Production Reflection
Imogen Minto
Process
• The first week of production I have started the layout for my magazine. The front cover of the magazine I have done some lines
in a corner to add some patterns to it to make it look more eye-catching as I started to think It might look a little plain as I think
I’m going to be adding some colour with the outfits I choose when picking the photos.
• I’ve also made the double page spread the first one is about the sketches I have also made I’ve just done the layout of what I
might want it to look like. I did the sketches on paper I will need to scan them in to the computer so I can add them to magazine
and then add the text I have written up for them on word.
• The next double page spread is about the model wearing the clothing in the studio but I wont be taking the photos till next
week. I haven't done a lot in that one yet but u have done the background for both which I have screenshots off.
This is the pattern I did for the front cover. I did this by going onto
Photoshop and getting the ‘line tool’ and started to create lines until I
was happy with the look. At fist the lines were really faint as you might
be able to see so I thought I would make some lines stand out more by
clicking on a layer that had a line and doubled tapped on it to bring up
the layer style and went to the bottom to drop shadow and messed
around with the settings to make the line look thicker even though I just
made a shadow.
I then created another bit underneath them set of lines to make it look a
little more exciting and different and I did the exact thing the to the
other one.
The last part I did this week for the magazine front cover was adding the title for it. I chose naked
as I thought it went well with the theme I’m wanting to do. As you will see in the other
PowerPoint’s. I chose the font I wanted which is again in the PowerPoint’s but the font I chose for
this is called ‘Orator std’ I really like font as its bold and and easy to read as its spread out
equally.
You can see that I have put the title of the magazine on top of the lines I did. I did this because I
feel it creates a very interesting look to it than it just being the title on it’s own with the
background being white as that would look boring and not interest my target audience.
Process
After I took the pictures of my model I chose
ones I thought would look good for the front
cover. I liked these photos because I feel that
they look professional compared to the other
pictures I took. I really like the one where my
model is looking to her left. What I did to edit
them which I have actually fund a better way to
do now when I’m doing other edits for my other
images but with this one I went onto images at
the top and then went down to auto contrast
which made it brighter a little bit. However
when I edit my new pictures I have found a
better way to brighten the pictures up and
change the colour tone to make it a little bit
more colourful as the tone in this picture is
quite neutral and dull as its darker.
Process
As you can see here that I have edited this picture and chose a different image
for the for front cover as well. So here I actually wanted to experiment with the
effects of changing the brightness and the colour balance as it was quite dark
before. So what I did was go on image and adjustments and starting clicking
on
Which brought up all different colour balances I could change to make the
picture look like the bottom picture. I also found out new things to edit
pictures with to make them loo more air brushed and make things stand out
even more so what I id to try out and see what I could do to improve my
picture was clicking on ‘quick mask’ and made sure I was on filter and went
down to blur then Gaussian blur and messed around with how much blur I
wanted my model to have I didn’t want to have it too strong to the point
where it was obvious that I edited it but I did go a little more dramatic than as
I wanted to experiment first before actually doing my final piece. I also did a
similar thing with the eyes so clicked on ‘quick mask making sure I was on the
black colour and then zoomed into the eyes and coloured them in which you
will see in the next slide when I actually do my proper front cover. Then with
the colour white which erases the colour over the pupil then clicked the quick
mask again which selected what I just did and went to image adjustments and
clicked on colour balance and hue/saturation and messed around with making
my models eyes a brighter blue to make them pop on the cover.
Original
As you can see from the first image it’s the original one that I took in the studio a couple of
weeks ago, then with the other images I edited them to create a brighter look as you can see.
How I made it brighter was going on the layer of the photo then clicked on image,
adjustments, brightness and contrast and messed around on there to see what looked good I
didn’t get any screenshots of what I chose because I just wanted to mess around and see
what I could do and didn’t really think it would work and I clicked on other styles in
adjustments like hue/saturation one and moved things around there to create the bottom
picture which I really like the look off.
Another thing I did was made the eyes stand out more as I when I
look at magazines online I can see that they make the eyes stand out
the most as that attracts people eyes straight to theirs. How I did this
was by going on edit in quick mask and made sure I was brush tool
and the colour black and started to draw around the eye which made
them go red as you can see in the middle photo so it going from
normal on the left image to the next picture then clicked on the
white colour which removed the red colour and I did that for the
black bit in the eye ‘pupil’ so when I click on image and adjustments
and then clicked on the colour changes like brightness or
hue/saturation ones and made the blue stand out more.
