A very large and important idea in the political texts of philosophers is freedom, and the ways in
which a society may be considered free in the first place. Two philosophers stand out in terms of their
ideas of political freedom: John Stuart Mill and John Rawls. Rawls and Mill both strive to convince

has a sequel on the way set for release in 2015. It is also a New York Times Bestseller and has
won eleven state awards. The main reason I picked this book off the shelf is because of the many
recommendations I had received from friends to read the series of four books. This being the first
in the series I wasn t sure what to expect, also I had never heard of this author before. However
after reading The Maze Runner it reached the top of my list of favorites of dystopian books, and
left me looking forward to next book in the series.

In the
morning, The gates to the glade open and Thomas and his friends are able to return to their homes.
Just as they enter the safety of their compound, the elevator box opens revealing a new addition to
the glade. This time it is a teenage girl named Teresa. The girl is unconscious and is clasping a
note in her hand that reads She is the last one to enter . The Gladers then take her to the Med
Jacks who is in charge of all medical problems within the glade. When the Teresa is recovered she
tells Thomas that he and his friends must venture outside of the glade in order to solve the mystery
of the maze and find their way back to their real homes.
The plot line continues with Thomas and his friends traveling into the maze in an attempt
to find a way out. While searching for the exit to a seemingly endless maze, Thomas is stung by a
griever, which is similar to a huge poisonous slug. Oddly, Thomas is able to recover some of his

memories after being stung by a griever from the maze. These memories reveal a secret as to how
to escape the maze. With Thomas memories leading the way, the Gladers fight their way

Analysis Of Into The Wild By John Krakauer
In the book, Into The Wild, a journalist who was known as John Krakauer tells the story of
Christopher Johnson McCandless, rather known as Alex.
Krakauer s use of stylistic devices throughout his book is quite phenomenal. Just a few examples of
the stylistic techniques that he uses to uncover his tone are: polysyndeton, anaphora, and antithesis.
Krakauer remains indifferent towards Chris for a good 6 chapters, states all the facts, and tells the
story as it is. He uses no emotion appealing words to hint to us how he feels about Chris. His
indifference is shown through his use of polysyndeton, which is the use of several conjunctions when
not necessary. One example of polysyndeton used in Into The Wild is, Because [McCandless] ... Show
His tone starts to become more admiring towards Chris when he states, if [McCandless] pitied himself
in [his] last difficult hours because he was so young, because he was alone, because his body had
betrayed him and his will let him down it s not apparent in the photograph (Krakauer 199). This shows
that despite all the struggles Chris went through in his lifetime he dies peaceful and happy, when he
out of all people, had all the reasons to hate life and have a miserable death. The repetitive usage of

in Into The Wild is The marijuana of course only made the tent seem even more cramped, more

This hypothesis is that of national location. The philosophy behind this political positioning suggests
that in an issue such as European integration there will be more variation seen in countries that have

There are two creatures or monsters that are known to lurk in the shadows; Vampires and werewolves.
Over centuries there has been a huge debate as to which one is superior. Vampires and werewolves
have always fought each other from the beginning as born enemies. Some say the werewolves are
superior because they are stronger and others say the vampires are superior because they are smarter.
It comes down to brawn versus brains. For me the answer is obvious; at the end of it all it is the

How does one show his or her pain? Jonathan s agony from the death of his father is
shown throughout The Writer in the Family by utilizing symbolism. To Jonathan, it s as if his
father did not die a complete death and that haunts him. This pain is shown in a unique way
throughout the story. Jonathan, as he tells this first person narrative, does not come right out and
put words to his feelings concerning his father. At the start of the story Jonathan plainly states
that his father died in 1955 and he explains the situation of how Jonathan s aunts on his dad s

Jonathan then tells his mother that the suit is too big, since the sense of his father in
the jacket scares him. As with the symbol of a missing headstone, this image of Jonathan feeling
a little part of his father in the suit because of the lingering scent of his father, again shows how
