Research
The strengths of doing research before I made my products had a huge impact on my
final pieces as I came out with better products, this is because of the research I did.
One of the strengths was the research in pre existing products
as I could see what images and colour schemes professionals
have used to create their products. When I was doing this I
Found out that the colour scheme was matching up the colours
with the watch as this made all the colour contrast with each
other. Furthermore this allowed me to see the effects these
colours had on the audience. For example when I first saw these images my first
thought was freedom and adventure and all these images represent the same watch
yet they all shared the same message of travelling and exploring. As the audience we
can see this with the colours of blue which represent peace and then with boats mean
travelling this give the information to the audience of freedom. This is the
effectiveness of doing research before doing my products. As I have tried to involve
this into my own work by suggesting to the audience that this watch will make your
live easier. I believe that this could of gone better with some images and maybe the
colour scheme however what I think did go well was the layout to portray this imagery
of an easier life as I have made my product look bold yet simple this will get the
audience thinking the same way about if they did get the watch that everything else
would be as simple as this product is.
Strengths
Another benefit of using research before I created my products was I was
Able to explore all the different products that I had decided to make as I
Had planned before to make a poster, magazine and watch advert for my
FMP. when I research to see how others had done watch magazines with
cars involved as I had found a lot of watches had vehicles related to them
I wanted to create a watch advert that was related to a car such as
this one because it draws the audience into the product more I tried to
do this in my own work this was unsuccessful and also my audience
wasn’t bothered about any other images other than the watch so to
keep my audience interested in my work I had to only use the watch as
the main image. I believe that this worked very well in my product even
though I wasn’t able to create something I had planned as I had to make
the product stand out to my target audience. Furthermore if I was to do
this gain I would try and change the color scheme or even add a bright
color to make it more eye catching for my audience. Lastly before I
carried out my questionnaire I previously did some experiments with
some of my ideas one that relates back to my magazine cover is where I
experimented with cars and logos. This benefited my product as I soon
found out that this technique that I was trying to accomplish didn’t work
as I wanted it to, so I tried to keep it simple and effective. I also
experimented with gradients as I wanted to try and have the watch fade
out to make the product look more eye catching and appealing towards
the audience. Lastly another advantage of doing research before creating
my FMP was, I was able to directly ask my audience what they like to see
in a watch poster, advert and magazine and what draws them
To my products. Another good thing about being able to directly ask
questions to my target audience is that I am able to see what will
draw them to my product and what I can do to add it into my work.
For example I have clearly portrayed this when making my watch
advert as my audience specifically stated that they only wanted to
see the watch and nothing else so I did what my audience asked for
as I only showed little clips of the watch with various camera angles
and techniques. Lastly when it came with the individual interview I
was able to go into a deeper meaning of what/ why they like
products like that and what would make it more appealing for them.
Weakness
One of my weakness during research would have been when
researching about watch adverts with the super cars as at first I was
planning on doing something like this but I realized I couldn’t as I
didn’t have the equipment to do so. The downside of this is that it
was very time consuming in the end as I had to change my idea as I
wasn’t able to make a product that I had planned on so what I will
do next time when I look back on this product is can I make
something like this with the equipment I have. I believe if I had
research something more realistic I would have a better watch
advert than I have now as I didn’t have much time on planning my
product.
Another weakness of my research was when it came to my
Questionnaire as I got a couple of inappropriate responses so this makes some of my
results inaccurate and unreliable. What I will do next time is try and send my survey to
friends and relatives so I don’t get anomalies in my results this will lead to better
products that both me and my target audience can enjoy. Furthermore, when I do the
survey I will not put it on social media as I got a lot of 16 year olds answering my
questionnaire and I didn’t get many older people answering it so I couldn’t see who
my real target audience was. What I will do next time is send it to a range of different
age groups that are either relatives or friends so I get accurate results.
Planning
The strengths of planning before I made my products was that I
could construct a mind map that would allow me to write down
all my ideas for my products, this helped me as I could see which
one I could do best and which interested me the most. As for the
first mind map I decided to come up with three different ideas to
make, this was good as it gave a backup in case anything went
wrong with one of my ideas and I was then also able to choose
which product I wanted to do most. Another strength of planning
my product before making it would be being able to plan the
locations, props and everything I needed to make my products as
this helped massively overall with my time management as I was
able to plan what I needed to do. This effected my product
significantly as I was able to spend more time on editing my
products and coming out with a more appealing products that
will be more eye catching for my target audience. The reason to
why this is so important that I make it in this way is so I can
interest my target audience into my product. Lastly another
benefit of creating a mind map before making my products was I
was able to plan out every product I was going to make and go
into detail when doing so this helps me when it comes to making
Strengths
The products as I know exactly how I want them to turn out. The benefit of doing this
is it speeded up more production this is very helpful as if I needed something I would
have it in plenty of time and be able to make my product much faster allowing me to
spend most of my time editing it and making something stand out to the audience.
