The Triassic-Jurassic Extinction
The Triassic Jurassic extinction occurred about 210 million years ago, killing about 80 percent of
all living species ( End Triassic Extinction ). Most species were hit hard, but there were no major
full on extinctions. Still, cephalopods, sponges, corals, reptiles, and pollen and spore producing
plants were hit hard. The dinosaurs, however, were lucky and survived the extinctionintact. This
allowed them to reign supreme for the next geological epoch ( End Triassic Extinction ). During
the time of the Triassic Jurassic extinction, Pangea was in the process of breaking apart. This
caused major volcanic activity to occur, one of the prevailing theories as to what caused this
extinction ( End Triassic Extinction ). Like during the Permian Triassic... Show more content on

The widely debated sixth extinction event, the Holocene extinction, is a man made weapon of mass
destruction that has caused over 1000 extinct species in the past 500 years (Brannen). A mixture of
deforestation, climate change, and other human impacted effects has made species die off 10 to
100 times faster than the usual background species extinction (Brannen). Well known creatures
such as the Dodo Bird, Passenger Pidgeon, Tasmanian Wolf, and Golden Toad have all died due to
the lack of care humans have shown for the natural world. Smithsonian paleontologist Doug Erwin,
however, still maintains that the Holocene extinction is fake. Though humans have accelerated the
extinction of some species and negatively impacted the environment, the actual amount of recent
extinctions is almost insignificant. Compared to over half of all species dying off, a few thousand
lost animals make nearly no mark in the fossil record (Brannen). Most animals and plants are not,
or do not die in ways, suitable for fossilization. This makes the fossil record extremely incomplete.
Some scientists estimate that the fossil record shows less than one percent of species that have
actually lived. This means that only a truly massive extinction could cause a noticeable change in
the record, so the Holocene extinction is most likely not occurring. Still, Erwin cautions us to watch
our impact on the Earth and make sure

The Costing Method Is An Accounting Process
A1. Costing Method Costing Method is an accounting process that assesses itemized input costs of
production and fixed costs to determine overall costs of production. (Kucera, n.d.) Competition
Bikes is performing this analysis so management can determine the optimum sales units to
breakeven from its San Diego plant based on the current sales mix of 9 Titanium bicycles for every
5 CarbonLite bicycles produced. Traditional costing is an easily implemented costing method that
aligns with generally accepted accounting principles, GAAP. Traditional costing is the distribution
of manufacturing overhead costsacross the number of products produced based or another volume
based metric. Traditional costing is very simplistic in the fact that it doesn t allocate out any
nonmanufacturing costs. Traditional costing allocates costs to generic buckets such as direct
material, direct labor and other overhead. Activity based costing (ABC) was developed as a costing
method to overcome the weaknesses of traditional costing. ABC allocates costs to every activity, or
manufacturing task, associated in the production of an item. ABC is more accurate than traditional
costing. Competition Bikes grouped the following as tasks associated with the manufacturing of
bicycles; Factory Setups, Quality Control, Engineering Service, Product Movements, Utilities, and
Depreciation. (Johnson, n.d.) In Competition Bikes data analysis of traditional verses activity based
costing, the differences in costs is

Network Built For Local Area Networks Essay
WANs are systems built for information exchange that connects computers from anywhere in
the world across the globe. A wide area network (WAN) is generally used by large corporations
or organizations. WANs are very useful to these sorts of associations because it easily allows
them to deploy data from their computers to disseminate offices. Large organizations that use
multiple facilities usually end up using WANs. Smaller businesses are increasingly using WANs
as well. They are able to use WANs if they have at least two secluded sites. WAN usually connects
two or more LANs together. LAN stands for local area networks. The internetthat we all use is very
much considered a WAN. WANs have existed for many years. They are methodical and controlled
much differently from other types of telecommunication systems. WANs are very similar to LANs
because they serve almost the same purpose. WANs are still a bit more intricate than LANs of
course. In order for a user to use WAN, they first would have to subscribe to a telecommunication
providers service. The organizations that choose to use WANs do not own or control any of the
communication lines that connect the secluded network systems to other computers. WANs are not
used to connect individual computers with each other. They were built to link different LANs
together. When the WAN connects the LANs to each other this is called internetwork. Routers and
remote bridges play a part to the internetwork as