As you can see in the picture underneath the eyes the face with the
red stuff all over my models face I did the same thing as I did =with
the eyes but on the face but instead of changing the colour as that
wouldn’t look realistic I wanted to smooth put the face a little to
make it look air brushed as most magazine producers like to make
the model look beautiful and look like they’re not wearing a lot of
makeup. So I went onto filter and blur and then to Gaussian blur and
changed the levels to where I wanted it which wasn’t very strong so
it still looked natural and not look like I edited her face and when I
was done I clicked ok and zoomed put to see the whole page and it
looked very natural but smoother.
Edited
I wanted the title behind the models head so the model could standout.
The way I did this was first moved the model layer behind the title layer
but because the picture has a background to it so the title was then
covered so I thought I’d move the picture back to where it was then got
the rubber tool and went over the title bit to make it look like it was
behind the models head.
For the top picture of the ‘NEW, fashion and sketches’ I’ve added to the cover of the magazine. I wanted
something to pop so I changed the words ‘new’ to a yellow as it adds colour to the cover and makes it
stand out to the eye. The font I used for the words new was ‘Abadi MT Condensed Extra Bold Regular’ I
liked it because it was bold but still looking professional to the eye than it being all fancy handwriting I
wanted it to be bold so you could also see the yellow colour as it’s a light colour and hard to see. With
the fashion and sketches the font I used for this them both was ‘Perpetua Titling MT light’ which is easy
to read and isn’t too bold where I looks too much when looking at it, its got a nice look to it with the
bold with the word ‘new’ above it.
For this part of the magazine which is still on the front cover I liked the way it looked with the models
name to be bigger with the the other words to be smaller which makes the name pop out the most but
still noticing the other words around it. The font I used for this part was ‘PT Sans Regular’ I made all the
text go to the left side and with the models name I made it go to the left as well but wanted ‘Amy’ to be
more onto of ‘Foster’. I liked this font as it’s subtle but still looks nice to look at . I like it because its
similar to the other fonts that I have used by the way its spread out its not like fancy font where its all
joint together making it hard to look at I want all my text to be clear and easy to read as it will attract
more people to my magazine.
I also have added ‘do you only better’ as this magazine is to let girls that like fashion to wear whatever they
want and feel confident in so by saying do you only better they can look at that and feel good about
themselves. The font I used for this was ‘Rockwell Regular’ again very similar to the fonts I’ve used but the
space between each letter. I also changed the ‘only better’ to yellow as well to match the words ‘New’.
The last bit I added was the issue and the date I did this because when I was looking at magazines it had
this on the magazine so I thought make it look like an actual magazine as that’s what I’m aiming to do.
The font I used was the same as the ‘AMY FOSTER’ part which is the ‘PT Sans Regular’ as I liked this font
the most so thought id use the same as the other one.
Original These 2 are the same one bigger
This is the one I chose
Similar to
the last one
but thicker
One I don’t like
As you can see here are some different fonts for my models name ‘AMY FOSTER’ the first one is the original one
that I started off with and decided it wasn’t standing out as much as I wanted it to so I went on to dafont and
chose a font that I felt would look good but at first I just got a few that I thought might look good with it so the
first one I got was actually the one on the right which to me gave space vibes which is not what I'm going for so I
then I chose the one next to it which is the thicker one which I thought looked okay but I still felt it looked simple
so that’s why I went to the one net to it and chose that one for my magazine because even though it’s very similar
to the one before it just felt it would work easier for what I did next to it. I do like all of them even the one on the
far right I feel that it looks cool but it would go with my theme very well but I like what the font did to the A.
So this is the one I chose from the other slide and said what I wanted to do next
with it would make it look better and would work a lot easier as the one before
the one I actually chose which you would of seen in the slide before it wasn’t
really work very well as you can see from the images below this one. I also very
quickly made the font bigger so it went over the models body to make it stand out
even more.
Next thing I did to the font was messed around with it to create
this cool effect as it would add more to the cover as it was
looking quite bland so what I did was, I went onto character
and changed this part to 132pt which separated the font like
this and I made sure the A was leveled with F and the same
with the Y and the R.