Weakness
One of the weakness of this planning would have been that when it came to creating a
mood board I could only do it with images and not videos this effected me a bit when
it came to production as I had to use more of my time researching trying to find a
watch advert that was similar to mine. If I had already have got some videos of watch
adverts in the planning stage I might have been able to come out with a better overall
product that will interest the audience more. When I do my planning again if I have a
video idea or an advert I will get some pre existing footage of my product of what I am
thinking of doing this will help both with my final product look and time management
as I will know what to make my product look like this allows it to be more professional
and this will interest more people other than my target audience into my product.
Another weakness of my planning would be that I didn’t get much detail in on my first
mind map this could have helped me as I could have done one of the other products
better as I didn’t go in much detail this effected my work as I then had to think about
what I’m going to be putting in my products later on whereas if I did this straight away
I could have more detail in my products and have a better product. When I do this
next time what I will do is write more detail in my first mind map so I don’t waste time
later on and this time could be spent more on editing or prepping my products.
Time Management
I believe that I managed my time very well as I completed every product on time with
as much detail in as possible. I do believe that at some points I could have managed
my time a bit better especially when it came to creating my watch advert as I left this
till last this effected me massively as I didn’t have as much time to edit my product. If I
had done this at the start I might have a better put come in my product this would
lead to my audience enjoying my product more. What I will ensure I do next time is
do the most time consuming product first as then I will be able to put the same
amount of detail and effects into my product. However apart form this mistake I
believe that everything else was very good and that I managed my time very well as all
my other products have come out the best I could get them to be as they are now
looking more professional and I was able to be very creative with them all. When I do
another product I will be trying to follow the same plan as I have done with this as I
have done this product the best I could the only thing I would change about this time
management would be doing the biggest product first then the quickest to do last.
Technical Qualities

ery/66072371/Watch-posters
When I was making my poster I wanting to make a similar product to this Rolex
watch poster the similarities of these posters is they both have a very similar
color scheme and layout. The reason to why I did a similar layout to this product
is because my audience where only interested in seeing the watch itself and
nothing else so I wanted to make it stand out like in the Rolex one and then the
color scheme also helped with this. As with the existing product Rolex have used
a dark color scheme such as a dark background and then with the watch being a
bright gold this makes it stand out to the audience over anything else that is in
this product I wanted to create a similar effect to this. However instead of just
having the watch being bright and having no effects I wanted to make my watch
stand out more to the target audience so I decided to add a fade into the watch
to make it more eye catching. However the differences of these products is very
slim as I have used a different font and colors to this existing product this
because I wanted avoid copyright and also to clearly demonstrate who my target
audience is for as I have sued a more of a fancy font to target the higher class as I
wanted to portray my watch as being top of the range. Furthermore I have used a
different color scheme for my text whereas Rolex have used green to symbolizes
money and that it is expensive I have copied the same color as my watch this is
to show what the most important thing is in the product as I am trying relate
everything in the poster to the watch as I want the audience to always remember
my product as this will get my watch well known.
The similarities of these two watch posters is the layout of
the products, I wanted to do something similar to this as I
wanted to make something bold and something that will
make my product stand out to my audience. Furthermore
I wanted to create a similar effect to the pre-existing
product as I wanted it to fade in the watch this is to make
the product more eye catching for the audience and will
draw them into the product. The products color schemes
are the same as they have both used the same color as
their watch for the font color, I thought that this would
make my product look more professional and bold. The
effect of this upon the audience is that it makes the
product look more creative and professional. The
differences of these products is very small as they are
both very similar however this is what most watch posters
look like. One of the differences however would be the
font as this is where I tried to make my product stand out
more as I have added effects to my writing. One of the
effects that I have used was the outer glow this just
makes it more noticeable for the audience and makes it
look more creative whereas with the other product the
producer has kept their product very basic and bold this is
where I wanted to add some creative effects to my work
to make it stand out more.
My Product
Pre existing
My Product
Pre existing
the similarities between my magazine front cover and a pre existing one is the
layout of the products, as my car idea didn’t work I wanted to try and create
something where the watch was the first thing that the audience will see so I
got inspiration from pre existing products such as this one the similarity is the
watch going across the entire cover on an angle. The effect this has upon the
audience is that it is very clearly portrayed what the main product is as both
producers have tried to make the watch stand out in an unique way. Apart
from this with the layout of the watch being the same the rest of the magazine
is very different as terms of the color scheme with the font and the layout of
the font. One of the differences of the magazine front covers would be the
layout of the font as the other producer has tried to push their writing to a
side out of the way so the watch is easily spotted first I have put my font in the
bottom center. The reason to why I have done this is because after my
audience have seen the watch I want the next thing for them to see is the title
of the product as this is because I want as the producer of the watch to get the
name of the brand out there and for people to see it. This will effect the
audience as it will make the product well know to them and it will grow in
popularity as everyone will know of the brands name. Another difference of
the products is that mine has a special offer being advertised in the top right
hand corner I have put this here to draw the audience into the product as I
have tried to grab there attention into it. However if I was to do this magazine
again I believe I would use a different color scheme for the writing as I believe
this makes the product look plain and boring whereas with the other product
they have made theirs look more modern and more lively as they have used a
bright color scheme to portray this image to the audience.
