History Of Gold, Legends, And The World Of The Legend Of...
Gold, legends have been made about it especially the legend of El Dorado but maybe the city isn t
actually a city just a plot of land that has produced 40% of all the worlds gold ore. Witwatersrand
Basin located in Johannesburg, South Africa has been called the richest gold field ever mined. In 1970
it produced 79% of the worlds gold output, but as a mineral that takes hundreds of years to produce it
was mined out, by 2009 it produced less that 9%. Gold has been a sign of wealth since the earliest
civilizations, being made into jewelry, money, or other materialistic objects. Therefore, making gold a
nice commodity to have access to, although not many people do. The first person to mine
Witwatersrand Basin was J.H. Davis a British prospector came across the land in 1852 where he
walked away with £600 worth in gold. Years later Jan Gerritze Bantjes was called the first and original
discoverer of one of the gold fields in June 1884 since none of the earlier miners owned the land. Due
to the large area covered in this basin many new fields were found each richer than the last. Today the
land is mined by Witwatersrand Gold Mining Company Ltd created in 1886 was the first mining
company on the reef. Most of the mining conditions in the early 1900 s was harsh and dangerous; the
mines were dark and the infrastructure of them were questionable. Due to the lack of machinery and
advancements that we have available now these mines were dug by men, mined by men, and

Poor Clare Research Paper
The Poor Clare s Monastery in New Orleans, Louisiana take a lot of their ideals and lifestyle choices
from the life of Saint Clare of Assisi, a close friend of Saint Francis of Assisi. These sisters main
ideals are living a life of prayer, community, and joy. They also believe that every sister should
embrace uniqueness of the monastery and their own personality. There are many Poor Clare Nuns in
the world, but each monastery is unique in its operations and daily life. The Poor Clare Sisters of New
Orleans are very typical ladies. They conduct Tuesday morning meanings in the library to make sure
the monastery is running smoothly. They discuss important issues, listen to each other s opinions, and
address needs of the monastery. On a lighter note, the sisters celebrate birthdays much like the rest of
society. They eat cake made from scratch, and the pictures suggest a sort of feast is held for the
occasion. They are encouraged to be themselves, and that can be shown through their artistic abilities
like music, crafting, cooking, or otherwise. The rose garden at the monastery is the perfect place to
relax and express themselves while being in the presence of the beauty of nature. The nuns in the
monastery each have their own simple living quarters consisting of one bed, one desk, one chair, and
one dresser. Since they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sisters at the Poor Clare s Monastery produce ceramics, paintings, ornaments (often picturing
local buildings), rosaries, and occasionally shrines to sell in their gift shop. The busiest time for the
gift shop is Christmas time because people tend to buy gifts for loved ones. The sisters also provide
counseling in person or on the phone to those who need it. Although, that is not a way that they
acquire profit. Most of the money required to run the monastery comes from major donors who

Analyzing Claude Chabrol s Essay Little Themes
Name: Dorcas Bamigboye.
Student Number: 7781917.
Course: FILM 2380.
Instructors Name: Jonah Corne.
Reading Response 4. In the essay Little Themes by Claude Chabrol, Claude Chabrol argues that the
script of a movie does not matter, but the theme of the movie is the most important. He says there is
no such thing as a big theme and a little theme , because the smaller the theme is, the more one can
give it a big treatment. In this essay we are made to understand that a film s moral position should be
in its form and style, not in an underlying social message in its narrative and that the content of a
movie is subject to style. Style is something that is personal to each filmmaker. Style is what
differentiate movies from one another. Several

Narrative Essay About Gilmore Girls
Lorelai raised me. Luke fed me. Emily wanted me. And above all, Richard knew me. Stars Hallow,
circa 2001, stands as the place I come from. At the cusp of Autumn, it all began. The necessary foliage
is sprinkled purposely around the gutters. There She Goes, is playing in the background. This is
Gilmore Girls, at its best. Hold back your flashbacks. Stop thinking of Dawson s Creek, One Tree Hill,
Seventh Heaven, or any other 90 s teenage crap drama. This show is so much more than a single mom,
a budding teenage daughter, a controlling relationship, a Connecticut town, or an eccentric neighbor.
At its core, Gilmore Girls stands as the essence of who I am. Now a days, it is considered a social
priority to find favor in current mind bending intellectual feasts of television. A young scholar such as
myself, is expected to be elbow deep in the latest Aaron Sorkin. Yet, I cling to the wholesome, extinct
WB network. If that makes me a phony, a goon, or a pretentious soccer mom, so be it. Through and
through, I have watched all seven seasons eight times. At twelve years old I entered the world. Today,
I can not say for certain that I have left. I wake up in Stars Hallow and eat my breakfast with the
always colorful neighbors, Babette and Morey. After school, I do my homework ... Show more content

I settled for a private viewing of the reunion in the comfortable seating of my own home. On G Day I

opened up on the average humid June day. Three girls sat on a stage. They congregated as if they had

Greek Point Of View Essay
I felt a sense of eeriness; the luminescent light powered by the glowing full moon, pierced through the
thick waves of cloud that coated the night sky. Archaic cobblestone with moss slithering its way
between sat below as flocks of people flourished the tiny streets of Bucharest on this Friday night.
Goodnight Stefan, I waved as I entered my hotel.

Waking up to light beaming onto my face was strange as there were no windows present in the room
that I last remembered. I came to the realisation that my bed was incredibly soft as I had sunk into the
mattress, suffocating in the thick blankets. The permeating light coerced my eyes to open into a squint.
I was shocked. It was as though I had woken up in a different house. The bed I sat in, was no ordinary
bed. It was quite monstrous, dark wood engraved with elaborate carvings, grand with large draped
coverings on the sides. The warped floorboards with rusty nails stabbed in, was compiled of bent
wooden fibres. A large knob less wooden door sat in the wall, poorly constructed letting specs of light
to sneak their way through. I hesitated as my hand reached for it, the curiosity of what was behind it
engulfed me. I pushed, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bizarre sounds gradually got louder and peculiar smells overwhelmed my nose as the world behind

still becoming used to the effulgent light. Mesmerised by the beautiful sight of what appeared to be a
large square, surrounded by townhouses varying from dark beige to a dirty brown seemingly no more
than five metres in height. The square s ground comprised of roughly arranged cobblestones, as if
whoever lay them were in a hurry. At the opposite side of the square to where I stood, I could see a
monumental tower that loomed over the square. It had a single window, overlooking the

