Evaluation of Impact of Desmopressin and Alpha1 Blocker...
We evaluated the impact of desmopressin and О±1 blocker tamsulosin combined therapy in
treatment of LUTS/BPH patients with noctuia. BPH is a common disorder, which affect about
40% of men older than 50 years. Nocturia is a common manifestation of BPH (6) that is not only
bothersome but can also have a marked impact on sleep patterns and decreases the QoL (9, 10).
Different treatment modalities for LUTS/BPH have been used with success. However,
treatment for nocturia has been reported to be less satisfactory than treatment of other LUTS
and remains one of the most difficult LUTs to treat. Different treatment plans were assessed,
either for nocturia by itself or that occurring in association with BPH. As, BPH is a potential
risk factor for nocturia, О± blockers are considered a potential treatment for nocturia (11). The
О±1 blockers are the most common treatment for LUTS/BPH and all currently available О±1
blockers have similar efficacy and improve symptoms by approximately 35% and Qmax by 1.8
2.5 mL/s (12, 13). Many studies assessed the effect of О±1 blockers, either alone or in combination
with 5 О± reductase inhibitors on nocturia associated with BPH. Tamsulosin OCAS 0.4 was
evaluated in BPH patients with ≥ 2 night voids and was proved to significantly improve the
mean IPSS when compared to placebo (14). However, the reduction in nocturnal voids was
associated with a minimal difference between tamsulosin and placebo with a mean change of 3.1 to
2.0 night voids for tamsulosin and

Statistics Of Clinton County, Iowa
When you the evaluate statistics of Clinton County, Iowa, you can infer the various styles of living
and economic classes of these areas. In Clinton County, Iowa, the middle class has an annual
income between $33,300 and $99,401. As I walked down the streets of Cobblestone Estates in
DeWitt, Iowa and driving through the trailer parks on the outskirts of DeWitt, it is clear to examine
the differences between these two neighborhoods. The three central differences fall into the
categories of economic differences, personal identities, and outdoor appearance s. Cobblestone
Estates, has immense homes where families with much higher incomes reside, compared to the
trailer parks, where families have very low income compared the wealthier families.... Show more

With these homes being manufactured in industrial shops, they are constructed fairly quickly
and can be shipped to a location on one semi trailer. The doublewide trailers require a little more
effort to obtain. Doublewide homes begin at 1,067 square feet and can reach up to 2,300 square
feet. These homes have a width of 20 feet or more and can reach an astonishing 90 feet long.
Although they can get quite large, the most common size is 56 feet long and 26 feet wide. This
totals out to be around 1,456 square feet. Unfortunately, with these homes being wider they have
to be shipped as two separate units and are jointed together seamlessly to create a double wide
home. These homes can be shipped onto the site very quickly and at a low cost compared to
constructing a larger home built in a subdivision. After some research conducted on the U.S.
Census Bureau website, I found the average new home built in 2015 had a square footage of 2,467.
Even though these statistics are the average house size in the Midwest in 2015, Cobblestone
Estates holds houses well over the median square footage in the Midwest. All of this information
within the economic differences category because wealthier families tend to relocate to upper class
neighborhoods, compared to lower class families moving to trailer parks. Although Cobblestone
includes homes larger than the average sized home, this does not mean they are necessarily
wealthier than than the inhabitants in

An Integrated Energy And Environmental Management System...
The manager of an integrated energy and environmental management system is responsible for
allocating carbon emission treatment amount to each carbon emitter within a multi period horizon.
In a regional energy system, there are some limitations for total emission amounts set up by the
emission constraints in certain periods. If carbon emission is larger than the emission target, the
over limit part should be treated by carbon mitigation facilities. In period k, carbon emission
amounts should be no more than the summation of carbon emission permit and the surplus credits
from previous period (k в€’1), in which surplus of emission credits are to be transferable to a
consecutive period (Li et al. 2012). Moreover, carbon emission inventory of different emitters may
vary from each period under the different operating condition, which can be expressed as a random
variable, the study system can be formulated through a MSP approach. Thus, in a MSP model for
carbon emission management system, the objective is to maximize system benefits while satisfying
the total carbon emission requirement. Specifically, the economic objective can be formulated as
follows: пј€1
aпј‰ where are decision variables that are reflected in the objective function and
determined by the capacity of carbon capture measures.
During a certain period, there is a maximum limit for total carbon emission amount (1b) (1c)

Legalization Of Marijuana For Medical Purposes Essay
Legalization of Marijuana for Medical Purposes What is Marijuana?
Marijuana is a kind of drug. Similar to other drugs, it has positive and negative effects which
depends on how much a person intakes. Marijuana refers to the different parts of a plant called
Cannabis Sativa. Marijuana is similar to a cigarette as it is also rolled and smoked. The two main
components of Marijuana are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). Though both
components have positive effects, THC is actually the bad component of Marijuana that makes it
addictive and heavily stimulates the brain while CBD is the component that mostly provides
different good effects.
Along with THC and CBD, Marijuana houses 483 known compounds. These compounds such as
cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), and tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) all have specific
distinctions which lead to several effects. The Cannabis plant was originally intended for medical
use but because of the lack of discipline of the people who use it, it then becomes addictive and
leads to several bad effects such as anxiety, loss of balance, and even death.
Historical Background of Marijuana
The earliest recorded use of marijuana is from Central and South Asia in the 3rd millennium BCE,
wherein there is evidence of inhalation of smoke at an ancient ritual brazier at an ancient burial site
in present day Romania. There is also evidence of cannabis consumption found in Egyptian
mummies dated about 950 BC.

