Living On This Planet Has Its Ups And Down
Living on this planet has its ups and down. When I noticed the #ReasonsToLeaveEarth trending on
twitter today, I thought to myself I have to write about that .
So, here you go.
My Top 6 Reasons to Leave Earth:
#6 BILLS
I mean, really, I hate to spend money.
My dad taught me a lot of thing about money: here are the top two.
Number one is to hold on to as much of it as you can, especially when you are young, because life isn
t just about today. You need to have some wiggle room when life throws you a curve ball and you
need to have a way to take care of yourself when you are old.
Number two is that even though you should save, you have to spend money to make money (I hate
dislike this very much). If you want to start a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Think of how much more productive we could be. Think of how much we miss while we are asleep
for eight hours of our day (if we are lucky, that is).
To be able to call somewhere home where I didn t need to sleep in order to survive and function?
Now, that would be a dream (pun intended  ).
#3 FOOD
I enjoy cooking, especially when I get to make something really delicious. But the need to have a
balance sometimes gets in the way of my fun in the kitchen.
I would be very much ok with leaving for a place where calories didn t count and everything tasted
amazing!
#2 PAIN AND SUFFERING
No one likes to be sick or suffer.
It breaks my heart to see my daughter fall and hurt herself or spend the night throwing up (and even
worse if my hubby and I are throwing up too).
And of course on this planet there is emotional suffering too. People are constantly fighting. No one
seems to be able to get along for more than ten seconds. It doesn t matter if you are leaders of
countries with opposing values or a husband and wife who can t decide on the color to pain the
shutters tension is everywhere.
I want to leave earth for a place where my family and I wouldn t have to deal with all the pain and
suffering that life on this planet has been dealing us all these years.
AND
#1 INCOMPLETE
I am incomplete here. Jesus Christ started a work in me when I chose to follow Him and make Him
LORD of my life. That work won t be finished until I am face to face with Him in

Victory Lap
Change can be seen as a form of transformation or conversion. A form of change can be seen in
Victory Lap by George Saunders, a short story written in such a way that the events that are enrolling
throughout the story are being processed and told through the minds of three main characters. Having
the perspective of each character allows us, the readers to get a much greater understanding about
them and to make a better character analysis. Having said that, this story is simply about a girl, Alison
getting kidnapped by an unnamed kidnapper. What were really captivating were the changes spotted
on characters as the conflict progresses. One character in particular is very intriguing and his name is
Kyle. One of our main character, Alison ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This overly cautious boy somehow finds himself rushing into the battlefront, where Alison was being
dragged without any plan of action or resolve: What was he doing... (79). We notice here that Kyle
doesn t even realize what he is doing as he incautiously rushes to the damsel in distress. This is quite
un Kyle like for he had not properly conducted solution in overcoming the problem. Quite a change
from the beginning of the story where Kyle would recognize the situation properly and come forth
with proper procedures in order to confront it, like he did when he walked in the house with his shoes
on and when he walked in the house with his dirty socks. Kyle changes from mentally rehearsing an
event to bluntly rushing into action. Kyle was raised in a very strict environment where he would
follow instructions that have been drilled into him all of his life. If he came home he would sign his
name as if punching in and out of a workplace. He has to take of his shoes before entering the house
and he has to record details in Kyle s Traffic Log requested by his dad. This is demonstrated when
Kyle spots the van of the supposed meter reader and proceeds to fill a report on this event: On the
counter was Kyle s Trafiic Log.... Smiling agreeably as if he

Descriptives Of El Nino
El nino is a temporary change in climate in the pacific ocean,in the region around the equator. You can
see Typically, the ocean surface warms up by a few degrees celsius.
El Niño is a climate cycle in the Pacific Ocean with a global impact on weather patterns. The cycle
begins when warm water in the western tropical Pacific Ocean shifts eastward along the equator
toward the coast of South America
Normally, this warm water pools near Indonesia and the Philippines. During an El Niño, the Pacific s
warmest surface waters sit offshore of northwestern South America.
Forecasters declare an official El Niño when they see both ocean temperatures and rainfall from
storms veer to the east. Experts also look for prevailing trade winds to weaken and even reverse
direction during the El Niño climate phenomenon. These changes set up a feedback loop between the
atmosphere and the ocean that boosts El Niño conditions. The El Niño forecast for 2015 is expected to
be one of the strongest on record, according to Mike Halpert, the deputy director of the Climate
Prediction Center, part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
We don t want to see just the warming in the ocean. We want to see the atmosphere above the ocean
respond to the changes, said Michelle L Heureux, a climate scientist and lead for the El Niño
forecasting team at the Climate Prediction Center.
The location of tropical storms shifts eastward during an El Niño because atmospheric moisture is

Id, Ego, And Superego In The Lady With The Pet Dog
In Joyce Oates short story The Lady with the Pet Dog, the main character, Anna, represents the Id,
Ego, and Superego characteristics defined by Sigmund Freud. Anna is facing her morals (Superego)
and feelings (Id), being confined to a marriage and detesting her affair. Because Anna is forced to
balance a failing marriage, and loving her husband, while also loving a man who s not her husband,
and not loving him because she can t, builds stress inside her and leads to rash desires and actions.
Anna displays Freud s Id characteristics throughout, the things she wants most are life and love. Anna
is in the middle of a dysfunctional marriage and starts an affair with another man. Her Id psyche is
prevalent when her husband says that he loves her, but she thinks about her lover saying ...if betraying
him (her husband) it would give her life a center (Oates 239). Anna s unconscious immature Id psyche
thinks that the only way for her to have a purpose in life is to be with her lover, only looking for
pleasure and not thinking about the consequences (McLeod). The Id is overlooking the common logic,
she is married and her lover is married too, which is morally wrong, overriding the Superego. Anna s
Id can be compared to that of a child s, like a kid at the store who asks his mom for candy, and when
she says no he decides to steal the candy. In contrast, Anna says ....of course she was married,
permanently married (Oates 246). Anna still can t make up her mind about her

The Conceptual Foundations Of Psychology
All sciences originally descended from philosophy and over the centuries the special sciences
gradually became independent of this discipline, with Psychology being one of the last of the special
sciences to separate from the parent during the 19th century (Banyard, Davies, Normal Winder, 2010).
The questions and ideas in Psychology have been of interest since the time of the ancient Greeks,
where philosophers inquired into how human beings know the world. Plato asked questions about
human motivation ( Why do we act as we do? ) and Aristotle attempted to structure the human soul
according to the five senses, imagination, common sense and memory (Leahey, 2004), which loosely
reflect the study of perception and cognition in present day psychology. Although the conceptual
foundations of psychology are to be found in philosophy, the inspiration for the creation of an
independent science of psychology came from biology. The founders of psychology took a path to the
mind through physiology, while a bigger influence came from a younger branch of biology evolution
which through a shift in focus from the contents of the mind to the function of the mind, eventually
gave rise to the different fields existing in psychology today such as psychobiology, cognitive
psychology, developmental psychology and more recently evolutionary psychology.
Although psychologists have traditionally revered William Wundt as the founder of psychology, the
historical reality is more complex.