My Product
Pre Existing
The similarities between my watch logo and a pre existing one is the
layout o the title of the logo as both products have put the title of the
brand name in the center of the product this is to make the products
name stand out to the audience. Another similarity between both of
these products is that they have both used a shape to create their
logo for example I have sued a shield and the pre existing product has
used a watch face to create their logo on. Apart form these few
similarities these products have a lot more differences such as the
color scheme fonts and design. Firstly one of the differences of these
products would be the color scheme as the pre existing product has
used a just a plain color scheme of black and white to create their
product whereas with my product I have sued varies colors such as
blue, black and white I used a these colors to make my product stand
out more to the audience as I believe this makes my product look
more creative and professional. Another differences would be the
effects I have put onto my font to make it stand out more and to make
it look more professional, on my text I have added an outer glow to
my font and had the color white this is to make it contrast with the
other colors nicely so it stand out to the audience as this will draw
them into it. Lastly the other difference would be the fade that I do to
add more detail in my product as I used a gradient tool to create this
fade I decided to have the product go dark to light then back to dark
this just brings the product together more and will have a better
overall look towards the audience.
My Product
Pre Existing

watch?v=9-OfDIE9BLI
The similarities of my watch advert compared to this pre
existing one is a couple of things such as the color scheme and
camera angles. Firstly the color schemes are very similar as
both products have used a dark color scheme for the video I
used it to show of the watch only as I was wanting to show
little clips of the watch in my video such as this pre existing
one has portrayed. The sue of showing little clips of the watch
mixed with this dark color scheme creates a sense of mystery
to the audience and this draws them into the product. Another
similarity between these two products is the camera angles
used as in both products the camera is always moving about
it’s never stopped moving this makes the video go quicker and
makes the audience stay focused on the product as they won’t
want to miss anything. However there are some similarities
there are some differences as well for example one of these
differences is the speed of the video as the pre existing one
has more clips of the watch the producer has made the speed
of the video quicker this makes the audience want to keep
watching and not look anyway as they know if they do they
will miss footage of the watch being advertised, whereas with
my product is a lot slower I did this to make the audience be
bale to preview the watch easier, however as I wanted the
audience to stay interested in my product I didn’t use as much
clips as the other one did so my audience would’t lose interest
in my product
Aesthetic Qualities
The things that I like about my product is the fading in on
the watch this adds an effect upon the audience as it
makes look more professional to the audience. However
I'm not the biggest fan of how my product turned out as I
believe here is a lot of space left around the watch and that
I believe I should of used as much of the space as I could.
Wat I will do next time to fix this I will make the watch
bigger to try and utilize some of the space as right now it
looks rushed. Another thing I will try to improve on next tie
is the color scheme I use for the text as I believe the text at
the bottom of the poster is difficult to read so what I will
try and do next time is if it’s on a black background use a
solid color such as white so it is easy to read and will still
stand out. Apart form these improvements I could have
made I believe that the main strength was the watch that I
made as it I was able to make it eye catching for the
audience as I wanted this watch to be the first thing that
people saw and I wanted to get their attention to the watch
and this has worked with these effects.
When I was creating this poster for my watch I believe
that my strongest parts of this poster was the editing on
the watch that I imported into Photoshop. As for me to
create his I used a portable studio and a light and took a
picture on my phone I then used the gradient tool to
create a fade, I believe this was the strongest product I
made as it stands out to the audience when they see it.
Another strength in this product would be the title
‘Time Maker’ as I believe that this is easy to read and it
stands out to the audience as it will draw them into my
product as this looks professional. However there is only
one weakness to my product and that’s the slogan down
below as I believe hat this is difficult for the audience to
read due to the outer glow or the color I used ad this
will annoy the audience as they won’t be able to read
my products writing. Next time when I do this I will
avoid this mistake by trying to use a bold color that will
contrast with he background for example when I created
this I should used the color white as nit is the easiest to
read on black and it is simple but bold at the same time.
I will also try to avoid using outer glow as often as it can
make the writing difficult to unless I used the color black
as the fill color on my text and then added a white outer
glow then this would have worked well as it would have
stood out over other products.
