The rise of minimalist cooking is changing the art of food photography. The following is a look at
some of the techniques adopted by photographers to capture the simplicity and the spirit of this
modern cuisine. Whether it is because of the recession or a genuine desire to downsize and simplify,
minimalist cooking has become extremely popular. Everything from expensive and hard to acquire
ingredients to rarely used, specialized utensils and equipment have been pared back to the bare
minimum. Less is definitely more. Many photographers have noticed this change, either consciously
or intuitively and are evolving and adapting their techniques to suit. The old sumptuous saturated
glistening overfilled image just doesn t seem to be a good match for this new approach to cooking and
food in general.
The photographers who get this and have a feel for the subject have started to utilize a few specific
techniques which serve to emphasize the subject matter but in a much more understated way and this
article will lay out

Persuasive Essay On Same Sex Adoption
One day I was looking out my window, watching my boys play. I started thinking about how they are
the future of the world. They are the engineers, presidents, congressman, businessman, and lawyers of
tomorrow. Later that day, I saw a news article discussing the issue of same sex adoption. As I watched
I thought to myself, where did we forget that it was about the kids? So, out of curiosity, I began to
look up some statistics about kids that have no homes, the ones that are waiting for good families. I
started wondering if it is about the kids, then why, do we care about same sex adoptions at all. There
are two sides to the argument of same sex adoption, and to really get a feel for the issue you must
understand both sides. However, the two sides of the discussion are not entirely complicated although
the reasons are. One side supports same sex adoption and the other side opposes same sex adoption.
Both sides agree that what they want is what s best for the kids. ... Show more content on

We need to look at the facts regarding kids in foster care, and those facts are the statistics for foster
care. These statistics include the number of children currently coming into foster care, compared to the
number that exit foster care, and what the legalization of same sex adoption would do to those
numbers. Since what everyone wants is what s best for the children, you have to look at the studies of
how, if at all, same sex adoption affects children. The last thing we need to address would be the
public opinions of same sex adoption. This includes religious and moral beliefs and the political ideas,
as this is where the policies will be addressed and decisions made to change the laws around same sex

Physics Pre-Lab Questions
Pre Lab Questions: In this activity, the marbles represent the narrow beam of alpha particles used to
determine the structure of atoms, the unknown object represents the atoms that Rutherford studied, the
cardboard represents the gold foil that was made up of gold atoms and the paper represents the
approximate path that the alpha particles bounced off of or went through the gold foil at that
Rutherford observed. Based on where the marble rolls in one end and out the other, you can infer
where the target is underneath the cardboard and where the target has a flat edge, or doesn t have any
edges that stick out. Post Lab Questions: We made the correct prediction that the shape of our target

This is because if the marble hits the shape, the speed at which it bounces off of it will be even slower
than the speed at which it was rolled and its path might be changed before it rolls out of the black
box.A slower marble also may make a wider angle if it bounces off of the shape. If the speed of the
marble rolls were faster, it may also be hard to make an accurate prediction, because if the marble is
moving too fast, the way in which the marble bounces off of the shape would be different. A faster
marble may make a smaller angle as it bounces off of the shape. If the size of the marble was bigger,
the shape would appear to be smaller and if the size of the marbles were smaller, the shape would
appear to be bigger. This is because as the size of the marbles changes, so does the angles that they
make, when they bounce off of the shape. This angle size depends on the speed and size of the
marbles and when one of those variables are changed, it can make it difficult to determine the position
and shape of the

The Indian Removal Act Of 1830
The Indian Removal Act of 1830 was a law passed by President Andrew Jackson that provided the
funds for the removal of the Indian tribes found in South. These tribes were the Cherokee, Chickasaw,
Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole. Slave states, following the lead of Missouri who in the 1820s forced
its Indian population to leave, saw the opportunity to expand their industry in the fielding of cotton by
converting Indian soil into slave soil. That along with the finding of gold and simply the desire for
land in the Southeast was enough reason for them to begin rooting for the expulsion of the tribes. They
believed that because the tribes were uncivilized they have no right to the land and were not using it
properly.
Despite the fact that former president Thomas Jefferson believed that civilized tribes could be
integrated into the United States population, this law was still widely accepted among southern states.
It was also completely ignored that the tribes were already acting in a way that would be considered
civilized. The Cherokee had its own government, laws, and a constitution much like the United States.
In response to the law, the Cherokee went to Congress for help to protect their rights, which the
treaties they had with the federal government made certain. There was a case Cherokee Nation v.
Georgia in 1831, but the Chief Justice Marshall made the false claim that Indians were nomads and
had no need for their land. He also said that the Indians were like wards

Elizabethan Era Clothing
Fashion is a big part of many people s lives, but it is constantly changing and growing. In the
Elizabethan time fashion was very different than it is today. For example trends and materials used
have changed. The colors people wore told a lot about who they were, unlike today. Some parts of
fashion have stayed pretty constant throughout the years. For example today and then there are known
designers around the world. Also fashion still impacts lives greatly. So when looking at fashion
throughout the years it is evident that materials, trends, color usage, designers, and the impact on
society has greatly changed and is still changing. Everyone has a favorite color, everyone also knows
what colors look better on them compared to others. Many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Queen Elizabeth was one of the biggest impacts on fashion in that time. She was mostly the one who
set the trends. She also determined the laws about fashion. Many times people would just copy what

greatly influenced those close to her, her ladies in waiting wore her old dresses; other women strove to
imitate the style of the Queen and her ladies (Leed). In the Elizabeth Era the designs and trends came

Memphis International Airport ( Mem )
The following paper explores how Memphis International Airport (MEM), the world s second busiest
cargo shipping airport, handles its day to day operations involving passenger airlines in conjunction
with
FedEx commercial shipping. By comparing DOT and FAA reports, along with the airlines and FedEx
s
shipping statistics, an airport capacity and congestion problem is disproved. Since Delta closed down
their MEM hub, passenger air travel has dramatically decreased while cargo shipping has continued to
steadily climb. Other airlines have started offering services in and out of MEM but were only able to
increase passenger travel by 1%, in 2014. The different operating schedules of passenger and cargo
shipping, allow for each of them to conduct their flights without hindering the operations of the other.

