4. These 2 shades of purple of which I have put a rectangle round will be most likely used in the merchandise.
This is because I think that these two colors will look aesthetically pleasing on a t-shirt or hoodie. I will only use
one of these shade , the reason why I like this is because you see brands such as supreme and bape often using
light shades of purple. This is a non conventional color for merchandise and especially t-shirts as they are
usually just black or white.
For my magazine covers I may choose to use several of these shades. This is because
I am going to do possibly 3 different issues. one color which is quite conventional
for a magazine cover is the one with the rectangle round. This is conventional
because most colors stand out upon this background. This will be most likely used
for one of my issues. The red and the blue will also be used somewhere. This is
because I do like these colors and they also have connotations which reflect on the
style of music I am going to include. This being hip hop. One of reds connotations
being violence and one of blues is trust, both of these are associated with hip hop
rappers. These colors also stick out from a distance and draws the audiences
attention to them. This is one of the main aims for a magazine cover.
All the colors I include within this mood board will be most likely
used or considered. This is because I most likely either like these
colors or think that they would look good on one of these
products.
Some of these colors might look quite good on my logo or as the color of my text. This will be similar to
the nme text. This makes me not want to include this as a logo color however may have it as text. Overall
this will be considered. Something that sticks out and something vibrant will most likely be either the
color of the logo or the text. Logos such as the billboard one includes several colors
, this makes that logo stand out.

5. For my magazine front cover and on the future articles I will include images. These images will most
likely be a medium shot , medium long shot or a medium close up. This is because I want to show
the audience the whole artist. This is a convention of magazines as they mostly show the artist in
one of these shots. The shots will be taken in focus with a camera.
On my front cover I will most likely include a medium long shot or a medium shot. This is because I
think that it will be most astatically pleasing. This is because I feel that this will show the audience
the full artist. The medium sot or medium long shot will also show the artists clothing, this can be
edited to make it look expensive. The conventions of clothing what rappers wear are normally
statement pieces in the sense that they are normally baggy , bright and quite weird.
All these artists look like they have
baggy clothes or clothes that would
stick out If you were to seem them.
This is what my artist will be wearing
or if not I will edit it. Street wear such
as supreme and off white are usually
associated with rappers as they often
were them. These designs or logos
could be edited on. I will include this
as the music my magazine is going to
be focused around is going to be hip
hop and rap. I want my magazine to
look as conventional as possible so I
want to include similar details.

6. I was thinking for my magazine to also have its own
merchandise. This would be similar to thrasher magazine in the
sense that there is a brand behind there magazine. The
merchandise will most likely be basic t-shirts however they will
have the magazine logo or mast head on. For example one idea
could be to have the masthead on each sleeve. For my
merchandise I will also probably add some hats or beanies as
well. This is because they are very popular clothing items.
I am also thinking about either
making a a4 advert for my
magazine/merchandise or make
a banner. The banner would be
like something you would see on
YouTube. The banner would
seem more logical and probably
more conventional as you don’t
really see many a4 adverts for
music magazines. They are in fact
tour posters or album related.
This banner would include the
masthead and also the
merchandise. This is because
they are two things that the
audience want to see, for
example on the Warburton's add
they have not included all the
ingredients on the advert , this is
because I wouldn't’t interest
people and catch their eye.

7. These are some example of fonts that I like. These may not be used within my
magazine however may be used elsewhere. The fonts are mostly urban styled or
bold. All these fonts stick out and will appeal to my target audience.

Some of the key words within my magazine will be those such as:

All these words will most likely be included somewhere within one of my products. A lot of these
words could be used in a advert for my magazine and the merchandise I am thinking of creating.
Some of these words such as: free , new and exclusive all create a sense of urgency and also a sense
of this product being unique and only for them. These words will hopefully apply to the audience
and make them buy a product. Some of these words are also a convention of specific areas such as
magazines or advertising. This is because they appeal to the audience and work.