For the micro credit loan from ZaraiTaraqiati Bank farmers should have minimum of 12 acre or
more then twelve acre of land. There are different types of loans. Open ended loans and close ended
loans, secured and unsecured loans and conventional loans.
Open ended loans
Open ended loans are loans that you can borrow over and over. Credit cards and lines of credit
are the most common types of open ended loans. With both of these loans, you have a credit limit
that you can purchase against. Each time you make a purchase, your available credit decreases. As
you make payments, your available increases allowing you to use the same credit over and over.
Close ended loans
Closed ended loans cannot be borrowed once they ve been repaid. As you make payments on
closed ended loans, the balance of the loan goes down. However, you don t have any available
credit you can use on closed ended loans. Instead, if you need to borrow more money, you d have
to apply for another loan. Common types of closed ended loans include mortgage loans, auto loans,
and student loans.

The Difference Between Scientific Theory And Common Sense
1.What is a scientific theory? Please cite a definition that you like.
Wikipedia defines Scientific theory, as often seeks to synthesize a body of evidence or observations
of phenomena. It s generally though by no means always a grander, testable statement about how
nature operates. I see scientific theory as having a great deal of support backing it to support and
accepted it as true.
1.What is the difference between a scientific theory and common sense ideas about the same topic
(for example, why a child seeks a bottle at birth)?
A scientific theory is more like a fact than a guess because it is supported. Common sense is a
usual understanding of practical matters, and common sense is vital for day to day life. The
word common sense is used in the sense of instinct. Common sense is vital to my ever day life,
but science is not vital to day to day life. I know I use common sense on a regular basis
especially when I m driving, and the light is turning yellow my common sense lets me know to
stop because oncoming traffic is coming and it s not safe to drive through the light. Also, I use
common sense when crossing the street common sense tells me to press the cross signal and wait
for me to be told when to cross so that I don t get ran over
Common sense understandings fit social expectation. There is a sense of the element in the
common sense understanding of social psychology. It is accepted widely and something that is
shared amongst the people of a common

Augustus Caesar Legacy Essay
Augustus Caesar: The Caesar Legacy
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man s character, give him power. ,
said Abraham Lincoln. Power can be either be a wonderful thing in the hands of the right person,
or a dangerous thing in the hands of the wrong person. However, Abraham Lincoln draws the
conclusion on the fact of how power can even corrupt a person who has overcome many
difficulties in life, and may believe they can also withstand the substantial effect power can have
on a person. And if someone truly wants to understand the personality of someone, give them
power and see how they handle it. The idea of power and the abuse of power has been seen all

Augustus ended up getting married three times, although his first union, to Mark Antony s
stepdaughter Clodia Pulchra, was unconsummated.( Augustus. ) His second wife, Scribonia,
gave birth to his only child, Julia the Elder. He divorced Julia in 39 B.C. to marry Livia Drusilla,
who already had two sons Tiberius and Drusus by her first husband, Mark Antony s ally Tiberius
Claudius Nero. ( Augustus. ) The family tree became more complicated after Augustus had his
stepson Tiberius briefly marry his daughter, and then adopted Tiberius outright as son and
successor in A.D. 4. ( Augustus. ) Augustus Caesar died on August 19 in A.D. 14, his empire
secured and at peace. His reported last words were twofold: to his subjects he said, I found
Rome of clay; I leave it to you of marble, but to the friends who had stayed with him in his rise to
power he added, Have I played the part well? Then applaud me as I exit. ( Augustus. ) The Roman
senate declared Augustus, just like Julius Caesar, a god after his death. Augustus legacy lives on
even after his death. During his reign, he had created a time of peace, or Pax Romana, which
carried on at least a hundred years in Rome after his death. Massive buildings and temples
dedicated to Roman gods (like the Temple of Apollo Palatinus), those ruins are still there today.

