Crafting an essay on the subject of "Buy Custom Essay" can pose a considerable challenge, as it
requires navigating a delicate balance between promoting the idea of purchasing custom essays
while addressing potential ethical concerns. The intricacy lies in presenting a nuanced
perspective that acknowledges the practicality of acquiring custom essays while highlighting the
importance of academic integrity.
Firstly, the writer must delve into the reasons why individuals opt to buy custom essays,
exploring factors such as time constraints, complex topics, or language barriers. This involves
thorough research to understand the diverse motivations behind this practice. On the flip side,
it's crucial to address the potential consequences of such actions, including academic dishonesty,
the risk of plagiarism, and the erosion of personal learning experiences.
Navigating the ethical landscape requires a delicate touch. One must tread carefully, offering a
balanced viewpoint without explicitly endorsing or condemning the act of buying custom essays.
This involves presenting the facts objectively and leaving room for readers to form their own
opinions. Additionally, the essay should consider alternative solutions, such as time management
strategies or seeking academic assistance through legitimate channels.
Structuring the essay poses another challenge. Striking the right balance between information,
analysis, and personal reflection is essential. The essay should flow logically, with each
paragraph contributing to the overall coherence of the argument. Integrating quotes, statistics,
and expert opinions adds depth and credibility to the discussion.
Furthermore, language proficiency and writing style play a crucial role. The essay should be
articulate, persuasive, and free from grammatical errors. The writer must adopt a tone that is both
informative and engaging, capturing the reader's attention while maintaining a sense of
professionalism.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of "Buy Custom Essay" demands careful
consideration of various factors, including research, ethical implications, structure, and language
usage. Successfully navigating these challenges ensures that the essay not only informs but also
encourages critical thinking on a complex subject.

Essay On Big Cat Public Safety Act
A woman flees from authorities with her collection of tigers, monkeys, a fox, and a
skunk and her 14 year old daughter who was living under the same roof as the wild
animals.
A California couple, whose escaped pet tiger prowled neighborhoods for weeks
before finally being shot and killed by authorities, quickly packed their things up and
fled with the rest of their big cat collection in tow.
What does these two as well as dozens of other cases all have in common? The
people all wind up in one state, Nevada.
While 45 out of the 50 states that make up America have laws forbidding people
from owning exotic wildlife there are five that have no such rules.
Like Nevada the four other states Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and
Wisconsin have no standards nor statewide laws restricting private possession of
dangerous wild animals.
You would think someone who is willing to go through all the trouble and expense to

The federal government needs to act immediately to protect both the animal and the
general public. The government needs to pass the Big Cat Public Safety Act. It
passage will prohibit unqualified morons from possessing and breeding big cats,
bolster weak laws in states that have them, and fill any gaps in states like Nevada
who just lost their damn minds and never passed any legislation on wildlife
ownership..
Until the state takes action, there can only be two outcomes. The Big cat act gets
passed or there will be a massacre in which a loose hungry Tiger, Leopard or Lion
escapes from it s backyard pens and kills a few kids and then the politicians will pass
the act as well as passing the blame for not passing it
Taking a look at the Movie Precious
The movie Precious is revolves heavily on the severe outcomes of life and how the
sever sufferings that some suffer can really effect one s mental status. The main
character of the movie is Claireece Precious Jones, referred to as Precious, a 16 year
old girl who has lived through a life of abuses with her abusive mother Monique and
step father Rodney; sufferingat a very young age from both her parents. In the movie,
Precious lives in a ghetto in Harlem New York surviving on welfare from an
unemployed mother and her first child. Precious among other problems from an
abusive lifestyle, has critical eating disorders and finds comfort in constant eating.
The movie is based on the novel Push by Sapphire (Albers, 2009).
Precious faces ceaseless abuses from her mom. According to Albers, Precious s
mother, did not protect her from her father s abuse, who constantly molested her
and her mother forced her to have sex with her step father which resulted in her
getting pregnant twice. Mom rather aided the abuse in so many ways. One through
food. She intimidates Precious into preparing greasy, fatty foods for her. She
brutally makes Precious eat even when she doesn t feel like. Making her daughter
fat helps her secure herself causing other to reject her. Also, her fatness causes her to
hate her daughter more, who she is resentful of her for many reasons. Avoiding
Precious from controlling her own hunger is another way of abusing Precious body

Barno s Role In The Military
After reading these pieces it was easy to speculate that the authors are of adult age
with some degree of higher education based off of the fact their work is published as
a respected opinion. The authors either mentioned attending prestigious events or
schools. Rini, attended Georgetown University, and I can suspect Barno, is military
affiliated by his mentions to the event of for governor, Tom Ridge, and his extensive
knowledge on the military. I would assume the authors range anywhere from early
forties to early fifties. This can be supported by mentions such as, when Goldberger
states, I don t miss the age when phone charges were based on distance... (4) and the
fact he mentions the old telephone exchanges which were discontinued in... Show

As for in A New Moral Compact, Barno truly moved me by making a case worth
defending and giving some serious consideration. When Barno questions the audience
, ...where is the moral hazard the personal equity stake that shapes our collective
judgement (17) personally, I took a moment and really reflected on his argument.
This leads me to say he was successful in his intended purpose due to having me
take carefully consideration not just in his claim but in the logistics of our present
military. Finally, in the piece written by Rini, I can understand her points and she
clearly states her audience while closing her point by asking, ...does continuing to
apply the name of such a person express our values, rather than the values of a gone
generation? (24). By asking this she narrows her audience to those specifically in
today s generation asking them to involve themselves in such ideas and thoughts.
Rini s main focus is convincing you to be an active voice by moving, you to agree,
as an act of civic love (25). The readings all address current issues despite whenever
they were written it still holds true and successfully engaged me in critical thought.
When questioning the credibility of the authors, I took into account if the material
was up to date and if the author s opinions had merit. Since we were told to do this
discussion without researching them I focused
Major Challenges of Organizational Management
MAJOR CHALLENGES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT
There are a number of differences between FMC s Aberdeen and Green River, the
two facilities of discussion. One may assume, therefore, that managerial styles,
business practices, and other aspects of business and the employees involved, would
be very different from one another. On the other hand, it is quite possible to use very
similar styles of doing business and managing a company, despite differences in the
company, as a good style of managing, and good practices would assist any business
in succeeding. Management, employees and productivity being the main focus s at
hand, one may first want to review these differences between the two facilities. To
begin with, the facility in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Good communication between all management levels and employees is also
necessary in keeping any business running efficiently. Again, seeing as how the
Aberdeen facility has already established these practices, and has them running
smoothly, they need only to maintain them and increase innovation with the times.
If I were to use an analogy to describe these two types of managerial styles, I would
state that the original style of managing was like a pyramid, and this new style of
managing was a linked chain. The pyramid is dependent on all of its members, but
there is a definite sense of superiority, as the higher management levels shrink
down in numbers, but tower over all else. This pyramid, upon producing positive
results, is viewed by others as having produced them due to the excellence of the
peak of the pyramid, with very little or no recognition at the bottom of said
pyramid. The linked chain on the other hand, though still managed with upper and
lower levels, reacts more as a team, giving those involved more recognition for their
accomplishments. People who are recognized as such, and appreciated for their
individual strengths, may be more likely to utilize these strengths and feel that they
are a part of the company, rather than a pawn of the company. There is something
very positive to be said for this type of thinking, if everyone on the Earth felt
Essay On The Progressive Era
Part I: The United States in Latin America since the Spanish American War of 1898
American historians commonly refer to the period between the 1890s and the end
of the First World War as the Progressive Era (Cocks, Holloran, Lessoff, 2009, vii).
The Progressive Era is mostly associated with the presidencies of Republican heads
of state Theodore Roosevelt (1901 09) and William Howard Taft (1909 1913) but
also, with Democrat Woodrow Wilson (1913 21). It is generally remembered as a
time of political reforms and of governmental desire to tackle social evils and
inequality.
The Progressive Era also embraced an important foreign policy agenda. Following the
U.S. crushing victory in the Spanish American War of 1898 under William McKinley,
the United States began a new chapter in its relationship with Latin America. While
some would see an inherent contradiction between Progressive values and the U.S.
expansionism that arisen in Latin America (and in the Pacific), such paradox was not
necessarily apparent to Washington. As argued by historian Lester D. Langley (2002),
despite their profound political differences, Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson agreed that
the government played a powerful role in advancing hemispheric trade and in
safeguarding U.S. investment (p. xvii). Scientific racism, pre conceived notions about
Latin American and non whites countries inferiority and the need to expand
American financial enterprises made it easy for U.S. officials to reconcile ideals about