Lower Body Research Paper
The lower body is made up of a variety of muscles, including the largest or the gluteus maximus. The
gluteus maximus is the most visible gluteal muscle, but there are two smaller muscles underneath it:
the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus. The glutes are responsible for hip movements, such as
extension, rotation and abduction (moving the thigh away from the body). It s also heavily involved in
that dance many of us have tried shaking your booty.
Below the glutes and on the back of the thighs are the hamstrings, which include three different
muscles: The biceps femoris, the semitendinosus and the semimembranosus. The hamstrings work to
bring the heel toward the butt (knee flexion) and to move the leg backward (hip extensions).
The quadriceps ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Working these muscles means you ll not only build strength and lean muscle tissue, but you ll also
burn more calories. Strong legs will also make daily activities easier and help protect you from injury.
How Often Should You Train Your Lower Body?
Like all muscles in your body, you can perform lower body exercises up to three nonconsecutive days
a week. If you re lifting heavy weights (enough that you can only complete six to eight repetitions),
you ll need two or more days of rest before you perform the exercise again. For this reason, you might
only work your lower body once or twice a week. If your goal is endurance and strength, stick with 1
to 3 sets of 12 to 16 repetitions and at least one day of rest before you perform the exercises again.
What Exercises Should You Do?
The most common exercises for the butt, hips and thighs are squats, lunges and deadlifts. Try to
include a variety of exercises that target all the lower body muscles for a well rounded routine. These
lower body exercises offer a variety of options for working your butt, hips and

Lewis Addison Armistead And The Civil War
Lewis Addison Armistead was a brigadier general in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He
participated in the Mexican American War, the Mojave War, and the Civil War. Armistead s heritage
included great participation in the military of the United States and ties to Virginia during the colonial
period. Armistead was born February 18, 1817 in New Bern, North Carolina. Lewis came from a high
ranking military family. His father, George Armistead was the commander of Fort McHenry during
the War of 1812, and his grandfather, John Stanly was a United Stated Congressman, and uncle
Edward Stanly was a military governor of Eastern North Carolina during the Civil War. Due to his
family connection to the United States military and government, Lewis attended the West Point in
1834. He attended West Point as a cadet until he broke a plate over Jubal Early s head, which led to
his dismissal in 1836. Along with the misconduct, he had troubles academically with French class.
After his dismissal he was still able to attain a spot in the Sixth US Infantry as second lieutenant on
July 10, 1839 from George Armistead s help. Later he was promoted to First Lieutenant in 1844 after
serving under his father in the Second Seminole War. Lewis then married his wife Cecilia Lee Love
later that year. According to militaryhistory.about.com Cecilia was a distant cousin of Robert E. Lee.

Executive Order Dbq Essay
During World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union created an alliance to prevent Nazi
Germany from spreading their fascist and radical ideals, but after the war, it quickly became apparent
that both countries had intentions to exploit their previously stable relationship. Shortly after World
War II, the Soviet Union made it their primary goal to expand their communist policies across Europe
(and eventually the world). Their communist policies heavily contradicted the reason why the United
States joined World War II, contrasted American ideals, and placed American democracy in jeopardy.
Although relations seemed healthy shortly after the war, the relationship between the United States
and the Soviet Union dwindled to war due to the United States ... Show more content on

The United States involved itself in World War II to preserve democracy, but when Joseph Stalin made
it his top priority to spread communism across Europe, the United States goal was endangered. As a
result, in 1947, President Harry Truman created Executive Order 9835, which called for a loyalty
investigation of every person entering the civilian employment of any department or agency of the
executive branch of the Federal Government (Document 1). Truman s Executive Order exhibits a clear
distrust of the protection of American ideals, as Truman would have never instituted this policy if he
were not paranoid of the communistic plague. Truman s paranoia was not only displayed by Executive
Order 9835, but also emulated by the American people. Truman s Doctrine spurred fear across the
American public, most prominently showed in the trial of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. The Rosenberg
s were unfairly tried and biasedly considered communists by the American government, ultimately
resulting in execution. As seen by Elliot Erwitt s photographs, the American public was enraged and
feared communist ideals (Document

Navicular Syndrome Research Paper
Navicular syndrome, or navicular disease, is a hoof problem in horses. Navicular syndrome is a
degenerating bone disease that causes lameness in the horse. It deteriorates the navicular bone as well
as the surrounding tissues. Navicular generally occurs on the front feet and happens when horses are
between the age of eight and twelve. Navicular can lead to significant and even disabling lameness (
Navicular Problems: Symptoms and Treatment). The navicular bone is a small bone in a horse s hoof
that sits in between the coffin bone and the pastern. The bone is shaped like a canoe. This led to the
name navicular bone. The prefix nvicu means small boat in Latin. The bone is also called the distal
sesamoid bone
( Navicular Problems: Symptoms and Treatment). Associated with the navicular bone are several
structures of soft tissue. The collateral sesamoidean ligament is located on the upper side of the bone.
This ligament attaches to the distal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the most common ways to prevent navicular is proper shoeing and care of the feet, as well as
adding joint supplements to feed. If a horse has navicular syndrome, corrective shoeing is an option.
There are many types of shoes used when treating a horse with navicular. Some of these shoes are a
wedge shoe, heart bar shoes, egg bar shoes, and steel shoes with a pad insert. Another form of
treatment is anti inflammatory drugs such as phenylbutazone. Most horsemen call it Bute for short.
This drug can come in the form of oral paste or mix in powder. There is also coffin injections which
help give the horse more cushion between the navicular bone and the coffin bone. A neurectomy, or
denerving, is the process in which the nerves are surgically removed from the hoof so the horse has no
more feeling to the foot. Studies show that almost 60 percent of horses with navicular will get a
neurectomy (Navicular

