Evaluation

On the day of our actual presentation we started the day with a positive point.
This was that Khatra bought all the refreshments for our audience. After words we
had to follow the tasks list that was allocated to each and everyone of level ones
to accomplish on the actual day. For everyone this was easy because the only had
to get on with their tasks: edit the script, edit the PowerPoint, edit the handouts
and do the final touches on the unaccomplished tasks. For me this was very hard
and I struggled a lot. This is because I created a material list 1 or 2 weeks earlier
than our actual day of the presentation and those materials will be needed to
arrange the venue. Even though it was the actual day of our presentation the
materials were not there. I was so annoyed I didn’t know how to react to this
situation, because I was so angry and annoyed I had to take a moment to relax
and get over myself. Afterwards I had to discuss with my group what are the quick
actions I’m going to take in terms of arranging the venue. Then I decided to use
blue tack and white A3 paper which the music department had to cover up only
the walls which had drawings and dark colors in them. To complete this tasks
Logan helped because he finished his tasks. Covering up the walls were not that
hard we got it done in an 45min. Afterwards I couldn’t hang the pictures of the
process which I laminated and mounted on the corridor so I had to think what I
had to do about it.
The next lesson we had to start rehearsing our PowerPoint so we know what we
are doing and we will be confident about what we are going to present. When we
were rehearsing our presentation we realised that the script was not that brilliant
and it made it sound like it was prepared in advanced which detracted from the
natural side of speech so we had to improvise which made it sound so much better
and professional. Also we figure out that some people of our team have poor

clarity of speech so we had to work on it. Lastly because of this rehearsal we
discovered a lot of good thinks and bad things about our presentation.
After school we had a little break of 15 minutes. In those 15min we have to get
done a lot of tasks. I decided that I’m going to hang the laminated and mounted
images of the process in the class room where we are going to present our
presentation. It was a bit hard because every time I stapled the images to the wall
it kept coming off but I still had to finish it off. Khatra had to arrange the
refreshments, Logan were setting up the power point. Marie and Rajan organized
the handouts in the tables. Before that we all prepared the tables for the
presentation. In the end we finished everything on time.
The audience started arriving on time. We were so nervous in the beginning but I
felt it fading away when I saw the happy and excited faces of our audience. We
started the presentation and it floated very well. When we were presenting the
presentation then we had a little issue which was the images of the process I
hanged up fell down which was also quite distracting. But we didn’t want it to be a
distraction so we carried on with our presentation. At the end of our presentation
we asked our audience if they have any questions and some people came up with
good questions and we answered them according to what we knew and we
answered them from the best we could. After finishing our presentation we gave
them quantitative and qualitative questionnaires to fill in.
Overall I think even though we had ups and downs we still completed our challenge very well
and from the best we could, because we had a lot of good feedback from students and
teachers. I also gained a lot of experience on presenting, researching, working as a team and
also problem solving.
