2. My idea
• I am going to create a magazine that’s based on pop
music including the latest chart toppers, new singles
released, also with a section on un-signed artists.
• Its going to be more of a grown up magazine and more
mature than the ones that are around currently.

• There are many types of institutions who could be
interested in producing my magazine.
• However I have chosen Bauer Media Group as they
produce magazine similar to the one that I will be
making.
• I believe that as my magazine will be similar to the ones
they already produce, yet different producing to increase
the sales in magazines creating a larger profit.

5. My Target Audience
• The target audience I’m going for is people with near enough the same
taste in music as myself. This could be anyone, however I’m aiming it at the
age range of 16-20 years of age, and both male and female.
• This audience is most likely to be in the C1, C2, D and E categories of the
demographic groups.
• This is because they’re most likely to be full-time students, students who’ve
got a small job on the side of their education, young adults starting out with
a low income.
• This group, especially students would have more money to spend on
magazines as they don’t need to pay bills or manage finances unlike most
people as they’re living at home with their parents.
• My target audience is going to be a little aspirers but mainly mainstream.

• Besides music, other interests for my target audience would be,
going to the cinema to watch the latest films that have been
released.
• Going shopping would be a big interest particularly for the females,
keeping up with the latest fashion trends from New Look, Dorothy
Perkins, Topshop, River Island and House of Fraser.
• Playing on the Xbox or PlayStation, games like Fifa, Call of Duty
and Minecraft.
• Sports, both playing and watching. Whether it be football, rugby,
cricket.

8. Magazine style
• The style of my magazine is going to be quite natural, which will be
reflected in the colour palette. Black, white and a few neutral colours
such as blues, greens, purples which appeal to both genders in the
target audience. These colours also complement each other.
• The mode of address will be formal with informal aspects to it
making it easy to read, but still with that professional feel to it.

9. Possible names
• Possible names for my music magazine are:
 Rewind
 Unplugged
 Tunes
 Amplify

10. Music genres and extras
included in my magazine
• My music genre is pop music, however it’s slightly more
grown up and sophisticated.
• Extras that will be included in my magazine are:
 Fashion news
 Latest gig/concert events dates

11. House style
• My house style is going to be quite relaxed and simple.
I’m going to have neutral colours to resemble the relaxed
theme but also the maturity of the magazine.
• I’m going to have fonts that work well with my magazine
topics and that they correspond with the house style.

12. Double page spread
• My double page spread will include news and interviews
with a new and fast rising band.
• It’ll include the ins and outs of their story and newest
music released.