The Importance Of Success In The Film Chop Shop
Success is an essential component human beings seek to obtain. In society,
individuals who emerge successful is a result of obtaining an education. However, it
is multiple factors that allow a person to be successful and not solely one. Success is
not one dimensional. An additional element that plays a role in the determination of
successis life experiences. A combination of both obtaining an education and
obtaining personal life experiences are important in creating the most valuable and
successful people in society. The film Chop Shop revolves around the story of
Alejandro Polanco, a 12 year old boy from Queens. Alejandro, or Ale, is an orphan

Ale s shortage of adult and educator guidance lead to him losing thousands. If he
possessed both essential elements, Alejandro would have been able to overcome
the obstacles he initially faced and would successfully open a food truck business
thus making his life to be deemed successful. Alejandro s disappointment with the
food truck results in him lashing out at his older sister Isamar. He is enraged with
Izzy s negligence with reading the documents. Izzy did not finish her education
since she only finished her first year of high school. Despite being older, Izzy acts
like a child and Ale is the sensible sibling that plans for the future. Her disregard for
responsibility puts Ale in compromising situations that can potentially ruin their life
style. Izzy desires to go back to school however her financial situation makes it an
unattainable dream. Her obligation to provide for her brother and herself results in
her becoming a prostitute at such a young age. She does not believe she can amount
to anything else since she has limit education and work experience that can provide
her with a bright future. Izzy supports her brothers dreams because she believes he
can succeed more than she ever can be. Isamar s lack of education hinders her ability
of being successful. Obtaining an education and life experiences are important in
creating the most valuable people in society. This was demonstrated through the
portrayal of Alejandro being unsuccessful in Chop
Andrew Jackson Unlucky
Andrew Jackson should not be on the $20 dollar bill. There are many reasons why
Andrew Jackson should not be representing our country by being on the $20 dollar

controversial that people petitioned the government to get him off our currency.i He

Examples Of Crooks In Of Mice And Men
Just as Havisham and Curley s wife s isolation is because of their gender, Crooks
in Of Mice and Men is presented as the epitome of the frustration and loneliness
caused by isolation. However, Crooks s isolation is not due to his gender, but his
colour and race. In Of Mice and Men , Steinbeck presents Crooks as an isolated
character due to his race. He names Crooks as Crooks because he has a crooked
back and he is called Nigger implying that he is unimportant. Steinbeck portrays
Crooks s loneliness through this is just a nigger talking a bust back nigger. So it

In the poem Hitcher , Armitage examines the disappointments of the speaker who is
about to lose his job and who is under pressure conforming to society s expectations,
and his frustration with life. Armitage portrays the theme of isolation using some
lexical choices which carry negative connotations such as tired , fired , under the
weather , emphasizing the amount of pain he suffers from being threatened with
losing his job and not having any purposes in life. Armitage adopts a defeated and
frustrated tone to illustrate the frustration, isolation and anger which contribute to
the speaker s internal sufferings. The defeated, frustrated tone of the speaker in
the poem is presented through a series of lexical choices which carry connotations
of negative emotions. These words form a semantic field of frustrated emotions
and the reason why the writer has done this is to try to suggest that the speaker is
very disturbed and threatened. I d been tired evokes sympathy from the readers. It
is colloquial which underlines realism with a lack of imagery in the poem. Under
the weather can be inferred as the speaker not feeling well. It doesn t only mean
that he doesn t feel well in a physical way, it also implies that he mood is not very
good, echoes with I d been tired and fired . These aren t convincing, though weather

Dementia and Alzheimer s Research Analysis Paper
Dementia and Alzheimer s Research Analysis Paper Part 1: Introduction The topic
I am writing about is memory loss or more specifically: Dementia and Alzheimer s
disease. Modern medicine has improved significantly in the last decade and the
average human lifespan has been extended. However, since humans are living
longer, there is also an increased susceptibility for chronic diseases as opposed to
infectious diseases. A chronic disease that is slowly on the rise is Alzheimer s, as it
is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. This topic is important to me
because I ve had numerous encounters with patients with dementia and have seen the
impact it has on many families and friends. Additionally, the brain is arguably... Show

The brain is composed of billions of neurons, which interact and connect with each
other, which allow us to perform our everyday activities. Plaques and tangles are
the two structures that are suspected for the damage of nerve cells. Plagues are
deposits that build up between neurons and tangles build up inside the neurons.
Most people develop these abnormal obstructions as they age, but those with
Alzheimer s have a tendency to develop much more. My basic knowledge of
Alzheimer s and dementia comes from my work experience and from my classes. I
ve also attended many educational Alzheimer s seminars, and I know that
maintaining a healthy diet, exercising, avoiding mind alternating drugs, and

The Growing Prevalence Of Cultural Tourism
In determining a business opportunity, two main problems have been identified. The
first problem arises from the growing prevalence of cultural tourism; modern tourists
are more concerned with immersing themselves in the cultural context of their
destination than ever before (Richards, 2007). Travellers are wanting to see more
than just the sights there is an emerging desire to meet local inhabitants and
experience what life is like for them (Smith, 2009). The problem that arises from this
is that it can be difficult for travellers to meet locals and experience the culture
beyond that which can be found in the guidebook. Additionally, these kinds of
experiences can be expensive and difficult to organise. The second problem that has...

The Unmaking Nichole Nordman Analysis
The lyrics of Nichole Nordman s The Unmaking have been 10 years in the making
for the Dove award winning artist. After the release of her 2005 album Brave, the
Oklahoma local took a step back from her career to focus on her family. I didn t
have a lot of balance. I was struggling a lot to be the artist that I wanted to be and
the mom that I wanted to be, and kind of failing at both, from my definition. The
following decade resulted in a complete upheaval for the singer/songwriter, largely
due to the end of her 10 year marriage. In her upcoming EP, she chronicles her
journey of brokenness, sharing how the Lord has rebuilt her through this testing
period. I tend to, at all cost, just maintain this illusion that things are fine, when they
re clearly not fine. She hares with Vital. What I felt like God was saying to me in

To not be honest would feel really fraudulent, I think, when I have sort of built a
life of music around honestly. Featuring six tracks, her new EP is admittedly pretty
diverse. Aside from the raw honesty found in The Unmaking, she also delves into a
worship style as she co writes with Plumb and later sings a soft ballad to her
children in Slow Down. I want to maintain my identity...that I have that s unique.
She says of her development as a musician. At the same time, I always feel like
there has been evolution and change and the next generation of what that sound
is...I guess it remains to be seen how other people feel, but I do feel like this is the
next version of me, musically. Stepping back into the cycle of recording and
touring does have its challenges after such a prolonged period out of the spotlight.
It s all so different since even when I stepped out of it a couple years ago. Some of
that s just been getting back on the bike and learning how to

