Working Title:
The Marmalade Man – A creepy pasta reading.
Product’s Purpose:
My product is purely for entertainment purpose only. It will be an audio file that you can find on
YouTube. It will entertain audiences by telling a story.
Genre:
The product is a audio YouTube video or podcast. It is a short creepy story. It is horror, or more
specifically a ‘CreepyPasta’ that caters to a very specific online audience.
Content
My product is a CreepyPasta story.
It’s a read-aloud email thread between two old friend. Friend A is writing to inquire about there
child hood days, and friend B is recalling old child hood memories. In the beginning, everything is
friendly and amicable. Friend A keeps his email short and to the point, in contrast to friend A’s
whose are short to the point. Friend A then becomes more direct, asking B if e remembers a
monster form their child hood – the Marmalade man. B remembers instantly, saying how he forgot
until now. He recounts how the Marmalade man would scare him and all the sinister stuff he would
make them do as children. He says how the friend A was the Marmalade mans favourite. Friend A
asks friend B to recount an old chant that would summon the monster, saying how it all felt very
real to him and even scared his family. Friend B says how the Marmalade wasn’t real, and
recounts the chant. Nothing is heard from friend A, and friend B is emailing updates regarding how
he feels the Marmalade man is now watching him. Friend A emails one last time to say that the
Marmalade had started haunting him again, and the only way to get rid of him was to make friend
B think about that chant. Friend B sends more frantic emails, now spiralling. The last email is from
A, apologizing.
- Before every email a date will be read in an electronic voice.
- Creepy ambient music will be playing in the back.
- When the characters talk a faint typing noise will play in the background.
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Age – The audience will be teenagers, fifteen to twenty-five. This is because this is the age range
that are young enough to still find thrill in being scared and won’t be too young to horrify them or
too old to find creepy stuff immature.
Gender – There is no particular target audience. Horror is more often tapered towards men but
the CreepyPasta community is full of Female content creators and listeners.
Social status – Working class, Middle class. This audience will enjoy my product because it is
gripping and real, someone from a higher social status may disagree and not relate to story.
Psychographics: Socially conscious A and B, balanced and needs driven. Socially conscious A
and balanced people will have empathy for the characters and be engrossed in the story. Socially
conscious B and Needs driven will find thrill in the story and enjoy hearing about such a dark tale.

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
There will be no offensive material included in my work.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Because it is assessable on the internet, prohibiting an age from watching it will be impossible.
And because the content isn’t graphic, putting an 18 or over restriction on it would seem too
dramatic. However, it will be recommended that people under 15 do not watch.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
Absolutely not – none of the above are even mentioned in the product.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
I will analyse my product and make sure nothing is said or referred to that could offend anyone.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
The name of a website will be used in the title – Creepy Pasta – but that is simply to give it a
genre.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
There are a lot of horror stories out there, but I watched many with a similar theme but I have
watched many enough to decipher that mine is very different from the other similar ones I have
listened too.