When I made this magazine I believe that one of the strengths
of this product was the layout I chose to use as it looks creative
yet professional and it is easy for the audience to read. For
example as I wanted the audience to see the watch first I
decided to make it the biggest thing on the magazine however I
tried to have it straight but this looked out of place so I put it
on an angle this makes it look like its been put there not just
dragged and dropped on a Photoshop document. Another
strength to this magazine front cover would be the title as I
believe that I have done this creatively as I have dropped a
banner behind the text as this where I want the audience’s
attention to be when viewing my product. On the other hand
however, I believe that there are some weakness of my product
such as the ‘buy one get one 10% off’ as I think for the
audience this will be the last thing they will see and this is
supposed to be like a tagline something that will draw them
into the product in the first place, what I will do next time to
ensure that this is the first thing they see when they are
looking at the magazine from a distance I will try and use a
bright color so it is easily identifiable. Furthermore another
weakness of mine that is in the magazine once again is the
slogans down at the bottom I believe hat these are also difficult
to read, this is bad as the audience might loose interest in the
product if they cannot read the products writing.
I believe that overall this logo for my watch is a very good
and professional product as I believe that majority of this
logo is very strong. For example the effects that I have used
on the shield such as the fade with the colors as I have it
going dark to light to dark this simple yet effective trick is
very effective upon the audience as it makes the overall
image look better and more creative. Another strength
would be the font such as the ‘L’ I used this letter to
symbolize longenes brand this is very effective as it imprints
a image to the audience as to when they see a letter ‘L’ it will
make them think of this watch. To make it look effective I
wanted it to look like the handle of the shield was going
through part of the letter so I erased some of the letter to
make the product look creative. For the weaknesses of this
product there isn’t many at all as I have made it clear what
the product is for and what it is as I have the main tile on
there with the ‘Time Maker’ which the audience will know
that this is for a watch. The only weakness I can see would
be that there is a lot of blank space where I believe I could of
done something here to add more detail in my work and I
could have come out with a better looking product, however
I think if I was to do this it would look rushed and the
audience would agree with this and they would lose interest
in the product.
I believe that this watch video could have gone better as I
didn’t have as much time as I would have liked to however
there where some strong positives about my watch advert I
believe. Firstly one of them would have been my camera
angles as I used water to get different angles and shots on
the watch this helped me to show the audience what I want
them to see. The effect of this is I am able to control where
my audience is looking during my video this is a good thing
as I was able to keep them interested in my advert. Another
positive thing about my work would be the color scheme I
used to go along side the music as I played classical music to
go along side the watch this tells the audience that it is an
expensive watch and is for the higher class this makes sure
that I have the correct audience viewing my product.
Furthermore with the color scheme I was able to create the
effect of mystery with the sue of black as this will keep the
audience interested in my product as they will want to see
what the watch looks like as they won’t have any hints unless
they watch the video. On the other hand however, there is
one main weakness to my watch advert I believe that it was
too slow for what I was aiming for and this would make the
audience loose interest in the product what I will do next
time is take more clips of the watch with more water effects
to keep it interesting but I will also make the whole video go
quicker with fast burst of clips.
Audience Appeal
I have made my products appeal to a wide range of people as I took my questionnaire and
interviews very seriously as I have listened to what my audience would like. For example I
wanted to know what interests my audience into watch posters and a lot of people where
saying images so when I asked in my interview what images people like to see majority
said just the watch. As majority of my audience only wanted to see the watch I listened to
what they asked for as I wanted to try and make it interesting for my audience I added
various effects to my watch to interest them. Furthermore it was difficult to have a
product that was creative and bold but could only use one image and that being the
watch. For me to make it interest for the audience I used the gradient tool to create the
fade and then what I did was I got the rubber tool and put it on soft with the opacity
turned down so it still kept the same effect apart from you can still see the all the watch.
Lastly for me to have the audience poster how they wanted it to look like I had to have
the watch in the middle of the poster and make it bigger so it is more eye catching for the
audience. When it came to my advert my audience only wanted to see the watch and only
the watch so to keep my audience interested in my product I only showed short clips of
the watch and I was trying to hide the watch a bit until the end so my audience will
engage with the product as I am trying to keep their attention for as long as I can. I believe
overall that all my products will interest my audience as they will be able to engage with
the product and be happy with how they all came out like.

– they all look the similar
– Logo doesn’t match the products
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– Best photography
– Very good camera angles
– Good choice in colour scheme
– Good effects used on watch
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• Could have used different music doesn’t go well with product
• Watch advert should have been longer
• Writing a little bit difficult to read on magazine
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– Good camera angles
– Good photos of the watch
– Creative idea with the logo
– good effects
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Music wasn’t good needs changing
– Make logo look like its for a watch more
– text a bit difficult to read
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
– I agree that the music for the advert should have been better I believe that I chose a
pore sound to use for it
– The advert should have been longer I think I should have done this so I could then speed
it up and make the audience more proud of the product
– Text on the magazine is a little bit difficult to read
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
– That some of the products look similar, I believe hat this is a good thing as this is what I
was aiming for as I wanted the audience to be able to identify that all these products are
for the same watch
– The logo doesn’t fit the product I believe that it does as I have used a similar colour
scheme to the watch itself so it relates I have then added the title of the watch and
brand name into the logo as well
Peer Feedback Summary
I I was to do this again based on my improvements I would have changed my
watch advert as I would have made that longer and have put better music
alongside it so it will interest the audience in the product. I will then also try and
watch out for my text I will need to ensure that it is easy to read and that it stands
out at the same time for me to do this I will next time use white writing on a
black background so it is easy for the audience to read. Overall I believe that my
products have come out very good.