Metro Man As A Villain In The Metro Man
Although Metro Man is portrayed as one who aims to serve Metro City and its residents, he acts as the
indirect root of villainy in the city. While Megamind is portrayed as the villain early in the film, Metro
Man is the real villain in Megamind (McGrath, 2010) as he acts in an extremely selfish manner
throughout the film, as displayed in particular by his actions towards Megamind, and in this creates
and supports continued actions of evil intent towards the people of Metro City. Metro Man involves
himself in the creation of villainy through his ostracization of Megamind, encouraging him to become
a villain, and his abandonment of Metro City in its time of need for purely selfish reasons. From the
beginning of both of their lives on Earth, Metro Man acts to separate Megamind from the rest of
acceptable society. He does this by initially dropping him in prison, and then later treating him as an
outcast in school. Pushing Megamind from the rest of the population serves to provide him with the
impetus to engage in chaotic and evil actions. Joseph Campbell described what the hero s journey
consists of in saying, A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of
supernatural wonder... comes back from the mysterious adventure with power to bestow boons (as
cited in Alsford, 2006, p. 24). Metro Man does not move through this journey, he never reaches a
crisis, and he never goes on a mysterious adventure, however Megamind does go through this. In
contrast to Metro Man, Megamind is forced out of society at the hands of Metro Man for years, but
eventually comes back as a hero as the result of a traumatic event. Megamind is the obvious hero of
the movie, and when compared to Metro Man who s clearly not the hero initially brought up to be. In
the interim period, Megamind tries to do evil across the city, though this is only because he feels like
an outcast due to how Metro Man treats him in school. Megamind is forced to confront his point of
crisis for years as he is thrust from the world because of his clumsiness, forcing him to inflict pain and
suffering on others. This pursuit of his is only natural as the two paths one can take from trauma are to
recede from the world or to embrace it and attempt to

Cranial Structure
The primary structure in the cranial cavity is the brain which has a mass around 1300 grams and make
up by approximately 100 billion neurons and 10 to 50 trillion neuroglia in adults (Tortora and
Derrickson, 2011). The weight of the brain increases rapidly during the first four years of life and
reaches the maximum weight around twentieth years (Gallucci et al., 2005). The brain is the portion of
central nervous system that act as control center for registering sensation correlated with one another
and with stored information, decision making, and actions. Furthermore, it also acts as a center for the
intellectual, emotions, behavior and memories (Tortora and Derrickson, 2011).
The brain is covered by meninges layers consisting the dura mater, the arachnoid mater and the pia
mater. The dura mater forms the outermost layer of meninges that act as a protective and supportive if
the brain. While the arachnoid mater and the pia mater form the middle and the innermost layer of
meninges respectively. Furthermore, the subarachnoid space lies between the arachnoid and pia mater
responsible for circulation of cerebrospinal fluid and contains most of blood vessels in the brain

According to the general relativity theory, a sufficiently compact mass has the capacity to deform
spacetime thereby forming what is commonly known as a black hole, a point around which the
gravitational force is too strong. Imagine a giant building, a skyscraper for example, being compacted
and compressed to the size of a Rubik s cube. This happens to the massive dying star at the end of its
life.
For nearly 200 years now, theorists have postulated the existence of black holes and now there is
strong evidence to support that most, if not all galaxies have black holes that are essentially millions
or even billions of times heavier than the sun (Volonteri, 2010). Coined in 1967 by the American
Physicist John Arichbald Wheeler, the term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Precisely, an object falling into a black hole appears to slow down as it draws nearer to the event
horizon but never really reaches it, due to the gravitational time dilation effect (Nrumiano, n.d).
Similarly, an outside observer will experience all processes on an object nearing the event horizon as
slowed down, and the emitted light will appear dimmer and redder due to the gravitational red shift
effect; as soon as the falling object reaches the event horizon, it becomes so dim that it can never be
seen. Black holes often form at the ends of the lives of massive stars as these stars often collapse at the
end of their life cycle, when all the sources of nuclear fusion in a star are exhausted (Kaaret Ford,
1997). After forming, black holes have the capacity of increasing in size by swallowing up mass from
their environments such as nearby stars and fusing with other black holes thereby creating super
massive black holes whose mass exceeds several million solar masses (Alexander, Smail, Bauer,
Chapman, et al., 2005). Astronomers have reached a general consensus that nearly all galaxies have
super massive black holes at their centres (Cattaneo,

My Reflection Of Skype
Skype Reflection I will start by saying that our conversations with everyone over Skype has been my
favorite thing I have had the pleasure to do since I have been in college. It was different, informative,
intriguing, and easily the most interesting exchange I have ever had. I not only appreciate having been
given the opportunity to be a part of this conversation, but feel fortunate to have taken part in learning
about others and their way of life. After speaking with Chris Saunders and Panos and Stefania, I re
read Hofstede s dimensions and felt I learned more and understood it better after speaking with them. I
feel that I can read something repeatedly, but having a good example and seeing it first hand is the
best learning experience I can have. To have a good take away from the book with an even better
example was the best way to learn this subject. When speaking to Chris Saunders from Wales and
England, I first noticed that he seemed as nervous as we did. He was able to answer our questions with
great content and was really funny. I felt that he had a great amount of individuality and held true to
his own beliefs. I also feel that Chris showed that he fits into the masculinity dimension as he is
successful as a writer and driven as a teacher. Since he has moved around so much, he shows that he
personally has a low uncertainty avoidance, as he can take risks and is less resistant to change. An
example of this is he was able to move to China, not knowing much about the culture or the language
and take the changes as they came at him. When it came to talking to Chris, I think what surprised me
the most was that there is a gap between 16 and 18 from what we would call high school to college. In
the United States kids wouldn t know what to do with themselves and I can t imagine what kind of
trouble they would get into. It also surprised me that he has lived in so many places. He has had the
opportunity to learn so about so many cultures and meet so many people and that is incredible. My
impressions of Chris were that he is very intelligent and funny. He has a great sense of what he wants
in life and is able to accomplish those goals. Because of his individuality he is able to make his own
choices and do

Statement Of Purpose In Financial Engineering
From childhood, I have been passionate about mathematics and problem solving. Given the
quantitative focus of engineering, I pursued my undergraduate studies in civil engineering. During my
years in college, I used my elective courses to explore subjects from different disciplines. Of these, I
developed a deep interest in finance, particularly the financial markets and trading. To know more in
finance, I later enrolled in CFA level 1, participated in virtual stock market competitions, did an
internship in equity research and started trading with some personal funds.
To further my passion for financial markets, I took up a job as a derivatives trader, trading commodity

Sleep Dealer The Father Thing Analysis
Science fiction has contributed to shaping us as a society in lots of different ways. I believe that it has
supplied ideas of technology such as: iPhones, laptops, tablets, etc. Somewhere an author is writing
about something that we think would be impossible to create, but will most likely become a reality
someday. There are devices now for things as simple as reading a book. Yes, some aspects of these
ideas are much easier than carrying around your books, however, what does this mean for paper
books, and book stores? The idea of an object doing something to make life easier for us, is more than
appealing to people. It is our instinct to want to get things done and get them done quickly. There are
the select few people that stick to the traditional way of doing things, but it s rare for you to find
someone who completely lives by this. It is easy for people to make distinctions between robots and
humans when they re asked, but when the actual thing is standing in front of you it won t be as easy. Is
there really as much of a difference between us as we think there is? There are devices for almost
anything that you re going to do. When you go running you can bring your phone that will easily track
your distance, and some can even tell you how much weight you ve lost. In the movie Sleep ... Show