The Power Of Mass Media In Gillian Flynn s Gone Girl
In modern society, mass media is an unavoidable influence on our daily lives. Humans are reliant on
mass communication and information for everything: work, education, entertainment, and much more.
In her novel Gone Girl, author Gillian Flynn uses the thrilling story of Amy Dunne and her husband,
Nick Dunne, who is accused of her murder to illustrate how much power mass media has over the
general public s judgement and opinions, despite their increasingly common dishonesty. In Gone Girl,
the media runs with stories that have little substance for the sole purpose of grabbing public attention,
they use their power to alter public perception multiple times and push their own agenda, and they
create public personalities for people that do not match who they truly are. Contemporary media
stations are willing to run with any story as long as it will get them views and therefore money, even if
the story has little to no substance. This is seen multiple times in the novel Gone Girl. At an volunteer
search event for his missing wife, Nick Dunne is approached by Shawna Kelly. Shawna, a middle
aged woman, shows up to the search event but clearly is only there to attempt to flirt with Nick.
Shawna goes through a few minutes of small talk, which Nick is visibly not interested in, before
forcing him to take a selfie with her. Nick describes her feelings towards Shawna: I wanted to smack
her, right then, the obliviousness, the girliness of her: trying to get an ego stroke from the

William Shakespeare Authorship Essay
Shakespeare was a famous poet and playwright who wrote over thirty plays that are still wildly
popular today. Although it is widely accepted that William Shakespeare wrote his own material, there
are many people who believe that he was not the true author of the works attributed to him. Arguments
against Shakespeare s authorship range from people believing that it was all a political cover up, and
that there isn t enough factual evidence to come to the conclusion that Shakespeare truly did write his
own work, to the conclusion that there are faults in the Oxfordian Theory of Shakespeare Authorship.
Ultimately, the most valid evidence supports that Shakespeare is in fact the author of the most famous
plays and sonnets of all time.
Although there is not an exact day for William Shakespeare s birth, his birthday can roughly be placed
around April in 1564.He grew up in Stratford upon Avon, located near London, and he was the oldest
of his siblings. Shakespeare had a Latin education as a kid, because as the son of a leading Stratford
citizen, he almost certainly attended Stratford s grammar school. Like all such schools, its curriculum
consisted of an intense emphasis on the Latin classics (Folger Shakespeare Library, 2017). Following
his Latin School background, it is not known how he got his start in theatre, but in 1592 the first
mention of Shakespeare was released, and he was known as an established London actor and
playwright, mocked by a contemporary as a Shake scene

Obergefell V. Hodges Case Study
Introduction:
The United States is considered a great nation by some. It is a nation filled with monumental success,
wealth, prosperity, opportunity, and in general, one of the most impressive nations in the world. But,
the United States is also filled with hate, discrimination, disparity, and a history riddled with grotesque
treatment of those of a varying nature known today as minorities. A minority, is a culturally, ethnically,
or racially distinct group that coexists with but is subordinate to a more dominant group. In the United
States, there are a wide array of minorities like African American, LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and
Transgender), and Women of any race or ethnicity. Although, this a small few of the minority
members in the United States, these groups have faced very large troubles from the majority, which is
classified as upper class, white males. African Americans were made slaves, women couldn t vote,
LGBT couldn t marry one another in the early years of this nation. With the changing times more and
more advances in the equal treatment of minorities come to pass. Of all the groups mentioned, the one
that has made a more recent stride is the LGTB community, which recently has recently obtained the
right to marry in every state thanks to the Obergefell v. Hodges case.
Historical Timeline:
The decision in the Obergefell v. Hodges case is a monumental victory considering the poor treatment
of the members of this minority. Historically, the LGTB community has

Essay On Death Of Romeo And Juliet
The tragic play Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare during the late 1500 s. The play
was originally born in England and finally published in 1597. The tragic play takes place in the
beautiful Italian cities of Verona and Mantua. Two high born families, the Capulets and Montagues,
and entangled in a spiteful feud. This resentful feud will result in the tragic death of two young lovers
Romeo and Juliet. Romeo who is from the Montague family and Juliet who is from the Capulet family
will fall in love with each other, and keep their love a secret. The aggrieved family feud will be the
one to blame for the early death of Romeo and Juliet. The hatred the two families had for one another
is what caused the unfortunate death of Romeo and Juliet. To hate and to hold onto anger is like
drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer. The hate the two families had for each other
was toxic. Hatred is something that can destroy so much, and the hatred between the rivaling families
is what executed Romeo and Juliet. Forcing Romeo and Juliet to keep their love in the dark, pushed
the young lovers over the edge. That hatred was portrayed when Tybalt, a Capulet, said What. Drawn
and talk of peace? I hate the word as i hate hell. All Montagues. And thee . This statement allows the
readers to fully understand that there is no room for peace ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Friar Lawrence was a man of god who accepted the love between Romeo and Juliet. Although he

their own deaths because they were forced into a dark corner by their families. If their families had