The National Wildlife Federation, or NWF, can be accessed for in depth information via their
interest group website at www.nwf.org. Selection of the National Wildlife Federation, for myself,
was brought forth by my affinity for the outdoors and nature in general. Growing up enjoying
activities such as canoeing, camping, fishing, hiking and boating has allowed myself to gain a
respect for the vastness of our nations wild beauty. Along with this respect comes the aspiration to
pass the joy of the outdoors along to my children and thus I feel diving into the NWF will prove to
be beneficial to our family. Having no prior knowledge of this organization, I am very much excited
about the task of deciphering this entity.
Goals:
For the National Wildlife Federation, their objective is formed around the ideal that our nations
natural habitats and wildlife, along with clean air and water are all things that all Americans have a
right to access. Through conservation efforts the NWF feels the government, along with the nations
citizens, have a duty to conserve and protect our natural resources for current and future

Introduction
Any business organization s goal is to improve its operational performance. Through the
employment of various types of performance measures, firms can assess the efficiency and
effectiveness of their business process objectives. Furthermore, performance measurement tools can

resources can be better managed and distributed to the appropriate ... Show more content on

The BSC takes forethought. It is not a tool you can just think up one night to solve a problem.
Instead, it is recommended that you hold a meeting to plan out what goals you would like to see
your company reach in each of the four above areas. Once you have clearly stated objectives, you
can then begin to break down these objectives in what you will need, financially, to bring these
objectives to fruition. 2. While the BSC gives you an overall view of the four areas for concern in
business growth and development, these four areas do not paint the whole picture. The financial
information included on the scorecard is limited. Instead, to be successfully implemented, the
balanced scorecard must be part of a bigger strategy for company growth that includes meticulous
accounting methods. 3. Many companies use metrics that are not applicable to their own situation.
It is vitally important when using balanced scorecards to make the information being tracked
applicable to your needs. Otherwise, the metrics will be meaningless. 4.

strategic management challenges stem from the areas of implementations; it s obvious from many
financial scandals, and company failures, leading to acquisitions and downsizing, that those firms

The Human Development Index And Gini Coefficient
Despite the fact that Brazil s Gross Domestic Product is one of the highest globally, Brazil still
faces developmental issues in their economy. As Stiglitz has mentioned prior to his overall
research, it is clear to see that Brazil has benefited tremendously from globalization . With a GDP
of $2.346 trillion , this shows the output of goods and services have helped the country bring in
more revenue to help stabilization. Although there is an increase in GDP, both the Human
Development Index and Gini coefficient is still at an all time low despite the growth. Brazils HDI is
ranked seventy five compared to other states (which shows that money is not being distributed in
the proper places because corruption is a still a major issue); the Gini coefficient is another
factor of corruption (52.9 ). Since the GDP is $2.346, you would expect for the income of the
individuals (the Gini coefficient) to be just as high, but in this region, wealth is not being
distributed evenly. In this paper you will see how the transformation from Mercantilism to
Capitalism has effected Brazil, including the extent of government involvement in the economy.
As an illustration, Brazil has had the chance to jump on the boat in comparison to China, and
India as a result of development as mentioned by Collier . As for the notion of the resource curse,
Brazil is not effected much by it now as compared to previous years before. For example, in the
mid 17th century when Brazil was the leading distributor

Jean Jacques Rousseau Social Contract
The Social Contract In ancient times all men lived in a state of nature until hardships and the
necessity to form a civil society between one another became eminent. Jean Jacques Rousseau s The
Social Contract, analyses the steps and reasoning behind this transition. In Rousseau s work he
focuses on several key terms in order to define this transition clearly, they include: state of nature,
social contract, civil society, general will, and the sovereign.
It would be impossible to define the latter terms without first analyzing Rousseau s definition of
state of nature. This has to do with the fact that none of the terms have relevance without the
existence of the state of nature. According to Rousseau, the state of nature is when ... Show more

These social contracts between individuals are the foundations of our modern societies which
include the general will and the sovereign. Though the civil society and social contract do exist
in today s society, Rousseau s state of nature could never be in existence. In reality, it is
impossible to have ever been in a state of nature. This is supported by Rousseau s idea that at
birth, one is born into a society called family. This society is eventually dissolved but children
eventually build a social contract with individuals as they grow up and mature. Furthermore, this
supports the fact that social contracts and civil societies do exist, even when the state of nature
never did. Each day, this is immanent when one forms social bounds with the people around
them. Rousseau s ideas developed from his time period and his life. He was writing this essay
during the French Revolution which is in itself a perfect example of the destruction of a social
contract between a society and its king and turning into a social contract of the general will of the
population to form a new society. Though our time period may be different then those of Rousseau
s, his message will still have a

The Radio And Its Impact On America
In the 1920s there was no ABC news. No sports announcements. No CD players. No television.
Before the 1920s they only had newspapers and live sports. Then, the radio came. In the 1920s and
30s the radio impacted culture by informing the public of news, bringing together America s music
and sports, and even uniting America to stop the Great Depressionand restore faith in government.
The radio was first invented in 1895. At first, people were unaware of the possible uses radios
would eventually have. Twenty five years after the radio was invented, the beginning of commercial
broadcasting radio stations began with the KDKA in Pittsburgh. During that time, the war began
a mass production of radios which let more common households own them instead of radios
being a rich people s toy, as they were considered previously. Radios sales spread as radios were
cheaper and people had more money to spend in the 1920s. By the end of the decade more than
twelve million households owned radios.
Radios changed America through news as people changed from reading newspapers to listening
to the radio starting November 2, 1920, which was more convenient and frequent. Unlike
newspapers, radios could broadcast information live instead of waiting for the next day s paper,
therefore they began to rival the popularity of newspapers (Britannica). People could hear events
immediately and could do so while cooking or doing other activities. This allowed America to be
more informed more efficiently

Oct, 2014 Being a young man raised in a fine castle of the Baron, Candide had no idea of what a
real life is outside of the caste. In that place, he was surrounded by his needs, including his lover
Cundegonde and a great mentor Pangloss. Once he was abandoned from his fine castle, he had
separated from his Cundegone and had to face the brutal life on his journey to find his lover.
However, Candide learned the idea of Pangloss, which is everything is for the best , he faces, hears,

When he is starting to think outside of the box of optimism, he decides to bring twenty
miserable people to his inn and hears them all. After he heard all of them, he says, That Pangloss
would be hard put to prove his system. I wish he were here. Certainly, if everything goes well, it
is in Eldorado and not in the rest of the world. Candide is being pessimistic in this part and it is a
sign he is gaining his insight. Believing against his beliefs must be a hard step, but Candide

