Artist name ideas
1. Artist Name Ideas
Robyn Rayner:
The name Robyn when spoken
sounds like a unisex name which
suits the artists personality as
she is not influenced by the
stereotypes of gender.
Sophie Rayner:
For this example I have
chosen to keep the actors
first name and change her
last name to ‘Rayner’. This
has similar syllables to the
word ‘rainbow’ which in
the gay community
suggests pride.
G.G:
G.G stands for ‘gay girl’ which could fit
the artists style in her attempt to
decline the stigma around the LGBTQ+
community. G.G is short and snappy but
by the use of repetition it seems to
have a cheerful ring to it.
Soph:
I chose just a first name for my
artist to make it short and snappy.
The shortening of the name
Sophie to Soph allows the fanbase
to feel as though they know the
artist on a personal level, hence
the choice of a nickname.
Alex Adams:
This name could suit the artist due to its
alliteration making it memorable. The
forename Alex remains gender neutral,
and could either be a nickname for
Alexandra or Alexander. Should the artist
want to conceal their gender or instead be
fluid, this is a name that works for both.
2. Final Name Chosen:
I have chosen the name Robyn Rayner for my artist. I decided on this name due
to its alliteration as it makes it memorable to the fanbase. As well as there
being alliteration, the letters ‘yn’ feature in both the forename and last name,
meaning I can get creative when making my artist logo. I also chose the last
name ‘Rayner’ because the first syllable ‘ray’ has connotation of both a ray of
sunshine creating feelings of happiness, as well as sounding similar to the word
‘rainbow’ which in the gay community signifies pride. Both of these values are
representations which the artist wishes to convey in not only her everyday life
but across her branding as an aspirational figure to young impressionable
individuals.