Organic Growth Strategy Of FCL

packages to cost conscious travellers with low cost margins and low technological inputs (Baum,

Re: Recommendations and Implementations for recent issues in Airborne Express
Executive Summary:
Airborne Express has many options available for sustainable growth and success in the coming years.
After the recent 29% increase in revenue over the past year, there are opportunities to take into
consideration that will boost this growth for the fourth quarter. This company should join the industry
trend of distance based pricing. This will result in higher revenues, and will give Airborne Express a
more substantial budget to merge with Roadway Package System in order to create a more

E mailing could possibly have a small effect on this industry, but this is not an option for most
deliverable items, as well as legal documents. Depending on the urgency of a package being delivered,
regular mailing systems propose a small threat on this industry. It obviously costs less, but it doesn t
compare at all to the convenience of express delivery services. Buyer Power: The major consumers in
this industry are basically anyone who intends on sending a package or letter to someone urgently or
with the most convenience. It seems as if businesses use this industry the most, considering the
importance of delivering and receiving products and other necessities to keep a company stable and on
top of their game. Because there is barely any differentiation in this industry, it allows customers to
easily shop around for the best prices. This raises price sensitivity and gives the consumer more
customer power. Barriers to Entry: The threat of new entries in this industry is equally low as the
threat of substitutes. There are few major players involved here, and it shows that for a new one to
even exist they would need to have the capability of covering a large amount of cities in the United
States. In order to have a main convenient center of business, as well as aircraft and an extensive
amount of vehicles calls for a high capital investment. This would be extremely difficult for any new
entries to be accountable for and would take years of hard work and sustainability

Essay On Jewish Names
Names are defined as a word or phrase that constitutes the distinctive designation of a person or
thing.Names are important in all aspects of life, and one of the major usages of names are for
identifaction purposes. Accrording to the book A person s name is thought to define and control his or
her soul and destiny (Ber. 7b). Therefore, the selection of an appropriate name is a critical decision. In
this paper we will be looking at the cultural aspect in relation to Jewish names.
In the Jewsish culture,it was with careful examination they gave names, since they believed it would
constitute to where or not the person is good or bad. They actually beliveied that the names which
which was chooosen had the power to determine later personality. Names were changed based ones
peronal status. For example if someone was adopted or they were married then on this basis the name
would change.
Until emancipation of the jews, they had no surnames. They used what is called patronymics, such as
David ben (son of) Joseph or Miriam bat (daughter of) Aaron. Names in that form are still used in
synagogue and in Jewish legal documents such as the ketubah. A person complete name would include
their first and middle name, then the patronymics son of daughter of Its said that if the father was a ...

When Senior Year Came Up
Then senior year came up. Since I loved California and since I didn t want my parents to pay for the
extra out of state tuition, I decided to apply to in state (California) schools, such as Universities of
California, California State Universities, and Private Universities. As I was applying to colleges, I
decided to apply as a Statistics major. Even though I have never taken statistics classes before, I knew
Statistics would be the best option for me due to many reasons. First of all, I was really good at and
loved math, and I thought a degree in Statistics would get me better jobs than a degree in
Mathematics. Secondly, I enjoyed playing around with baseball data, baseball stats and thus, I thought
I could be able to play around with more baseball data if I study statistics. Finally, during my senior
year, I never knew what field (sciences, business, social studies, etc.) I really wanted to get into and I
felt that statistics can be applied to basically any field and thus would not hurt me in the future when I
find something I really wanted to do. After five months of crossing my fingers and being nervous
about my college acceptance, I got all my acceptance letters and rejection letters. Other than San
Diego State University, I was given three other universities to choose from. As a result, my spring
break of senior year was dedicated to visiting Universities and deciding which college I should go to.
After a week or two of thinking, I decided to do pursue my

Use of Language and Imagery in act One Scene Two of...
Use of Language and Imagery in act One Scene Two of Shakespeare s Henry V The French
ambassadors are shown into Henry s court. They were sent from the Dauphin, son of the French King.
The Dauphin s message is an insulting rejection of Henry s claim to the French dukedoms and refers
to his reputation as a trivial pleasure seeker. The message is accompanied by a mocking gift of tennis
balls, suggesting that he should go and play games. Dramatically this is a tense moment. The Dauphin
has under estimated Henry. The childhood imagery of Henry has departed and now arose a new King.
Henry is a reformed character. He admits that he did not value his position and responsibility when he

King Henry then comes back to the theme of the tennis in his reply to the Dauphin and warns that a
more deadly game will follow. There is much confident in Henry s speech. He is contrasting the image
of the tennis game to the game of war as he says we will in France, by God s Grace, play a set. There
is a tone change, when he states God, but there is also reference to Henry s religious side. God permits
Henry s anger. When Henry says play a set , he declares that they will play a game of war. There is a
pun when Henry says courts. That all the courts of France will be disturbed. The word court is used in
two different terms in Henry s speech. Firstly the term court could mean tennis courts and secondly it
could mean the courts of France, where the battle will commence. Henry replies to the Dauphin that
the tennis balls will be turned into gun stones, Hath turned his balls to gun stones, at the battle and this
is an extended metaphor. Henry again refers to God, his soul. God is mentioned a few times by Henry
and this establishes an image that God is on Henry s side. The word mock is used four times in Henry
s lecture meaning he shows anger at the Dauphin s mockery of the tennis balls. Just as tennis is a
mock game and the game they are going to play in France will make mockery of Dauphin judgement