you.
Congratulations on what you have accomplished. I m sure your families, friends, and colleagues
are extremely proud of you. I know I am.
The strength of our Army is our Soldiers. The strength of our Soldiers is our families. We could
never do what we as professionals and Soldiers without their support. When we deploy to serve our
nation and do the profession we called to, the responsibility of raising of the kids, resolving
arguments with the neighbors, fixing the broken refrigerator falls on them. Our families have
sacrificed more than we can ever imagine during these 10 plus years of sustained conflict. Please
join me in a warm round of applause for our families.
Many of you will soon return to the operational Army to lead our nations sons and daughters and I
know you understand the seriousness of our profession and the tasks that await you.
ILE marks a turning point of many officer s careers. ILE tends to be the first school attended
almost exclusively by officers who have chosen to make the profession of arms their career.
As such, I want to leave you with a few thoughts about our profession of arms. First, think about
what it means to be a profession.
Professions produce uniquely expert work, not routine or repetitive work. Effectiveness, rather than
pure efficiency, is the key to the work of professionals. Professionals require

What Can We Learn from Julian of Norwich
INTRODUCTION
The medieval theologian Julian of Norwich was a mystic, writer, anchoress and spiritual director
for her time. She is gaining in popularity for our time as she provides a spiritual template for
contemplative prayer and practice in her compilation of writings found in Revelations of Divine
Love. The insightful meditations provide the backdrop and basis for her Trinitarian theology s
embrace of God s Motherhood found in the Trinity. Her representative approach of the all
encompassing unconditional love of a mother who nurtures, depicts Christ as our Mother ascending
to the placement of Second hood within the Trinity while giving voice to the duality of God.
Her choices of metaphors are simplistic explanations providing ... Show more content on

She was the image of one who had successfully negotiated the transition from attachment to Jesus
earthly manhood to a more profound and spiritual relationship with his resurrected self. In this, her
vocation is similar to Julian s, for Julian had also learned, through much suffering, that her integrity
was founded not in anything the physical world could offer her, but in a spiritual relationship with
Christ, developed through loving and persistent prayer.
Julian recreated her visions or shewings in her visual imagery. Julian united to God, oned to God
in love. Her use of painterly eyes in visual metaphors invokes the key figure of Mary Magdalene,
as the lover of Christ, whose sins became no shame, but honor. She utilizes these dramatic
representations of dialogue between the soul who seeks union with God who confers wholeness
through relation. She calls upon all to be like Mary Magdalene in their pursuit of their love for
Christ, as they mourn for their sins rather than fear God s judgments, imploring the approach of
beseeching Christ in likening the par excellence fashion of the Magdalene.
Julian believed the relationship between the soul and God to be a drama. Magdalene as seeker is a
common literary construct used throughout the morality plays of the medieval age. These
representations presented a message that one must detach from an earthly Jesus

Analysis of Caius Cassius Character
Analysis of Caius Cassius Character
Caius Cassius plays one of the most important roles in William Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar ,
which is centred round the assassination of the Roman dictator. The driving force behind the
conspiracy is Cassius though there are others who are unhappy with the state of affairs under the
prevailing system. Yet, they do not take an active part in the design to get rid of powerful Caesar.
So, it is not incorrect to state that the chief protagonist of the assassination plot is no one but Caius
Cassius.
Let me have men about me that are fat;
Sleek headed men, and such as sleep o nights:
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look;
He thinks too much: such men are dangerous. Act1.ii.