##torical Analysis Of Maya Angelou s The Fight She Fought
The Fight She Fought Ariel Worrell Wilkes Community College The Fight She Fought Maya
Angelou s speech (August 31, 2008) at Coretta Scott King s funeral was very successful. She
drivingly outlined the issues that Coretta Scott King fought for throughout her life, Angelou did
so in a way that allowed those listening to feel connected to King. Angelou makes it clear that
King s life was one of great importance. She delivered the information in a relevant and
important way. Her use of relevancy, audience connections, and humor allowed her to deliver
the eulogy meaningfully. Audience Connection is essential when delivering a speech, Angelou
mastered the technique as seen in this speech. Angelou (2008) opens the Eulogy with a popular
hymnal, I open my mouth to the Lord and I won t turn back, no. I will go, I shall go. I ll see
what the end is gonna be. . This allowed her to make a connection with the audience. Many
people knew this hymnal; therefore, they felt as if she is one of them. Angelou (2008) went on to
say Those of us who gather here, principalities, presidents, senators, those of us who run great
companies, who know something about being parents, who know something about being
preachers and teachers those of us.. . Those of us referred to everyone in the audience, Angelou
(2008) was including everyone and in doing so she was making an audience connection. Angelou
(2008) then said we owe something from this minute on; so that this gathering is not just another
footnote on the pages of history. We owe something. . No one wants to believe that their actions
will be forgotten. By this point in the speech Angelou had already made an audience connection
and by doing so has allowed for a call to action. This call to action is a very important part of the
speech because it developed relevancy in a way that was consequential. One tool that Angelou used
while giving the eulogy was relevancy. Following the hymnal, Angelou (2008) begins by saying In
the midst of national tumult, in the medium of international violent uproar.. Violent uproar is all
around, which makes this quote from the speech incredibly relevant. The entire Eulogy by

Natural Selection Lab Report
The sixth lab I completed in Biology 101 taught me how autotrophs (self feeders) and heterotrophs
(other feeders) make organic food molecules by using photosynthesis. Photosynthesis uses the
energy from the sun and it is captured and stored in the chemical bonds of organic molecules. The
sunlight consists of different wavelengths of light. In plant chloroplasts, they have different
pigments that capture different wavelengths of light. Light capturing pigments in green plants are
called chlorophylls and these absorb all the colors of light except green, which is mostly reflected.
To separate molecules from each other according to their solubility in a particular solvent is done
by the process of chromatography. This basically means that polar... Show more content on

Ecology is the branch of biology that studies the interactions of organisms with each other, and with
their physical and chemical environments. Another main topic discussed in this chapter is
ecosystems. Ecosystems are habitats or areas that consists of two basic components. Ecosystems
include such things as biotic and abiotic components. Biotic components are living organisms
within an ecosystem and abiotic components are things like sunlight, temperature, and rainfall.
Within an ecosystem are producer and autotrophs. Producers and autotrophs consist of plants, algae,
and bacteria. These two organisms obtain food from inorganic materials and light energy. As to
where consumer and heterotrophs obtain energy by eating plants or the animals that eat the plants.
An ecosystem is made up of several different parts. Each part of an ecosystem is different from the
other. None of these parts within the ecosystem rely on the other. They are all interdependent being

In the article Law enforcement lessons from Hurricane Katrina it states how the local law
enforcement should take a greater responsibility when planning for a disaster. Law enforcement
at a local level can be considered the first line to a management team. They also know their city,

panic and confusion for civilians as well as, other agencies who provided assistance. By having a

the reasons it is crucial law enforcement personnel receive this type of training is also because of

it impacts the confidence they have on that agency for future disasters. In conclusion, a way to

The Land As A Rival Of The Old Testament s Promise Land
Colonist were attracted to New England as a result of reports that depicted the land as a rival of
the Old Testament s promise land. In a nearly ironic set of ecological blunders the colonist would
drastically transform the land and the way of life of its native inhabitants. In essence their
mercantilist mind set would change the ecology of New Englandthrough trade, deforestation, and
practices associated with livestock. Upon arrival the colonist began to trade with the Indians. The
colonist would supply the Indians with goods such as brass and copper pots in exchange for
animal furs. As their relations with the natives continued colonist realized that the Native
Americans valued trade goods primarily as a status symbol [1]. This observation may have lean
the colonist to begin trading in wampum. Wampum is a strings of white and purple beads which
Native Americans commonly traded amongst themselves. The wampum were a symbol of wealth
and power [2]. The colonial fur traders began collecting vast quantities of this to trade for fur.
Initially they would trade guns and commodities for the wampum [3]. Then trade the wampum for
the desired furs. However, in 1637 a colonial group attacked the Peguots and took the wampum by
force. The colonist considered this to be a safer alternative to trading guns with the natives [3].
Trade with the colonist caused the Native Americans to increase their hunting beyond that which
was necessary for food gathering [4]. They began to hunt purely

Cut In Legal Aid Essay
Cuts in legal aid are causing problems for the ordinary people and leaving them without vital
support because there has been a reform in legal aid, which are the cuts. In this assignment, I
will discuss the two different side of impact of legal aid cuts on the people and how this act has
impacted legal aid. Legal Aid and Advice Act 1949 was the beginning of legal aid, this is the
access to assistance to fight for justice for the ones that cannot afford legal representation and in
need of protection. The state pays the legal professions which are the solicitors and barristers to

the justice system , it s about mentally ill man is not being granted legal aid because he does not
fall into a category that will grant legal aid for him. This is wrong as injustice is happening to
him and his human right is being breach, which then proves that the government is not
protecting the citizens and not carrying out the right responsibilities. Also, present why the
legal aid shouldn t have cuts as now it s become a barrier to justice. Another, problem that legal
aid cuts have raised is parents fighting for custody, if a legal aid service cannot represent one
side, it states how they will struggle without the help of legal aid and then won t get the custody
and which will go to the other parent that s probably not fit to take custody for the kids. For
instance, a mother that is low on income, she won t be able to afford her own representation and
she won t receive legal aid as she s not mentally unstable, this will leave her for litigation, but the

Usefulness And Limitations Of Financial Ratios
Usefulness and limitations of financial ratios in evaluating the performance and management of
companies
Ratio analysis is used to describe the important relationship that lies between figures based on line
items in financial statements like the balance sheet, profit and loss account, and a budgetary control
organization. Ratio analysis is a technique of analysis and interpretation of financial statements. It
helps in evaluating the financial position and performance of the firm, ratio analysis also allows
firms to compare their operational or financial performance to another firm or the industry standard.
This essay will firstly discuss the purpose of financial ratios, its users and how it is applied. It will
then move on to discuss the signification and limitations of ratio analysis. Furthermore, a
discussion about the usefulness of specific ratios will be held using the 2013 annual report of easy
jet. Lastly, my own views on the issues of financial statements, specifically financial ratios will be
presented.
With the help of financial statements that arise by the firm, analytical methods can be used to get
information about the course of the business and the economic state. By calculating a small number
of ratios it is possible to develop a clear picture of the position and performance of a firm (P.Atrill
and E.Mclaney 2013). Financial ratios have two main users, management and inventors.