Organizational and Change Management Models
Models of Organizational Change Introduction The world is experiencing unprecedented changes in
the structure and operation of organizations. This has increased the challenges that confront
organizations. New competition from unexpected places is a huge challenge. So are the cultural issues
that come with a diverse, opinionated, and often far flung workforce. The need for fast acting,
effective, sustained organizational change will continue to increase. In fact, it will increase even more
rapidly than it is now. The flattening of the world through globalization has sent market forces in new
directions. Organizations must react to this increasingly chaotic market swiftly and effectively. The
McKinsey 7 S Model and Lewin s three step model are two of the most influential models of
organizational change in the business world. The McKinsey 7 S model emphasizes the role of
structural factors in organizational change, while Lewin s three step model is rooted in behavioral
factors. Thesis: The McKinsey 7 S model is grounded in questionable research methods and an
excessive focus on structural factors. Lewin s three step model is more incisive and relevant because it
is rooted in principles of human behavior. Background McKinsey s 7 S Model In the book, In Search
of Excellence, Peters and Water identified eight common features of excellent organizations, which
they defined as organizations which have achieved sustained profitability and innovation. These
features were: A

Plot In The Killings By Andre Dubus
The Killings by Andre Dubus
Plot is defined as, the authors arrangement of incidents in a story it is the organizing principle that
controls the controls the order of events (Meyer,64). The element of plot is heavily relied on in the
short story, The Killings by Andre Dubus. The plot which is completely made inside the imagination
of an author (Meyer,64), gives the audience important insight to people, places, and events in the story
(Meyer,64) . The Killings provides a somewhat conventional plot pattern, where the character is
confronted with a problem and is then led into a climax, which late leads to the resolution of the story
(Meyer,65). The conventional plot is easy to follow and serves as a basis for movies and other ... Show

The story explains, One night he beat Frank. Frank was living at home and waiting for September, for
graduate school in economics, and working as a lifeguard at Salisbury Beach, where he met Mary Ann
Strout, in her first month of separation. (Dubus,86). This small piece of information allows the
audience to understand the possible relationship between Frank and his killer. The name of the killer,
stated earlier in the story as, Richard Strout assumably has a relationship with Mary Ann Strout, the
girl Frank meets on the beach. The passage also clarifies that Strout had previously beaten Frank
before finally killing him. When the paragraph ends stating where he met Mary Ann Strout in her first
month of separation (Dubus,86), we are sure that Strout and Mary Ann were indeed married at one
point and that Frank was somehow intruding on their marriage. A conversation between the Fowlers
also confirms the relationship between Frank and Mary Ann. By understanding the relationships,
subtlety stated in the paragraph, the reader forms a solid explanation for why Strout killed Frank
Fowler. By flashing back into past knowledge and information the reader is able to fully understand
the story. The plot is enhanced by the rising action of the story. During this time, Richard Strout has
been kidnapped by Matt Fowler.

Gun Control Argumentative Essay
Gun control has been a topic of conversation for a long time. With that comes the issue of gun
violence that has taken over America, from concerts and movie theaters to schools and churches, mass
shooting have taken many lives. Data has shown that 19 children are hospitalized every day from a
gun related injury and 1,300 children are killed each year from gun injuries. And there are many
people who are opposite sides of the firearm issue. Some people believe that it is their constitutional
right to be able to own as many guns as they want while the opposite side of the spectrum believes
that the second amendment should be erased from the constitution and make guns illegal. However,
many people on both sides agree that kids need to be taught gun safety. ... Show more content on

Many article about guns or gun related issues tend to start the article by describing something that has
happened because of a gun to evoke a sense of sorrow. The .45 caliber pistol that killed Lucas
Heagren, 3, on Memorial Day last year at his Ohio home had been temporarily hidden under the couch
by his father. But Lucas found it and shot himself through the right eye. (Lou, McIntire) This comes
from an article in The New York Times titled Children and Guns: The Hidden Toll. This example is
followed by many more gut wrenching child gun deaths. Yet, the case of Lucas Heagren is a bit more
in depth, an image of him and his father on Christmas with Lucas holding his present, a .22 rifle. This
image was evidence for Mr. Heagran s negligent homicide trial after Lucas shot himself. The
anecdotes bring empathy so that the reader may side with the view of the article. The New York Times
also give a clear understanding of who the audience is by stating that gun deaths happen everywhere,
in the households of police officers and drug dealers, in broken homes and close knit families, on rural

The movie Social Network is about the ideas and the development behind the creation of the very
popular social networking site Facebook . Mark Zuckerberg is the main character in the movie and
also the actual creator of Facebook. There are multiple instances, where various components of
interpersonal communication are used throughout this movie. For instance, in the very beginning of
the movie Zuckerberg is speaking to his girlfriend Erika, about school, which appears to be a

She suggests that female male communication is cross cultural communication, with all of the
challenges of communicating with people who are different from us (p. 88). Hence, the same
information can affect each gender in a different way. Men often communicate to report; women often
communicate to establish rapport. So the point of difference isn t in the way the sexes actually
communicate but in their motivations or reasons for communicating (p. 88). The guys that received
the two pictures of the girls were excited and all voted on who they considered hotter. The girls on the
other hand couldn t believe that it was being sent around and were offended. Females tend to take
things more literally and are likely to be more emotional than men, which should be taken in to
consideration, when any interpersonal communication is taking place. During Zuckerberg s creation of
Facebook he came up with the idea of relationship status , stating that this is what drives life in

Alone on the Hilltop
In Lame Deers story Alone on the Hilltop he recalls the moment in life when his first hanblechia
occurred at the age of 16. The first scene begins on the hilltop where Lame Deer had been brought by
Chest, the medicine man. Lame Deer has been left all alone on the hilltop for 4 days nights with no
water or food. The only thing that he had with him where his star blanket which his grandmother had

