This is one of James Hetfields latest guitars that he
has made in collaboration with ESP Guitars. Whilst
James is known more for his Explorer body of
guitar, he’s always liked the Flying V style. This is
the latest of James’ collaboration with ESP guitar,
he has previously released 7 explorer style guitars.
This is one of Kirk Hammett’s most iconic guitars,
this guitar has been seen being used in the studio
when recording albums and has been used around
the world on many different tours, as such the
guitar has gained some character with chips and
nicks around the guitar which have built the
character of the guitar, it also has the iconic
“CAUTION HOT” sticker and a “KIRK’S GUITAR” label
on the body.

8. Pagination:
A plan for the pages of your book. What will be the cover? What will be the running order? What will go in it? How many
pages for each item? This is important to get right if you want it to print correctly later on. It will also help you plan the space
you have.
For my fanzine the cover is going to be a group shot of Metallica, I’m going to make my magazine name in the style of
the Metallica font. I’m also going to have sticker-like circle in the top corner saying ”Metallica Edition” as well as the
names of some of the albums running along to top and bottom of the cover.

The order of the magazine will be the front cover, then an album review of Ride The Lightning, then Master Of Puppets,
then And Justice For All, then the black album, then Through The Never (the live album from the motion picture), and
finally their newest album Hardwired to Self-Destruct, then I will have my interview and my back cover would be the cover
for the next issue. For each of the album reviews I will have a double page spread and then my interview will also be a
double page spread. The album review pages will have a theme and look inspired by the album that I’ll be talking about, I
will use the colour scheme that adobe colours have picked out of the album artwork.
10. Production schedule:
You have 3 weeks to complete your book along with any improvements. You need to plan this. What will you be doing each
week? How long should you spend on each task? How will you know if you are head or behind schedule?
In the first week I will do more research into the album I am going to review. I will then begin to take notes on the ideas
that went into the songs and the album itself. I will also look at the album artworks of the albums and take note of the
designs and the colour schemes of the albums and incorporate the designs into the background. I am hoping to have my
fanzine finished by the second week so that I can start to review and talk about my final magazine and look at some
improvements to make to my fanzine. I’m hoping to have my articles finished to a point so that I can just layout my fanzine
and just add my text and not have to worry about having to add more text I can just add the article.