King Of Rong Analysis
The films King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters and Wreck it Ralph utilizes methods of realist and
formalist aesthetics in their respective films. Realist aesthetics aspire to achieve transparency and
display the content practically, while formalist aesthetics choose to communicate the content
expressively to better serve the story. The realist aesthetics in King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
and the formalist aesthetics in Wreck it Ralph are apparent in the films mise en scene,
cinematography, sound, and performances. Realist aesthetics in King of Kong: A Fistful of
Quarters are applied in the film to emphasize the fact that a true chain of events is being depicted;
realist aesthetics in the film accentuate the true nature of the story in order to emphasize the

diasporic culture oriented novel. As a diasporic novel it represents the diasporic themes like
displaced, dislocated and deterritorised feelings of the first generation expatriates like Ashima
Ganguli, the female protagonist of the novel; assimilated, translational and transcultural tendency
among the diasporic people, especially among the second generation immigrants in the novel like
Gogol Ganguli, Sonali Ganguli and Moushumi Mazoomdar; a feeling of nostalgia towards the
natal/imaginary homeland by the first generation expatriates like Ashima Ganguli; the
community feeling among the diasporic people; the familial, human relationships within a
diasporic family in a diasporic land and other traits. Ashima Ganguli is moored in diasporic land
with her feelings of rootlessness/uprooting/re rooting/tracking root and also finds routes to
discover her at home in many homes in the world. The Bengali diasporic cultures are
amalgamated dexterously in the texture of the novel. Lahiri s The Namesake was adapted as a
film in 2006, released on March 9, 2007, following screenings at film festivals in Toronto and New
York City. The film is directed by an Indian born filmmaker Mira Nair, living in the US. Sooni

Homeless People in the World
Homeless people in the world: what are the reasons for it and what are the methods to solve the
problem. Today it is unfortunately homelessness is very wide and is spreading rapidly around the
world. The causes may be quite different: it can be a high rent for housing, low pay, mental
disability, loss of all family members, etc. When people are in a difficult situation, they need to
survive, they have not so much alternatives, so they go out on the streets and beggingfor money. In
different countries in different ways the government is trying to solve the problem of homeless
people, but the result is still the same. What should we do? How can we help the homeless people?
During the time when people started to do lots of research, about homeless people. Have they

areas, had no jobs, drugs, low education etc. Since we know what the main reasons for homelessness
are and we have the information we need, it may be possible to avoid and help the people in the
beginning before they become homeless.
What I think is that the government must reverse itself more to the people who really need help
in the poor area. And I mean now help them really both material and moral. Trying to solve the
psychological problems which the ex. parents who abuse alcohol, children who are badly in school,

Trophic Fishing Imbalances
First, the alarming environmental issue of trophic fishing causes an imbalance in the ecosystem. To
begin, while fishing at the trophic levels of the ecosystem, the predators of the ocean are
overfished. Predators such as salmon and tuna are fished quite frequently because they are used in
dinners around the world. Clearly then, as the predators rapidly decrease, the primary and
secondary consumers overpopulate. Science News states, We ve eliminated the marine equivalent
of lions and wolves and are moving towards the taking of rats, cockroaches, and dandelion
equivalents. (https://www.sciencenews.org/) Clearly then, when predators are eliminated, the prey
overpopulate. Without any predators to limit population growth, the prey populations are able to
reproduce. Since these populations are not being hunted, their populations need to consume more
food, so the producers are consumed entirely and eventually eliminated, as well. In addition to
imbalances in the ecosystem, trophic fishingalso affects fishpopulations.
Next, trophic fishing affects fish populations. Because of trophic fishing, there are over 75 aquatic
species that are endangered as of 2017. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Frankenstein Pursuit Of Knowledge
Since Mary Shelley s novel Frankenstein is written as a piece of Gothic Fiction, this could create
the illusion that the themes of fear, death, and horror point towards a widespread criticism of
human nature and life. However this is not the case. In many instances, Shelley s work serves the
purpose of comparing and evaluating to what extent her respective protagonists interact with the
various temptations that define her novel. This varied assessment should be considered a critique,
as it provides a widespread analysis, balancing opposing perspectives that contain varied
interpretations of morality. The theme of the pursuit of knowledge is a textbook example of how
Shelley takes a general theme, and redefines it within the context of her novel... Show more content

Proving to be a foil character to the end, Walton learns from Victor s mistakes and returns home
with his crew before it is to late, providing an alternative perspective for Shelley s evaluation of
how the pursuit of knowledge can corrupt the mind. Walton emphasizes how he cannot lead them
unwillingly to danger and must return, (219) not as a means to abandon his purpose but to
reevaluate it entirely. Shelley wants her reader to question if the pursuit of knowledge exists for
the sake of glory or the sake of tranquility, seeing Victor embrace the former while Walton
ultimately embraces the latter. Shelly uses Victor s last words as an evaluation and summary of
his mistakes, highlighting a shift in his tone where he speaks with a defeatists mentality after
having been prideful for so long exclaiming, farewell Walton! Seek happiness in tranquility and
avoid ambition...yet another may succeed. (220) Victor s final words are not only directed at
Walton, but directed at the reader as well. Shelley wants to emphasize the lack of correlation
between tranquility and ambition with the additional example of the Monsters simplistic pursuits
in the back of the reader s mind as well. Victors last words yet another may succeed are the most
direct indication of a critique because they suggest that it is not the pursuit of knowledge that leads
Victor to his deathbed, but instead the way in which he went about attaining it. Ultimately, by
learning from Victor, Walton attains powerful knowledge in the sense that he likely saves his own
life life comes to the understanding there is more more danger to the unknown than good.
Therefore, Shelley critiques the pursuit of knowledge by widening the scope of how it can be
defined, weighing the resolutions of Victor and Walton on

