This magazine is from
the 1980’s and is very
different to other
more modern
magazines probably
because of the fact
back then there was
less fishing magazine
brands to have to try
and compete with
meaning magazines
such as this one
would have not have
had to try so hard for
readers to buy it.

have mainly men on the photos as fishing is
a men dominated sport.

time fishing

front cover which will catch a fisherman's
eye.
Social Status
Working class • Have the magazine cheap along with free or
cheap plugs on the front cover.
25. Research Evaluation
• Give an overview of how you conducted your research.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each method
– Product Research
• Product research was incredibly helpful in my gaining a basic idea of what I wanted
in my head because I could take little bits and pieces such as layouts or design
choices from other successful products that I enjoyed the aesthetic of.
– Questionnaires
• The questionnaires were helpful in me deciding certain factors such as my targeted
age range or the price of my magazine .
– Interviews
The interviews helped me get a general idea of peoples experiences fishing and
how much knowledge they have on it , which will help me in my final design by changing
how much technical writing I put on it.
26. Research Evaluation
– What sort of a response did you get?
I feel I got a good response especially from my survey because I got so many
different answers back I did not expect which will really help me when I create
the fishing magazine.
– How did you distribute your survey? Give an advantage and a disadvantage
I sent it to my friends in a group chat because as an advantage I would get
quick answers and replies but as a disadvantage I would get answers from a fair
few people who have no interest in fishing so would never even think about
buying a fishing magazine.