Character Analysis
Jimmy serves as the voice of protest throughout the play. Make a list of the ways Jimmy fulfills this
role.
In Davis drama the character Jimmy serves as a voice of protest against the works highlighting of
discrimination against Aborigines between 1929 to 1934. Jimmy is an Aboriginal man who despises
the fact he is not equal in society to the white man and is not regarded as a person by the government.
Through Jimmy s words and actions we see him openly stand up for himself and his people in they
way they are treated by white people subsequently fulfilling his role as the voice of protest in the play.
The most dramatic example of Jimmy fulfilling his service is when he argues with Mr Neville, the ...

Proper Wear of Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Former Wartime...
The original intent behind the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia Former Wartime Service (SSI FWTS), more
commonly referred to as a Combat Patch, was to show appreciation for an individual soldier s support
in combat operations. It was also, originally, applicable only to soldiers who were assigned or serving
with larger deployed echelons such as brigades, divisions, corps, Army commands or higher. The
Army Regulation (AR) covering the Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia is 670 1. In
Paragraph 28, sub section 17, the guidelines for the combat patch are specifically detailed and
outlined. The general guidelines for wear of the combat patch are: 1. Wear is reserved for individuals
who were members of United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This policy change is effective immediately and is not retroactive. In addition, the policy change and
guidance is applicable to Soldiers of all components that deploy during periods of service designated
for wear of the SSI FWTS, in accordance with AR 670 1, Paragraph 28 17. Originally, for a Soldier to
be authorized to wear a combat patch , the regulation required a minimum of thirty days in the
specified combat zone before approval of a combat patch could be authorized for wear. Under the new
guidance, this also has changed and states that there is now no time in theater requirement to be
authorized to wear the SSI FWTS. When a Soldier is initially assigned or re assigned to a new unit,
they are authorized and required to wear the patch specific to that command on their left sleeve. Under
the new guidance, when a Soldier is deployed to a designated combat zone, those Soldiers are now
authorized to wear the company level or higher patch that they serve with on their right sleeves. One
of the most prevalent changes is that the authorization of a combat patch is no longer dictated by the
Unit s Headquarters element deploying. It also no longer matters how many times the Units alignment
or Operational Control (OPCON) changes during the deployment. When an element below Company
level deploy, the Soldiers assigned to that element are now mandated to wear the

Introduction:
Vertical Integration is the process in which several steps in the production and/or distribution of a
product or service are controlled by a single company or entity, in order to increase that company s or
entity s power in the market place. Vertical expansion is also known as a vertical acquisition.
Nineteenth century steel tycoon Andrew Carnegie s example in the use of vertical integration led
others to use the system to promote financial growth and efficiency in their businesses.
Vertical integration can be a highly important strategy, but it is notoriously difficult to implement
successfully and when it turns out to be the wrong strategy costly to fix.
1.1 Breaking down Vertical Integration:
Backward and forward integration are types of vertical integration. A company that expands backward
on the production path has backward integration, while a company that expands forward on the
production path is forward integrated.
Examples of vertical integration include:
A private company that both originates and services mortgages, meaning that it both lends money to
homebuyers and collects their monthly payments.
A solar power company that produces photovoltaic products and also manufacturers the

To this day, The Globe s mission statement is to To promote and improve the understanding and

performance (Shakespeare s Globe Trust). With this statement, they explore Shakespearean techniques
such as performing in time period costumes, exploring women and men playing both genders, and
producing work that relies heavily on the act and their performance rather than heavily lighting and

Essay on Analysis of Birches
Analysis of Birches
The discursive blank verse meditation Birches does not center on a continuously encountered and
revealing nature scene; rather, it builds a mosaic of thoughts from fragments of memory and fantasy.
Its vividness and genial, bittersweet speculation help make it one of Frost s most popular poems, and
because its shifts of metaphor and tone invite varying interpretation it has also received much critical
discussion, not always admiring. The poem moves back and forth between two visual perspectives:
birch trees as bent by boys playful swinging and by ice storms, the thematic interweaving being
somewhat puzzling. The birches bent across the lines of straighter darker trees subtly introduce the
theme of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Frost s speaker then self consciously breaks from his realistic but metaphorically fantasied digression
to say he would prefer to have some boy bend the birches, which action becomes a symbol for
controlled experience, as contrasted with the genial fatality of ice storms. The boy s fancied
playfulness substitutes for unavailable companionship, making for a thoughtful communion with
nature, which rather than teach him wisdom allows him to learn it. Despite the insistence on the
difference between ice storms permanent damage to birches and a boy s temporary effects, the boy
subdues and conquers the trees. His swinging is practice for maintaining life s difficult and precarious
balances.
The third part of the poem begins with a more personal and philosophical tone. The speaker claims to
have been such a youthful swinger of birches, an activity he can go back to only by dreaming. The
birch trees, probably both ice bent and boy swung, stand for the order and control missing from
ordinary experience. The considerations he is weary of are conflicting claims that leave him
disoriented and stung. The desire to get away from earth, importantly qualified by awhile, shows a
yearning for the ideal or perhaps for the imaginative isolation of the birch swinger. His I d like to

Feline Leukemia Research Paper
Feline Leukemia (FeLV) was first discovered in the 1960 s. FeLV, is a virus transmitted by RNA, that
only felines can get. It is not transmittable to humans, dogs, or any other animals. FeLV is actually the
leading cause of death in cats, killing 85% of those infected within 3 years of diagnosis. With that
being said, it s very important for cat owners to regularly take their cats to the veterinarian for check
ups, as well as keeping them on a proper and healthy diet, which in turn will help prevent them from
being exposed to FeLV, and many other viruses.
Feline Leukemia is extremely common; it s spread through saliva, blood, nasal secretions and at times
urine and feces. Once infected within 2 4 weeks an acute stage of the infection begins. It weakens the
immune system, allowing all other viruses and diseases to be transmitted much easier including,
kidney disease, lymph sarcoma, and even anemia. Once infected the cat becomes more susceptible to
bacterial infections like FIP. Feline Leukemia is able to spread easily; because of this being groomed
after an infected cat, fighting an infected cat, or any contact with a cat carrying the FeLV virus, may
transmit the virus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Keep your cat indoors; the majority of infected cats are outdoor cats, or indoor/outdoor cats. Have
your cat tested annually, you may not know it but your cat could be spreading the virus to other cats.
Knowing if your cat is infected isn t just for your cat s health, but for all other cats that they may come
in contact with. On average, testing 1,000 feral cats will result in the identification of 60 cats who test
positive for either FIV or FeLV; that would mean $12,000 needs to be spent to identify 60 positive
cats. That same $12,000, at an average spay/neuter cost of $50, could be put instead towards neutering

