Daniel Harrison reviewed the rough edit of his music video for the song "Wake Me Up" by Avichi. He acted in the video and assisted the director by ensuring they had the proper equipment, shots, and crew for filming. While he thought his first edit was good overall, he identified several things that needed improvement for the final edit, such as fading clips more smoothly, shortening longer shots, fixing a clip that didn't fit, and adjusting the brightness of some clips. He also noted that using a professional actor could make future music videos seem more professional.

Wake Me Up Music Video Rough Edit Review
My music video is wake me up by Avichi. I have done my basic edit on adobe premiere using simple
editing tools. My job for the making of the music video was to be the actor that is in the video but I
have also done several shots with the camera as well as assisting the director. My main role was to
act in the video and do what the director told me. But I also I helped the director with making sure
we had the right equipment, the right shots and also making sure everybody turned up for the
shooting of the clips . I also communicated with the camera man to make sure was that I was in
shots in the right place. I also made sure that we work as a team to make our music video.
.I thinks that I have done a good job for my first edit. Some of the advantages of my first edit are it is
in time with the song which makes it look professional. We have got a lot of good clear shots with
the cannon camera which is filmed in 1080p this makes it look very good quality footage. We have
also got a lot of good angles with are which makes the video run smoothly. There are also a lot of
good timed cut away’s which make the music video not seem as though it is slow paced . I have also
added a tint effect on the video which is meant to symbolise that the small part of the video is set in
the past tense I think that I have done a good job at making look as though it was met to be in the
past.
There are also a lot of things that need to be improved when I do my final edit. The first being that I
have added a few fade in I don’t like the look of these I thought that If I did this It would look
smoother but now I have looked back it does not look right so I am going to just make them cut
away . Another thing that needs to be fixed is the beginning of the song jumps in too quickly and
sudden so in my final edit I will need to make it fade in this will make it smoother when going into
the song instead of it going strength into it. Another thing that I must change in my final edit of my
music video , Is that some of my shots drag on for too long for example the shot which I am wiping
my hands it last too long for a spot that not much is happening in it . So when I make my final edit I
should shorten some of the longer clips so it does not drag on some of the less important parts.
There is also one shot at 2.15 that does not fit into what is happening at the begin and end of the
shot so I will probably get rid of that shot in the final edit and replace it with another clip one that
fits the scene more .Also I have put in some text for the past part of the video I have done this to
show more clearly that it is the past. But the text needs to be change into a different font because I
don’t like the one that I have used, I also might try to make the text go behind my head which I will
do on after affects using masks .There are also a few clips at the end that are too bright compared to
the others this is because on the day of shooting them clips it was a sunnier day than in the last set
of clips , To fix this I shall play around with the brightness of these clips to make them look like the
same brightness as the previous clips .Also when making the video we did not have any contact with
acting agency’s so we only had me for the actor this does not give the video the professional so if we
make another music video we will find somebody who is a professional actor to play are the acting
parts .