Reasons Why Couples Choose Not To In-Person Therapy
Many couples experiencing relationship distress choose not to seek therapeutic help. Recent
estimates founded that only 19% of intact couples seek any type of counseling or therapy for their
relationship and that only 37% of divorced couples sought any couple therapy prior to divorcing
(Cicila, Georgia, Doss, 2014). Reasons why couplesdecide not to seek treatment are because of the
perceived stigma associated with therapy, financial burden, and logistical concerns, such as
difficulty scheduling appointments or finding transportation to appointments (Cicila et al., 2014).
These findings show couples would rather keep issues between themselves than talk to a therapist

A limitation to this intervention is that it may not be efficient for distressed couples. Especially for
couples dealing with long term issues in their relationship. For couple participating in this form of

internet based intervention does not provide the same level of therapy as in person therapy.
couples may benefit from in person therapeutic intervention more than the on line program.
Couples struggling with the online program may get frustrated which can escalate the distress in
their relationship. Another limitation is due to the fact that therapy is online, couples may not
take the program seriously and not be fully committed. This leads to the program having a low
completion rate and may not be seen as an effective form of therapy. A limitation of the

Marketing Plan for United Airlines
Airline companies are becoming more and more competitive as the low budget discount airlines are
becoming popular. It is key for airlines to differentiate themselves among the various airlines to
choose from, and United Airlines wanted to ensure that it offered products and services for all
marketing segments. United realized that it needed to develop a customer centric future strategy

Like many organizations, United Airlines uses market segmentation to help define the target market
and become a leading choice for airline travelers. United Airline s marketing firm uses
psychographic segmentation, which divides customers according to their lifestyle, as a way to
successfully target specific customers. United Airlines used questionnaires to classify their
potential customers by their motivations and identified nine motivational segment profiles
which are: global executives, schedule optimizers, corporate troopers, mile accumulators,
reluctant travelers, tour takers, quality vacationers, travel seekers, and frugal flyers (The Times
100, 2003, p. 2). The reasons why travelers choose to fly United varies. For example, some may
choose this airline because of price, while others choose it because of their frequent flyer
program, schedules, or other services. As a legacy airline, it would not be productive for United
to try and gain business from those that are more concerned with lower ticket fares. Instead, the
airline chose to focus on the frequent business travelers as their core market. By segmenting the
customers, United chose to focus on the global executives as their target market. These folks made
up only 9 percent of United s travelers, but they represented 46 percent of United s revenue (Di

Authority
Authority is the power an organization gives to a supervisor to do something or to get something
done. There are two types of authority: formal and informal. Formal authority comes with the
position a person holds in the organization. Informal authority, also referred to as personal authority,
is the power you have because of your abilities and personal traits. In my opinion, authority is
means want to control something in your hand. Formal authority means use law or rules to control
the store or public place. Informal authority means you want to control something by yourself,

What Is Mexiconia s Identity
Franconians and their own interpretation of their Bavarian identity
First of all the German or Bavarian Franconians (German = Franken) are not a Swiss currency or
so help me god are not related to the modern French people. To be honest, there is probably a
historical background with the medieval Frankish tribe and the common French/German history by
Charles the Great and his Charlemagne. However, nowadays the region of Franconia is a
geographical and cultural province in the north of modern Bavaria with its own identity. It consists
of roughly one third of the Bavarian area and population. Franconia itself is divided into three
regions: Upper Franconia with its capital city Bayreuth, Lower Franconia with its capital city

That is why the people of Franconia are so proud of their own identity and see themselves first as
Franconians and after that as Bavarians or Germans. But the main and probably true reason is that

cultural annoying geographical part of Bavaria without any industrial powerhouses like Siemens,
BMW or Audi. Some arrogant Bavarians assert that everything beyond the Danube (also called the

do have a slight inferiority complex towards the Bavarians, but are in the end quietly and secretly
proud to be a part of Bavaria and its world famous traditional culture. I mean who on earth, outside

exports, increased production, and land ownership (Kolko 7). Thus, the Vietnamese never worked
for their profits, but for the benefit of the colonies of the French.
The French also had a chance of acquiring great tracks of land and reorganization of the same into
plantations. The small landholders had the option of being laborers in the plantations or having to
relocate to other places. In case shortfalls in labor were experienced, the farmers from Vietnam had
to be recruited from other outlying villages (Mason 11). These farmers could even come to work
voluntarily after being promised that they will have higher wages. In other cases, they were
conscripted at gunpoint.
The plantations had cash crops, which were rubber and rice. The French also built mines of taping

The Discipline Of Environmental History
Found within various articles and books, the discipline of environmental history permeates the
study of nature and humans. By combining a multitude of studies and methodologies, authors
explore the aspects of the environment and nature along with human interaction to understand how
they commingle, affecting one another. In the following four books and one article, scholars from
varying backgrounds approach environmental historyin an assortment of methods in order to prove
their thesis. Their methodologies shape their thought process and lead to the structure of these
books. Further investigation into this process reveals the authors intentions, enabling readers to
understand how methodology fuels the writing process, creating an argument, and producing
valuable work.
A strong cooperation lies at the heart of Lisa M. Brady s article entitled, Has Environmental
History Lost Its Way? and sets the tone for many of the following books. She reveals that in order
to study environmental history training in the field is not a requirement. Rather, a conglomeration
of backgrounds can provide insight into the study. Additionally, her article takes a materialistic
approach, suggesting that straying too far from this idea will lead to the breakdown of this study.
While this seems to be the foundation of her article, her ultimate goal is a juxtaposition between the
previous approach and the idea that expanding the field is vital in creating a contemporary
narrative. By

Chronic Hepatitis C Case Study
Chronic hepatitis C (HCV) is a common infection in injecting drug users and the prevalence of
HCV infection in this subpopulation is up to 60% (ROUX). Patients with infective endocarditis
(IE) are at higher risk of developing neurological complications such as cardioembolic stroke. In
10 50% of patients with IE in the left heart, it may cause stroke, usually in the first two weeks of
illness. (GRECU) According to the latest recommendations the IE is diagnosed on the basics of
transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography (HORSTKOTTE) but doubts of IE can be set
on the basis of Doppler ultrasonography of the carotid arteries and observed changes in blood flow
through the arteries that can indicate changes in the valves that may exist within

