1. Shot Types
In this PowerPoint, I will be explaining
why I used certain shot types whilst
filming in The Harrison Pub.
2. I recorded my artist lip synching with this shot. I have used the rule of thirds, and added
strong lighting to the stage which allows my artist to be highlighted and be the main
focus. This shot worked out well as my artist looked at the camera every now and then
to show he’s interacting with the audience. Also by having this shot type, the audience
were able to clearly look at the artist lip synching. I recorded my artist lip synching from
this angle a few times, however I used different lighting each time such as a purple and
red effect. This gave the video a vintage/retro effect.
3. I recorded my artist lip synching with this shot. I positioned the camera so the audience/viewers
can see part of the setting my artist was in. For example, I purposely put the big speaker in the
shot to portray that the artist is performing live on a stage. Again I used strong lighting to
highlight certain features on the artist. I also used this shot type to give the audience the artist’s
style. For example, his hair is shown clearly in this shot. This shot worked out well as by having
this, we were able to get the artist to lip synch properly and not mess up as it would be
noticeable in this shot. Therefore this shows that he had to be professional about it, and not
mess around.
4. This shot is similar to the previous one. However I thought it was best to try getting in
the lights around the bar within the shot. By doing this, it reflected the mood of the
song. Also it gives the audience a sense of the artist’s personality. For example, the lights
could show that this artist is a chilled out person. Filming this show went well as the
artist again got to look at the camera whilst lip synching which shows him being
professional as artist’s do that to interact with the audience and make it seem as though
they are singing the song to them.
5. This shot shows the female protagonist whilst she’s kidnapped. I decided to do this as
a close up shot because I thought getting the females features would show the
audience what she looks like and also highlight her features which would be
considered pretty such as the eyes. The lighting in this shot again highlights these
features. The close up shots of the female were successful as we were also able to see
her expressions clearly and get a sense of what she’s feeling and as if she’s waiting to
be saved.
