3. RESEARCH
Overall I am happy with how the research went and think it
helped a lot for when it came to filming the music video
and the planning of it. The research of looking at different
music videos helped me decide on things like colour
schemes and the overall genre and style of video I wanted
to make.
Next time to improve I will research in more depth and
detail in terms of what elements I want to take to use as
inspiration and how I can use my research in my own work.
4. PLANNING
For the most part I am happy with how the planning went, I
found the mood boards with notes along side of them and
using loads of photos really helped with putting together
how I wanted to make the music video and feel like I got
down what I needed with enough detail for me to work from
it.
However with planning I should’ve been more realistic with
things like location and time management especially as when
it came to filming I wasn’t able to get all of the things on my
storyboards.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
When it came to filming I definitely could’ve managed my
time a lot better as I was a bit too optimistic with how
much I thought I could’ve got done. So on any future
projects I will plan things more realistically and come up
with a better time schedule. Although I did manage to get
everything planned, filmed and edited on time and made
changes to some plans to make sure it was done, I’ll
definitely make improvements on time management.
6. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
Mine Others
Television Romance – Pale Waves
Mystery Girl – Alexandra Savior
I took inspiration from some of the music videos from the
research and I am happy with the outcome as I feel like
they show some clear similarities but don’t look like exact
copies.
7. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
Mine Other
There’s A Honey – Pale Waves
One of the main things I wanted to highlight in editing was
the use of colour, I found the Pale Waves video a good video
to take inspiration as the colour theme is mainly pinks and
purples.
8. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
From the mood boards that I made and
wanted to use inspiration, I think for the
most part I stuck to the overall aesthetic
with using contrast of colours and dull clips
used mainly for b roll. I am happy with how
it looks and the effects used such as the
VHS overlay. To improve I would plan a
more specific and detailed storyboard/shot
list and shoot the shot a number of times so
it makes it easier putting footage in their
places when it comes to editing.
9. AUDIENCE APPEAL
With the entire video being based on a teenage girl I would say the
video would appeal it’s target audience of typically younger people.
I feel like the video being bright, bold and fast paced definitely
helps it reach the target audience as it is typically what would
naturally appeal and catch your eye.

14. PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I was very happy with my feedback and think that it further proved
that it has reached it’s target audience of a younger generation as
they are who gave me feedback. I also agree on the feedback of
spending more time on time management.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
There wasn’t really anything I disagree with, I was really happy with
my feedback.
15. PEER FEEDBACK SUMMARY
Based on my feedback I would change how I plan the
storyboards/shot lists and time management
specifically so I can get the video to be more accurate
to my plan when everything is finished.