The following summaries of my research accomplishments, I believe, should be able to support my
enthusiastic approach to bring a substantial change in the research progress in the department of
physics and materials science.
I for the first time created a strong covalent amide bond between TiO2 mesoporous films and N719 by
chemically modifying TiO2 with 3 aminopropyltrimethoxysilane. The dye sensitized solar cells thus
prepared were stable and more resistant to UV light, thermal stress, acid, and water when compared to
traditional photoanodes. There was a dramatic preservation of the SCN ligand of N719 on the TiO2
surface for up to 6 months, which is not possible in the case of other modified photoanodes with dye
attached non covalently through electrostatic or hydrogen bonding interactions. (Langmuir, 2013, 29,
13582 13594). I extensively studied the synthesis of nanomaterials, quantum dots such as ZnS, CdS,
electrodeposition of semiconductor oxide materials, preparation methods for different shapes
(nanowires, nanotubes, and tree like structures) and sizes (3 300 nm) of nanomaterials to accomplish
this research work. I did research on molecular linkers to link quantum dots. In addition, I explored
the charge injection dynamics from the excited dye (N719) to TiO2 semiconductor nanoparticles after
chemical modification of the TiO2 nanoparticles with silane linkers using the ultrafast transient
absorption

Segregation In Chicago Research Paper
The People United Will Never be Defeated
When driving through any state in America, it is hard not to notice the segregation that often
establishes itself throughout the neighborhoods; there exists a clear distinction what streets are
predominantly populated by White, Black, Hispanic, Arab, or other racial groups. According to recent
analysis of the U.S. Census Data, Chicago is the most diverse city, as well as the most segregated

bandwagon of so many cities across the United States where it has become an accepted social
circumstance that every ethnic, racial, political, or religious group in a community must stand alone to

The New Imperialism In The Late 19th Century
The New Imperialism
Imperialism is the extension of sovereignty and control by a nation or society over another. The
control that the imperialist can use can be political or economic. The control that the imperialist can
use can also either be direct or indirect. The second expansion of the European powers beyond the
continents borders can be best represented by the new imperialism of the late 19th century. The first
expansion occurred after Columbus voyages to the Americas. This happened around the time period of
1500 to 1800, in which the western hemisphere was colonized by many European people from all
different places. Some places that they came from were Spain, Portugal, Britain, France, the
Netherlands, the Germanys, and Sweden. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that parts of Africa and Asia that were occupied were overly populated was not even the most
important factor. The most important factor why there was a shockingly less amount of European
colonization was an economic one. All European associations had made an economic transformation.
The Europeans switched to industrial/ service economies from agrarian/ commercial economies. The
main difference between the New Imperialism and the old colonialism was explained by the
industrialization impact of the economy. The old colonization was an effect of the commercial
revolution. It had expanded the economies of Europe, sending them to seek more trade in many
products. Colonies were a source of raw materials. Other things expanded like financial markets, but
the main focus was on products from the land. Agriculture was the main driving force of the economy
even if commerce, carrying these products/ materials produced a lot of money. The New Imperialism
wasn t really focused on agricultural things because that was a declining portion of the economy. Even
though there was still a need for raw materials, the most important factor was markets. The many
countries that participated in the New Imperialism reflects markets for the industrial goods that were
streaming out of the factories in industrialized western countries. The mature and maturing industrial
nations were the most successful; Britain, France, Italy, Russia, and the United States. The Japanese
had taken up western technology and political organization after being awakened to the reality of
western superiority by Admiral Perry s

After that we will mine others swarms. The necessary steps used for mining moving objects swarms
are pointed below where we consider minimum number of objects $min_{object}$ = 2.
At first, our proposed method generates 1 length tiemstamp swarm from the given database shown in
the figure ref{example1}(b) that is called short time spatiotemporal swarms. It has been shown that
the objects in location $L_3$ at timestamps $T_1$ and location $L_4$ at timestemps $T_1, T_3,
T_5$ are removed because only one object exists in the locations which is less than the minimum
number of objects $min_{object}$. In the second step, proposed algorithm begets 2 length timestamps
candidate based on previous 1 length timestamp swarms. Figure ref{example1}(c) interprets the
objects locations based on time where objects are found by the common objects at particular times of
the generated timesets. Suppose at timeset $[T_1, T_2]$ in location $L_1$ begets objects set $left
{o_1, o_2, o_3right}$ from the common objects sets between $left{o_1, o_2, o_3, o_4right}$ and
$left{o_1, o_2, o_3right}$ at time $T_1$ an $T_2$ respectively. In this way, all the cells of are
procreated. If their is no common object, then the cell value is empty. Then, we apply four efficient
pruning techniques: (i) candidate pruning that prune those candidates which maintain the Apriori
pruning principle that is any itemset which is infrequent, its superset should not be

Nineteenth-Century Oil Industry
In the nineteenth century, there was an emergence and massive upbringing of new developments, a
rise of business enterprise, and future successful entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs such as John D.
Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J. Pierpont Morgan all became three of the major leading icons for
business and economic growth. They helped establish global markets and vast resources that became
very dominant during that time period. These resources included oil, steel, and the increase of
investment firms that changed the economy, and helped promote agricultural and industrial power
after the Civil War. The Standard Oil Company was one of the first leading developments that
dominated the oil industry during the 1800s. John D. Rockefeller had organized

La Fresne Social Status
This paper will focus on how nobility affects social status, opportunities and how it provides a
luxurious life to nobles. From La Fresne, I will study the fact that La Fresne s luxurious possessions
(blanket and fine ring), set her fate. Because of it she received an education and a decent living, and
eventually met her parents. If she didn t show signs of nobility her life would have turned out very
differently, she could have been abandoned or worse. In Marie de France s Le Fresne , a mother who
is frightened of being misjudged seeks to abandon one of her twin daughters, due to the fact that
having twins hinted at the idea of infidelity. The mother contemplates outrageous solutions to this
problem, such as murder, but after sound advice from her beloved maid, she decides against it, and
together formulate a plan to get rid of one of her daughters. They decide to abandon the child in a
church so that she could be adopted and raised by someone else. Before giving up her child, the
mother wraps her baby in a lavish brocade that her husband had brought back from the Crusades and
tied to it a fine ring. The maid leaves the child on an ash tree around the church, where she was found
and automatically assumed to be nobility. As stated in To Follow in Their Footsteps by Nicholas Paul,
when the First Crusades ended, happy crusaders returned to Europe bringing with them stories,
memorabilia, sacred relics, fine jewelry and weapons. The Crusaders brought with them lavish