Opinion
This in my opinion was a very interesting account of American Indian rituals. Lame Deer did a great
job on comparing and contrasting the white folks way of life with his own. He told us how Indian
children are typically never left alone which gives us a better understanding on why he was so afraid
of being alone on the hilltop. I feel like in this story I really got a better understanding of the Indian
way of life. They seem to be very tight knit group who value tradition above everything. Family seems
to be the most important theme as demonstrated by his grandmothers willingness to cut forty pieces of
her own flesh in order to make the rattle. This whole aspect about them is admirable but at the same
time I feel like they don t really take any actual logic into account. The whole vision determines your

never really experienced any of these things as im not a Sioux. I do think though that this story can be
related into our modern world in the sense that many kids are pushed into choosing a life career at a
relatively young age. Lame Deer was only 16 at the time but that is only a mere two years younger
than kids today. To some extent I found admirable that he at such a young age had already known
what his life s calling was. Overall the story

Joan Didion On Religious Diversity
This semester has felt how Joan Didion describes her time in New York City in Goodbye to All That,
how six months can become eight years with the deceptive ease of a film dissolve (Didion). The
semester has flown by. It is something I have come to call the time warp of college, when days
become weeks and last week felt like four weeks ago, but four weeks ago felt like yesterday. In my
opinion, it is a beautiful phenomenon. On the surface I am still the same person I was in August, but
internally I am different. Not a bad different, but an improved different. It is like when Apple released
the iPhone 7 and you did not know how it is different from the iPhone 6. The differences are small

differences in my use of sources and source integration. A section from my first draft that discusses

There is an obvious difference between religions being accepted and being tolerated. Tolerance is a
virtue that involves self restraint of one s self to maintain peace en contrast to fully recognizing and
respecting different ideas, people, and beliefs (Tiedemann, 85). Tolerance is a baseline attitude
towards things one opposes; it is effortless and solely requires one to not explicitly impinge on another
s way of life. (Wilhelm 2) Initially I thought the section was fine, but it was just the iPhone 6. It does
the job it is supposed to do; it explains what tolerance is and touches on how it is different from
acceptance. It could have been worse, it could have been the iPhone 5 or 4. But, you always want the
newest and best version of the iPhone, right? So, I had to improve it and add the things that would
make it the iPhone 7 or at least the 6s. The final version goes as

Helicopters Persuasive Essay
With countless people dying, climbing, each year, should these people be saved, even if it means
others might die? By helicopter, is the main method these climbers are saved. These rescues are
escalating in number each year. Although this method is very expensive, it also very efficient. Less
attentive to the dangers, some of the climbers do drastic things because they know that rescue services
are just one phone call away. Then, there are climbers who make an endeavor to push that thought to
the back of their mind. But some people debate whether it still does have an impact on their decisions.
Even if they put others in danger, all of these climbers have the right to be saved because the rangers
are capable of saving them and the services are skilled enough. The starting reason that people have
the rights to be recovered is because the services are capable of saving them. In the source, Helicopter
Rescues Increasing on Everest it proposes the idea that there are many techniques that people can use
to rescue the climbers. As mentioned by Nick Heil, ...they re able to literally, pluck a climber off a
ridge... For instance, this shows just one of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Explained in the source titled Helicopter Rescues Increasing on Everest rescuers are skilled and they
need to be. As noted upon in the interview, ...the skills that are required to operate these machines are
quite significant... Because pilots and rescuers are very skilled and they know what they are doing,
they should save the climbers. This also shows that they are able to and will save the climbers.
Competitors might challenge this idea by saying that all people make mistakes sometimes, but this is
incorrect because the pilots are highly advanced and rarely ever make mistakes. In conclusion, people
have the right to rescue services because the rescuers are skilled

Essay On Cancun
Cancun: Heaven in the Earth Every person in this world has a place where they can escape of stress
and problems of the real world. Every time that I feel this emotion I want to escape to the most
beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing place that I never seen before. Where I can sit and don t think
anything in my mind in that moment and able of sending my senses into an over freight. Cancun has
the most beautiful and unique beaches with soft sand, the tallest amazing temples, and the most
spectacular relaxing sounds in the cenotes. Many times I heard Cancun had the best beaches and the
sand was unique. The first thing I did when I get to the hotel was to verify if it was true , so I went
running to the beach and in the first moment I set my foots in the sand I realized it was true . The sand
is soft and smooth it s not like the sand here in Texas. When I walk in the white sand, I could feel the
soft, fresh, and at the same time the relaxing experience. I felt like I was walking on clouds. But also, I
feel this sand like quicksand sink my feet when I walk in them. Sit in the sand and feel it in my hands
start playing like a little girl and stat rubbing the grains of sand through my body as if it were an
exfoliator was so relaxing, because I can scape to the real problems. Every night before bed the first

most melodious voices sing. I could hear too many sounds of nature in the cenote as the sound of the
birds singing or even the sound of the breeze dropped in the cenote but these sounds relaxed me more

Human Rights Abuse on the U.S.-Mexican Border Essay
Human Rights Abuse on the U.S. Mexican Border
Between 1993 97 there was a 72% increase in funds provided to the Immigration and Naturalization
Services. The INS has a mobile uniformed division responsible for policing the US Mexican border
called Border Patrol. With such a dramatic increase in just four years it is obvious that the border area
is a pressing concern to the US government. The Border Patrol conducts inspections of travelers,
regulates permanent and temporary immigration into the United States and maintains control of the
US borders, which amount to 8,000 miles. They also identify and remove persons who have no lawful
immigration status in the United States. The border patrol works hand in hand with the INS to ensure

the excessive passing over the border comes more illegal immigration. Tremendous pressure is put on
the Border Patrol to prevent the illegal immigrants from successfully coming to the United States.
The Human Development Report states the definition of human rights, as the rights possessed by all
persons, by virtue of their common humanity, to live a life of freedom and dignity. They give all
people moral claims in the behavior of individuals and the design of social arrangements and are
universal, inalienable and indivisible. Human rights express our deepest commitments to ensuring that
all persons are secure in their enjoyment of the goods and freedoms that are necessary for dignified
living. Human rights belong to all people, and all people have equal status with respect to these rights
(UNDP 2000). With human rights is the right to freedom.
Freedom from discrimination in any form under any circumstance
Freedom from fear, such as threats to personal security, torture, arbitrary arrest, and other violent acts
Freedom from injustice and violations of the law and the freedom of thought and speech and to
participate in decision making and form associations
These are individual freedoms that are granted to every human being. They are not arguable and are
not outranked in power.

