The proposal is for a skateboarding video project that will feature both indoor and outdoor skating in York. The videographer aims to make the video more artistic by incorporating changing backgrounds and effects behind the skaters as they move. This creative approach was inspired by another video that used a similar technique briefly in the intro. To successfully realize this concept, the videographer will need to research different editing techniques and learn new skills. The work will be evaluated based on how well it matches the original vision and whether the background edits fit with and enhance the footage without noticeable errors.

Proposal
1. Proposal
I will be working in film/photography for the client project.
The two closest products I have made to this would be my music video where I
added distorted and colour effects to my video, which changed the look of certain
objects to make it more interesting and trippy. Also the first product I made
which was for irn bru, I made a heavily edited commercial, which included green
screen effects and different exposure with tints onto the original video. With the
skills I have learnt over this course, I am going to have a bit more experience
with how different effects work and if they look like I am just throwing in a
bunch of effects then I can change it into more of a fitting part of the work. My
last product was a trailer for a surf film, which I filmed in Thailand/England for
it. There were no waves in Thailand when I went there so I changed it so that I
filmed underwater wildlife instead for clips to go in between the surfing clips,
which went well.
I am going to be making a skating video in York, which is going to be a mix of
inside and outside skating. The problem at the moment is the weather we are
having so it could be mostly inside skating, which isnβt that bad because through
the summer we found street inside spots. I am going to put a twist on the skating
video so that it is more arty and interesting for the viewer and with this idea I am
going to need to research different editing techniques so that I can pull it off as
smoothly as possible. It will help my project because I have never done this type
of editing before so I am going to need to learn this skill so that I can successfully
use it in my project. My concept is that I am going to make a skate video which
includes different elements change as the video goes on, so for example when it
is a wide shot of someone skating the sky or wall that is behind them will change
to something that fits in with the video or music. This could make it look like a
music video but I am letting people decide how they want to interpret it. I had
this idea after watching someone do something similar but they only used it for
an intro rather than the whole video. Which could look bad if you use it too much
but I am going to use it for relaxed clips rather than the trick clips.
The way I am going to evaluate my work will be the accuracy of how I wanted to
do it at the beginning and see if I changed anything that made the final product
better or worse. Also I am going to evaluate it on the background editing to see if
it fits with whatβs happening and if it has any noticeable faults such as fading into
the wrong area or effecting the surroundings because there is multiple areas
with that colour.