The Gluten Free Diet Essay
As a celiacs daughter I quickly adapted the gluten free life style out of convenience for my mother. I
would even find myself going to restaurants asking for the gluten free menu and strictly sticking to the
diet in and out of my household. I was aware that I was lacking some nutrients by not eating gluten
but to make up for it I took vitamin D pills and everyday women health vitamins but little did I know
that was not enough to keep me healthy. I was not aware of the risks I was putting myself at by
eliminating a whole category of food. I was lacking my body of calcium, fibre and iron as well as
other nutrients.
A year into my gluten free lifestyle I found myself always feeling sick, tired and cold. I had no
motivation to do anything anymore. After a month of finding myself getting worse and worse and
many trips to the doctor they finally made the diagnosis: I was lacking iron in my blood stream. Due
to my gluten free diet I was eliminating meats as they tend to be marinated in sauces that contain
gluten and whole wheats, two products that are high in iron. I was lacking my body of very important
nutrients when I was not needing too. I quickly cut my gluten free diet and starting on my healthy life
style.
While a gluten free diet can be life changing to a celiac patient it can be damaging to someone like me
who is not celiac nor gluten intolerant. Yet the gluten free diet seems to the be new black in North
American house holds. As reported in Gluten Free Diet Fad

Agriculture Interview
What do you think about when someone says Agriculture ? I think about all the hard working men and
women who have jobs associated with agriculture. For example, veterinarians, agronomists, wildlife
inspectors, and even my ag teacher. Today, I have interviewed my cousin, Sarah Marx, to help build
interest for myself as well as others in agriculture. Sarah grew up in Beemer, Nebraska. So, agriculture
has been an interest of her s her entire life. Sarah was apart of the Beemer Dreemers 4 H club for 12
years where she showed rabbits and helped with the other livestock shows. Now, Sarah lives on a farm
in Wisner, Nebraska where she has a horse training camp. She is also one of the Beemer Dreemers
club leaders.
Sarah has a job in accounting and quality control at Central Plains Milling in Howells, Nebraska.

agriculture atmosphere. I ve been in 4 H for 9 years now and this is my first year of participating in
FFA. As a freshman in high school, I love looking at all of my options for my future. Agriculture has
been one of my career options since 7th grade. As I learn more and more about agriculture and how it
plays a very important part in the world, my interest grows stronger and stronger.
To prepare for this career, I would have to have lots of extra classes, be certified with all Microsoft
programs, be a certified office tech, have lots of experience, and communication skills. I am currently
certified in Microsoft Office PowerPoint and working on being certified in Excel and Word. Without

Aquinas s Argument On The Universe
order. The divine order and harmony of the universe further support Aquinas s argument. The
intelligent designer is the final cause of all things. Psalm 19:3 4 makes a valid point as well. It states,
There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the
earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun. [18] These
two verses also discredits Hume s argument by saying the universe has no creative attributes of an

High Failure Rate In Healthcare
There are an abundance of issues that contribute to the relatively high failure rate of IT projects in
healthcare. I believe the primary reason for this high failure rate is the complexity of healthcare
including complex and fluid processes and a varied workforce ranging from physician and nurse to lab
technician and aide (Boonstra, Versluis, Vos, 2014). Another significant reason for this failure rate is
the need for a paradigm shift to accept HIT in the healthcare setting and to be open to process
changes/improvements (Shea Belden, 2016; Chiocchio, Rabbat, Lebel, 2015). As a nurse, I can attest
that the overwhelming attitude toward HIT and changes/improvements is poor; nurses appear to like
the status quo. Another issue that significantly contributes to HIT failures is the fact that healthcare is
extremely legislated. All HIT projects need to meet security, confidentiality, and regulatory constraints
(Boonstra et al., 2014). A project may appear relatively successful, for instance, an electronic medical
record is being used to pass medications, and on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Project management is successful in other industries; therefore, it is a reasonable assumption that it

challenges. I already discussed that the complexities of healthcare are a primary reason for HIT
failures, and since most healthcare professionals are not well versed in project management, they most
likely will not be the project manager. Therefore, someone without healthcare experience may be

Racial And Ethnic Diversity
How do you envision the racial and ethnic diversity of the United States thirty years from now?
Explain thoroughly. In today society, racial and ethnic diversity is an everyday thing in the United
States. Racial diversity can be seen in workplace, schools, and etc. When it comes to the future of
America people say immigrants are it. The percentage of immigrants that has entered the United States
has continued to rise everyday now. Immigrants has begun to premaster English as their second
language. Racial Diversity has been a big issue when it comes to most like; hiring and promoting
people of color. Some individuals have had to deal with not being hired because of their race or due to

People shouldn t be determined by the way they look. Not being white doesn t mean you can t make
six figures and are able to support your family. Social media was created for the enjoyment of another
or better form of communication. Minority majority on shows how mixed the world is and how so
many people feel that race doesn t portray who you are.
This trend only offends those who minorities. It only reduces social problems because it allows people
to disrespect others by basically calling them out of their names. To make things better everyone has
to be on the same page as far as communication goes. Categorizing one another as the same regardless
of the color of our skin will reduce more than Minority Majority by creating a movement towards
making a difference in the world. If the current trend remains the way it is whites will become less
than 50 percent of the population by 2042(Tom Jacobs). Coming up with more suggests or ideas on
will it would be tolerant in the near future, the increasing diversity of the nation may actually yield
more intergroup hostility (Tom Jacobs). In my opinion there may be issues with some part of the
society when it comes to the time when we are merge as one. People just have to be more
understanding an aware of other people are now starting families and receiving jobs in the united
states so it s best to start accepting and treating everyone as the same.

