Rise of a champion
Main area of activity
Video documentary about a snooker player becoming one of the best
Target Audience My target audience is for 16–24-year-olds because there is a growing
number of young adults playing snooker now so I believe my product will appeal to them to
make it draw them into it I have tried to make it eye catching for them, so I have added in
creative techniques such as transitions camera anglesand more
Rationale:
During this course I have done music videos and more this has helped me as I now know different
camera angles that I can use to my advantage to make the product look more professional and
creative. I have also learnt some new editing skills that I have learnt to us in premier pro as a result
of this I can now create more interesting and eye-catching products for my target audience. For
example, I have learnt how to fade images and text in and out this makes it more creative for the
audience. Lastly, I now know how to edit sound in various software such as garage band and more
this is very useful as it makes my product look a lot better.
Project Concept:
the concept of my idea is about a snooker player who starts off bad, but he then become sone of
the best players in the world to play snooker. I am going to be involving interviews with various
people such as a coach/ parents/ friends. This will make it more interesting for the audience as
they will be able to see this players background and where he started off playing. The locations
that are needed for this product is a snooker club as this is where a lot of my filming will be done
as I will be having the player play snooker and I will be suing various camera angles and
techniques to make it interesting. For example, I will be filming in slow motion and time-lapse as
this is a way, I can make it creative and eye catching for the audience. I will need to research
some interesting facts about various snooker legends in order to make it more of a documentary
as I will need the audience to believe in the product. Furthermore, I will be adding in some old
footage of snooker players playing as this will interest the audience as they will get to see some of
the older players playing to add this effect of old footage, I will be creating a black and white video
for the old clips to illustrate that they are old footages of different players such as jimmy white.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed?
I will be asking colleagues to look at my product and tell me what worked well and what didn’t and
how I could have improved on it. I will also be comparing it to a pre-existing product that is like
mine as this way I can compare my work to someone else and see what I did better and where I
could improve on myself.