FINRA s next role in the industry is to assist in disciplining those who break the
laws. According to the FINRA (2014) website they have the authority to fine,
suspend, or bar in severe cases. One of the most notable cases was that of a Florida
broker who ripped of thirty or so NFL players. The investors all lost a great deal of
money, but with the help of FINRA (2014) the individual was brought to justice
and barred from the industry. Finra (2014) also aided in getting 1.6 million dollars
in restitution from an individual who conned the elderly and even got a million
dollar fine for their wrongdoing. These cases both show the reach of their
enforcement and their abilities. For more severe violations FINRA (2014) will look
to the SEC to assist in the prosecution of those violators. The SEC focuses usually on
the markets and companies more then the actual individuals where associations like

Canada In The 19th Century Essay
The 16th century is really where it all began. Where a man of prudence explored
the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Who knew this land of green would be re visualised as
a world of red? It was only a matter of time before the south of Canada was bared of
its natural existence to a nationalistic, industrialized and capitalistic society. When
columbus found North America in the 15th century, explorers such as Jacques Cartier
wanted the New world for themselves. The term the New World simply reminds us of
the rapid industrialized development America has endured for the past 500 years. The
west dominated the 20th century, with european and North American powers

Critics of the canadian approach argue that non assimilation of immigrants weaken
Canada s national identity because civic nationalism will weaken due to ethnic ones.
However, immigrants continue to support Canada s immigration quo and
international organizations glorify Canadian immigration policy. Metropolitans in
canada were attractive to immigrants because they had the ability to better their
lifestyle as cities in Canada began industrializing which provided more sources for
employment. The economy flourished with grand international immigration that
primarily favoured British and European immigrants until 1980 s when the
government led the admission of more ethnic cultures. Canada was therefore named a
mosaic for particularism. As multiculturalism became tolerant, metropolitans such as
Toronto and vancouver expressed diversity. Cultural appreciation aided the
acceptance of political difference. Symbolically, in 1965 the maple leaf flag was
adopted because Canada portrayed significant sovereignty and felt the former flag
praised Britain rather than embracing the high rates of immigrants and french
canadians. Noticeable immigration is one of the fundamental socio political issues at
the moment. The acceptance of justifiable immigrants, has been used as precedents
for situations such as refugees. The

Three Main Factors Leading To The Fall Of Mayan
Civilizations
Mayan civilization, as one of the most dominant indigenous societies throughout
the history, has never been forgotten either by historians or normal people. With its
vigorous development, an era of Golden Age began during the Classic Period.
However, once untouchable, Mayan civilization crashed in such a short time as if
it had never appeared before. The collapse of Mayan civilization is like a mystery
for historians today, so they never give up searching for evidence that caused the
dramatic reversal in history. Since there was not a decisive cause led to the fall of
Mayan civilization, three main factors possibly could bring about the Maya collapse
contemporarily: drought, warfare between city states, and overpopulation. Foremost,
drought plays a dominant role in leading to the fall of Mayan civilization. Drought
has always been connected with a part of extinction because the living environment
is one of the most crucial points for survival. Drought is caused by prolonged
shortages of water supply and there is no species can live without water, so all the
living factors are depending on the living environment. Mayan civilization faced

According to a famous archaeologist, anthropologist, epigrapher Michael D. Coe s
estimate, The Maya region may have supported a population of some ten million
people during the height of the classic period. Such a large population was
probably insupportable in the long run because of the difficulties of ensuring a
steady water supply and because of the limits of the region s agricultural capacity.
For those regions suffered from a water shortage, the lack of rain and repeated crop
failures make it entirely impossible for farmers, which accounts for 90 percent of the
population, to make a living. As a result, under the pressure of limited resource and
living circumstances, overpopulation explained the decline of Mayan
Disadvantages Of Food Deserts
Grocery Incubators More than 20 million people live in food deserts, areas where at
least a third of the population lives more than one mile from the nearest grocery store
(10 miles in rural areas). Without a supermarket in the vicinity, food desert residents
must get their meals from whatever options are around often fast foodjoints and
corner stores. Burger Kings and bodegas aren t exactly hitting the highlights of the
food pyramid. Enter supermarketboosters like the Detroit Grocery Incubator Project.
Part of Michigan s Fair Food Network, the incubator aims to combat food deserts
by increasing the number of supermarkets in Detroit neighborhoods. The initiative
provides local entrepreneurs with on the job training and coursework on how to
open and operate a successful grocery store. The incubator project also helps
secure investors to allow entrepreneurs to open supermarkets in food deserts.

Manliness In The Witch Of Blackbird Pond
The Art of Manliness
What does it mean to be a man? Is it some measurement of age or brain faculty?
Perhaps, it s simply being a male and having a fully developed body. The definition
of manhood has been greatly debated for many years, thus it is no surprise that the
meaning of the idea is not that simple. Manliness, must then be defined as a particular
character trait or code of morals that a boy must adhere to, truly qualifying and
graduating to the status of Man. If that is the case, then decency, intelligence,
independence, confidence, and a whole array of other defining qualities must be met
to achieve this title. The Witch of Blackbird Pond is a piece of historical fiction
filled with a cast of interesting characters. It s the ... Show more content on

Matthew is a Patriot which, at the time, was a man who had given himself
wholeheartedly to the pursuit of American freedom and independence from the
crown. Matthew s love of his home and willingness to fight is made extremely
clear in the simplest gesture, ...Kit halted, wary as always, at the sight of her uncle.
He was standing not far from the house, looking out toward the river, his face half
turned from her. He did not notice her. He simply stood, idle for one rare moment,
staring at the golden fields... As Kit watched, her uncle bent slowly and scooped
up a handful of brown dirt from the garden patch at his feet, and stood holding it
with a curious reverence, as though it were some priceless substance. As it
crumbled through his fingers his hand convulsed in a sudden passionate gesture.
(The Witch of Blackbird Pond, Ch:14 Pg:147 Elizabeth George Speare) This
vulnerability speaks volumes to what loyalty is, and should be, in the heart of a
man. This display of emotion is one of many moments when Matthew shows a
strange weakness that is also his strength. Loyalty should inspire such passion in a
man that the very earth he loves would invoke a reverence and devotion that is wild

Write An Essay On Invasive Species
Abstract. We addressed how invasive species such as tamarisk (Tamarix spp.) affect
darkling beetle (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) abundance and diversity. We predicted
that darkling beetle abundance and diversity would be higher in tamarisk bosques due
to higher leaf litter and detritus compared to habitats without tamarisk. To examine
this hypothesis, we conducted pitfall trapping and observational encounter surveys in
three different settings: native high desert, tamarisk thicket and a common garden
plot. We found two patterns. 1. Darkling beetleabundance was higher in native
habitats compared to the tamarisk and common garden habitats. 2. Darkling beetle
diversity was higher in the native habitats compared to the tamarisk and common
garden habitats. These results suggest that the introduction of invasive tamarisk
negatively affects the distribution and diversity of darkling beetles, and that
management practices may not remediate the change.

