The document discusses the design of a magazine cover and double-page spread about the video game "The Long Dark." The designer chooses the colors red and blue for the cover to represent ownership and match the game's theme. Two fonts are selected - one for the main title to stand out and another for scattered information. Photos from the game will be used along with Photoshop, Word, and PowerPoint. Potential issues like copyright, accessibility, and safety are considered with solutions provided. An 8-day schedule is outlined for tasks like gathering images, design testing, production, and review.
2. Style sheet
For my cover and double page spread i will
be using the colours red and blue. Blue
because of how it matches the theme of the
game that i am talking about (the long dark)
and because of this it will have a bigger effect
on the audience and will look more
appealing to them. However I have chosen to
use the colour red to represent that this
magazine is owned by me. I have also chosen
to do red because of how it stands out and
contrasts the colour blue meaning that the
cover will stand out more to people who
walk past my product. For my cover I will be
using two different fonts, one font for my
main title will be this (1.) because it stands
out and helps to get the audiences attention,
this will also be my main font that symbolises
that this magazine is mine. I will also be using
this font (2.) for the information that is
scattered across my magazine cover because
I think it matches the theme and doesn't look
similar to the main title meaning that it
doesn't take any attention away from it.
1.
Text I will be using for the information2.

6. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
loss of work back up work in multiple locations
my magazine might get copyright claimed
because of it being similar to and existing one
when making my magazine only use original
designs that I have thought of
My magazine might have colours that effect
people who are colour blind
don’t use the colours Red and Green on the
same page or near each other when making my
cover or double page spread
cant find the right image that I want for the
background.
go on the game or ask a friend with the game to
get the image from the game itself
My magazine might have a chance to have
offensive material in it
When putting information on the double page
spread and cover make sure to stick to things
about the game because when creating the
game they will have already made sure not to
offend anyone
When getting images off the internet I could get
copyrighted
make sure that I use advanced search to bring
up images that I cant get copyrighted for
7. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Spending too much time on a computer could
strain your eyes
Take regular breaks throughout the proses of
making the product
When using the camera in wet weather could
cause the camera to get damaged or harmed
Try plan to go out on days where it doesn’t rain
Dangerous when taking pictures near cliff side,
in forest etc.
Bring a friend with you in case anything
happens
Back ache from using college computers for too
long etc.
Can be avoided by moving around frequently
and adjusting seat to the proper position.
Stress caused from rushing work, not allocating
time, etc.
Create a strict schedule that helps to organise
when to do work, what to do and when by.
Feeling un-well (becoming dehydrated, not
eating, etc)
Take regular breaks to make sure that you’re
getting everything your body needs.