Five Rules For Research Paper
In 1967 when Sister Corita Kent came up with a set of ten rules or highly thoughtout life guidlines,
her intentions were not to make them set rules, but rather, suggestions open for interpertation. As I was
reading over the rules, I saw them as simple life lessons that could help me become more succesful as
a human being. These rules expand past college, they take my thought process into real life situations
and how they can be used in the future to better myself. As I was going down the list a few rules really
stood out to me; both Rules two and three, Rule five, and Rule nine. These four made me actually stop
and really dig deep into researching their meaning. Both two and three go together so I interperted
them as one. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To be disciplined is to follow in a good way. To be self disciplined is to follow in a better way. I
interpereted the rule very crucially, meaning choosing the right person to follow is crucial to your
future as a human being. All it takes for your life to go downhill is following in the footsteps of a
terrible influence. Even though choosing a role model is a very smart thing to, your own self should be
the biggest inspiration in your life. You should believe in yourself before believing in anybody else.
The reason I believe this rule is so important because it stresses that influencing yourself is far more
beneficial than being influenced by others even though its ok to be infuenced by others! And when
you have been self influenced you will begin to build structure with yourself leading to self
diciplinary.
Finally Rule Nine states: Be happy whenever you can manage it. Enjoy yourself. Its lighter than you
think. This rule is my favorite because I believe its the realest rule of them all. Life is to short to not
enjoy the little things that blossum from the darkest moments. When stress levels rise you tend to
think that it is the end of the world, but even from the hardest of the hardest times if there is a few
seconds to be happy, make sure you charish that little moment. The hard times that drag you down can
be extremely dense, but the happiness that can be shed from that is so delicate and

The Adventure Of A Speckled Band By Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
In the mysterious and intriguing story, The Adventure of a Speckled Band, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,
a clever detective by the name of Sherlock Holmes and his loyal assistant Dr. Watson quickly solved a
forever evolving case. In a small town in April, 1883, a woman by the name of Helen Stoner fears for
her life with her impending wedding. She questions the mysterious and sudden death of her sister
Julia. Helen Stoner approached Sherlock Holmes, hoping that he would assist her in this state of panic.
Sherlock Holmes, intrigued by the severity of the case, listened intently on the information Helen
provided. Helen s stepfather, Dr. Grimesby Roylott, was known as a violent man who is unable to
control his temper. Dr. Roylott, a wealthy man, lived on a large plot known as Stoke Moran, where
Helen lived as well. Stoke Moran is the place of death for Helen s sister Julia. Helen told Holmes that
a low whistle could be heard in the middle of the night, adding that she heard the whistle on the night
of Julia s death. Despite this, the court concluded that no individual had killed Julia; although it was
believed she died of natural causes. Yet, Sherlock Holmes will not settle for this conclusion and took
on the case, planning to further investigate Stoke Moran until Dr. Roylott himself confronts Holmes in
his office telling him to mind his own business. Of course, Holmes and Watson disregarded Dr.
Roylott s threats, arriving at the crime scene later that same day. As Holmes and

euphemistic. He explains that, ...it is broadly true that political writing is bad writing and results to a
politician being unconscious of what he is saying (Orwell). Even though this essay was written in

Metaphors have been constantly twisted to aid a concept that the speaker or writer is trying to make

a key example of what Orwell would deduce as pieces of clumsiness . Adding in metaphors can save

My Life As A Better Life
A lot of people would always look back at their childhood and say, Wow! Those were good times. To
me, it wasn t. I was easy to get picked on as I was chubby and I am unable to speak Bahasa Indonesia
fluently. In my elementary school, I began to get a lot of hatred from my classmates as they would

I met Chan Young Jeon, or as known as CY. Despite my traumatizing childhood, CY helped me

this ability and it has become second nature for him. When I moved to Malaysia, he could tell that I
was timid. When he sat next to me, he began to ask questions about my age, the places I ve been and
my impression of Malaysia. At first, I did not know what to do because usually, no one would go up to
me. When he struck a conversation, I began to mumble and he could tell I was scared. As he realized
this, he took me around the school and I asked him questions such as How is the community here? Are
they friendly? When I asked him these questions, he immediately knew I got bullied frequently. He
began to introduce me to some of his friends and taught me how to socialize. Out of curiosity, I asked
him Why are you helping me? He replied back I know you have been through a rough patch and you
seem like you need a friend to guide you. I began to understand why he was compassionate towards
other people. He did this to make sure that they are not alone in this and lending a helping hand allows
other people to not feel abandoned. CY wasn t very diligent in school. He is a strong procrastinator
and he would try to skip school. Despite his bad habits, he was able to make money independently by

The Benefits Of Education In This Is Water By David Foster...
Many high school students have grown jaded with the modern education system, sitting for hours in a
classroom almost every day having seemingly useless information crammed into their brains. At some
point, the curiosity died and left behind the average student of today. Most people will agree that a
change must occur within the way the youth receives an education; however, fewer people have
touched on the concept that the students must change their mindsets as well. They must all look
beyond the surface level education that teachers tend to focus on and understand what more they can
gain. Throughout David Foster Wallace s speech This is Water, Wallace primarily employs didactic
little parable ish stories along with hyperbolic examples to enforce the idea that the true benefits of
education come from learning simple awareness rather than knowledge. Almost immediately, Wallace
inserts the opening to the story that gives his speech a title, speaking about two young fish that
eventually come across an an older fish who asks them the oddly perplexing question of how s the
water? . He then goes on to explain that somehow, the fish do not understand the obvious fact that they
live in the water, it surrounds them. This story serves as an introduction to the point Wallace hopes to
give his audience, that a liberal arts education is not so much about filling you up with knowledge as it
is about quote teaching you how to think. The speaker then prompts his audience to

Conclusion
In this study, a polymer inclusion membrane was prepared and succevally applied for the removal of
citric acid from synthetic wastewater. The mixture of CTA and CA was found to be the optimum base
polymer for quantitative transport of citric acid. Moreover, the nature of carrier especially alkyl chain
length, stirring rate, and pH of feed phase are also important factors affecting the increased rate of
citric acid transport. Hence, from results obtained it can be seen that the investigated
calix[4]resorcinarene are effective extractants for citric acid and that their extraction abilities depend
on the alkyl chain length of the substituent in the macrocycle. Choosing the appropriate length of alkyl
chain, very selective system can be designed. The excellent efficiency for the citric acid transport by
the proposed PIM system reveals its potential application for the selective removal, concentration and
purification of citric acid from different media.