This is the final thing I did for that part of the magazine so I copied the name
and moved it over a little to create a shadow and then changed the colour the
yellow to fit the yellow sub-headings so it all matched and it created this which
I think looks really good I like how its different I never really see this and if I do
its usually with a white colour behind it so I thought going yellow would look
better and cooler.
3 slides up you can see what I did to make my magazine look
like the old version and decided it didn’t look so good, not very
eye catching which is what I’m trying to do to get people to like
it especially my target audience. So I decided to change it to
this which you will see here.
So I moved the ‘Internet Superstar’ above my models
name as I thought it was the best place to put it and made
sense as its about my model so putting it above her name
people would know who we are on about. I also changed
the issue part for the magazine I put it under the title of
the magazine as it made more sense an where magazine
companies usually put it so I changed that and the last
part I changed was the sub-headings which I changed lot
to be honest because before in yellow it said ‘new’ and
now it has “do you but better’ and ‘Identity Matters’
which is kind of an inspiration for people who read the
magazine as we want people to be positive about
themselves and others.
Process
For the first double page spread I wanted to add a pastel blue colour to it, as I want some colour to my magazine so I chose this
colour as I thought it’s not in your face and will still be able to read the text.
The next bit I did was the title for this page which is sketches, and I thought instead of it just bring sketches in a normal form like
the way I’m typing now so I thought id change it up and make it look a little more interesting and fun to look at so I went onto
wrap text and clicked on style and went on to squeeze and started to mess around with the bend, horizontal and vertical distortion
to create the look in the middle picture. In the last image on the left can see I drew a sketch of a model to fit the theme of this
page and I feel that it makes it look prettier than it just being the title and that’s it. I add two dots on either side just to make it
look cuter and have more to it.
On the other side I started to type up the work I wrote on
word and put it under the photos I’m wanting the sketches to
be. I’m not entirely sure if I want to keep it like this for the
layout but I will see when it come to adding the sketches in.
the other way I would make the layout be is having the
images on the side like this but I
thought it wouldn’t look that
professional as most magazine have
the column look to them as it
looks professional and easier to
read.
Process
• In todays work I sorted out the text, making sure they’re all
levelled and the same size. I also made the first letters
bigger for each one so people know they’re talking about
different things for each picture. As you can see in the
bottom photo I levelled the text and the photos out by
getting the blue lines to help me level out the two things I
wanted to look right and look professional as it wouldn’t
look to great if the text and the pictures aren’t levelled or
the text is too big.
• I also changed the font for the word sketches I wanted it to
match the theme in a way it looking like I wrote it out
myself to fit the sketches as they will be drawn out. I got
the font from dafont and I wrote in the search bar on
dafont ‘sketches’ and looked through some to see which
one I liked the most.
• What I’m wanting to do next for this page is maybe add
more text to each sketch as that will make it look better
personally as there isn’t a lot of text for each one so if I
wrote out more for all of them it will look like a proper
magazine and look interesting as well as It looks quite
bland still but hopefully when I add the sketches to t and
wrote more it will look a lot better.
So what I did next was added more text to each column of
clothing descriptions because I felt that there wasn’t enough
text. It looked a little weird as it stopped half way on the
page so thought I’d add more text to make it look a lot more
interesting.
Moved the title bit ‘sketches’ to the top of the page instead
of it staying in the middle as I still had 2 more outfits to talk
about and didn’t want to make another slide for just 2
outfits so I thought to make it look better and more like
magazine to put it all together. I also feel because I have a
double page spread of just pictures I thought id balance it
out with a whole page full of writing but still have pictures
on it as well which are the sketches which you will see in the
bottom photo.
I decided to change the rectangles up right because it
would fit the sketches in a lot better as they are
horizontal where the boxes were landscape. With the
sketches I drew them on piece od papers and then
scanned them into the computer to then put then
place them in there right places as you can see in the
picture at the top has text saying what outfit is what
so it made it easier for me to know where to put each
sketch.
Here’s a few photos I took of my model.
Process
The first bit I did was the same as the other double page spread but this one is
green instead. I’m not sure how I’m wanting to lay this on out. Like with the
other one I changed when I put the text on but I'm thinking I might do the same
layout like the last double page spread and because I have more images of the
model as this one is about the actual clothing I will want to add more to it so I
will make a couple of pages for this fashion one. Plus when I look at magazines
on the internet all of them have a column look to them so I will want to add that
to mine so it looks like a magazine as that’s what I’m aiming for. I might change
the font as well for this slide too but I will see when I go on dafont which is
where I got the other one from. What I will be doing next for this one is going on
word to write up what I’m wanting to add for each outfit I took a picture off.