The introductions of non native species can cause significant changes to the
biodiversity of ecosystems (Hobbs 2000, Van Auken 2000). These changes, often
mediated by competition, can affect the physiognomy of a landscape. These changes

If we were to improve this study, a longer sampling period to obtain a larger
sample size would be necessary. With a larger sample size, it would be easier to
draw conclusions from the ANOVA. It would also be beneficial to collect more

about the community composition and how that could be affected by tamarisk and
management practices. Analyses of potential food for darkling beetles in different

The increasing complexity of business operations and the ever changing conditions of
business environment such as the economic, social, technological political
development as well as Government policies, make it increasingly difficult for a
company to consistently earn profit that would constitute a fair return on the capital
invested. There is thus the need to employ modern management tools to improve
manager s efficiency in order to guarantee a steady return on capital invested.
1.2 DECISION MAKING AND MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING INFORMATION.
Decision making is purposeful selection from among a set of alternatives in the light
of a given objective. (Oyedijo 1996) Decision making is not a separate function of
management; in fact decision making is intertwined with the other functions such as
planning, co ordinating and controlling. Chiefly among all these functions is
planning which is described as the foremost and most basic of all management
functions and the skill with which it is performed determines to a large extent the
success of all operations of an organisation.
In planning, managers outline the steps to be taken in moving the organisation
towards its objectives. The decision making aspect of management function however
ensure that best alternative is selected to achieve the objectives. Budgeting plays a
vital role in planning and that has a direct
Throughout The Movie Precious, There Are Several Times
Throughout the movie Precious, there are several times when the audience witnesses
trauma and its effect on Precious life. These traumatizing events include sexual abuse,
verbal abuse, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. When people go through these
events, their mind will find ways to cope with their situation. These coping
mechanisms are depersonalization, derealization, detachment, and dissociation.
Depersonalization is defined in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders 5 (DSM 5) as experiences of unreality, detachment, or being an outside
observer with respect to one s thoughts, feelings, sensations, body, or actions (DSM
5, 2013, p. 302). According to Mayo Clinic, a symptom could be that a person feels

Towards the end of the movie, Precious looks out the window and sees her dream
guy. As her mom walks by, she chooses to walk away from the window. At this
point, I believe that she is disengaging from the fantasy world that she had been
trying to live in for so many years. Detachment is another experience that is seen in
Precious. Detachment is defined by Science Daily (n.d) as an inability to connect
with others on an emotional level, as well as a means of coping with anxiety by
avoiding certain situations that trigger it . Another way of thinking of this is a lack
of physical emotion during a situation (R. Stensrud, lecture, February 21, 2017). An
example of this would be when her father rapes her. Precious shows no physical
emotion during this time. She lies there and slips into her fantasy world. The same
thing occurs when the boys in the alley way shove her down onto the sidewalk.
Instead of fighting back, she lays on the ground and goes into this numbing state,
letting her mind slip into this fantasy world where she is dancing on a stage in front
of everyone. By refusing to feel anything and blocking out the traumatizing event, she
is better able to cope with her negative experiences in life. Last but not least,
dissociation is clearly present in Precious. Dissociation is defined by
betterhealth.vic.gov.au as a mental process of disconnecting from one s thoughts,
feelings, memories, or sense of identity. We see this each time that

Patriot s vs. People s Howard Zinn s, Peoples History of the US and Larry
Schweikart s, Patriots History of the US are two analytical views on history that
most people would consider politically conflicting. Zinn s Marxist book was
widely praised by liberal activist and Schweikart s book is greatly publicized by
conservatives like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. These two widely known
historians turned their focus on writing two historical pieces that would fill in the
historical holes that weren t being taught in the educational systems. It created a
type of diverse learning that made for a great argument while still allowing the
readers to understand all sides of the topics at hand. Zinn really dismissed the
common white mans history and focused his approach on a multiple minority
perspective. Schweikart s book is very different in the sense he takes aim at Zinn
as he targets words like great discovery and war on terror which Zinn only used as
scare quotes. Schweikart s book really reads like old history textbooks from the
moral principals of the American founders that built this nation to the ideological
view of American prosperity. No matter who shares the views of the political
perspectives or condemns them because of its bias stances both historians felt
responsible in writing the history of the United States.
Zinn did not believe in an unbiased approach to history

Since founding The Friedman Group, a global retail consulting and training

executives who refuse to provide much training to their front line store employees.
One of the most common is: What if I train them, and they leave? Friedman says this
is the exact opposite approach they should take. He suggests a better question is,
What if I don t train them, and they stay?

How Did The Great Depression Impact On Society
The Great Depression was a great economic breakdown, from buying on credit to
the stock market crash, which lead to bank failures and people in the streets with no
jobs or money to support their families. This depression would spread throughout the
nation and the world, giving a growing enemy in Europe, the advantage he needed.
After World War I, America celebrated and the Roaring 20 s was underway. People
were cheerful and happily celebrating for many days and nights. However, during this
time buying on credit made a huge impact on the community. People didn t take their
future into consideration, and soon started buying items they didn t have the money
for, so the installment system was created so people could pay their debts over time.
But soon the Stock Market crashed on October 29,1929 and the installment system
went down with it. Now that they couldn t pay for their items, they felt worried and
pressured knowing that they could lose their home and everything they possessed.
Two months later the stockholders... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Newton s first law is applicable, not only to inanimate objects but to human

My experience of almost a year and a half has taught me the importance of
Mechanical Engineering in the Oil Gas industry. It has also made me appreciate the
interfaces that Mechanical Engineering has with other branches of Engineering. I
have worked on two projects during my tenure. The first one was a training project
where I led a team of 13 engineers split across two different locations. Leading a
team that was working from different locations helped me improve my
communication and leadership skills. The second project I worked on was a study
project that had an objective of finding solutions to increase capacity of a deluge
water system on Snorre Oil platform located on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
This project exposed me to the different stages of an EPCI (Engineering Procurement

various disciplines in the industry, I have also learned about the Cost, Schedule and
Management aspects of a multidisciplinary project. As most projects nowadays
involve interfacing between different disciplines, I believe that this experience will
help me take better cost decisions with regards to engineering and will help me

Part one: Dead set 2008
The week one screening of film Dead Set, a horror drama film created by Charlie
Brooker and directed by Yann De mange chronicles a nightmare scenario in which
Britain is taken over by Zombies. It is essentially a spoof on reality television that
depicts both the inside and outside worlds of the UK s version of Big Brother. The
film explores the parallels between zombies and contemporary reality television.
Zombies represent the darker side of human nature (Gadsby, 2011), coinciding with
the idea that reality television has the power to destruct and generate conceptions that
construct the way society thinks.
Brookers film looks at the power of media influence. It reflects the ideology of the
modern day society, where people have become to consumed in media and just like
zombies have their minds set on one thing. This can follow the idea of the
Hypodermic Needle Theory, established by Harold Lasswell in 1920s, which
assumes audiences are passive, and homogenous. The theory assumes that the media
s message is a bullet fired from the media gun into the viewers head (Berger, 1995).
Furthermore, the worlds bullet and needle are used to show the powerlessness of the
audience as media impacts public opinion and behaviour change.
Booker examines the history of reality TV and wants audiences to consider the
capacity of humankind to consume itself via the media s obsession with representing

Essay about Root Surface Caries
Root Surface Caries
Caries can affect any surface of the teeth. The most commonly seen caries are found
on the crown of a tooth, above the cemento enamel junction, it is also possible for
caries to form on the root surface, below the cemento enamel junction. Dental root
caries has received a great deal of attention in the past few decades. A variety of
different patients are at risk for root surface caries. Dentists use several methods of
treatment.
Root surface caries are also called cemental caries, cervical caries, or radicular caries.
(Wilkins) Root surface caries only involves the roots of teeth. The cementum and
dentin located just below the crown of the tooth is involved. No involvement of
enamel is seen with root surface caries. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This process is enhanced with the presence of gingival recession.(Hammel)
Clinically, root caries appears as a soft, irregularly shaped lesion, either totally
confined to the root surface or also involving the enamel at the cemento enamel
junction. (Flaitz) It is more easily detected on exposed root surfaces. It has been
found that 10% to 20% of root caries lesions are found subgingivally, especially at
the interproximal region. The most common locations also include exposed roots of
the mandibular premolar and molar areas. On a dental radiograph, root surface caries
appears as a cupped out or crater shaped radiolucency just below the cemento enamel
junction. Early lesions may be difficult to detect on a dental radiograph.(Hassan)
Clinical description is very subjective and is based on color, texture, surface
smoothness, depth of the lesion, and distinctiveness of its border. Root caries can
be classified as active or inactive. Active lesions are leathery or soft, and inactive or
arrested lesions are hard upon touch with an explorer. Root caries can vary in color
from black or dark brown to yellowish or light brown.(Wilkins)
Measures that can be taken to prevent root surface caries are just as one would
perform to prevent coronal caries. Oral hygiene is most important. Brush your teeth
at least twice a day, preferably after each meal. Floss your teeth regularly to remove
food particles between your teeth that cannot be removed by ordinary brushing.