Aristotle Piety
Aristotle argues there is a hierarchy to being; meaning some things are more fundamental than others.
He believes there must be something on which everything else depends, and this can be understood by
examining definition. A perfect definition should list just those things without which the subject could
not exist without. This passage applies to Aristotle s argument because it deals with clarifying the
definition of piety . Socrates says ..you didn t teach me adequately earlier when I asked what the pious
was, but you told me that what you re now doing is pious.. , which aligns with what Aristotle was
saying about people (in this case, Euthyphro) suggesting an equivalent notion rather than
understanding the basic principle of their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this conversation, they are separating and attempting to define and order the body and the soul
based on importance. Socrates and Cebes agree that the body is mortal and sinful, and the soul is
immortal and divine; separating upon the death of the body. Socrates says Look at it also this way:
when the soul and the body are together, nature orders the one to be subject and to be ruled, and the
other to rule and be master. Aristotle may argue that the combination of body and soul is what makes
an entire human, a distinct third being, with no one mastering the other. Socrates and Cebes are
separating two parts of the human and failing to acknowledging the one whole as an individual and
complete entity.
To Aristotle, this theory is a declaration of the importance of universals over particulars. For example,
Aristotle argues that the universal notion of beauty and justice originate from observable examples of
beauty and justice in this world. This contrasts with Plato s argument that beauty and justice exist only
because they participate in the universal Form of Beauty or Justice. Aristotle s assertion is that we can
only conceptualize beauty by observing instances of beauty, and the universal quality of beauty does
not exist beyond this

My Experience Of Swimming
Swimming demands nothing short of perfection.
I was ten when I first entered into a major Swimming competition, a stepping stone towards achieving
my dreams. Hours were poured into training and sacrifices made simply for a perfect race to the
podium. I had arrived 3 hours earlier, and to my dismay that the competition had been delayed. My
parents hid their apparent annoyance, in hope that the long wait would prove its worth, yet only to find
out it actually was not. The long wait took its toil on me and panic overcame me at the starting blocks.
In a field of 8 swimmers, the number 8 flashed brightly against my name, glistening tears welled up in
my eyes as failure washed over me.
I hated that part of Swimming. It washed away hours and years of work and sacrifices, dashed the big
dreams of a 10 year old, and failed high expectations laid bare for all to see. I hated Swimming for its

In that sense, perfectionism is like a drug, an insidious poison that infiltrates every part of me. A self
induced madness that one moment raises me to the pinnacle of elation, and the next drags me to the
darkest recesses of frustration and disappointment. Sometimes I think I would trade up almost
anything for one more hit of that pleasure, almost completely regardless of the consequence.
Everyone has a side of him or her that may ultimately lead to their downfall. Mine is, of no doubt, my
obsession with perfection. It is a question I face with on a daily basis: How far am I willing to go to
attain that perfection, to turn my ideals into reality?
At then, for most, the answer to the question is simple: As far as I want to. For me, the answer was
even simpler, though much complicated: All the way. Even if it means giving up the things that should
matter the most, I guess I was blinded looking through the lenses of

The Stark Law Essays
The Stark Law
Some federal statutes address fraud in government health care programs, and many of these laws vary
considerably (Krause 2004). Some of these laws specifically target health care fraud. Example of the
laws that the government direct at inappropriate health care activities includes the Medicare and
Medicaid Anti Kickback Statute and Ethics in Patient Referrals Act (EPRA).
In 1989, Congress enacted the Ethics in Patient Referrals Act. Commonly known as Stark law,
Congress named it in honor of Rep. Pete Stark, a Democrat from California, and original sponsor of
the bill (Sprague 2004). This law places limitations on self referrals by physicians and prohibits
physicians from referring patients to organizations in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Considering the provisions of the Stark law, it is clear that Congress enacted the law to curb the self
referrals that were prevalent among medical practitioners due to the sprawling specialty hospitals and
health facilities (Choudhry, Choudhry, and Brennan 2005). Furthermore, Congress saw the need to
prevent a physician s referral decision that is dependent on a selfish, financial gain. The idea was to
preclude overutilization of certain health care facilities that may arise from objectionable referrals and
the resultant increase in health care cost (Staman 2010).
Congress created the Stark law, which is compiled as Section 1877 of the Social Security Act, as part
of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1989, Public Law 101 239, 103 Stat. 2423 (1989); the
Stark law is codified at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn. In 1993, Congress passed the Omnibus Budget
Reconciliation Act that significantly amended the Stark law, and the amendment is commonly known
as Stark II (Staman 2010). In essence, Stark I and Stark II were not created as stand alone laws but as
provisions in the Omnibus Budget Reconciliations of 1989 and 1993. The Stark law defines a
financial relationship at 42 U.S.C. § 1395nn to include either (1) an ownership or investment interest
in the entity or (2) a compensation arrangement between

Brief Overview of Business Intelligence and How Walmart...
Brief Overview of Business Intelligence and How Walmart Uses It Walmart is the biggest retailer in
the world and handles more than one million customer transactions every hour and generates more
than 2.5 petabytes of data storage (Venkatraman amp; Brooks, 2012). To put this into perspective, this
data is equivalent to 167 times the number of books in America s Library of Congress (Venkatraman
amp; Brooks, 2012). So how can Wal Mart use this massive amount of data and what useful
information can this data provide? This paper will provide a brief overview of the importance of

Walmart uses the various BI tools in order to understand how online behavior influences in store
behaviors and vice versa (SAS Institute Inc.). From the HR perspective, Walmart seeks to understand
how to harness the knowledge of its associates and make it available and accessible for everyone in
the organization (SAS Institute Inc.). This plethora of raw data, along with the high potential to
improve both sales and HR management is a challenging task which creates a significant demand for
analytics talent.
To combat this demand, Walmart decided to apply crowdsourcing, with positive results (Marr, 2015).
In 2014, Walmart turned to crowdsourced analytics competition platform Kaggle for an army of
armchair data scientists who applied their skills to analytical problems submitted by companies (Marr,
2015). As a result of this competition, the designer of the best solution was rewarded sometimes
financially and in this case the winner was granted a job at Walmart in the technology division.
Wal Mart is always looking for the competitive edge and doesn t limit its BI software use. In fact, Wal
Mart even creates its own software to collect and analyze data. Walmart has been able to consolidate
ten different websites into one and store all incoming data in the new