Identifying My Area Of Student Growth Since Undertaking...
My essay will outline the journey of identifying my area of student growth since undertaking this
Bachelor of Dementia Care degree and introductory units. Academic achievements, typically are
based on examination or assessment marks. As Cottrell (2013, pp. 12 13) shows, a quiz can
identify and evaluate a measurement of achievement particularly of a new student. I will endeavour
to show, with the use of differing methods or tools of measurement, they act as a catalyst to
improve or impede my academic development. Additionally, I will discuss examples and explain
how I can apply the outcomes of my development.
It has been thirty years since I completed by Higher School Certificate, receiving a mark
measuring my ability to recall prior years of secondary study. So, as I commence university to attain
my degree, how will I manage study, work and family commitments? Do I have the skills to
undertake this so late in my life? (Vivekananda Shores, 1996, p.10). Overwhelmed and anxious
about what I had committed myself to, the initial exhilaration of enrolling as a university student
was replaced with anxiety. Scanning through discussion boards provided affirmation of the
anxieties I experienced. The Feedback I received from one participant responded I feel that self
doubt too (M. Bancroft, personal communication, March 3, 2016) (Appendix A) this alerted me to
an opportunity to abate my anxiety, but also provided me with a tool to test my strategies and ideas.

The Importance of Sleep Essay
Sleep is an extremely interesting phenomenon in which the mind almost completely departs
from the usual realm of consciousness. It is distinguished from quiet wakefulness and a
decreased ability to react to stimuli where we become less aware of our surroundings. However,
it is more easily reversed than being in hibernation or a coma. It is a function that has been
extensively researched by many. After all, we would not have evolved a mechanism that forces
us to spend one third of our lives sleeping unless sleep did us some good. What good does it do
tough? Over the years, many theories have been proposed as to why we need sleep. The simplest
is that it saves energy. An individual s energy expenditure and demand is reduced during the day,

A sleep deprived driver, believe it or not, is as dangerous as a drunk driver. Sleep also strengthens
learning and memory, including both motor skills and language related tasks. When you learn
something, your memory improves if you go to sleep within the next 3 hours, and it deteriorates
after a sleepless night. A good night s sleep can also improve learning the next day. When people
learn a new difficult motor task, such as a video game skill, the brain areas that are active during
the learning become reactivated during one s sleep that night. The brain replays the same patterns
they had during the day, only faster. The amount of functioning and activity in those areas during
sleep predicts the amount of improvement the next day. In learning, wakefulness and sleep play
complementary roles. Researchers have demonstrated that learning strengthens the appropriate
synapses during wakefulness and weakens other synapses during sleep. Therefore, REM sleep is
crucial for organizing pieces and the associations between them needed for forming lasting
memories. Organizing these pieces within your brain requires information gained through learning.
Learning is a complicated process that is completed subconsciously by gaining new knowledge and
skills and modifying previous ones. Three basic parts of learning include acquisition, consolidation,
and recall. During acquisition, the brain receives information and stores it within its neural circuits
as memory. This