Evaluation of Production Process Research and Planning

  • 3. Research The strengths of doing research before I made my products had a huge impact on my final pieces as I came out with better products, this is because of the research I did. One of the strengths was the research in pre existing products as I could see what images and colour schemes professionals have used to create their products. When I was doing this I Found out that the colour scheme was matching up the colours with the watch as this made all the colour contrast with each other. Furthermore this allowed me to see the effects these colours had on the audience. For example when I first saw these images my first thought was freedom and adventure and all these images represent the same watch yet they all shared the same message of travelling and exploring. As the audience we can see this with the colours of blue which represent peace and then with boats mean travelling this give the information to the audience of freedom. This is the effectiveness of doing research before doing my products. As I have tried to involve this into my own work by suggesting to the audience that this watch will make your live easier. I believe that this could of gone better with some images and maybe the colour scheme however what I think did go well was the layout to portray this imagery of an easier life as I have made my product look bold yet simple this will get the audience thinking the same way about if they did get the watch that everything else would be as simple as this product is. Strengths
  • 4. Another benefit of using research before I created my products was I was Able to explore all the different products that I had decided to make as I Had planned before to make a poster, magazine and watch advert for my FMP. when I research to see how others had done watch magazines with cars involved as I had found a lot of watches had vehicles related to them I wanted to create a watch advert that was related to a car such as this one because it draws the audience into the product more I tried to do this in my own work this was unsuccessful and also my audience wasn’t bothered about any other images other than the watch so to keep my audience interested in my work I had to only use the watch as the main image. I believe that this worked very well in my product even though I wasn’t able to create something I had planned as I had to make the product stand out to my target audience. Furthermore if I was to do this gain I would try and change the color scheme or even add a bright color to make it more eye catching for my audience. Lastly before I carried out my questionnaire I previously did some experiments with some of my ideas one that relates back to my magazine cover is where I experimented with cars and logos. This benefited my product as I soon found out that this technique that I was trying to accomplish didn’t work as I wanted it to, so I tried to keep it simple and effective. I also experimented with gradients as I wanted to try and have the watch fade out to make the product look more eye catching and appealing towards the audience. Lastly another advantage of doing research before creating my FMP was, I was able to directly ask my audience what they like to see in a watch poster, advert and magazine and what draws them
  • 5. To my products. Another good thing about being able to directly ask questions to my target audience is that I am able to see what will draw them to my product and what I can do to add it into my work. For example I have clearly portrayed this when making my watch advert as my audience specifically stated that they only wanted to see the watch and nothing else so I did what my audience asked for as I only showed little clips of the watch with various camera angles and techniques. Lastly when it came with the individual interview I was able to go into a deeper meaning of what/ why they like products like that and what would make it more appealing for them. Weakness One of my weakness during research would have been when researching about watch adverts with the super cars as at first I was planning on doing something like this but I realized I couldn’t as I didn’t have the equipment to do so. The downside of this is that it was very time consuming in the end as I had to change my idea as I wasn’t able to make a product that I had planned on so what I will do next time when I look back on this product is can I make something like this with the equipment I have. I believe if I had research something more realistic I would have a better watch advert than I have now as I didn’t have much time on planning my product. Another weakness of my research was when it came to my
  • 6. Questionnaire as I got a couple of inappropriate responses so this makes some of my results inaccurate and unreliable. What I will do next time is try and send my survey to friends and relatives so I don’t get anomalies in my results this will lead to better products that both me and my target audience can enjoy. Furthermore, when I do the survey I will not put it on social media as I got a lot of 16 year olds answering my questionnaire and I didn’t get many older people answering it so I couldn’t see who my real target audience was. What I will do next time is send it to a range of different age groups that are either relatives or friends so I get accurate results.