Analysis of the Poem War Photographer
War Photographer by Carol Ann Duffy In his darkroom he is finally alone with spools of suffering set

It is seen that the photographer s feelings are brought out in two contrasting situations, at home and
while at warfront. The poet continues to describe the sufferings of the photographer when his mental
state is compared as he is travelling between the two contrasting worlds one the warfront which is full
of destruction and chaos and the other is Rural England, probably countryside that is peaceful and
serene. He compares the pain of war to simple pain of changing weather back at home in England.
There being nothing worse then the harsh weather that the children have to face as against the mines
that explode on the running feet of the children affected by war. This only tells us that the
photographer longs peace and he is deeply moved by the affected children. His prolonged thoughts are
presented with great effect by the use of enjambment in this line and this adds to the effect of
continuity of thoughts. From a realistic tone the poet moves on to a mysterious tone when she opens
this third stanza with something is happening. Probably something unforgettable, frustrating and
unbearable is happening. This is unfolded in the subsequent line, half formed ghost, it s the body of a
dead soldier which seems to be haunting the photographer who is dead. His conscience is pricking him
for he had to seek the dead soldier wife s s permission

What Is The Lethal Weapon Rhetorical Techniques
Lethal Weapon is a film made by Richard Donner in 1987. It tells a story of two policemen who
become partners. Roger Murtaugh is a veteran, he has family and he is getting older. Martin Riggs is
suicidal officer who lives in a trailer with his dog. To solve the case they need to learn how to work
with one another.
Lethal Weapon is an action movie. As in almost every type of the movie viewers can follow narration
development but they become distracted by some action scenes (like blowing something up, chasing
the car etc.) and narration is suspended for a while. We can notice the same practice for example in
musicals. Action is interrupted there by singing and dancing. But what is also really characteristic for
Lethal Weapon and what we have not seen in previous movies that we watched during course are

Martin and Mr. Joshua are getting into the fist fight. This scene is absurd though it shows development
of heroes and a change that occurred in them. Murtaugh and Riggs could kill or catch villain but
instead of that Roger is letting Martin to show his power and get into the fist fight. This scene lasts for
a five minutes. After analysis we can notice many homoerotic elements. At the beginning they are
using only their fists but they become shirtless really quickly and at one point they use phallic
weapons to fight. Water is blowing up in the air and covering everyone and everything. That brings
sexual connotations as well. It is very important to take into consideration their moves and their acts.
After connecting all the elements viewers can notice that this scene is presented in such a way to be
similar to sexual foreplay and re figuration of a sexual act between men. But this scene threatens
patriarchal and heterosexual society. That is why threat of homosexual romance needs to be removed
by killing the villain even though he was defeated by

American Technological Advancements
The United States has utilized innovations and technological advancements to solidify its position as a
global superpower. One of the greatest accomplishments the United States can claim is to have put a
man on the moon in 1969. In describing the impact of the moon landing, historian Arthur M.
Schlesinger Jr. notes, The one thing for which this century will be remembered 500 years from now
was: This was the century when we began the exploration of space (Launius, 2006). In the 47 years
since the moon landing, no other nation has been able to land on the moon marking this as a lasting
legacy to American perseverance in the exploration of space. The completion of the Panama Canal in
1914 also showcased American resolve and engineering superiority. Providing maritime access

Christianity And Judaism During The 19th Century
Around 55 C.E. Christianity and Judaism began to occupy Roman culture. During the transportation
of a Jewish prisoner named Paul of Tarsus to Rome, it can be seen that religion was just one of the
major concerns during this time. Founded in the eighth century B.C.E., Rome was originally a small
city state ruled by one king. Eventually, Rome established itself as the dominant power in the
Mediterranean basin by instituting an aristocratic republic government. Roman civilization changed
drastically politically, economically, and culturally during the last centuries of the classical era, (100
600 C.E.), although some factors remained the same.
The Roman forum was a political and civic center filled with temples and public buildings where
leading citizens tended to government business that was built at the heart of the city. Rome also
instituted a republican constitution that entrusted executive responsibilities to two consuls who exerted
civil and military power. The Senate ratified all major decisions and along with the consuls,
represented the interests of the patricians. This caused constant tension between the wealthy classes
and common people, the plebeians. Patricians continued to dominate Rome, although the plebeians
did receive some governmental rights. They had tribunes, which had the power to intervene in
political matters and veto measures they considered were unfair. The plebeians gained the right to hold
almost all state offices and became eligible to have one

Moral in Happy Endings by Margaret Atwood
Atwood uses Happy Endings in identifying and explaining the type of ending fictional stories should
have and why. Works of fiction should have a happy ending which Atwood terms appealing to our
ethical nature and therefore moral. Atwood provides a number of stories that implies different endings.
However, the ending in the first story is referred in all other stories as the befitting ending. Atwood
acknowledges the desires of works of fiction to bring out creativity by bring out intensity and passion,
but this is only possible in the introduction and the body of a fictional story. All fictional stories have
to end in the same way, a way that appeals to the human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the kind of ending that Atwood demands of fictional writing. A happy ending; ethical in nature
and a moral ending.
Contrary to what Atwood articulates, fictional writing has been viewed as a way of writing that grants
freedom to the writer. The writer can end the story with suspense, ending at just that point that a
character is phased with a huge obstacle or immense passion (Nodelman, 1). This is believed to set the
reader up into believing that overcoming such obstacles in real life brings about immense rewards and
therefore such kind of writing is always motivational to the reader. This is a point of view that Atwood
is quick to rubbish by pointing out that all other endings that are not happy endings in fiction are
delusionary. Don t be deluded by any other endings, they re all fake, either deliberately fake, with
malicious intent to deceive, or just motivated by excessive optimism if not by downright
sentimentality (Atwood, 3).
Arguments for the position held by Atwood with respect to the perfect ending to a work of fiction can
be drawn from the societal relationships such as marriages and romantic affairs. These relationships
are perceived as beautiful and comes with a form of fulfillment, thus should have a beautiful ending.
Life should be easy and relationships should be successful. The happy ending adopted by Atwood is
an illustration of how easy life should be and how successful relationships such as marriages should
turn out. She