Before
What I did today was focus on this page for the magazine. I wanted to t least
start it to get an idea of what I wanted to do because before I did anything
with it, as you could of seen in the slides before it was only fashion on one
side and then 3 boxes and didn’t really know what to do with it so I decided
to go onto Photoshop and start editing the pictures I took off my model in the
studio of the ones I wanted and then just placed them around the 2 pages of
this page to see what I could do with them. I started to look on Google again
to see what magazine double page spread looked like to try and get an idea
off what I wanted.
What I decided to do was create columns so I clicked on the rectangle tool
and 4 little square boxes which you can see in the pictures on the left and
paced the boxes inside the rectangle shape to then get the photo’s I edited
and put it in front of the square and clicked on the picture layer and pressed
on ‘create clipping mask’ making sure the square box was under the picture
layer so the photo would go inside of the box like you can see in the photo at
the bottom.
The picture I took of my model is
above the square box so when I click
the’ create clipping mask’ it will go
inside the box.
This is what it ended up looking like, I am wanting to change up the some of the photos
to someone else either me or another friend to make it look more exciting than just
having the same model throughout the whole magazine as magazine don’t usually have
one model in it they get different females to wear the same clothing so people see what
it looks like on different people.
The next bit I did was the other side of the magazine and I wanted to make it look like a
polaroid picture so I did this by clicking on the rectangle tool and made the white part as you
can see in the picture on the left. I then got the tool again and made a smaller rectangle in the
shape and put it higher up leaving space at the bottom to make it look like a polaroid photo I
thought it was a really nice look to this page as its full of pictures and wanted it to fit the
theme of it all which I feel like it does. As then as you can see with the picture at the bottom is
the completed bit I might add more to it if I think of more ideas but so far I’m really liking the
way it looks.
So this is the completed look but like I said I might add more to it if I get
more ideas, I do want to change some of the pictures to another model to
change it up a little but I feel that’s all I will do. I also added ‘fashion’ on the
bottom bit of the polaroid to make it look like it was written on. The font I
used for the word ‘fashion’ was ‘BeautyDream Regular’ which I think is a
really nice looking handwriting font to again fir the theme for this page.

Production Reflection

  • 2. Process • The first week of production I have started the layout for my magazine. The front cover of the magazine I have done some lines in a corner to add some patterns to it to make it look more eye-catching as I started to think It might look a little plain as I think I’m going to be adding some colour with the outfits I choose when picking the photos. • I’ve also made the double page spread the first one is about the sketches I have also made I’ve just done the layout of what I might want it to look like. I did the sketches on paper I will need to scan them in to the computer so I can add them to magazine and then add the text I have written up for them on word. • The next double page spread is about the model wearing the clothing in the studio but I wont be taking the photos till next week. I haven't done a lot in that one yet but u have done the background for both which I have screenshots off. This is the pattern I did for the front cover. I did this by going onto Photoshop and getting the ‘line tool’ and started to create lines until I was happy with the look. At fist the lines were really faint as you might be able to see so I thought I would make some lines stand out more by clicking on a layer that had a line and doubled tapped on it to bring up the layer style and went to the bottom to drop shadow and messed around with the settings to make the line look thicker even though I just made a shadow. I then created another bit underneath them set of lines to make it look a little more exciting and different and I did the exact thing the to the other one. The last part I did this week for the magazine front cover was adding the title for it. I chose naked as I thought it went well with the theme I’m wanting to do. As you will see in the other PowerPoint’s. I chose the font I wanted which is again in the PowerPoint’s but the font I chose for this is called ‘Orator std’ I really like font as its bold and and easy to read as its spread out equally. You can see that I have put the title of the magazine on top of the lines I did. I did this because I feel it creates a very interesting look to it than it just being the title on it’s own with the background being white as that would look boring and not interest my target audience.