  • 7. Planning The strengths of planning before I made my products was that I could construct a mind map that would allow me to write down all my ideas for my products, this helped me as I could see which one I could do best and which interested me the most. As for the first mind map I decided to come up with three different ideas to make, this was good as it gave a backup in case anything went wrong with one of my ideas and I was then also able to choose which product I wanted to do most. Another strength of planning my product before making it would be being able to plan the locations, props and everything I needed to make my products as this helped massively overall with my time management as I was able to plan what I needed to do. This effected my product significantly as I was able to spend more time on editing my products and coming out with a more appealing products that will be more eye catching for my target audience. The reason to why this is so important that I make it in this way is so I can interest my target audience into my product. Lastly another benefit of creating a mind map before making my products was I was able to plan out every product I was going to make and go into detail when doing so this helps me when it comes to making Strengths
  • 8. The products as I know exactly how I want them to turn out. The benefit of doing this is it speeded up more production this is very helpful as if I needed something I would have it in plenty of time and be able to make my product much faster allowing me to spend most of my time editing it and making something stand out to the audience. Weakness One of the weakness of this planning would have been that when it came to creating a mood board I could only do it with images and not videos this effected me a bit when it came to production as I had to use more of my time researching trying to find a watch advert that was similar to mine. If I had already have got some videos of watch adverts in the planning stage I might have been able to come out with a better overall product that will interest the audience more. When I do my planning again if I have a video idea or an advert I will get some pre existing footage of my product of what I am thinking of doing this will help both with my final product look and time management as I will know what to make my product look like this allows it to be more professional and this will interest more people other than my target audience into my product. Another weakness of my planning would be that I didn’t get much detail in on my first mind map this could have helped me as I could have done one of the other products better as I didn’t go in much detail this effected my work as I then had to think about what I’m going to be putting in my products later on whereas if I did this straight away I could have more detail in my products and have a better product. When I do this next time what I will do is write more detail in my first mind map so I don’t waste time later on and this time could be spent more on editing or prepping my products.
  • 9. Time Management I believe that I managed my time very well as I completed every product on time with as much detail in as possible. I do believe that at some points I could have managed my time a bit better especially when it came to creating my watch advert as I left this till last this effected me massively as I didn’t have as much time to edit my product. If I had done this at the start I might have a better put come in my product this would lead to my audience enjoying my product more. What I will ensure I do next time is do the most time consuming product first as then I will be able to put the same amount of detail and effects into my product. However apart form this mistake I believe that everything else was very good and that I managed my time very well as all my other products have come out the best I could get them to be as they are now looking more professional and I was able to be very creative with them all. When I do another product I will be trying to follow the same plan as I have done with this as I have done this product the best I could the only thing I would change about this time management would be doing the biggest product first then the quickest to do last.
  • 10. Technical Qualities https://www.behance.net/gall ery/66072371/Watch-posters When I was making my poster I wanting to make a similar product to this Rolex watch poster the similarities of these posters is they both have a very similar color scheme and layout. The reason to why I did a similar layout to this product is because my audience where only interested in seeing the watch itself and nothing else so I wanted to make it stand out like in the Rolex one and then the color scheme also helped with this. As with the existing product Rolex have used a dark color scheme such as a dark background and then with the watch being a bright gold this makes it stand out to the audience over anything else that is in this product I wanted to create a similar effect to this. However instead of just having the watch being bright and having no effects I wanted to make my watch stand out more to the target audience so I decided to add a fade into the watch to make it more eye catching. However the differences of these products is very slim as I have used a different font and colors to this existing product this because I wanted avoid copyright and also to clearly demonstrate who my target audience is for as I have sued a more of a fancy font to target the higher class as I wanted to portray my watch as being top of the range. Furthermore I have used a different color scheme for my text whereas Rolex have used green to symbolizes money and that it is expensive I have copied the same color as my watch this is to show what the most important thing is in the product as I am trying relate everything in the poster to the watch as I want the audience to always remember my product as this will get my watch well known.
  • 11. The similarities of these two watch posters is the layout of the products, I wanted to do something similar to this as I wanted to make something bold and something that will make my product stand out to my audience. Furthermore I wanted to create a similar effect to the pre-existing product as I wanted it to fade in the watch this is to make the product more eye catching for the audience and will draw them into the product. The products color schemes are the same as they have both used the same color as their watch for the font color, I thought that this would make my product look more professional and bold. The effect of this upon the audience is that it makes the product look more creative and professional. The differences of these products is very small as they are both very similar however this is what most watch posters look like. One of the differences however would be the font as this is where I tried to make my product stand out more as I have added effects to my writing. One of the effects that I have used was the outer glow this just makes it more noticeable for the audience and makes it look more creative whereas with the other product the producer has kept their product very basic and bold this is where I wanted to add some creative effects to my work to make it stand out more. My Product Pre existing
  • 12. My Product Pre existing the similarities between my magazine front cover and a pre existing one is the layout of the products, as my car idea didn’t work I wanted to try and create something where the watch was the first thing that the audience will see so I got inspiration from pre existing products such as this one the similarity is the watch going across the entire cover on an angle. The effect this has upon the audience is that it is very clearly portrayed what the main product is as both producers have tried to make the watch stand out in an unique way. Apart from this with the layout of the watch being the same the rest of the magazine is very different as terms of the color scheme with the font and the layout of the font. One of the differences of the magazine front covers would be the layout of the font as the other producer has tried to push their writing to a side out of the way so the watch is easily spotted first I have put my font in the bottom center. The reason to why I have done this is because after my audience have seen the watch I want the next thing for them to see is the title of the product as this is because I want as the producer of the watch to get the name of the brand out there and for people to see it. This will effect the audience as it will make the product well know to them and it will grow in popularity as everyone will know of the brands name. Another difference of the products is that mine has a special offer being advertised in the top right hand corner I have put this here to draw the audience into the product as I have tried to grab there attention into it. However if I was to do this magazine again I believe I would use a different color scheme for the writing as I believe this makes the product look plain and boring whereas with the other product they have made theirs look more modern and more lively as they have used a bright color scheme to portray this image to the audience.