Once The United States of America won its independence from Great Britain, the
American people were forced to decide how to effectively govern their new free
country. Throughout history, new governments have had to choose whether to
establish a Democracy or Republic. A Democracy has no code of law and
representatives that act based on the wants of the people. On the other hand,
Republicanism has a code of law and representatives that are free to make their own
decisions. Both having their strengths and weakness, there have been specific times
in history when a Democracyis more effective than a Republic and a Republic is

The fear of the Soviet Union and the spread of communism was so intense that The
United States needed to be a republic to institute laws, protected individual liberties
and preserve checks and balances. McCarthy showed how politics can be twisted
when public fears are exploited for self serving ends. He proved that politicians can
capitalize on an issue to benefit themselves at the expense of others. This was seen
with the House Un American Activities Committee (HUAC). The HUAC was a
committee within the House of Representatives that investigated claims of
communist activity during the Cold War. They used subpoenas as a way to force
citizens to court. The HUAC used controversial tactics and further contributed to the
atmosphere of fear and distrust. here are two prominent legal cases from the
McCarthy era that further exemplify how the hysterical anticommunist feeling in
the US may have led to injustice. These cases remain controversial even today. The
first case occurred when Alger Hiss was accused of being a Soviet spy. With little
evidence the government tried to convict him and eventually did so on perjury
(McCarthy and McCarthyism, Digital History). The second case deals with a
conspiracy to commit espionage by a couple, Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. They were
accused for spying for the Soviet Union. They maintained their innocence but

He had high expectations placed on him by others, just like many of the teenagers
out here today, Not just from our family, but high authorities such as teachers and

book. In the beginning of the book, I feel that Conner was heartbroken and jealous

consists of a motor neuron and all of the muscle fibers it innervates. twitch Skeletal
Muscle twitch is the mechanical response to a single action potential. It has three
phases known as the latent, contraction, and relaxation phase. threshold the threshold
is the minimal stimulus needed to cause a depolarization of the muscleplasma

4. Describe the three phases of a muscle twitch. The latent phase is the period of time
that elapses between the generation of an action potential in a muscle cell and the
start of muscle contraction. The Concentration phases tarts at the end of the latent
period and ends when the muscle tension peaks. The relaxation phase is the period
from peak tension until the end of the muscle contraction.
5. What could be a chemical cause of fatigue? It is suspected that fatigue is caused by
an accumulation of lactic acid, ADP, and P, in muscles. Another reason comes from
Calcium levels decreasing from muscle contractions.
6. In fatigue, what happens to force production over time? Force will fall because
muscle cell s ATP is used up faster than it s produced.
7. If you were lifting a dumbbell, would your muscles be contracting isometrically or
isotonically? isometrically
8. What is the key variable in an isometric contraction? muscle length
9. Define the term maximal stimulus. the stimulus beyond which there are no further
increase in force.
10. What has happened in the muscle when the maximal stimulus is achieved?
All the individual nerve fibers have been stimulated responding all or none.
11. What is the difference between stimulus intensity and stimulus frequency?
Tom Cruise Pre Crime
In the movie that stars Tom Cruise as the head detective for the pre crime unit
there are several intriguing ideas going on. John Anderson who is played by Tome
Cruise gets his information from what is known as the pre cogs who are a group of
two males and one female. These pre cogs are able to see into the futurewhen a
murder is going to take place. These three people are floating in a liquid unable to
move to leave. They stay lying there all day and night just to serve the purpose of
warning the pre crimepoliceof danger that is suppose to come. Which sets up our first
dilemma that takes place during this movie.
These three people or pre cogs because in the movie they are not really thought as
being human beings are really imprisoned. They don t have the ability to leave or go
home; instead they are forced into drugs that keep them somewhat conscious but not
too much as to know of their surroundings. They were being used really for someone
else s gain, which turned out in the end not to be the pre crime police. In the movie ...

138). In this movie however, the pre crime police task force violates that right.
They instead choose to believe in the belief that we are predestined in the case of
committing murder. They fail to believe that people can choose the path that they
take in life and whether or not they want to commit a certain act whatever it shall
be. A person has free will and with that power they have the ability to decide to
murder someone or not. The movie shows that at the end we do in fact have a
choice to whether or not we murder someone. Hence, the rationale behind arresting
people who have yet to commit a crime should be illegal and unethical. You are
stripping that person of his or her rights and reaching the belief that humans have no
sense of free
Ground Water Contamination and Household Response in...
There are two sources of drinking water, surface water and ground water and they are
each managed, monitored and regulated differently even though the actual water
systems are interrelated and integrated. The state of Missouri has historically had
plenty of high quality fresh water sources; in the northern half of the state most of the
drinking watercomes from surface water while the majority of the southern
population gets water from underground aquifers (Missouri Department of Natural
Resources, 2010). The Missouri River and its alluvium wells provide more than half
of the state s residents with drinking water as most of the urban centers in the state
are located along its course. Water from wells located adjacent to the Missouri River

The contamination was ultimately found to be Escherichia coli 0157:H7 commonly
referred to as E. coli or EC0157. Investigations by the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) and the Missouri state and county public health departments
determined the most probable source of contamination was leakage of sewage near
broken water main lines that then entered the drinking water distribution system
(Swerdlow et al, 1992). According to the report by Swerdlow et al (1992), this
particular incident had the distinction of being not only the largest incidence of
EC0157 infection at that time but also the first due to a multiple resistant organism,
and the first documented to be transmitted by water (Swerdlow et al, 1992, p. 818).
Testing of water taken directly from the wells in Cabool revealed the water
contamination did not occur in the ground water itself but was initiated in and then
distributed via the water supply system. The Cabool contamination could have been
prevented had the town followed the recommended standard procedure of
hyperchlorination immediately after water line breaks or repairs (Swerdlow et el,
1992). It is common for water systems to have small leaks but they usually do not
result in contamination as the positive flow of water pressure prevents inward
infiltration of the system but when there are breaks in the lines and pressure is lost,
contamination can flow back into the water lines.

Abstract
Argentina is one of the largest countries in the world. It is sitting at the eighth
largest country. It is filled with many valuable minerals. Also, Argentina has a great
background of history. It was discovered by Juan D?az de Sol?s in early 16th
century. It was disputed and is still being disputed today! Sebastian Cabot went
exploring in 1526. He established a fort named Sancti Sp?ritus. Then in 1529, the
natives of Argentina wiped out the whole fort, while Cabot was out looking for the
?City of Caesars.? Asunci?n and Buenos Aires played an important role in the rise of
Argentina. It lured many settlers from Spain. After the Independence Movement, the
area went through some tough times. The country fought until they were free from
Spain. The government declared independence on July 9, 1816. A few years after
that, the government fell apart.
The nation?s government is very similar to the government of the United States. It
has a two house congress. One house is called the Senate, and the other house is
called the Chamber of Deputies. Also, the Presidency is the same of the United
States. They can serve only two four year terms. The only difference is that they can

The businesses and small shops are open early and stay open late. They have a long
lunch break around noon. There are New World and Old World customs in the
Argentine diet (Encyclop?dia Britannica, 2016). Breakfast is served with three sweet
rolls called medialunas. Medialunas means ?half moons? in Spanish. The medialunas
are sweet crescent rolls. The Argentines make coffee the same way the French do.
Supper in Argentina is in the Spanish style, which is the main dish served with
casseroles, soup, or rice on the side. Dinner is usually served after 9:00 p.m in
Argentina, and the supper mostly consists of Italian
Cognitive Development in Infants Essay
This paper is going to carry out a literature review on cognitive development in
infants. The paper will review cognitive development in infants at different stages.
Effects of early experience on mental development in infants will also be discussed.
The research question and the hypothesis of the research will also be given.
Keywords: infants, development, experience Cognitive Development in Infants
Introduction Advancement made in regard to cognitive neuroscience has enabled a
better understanding of the cognitive processes in infants. Studies have indicated that
cognitive development in infants starts before they are born. In the eighth week of

