2. Style sheet Text
I chose this style of text for consideration
to go on my poster as I feel like this style
of text is very dramatic so it could attract
the consumers towards the poster as it
would draw their attention.
Colour
I chose these colour palettes because they
are dramatic colours. When I was doing my
research on video game posters these were
the main colours I always found being used.
These colours always managed to grab my
attention to the poster and want to analyse
them fully. Therefore I believe that if I use
some of these colours on my own poster
people that look at it will hopefully be just
as captivated by it like I was during my
research.
Text
Here is a whole different range of font
styles, I also noticed that all of these fonts
were also being used on posters I found
during my research. Therefore I decided to
chose these fonts as they are well know by
gamers and are also again quite dramatic
and that is what I am going for.
3. Layout 1
I have outlined the border
as white because that’s
what it will be on the
poster.
Main character(s) will be placed in
the centre.
The main character or
characters will be placed
in the centre of the poster,
they will be silhouettes
however, so I will be able
to place the characters
inside each other.
The empty space
between the border
and the main
character(s) will be
coloured in but the
colour will be
chosen carefully to
go with the plot or
mood of the game.
Border
The empty space around
where the main
character(s) silhouette will
be coloured but the colour
will be carefully chosen to
represent the tone of the
game
I will create the game title
and character silhouettes
myself, I am going for a very
dramatic feel for my poster
as it will draw in consumers,
during my research I also
noticed that lots of posters
that used silhouettes are
dramatic, you can also tell
the plot through the poster,
that is what I am aiming to
do with my poster.
Dramatic
colour
Character(s) will be drawn in
silhouettes
I will be using dramatic
colours to intrigue
consumers of video games, I
will use dark colours when
highlighting certain features
of the poster, then I will use
lighter colours to highlight
other features, for example
a bad character in the
poster will be in dark
colours, a good guy in the
poster will be highlighted in
bright colours
4. Layout 2
The main character will be placed
in the centre of the poster
The main character will be
placed in the centre of the
poster looking directly at the
consumer to draw them in to
the poster. The character will
be staring directly at the
consumer.
Around the character will be an
action scene taking place,
explosions in the background,
some destroyed buildings,
anything to attract consumers but
staying in the ASA guidelines to
not offend or frighten anyone, for
example not having blood or dead
bodies in the poster.
6. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
What if my work gets deleted or the computer
crashes ?
Make sure to back to up my work on a memory
stick or on cloud storage.
What if I can’t find a certain colour or silhouette
on the internet ?
I will have to change the colour I was going to
use to something else and make a silhouette
myself if I cannot find it.
What if the computer I am using doesn’t have
Photoshop ?
Find and use a different computer that has
Photoshop.
What if Photoshop crashes and I haven’t saved
my work ?
Save every time I add something new or
change something. Take screenshots so I always
know what I am doing.
7. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Eye strain I will make sure to take five minutes breaks
when my eyes start to feel strained.
Headaches I will make sure to have water with me so I can
stay hydrated and not have a headache.
Hand Cramps I will make to stretch out my hands so they do
not get cramped.