  • 13. My Product Pre Existing The similarities between my watch logo and a pre existing one is the layout o the title of the logo as both products have put the title of the brand name in the center of the product this is to make the products name stand out to the audience. Another similarity between both of these products is that they have both used a shape to create their logo for example I have sued a shield and the pre existing product has used a watch face to create their logo on. Apart form these few similarities these products have a lot more differences such as the color scheme fonts and design. Firstly one of the differences of these products would be the color scheme as the pre existing product has used a just a plain color scheme of black and white to create their product whereas with my product I have sued varies colors such as blue, black and white I used a these colors to make my product stand out more to the audience as I believe this makes my product look more creative and professional. Another differences would be the effects I have put onto my font to make it stand out more and to make it look more professional, on my text I have added an outer glow to my font and had the color white this is to make it contrast with the other colors nicely so it stand out to the audience as this will draw them into it. Lastly the other difference would be the fade that I do to add more detail in my product as I used a gradient tool to create this fade I decided to have the product go dark to light then back to dark this just brings the product together more and will have a better overall look towards the audience.
  • 14. My Product Pre Existing https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=9-OfDIE9BLI The similarities of my watch advert compared to this pre existing one is a couple of things such as the color scheme and camera angles. Firstly the color schemes are very similar as both products have used a dark color scheme for the video I used it to show of the watch only as I was wanting to show little clips of the watch in my video such as this pre existing one has portrayed. The sue of showing little clips of the watch mixed with this dark color scheme creates a sense of mystery to the audience and this draws them into the product. Another similarity between these two products is the camera angles used as in both products the camera is always moving about it’s never stopped moving this makes the video go quicker and makes the audience stay focused on the product as they won’t want to miss anything. However there are some similarities there are some differences as well for example one of these differences is the speed of the video as the pre existing one has more clips of the watch the producer has made the speed of the video quicker this makes the audience want to keep watching and not look anyway as they know if they do they will miss footage of the watch being advertised, whereas with my product is a lot slower I did this to make the audience be bale to preview the watch easier, however as I wanted the audience to stay interested in my product I didn’t use as much clips as the other one did so my audience would’t lose interest in my product
  • 15. Aesthetic Qualities The things that I like about my product is the fading in on the watch this adds an effect upon the audience as it makes look more professional to the audience. However I'm not the biggest fan of how my product turned out as I believe here is a lot of space left around the watch and that I believe I should of used as much of the space as I could. Wat I will do next time to fix this I will make the watch bigger to try and utilize some of the space as right now it looks rushed. Another thing I will try to improve on next tie is the color scheme I use for the text as I believe the text at the bottom of the poster is difficult to read so what I will try and do next time is if it’s on a black background use a solid color such as white so it is easy to read and will still stand out. Apart form these improvements I could have made I believe that the main strength was the watch that I made as it I was able to make it eye catching for the audience as I wanted this watch to be the first thing that people saw and I wanted to get their attention to the watch and this has worked with these effects.
  • 16. When I was creating this poster for my watch I believe that my strongest parts of this poster was the editing on the watch that I imported into Photoshop. As for me to create his I used a portable studio and a light and took a picture on my phone I then used the gradient tool to create a fade, I believe this was the strongest product I made as it stands out to the audience when they see it. Another strength in this product would be the title ‘Time Maker’ as I believe that this is easy to read and it stands out to the audience as it will draw them into my product as this looks professional. However there is only one weakness to my product and that’s the slogan down below as I believe hat this is difficult for the audience to read due to the outer glow or the color I used ad this will annoy the audience as they won’t be able to read my products writing. Next time when I do this I will avoid this mistake by trying to use a bold color that will contrast with he background for example when I created this I should used the color white as nit is the easiest to read on black and it is simple but bold at the same time. I will also try to avoid using outer glow as often as it can make the writing difficult to unless I used the color black as the fill color on my text and then added a white outer glow then this would have worked well as it would have stood out over other products.
  • 17. When I made this magazine I believe that one of the strengths of this product was the layout I chose to use as it looks creative yet professional and it is easy for the audience to read. For example as I wanted the audience to see the watch first I decided to make it the biggest thing on the magazine however I tried to have it straight but this looked out of place so I put it on an angle this makes it look like its been put there not just dragged and dropped on a Photoshop document. Another strength to this magazine front cover would be the title as I believe that I have done this creatively as I have dropped a banner behind the text as this where I want the audience’s attention to be when viewing my product. On the other hand however, I believe that there are some weakness of my product such as the ‘buy one get one 10% off’ as I think for the audience this will be the last thing they will see and this is supposed to be like a tagline something that will draw them into the product in the first place, what I will do next time to ensure that this is the first thing they see when they are looking at the magazine from a distance I will try and use a bright color so it is easily identifiable. Furthermore another weakness of mine that is in the magazine once again is the slogans down at the bottom I believe hat these are also difficult to read, this is bad as the audience might loose interest in the product if they cannot read the products writing.
