2. Actor 1- Mackenzie Kidwai
The character that Mackenzie will be playing is the lead
singer believe that he is suitable for this role because of
the clothing that he wears as it is black and very
monotone which is what I want this video to be as that
is what the message of the song conveys to the
audience. During production Mackenzie can keep a
straight face, plus he is the only one who knows the
lyrics. His personality is very specific this is why I have
chosen him because his personality fits the song as he
is a very monotone person who always wears black
which again is very monotone. Mackenzie has also
acted in other peoples opening title sequences so it
would not be the first time acting in front of a camera.
As the song is about teenagers I thought it would be a
good idea for the main character to be of that age
group and culture. He will have a strong on screen
presence because of how stern his face can look and he
can also follow directions very well.
3. Actress - Kim Kidwai
The character that Kim will be playing is the
mother in the start of the narrative. They
will appear in the start of the music video
watching the main character walk out of
the door. The purpose of this character is
to show that that teenagers don’t care
about their parents and with the lyrics
saying the same thing. I chose this person
because they have a good on camera
presence as well as being confident. She
also follows directions very well. She will
also make the video make more sense as
the lyrics are talking about a boy walking
out on his mother and these 2 actors are
mother and son.
4. Costume – Mackenzie Kidwai
Clothing: the character will be wearing plain black t-
shirt with plain black jeans and black vans. The
character will be wearing these because the character
needs to look as mono-tone as possible as well as not
looking happy because the theme of the video as well
as the lyrics are about sadness. The audience can relate
because of the brand of the shoes as the target
audience own a pair ofVans and a lot of people wear
black. It will be worn normally and the clothes will not
be ripped. The character is wearing all of these just so
the audience don’t focus on him rather than the lyrics
and what is going on around him. I want him to look
like a stereotypical teenager who listens to the genre of
music. One item of clothing is branded and it is the
trainers as they are vans, I have chosen to use this
brand because it is relatable as quite a lot of people
own a pair of vans
5. Costume – Kim Kidwai
Clothing: the character will be wearing a plain black t-shirt
with blue jeans. The character will be wearing these
because the character will be looking quite sad and fed up
that is why she is wearing a black top as the colour
represents sadness, which is what the tone and style of the
music video will be about. The audience can relate to both
of these items of clothing because they will most likely own
a piece of clothing similar or the same to these. They will be
worn normally with no tears or rips. The character is
wearing these so that the audience can focus on the video
and the lyrics of the song and how it links to the video. Her
shoes will not be seen during the shots that she is apart of.
6. Location –Trinity academy Halifax
I will be using this location because the song refers
directly to school in the lyrics and this is where a lot of
teenagers spend their time so the environment it is
perfect when filming. I will be able to use the
surrounding people in the corridor as extras whilst
trying to create an effect of every other person moving
quickly whilst I move slowly. The school also gives an
element of realism and make it relatable as most
people that are fans of this genre are teenagers, and
most of them will either be in full time or part time
education and the lyrics also have a direct link as it talks
about taking the test and skating of to school.
7. Location – House
I will use this location towards the beginning of
the video as it refers to a boy skating off to
school without talking to his dad or his mum as
he will be in the house and then he will leave.
This will be a relatable scene for a lot of people
as some people may do this. This location is also
always going to be available so I will not need to
wait to use it, and anything that I need to do will
be easily done because of the ease of access in
the house. I can do a lot with the location
because there will be multiple rooms as well as
being able to set up good camera angles
because I will be able to film from anywhere. I
will be using one of the bed rooms and the
hallway of the house, because these rooms will
link to what the lyrics of the song are saying.
8. Prop – Skate Board
I will use this prop because the songs
lyrics refer to one specifically and it is
relatable as a large amount of
teenagers use this prop in their
hobbies rather than just in a music
video. I will be using the prop in the
opening scene when at the house.
The prop wont look brand new it will
look scuffed and damaged to
represent the carelessness and
recklessness of teenagers for things
that they own.
9. Prop – Bag
This prop will be used to represent the school lifestyle and what a
teenager in school has do as it links to the lyric ‘Same routine before I
skate of to school’. In this part of my music video it will be the same
scene over and over but the character will be wearing different things
each cut but with the same bag.The prop will only be in the starting
scenes when the character leaves his house, even though the character
changes clothes during the scene. The bag will be torn and ripped at
the bottom to represent the carelessness and recklessness of
teenagers.
10. Prop – Bag