Differences Between The Movie Ben-Hur
Ben hur (2016) is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and cinematography by Oliver Wood. It is a
remake of the 1959 version of Ben Hur, which was directed by William Wyler and cinematography by
Robert L. Surtees. This story follows Judah Ben Hur in his fight against revenge and forgiveness. Ben
Hur and his brother Messala both have to make choices that will affect their friendship and trust in one
another. Each of these movies are a rendition of the book Ben Hur, written by Lew Wallace. Although
they are based on the same story, there are many differences between the two movies. Some of the
differences are the addition of the character, Gestas, and the different style in which they were written.
The addition of the character Gestas in the 2016 movie is a major change in the story. In the 1959
version, the tile falls off the roof of Ben Hur s house and he and his family are accused of trying to kill
the new governor of Judea. This incident is rather unrealistic and does not provide Judah with an alibi.

2016 film is shown to be more dramatic and intriguing to the viewer. It does a better job at making the
viewers feel the emotion of what Judah and the other slaves were going through. Another obvious
change is the representation of Jesus. In the 1959 version, Jesus does not have a speaking part, some

plays a bigger role. We see that Judah connects with Jesus more in the newer film and that plays a big

How Did The Atomic Bomb Cause Mass Destruction
Nuclear Bombs
Atom bombs can stop a war before it even happens. Atom bombs can cause mass destruction in a
blink of an eye. The air blast of the atom bomb can knock down houses, trees, and throw cars. The
thermal radiation is released in a flash and instantly causes third degree burns. After all that, the
radiation penetrates through the body and causes severe damage. The United States needed a way to
stop the war going on between them and the Japanese.
They brought in a thirty nine year old man named Dr. Robert Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer was born on

Sea Otters Essay
Sea Otters that live in the kelp forest habitat, and Prairie dogs that live in the plains habitats are
considered keystones species due to the fact that without both of them the ecosystem would crumble
and not be able to survive without each animal.
Sea otters primary diet consists of animal like sea urchins, and sea urchins primary diet are kelp
forests. The sea otter is considered to be a keystone species because it feeds off of sea urchins, and
help preserve the kelp forests. If the sea otter were removed from this ecosystem, it would be
disastrous due to the fact that the sea urchin population would sky rocket because they have no
predators like the sea otter. The sea urchin would then proceed to eat a majority of the kelp forest,
which is a habitat for many animals living in this ecosystem. With the deforestation of the kelp forests,
the sea urchin wouldn t have anything to eat, and they would slowly die off as well. The sea ... Show

species directly is that they are pretty centered in the food chain, meaning that they are able to eat a lot

habitats for many other animals other than themselves. Prairie dogs also aerate and fertilize soil, and
improve water quality, which allows for healthier, and more grass to grow. They are considered a
keystone species due to the effects that they have on not only the other animals in the ecosystem, but
also the way they affect other plants. Without the prairie dog, the group of animals that eat them would
lose a large source of their diet, and the animals that get eaten by the prairie dog would start to

The Birthmark Literary Analysis
In The Birthmark , a short story by Nathanial Hawthorne, the use of the archetypal conflict Nature vs.
Science, the character of Damsel in Distress, and the symbol of the Incurable Wound show how easily
beauty is overlooked in the endeavor for perfection. The archetypal conflict of Nature vs. Science is
shown in Aylmer s intention to remove the birthmark, nature s constant reminder of human mortality,
from Georgiana s cheek. Aylmer believed that the birthmark might heighten Georgiana s beauty if it
wasn t her only visible imperfection, but on Georgiana s otherwise flawless complexion the birthmark
was nothing more than the fatal flaw of humanity...the ineludible gripe in which mortality clutches the

Georgiana had always lived with the birthmark, and was quite fond of its charm. Many people in the
town believe it was a fairy s handprint left to sway all hearts; to them the mark only magnified her
appeal. The mark s charm had rarely been questioned by anyone other than the jealous women of the
town, and its peculiar nature had once intrigued Aylmer and amplified his attraction to Georgiana. He
begged for her hand in marriage, but soon after they were wed, he queried whether Georgiana had
ever considered having the birthmark removed. She was hurt by the implication that the mark
depreciated her and grew upset with her husband. As time passed, Aylmer continued to stare at the
mark, unable to keep his eyes from wandering to it. This continued until Georgiana was no longer able
to ignore the way his eyes were always fixated on this sole imperfection, the crimson hand that kept
him up at night and plagued his dreams. She asked Aylmer to remove the mark, or take her life
because she no longer wanted to live if she had to live with the mark. She preferred death to the harsh
scrutiny from her husband. The symbolic meaning of the Incurable Wound is used to show the
psychological impact of Georgiana s insecurity about the birthmark because of Aylmer s lack of
acceptance of her natural beauty. Research has primarily focused on the consequences of exposure to