Comparing The Australian Economy And The Chinese Economy
Economic development refers to the sustained actions of communities, federal, state, and local
governments that improve our standard of living through the creation of jobs, new technologies,
economic health, and the creation of an overall better quality of life. The comparison between the
Australian economy and the Chinese economy provide a detailed and comprehensive view of both
nations. China is of political, cultural and economic strategic importance to Australia. Economic
growth, employment/unemployment, environmental sustainability, the role of government (in health
care, education and welfare), and quality of life determine the economic development of a nation.
Australia and China s economic growth vary in terms of different increases in their gross domestic
product, or GDP, which is measured in US dollars. Economic growth refers to a change in a nation s
output of goods and services over a period of time which is reflected by gross domestic product.
During periods of economic boom, GDP is generally high. Similarly, during periods of recession, GDP
is generally low. Australia is a mixed market economy, where the government plays a major role in
providing collective goods and services while the private sector makes most of the economic
decisions. Income is determined by the market but the government controls some private sector
behaviour, minimum wage requirements, redistribution of income and other related economic
activities. China, on the other hand, is a centrally

Peace Like A River Quotes
You ve always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself. This quote is from the
Wizard Of Oz. It talks about courage to people who don t think they can do these things. This quote is
very important if someone doesn t think they can do something but needs to or wants to. I read the
book Peace Like A River by Leif Enger. This quote ties to the book because It is about a family who
has a son who kills two people who were stalking their home. The son then goes off to jail, and breaks
out. The rest of the family goes off on a long road trip to try to find their son, Davy. This part reminds
me of the Wizard of Oz because Dorthy goes on a long trip on the yellow brick road to find the
Wizard. In the end, things don t turn out as planned but some things get better. In this book, many
people display courage. But, Davy has the most courage. He had courage when he: killed the two
boys, escaped jail, and was on his own for his whole life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The challenge that many students face upon entering first grade in a low social economic status area is
low literacy skills. The students represented in this developmental paper come from low income
families whose parents were poorly educated, many illiterate. As a result, students would rarely read

Children at age two have a vocabulary that reaches up to 2,000 words, by the age of four, preschool
age children of parents who are literate have increased their vocabulary to a maximum of 10,000
words. This would be difficult to accomplish in a household where both parents are illiterate,
especially when it comes to more rich vocabulary words.
Lastly, it is important to include Norm Chomsky every time we talk about language acquisition.
Through his studies we can say that children can learn a new language because of their innate ability
in their brain to be able to classify different words, specifically grammatical terms. He suggested that
we have a device in our brain which he called a Language Acquisition Device that allows children to
notice the differences between two languages. In my opinion if all of us have this device. All the child
needs to stimulate it to be able to learn those important first words that a child is going to need as they
further exposed into a language.

The Qualities Of A Hero In The SpongebobMovie
A hero is someone few people can be. A hero is someone who is able to do a task no one else can do
and be able to help in situations of need. A hero is someone who puts others people s needs ahead of
his own to do what s good. Someone who has all the qualities of a hero is Spongebob. In his film The
Spongebob Movie Stephen Hillenburg uses the character archetype the hero to show that we as
humans need someone to lead us because when we face life s biggest challenges we need someone to
help us out.
Spongebob makes many bold moves in the beginning of the movie. This shows us how Spongebob is
a character who does anything he can to do what he believes is good. Spongebob says something in
the beginning of the film that showed me he was a hero. Yes I might only be a kid, but I will never
stop trying to save mr. Krabs. This showed me his perseverance as people might doubt him in the
beginning of his journey but he will never give up if he thinks he is doing something good.
Spongebob now faces many challenges during the middle of the film. He doesn t give up though
showing the audience how he will continue to attempt to save the whole city. Patrick says We can t get
to Shell City now. Our car has been stolen and there is no way we will get the crown and come back in
time. Spongebob then exclaims We can t stop now, if we go back Mr Krabs will die and the whole city
will continue to be run by Plankton. He is able to get the strength not to give up even when it doesn t
look like he will be able to save the city he still knows what he has to do even though he has gone
through so much challenges. He was attacked my motorcycle gangs, guys with mustaches, giant
worms, and a Cyclops but he didn t stop fighting.
Spongebob comes back to the city with the king s crown, but there still a problem as Plankton has
turned everyone into slaves. Spongebob then defeats Plankton and he says a powerful speech showing
the audience how he is a hero. I ve learned a lot in the last 6 days, and if there is one thing that I have
learned it is that you are who you are. I know I don t have any mermaid magic, or manager promotion,
or any other thing. None of those can make me more than who I really am inside, a kid. But I did

