1. My Music Video

2. Song Choice & Genre
• For my music video I have chosen the song ‘Video
Games’ by Lana Del Rey as it is one of my favourite
songs.
• I have decided that I will not have any lip synching
in my video, it will be very abstract.
• Del Rey is often associated with genre such as indie
rock, pop or baroque pop / rock. Baroque pop /
rock is a pop rock subgenre and is a style of rock
music that originated in the mid 1960s that brought
elements of classical music into the writing and
recording of rock'n'roll songs.

3. Plotline
My music video will follow a main female
lead who is suffering either the loss of
her boyfriend or there has been a break
up between them.
I aim to look closely at the lyrics of my
chosen song and follow them through,
e.g. the first line is ‘swinging in the
backyard’ and for this I have found a tyre
swing in which I will film my actor
swinging in. Although I will follow the
lyrics for some of the video I will make
sure that the story of the video is clear.

4. Storyboard
I hope to finish the song earlier than it does finish. At the end of the
song the chorus is played twice totalling an extra 1 minute and 5
seconds which I don’t want in my music video so I have found a suitable
time in the song to end my music video so that it is shorter and it
leaves me more time to focus on specific areas rather than the chorus
again.

6. Location & Casting
• My main locations will be: the
Lickey Hills, Worcester fields,
fields in an area around my
house overlooking hills and
the Drama Studio.
• I am using fields, grassy
areas and woodland areas as
it fits with the style of my
music video and artist but
also the plotline I have
chosen. These locations
provide a natural image to my
music video and fits with the
theme of love in my plot line.
• I aim to use the Drama Studio
to film some shots of my
actress doing certain things
such as sitting in a dark
corner and being in a bar
singing.
• My casting is very simple. I
am using my friend, Paige,
as the main female
protagonist in my music
video as she understands
the style I am going for and
will be able to co operate
with me effectively.