On April 28th, 2010 cleanup crews were rushing to clean up a huge oil spill on the Gulf of Mexico.
This spill occurred because of an oil rig explosion that took place on April 20th. The oil spill was
threatening miles of coast line in four different states, and not to mention marine wild life that live in
those waters. This oil spill soon became the worst oil spill the United States had ever seen. There were
126 workers on board the oil rig when it exploded, most of the workers escaped, but eleven were
missing but then confirmed dead. The cause of the explosion is being investigated. Since the
explosion, experts estimated a total of 210,000 gallons of oil were spilling into the gulf. Experts are
also worried about the sea life and how

Youth Culture In The 1960s
The years after World War II was a very prosperous time for the United States and things seem to
getting better, however, for many that wasn t the case. Non white ethnic groups and younger people

differences between the youth culture and the adult culture is that the youth culture was more willing
to take risks in their behavior, probably due to the fact that they are young in the first place and having
less responsibility than their adult counterparts. The youth in the 1960s had developed a bit of an
edginess to them because of the changing political

creatures from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope. When we die, our bodies become the grass,
and the antelope eat the grass. And so we re all connected in the great Circle of Life. (Disney). Simba
soon realizes that Mufasa is right, everything is connected in the Circle of Life. A few days later Scar

  • 2. History Of Gold, Legends, And The World Of The Legend Of... Gold, legends have been made about it especially the legend of El Dorado but maybe the city isn t actually a city just a plot of land that has produced 40% of all the worlds gold ore. Witwatersrand Basin located in Johannesburg, South Africa has been called the richest gold field ever mined. In 1970 it produced 79% of the worlds gold output, but as a mineral that takes hundreds of years to produce it was mined out, by 2009 it produced less that 9%. Gold has been a sign of wealth since the earliest civilizations, being made into jewelry, money, or other materialistic objects. Therefore, making gold a nice commodity to have access to, although not many people do. The first person to mine Witwatersrand Basin was J.H. Davis a British prospector came across the land in 1852 where he walked away with £600 worth in gold. Years later Jan Gerritze Bantjes was called the first and original discoverer of one of the gold fields in June 1884 since none of the earlier miners owned the land. Due to the large area covered in this basin many new fields were found each richer than the last. Today the land is mined by Witwatersrand Gold Mining Company Ltd created in 1886 was the first mining company on the reef. Most of the mining conditions in the early 1900 s was harsh and dangerous; the mines were dark and the infrastructure of them were questionable. Poor Clare Research Paper The Poor Clare s Monastery in New Orleans, Louisiana take a lot of their ideals and lifestyle choices from the life of Saint Clare of Assisi, a close friend of Saint Francis of Assisi. These sisters main ideals are living a life of prayer, community, and joy. They also believe that every sister should embrace uniqueness of the monastery and their own personality. There are many Poor Clare Nuns in the world, but each monastery is unique in its operations and daily life. The Poor Clare Sisters of New Orleans are very typical ladies. They conduct Tuesday morning meanings in the library to make sure the monastery is running smoothly. They discuss important issues, listen to each other s opinions, and address needs of the monastery. On a lighter note, the sisters celebrate birthdays much like the rest of society. They eat cake made from scratch, and the pictures suggest a sort of feast is held for the occasion. They are encouraged to be themselves, and that can be shown through their artistic abilities like music, crafting, cooking, or otherwise. The rose garden at the monastery is the perfect place to relax and express themselves while being in the presence of the beauty of nature. In the essay Little Themes by Claude Chabrol, Claude Chabrol argues that the script of a movie does not matter, but the theme of the movie is the most important. He says there is no such thing as a big theme and a little theme , because the smaller the theme is, the more one can give it a big treatment. In this essay we are made to understand that a film s moral position should be in its form and style, not in an underlying social message in its narrative and that the content of a movie is subject to style. Style is something that is personal to each filmmaker. Style is what differentiate movies from one another. Several ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Narrative Essay About Gilmore Girls Lorelai raised me. Luke fed me. Emily wanted me. And above all, Richard knew me. Stars Hallow, circa 2001, stands as the place I come from. At the cusp of Autumn, it all began. The necessary foliage is sprinkled purposely around the gutters. There She Goes, is playing in the background. This is Gilmore Girls, at its best. Hold back your flashbacks. Stop thinking of Dawson s Creek, One Tree Hill, Seventh Heaven, or any other 90 s teenage crap drama. This show is so much more than a single mom, a budding teenage daughter, a controlling relationship, a Connecticut town, or an eccentric neighbor. At its core, Gilmore Girls stands as the essence of who I am. Now a days, it is considered a social priority to find favor in current mind bending intellectual feasts of television. A young scholar such as myself, is expected to be elbow deep in the latest Aaron Sorkin. Yet, I cling to the wholesome, extinct WB network. If that makes me a phony, a goon, or a pretentious soccer mom, so be it. Through and through, I have watched all seven seasons eight times. At twelve years old I entered the world. Today, I can not say for certain that I have left. I wake up in Stars Hallow and eat my breakfast with the always colorful neighbors, Babette and Morey. After school, I do my homework ... Archaic cobblestone with moss slithering its way between sat below as flocks of people flourished the tiny streets of Bucharest on this Friday night. Goodnight Stefan, I waved as I entered my hotel. *** Waking up to light beaming onto my face was strange as there were no windows present in the room that I last remembered. I came to the realisation that my bed was incredibly soft as I had sunk into the mattress, suffocating in the thick blankets. The permeating light coerced my eyes to open into a squint. I was shocked. It was as though I had woken up in a different house. The bed I sat in, was no ordinary bed. It was quite monstrous, dark wood engraved with elaborate carvings, grand with large draped coverings on the sides. The warped floorboards with rusty nails stabbed in, was compiled of bent wooden fibres. A large knob less wooden door sat in the wall, poorly constructed letting specs of light to sneak their way through. The gluteus maximus is the most visible gluteal muscle, but there are two smaller muscles underneath it: the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus. The glutes are responsible for hip movements, such as extension, rotation and abduction (moving the thigh away from the body). It s also heavily involved in that dance many of us have tried shaking your booty. Below the glutes and on the back of the thighs are the hamstrings, which include three different muscles: The biceps femoris, the semitendinosus and the semimembranosus. Strong legs will also make daily activities easier and help protect you from injury. How Often Should You Train Your Lower Body? Like all muscles in your body, you can perform lower body exercises up to three nonconsecutive days a week. If you re lifting heavy weights (enough that