  • 2. Evaluation of Impact of Desmopressin and Alpha1 Blocker... We evaluated the impact of desmopressin and О±1 blocker tamsulosin combined therapy in treatment of LUTS/BPH patients with noctuia. BPH is a common disorder, which affect about 40% of men older than 50 years. Nocturia is a common manifestation of BPH (6) that is not only bothersome but can also have a marked impact on sleep patterns and decreases the QoL (9, 10). Different treatment modalities for LUTS/BPH have been used with success. However, treatment for nocturia has been reported to be less satisfactory than treatment of other LUTS and remains one of the most difficult LUTs to treat. Different treatment plans were assessed, either for nocturia by itself or that occurring in association with BPH. As, BPH is a potential risk factor for nocturia, О± blockers are considered a potential treatment for nocturia (11). The О±1 blockers are the most common treatment for LUTS/BPH and all currently available О±1 blockers have similar efficacy and improve symptoms by approximately 35% and Qmax by 1.8 2.5 mL/s (12, 13). Many studies assessed the effect of О±1 blockers, either alone or in combination with 5 О± reductase inhibitors on nocturia associated with BPH. Tamsulosin OCAS 0.4 was evaluated in BPH patients with ≥ 2 night voids and was proved to significantly improve the mean IPSS when compared to placebo (14). However, the reduction in nocturnal voids was associated with a minimal difference between tamsulosin and placebo with a mean change of 3.1 to 2.0 night voids for tamsulosin and ... In Clinton County, Iowa, the middle class has an annual income between $33,300 and $99,401. As I walked down the streets of Cobblestone Estates in DeWitt, Iowa and driving through the trailer parks on the outskirts of DeWitt, it is clear to examine the differences between these two neighborhoods. The three central differences fall into the categories of economic differences, personal identities, and outdoor appearance s. Cobblestone Estates, has immense homes where families with much higher incomes reside, compared to the trailer parks, where families have very low income compared the wealthier families.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With these homes being manufactured in industrial shops, they are constructed fairly quickly and can be shipped to a location on one semi trailer. The doublewide trailers require a little more effort to obtain. Doublewide homes begin at 1,067 square feet and can reach up to 2,300 square feet. These homes have a width of 20 feet or more and can reach an astonishing 90 feet long. Although they can get quite large, the most common size is 56 feet long and 26 feet wide. This totals out to be around 1,456 square feet. Unfortunately, with these homes being wider they have to be shipped as two separate units and are jointed together seamlessly to create a double wide home. These homes can be shipped onto the site very quickly and at a low cost compared to constructing a larger home built in a subdivision. After some research conducted on the U.S. Census Bureau website, I found the average new home built in 2015 had a square footage of 2,467. Even though these statistics are the average house size in the Midwest in 2015, Cobblestone Estates holds houses well over the median square footage in the Midwest. All of this information within the economic differences category because wealthier families tend to relocate to upper class neighborhoods, compared to lower class families moving to trailer parks. Although Cobblestone includes homes larger than the average sized home, this does not mean they are necessarily wealthier than than the inhabitants in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. An Integrated Energy And Environmental Management System... The manager of an integrated energy and environmental management system is responsible for allocating carbon emission treatment amount to each carbon emitter within a multi period horizon. In a regional energy system, there are some limitations for total emission amounts set up by the emission constraints in certain periods. If carbon emission is larger than the emission target, the over limit part should be treated by carbon mitigation facilities. In period k, carbon emission amounts should be no more than the summation of carbon emission permit and the surplus credits from previous period (k в€’1), in which surplus of emission credits are to be transferable to a consecutive period (Li et al. 2012). Moreover, carbon emission inventory of different emitters may vary from each period under the different operating condition, which can be expressed as a random variable, the study system can be formulated through a MSP approach. Thus, in a MSP model for carbon emission management system, the objective is to maximize system benefits while satisfying the total carbon emission requirement. Specifically, the economic objective can be formulated as follows: пј€1 aпј‰ where are decision variables that are reflected in the objective function and determined by the capacity of carbon capture measures. • 6. Legalization Of Marijuana For Medical Purposes Essay Legalization of Marijuana for Medical Purposes What is Marijuana? Marijuana is a kind of drug. Similar to other drugs, it has positive and negative effects which depends on how much a person intakes. Marijuana refers to the different parts of a plant called Cannabis Sativa. Marijuana is similar to a cigarette as it is also rolled and smoked. The two main components of Marijuana are Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and Cannabidiol (CBD). Though both components have positive effects, THC is actually the bad component of Marijuana that makes it addictive and heavily stimulates the brain while CBD is the component that mostly provides different good effects. Along with THC and CBD, Marijuana houses 483 known compounds. These compounds such as cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), and tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV) all have specific distinctions which lead to several effects. The Cannabis plant was originally intended for medical use but because of the lack of discipline of the people who use it, it then becomes addictive and leads to several bad effects such as anxiety, loss of balance, and even death. Historical Background of Marijuana The earliest recorded use of marijuana is from Central and South Asia in the 3rd millennium BCE, wherein there is evidence of inhalation of smoke at an ancient ritual brazier at an ancient burial site in present day Romania. There is also evidence of cannabis consumption found in Egyptian mummies dated about 950 BC. The ancient Hindus of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The BSC takes forethought. It is not a tool you can just think up one night to solve a problem. Instead, it is recommended that you hold a meeting to plan out what goals you would like to see your company reach in each of the four above areas. Once you have clearly stated objectives, you can then begin to break down these objectives in what you will need, financially, to bring these objectives to fruition. 2. While the BSC gives you an overall view of the four areas for concern in business growth and development, these four areas do not paint the whole picture. The financial information included on the scorecard is limited. Instead, to be successfully implemented, the balanced scorecard must be part of a bigger strategy for company growth that includes meticulous accounting methods. 3. Many companies use metrics that are not applicable to their own situation. It is vitally important when using balanced scorecards to make the information being tracked applicable to your needs. Otherwise, the metrics will be meaningless. 4. Review Strategic management is a long process that is not limited to making good plans; most of today s strategic management challenges stem from the areas of implementations; it s obvious from many financial scandals, and company failures, leading to acquisitions and downsizing, that those firms didn t lack a well developed plans and strategies, but thy did lack the appropriate control strategies