This stage lasts from birth to twelve months. In this stage, infants gain knowledge
about their surrounding by using their senses. (Clarke Stewart, Gruber, Fitzgerald,
2007, p. 154). They recognize the faces of their caregivers and may respond to
smiles. At these stage infants are generally attracted to bright colors, and show
response to sound by turning towards the direction of the sound. Studies have
indicated that infants between the ages of three and seven weeks have the ability to
recognize shapes and pictures of human faces (Goswami, 1994, p. 376). Researchers
have also investigated the development of working memory in infants. It has been
established that working memory, that is, the ability to retain information in the brain
increases with age. Infants aged five to seven months were found to be unable to
retain more than three objects in their working memory. Fifty percent of infants aged
twelve months had developed the capacity to retain more than three objects in their
working memory. Studies have also indicated that at the age of six months, infants
have the ability to memorize events. Infants, between the ages of 6 to 9 months have
developed the cognitive ability to master object performance. Object performance
refers to the ability of an infant to understand that objects do continue to exist even if
out of sight. Development of object performance is also an indication that the infant
has developed the ability of goal
Bad Blood, Good Nursing
Bad Blood, Good Nursing
In the famous words of Maya Angelou, When you know better, you do better. The
historical course of nursing is the epitome of this statement. There are a great many
things in the long history of our chosen field to be proud of ranging from the
advancements made by Florence Nightingale to the support the nursing community
gave to Kelly Johnson following her two minute speech during the 2015 Miss
America Pageant. With that being said, there have been a few mistakes along the
way. One such mistake involves the role that the infamous Nurse Rivers played in the
Tuskegee Syphilis Study. Today, we know that nurses have an ethical duty to
intervene when an unethical practice is found, both for the safety of the patient and
the integrity of the title RN. Nurses may have difficulty intervening with unethical
practices of a doctor because of the negative effects it may have on the working
relationship. However, after reviewing what occurred within the Tuskegee study, we
ve seen what happens when a nurse fails in this duty.
Taken out of context it s easy to condemn Nurse Rivers for blindly following
doctors orders to the detriment of hundreds of lives. However, to learn from her
mistake, we must fully understand why she acted in the manner that she did. If we
take a moment to consider the fact that she was a black woman born into a certain
generation, it s a bit easier to understand her perspective.

Essay on Welafre reform
Welfare Reform vs. Employment: A Permanent Solution or a Temporary Band Aid?
Welfare: handouts to the lazy, or a helping hand to those facing hard times? The
debate continues, even in the face of sweeping welfare reform, which, for all of its
sound and fury, has not helped or changed much. What s wrong with welfare and how
can we fix it? This is not a simple question, and there is no simple answer. However,
one thing remains eminently clear. Welfare desperately needs to change. But where
are we now? Directly correlated with welfare is work. Welfare reform would not be
complete without work options and job training programs in place so that recipients

It originally included several other programs, which have been incorporated into
the others over time. The Social Security Act was meant to help Americans who
had been hurt by the Great Depression get back on their feet during hard economic
times. Even critics of the Act never imagined how far reaching its programs would
become. Critics did, however, say that the entire Act was a breeding ground for
waste, fraud, and misuse. Roosevelt answered them by saying, quot;Better the
occasional faults of a government that lives in the spirit of charity, then the
constant omissions of a government frozen in the ice of its own indifference.
quot; Indeed, the Social Security Act was originally created in the spirit of charity.
For quite some time, AFDC accomplished its mission to allow single mothers who
had been widowed or deserted by their husbands to stay at home and raise their
children. However, much has changed since 1935. No longer are single mothers
pitied for their predicament. Instead they are blamed for getting pregnant too soon
and for having babies that they knew they could not afford. No longer are women
expected to stay home with their children. Instead they are urged to go to work in
order to provide for their children and become better role models. Those women
who claim that it is too hard to work and raise children are often scorned by the

The best compliment that somebody can make to another person is to say, You look
fantastic . It means that the job that somebody did with his outfit is successful, and he
succeed in impressing others. This compliment about the overall outfit, is even better
than hearing about a specific part of the outfit, for example, the shoes, or a bag, or a
coat... This compliment means that the person s attire was successfully combined,
with his self confidence making the person look fantastic. It s especially important
when making a first impression. Because when first meeting someone a good
impression will be made. In a person s life there s a very important and significant
step, which may influence their whole life, this step is to find a good job. It means
that people should be

chance, so a person has to be very concerned about it. It s when first impressions
are made as well. According to CNN s reports about what employers demand from
people who went to the job interview, we can see that how we dress says a lot about
us, and it forms an employer s opinion and decides our future in the company
(CNN.com/living). A company may not have a particular dress code, but they would
like to see people working in appropriate and suitable clothes; the employers want to