9. Mood Board Analysis
How does your mood board inspire your project?
My mood board influences my project massively. This is because my mood board has given me several ideas of what to create. This has been
done because it has given me possible colours I could use for my ideas. This has also given me ideas for what clothing I could include. My idea
is to create a magazine with possibly 3 different issues. The way clothes link in is because the main image will be of a so called artist. One
convention of hip hop and rap are expensive and weird clothes this is why I have included several clothing items. I have also included several
photos of artists within my mood board this has inspired me to make a magazine cover with someone who wears and looks the same way as
them. This is because I enjoy listening to music and enjoy looking at expensive clothes. From them images I have looked at the way they look,
stand and also the angles of the shots. I also included several images of adverts and what type of adverts I am interested in creating. This has
inspired me to want to make a banner advertisement for my magazine. This is because I think that it will be a good way to get my products
noticed by the audience. This also seems the most logical way to advertise my product this is after I have looked at a4 adverts and also video
adverts. The colours on the adverts and the designs have really inspired me to create an advertising banner as I think that they look really
appealing. The final way my mood board has inspired me is through showing me various shots and also varies colours. This has inspired all my
ideas really as I know think that I could include for example a purple t-shirt.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• My mood board will most likely influence my final project. This is because my mood board has given me several ideas of what to create
and has also adapted some of my ideas. The ideas I had at the beginning such as multiple magazine covers , double page spreads and
also merchandise have all been thought about a lot more after completing my mood board. This will influence my final project as I have
looked at possible colours I might use and why I may use them , I have also looked at several camera angles and when and why I would
use them. This will influence my mood board quite a bit. The final way my mood board will influence my product is that it will allowed
me to look at conventional ideas. By this I mean I looked at several hip hop artists and could see what conventional features where
often used. These were things such as baggy clothes and also bright clothing. This helps my other idea which is to create merchandise.
This is because It has given me examples of conventions such as the baggy and vibrant look. This will allow me too create my
merchandise to look like an actual brand however will be the magazines brand.

10. Key Influences
The billboard music magazine will influence my
product and also my idea. This is because I am
aiming to create a cover like this. This is because I
am really interested in magazines and the music
genre they are conveying to. These magazine cover
influence me as I really like the background and the
main images included. This influences me to make
one similar to this. The magazine editor Hannah
Karp influences me as I am really interested in that
sort of area. By this I mean having a job in the
future doing print based media. The colors she uses
on the magazine cover really appeal to me and also
the audience. This is because they stick out from a
distance and also links into the artists clothing. The
gradients used are clever in my opinion as they
make the magazine look more interesting. This
product will influence when coming to my final
product because I will want to include a similar
layout. This is in the sense of a masthead, cover
lines and also headings.

Travis Scott influences me to make my music magazine. This is because I enjoy listening
to Travis Scott and wanted to make a product which will surround a rapper. The outfits
that Travis Scott would often wear also influences me. This makes me want to create my
own merchandise. His merchandise (astroworld) looks quite cool and unique. This is
because of the colors and also the unique text on the t-shirt. This will influence my final
product as I want to create some merchandise which will not be the same as every other
and will be unique. Another way Travis Scott will influence my final product Is because I
want to base my magazine around his sort of audience. This audience being teenagers
who are into music and also convey to the urban demographic. The final way Travis Scott
will have an influence on my product is because I feel that he is one of the more well
known hip hop artists and this is because of his music as well as his own clothing. The
rapper Travis Scott has done several shoes with Nike and all of which have sold out. This
will influence me as I wan to build that same amount of hype that is around Travis Scott.
This could be done many ways. One being by in my magazines include articles or
interviews surround him.

12. Key Influences
Thrasher magazine is probably one of the influences that have influenced me the most so far.. This
being because I want to make my product similar to theirs. Obviously I am not making a skating
magazine but I want to base it in the same way that they have their magazine and they they have
a brand behind the magazine which is very popular within the teenager demographic. The
merchandise it self have made this magazine popular again. This magazine which was created in
1981 has recently became popular again this is because of the merchandise. This has influenced
me so far because this is what I want my project to be. This being a music magazine and also to
have my own merchandise for that magazine. One thing based on this product I might do
differently is include more advertisements , this is because I could not find any adverts for any
thrasher products. Another way this has influenced me is because it is using the same audience.
This audience being specifically being the male demographic and the 14-19 age range. This is
similar to what I am trying to apply to. This will influence my final product as I will try and include
similar technical elements , these are things such as branding , colors and also conventional ideas
of a magazine like the masthead. The clothing brand is normally associated with street wear. This
is what I want mine to be , this is because I feel that some merchandise is really boring and will
just be a plain t-shirt with one word on it. This will influence me to make a similar product to this.
This being in the sense that I will include a cool logo or text upon the t-shirt. This will then not
look as boring.