you can only complete six to eight repetitions), you ll need two or more days of rest before you perform the exercise again. For this reason, you might only work your lower body once or twice a week. If your goal is endurance and strength, stick with 1 to 3 sets of 12 to 16 repetitions and at least one day of rest before you perform the exercises again. What Exercises Should You Do? • 9. Executive Order Dbq Essay During World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union created an alliance to prevent Nazi Germany from spreading their fascist and radical ideals, but after the war, it quickly became apparent that both countries had intentions to exploit their previously stable relationship. Shortly after World War II, the Soviet Union made it their primary goal to expand their communist policies across Europe (and eventually the world). Their communist policies heavily contradicted the reason why the United States joined World War II, contrasted American ideals, and placed American democracy in jeopardy. Although relations seemed healthy shortly after the war, the relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union dwindled to war due to the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The United States involved itself in World War II to preserve democracy, but when Joseph Stalin made it his top priority to spread communism across Europe, the United States goal was endangered. As a result, in 1947, President Harry Truman created Executive Order 9835, which called for a loyalty investigation of every person entering the civilian employment of any department or agency of the executive branch of the Federal Government (Document 1). Truman s Executive Order exhibits a clear distrust of the protection of American ideals, as Truman would have never instituted this policy if he were not paranoid of the communistic plague. Truman s paranoia was not only displayed by Executive Order 9835, but also emulated by the American people. Truman s Doctrine spurred fear across the American public, most prominently showed in the trial of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. The Rosenberg s were unfairly tried and biasedly considered communists by the American government, ultimately resulting in execution. As seen by Elliot Erwitt s photographs, the American public was enraged and feared communist ideals (Document ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It deteriorates the navicular bone as well as the surrounding tissues. Navicular generally occurs on the front feet and happens when horses are between the age of eight and twelve. Navicular can lead to significant and even disabling lameness ( Navicular Problems: Symptoms and Treatment). The navicular bone is a small bone in a horse s hoof that sits in between the coffin bone and the pastern. The bone is shaped like a canoe. This led to the name navicular bone. The prefix nvicu means small boat in Latin. The bone is also called the distal sesamoid bone ( Navicular Problems: Symptoms and Treatment). Associated with the navicular bone are several structures of soft tissue. The collateral sesamoidean ligament is located on the upper side of the bone. This ligament attaches to the distal ... If a horse has navicular syndrome, corrective shoeing is an option. There are many types of shoes used when treating a horse with navicular. Some of these shoes are a wedge shoe, heart bar shoes, egg bar shoes, and steel shoes with a pad insert. Another form of treatment is anti inflammatory drugs such as phenylbutazone. Most horsemen call it Bute for short. This drug can come in the form of oral paste or mix in powder. There is also coffin injections which help give the horse more cushion between the navicular bone and the coffin bone. A neurectomy, or denerving, is the process in which the nerves are surgically removed from the hoof so the horse has no more feeling to the foot. • 14. Metro Man As A Villain In The Metro Man Although Metro Man is portrayed as one who aims to serve Metro City and its residents, he acts as the indirect root of villainy in the city. While Megamind is portrayed as the villain early in the film, Metro Man is the real villain in Megamind (McGrath, 2010) as he acts in an extremely selfish manner throughout the film, as displayed in particular by his actions towards Megamind, and in this creates and supports continued actions of evil intent towards the people of Metro City. Metro Man involves himself in the creation of villainy through his ostracization of Megamind, encouraging him to become a villain, and his abandonment of Metro City in its time of need for purely selfish reasons. From the beginning of both of their lives on Earth, Metro Man acts to separate Megamind from the rest of acceptable society. He does this by initially dropping him in prison, and then later treating him as an outcast in school. Pushing Megamind from the rest of the population serves to provide him with the impetus to engage in chaotic and evil actions. Joseph Campbell described what the hero s journey consists of in saying, A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder... comes back from the mysterious adventure with power to bestow boons (as cited in Alsford, 2006, p. 24). Metro Man does not move through this journey, he never reaches a crisis, and he never goes on a mysterious adventure, however Megamind does go through this. In contrast to Metro Man, Megamind is forced out of society at the hands of Metro Man for years, but eventually comes back as a hero as the result of a traumatic event. Megamind is the obvious hero of the movie, and when compared to Metro Man who s clearly not the hero initially brought up to be. In the interim period, Megamind tries to do evil across the city, though this is only because he feels like an outcast due to how Metro Man treats him in school. Megamind is forced to confront his point of crisis for years as he is thrust from the world because of his clumsiness, forcing him to inflict pain and suffering on others. The weight of the brain increases rapidly during the first four years of life and reaches the maximum weight around twentieth years (Gallucci et al., 2005). According to the general relativity theory, a sufficiently compact mass has the capacity to deform spacetime thereby forming what is commonly known as a black hole, a point around which the gravitational force is too strong. Imagine a giant building, a skyscraper for example, being compacted and compressed to the size of a Rubik s cube. This happens to the massive dying star at the end of its life. For nearly 200 years now, theorists have postulated the existence of black holes and now there is strong evidence to support that most, if not all galaxies have black holes that are essentially millions or even billions of times heavier than the sun (Volonteri, 2010). Coined in 1967 by the American Physicist John Arichbald Wheeler, the term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Precisely, an object falling into a black hole appears to slow down as it draws nearer to the event horizon but never really reaches it, due to the gravitational time dilation effect (Nrumiano, n.d). Similarly, an outside observer will experience all processes on an object nearing the event horizon as slowed down, and the emitted light will appear dimmer and redder due to the gravitational red shift effect; as soon as the falling object reaches the event horizon, it becomes so dim that it can never be seen. Black holes often form at the ends of the lives of massive stars as these stars often collapse at the end of their life cycle, when all the sources of nuclear fusion in a star are exhausted (Kaaret Ford, 1997). After forming, black holes have the capacity of increasing in size by swallowing up mass from their environments such as nearby stars and fusing with other black holes thereby creating super massive black holes whose mass exceeds several million solar masses (Alexander, Smail, Bauer, Chapman, et al., 2005). My Reflection Of Skype Skype Reflection I