The author plans to create a magazine targeted towards teenage indie music fans. They will conduct interviews with their target audience to learn what types of content and magazine formats are most appealing. Their magazine will feature upcoming concerts and album releases, exclusive artist information, band gossip and photos. It will be affordably priced and offer online subscriptions to attract working class readers. Contests and prizes will also entice readers. Approximately 50 pages of content along with a supporting website and social media pages will provide a professional product that keeps the audience interested in purchasing each issue.
1. Magazine Pitch/Treatment:
My magazine will hopefully be popular amongst teen Indie
music. After researching my target audience, I can use the
information from my interviews with them, to see what they like
and what they look for in their ideal magazines and to then
develop these ideas to make my own Indie/Indie Rock
magazine. Research tells me that working class people are most
likely to buy my magazine, so therefore in response to this, I
shall assure that my price is affordable, and subscription offers
are available online. Also I will make sure my magazine
features opportunities to win prizes, so that more audiences are
drawn in. Other things to help draw people in will be the
mention of things for example like Upcoming Gigs and albums,
Exclusive Information, Gossip about different artists and
photos of different bands.
Using around 50 pages in the magazine will assure lots of
valuable information for the audience so that they keep on
buying my magazine. A website will be set up as well as a
Twitter and Facebook page, which people can follow for
glimpses of information making them want to buy the magazine
for extra information. All these factors will help my magazine to
come out looking professional and that help me to bring in an
audience for my magazine.