  • 18. I believe that overall this logo for my watch is a very good and professional product as I believe that majority of this logo is very strong. For example the effects that I have used on the shield such as the fade with the colors as I have it going dark to light to dark this simple yet effective trick is very effective upon the audience as it makes the overall image look better and more creative. Another strength would be the font such as the ‘L’ I used this letter to symbolize longenes brand this is very effective as it imprints a image to the audience as to when they see a letter ‘L’ it will make them think of this watch. To make it look effective I wanted it to look like the handle of the shield was going through part of the letter so I erased some of the letter to make the product look creative. For the weaknesses of this product there isn’t many at all as I have made it clear what the product is for and what it is as I have the main tile on there with the ‘Time Maker’ which the audience will know that this is for a watch. The only weakness I can see would be that there is a lot of blank space where I believe I could of done something here to add more detail in my work and I could have come out with a better looking product, however I think if I was to do this it would look rushed and the audience would agree with this and they would lose interest in the product.
  • 19. I believe that this watch video could have gone better as I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked to however there where some strong positives about my watch advert I believe. Firstly one of them would have been my camera angles as I used water to get different angles and shots on the watch this helped me to show the audience what I want them to see. The effect of this is I am able to control where my audience is looking during my video this is a good thing as I was able to keep them interested in my advert. Another positive thing about my work would be the color scheme I used to go along side the music as I played classical music to go along side the watch this tells the audience that it is an expensive watch and is for the higher class this makes sure that I have the correct audience viewing my product. Furthermore with the color scheme I was able to create the effect of mystery with the sue of black as this will keep the audience interested in my product as they will want to see what the watch looks like as they won’t have any hints unless they watch the video. On the other hand however, there is one main weakness to my watch advert I believe that it was too slow for what I was aiming for and this would make the audience loose interest in the product what I will do next time is take more clips of the watch with more water effects to keep it interesting but I will also make the whole video go quicker with fast burst of clips.
  • 21. I have made my products appeal to a wide range of people as I took my questionnaire and interviews very seriously as I have listened to what my audience would like. For example I wanted to know what interests my audience into watch posters and a lot of people where saying images so when I asked in my interview what images people like to see majority said just the watch. As majority of my audience only wanted to see the watch I listened to what they asked for as I wanted to try and make it interesting for my audience I added various effects to my watch to interest them. Furthermore it was difficult to have a product that was creative and bold but could only use one image and that being the watch. For me to make it interest for the audience I used the gradient tool to create the fade and then what I did was I got the rubber tool and put it on soft with the opacity turned down so it still kept the same effect apart from you can still see the all the watch. Lastly for me to have the audience poster how they wanted it to look like I had to have the watch in the middle of the poster and make it bigger so it is more eye catching for the audience. When it came to my advert my audience only wanted to see the watch and only the watch so to keep my audience interested in my product I only showed short clips of the watch and I was trying to hide the watch a bit until the end so my audience will engage with the product as I am trying to keep their attention for as long as I can. I believe overall that all my products will interest my audience as they will be able to engage with the product and be happy with how they all came out like.
  • 23. Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? – Good camera angles – Like the choice of the colour schemes – Like the shadow effects – the photography is very good • What improvements could have been made to the product? – The music doesn’t match the product – they all look the similar – Logo doesn’t match the products
  • 24. Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? – Best photography – Very good camera angles – Good choice in colour scheme – Good effects used on watch • What improvements could have been made to the product? • Could have used different music doesn’t go well with product • Watch advert should have been longer • Writing a little bit difficult to read on magazine
  • 25. Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? – Good camera angles – Good photos of the watch – Creative idea with the logo – good effects • What improvements could have been made to the product? – Music wasn’t good needs changing – Make logo look like its for a watch more – text a bit difficult to read
  • 26. Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? – I agree that the music for the advert should have been better I believe that I chose a pore sound to use for it – The advert should have been longer I think I should have done this so I could then speed it up and make the audience more proud of the product – Text on the magazine is a little bit difficult to read • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? – That some of the products look similar, I believe hat this is a good thing as this is what I was aiming for as I wanted the audience to be able to identify that all these products are for the same watch – The logo doesn’t fit the product I believe that it does as I have used a similar colour scheme to the watch itself so it relates I have then added the title of the watch and brand name into the logo as well
  • 27. Peer Feedback Summary I I was to do this again based on my improvements I would have changed my watch advert as I would have made that longer and have put better music alongside it so it will interest the audience in the product. I will then also try and watch out for my text I will need to ensure that it is easy to read and that it stands out at the same time for me to do this I will next time use white writing on a black background so it is easy for the audience to read. Overall I believe that my products have come out very good.
