Research helped me massively with this project. One of the main strengths of my
research was watching other people’s short films, as that was one of the main
inspirations for helping me decide upon my idea and create it. I didn’t have any
weaknesses when it came to my research, apart from finding it difficult to find
similar concepts, which would inspire me, and influence mine in ways.
Planning was a major part of this project. Overall, I think that my planning went very
well, as when it came to coming up with short film ideas, I came up with a lot of
ideas. Some of the strengths of my research was that I spent a lot of time planning. I
enjoyed making my storyboard, and mood board. However, when it came to making
my short film they didn’t help at all. Overall the short film planning and pre-
production power point helped me the most with planning, and research. The main
strengths of my planning was the structure that I set down for myself. It helped me a
lot, as I knew what to do at what time. One of the main weaknesses of my planning
was the structure, towards the end of the project. If I had more time I would of
developed my idea even more, I would of also improved my short film planning and
pre-production power point by adding in more detail to my explanations. If I were to
add more planning, then I think that my short film would be a lot better as, I could of
further developed my ideas. Overall I think that planning helped my product a lot,
without the planning part of the project I would of not been able to have made my
short film. Planning helped me have a template where to start.
At the beginning of the project my time management was good, as I planned, and
structured my work out. This helped a lot, as I was always ahead ready for the next
task that I needed to do. However, more into the project my time management wasn’t
as good. Later near the end of the project my time management, was bad as I had lots
to do before the deadline. Therefore, next project I am going to maintain a constant
plan/structure to help complete the project. I managed to complete my project on time,
but I think with additional time I could have improved my work a lot more. When it came
to filming my short film and editing it, I didn’t have a lot of time. Therefore, my short film
isn’t to the best of my ability. If I had more time I would edit my short film again, this
time spending more time on it, getting it close to perfection. I would also get additional
footage for my short film, as some of the footage I filmed wasn’t the best of quality. I
would do this by filming over a weekend, so therefore I have a lot of time to film.

 What did you like about the product?
I liked the sound effects that were added into the film, they made
the film seem a lot more of a horror.
 What improvements could have been made to the product?
You could of made the scenes have more of an horror atmosphere,
through darkening them.
 What did you like about the product?
I liked that the whole film made sense, I also liked the concept of the
film itself.
 What improvements could have been made to the product?
One improvement you could of made was making the car scene more
visible as in the film you cant see who is in the car.
 What did you like about the product?
I liked how the sound effects used in the scene where you are
walking up the stairs to investigate the noise.
 What improvements could have been made to the product?
You could of made the loud bang in one of the scenes louder
because I could hardly hear it.
I agree with most of my feedback given. One that I agree upon the
most is that I needed to make the ‘car’ scene more visible, as you
could hardly see what was going on. I should of filmed at a more
suitable time, when it wasn’t raining. However, I only had a
certain time to film it, as I didn’t want it to be to dark nor to light.
Also I had only a certain time to film, because of the day that I
booked the camera, and tripod for. I also agree that I needed to
make the bang louder, because I also could hardly hear it when
watching it back. This was one of the things that I forgot to finish
before exporting the film. I agree, and disagree that I need to
make the scenes darker as, if I were I would not be able to see
the scene very well, but I get what they mean by making it more
of an ‘horror atmosphere’, as I don’t think it turned out like a
horror, short film at all.
I would make some of the sound effects louder, mainly the ‘bang’ sound effect,
as that is one of the main sound effects in the short film. I would also make
the car scene more visible, like mentioned in my feedback, as you can not
see the people in the car. One of the reasons I would make changes to the
above is because of the feedback given, and I think it would make my short
film a lot better.
