1. Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in this progression from it to
the full product?

3. Preliminary
• As this was my first try at creating a magazine I felt that I had many areas
where I could of improved upon, these were areas such as the layout. I felt
in my preliminary I was quite basic with my layout, this was something I
altered later in my final production. I also changed the composition of my
artist as I felt that that type of shot wasn’t reflecting my artist the way I
wanted to. I also felt the font I used was very basic, this was something I
later changed to use fonts found on font-space opposed to those on word.
The colours I used are very dull and minimal in my preliminary so I wanted
to try and add more colour to my final design. In the preliminary task I
added thick text boxes, this was something I did not carry on into my final
design as I felt it made the magazine look very cheap and like not much
effort has gone in to it.

5. Final piece
• In my final design I added a lot more colour than the preliminary this
was because I discovered that my target audience o 16-18 are
attracted to colour and are more likely to read something if it had
more colour in.
• The layout is a lot more different as I went for a medium shot rather
then a profile shot, this allowed me to fit text around my artist and
not be cutting off her hair. I also shrunk some things like barcode to
make it look more room for other things.
• The font I used is a lot different to the one in my preliminary as I
decided to make it look like a magazine.