Buy Custom Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "Buy Custom Essay" can pose a considerable challenge, as it requires navigating a delicate balance between promoting the idea of purchasing custom essays while addressing potential ethical concerns. The intricacy lies in presenting a nuanced perspective that acknowledges the practicality of acquiring custom essays while highlighting the importance of academic integrity. Firstly, the writer must delve into the reasons why individuals opt to buy custom essays, exploring factors such as time constraints, complex topics, or language barriers. • 2. Essay On Big Cat Public Safety Act A woman flees from authorities with her collection of tigers, monkeys, a fox, and a skunk and her 14 year old daughter who was living under the same roof as the wild animals. A California couple, whose escaped pet tiger prowled neighborhoods for weeks before finally being shot and killed by authorities, quickly packed their things up and fled with the rest of their big cat collection in tow. What does these two as well as dozens of other cases all have in common? The people all wind up in one state, Nevada. While 45 out of the 50 states that make up America have laws forbidding people from owning exotic wildlife there are five that have no such rules. Like Nevada the four other states Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Wisconsin have no standards nor statewide laws restricting private possession of dangerous wild animals. You would think someone who is willing to go through all the trouble and expense to obtain a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The federal government needs to act immediately to protect both the animal and the general public. The government needs to pass the Big Cat Public Safety Act. It passage will prohibit unqualified morons from possessing and breeding big cats, bolster weak laws in states that have them, and fill any gaps in states like Nevada who just lost their damn minds and never passed any legislation on wildlife ownership.. Until the state takes action, there can only be two outcomes. The Big cat act gets passed or there will be a massacre in which a loose hungry Tiger, Leopard or Lion escapes from it s backyard pens and kills a few kids and then the politicians will pass the act as well as passing the blame for not passing it
  • 3. Taking a look at the Movie Precious The movie Precious is revolves heavily on the severe outcomes of life and how the sever sufferings that some suffer can really effect one s mental status. The main character of the movie is Claireece Precious Jones, referred to as Precious, a 16 year old girl who has lived through a life of abuses with her abusive mother Monique and step father Rodney; sufferingat a very young age from both her parents. In the movie, Precious lives in a ghetto in Harlem New York surviving on welfare from an unemployed mother and her first child. Precious among other problems from an abusive lifestyle, has critical eating disorders and finds comfort in constant eating. The movie is based on the novel Push by Sapphire (Albers, 2009). Precious faces ceaseless abuses from her mom. According to Albers, Precious s mother, did not protect her from her father s abuse, who constantly molested her and her mother forced her to have sex with her step father which resulted in her getting pregnant twice. Mom rather aided the abuse in so many ways. One through food. She intimidates Precious into preparing greasy, fatty foods for her. She brutally makes Precious eat even when she doesn t feel like. Making her daughter fat helps her secure herself causing other to reject her. Also, her fatness causes her to hate her daughter more, who she is resentful of her for many reasons. Avoiding Precious from controlling her own hunger is another way of abusing Precious body and disrespect her personal
  • 4. Barno s Role In The Military After reading these pieces it was easy to speculate that the authors are of adult age with some degree of higher education based off of the fact their work is published as a respected opinion. The authors either mentioned attending prestigious events or schools. Rini, attended Georgetown University, and I can suspect Barno, is military affiliated by his mentions to the event of for governor, Tom Ridge, and his extensive knowledge on the military. I would assume the authors range anywhere from early forties to early fifties. This can be supported by mentions such as, when Goldberger states, I don t miss the age when phone charges were based on distance... (4) and the fact he mentions the old telephone exchanges which were discontinued in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As for in A New Moral Compact, Barno truly moved me by making a case worth defending and giving some serious consideration. When Barno questions the audience , ...where is the moral hazard the personal equity stake that shapes our collective judgement (17) personally, I took a moment and really reflected on his argument. This leads me to say he was successful in his intended purpose due to having me take carefully consideration not just in his claim but in the logistics of our present military. Finally, in the piece written by Rini, I can understand her points and she clearly states her audience while closing her point by asking, ...does continuing to apply the name of such a person express our values, rather than the values of a gone generation? (24). By asking this she narrows her audience to those specifically in today s generation asking them to involve themselves in such ideas and thoughts. Rini s main focus is convincing you to be an active voice by moving, you to agree, as an act of civic love (25). The readings all address current issues despite whenever they were written it still holds true and successfully engaged me in critical thought. When questioning the credibility of the authors, I took into account if the material was up to date and if the author s opinions had merit. Since we were told to do this discussion without researching them I focused
  • 5. Major Challenges of Organizational Management MAJOR CHALLENGES OF ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT There are a number of differences between FMC s Aberdeen and Green River, the two facilities of discussion. One may assume, therefore, that managerial styles, business practices, and other aspects of business and the employees involved, would be very different from one another. On the other hand, it is quite possible to use very similar styles of doing business and managing a company, despite differences in the company, as a good style of managing, and good practices would assist any business in succeeding. Management, employees and productivity being the main focus s at hand, one may first want to review these differences between the two facilities. To begin with, the facility in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Good communication between all management levels and employees is also necessary in keeping any business running efficiently. Again, seeing as how the Aberdeen facility has already established these practices, and has them running smoothly, they need only to maintain them and increase innovation with the times. If I were to use an analogy to describe these two types of managerial styles, I would state that the original style of managing was like a pyramid, and this new style of managing was a linked chain. The pyramid is dependent on all of its members, but there is a definite sense of superiority, as the higher management levels shrink down in numbers, but tower over all else. This pyramid, upon producing positive results, is viewed by others as having produced them due to the excellence of the peak of the pyramid, with very little or no recognition at the bottom of said pyramid. The linked chain on the other hand, though still managed with upper and lower levels, reacts more as a team, giving those involved more recognition for their accomplishments. People who are recognized as such, and appreciated for their individual strengths, may be more likely to utilize these strengths and feel that they are a part of the company, rather than a pawn of the company. There is something very positive to be said for this type of thinking, if everyone on the Earth felt
  • 6. Essay On The Progressive Era Part I: The United States in Latin America since the Spanish American War of 1898 American historians commonly refer to the period between the 1890s and the end of the First World War as the Progressive Era (Cocks, Holloran, Lessoff, 2009, vii). The Progressive Era is mostly associated with the presidencies of Republican heads of state Theodore Roosevelt (1901 09) and William Howard Taft (1909 1913) but also, with Democrat Woodrow Wilson (1913 21). It is generally remembered as a time of political reforms and of governmental desire to tackle social evils and inequality. The Progressive Era also embraced an important foreign policy agenda. Following the U.S. crushing victory in the Spanish American War of 1898 under William McKinley, the United States began a new chapter in its relationship with Latin America. While some would see an inherent contradiction between Progressive values and the U.S. expansionism that arisen in Latin America (and in the Pacific), such paradox was not necessarily apparent to Washington. As argued by historian Lester D. Langley (2002), despite their profound political differences, Roosevelt, Taft and Wilson agreed that the government played a powerful role in advancing hemispheric trade and in safeguarding U.S. investment (p. xvii). Scientific racism, pre conceived notions about Latin American and non whites countries inferiority and the need to expand American financial enterprises made it easy for U.S. officials to reconcile ideals about

In society, individuals who emerge successful is a result of obtaining an education. However, it is multiple factors that allow a person to be successful and not solely one. Success is not one dimensional. An additional element that plays a role in the determination of successis life experiences. A combination of both obtaining an education and obtaining personal life experiences are important in creating the most valuable and successful people in society. The film Chop Shop revolves around the story of Alejandro Polanco, a 12 year old boy from Queens. Alejandro, or Ale, is an orphan who has dropped out of school very young. Izzy did not finish her education since she only finished her first year of high school. Despite being older, Izzy acts like a child and Ale is the sensible sibling that plans for the future. Her disregard for responsibility puts Ale in compromising situations that can potentially ruin their life style. His oldest brother volunteered to fight in the war but died of heat exhaustion and sickness at the Battle of Stono Ferry. Unlucky for Andrew, Charles Dickinson was one of the best shots around! And, when the day of the duel came, they both showed up and squared off. Andrew Jackson wore a big coat to make it harder to know where his chest was. But, his big coat was no match for Charles and he shot Andrew two inches from his heart. Examples Of Crooks In Of Mice And Men Just as Havisham and Curley s wife s isolation is because of their gender, Crooks in Of Mice and Men is presented as the epitome of the frustration and loneliness caused by isolation. However, Crooks s isolation is not due to his gender, but his colour and race. In Of Mice and Men , Steinbeck presents Crooks as an isolated character due to his race. He names Crooks as Crooks because he has a crooked back and he is called Nigger implying that he is unimportant. Steinbeck portrays Crooks s loneliness through this is just a nigger talking a bust back nigger. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the poem Hitcher , Armitage examines the disappointments of the speaker who is about to lose his job and who is under pressure conforming to society s expectations, and his frustration with life. Armitage portrays the theme of isolation using some lexical choices which carry negative connotations such as tired , fired , under the weather , emphasizing the amount of pain he suffers from being threatened with losing his job and not having any purposes in life. Armitage adopts a defeated and frustrated tone to illustrate the frustration, isolation and anger which contribute to the speaker s internal sufferings. The defeated, frustrated tone of the speaker in the poem is presented through a series of lexical choices which carry connotations of negative emotions. These words form a semantic field of frustrated emotions and the reason why the writer has done this is to try to suggest that the speaker is very disturbed and threatened. I d been tired evokes sympathy from the readers. It is colloquial which underlines realism with a lack of imagery in the poem. Under the weather can be inferred as the speaker not feeling well. It doesn t only mean that he doesn t feel well in a physical way, it also implies that he mood is not very good, echoes with I d been tired and fired . These aren t convincing, though weather has an

