The document analyzes the strength of a skim tank under different load combinations as per API 650 standards. It focuses on modeling the main structural members like the roof, tank shell, and plates to analyze internal stresses. 4. The focus of the analysis is on the main
roof structure, tank shell, roof, annular
and bottom plates; the internal stresses
of each structural member.
The entire model of fabricated curved
beam with its connection members is
meshed with beam elements and 4 noded
plate elements.
Nozzle connections have not been
considered in this analysis.
Designed vacuum pressure is considered
for the static and buckling analysis.