will start by saying that our conversations with everyone over Skype has been my favorite thing I have had the pleasure to do since I have been in college. It was different, informative, intriguing, and easily the most interesting exchange I have ever had. I not only appreciate having been given the opportunity to be a part of this conversation, but feel fortunate to have taken part in learning about others and their way of life. After speaking with Chris Saunders and Panos and Stefania, I re read Hofstede s dimensions and felt I learned more and understood it better after speaking with them. I feel that I can read something repeatedly, but having a good example and seeing it first hand is the best learning experience I can have. To have a good take away from the book with an even better example was the best way to learn this subject. When speaking to Chris Saunders from Wales and England, I first noticed that he seemed as nervous as we did. He was able to answer our questions with great content and was really funny. I felt that he had a great amount of individuality and held true to his own beliefs. I also feel that Chris showed that he fits into the masculinity dimension as he is successful as a writer and driven as a teacher. Since he has moved around so much, he shows that he personally has a low uncertainty avoidance, as he can take risks and is less resistant to change. An example of this is he was able to move to China, not knowing much about the culture or the language and take the changes as they came at him. When it came to talking to Chris, I think what surprised me the most was that there is a gap between 16 and 18 from what we would call high school to college. In the United States kids wouldn t know what to do with themselves and I can t imagine what kind of trouble they would get into. It also surprised me that he has lived in so many places. He has had the opportunity to learn so about so many cultures and meet so many people and that is incredible. My impressions of Chris were that he is very intelligent and funny. Despite the insistence on the difference between ice storms permanent damage to birches and a boy s temporary effects, the boy subdues and conquers the trees. His swinging is practice for maintaining life s difficult and precarious balances. The third part of the poem begins with a more personal and philosophical tone. The speaker claims to have been such a youthful swinger of birches, an activity he can go back to only by dreaming. It is not transmittable to humans, dogs, or any other animals. FeLV is actually the leading cause of death in cats, killing 85% of those infected within 3 years of diagnosis. With that being said, it s very important for cat owners to regularly take their cats to the veterinarian for check ups, as well as keeping them on a proper and healthy diet, which in turn will help prevent them from being exposed to FeLV, and many other viruses. Feline Leukemia is extremely common; it s spread through saliva, blood, nasal secretions and at times urine and feces. Once infected within 2 4 weeks an acute stage of the infection begins. It weakens the immune system, allowing all other viruses and diseases to be transmitted much easier including, kidney disease, lymph sarcoma, and even anemia. • 36. My Life As A Better Life A lot of people would always look back at their childhood and say, Wow! Those were good times. To me, it wasn t. I was easy to get picked on as I was chubby and I am unable to speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently. In my elementary school, I began to get a lot of hatred from my classmates as they would speak behind my back. I began to hate humanity and began to develop depression over the years. As I was always being picked on, I was unable to create any friends until I moved to Malaysia. When I moved to Malaysia, I had a mindset of: There is no point of making any friends. This all changed once I met Chan Young Jeon, or as known as CY. Despite my traumatizing childhood, CY helped me experience a better life with his compassion, diligence, and creativity. Having the ability to analyze other people just by looking at them is something unique, most of us cant do it but CY can. CY has this ability and it has become second nature for him. When I moved to Malaysia, he could tell that I was timid. When he sat next to me, he began to ask questions about my age, the places I ve been and my impression of Malaysia. At first, I did not know what to do because usually, no one would go up to me. When he struck a conversation, I began to mumble and he could tell I was scared. As he realized this, he took me around the school and I asked him questions such as How is the community here? Are they friendly? When I asked him these questions, he immediately knew I got bullied frequently. He began to introduce me to some of his friends and taught me how to socialize. Out of curiosity, I asked him Why are you helping me? He replied back I know you have been through a rough patch and you seem like you need a friend to guide you. I began to understand why he was compassionate towards other people. He did this to make sure that they are not alone in this and lending a helping hand allows other people to not feel abandoned. • 37. The Benefits Of Education In This Is Water By David Foster... Many high school students have grown jaded with the modern education system, sitting for hours in a classroom almost every day having seemingly useless information crammed into their brains. At some point, the curiosity died and left behind the average student of today. Most people will agree that a change must occur within the way the youth receives an education; however, fewer people have touched on the concept that the students must change their mindsets as well. They must all look beyond the surface level education that teachers tend to focus on and understand what more they can gain. Throughout David Foster Wallace s speech This is Water, Wallace primarily employs didactic little parable ish stories along with hyperbolic examples to enforce the idea that the true benefits of education come from learning simple awareness rather than knowledge. Almost immediately, Wallace inserts the opening to the story that gives his speech a title, speaking about two young fish that eventually come across an an older fish who asks them the oddly perplexing question of how s the water? . He then goes on to explain that somehow, the fish do not understand the obvious fact that they live in the water, it surrounds them. This story serves as an introduction to the point Wallace hopes to give his audience, that a liberal arts education is not so much about filling you up with knowledge as it is about quote teaching you how to think. The speaker then prompts his audience to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As observed in Fig. 8. The initial flux of PIM shows a gradual decrease with increasing of cycle s reuse, which may be caused by the loss of carrier from membrane [37]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Conclusion In this study, a polymer inclusion membrane was prepared and succevally applied for the removal of citric acid from synthetic wastewater. The mixture of CTA and CA was found to be the optimum base polymer for quantitative transport of citric acid. Moreover, the nature of carrier especially alkyl chain length, stirring rate, and pH of feed phase are also important factors affecting the increased rate of citric acid transport. Hence, from results obtained it can be seen that the investigated calix[4]resorcinarene are effective extractants for citric acid and that their extraction abilities depend on the alkyl chain length of the substituent in the macrocycle. Choosing the appropriate length of alkyl chain, very selective system can be designed. The excellent efficiency for the citric acid transport by the proposed PIM system reveals its potential application for the selective removal, concentration and purification of citric acid from different media.
