Working Title:
The Legend of Berinhard the Botanist.
Audience:
My intended audience is teenagers aged 15-25, both male and female. The games social status is
mostly directed at C1, C2 and D. The Sexuality Doesn’t matter all. The psychographic will most
likely be belonger and Socially conscious type A. To make my game appeal to the audience I shall
target each individual ground and import something into the game that’ll make them play. For
example to make it appeal to females I shall include some kind of appearance change/clothing
change as that is stereotypically something women are into but not always.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Before starting Creative media level 3 I studied Creative media level 2 which I believe that a lot of
my skills and knowledge came with me from level 2, however I’ve still learnt a lot more skills this
year from doing the IRN-BRU project and the skills building exercises. For example, I only recently
discovered how to use the pen tool properly which I struggled with at first but now I’m a lot better.
My IRN-BRU advergame was very basic with little to non-animation skills. This time around I will
defiantly include more animation skills such as walking animations, which will make the overall
quality of the game better and more advanced.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
A parallel world similar to ours but with anthropomorphic creatures instead of humans except
one… Berinhard the Botanist. Set in pre-world war 2 Germany where the Honey Fuhrer captures
and enslaves the Bees, It is up to our hero Berinhard to save the Bees and stop the evil Honey
Fuhrer. The game begins with Berinhard under heavy fire from the enemy when he follows a bee
to an unscathed patch of flowers where he is then transported to a parallel world where talking
animals rule. Before being made to fight in the great war Berinhard was a renowned botanist and
all round nice guy. Berinhard sets up a flower business in this new world and befriends the bees
and their Princess. When word of his bee friends are captured, he sets off to free his fuzzy friends.
The genre of the game is a side scroller RPG like final fantasy and The Legend of Zelda where
you fight creatures and save the Princess. I shall research clothing style for that time period and
other features like buildings, weapons and animals.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
When it comes to the evaluation of my final product I intend to let a test audience view the product
an let them give their opinion and evaluation of the game. Before showing it to the audience I shall
firstly evaluate my product first as I believe that you're your own hardest critic. Furthermore when I
do show it to the test audience I shall be showing it to the audience that I believe are intended to
play the game. In this case teenagers aged 15-25 with genders being both male and female with a
social status of C1, C2 and D. I hope the outcome of the project will allow me to further my skill
and knowledge of not just Photoshop but the gaming industry too, especially the concept artists
and story board artists. By increasing my understanding of Photoshop and other areas it will allow
me to have a better understanding and experience when it comes to furthering my career in the
media industry and giving me a some what leg up on the contest.
