INTRODUCTION
All of us senior students that took this thesis class have one thing on our minds,
that this will be the hardest, the most expensive, the most time consuming, and the
most friendship-wrecking thing that college life has to offer. But, all will be endured since
it’s our ticket to graduation. And yes, with that thought we didn’t stop, we didn’t give up,
we showcased the best of us.
Everyone was struck in fear, everyone wants to go and get it over with, and at
the same time everyone just wants the day to end without feeling anything. We were in
a room, we were talking, having fun, going crazy and if you saw us it was like we
weren’t preparing for something big.
Capturing moments took over the day. Most of us prefer taking photos rather
than to review. It’s like some sort of mantra to get rid of the bad vibes and just embrace
the day like it’s an ordinary Saturday. Each group had its own thing, some went out and
had launch someplace else, some went and played computer games, some were still
fixing their thesis, some just arrived, and some stayed and continued to chit-chat and
take photos.
Personally, we never really pressured ourselves too much over this. We just
wanted to feel the excitement, the nervousness of standing in front of the panellists, and
put on a show our prowess in speaking.
LEARNING EXPERIENCE
The things that we’ve learned that day were the things that we would never
acquire during class discussions.
First and foremost, we’ve learned how to handle pressure. We dealt with
pressure like it was an enemy on offense, charging through our base and ready to
wreak havoc. We’ve learned to cover up one’s weakness. We didn’t feel angry nor feel
hate towards weakness, instead we gave each other a helping hand.
Moreover, we valued time. We used to procrastinate, we used to just waste our
time doing ridiculous things. But during the past month, we’ve used our time effectively;
each passing second was precious, and significant.
And lastly, we appreciated each other’s idea. We respected each other’s opinion.
Yes, we argued a lot, but that didn’t stop us. Our complete work wouldn’t have been the
way it is if only one of us did the job. It wouldn’t be the same.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
 It provides us an opportunity to demonstrate about our work in a professional
manner.
 It develops student’s abilities to manage time, finish complex projects and work
independently.
 Students can gain confidence in discussing their work with able and informed
individuals.
CONCLUSION
To conclude, we have proved to the panellists, to our adviser, and to ourselves
that we are indeed versatile. That all marketing students are not trash, that all of us are
smart, that all of us are reliable, that all of us push through to reach the goal that needs
to be done.
The Oral Defense was an experience we’ve never really had. Yes, it was like
reporting during normal class hours, however if you really see through it was so much
more than just talking in front or reading your presentation or your cards. It was this
marvellous moment were you were given an opportunity to showcase your knowledge,
that there were people in front of you waiting to be impressed and amazed.
We’re feeling it, the clock ticks, that time is slowly whispering “graduation”. A few
more run, a few more effort, a few more hard work, a few more endurance of waking up
during early classes, and a few more struggle, soon it’ll all pass.
The Oral Defense was like a scream that vitalized us, it didn’t weaken us. It was
a vigor. It was point in our lives that we have survived.
We know that we did a good job and it was truly wonderful that one of the
obstacles that we have to go through just to graduate is finally over.