  • 3. Process After I took the pictures of my model I chose ones I thought would look good for the front cover. I liked these photos because I feel that they look professional compared to the other pictures I took. I really like the one where my model is looking to her left. What I did to edit them which I have actually fund a better way to do now when I’m doing other edits for my other images but with this one I went onto images at the top and then went down to auto contrast which made it brighter a little bit. However when I edit my new pictures I have found a better way to brighten the pictures up and change the colour tone to make it a little bit more colourful as the tone in this picture is quite neutral and dull as its darker.
  • 4. Process As you can see here that I have edited this picture and chose a different image for the for front cover as well. So here I actually wanted to experiment with the effects of changing the brightness and the colour balance as it was quite dark before. So what I did was go on image and adjustments and starting clicking on Which brought up all different colour balances I could change to make the picture look like the bottom picture. I also found out new things to edit pictures with to make them loo more air brushed and make things stand out even more so what I id to try out and see what I could do to improve my picture was clicking on ‘quick mask’ and made sure I was on filter and went down to blur then Gaussian blur and messed around with how much blur I wanted my model to have I didn’t want to have it too strong to the point where it was obvious that I edited it but I did go a little more dramatic than as I wanted to experiment first before actually doing my final piece. I also did a similar thing with the eyes so clicked on ‘quick mask making sure I was on the black colour and then zoomed into the eyes and coloured them in which you will see in the next slide when I actually do my proper front cover. Then with the colour white which erases the colour over the pupil then clicked the quick mask again which selected what I just did and went to image adjustments and clicked on colour balance and hue/saturation and messed around with making my models eyes a brighter blue to make them pop on the cover.
  • 5. Original As you can see from the first image it’s the original one that I took in the studio a couple of weeks ago, then with the other images I edited them to create a brighter look as you can see. How I made it brighter was going on the layer of the photo then clicked on image, adjustments, brightness and contrast and messed around on there to see what looked good I didn’t get any screenshots of what I chose because I just wanted to mess around and see what I could do and didn’t really think it would work and I clicked on other styles in adjustments like hue/saturation one and moved things around there to create the bottom picture which I really like the look off. Another thing I did was made the eyes stand out more as I when I look at magazines online I can see that they make the eyes stand out the most as that attracts people eyes straight to theirs. How I did this was by going on edit in quick mask and made sure I was brush tool and the colour black and started to draw around the eye which made them go red as you can see in the middle photo so it going from normal on the left image to the next picture then clicked on the white colour which removed the red colour and I did that for the black bit in the eye ‘pupil’ so when I click on image and adjustments and then clicked on the colour changes like brightness or hue/saturation ones and made the blue stand out more. As you can see in the picture underneath the eyes the face with the red stuff all over my models face I did the same thing as I did =with the eyes but on the face but instead of changing the colour as that wouldn’t look realistic I wanted to smooth put the face a little to make it look air brushed as most magazine producers like to make the model look beautiful and look like they’re not wearing a lot of makeup. So I went onto filter and blur and then to Gaussian blur and changed the levels to where I wanted it which wasn’t very strong so it still looked natural and not look like I edited her face and when I was done I clicked ok and zoomed put to see the whole page and it looked very natural but smoother. Edited
  • 6. I wanted the title behind the models head so the model could standout. The way I did this was first moved the model layer behind the title layer but because the picture has a background to it so the title was then covered so I thought I’d move the picture back to where it was then got the rubber tool and went over the title bit to make it look like it was behind the models head. For the top picture of the ‘NEW, fashion and sketches’ I’ve added to the cover of the magazine. I wanted something to pop so I changed the words ‘new’ to a yellow as it adds colour to the cover and makes it stand out to the eye. The font I used for the words new was ‘Abadi MT Condensed Extra Bold Regular’ I liked it because it was bold but still looking professional to the eye than it being all fancy handwriting I wanted it to be bold so you could also see the yellow colour as it’s a light colour and hard to see. With the fashion and sketches the font I used for this them both was ‘Perpetua Titling MT light’ which is easy to read and isn’t too bold where I looks too much when looking at it, its got a nice look to it with the bold with the word ‘new’ above it. For this part of the magazine which is still on the front cover I liked the way it looked with the models name to be bigger with the the other words to be smaller which makes the name pop out the most but still noticing the other words around it. The font I used for this part was ‘PT Sans Regular’ I made all the text go to the left side and with the models name I made it go to the left as well but wanted ‘Amy’ to be more onto of ‘Foster’. I liked this font as it’s subtle but still looks nice to look at . I like it because its similar to the other fonts that I have used by the way its spread out its not like fancy font where its all joint together making it hard to look at I want all my text to be clear and easy to read as it will attract more people to my magazine. I also have added ‘do you only better’ as this magazine is to let girls that like fashion to wear whatever they want and feel confident in so by saying do you only better they can look at that and feel good about themselves. The font I used for this was ‘Rockwell Regular’ again very similar to the fonts I’ve used but the space between each letter. I also changed the ‘only better’ to yellow as well to match the words ‘New’. The last bit I added was the issue and the date I did this because when I was looking at magazines it had this on the magazine so I thought make it look like an actual magazine as that’s what I’m aiming to do. The font I used was the same as the ‘AMY FOSTER’ part which is the ‘PT Sans Regular’ as I liked this font the most so thought id use the same as the other one.