The following is a look at some of the techniques adopted by photographers to capture the simplicity and the spirit of this modern cuisine. Whether it is because of the recession or a genuine desire to downsize and simplify, minimalist cooking has become extremely popular. Everything from expensive and hard to acquire ingredients to rarely used, specialized utensils and equipment have been pared back to the bare minimum. Less is definitely more. Many photographers have noticed this change, either consciously or intuitively and are evolving and adapting their techniques to suit. The old sumptuous saturated glistening overfilled image just doesn t seem to be a good match for this new approach to cooking and food in general. The photographers who get this and have a feel for the subject have started to utilize a few specific techniques which serve to emphasize the subject matter but in a much more understated way and this article will lay out ... • 4. Persuasive Essay On Same Sex Adoption One day I was looking out my window, watching my boys play. I started thinking about how they are the future of the world. They are the engineers, presidents, congressman, businessman, and lawyers of tomorrow. Later that day, I saw a news article discussing the issue of same sex adoption. As I watched I thought to myself, where did we forget that it was about the kids? So, out of curiosity, I began to look up some statistics about kids that have no homes, the ones that are waiting for good families. I started wondering if it is about the kids, then why, do we care about same sex adoptions at all. There are two sides to the argument of same sex adoption, and to really get a feel for the issue you must understand both sides. However, the two sides of the discussion are not entirely complicated although the reasons are. One side supports same sex adoption and the other side opposes same sex adoption. Both sides agree that what they want is what s best for the kids. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We need to look at the facts regarding kids in foster care, and those facts are the statistics for foster care. These statistics include the number of children currently coming into foster care, compared to the number that exit foster care, and what the legalization of same sex adoption would do to those numbers. Since what everyone wants is what s best for the children, you have to look at the studies of how, if at all, same sex adoption affects children. The last thing we need to address would be the public opinions of same sex adoption. This includes religious and moral beliefs and the political ideas, as this is where the policies will be addressed and decisions made to change the laws around same sex ... This is because if the marble hits the shape, the speed at which it bounces off of it will be even slower than the speed at which it was rolled and its path might be changed before it rolls out of the black box.A slower marble also may make a wider angle if it bounces off of the shape. If the speed of the marble rolls were faster, it may also be hard to make an accurate prediction, because if the marble is moving too fast, the way in which the marble bounces off of the shape would be different. A faster marble may make a smaller angle as it bounces off of the shape. If the size of the marble was bigger, the shape would appear to be smaller and if the size of the marbles were smaller, the shape would appear to be bigger. This is because as the size of the marbles changes, so does the angles that they make, when they bounce off of the shape. This angle size depends on the speed and size of the marbles and when one of those variables are changed, it can make it difficult to determine the position and shape of the ... These tribes were the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole. Slave states, following the lead of Missouri who in the 1820s forced its Indian population to leave, saw the opportunity to expand their industry in the fielding of cotton by converting Indian soil into slave soil. That along with the finding of gold and simply the desire for land in the Southeast was enough reason for them to begin rooting for the expulsion of the tribes. They believed that because the tribes were uncivilized they have no right to the land and were not using it properly. Despite the fact that former president Thomas Jefferson believed that civilized tribes could be integrated into the United States population, this law was still widely accepted among southern states. It was also completely ignored that the tribes were already acting in a way that would be considered civilized. The Cherokee had its own government, laws, and a constitution much like the United States. In response to the law, the Cherokee went to Congress for help to protect their rights, which the treaties they had with the federal government made certain. There was a case Cherokee Nation v. Georgia in 1831, but the Chief Justice Marshall made the false claim that Indians were nomads and had no need for their land. He also said that the Indians were like wards ... Humans are reliant on mass communication and information for everything: work, education, entertainment, and much more. In her novel Gone Girl, author Gillian Flynn uses the thrilling story of Amy Dunne and her husband, Nick Dunne, who is accused of her murder to illustrate how much power mass media has over the general public s judgement and opinions, despite their increasingly common dishonesty. In Gone Girl, the media runs with stories that have little substance for the sole purpose of grabbing public attention, they use their power to alter public perception multiple times and push their own agenda, and they create public personalities for people that do not match who they truly are. Contemporary media stations are willing to run with any story as long as it will get them views and therefore money, even if the story has little to no substance. This is seen multiple times in the novel Gone Girl. At an volunteer search event for his missing wife, Nick Dunne is approached by Shawna Kelly. Although it is widely accepted that William Shakespeare wrote his own material, there are many people who believe that he was not the true author of the works attributed to him. Arguments against Shakespeare s authorship range from people believing that it was all a political cover up, and that there isn t enough factual evidence to come to the conclusion that Shakespeare truly did write his own work, to the conclusion that there are faults in the Oxfordian Theory of Shakespeare Authorship. Ultimately, the most valid evidence supports that Shakespeare is in fact the author of the most famous plays and sonnets of all time. Although there is not an exact day for William Shakespeare s birth, his birthday can roughly be placed around April in 1564.He grew up in Stratford upon Avon, located near London, and he was the oldest of his siblings. Shakespeare had a Latin education as a kid, because as the son of a leading Stratford citizen, he almost certainly attended Stratford s grammar school. Like all such schools, its curriculum consisted of an intense emphasis on the Latin classics (Folger Shakespeare Library, 2017). It is a nation filled with monumental success, wealth, prosperity, opportunity, and in general, one of the most impressive nations in the world. But, the United States is also filled with hate, discrimination, disparity, and a history riddled with grotesque treatment of those of a varying nature known today as minorities. A minority, is a culturally, ethnically, or racially distinct group that coexists with but is subordinate to a more dominant group. Although, this a small few of the minority