 Who is it going to be?
I am going to take the picture of Rhia for the front cover and the picture of the
double page spread
 What shot types and Angles do they need and WHY?
I will use a close-up for the front cover because that will be bigger on Rhia’s top-
half of her body so it will more eye catching to the viewer and easier to see who
it is
 Lighting – High Key (Bright) or Low Key
I will have a high key lighting setting for the double page spread and high key
lighting type of picture within the front cover because it makes the magazine
look professional to any new viewers
 Effects you intend to apply and WHY?
For the front cover I will use a clear background, this is because then it can make
it easier for the background to be removed and has total focus on Rhia. For the
double page spread, I will also have a plan background to keep the magazine
neat, tidy and professional.

The denotation of the name of magazine is ‘Rhia. Is Fame it’s cracked up to be?’.
The verbal code ‘cracked’ connotes a sense of casual language, which suggests
the type of magazine VOLUME is, and what type of target audience the magazine
is for.
The focus of the DPS will be on answering the question used on the front cover,
but not through the general Q & A, instead it will give a brief overview of the
interview. This manages to make my magazine different to most music
magazines which may be what my target audience want

Casting:
I will use these two images for my double page spread and front cover. I think
these are suitable because my interview is going to be about Rhia (with noticed
bits of her band but not really talked about).
Model requirements:
Rhia will need no props or special requirements, she will just need to dress as
casual as she can that represents her character. This is because the interview is
about what Rhia must face, and that if there were props within the picture (for
example a guitar) it may take away the meaning that I will be putting across to
my viewers. I think she need to look like she is modelling for both pictures as
well because the people that would like her music would want her to be seen like
it a professional interview as this will also be her first interview for a magazine

For Rhia’s clothing, she will need to dress casual, this is
because it will give out the impression that Rhia is the type
of person who likes to be herself, and because of this it
means that Rhia puts a lot of her passion into her music. I
will have her wear a black top for the front cover, then the
same outfit as the front cover but instead wearing a leather
jacket for the double page.
My source of inspiration is from Vibe’s front cover of Nicki
Minaj, who dresses in the way of what type of woman she is,
also the magazine uses colour that not only matches her hair, but makes the
magazine stand out.
Hair and Make-up:
Rhia’s make-up needs to look natural, this is because many other female artists
use natural looking make up to illustrate that they are also passionate about
what they do and to give the impression that what you see is what you get.
Rhia’s hair will be down and not tied up. This again manages to keep the idea
that Rhia’s character is passionate and pure about her music because she doesn’t
need to change the way she looks because that’s not what she or her music is
about.
Where:
I will take the first image for the front cover with Rhia inside with her in front of
a plain wall, this way I can easily crop out the background so I can have only Rhia
at the front cover. The second image will again be in-front of a white background
so then again I can easily cut out the background so I can have Rhia only in the
picture for the double page spread

I’ll be taking my images Wednesday 10th December, during a free period between
9:45 – 10:30