  • 7. Original These 2 are the same one bigger This is the one I chose Similar to the last one but thicker One I don’t like As you can see here are some different fonts for my models name ‘AMY FOSTER’ the first one is the original one that I started off with and decided it wasn’t standing out as much as I wanted it to so I went on to dafont and chose a font that I felt would look good but at first I just got a few that I thought might look good with it so the first one I got was actually the one on the right which to me gave space vibes which is not what I'm going for so I then I chose the one next to it which is the thicker one which I thought looked okay but I still felt it looked simple so that’s why I went to the one net to it and chose that one for my magazine because even though it’s very similar to the one before it just felt it would work easier for what I did next to it. I do like all of them even the one on the far right I feel that it looks cool but it would go with my theme very well but I like what the font did to the A.
  • 8. So this is the one I chose from the other slide and said what I wanted to do next with it would make it look better and would work a lot easier as the one before the one I actually chose which you would of seen in the slide before it wasn’t really work very well as you can see from the images below this one. I also very quickly made the font bigger so it went over the models body to make it stand out even more. Next thing I did to the font was messed around with it to create this cool effect as it would add more to the cover as it was looking quite bland so what I did was, I went onto character and changed this part to 132pt which separated the font like this and I made sure the A was leveled with F and the same with the Y and the R. This is the final thing I did for that part of the magazine so I copied the name and moved it over a little to create a shadow and then changed the colour the yellow to fit the yellow sub-headings so it all matched and it created this which I think looks really good I like how its different I never really see this and if I do its usually with a white colour behind it so I thought going yellow would look better and cooler.
  • 9. 3 slides up you can see what I did to make my magazine look like the old version and decided it didn’t look so good, not very eye catching which is what I’m trying to do to get people to like it especially my target audience. So I decided to change it to this which you will see here. So I moved the ‘Internet Superstar’ above my models name as I thought it was the best place to put it and made sense as its about my model so putting it above her name people would know who we are on about. I also changed the issue part for the magazine I put it under the title of the magazine as it made more sense an where magazine companies usually put it so I changed that and the last part I changed was the sub-headings which I changed lot to be honest because before in yellow it said ‘new’ and now it has “do you but better’ and ‘Identity Matters’ which is kind of an inspiration for people who read the magazine as we want people to be positive about themselves and others.
  • 10. Process For the first double page spread I wanted to add a pastel blue colour to it, as I want some colour to my magazine so I chose this colour as I thought it’s not in your face and will still be able to read the text. The next bit I did was the title for this page which is sketches, and I thought instead of it just bring sketches in a normal form like the way I’m typing now so I thought id change it up and make it look a little more interesting and fun to look at so I went onto wrap text and clicked on style and went on to squeeze and started to mess around with the bend, horizontal and vertical distortion to create the look in the middle picture. In the last image on the left can see I drew a sketch of a model to fit the theme of this page and I feel that it makes it look prettier than it just being the title and that’s it. I add two dots on either side just to make it look cuter and have more to it. On the other side I started to type up the work I wrote on word and put it under the photos I’m wanting the sketches to be. I’m not entirely sure if I want to keep it like this for the layout but I will see when it come to adding the sketches in. the other way I would make the layout be is having the images on the side like this but I thought it wouldn’t look that professional as most magazine have the column look to them as it looks professional and easier to read.