members in the United States, these groups have faced very large troubles from the majority, which is classified as upper class, white males. African Americans were made slaves, women couldn t vote, LGBT couldn t marry one another in the early years of this nation. • 16. Essay On Death Of Romeo And Juliet The tragic play Romeo and Juliet was written by William Shakespeare during the late 1500 s. The play was originally born in England and finally published in 1597. The tragic play takes place in the beautiful Italian cities of Verona and Mantua. Two high born families, the Capulets and Montagues, and entangled in a spiteful feud. This resentful feud will result in the tragic death of two young lovers Romeo and Juliet. Romeo who is from the Montague family and Juliet who is from the Capulet family will fall in love with each other, and keep their love a secret. The aggrieved family feud will be the one to blame for the early death of Romeo and Juliet. The hatred the two families had for one another is what caused the unfortunate death of Romeo and Juliet. To hate and to hold onto anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to suffer. The hate the two families had for each other was toxic. Hatred is something that can destroy so much, and the hatred between the rivaling families is what executed Romeo and Juliet. The dye sensitized solar cells thus prepared were stable and more resistant to UV light, thermal stress, acid, and water when compared to traditional photoanodes. The main difference between the New Imperialism and the old colonialism was explained by the industrialization impact of the economy. The old colonization was an effect of the commercial revolution. It had expanded the economies of Europe, sending them to seek more trade in many products. Colonies were a source of raw materials. Other things expanded like financial markets, but the main focus was on products from the land. It has been shown that the objects in location $L_3$ at timestamps $T_1$ and location $L_4$ at timestemps $T_1, T_3, T_5$ are removed because only one object exists in the locations which is less than the minimum number of objects $min_{object}$. I was aware that I was lacking some nutrients by not eating gluten but to make up for it I took vitamin D pills and everyday women health vitamins but little did I know that was not enough to keep me healthy. I was not aware of the risks I was putting myself at by eliminating a whole category of food. I was lacking my body of calcium, fibre and iron as well as other nutrients. A year into my gluten free lifestyle I found myself always feeling sick, tired and cold. I had no motivation to do anything anymore. After a month of finding myself getting worse and worse and many trips to the doctor they finally made the diagnosis: I was lacking iron in my blood stream. Due to my gluten free diet I was eliminating meats as they tend to be marinated in sauces that contain gluten and whole wheats, two products that are high in iron. I was lacking my body of very important nutrients when I was not needing too. I quickly cut my gluten free diet and starting on my healthy life style. While a gluten free diet can be life changing to a celiac patient it can be damaging to someone like me who is not celiac nor gluten intolerant. • 30. High Failure Rate In Healthcare There are an abundance of issues that contribute to the relatively high failure rate of IT projects in healthcare. I believe the primary reason for this high failure rate is the complexity of healthcare including complex and fluid processes and a varied workforce ranging from physician and nurse to lab technician and aide (Boonstra, Versluis, Vos, 2014). Another significant reason for this failure rate is the need for a paradigm shift to accept HIT in the healthcare setting and to be open to process changes/improvements (Shea Belden, 2016; Chiocchio, Rabbat, Lebel, 2015). As a nurse, I can attest that the overwhelming attitude toward HIT and changes/improvements is poor; nurses appear to like the status quo. Another issue that significantly contributes to HIT failures is the fact that healthcare is extremely legislated. All HIT projects need to meet security, confidentiality, and regulatory constraints (Boonstra et al., 2014). The poet continues to describe the sufferings of the photographer when his mental state is compared as he is travelling between the two contrasting worlds one the warfront which is full of destruction and chaos and the other is Rural England, probably countryside that is peaceful and serene. He compares the pain of war to simple pain of changing weather back at home in England. There being nothing worse then the harsh weather that the children have to face as against the mines that explode on the running feet of the children affected by war. This only tells us that the photographer longs peace and he is deeply moved by the affected children. His prolonged thoughts are presented with great effect by the use of enjambment in this line and this adds to the effect of continuity of thoughts. During the transportation of a Jewish prisoner named Paul of Tarsus to Rome, it can be seen that religion was just one of the major concerns during this time. Founded in the eighth century B.C.E., Rome was originally a small city state ruled by one king. Eventually, Rome established itself as the dominant power in the Mediterranean basin by instituting an aristocratic republic government. Roman civilization changed drastically politically, economically, and culturally during the last centuries of the classical era, (100 600 C.E.), although some factors remained the same. The Roman forum was a political and civic center filled with temples and public buildings where leading citizens tended to government business that was built at the heart of the city. Rome also instituted a republican constitution that entrusted executive responsibilities to two consuls who exerted civil and military power. The Senate ratified all major decisions and along with the consuls, represented the interests of the patricians. This caused constant tension between the wealthy classes and common people, the plebeians. Patricians continued to dominate Rome, although the plebeians did receive some governmental rights. A happy ending; ethical in nature and a moral ending. Contrary to what Atwood articulates, fictional writing has been viewed as a way of writing that grants freedom to the writer. The writer can end the story with suspense, ending at just that point that a character is phased with a huge obstacle or immense passion (Nodelman, 1). This is believed to set the reader up into believing that overcoming such obstacles in real life brings about immense rewards and therefore such kind of writing is always motivational to the reader. This is a point of view that Atwood is quick to rubbish by pointing out that all other endings that are not happy endings in fiction are delusionary. Don t be deluded by any other endings, they re all fake, either deliberately fake, with malicious intent to deceive, or just motivated by excessive optimism if not by downright sentimentality (Atwood, 3). Arguments for the position held by Atwood with respect to the perfect ending to a work of fiction can be drawn from the societal relationships such as marriages and romantic affairs. These relationships are perceived as beautiful and comes with a form of fulfillment, thus should have a beautiful ending. Life should be easy and relationships should be successful. The happy ending adopted by Atwood is an illustration of how easy life should be and how successful relationships such as marriages should turn out. She ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