  • 2. Living On This Planet Has Its Ups And Down Living on this planet has its ups and down. When I noticed the #ReasonsToLeaveEarth trending on twitter today, I thought to myself I have to write about that . So, here you go. My Top 6 Reasons to Leave Earth: #6 BILLS I mean, really, I hate to spend money. My dad taught me a lot of thing about money: here are the top two. Number one is to hold on to as much of it as you can, especially when you are young, because life isn t just about today. You need to have some wiggle room when life throws you a curve ball and you need to have a way to take care of yourself when you are old. Number two is that even though you should save, you have to spend money to make money (I hate dislike this very much). If you want to start a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Think of how much more productive we could be. Think of how much we miss while we are asleep for eight hours of our day (if we are lucky, that is). To be able to call somewhere home where I didn t need to sleep in order to survive and function? Now, that would be a dream (pun intended  ). #3 FOOD I enjoy cooking, especially when I get to make something really delicious. But the need to have a balance sometimes gets in the way of my fun in the kitchen. I would be very much ok with leaving for a place where calories didn t count and everything tasted amazing! #2 PAIN AND SUFFERING No one likes to be sick or suffer. It breaks my heart to see my daughter fall and hurt herself or spend the night throwing up (and even worse if my hubby and I are throwing up too). And of course on this planet there is emotional suffering too. People are constantly fighting. No one seems to be able to get along for more than ten seconds. It doesn t matter if you are leaders of countries with opposing values or a husband and wife who can t decide on the color to pain the shutters tension is everywhere. I want to leave earth for a place where my family and I wouldn t have to deal with all the pain and suffering that life on this planet has been dealing us all these years. AND #1 INCOMPLETE I am incomplete here. Jesus Christ started a work in me when I chose to follow Him and make Him LORD of my life. That work won t be finished until I am face to face with Him in ... • 3. Victory Lap Change can be seen as a form of transformation or conversion. A form of change can be seen in Victory Lap by George Saunders, a short story written in such a way that the events that are enrolling throughout the story are being processed and told through the minds of three main characters. Having the perspective of each character allows us, the readers to get a much greater understanding about them and to make a better character analysis. Having said that, this story is simply about a girl, Alison getting kidnapped by an unnamed kidnapper. What were really captivating were the changes spotted on characters as the conflict progresses. One character in particular is very intriguing and his name is Kyle. One of our main character, Alison ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This overly cautious boy somehow finds himself rushing into the battlefront, where Alison was being dragged without any plan of action or resolve: What was he doing... (79). We notice here that Kyle doesn t even realize what he is doing as he incautiously rushes to the damsel in distress. This is quite un Kyle like for he had not properly conducted solution in overcoming the problem. Quite a change from the beginning of the story where Kyle would recognize the situation properly and come forth with proper procedures in order to confront it, like he did when he walked in the house with his shoes on and when he walked in the house with his dirty socks. Kyle changes from mentally rehearsing an event to bluntly rushing into action. Kyle was raised in a very strict environment where he would follow instructions that have been drilled into him all of his life. If he came home he would sign his name as if punching in and out of a workplace. He has to take of his shoes before entering the house and he has to record details in Kyle s Traffic Log requested by his dad. This is demonstrated when Kyle spots the van of the supposed meter reader and proceeds to fill a report on this event: On the counter was Kyle s Trafiic Log.... Smiling agreeably as if he ... • 4. Descriptives Of El Nino El nino is a temporary change in climate in the pacific ocean,in the region around the equator. You can see Typically, the ocean surface warms up by a few degrees celsius. El Niño is a climate cycle in the Pacific Ocean with a global impact on weather patterns. The cycle begins when warm water in the western tropical Pacific Ocean shifts eastward along the equator toward the coast of South America Normally, this warm water pools near Indonesia and the Philippines. During an El Niño, the Pacific s warmest surface waters sit offshore of northwestern South America. Forecasters declare an official El Niño when they see both ocean temperatures and rainfall from storms veer to the east. Experts also look for prevailing trade winds to weaken and even reverse direction during the El Niño climate phenomenon. These changes set up a feedback loop between the atmosphere and the ocean that boosts El Niño conditions. The El Niño forecast for 2015 is expected to be one of the strongest on record, according to Mike Halpert, the deputy director of the Climate Prediction Center, part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. We don t want to see just the warming in the ocean. We want to see the atmosphere above the ocean respond to the changes, said Michelle L Heureux, a climate scientist and lead for the El Niño forecasting team at the Climate Prediction Center. The location of tropical storms shifts eastward during an El Niño because atmospheric moisture is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Id, Ego, And Superego In The Lady With The Pet Dog In Joyce Oates short story The Lady with the Pet Dog, the main character, Anna, represents the Id, Ego, and Superego characteristics defined by Sigmund Freud. Anna is facing her morals (Superego) and feelings (Id), being confined to a marriage and detesting her affair. Because Anna is forced to balance a failing marriage, and loving her husband, while also loving a man who s not her husband, and not loving him because she can t, builds stress inside her and leads to rash desires and actions. Anna displays Freud s Id characteristics throughout, the things she wants most are life and love. Anna is in the middle of a dysfunctional marriage and starts an affair with another man. Her Id psyche is prevalent when her husband says that he loves her, but she thinks about her lover saying ...if betraying him (her husband) it would give her life a center (Oates 239). Anna s unconscious immature Id psyche thinks that the only way for her to have a purpose in life is to be with her lover, only looking for pleasure and not thinking about the consequences (McLeod). The Id is overlooking the common logic, she is married and her lover is married too, which is morally wrong, overriding the Superego. Anna s Id can be compared to that of a child s, like a kid at the store who asks his mom for candy, and when she says no he decides to steal the candy. In contrast, Anna says ....of course she was married, permanently married (Oates 246). Anna still can t make up her mind about her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Conceptual Foundations Of Psychology All sciences originally descended from philosophy and over the centuries the special sciences gradually became independent of this discipline, with Psychology being one of the last of the special sciences to separate from the parent during the 19th century (Banyard, Davies, Normal Winder, 2010). The questions and ideas in Psychology have been of interest since the time of the ancient Greeks, where philosophers inquired into how human beings know the world. Plato asked questions about human motivation ( Why do we act as we do? ) and Aristotle attempted to structure the human soul according to the five senses, imagination, common sense and memory (Leahey, 2004), which loosely reflect the study of perception and cognition in present day psychology. Although the conceptual foundations of psychology are to be found in philosophy, the inspiration for the creation of an independent science of psychology came from biology. The founders of psychology took a path to the mind through physiology, while a bigger influence came from a younger branch of biology evolution which through a shift in focus from the contents of the mind to the function of the mind, eventually gave rise to the different fields existing in psychology today such as psychobiology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology and more recently evolutionary psychology. Although psychologists have traditionally revered William Wundt as the founder of psychology, the historical reality is more complex. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Airborne Express 6 December 31st, 2007 To: Robert Brazier Senior Management Team of Airborne Express From: Strategic Analyst Re: Recommendations and Implementations for recent issues in Airborne Express Executive Summary: Airborne Express has many options available for sustainable growth and success in the coming years. After the recent 29% increase in revenue over the past year, there are opportunities to take into consideration that will boost this growth for the fourth quarter. This company should join the industry trend of distance based pricing. This will result in higher revenues, and will give Airborne Express a more substantial budget to merge with Roadway Package System in order to create a more technologically advanced tracking system. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... E mailing could possibly have a small effect on this industry, but this is not an option for most deliverable items, as well as legal documents. Depending on the urgency of a package being delivered, regular mailing systems propose a small threat on this industry. It obviously costs less, but it doesn t compare at all to the convenience of express delivery services. Buyer Power: The major consumers in this industry are basically anyone who intends on sending a package or letter to someone urgently or with the most convenience. It seems as if businesses use this industry the most, considering the importance of delivering and receiving products and other necessities to keep a company stable and on top of their game. Because there is barely any differentiation in this industry, it allows customers to easily shop around for the best prices. This raises price sensitivity and gives the consumer more customer power. Barriers to Entry: The threat of new entries in this industry is equally low as the threat of substitutes. There are few major players involved here, and it shows that for a new one to even exist they would need to have the capability of covering a large amount of cities in the United States. In order to have a main convenient center of business, as well as aircraft and an extensive amount of vehicles calls for a high capital investment. This would be extremely difficult for any new entries to be accountable for and would take years of hard work and sustainability ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Jewish Names Names are defined as a word or phrase that constitutes the distinctive designation of a person or thing.Names are important in all aspects of life, and one of the major usages of names are for identifaction purposes. Accrording to the book A person s name is thought to define and control his or her soul and destiny (Ber. 7b). Therefore, the selection of an appropriate name is a critical decision. In this paper we will be looking at the cultural aspect in relation to Jewish names. In the Jewsish culture,it was with careful examination they gave names, since they believed it would constitute to where or not the person is good or bad. They actually beliveied that the names which which was chooosen had the power to determine later personality. Since I loved California and since I didn t want my parents to pay for the extra out of state tuition, I decided to apply to in state (California) schools, such as Universities of California, California State Universities, and Private Universities. As I was applying to colleges, I decided to apply as a Statistics major. Even though I have never taken statistics classes before, I knew Statistics would be the best option for me due to many reasons. First of all, I was really good at and loved math, and I thought a degree in Statistics would get me better jobs than a degree in Mathematics. Secondly, I enjoyed playing around with baseball data, baseball stats and thus, I thought I could be able to play around with more baseball data if I study statistics. Finally, during my senior year, I never knew what field (sciences, business, social studies, etc.) I really wanted to get into and I felt that statistics can be applied to basically any field and thus would not hurt me in the future when I find something I really wanted to do. After five months of crossing my fingers and being nervous about my college acceptance, I got all my acceptance letters and rejection letters. Other than San Diego State University, I was given three other universities to choose from. As a result, my spring break of senior year was dedicated to visiting Universities and deciding which college I should go to. After a week or two of thinking, I decided to do pursue my ... They were sent from the Dauphin, son of the French King. The Dauphin s message is an insulting rejection of Henry s claim to the French dukedoms and refers to his reputation as a trivial pleasure seeker. The message is accompanied by a mocking gift of tennis balls, suggesting that he should go and play games. Dramatically this is a tense moment. The Dauphin has under estimated Henry. The childhood imagery of Henry has departed and now arose a new King. Henry is a reformed character. He admits that he did not value his position and responsibility when he was in his ... There is much confident in Henry s speech. He is contrasting the image of the tennis game to the game of war as he says we will in France, by God s Grace, play a set. There is a tone change, when he states God, but there is also reference to Henry s religious side. God permits Henry s anger. When Henry says play a set , he declares that they will play a game of war. There is a pun when Henry says courts. That all the courts of France will be disturbed. The word court is used in two different terms in Henry s speech. Firstly the term court could mean tennis courts and secondly it could mean the courts of France, where the battle will commence. Henry replies to the Dauphin that the tennis balls will be turned into gun stones, Hath turned his balls to gun stones, at the battle and this is an extended metaphor. Henry again refers to God, his soul. God is mentioned a few times by Henry and this establishes an image that God is on Henry s side. The word mock is used four times in Henry s lecture meaning he shows anger at the Dauphin s mockery of the tennis balls. Just as tennis is a mock game and the game they are going to play in France will make mockery of Dauphin judgement and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Organizational and Change Management Models Models of Organizational Change Introduction The world is experiencing unprecedented changes in the structure and operation of organizations. This has increased the challenges that confront organizations. New competition from unexpected places is a huge challenge. So are the cultural issues that come with a diverse, opinionated, and often far flung workforce. The need for fast acting, effective, sustained organizational change will continue to increase. In fact, it will increase even more rapidly than it is now. The flattening of the world through globalization has sent market forces in new directions. Organizations must react to this increasingly chaotic market swiftly and effectively. The McKinsey 7 S Model and Lewin s three step model are two of the most influential models of organizational change in the business world. The McKinsey 7 S model emphasizes the role of structural factors in organizational change, while Lewin s three step model is rooted in behavioral factors. Thesis: The McKinsey 7 S model is grounded in questionable research methods and an excessive focus on structural factors. Lewin s three step model is more incisive and relevant because it is rooted in principles of human behavior. Background McKinsey s 7 S Model In the book, In Search of Excellence, Peters and Water identified eight common features of excellent organizations, which they defined as organizations which have achieved sustained profitability and innovation. • 31. The Qualities Of A Hero In The SpongebobMovie A hero is someone few people can be. A hero is someone who is able to do a task no one else can do and be able to help in situations of need. A hero is someone who puts others people s needs ahead of his own to do what s good. Someone who has all the qualities of a hero is Spongebob. In his film The Spongebob Movie Stephen Hillenburg uses the character archetype the hero to show that we as humans need someone to lead us because when we face life s biggest challenges we need someone to help us out. Spongebob makes many bold moves in the beginning of the movie. This shows us how Spongebob is a character who does anything he can to do what he believes is good. Spongebob says something in the beginning of the film that showed me he was a hero. Yes I might only be a kid, but I will never stop trying to save mr. Krabs. This showed me his perseverance as people might doubt him in the beginning of his journey but he will never give up if he thinks he is doing something good. Spongebob now faces many challenges during the middle of the film. He doesn t give up though showing the audience how he will continue to attempt to save the whole city. Patrick says We can t get to Shell City now. Our car has been stolen and there is no way we will get the crown and come back in time. Spongebob then exclaims We can t stop now, if we go back Mr Krabs will die and the whole city will continue to be run by Plankton. He is able to get the strength not to give up even when it doesn t look like he will be able to save the city he still knows what he has to do even though he has gone through so much challenges. He was attacked my motorcycle gangs, guys with mustaches, giant worms, and a Cyclops but he didn t stop fighting. Spongebob comes back to the city with the king s crown, but there still a problem as Plankton has turned everyone into slaves. Spongebob then defeats Plankton and he says a powerful speech showing the audience how he is a hero. I ve learned a lot in the last 6 days, and if there is one thing that I have learned it is that you are who you are. I know I don t have any mermaid magic, or manager promotion, or any other thing. None of those can make me more than who I really am inside, a kid. But I did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