  • 11. Process • In todays work I sorted out the text, making sure they’re all levelled and the same size. I also made the first letters bigger for each one so people know they’re talking about different things for each picture. As you can see in the bottom photo I levelled the text and the photos out by getting the blue lines to help me level out the two things I wanted to look right and look professional as it wouldn’t look to great if the text and the pictures aren’t levelled or the text is too big. • I also changed the font for the word sketches I wanted it to match the theme in a way it looking like I wrote it out myself to fit the sketches as they will be drawn out. I got the font from dafont and I wrote in the search bar on dafont ‘sketches’ and looked through some to see which one I liked the most. • What I’m wanting to do next for this page is maybe add more text to each sketch as that will make it look better personally as there isn’t a lot of text for each one so if I wrote out more for all of them it will look like a proper magazine and look interesting as well as It looks quite bland still but hopefully when I add the sketches to t and wrote more it will look a lot better.
  • 12. So what I did next was added more text to each column of clothing descriptions because I felt that there wasn’t enough text. It looked a little weird as it stopped half way on the page so thought I’d add more text to make it look a lot more interesting. Moved the title bit ‘sketches’ to the top of the page instead of it staying in the middle as I still had 2 more outfits to talk about and didn’t want to make another slide for just 2 outfits so I thought to make it look better and more like magazine to put it all together. I also feel because I have a double page spread of just pictures I thought id balance it out with a whole page full of writing but still have pictures on it as well which are the sketches which you will see in the bottom photo. I decided to change the rectangles up right because it would fit the sketches in a lot better as they are horizontal where the boxes were landscape. With the sketches I drew them on piece od papers and then scanned them into the computer to then put then place them in there right places as you can see in the picture at the top has text saying what outfit is what so it made it easier for me to know where to put each sketch.
  • 13. Here’s a few photos I took of my model.
  • 14. Process The first bit I did was the same as the other double page spread but this one is green instead. I’m not sure how I’m wanting to lay this on out. Like with the other one I changed when I put the text on but I'm thinking I might do the same layout like the last double page spread and because I have more images of the model as this one is about the actual clothing I will want to add more to it so I will make a couple of pages for this fashion one. Plus when I look at magazines on the internet all of them have a column look to them so I will want to add that to mine so it looks like a magazine as that’s what I’m aiming for. I might change the font as well for this slide too but I will see when I go on dafont which is where I got the other one from. What I will be doing next for this one is going on word to write up what I’m wanting to add for each outfit I took a picture off.
  • 15. Before What I did today was focus on this page for the magazine. I wanted to t least start it to get an idea of what I wanted to do because before I did anything with it, as you could of seen in the slides before it was only fashion on one side and then 3 boxes and didn’t really know what to do with it so I decided to go onto Photoshop and start editing the pictures I took off my model in the studio of the ones I wanted and then just placed them around the 2 pages of this page to see what I could do with them. I started to look on Google again to see what magazine double page spread looked like to try and get an idea off what I wanted. What I decided to do was create columns so I clicked on the rectangle tool and 4 little square boxes which you can see in the pictures on the left and paced the boxes inside the rectangle shape to then get the photo’s I edited and put it in front of the square and clicked on the picture layer and pressed on ‘create clipping mask’ making sure the square box was under the picture layer so the photo would go inside of the box like you can see in the photo at the bottom. The picture I took of my model is above the square box so when I click the’ create clipping mask’ it will go inside the box.
  • 16. This is what it ended up looking like, I am wanting to change up the some of the photos to someone else either me or another friend to make it look more exciting than just having the same model throughout the whole magazine as magazine don’t usually have one model in it they get different females to wear the same clothing so people see what it looks like on different people. The next bit I did was the other side of the magazine and I wanted to make it look like a polaroid picture so I did this by clicking on the rectangle tool and made the white part as you can see in the picture on the left. I then got the tool again and made a smaller rectangle in the shape and put it higher up leaving space at the bottom to make it look like a polaroid photo I thought it was a really nice look to this page as its full of pictures and wanted it to fit the theme of it all which I feel like it does. As then as you can see with the picture at the bottom is the completed bit I might add more to it if I think of more ideas but so far I’m really liking the way it looks. So this is the completed look but like I said I might add more to it if I get more ideas, I do want to change some of the pictures to another model to change it up a little but I feel that’s all I will do. I also added ‘fashion’ on the bottom bit of the polaroid to make it look like it was written on. The font I used for the word ‘fashion’ was ‘BeautyDream Regular’ which I think is a really nice looking handwriting font to again fir the theme for this page.