Dementia and Alzheimer s Research Analysis Paper Dementia and Alzheimer s Research Analysis Paper Part 1: Introduction The topic I am writing about is memory loss or more specifically: Dementia and Alzheimer s disease. Modern medicine has improved significantly in the last decade and the average human lifespan has been extended. However, since humans are living longer, there is also an increased susceptibility for chronic diseases as opposed to infectious diseases. A chronic disease that is slowly on the rise is Alzheimer s, as it is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. This topic is important to me because I ve had numerous encounters with patients with dementia and have seen the impact it has on many families and friends. Additionally, the brain is arguably... Plaques and tangles are the two structures that are suspected for the damage of nerve cells. Plagues are deposits that build up between neurons and tangles build up inside the neurons. Most people develop these abnormal obstructions as they age, but those with Alzheimer s have a tendency to develop much more. My basic knowledge of Alzheimer s and dementia comes from my work experience and from my classes. • 12. The Growing Prevalence Of Cultural Tourism In determining a business opportunity, two main problems have been identified. The first problem arises from the growing prevalence of cultural tourism; modern tourists are more concerned with immersing themselves in the cultural context of their destination than ever before (Richards, 2007). Travellers are wanting to see more than just the sights there is an emerging desire to meet local inhabitants and experience what life is like for them (Smith, 2009). The problem that arises from this is that it can be difficult for travellers to meet locals and experience the culture beyond that which can be found in the guidebook. Additionally, these kinds of experiences can be expensive and difficult to organise. The second problem that has... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cooks can be defined as locals with culture understanding and openness to foreigners. This can be broken into two main market segments; stay at home parents and retirees. Both of these market segments have access to the resources and means (including time and motivation) necessary to prepare and share meals with visiting travellers. Clients can be defined as travellers with the desire to meet locals and experience local culture. This customer group is captured effectively in two market segment segments: young travellers (aged 18 to 25) and middle aged (aged 25 to 50) travelling couples. Both of these segments represent individuals who are generally open to new experience and are more likely to want to engage in the culture of their destinations. 2.0 Business Opportunity Assessment 2.1 Industry/Market Feasibility Analysis Given that primary function of AirMeals is to facilitate communication for travellers, it is evident that AirMeals is predominantly situated in the travel and tourism

However, immigrants continue to support Canada s immigration quo and international organizations glorify Canadian immigration policy. Metropolitans in canada were attractive to immigrants because they had the ability to better their lifestyle as cities in Canada began industrializing which provided more sources for employment. The economy flourished with grand international immigration that primarily favoured British and European immigrants until 1980 s when the government led the admission of more ethnic cultures. Canada was therefore named a mosaic for particularism. As multiculturalism became tolerant, metropolitans such as Toronto and vancouver expressed diversity. Cultural appreciation aided the acceptance of political difference. Three Main Factors Leading To The Fall Of Mayan Civilizations Mayan civilization, as one of the most dominant indigenous societies throughout the history, has never been forgotten either by historians or normal people. With its vigorous development, an era of Golden Age began during the Classic Period. However, once untouchable, Mayan civilization crashed in such a short time as if it had never appeared before. The collapse of Mayan civilization is like a mystery for historians today, so they never give up searching for evidence that caused the dramatic reversal in history. Since there was not a decisive cause led to the fall of Mayan civilization, three main factors possibly could bring about the Maya collapse contemporarily: drought, warfare between city states, and overpopulation. Foremost, drought plays a dominant role in leading to the fall of Mayan civilization. Drought has always been connected with a part of extinction because the living environment is one of the most crucial points for survival. For those regions suffered from a water shortage, the lack of rain and repeated crop failures make it entirely impossible for farmers, which accounts for 90 percent of the population, to make a living. We predicted that darkling beetle abundance and diversity would be higher in tamarisk bosques due to higher leaf litter and detritus compared to habitats without tamarisk. To examine this hypothesis, we conducted pitfall trapping and observational encounter surveys in three different settings: native high desert, tamarisk thicket and a common garden plot. We found two patterns. 1. Darkling beetleabundance was higher in native habitats compared to the tamarisk and common garden habitats. 2. Darkling beetle diversity was higher in the native habitats compared to the tamarisk and common garden habitats. These results suggest that the introduction of invasive tamarisk negatively affects the distribution and diversity of darkling beetles, and that management practices may not remediate the change. Detachment is another experience that is seen in Precious. Detachment is defined by Science Daily (n.d) as an inability to connect with others on an emotional level, as well as a means of coping with anxiety by avoiding certain situations that trigger it . Another way of thinking of this is a lack of physical emotion during a situation (R. Stensrud, lecture, February 21, 2017). An example of this would be when her father rapes her. Precious shows no physical emotion during this time. She lies there and slips into her fantasy world. The same thing occurs when the boys in the alley way shove her down onto the sidewalk. Instead of fighting back, she lays on the ground and goes into this numbing state, letting her mind slip into this fantasy world where she is dancing on a stage in front of everyone. By refusing to feel anything and blocking out the traumatizing event, she is better able to cope with her negative experiences in life. Last but not least, dissociation is clearly present in Precious. Dissociation is defined by betterhealth.vic.gov.au as a mental process of disconnecting from one s thoughts, feelings, memories, or sense of identity. We see this each time that

Television Cultures Television Cultures Reflective posts Part one: Dead set 2008 The week one screening of film Dead Set, a horror drama film created by Charlie Brooker and directed by Yann De mange chronicles a nightmare scenario in which Britain is taken over by Zombies. It is essentially a spoof on reality television that depicts both the inside and outside worlds of the UK s version of Big Brother. The film explores the parallels between zombies and contemporary reality television. Zombies represent the darker side of human nature (Gadsby, 2011), coinciding with the idea that reality television has the power to destruct and generate conceptions that construct the way society thinks. Brookers film looks at the power of media influence. It reflects the ideology of the modern day society, where people have become to consumed in media and just like zombies have their minds set on one thing. This can follow the idea of the Hypodermic Needle Theory, established by Harold Lasswell in 1920s, which assumes audiences are passive, and homogenous. The theory assumes that the media s message is a bullet fired from the media gun into the viewers head (Berger, 1995). Furthermore, the worlds bullet and needle are used to show the powerlessness of the audience as media impacts public opinion and behaviour change. There are two sources of drinking water, surface water and ground water and they are each managed, monitored and regulated differently even though the actual water systems are interrelated and integrated. The state of Missouri has historically had plenty of high quality fresh water sources; in the northern half of the state most of the drinking watercomes from surface water while the majority of the southern population gets water from underground aquifers (Missouri Department of Natural Resources, 2010). The contamination was ultimately found to be Escherichia coli 0157:H7 commonly referred to as E. coli or EC0157. Investigations by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Missouri state and county public health departments determined the most probable source of contamination was leakage of sewage near broken water main lines that then entered the drinking water distribution system (Swerdlow et al, 1992). According to the report by Swerdlow et al (1992), this particular incident had the distinction of being not only the largest incidence of EC0157 infection at that time but also the first due to a multiple resistant organism, and the first documented to be transmitted by water (Swerdlow et al, 1992, p. 818). Testing of water taken directly from the wells in Cabool revealed the water contamination did not occur in the ground water itself but was initiated in and then distributed via the water supply system. The Cabool contamination could have been prevented had the town followed the recommended standard procedure of hyperchlorination immediately after water line breaks or repairs (Swerdlow et el, 1992). It is common for water systems to have small leaks but they usually do not result in contamination as the positive flow of water pressure prevents inward infiltration of the system but when there are breaks in the lines and pressure is lost, contamination can flow back into the water lines.

There are a great many things in the long history of our chosen field to be proud of ranging from the advancements made by Florence Nightingale to the support the nursing community gave to Kelly Johnson following her two minute speech during the 2015 Miss America Pageant. With that being said, there have been a few mistakes along the way. One such mistake involves the role that the infamous Nurse Rivers played in the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. Today, we know that nurses have an ethical duty to intervene when an unethical practice is found, both for the safety of the patient and the integrity of the title RN. Nurses may have difficulty intervening with unethical practices of a doctor because of the negative effects it may have on the working relationship. However, after reviewing what occurred within the Tuskegee study, we ve seen what happens when a nurse fails in this duty. Taken out of context it s easy to condemn Nurse Rivers for blindly following doctors orders to the detriment of hundreds of lives. However, to learn from her mistake, we must fully understand why she acted in the manner that she did. If we take a moment to consider the fact that she was a black woman born into a certain generation, it s a bit easier to understand her perspective. (Insert Timeline Here!)