  • 10. The Human Development Index And Gini Coefficient Despite the fact that Brazil s Gross Domestic Product is one of the highest globally, Brazil still faces developmental issues in their economy. As Stiglitz has mentioned prior to his overall research, it is clear to see that Brazil has benefited tremendously from globalization . With a GDP of $2.346 trillion , this shows the output of goods and services have helped the country bring in more revenue to help stabilization. Although there is an increase in GDP, both the Human Development Index and Gini coefficient is still at an all time low despite the growth. Brazils HDI is ranked seventy five compared to other states (which shows that money is not being distributed in the proper places because corruption is a still a major issue); the Gini coefficient is another factor of corruption (52.9 ). Since the GDP is $2.346, you would expect for the income of the individuals (the Gini coefficient) to be just as high, but in this region, wealth is not being distributed evenly. In this paper you will see how the transformation from Mercantilism to Capitalism has effected Brazil, including the extent of government involvement in the economy. As an illustration, Brazil has had the chance to jump on the boat in comparison to China, and India as a result of development as mentioned by Collier . As for the notion of the resource curse, Brazil is not effected much by it now as compared to previous years before. For example, in the mid 17th century when Brazil was the leading distributor ... • 11. Jean Jacques Rousseau Social Contract The Social Contract In ancient times all men lived in a state of nature until hardships and the necessity to form a civil society between one another became eminent. Jean Jacques Rousseau s The Social Contract, analyses the steps and reasoning behind this transition. In Rousseau s work he focuses on several key terms in order to define this transition clearly, they include: state of nature, social contract, civil society, general will, and the sovereign. It would be impossible to define the latter terms without first analyzing Rousseau s definition of state of nature. This has to do with the fact that none of the terms have relevance without the existence of the state of nature. According to Rousseau, the state of nature is when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These social contracts between individuals are the foundations of our modern societies which include the general will and the sovereign. Though the civil society and social contract do exist in today s society, Rousseau s state of nature could never be in existence. In reality, it is impossible to have ever been in a state of nature. This is supported by Rousseau s idea that at birth, one is born into a society called family. This society is eventually dissolved but children eventually build a social contract with individuals as they grow up and mature. Furthermore, this supports the fact that social contracts and civil societies do exist, even when the state of nature never did. Each day, this is immanent when one forms social bounds with the people around them. Rousseau s ideas developed from his time period and his life. He was writing this essay during the French Revolution which is in itself a perfect example of the destruction of a social contract between a society and its king and turning into a social contract of the general will of the population to form a new society. Then, the radio came. In the 1920s and 30s the radio impacted culture by informing the public of news, bringing together America s music and sports, and even uniting America to stop the Great Depressionand restore faith in government. The radio was first invented in 1895. At first, people were unaware of the possible uses radios would eventually have. Twenty five years after the radio was invented, the beginning of commercial broadcasting radio stations began with the KDKA in Pittsburgh. During that time, the war began a mass production of radios which let more common households own them instead of radios being a rich people s toy, as they were considered previously. Radios sales spread as radios were cheaper and people had more money to spend in the 1920s. By the end of the decade more than twelve million households owned radios. Radios changed America through news as people changed from reading newspapers to listening to the radio starting November 2, 1920, which was more convenient and frequent. Unlike newspapers, radios could broadcast information live instead of waiting for the next day s paper, therefore they began to rival the popularity of newspapers (Britannica). People could hear events immediately and could do so while cooking or doing other activities. This allowed America to be more informed more efficiently ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. ##torical Analysis Of Maya Angelou s The Fight She Fought The Fight She Fought Ariel Worrell Wilkes Community College The Fight She Fought Maya Angelou s speech (August 31, 2008) at Coretta Scott King s funeral was very successful. She drivingly outlined the issues that Coretta Scott King fought for throughout her life, Angelou did so in a way that allowed those listening to feel connected to King. Angelou makes it clear that King s life was one of great importance. She delivered the information in a relevant and important way. Her use of relevancy, audience connections, and humor allowed her to deliver the eulogy meaningfully. Audience Connection is essential when delivering a speech, Angelou mastered the technique as seen in this speech. Angelou (2008) opens the Eulogy with a popular hymnal, I open my mouth to the Lord and I won t turn back, no. I will go, I shall go. I ll see what the end is gonna be. . This allowed her to make a connection with the audience. Many people knew this hymnal; therefore, they felt as if she is one of them. Angelou (2008) went on to say Those of us who gather here, principalities, presidents, senators, those of us who run great companies, who know something about being parents, who know something about being preachers and teachers those of us.. . Those of us referred to everyone in the audience, Angelou (2008) was including everyone and in doing so she was making an audience connection. Angelou (2008) then said we owe something from this minute on; so that this gathering is not just another footnote on the pages of history. We owe something. . No one wants to believe that their actions will be forgotten. By this point in the speech Angelou had already made an audience connection and by doing so has allowed for a call to action. This call to action is a very important part of the speech because it developed relevancy in a way that was consequential. One tool that Angelou used while giving the eulogy was relevancy. Following the hymnal, Angelou (2008) begins by saying In the midst of national tumult, in the medium of international violent uproar.. Photosynthesis uses the energy from the sun and it is captured and stored in the chemical bonds of organic molecules. The sunlight consists of different wavelengths of light. In plant chloroplasts, they have different pigments that capture different wavelengths of light. Light capturing pigments in green plants are called chlorophylls and these absorb all the colors of light except green, which is mostly reflected. In a nearly ironic set of ecological blunders the colonist would drastically transform the land and the way of life of its native inhabitants. In essence their mercantilist mind set would change the ecology of New Englandthrough trade, deforestation, and practices associated with livestock. Upon arrival the colonist began to trade with the Indians. The colonist would supply the Indians with goods such as brass and copper pots in exchange for animal furs. As their relations with the natives continued colonist realized that the Native Americans valued trade goods primarily as a status symbol [1]. This observation may have lean the colonist to begin trading in wampum. Wampum is a strings of white and purple beads which Native Americans commonly traded amongst themselves. The wampum were a symbol of wealth and power [2]. The colonial fur traders began collecting vast quantities of this to trade for fur. Initially they would trade guns and commodities for the wampum [3]. Then trade the wampum for the desired furs. However, in 1637 a colonial group attacked the Peguots and took the wampum by force. Shelley wants her reader to question if the pursuit of knowledge exists for the sake of glory or the sake of tranquility, seeing Victor embrace the former while Walton ultimately embraces the latter. • 45. Identifying My Area Of Student Growth Since Undertaking... My essay will outline the journey of identifying my area of student growth since undertaking this Bachelor of Dementia Care degree and introductory units. Academic achievements, typically are based on examination or assessment marks. As Cottrell (2013, pp. 12 13) shows, a quiz can identify and evaluate a measurement of achievement particularly of a new student. I will endeavour to show, with the use of differing methods or tools of measurement, they act as a catalyst to improve or impede my academic development. Additionally, I will discuss examples and explain how I can apply the outcomes of my development. It has been thirty years since I completed by Higher School Certificate, receiving a mark measuring my ability to recall prior years of secondary study. So, as I commence university to attain my degree, how will I manage study, work and family commitments? Do I have the skills to undertake this so late in my life? (Vivekananda Shores, 1996, p.10). Overwhelmed and anxious about what I had committed myself to, the initial exhilaration of enrolling as a university student was replaced with anxiety. Scanning through discussion boards provided affirmation of the anxieties I experienced. The Feedback I received from one participant responded I feel that self doubt too (M. • 46. The Importance of Sleep Essay Sleep is an extremely interesting phenomenon in which the mind almost completely departs from the usual realm of consciousness. It is distinguished from quiet wakefulness and a decreased ability to react to stimuli where we become less aware of our surroundings. However, it is more easily reversed than being in hibernation or a coma. It is a function that has been extensively researched by many. After all, we would not have evolved a mechanism that forces us to spend one third of our lives sleeping unless sleep did us some good. What good does it do tough? Over the years, many theories have been proposed as to why we need sleep. The simplest is that it saves energy. An individual s energy expenditure and demand is reduced during the day, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A sleep deprived driver, believe it or not, is as dangerous as a drunk driver. Sleep also strengthens learning and memory, including both motor skills and language related tasks. When you learn something, your memory improves if you go to sleep within the next 3 hours, and it deteriorates after a sleepless night. A good night s sleep can also improve learning the next day. When people learn a new difficult motor task, such as a video game skill, the brain areas that are active during the learning become reactivated during one s sleep that night. The brain replays the same patterns they had during the day, only faster. The amount of functioning and activity in those areas during sleep predicts the amount of improvement the next day. In learning, wakefulness and sleep play complementary roles. Researchers have demonstrated that learning strengthens the appropriate synapses during wakefulness and weakens other synapses during sleep. Therefore, REM sleep is crucial for organizing pieces and the associations between them needed for forming lasting memories. Organizing these pieces within your brain requires information gained through learning. Learning is a complicated process that is completed subconsciously by gaining new knowledge and skills and modifying previous ones. Three basic parts of learning include acquisition, consolidation, and recall. During acquisition, the brain receives information and stores it within its neural circuits as memory. This ...
