AUDIENCE
A M Y W AT S O N
AUDIENCE PROFILE #1: MY
LITTLE PONY THE MOVIE
Primary Audience
Primarily, this product is targeted
towards little girls, because most of
the characters are girls and there’s
more girly colours. The age would be
0-14 years
Secondary Audience
Little boys in the same age group may
like this film because of some
awesome boy characters such as the
pirates, the storm king, grubber and
capper. The pirates would be more
attracting because they are a favourite
for boys.
AUDIENCE PROFILE #2:
THE IRON GIANT
Primary Audience
This film looks like it is primarily
targeted towards little and teenage boys
age between 6-16 years because it
looks sci fi and the theme is slowly
allying towards boys.
Secondary Audience
If some girls are tomboys and are into
geekness, or the love of sci fi, they may
be drawn towards this film because
robots are scientific. The appropriate
age group would be for teenagers.
AUDIENCE PROFILE #3:
COCO
Primary Audience
This films look likely to be targeted
towards family (Children, Teenagers,
Adults etc) A multiple range of age
groups because this film is about
family. It’s theme is consisting of
family love, and the warmth
throughout relationships.
Secondary Audience
It may not be understandable for
young kids because they don’t
understand the aspects of death and
moving on, but grown ups does.
HYPODERMIC NEEDLE
• Definition: When the viewing audience is convinced that the
events of the programme is real and most likely to happen. Think
of it as an injection being inoculated into your skin, and the power
of believing is surging through your brain, you’re numb to think
otherwise.
• Example; Red Bull
Red Bull’s slogan is ‘Red bull
gives you wings’, which sets
out to try and encourage
people to buy and drink the
product. The slogan was
created to convince the public
to try it, but really it’s a joke,
and people who have sense,
they would not believe it, they
know it is a joke to convince.
Finding information/news
To find the latest bit of gossip and news, you could use the internet and
search engines such as Google and Bing. They provide you with heap
loads of information.
Seeking advice and help with decision making
You can seek advice through social media, and ask your friends to help
solve your problems. If you are trying to make the right choice, also ask
your friends through the media.
Satisfy curiosity
If your curiosity is calling out to you, then it’s best to search the internet
on Google etc. to find whatever it craves to seek and discover.
To learn.
If you want to learn facts about history etc, then try exploring on BBC
Bitesize and Wikipedia because they provide you with the most exquisite
information possible.

Reinforcing personal values
In order to live a good life, you must reinforce
your personal values, it may be so that some

Developing behavioural traits
Sometimes when you are watching a film or a TV
show, you might act in a very peculiar manner.
For example, if you were watching a horror film
such as Poltergeist or playing a horror game, you
might feel a jolt of nerve and frightening power
through your body. This is when you behave
differently.
Identify with valued other in the media
(Aspiration figure- real or fictional)
When you look online or chat on social media,
you might become inspired by a certain celebrity
or someone. For example, my idol is Jacqueline
Wilson, who writes inspirational books, and they
are very occupying. Nick Sharratt who illustrates
her books is my favourite illustrator because his
drawings are colourful and simple.

INTERACTION
Identifying with others

interesting topic to talk about in your social groups. They have such
fascinating stories.

companionship and allow others to join in as substitutes.
USES AND GRATIFICATIONS:

complicated situations and be drawn into entertainment by escaping bad
matters of the real world. In this way, people would be more relaxed and
