1. Unit 13 – Planning and Pitching a Print based Media Product – Production Plan Template
Week beginning: Monday 16th
November 2015
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
Pre-Production Production:
The date for this
publication is
decided for a
month. Based on
my magazine of
inspiration
(VIBE) I plan for
the magazine to
be released at
the beginning of
every month.
The release date
for the magazine
is set to be very
important. The 1st
issue has been set
on the date for
Tuesday 1st
December. This is
because it
manages to make
the magazine
more festive being
on a holiday.
The whole team
comes together
for the final idea
for the colour
code of the
magazine and
content, which is
going to be used
within the
magazine.
Additionally
illustrations will
be created to help
make the ideas
easier for the
team.
The person who
will create the
content is going to
be decided. This
means that the
team will have
some in-house
writers for each
article and
illustrations will
be dedicated for
helping with
decisions.
Research is
made. The team
will look up a
range of different
artists relevant
to the genre and
purpose to the
magazine. Other
articles will be
considered by
the writers
relevance, and
relate to the
rules of the 16
codes in order to
keep to the right
sort of content
for the magazine.
Contact is made
for people who
we would like to
interview. Image
plan are made
and confirmed.
The contracts
will be sent out
in order to allow
the team to make
the images.
Once all of the
interview
questions have
been relevant
and proofread,
the interview is
conducted with
the artist. This is
through a phone
call, or primarily
by person.

2. Unit 13 – Planning and Pitching a Print based Media Product – Production Plan Template
Week beginning: Monday 23th
November 2015
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
Production: Post-Production
The planned
images have
been taken. They
are edited in
Photoshop later
in the same day.
The interview and
the edited
pictures are
structured into
the magazine. The
other features for
the advertisement
and other articles
are chosen.
The detail for the
magazine is
monitored and
proofread, twice,
for any mistakes
such as spelling,
grammar and
false information.
The Editor,
Designer and
Publisher check
the final layout of
the magazine. It is
important because
it is to be checked
to see if the
content flows well
throughout the
magazine, as well
for space for the
advertisements.
The first hard
copy is printed
out as a
prototype. The
editor and myself
will look over the
final draft of the
magazine to
check for the
final mistakes or
changes to make
(for example, if
the colour of the
magazine has not
printed out the
right shade).
Once the team
has proofread
everything, the
magazine copies
are sent to print.
When all of the
magazines have
been printed,
they will be sent
to a warehouse.
From there, they
will be sorted
and sent to
smaller
distributers in
order to be sold
to the public
(Lorry hire -
£129.99 if
needed).
The magazine is
released on sale
to the public.
VOLUME will
distribute copies
of the magazine
to retail outlets,
where this will
go on sale (for
example
WHSmiths or
Tescos).
