Actor- I have chosen to have a male artist since the rap genre is predominantly
made up of men and they are the one that are most successfulin my chosen
style of music.
Also for mine it is not important who I choseto be on my album cover. As my
actor’s face will be hidden behind a hood, and the actor will be looking down.
This means that it is like other album covers in that genre as from my research
I can tell that rap album covers are normally made of quite bleak dark colours.
Using bright colours will limit my audience as if I use colours that are similar to
the rap style it means that straightaway my audience can tell what genre my
album is and they can instantly know whether or not they would enjoy the
album and if they will enjoy the Rap genre
Costume- My album cover will be a mid-shotof a person, so the customer can
only see my actor fromthe waistup. My actor will be wearing something with
a hood to hide their face. I will not need any makeup due to the fact my actors
face will not be shown. Theclothing will need to be dark as it needs to still use
connotations that are to the rap genre. As rappers hardly ever wears bright
colours. You could say the clothes that the artist wears reflect the style of
music as both are quite bleak. As rap music rarely has any progression and can
be negative.
Location- For my location I will be using a dark roomas I wantto usevery bleak
colours to keep with the genre. I also wantthe album to be quite mysterious
and therefore intriguing for the customer and will increasesales. Using a dark
roomalso means it will be easier to photoshop as all the colours arequite dark
and dull and are very easy to work with.
