2. Colour Scheme
The problem with my project is that is doesn’t depend on visual effects
and design aspects as much as other projects as Its mostly photography
based so there no need for a colour scheme however if I have enough
time remaining towards the end of the project, I intend to make a website
which will hopefully follow the theme of black and white. Luckily as I am
making a portfolio I will be making a front cover with will mostly consist of
shades of black and white yet again following the theme of Black and
White street photography. The colour I like the best in #0c0c0c as its not
pitch black and I think it will work well with a greyish white.
3. Font
Similar to the colour schemes, my project doesn’t
really need any fonts as it’s a photography
portfolio. However I shall be using one for the title
of my portfolio ‘City Ruins’. I don’t like any of the
fonts available on DaFont.com so I will probably
make my own font for the front cover. This
shouldn’t be too hard and I have some ideas
already as I’d like to include my name inside the
font somehow. Furthermore like I've already said I
intend to use the font that I end up creating as my
brand name which will hopefully be on a website
or Instagram account as well as for the title of my
portfolio.
I do like the long thick straight fonts so I will
hopefully incorporate that into my font later.
4. Locations
Knaresborough Whitby York
My first and prime
location is
Knaresborough.
Knaresborough is a
historic market town
and my local town.
It’s a prime location
for street
photography as its
very popular with
tourists and has a
weekly market
which brings in the
locals and further
residence alongside
tourists. Attractions
such as the Castle
and Mother
Shipton's cave are
also prime locations
I may use for this
project.
A theme throughout
my location is that
they’re prime location
for tourists. I did this
because tourists
provide a great
expression and always
seem to be doing
something weird and
wacky. Whitby is a
seaside town not far
from my home and It
will hopefully provided
the street shots with
beautiful scenery as
well as beautiful
houses and great
subject from my
photography such
couples and families
enjoying their day.
For my final location I
intend to use for my
project I chose York. All
these location are historic
places with a high
population of tourists and
local events to which I
may be able to
photograph. York is only a
30 minute train ride from
Knaresborough so it
would be an easy place to
go and do some
photography. There’s
always street performers
and stalls throughout the
city and I hope will be a
great topic for my
photograph. The shambles
in a harry potter like street
with great scenery and I’m
hoping to get some good
shots from there.