The strategy succeeds in obtaining Brutus whole hearted involvement in the conspiracy when he
says, Speak, strike, redress! Am I entreated
To speak and strike? O Rome, I make thee promise,
If the redress will follow, thou receivest
Thy full petition at the hand of Brutus! Act 2.ii.
Though the method employed to convert Brutus is quite unprincipled, it shows, no doubt, the skill
of a practical man to achieve his objective by hook or by crook. Hence, it can be counted as a plus
point in his character. Brutus patriotism and self love impede him from seeing the deep chasm to
which he is pushed by artful manipulation.
Unlike Brutus, Cassius is a far sighted man. He is aware of the capability of Antony and his solid
friendship with Caesar. An important item in his plan is to get rid of Mark Antonyas well, along
with Caesar since he concludes that he is a potential danger to their cause. But this is over ruled by
Brutus on the premise that it will foul their good intention. Brutus reaction to the suggestion is:
Let s be sacrificers, but not butchers, Caius. Act 2 Scene i.
What takes place later fully justifies the stand taken by Cassius with regard to Antony. If Brutus
agreed with Cassius, the conspiracy would have been a complete success.
Brutus permits Antony to make a funeral oration at Caesar s burial. Again Cassius objects to
Antony being allowed to speak for he sees it

Analysis Of The Short Story You CanT Take It With You

that I could do anything that my older siblings could do. Finally, I got back up to the top of the

In the novel Divergent by Veronica Roth, Tris shows pride through taking risks to prove that she

Tris showing pride by taking risks is when Tris volunteers to jump off a building first. I am

pride can be both beneficial and dangerous. In the situation of jumping of a tall building, her
pride is a positive trait that makes her brave enough to take risks and prove herself worthy of
being part of Dauntless when she doubts herself. Another example of Tris s pride is when she

Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) can be identified as the condition that demonstrates
persistent, high levels of anxiety and excessive worry about one s daily life. These anxious

A common theme found in all three disorders is the development of negative cognition, emotions,
and schemas. Negative schemas are a key role in GAD because it focuses on how an individual
interprets and organizes the world. An individual s cognitive interpretation provides an explanation
why anxiety is evoked. In PTSD, a person s negative emotions and dysfunctional thoughts about
themselves or their environment are more likely to have PTSD. Individuals diagnosis with MDD
tends to have negative thoughts due to their interpretation about themselves and their surrounding
which can result in the feeling of worthlessness. An individual s cognition interpretations affect
their overall emotion. Another common theme that GAD, PTSD, and MDD share is rumination.
All these three disorders use rumination to cope with stressful situations. Although the disorders
shared similarities, there are several differences in between them. In GAD, individuals tend to have
a lower threshold for uncertainty and worry about worrying. These individuals have a misguided
belief that worry is an effective method to face their problem or prevent any negative consequences
from occurring. On the other hand, the severity of trauma and interpersonal trauma contribute to
the psychological factors that affect PTSD. Individuals may overestimate the probability of the
trauma occurring therefore, they react more intensely to it. In MDD, inadequate/ insufficient
reinforcers and learned helplessness/ attributional styles distress an individual. People with MDD
may receive insufficient social reinforcement which then causes them to withdraw from any social

Lourdes Medrano Immigration Reform Analysis
1.Lourdes Medrano is a strong advocate for immigration reform to strengthen the border and the
security manning the border. She supports her argument by showing how President George W.
Bush s surge on the US Mexican border. President Bush doubled the man power along the border,
while leading the technological advance on the border. Medrano shows how President Bush brought
immigrationreform into the spotlight, when roughly 1.6 million immigrants where entering the
US illegally. Now the number is historically lower at 356,873 immigrants. The budget for the
border patrol has been steadily increasing 1.1 billion in 2001 to 3.5 billion in 2012. Medrano
presents how President Bush signed the Secure Fence Act in 2006, which authorized 700 miles of
fencing. This his directly contributed to 651 miles of fencing created by 2012. Surge on
immigration reform has also doubled the man power from 2001 to 2012, which is exactly what
President Bush envisioned. With the border patrol now being a division of Homeland Security and
help from the national guard, they have grown much bigger then what they once were. Even the

Robin Hood Outlaw
In mid 14th century Nottingham, under the rule of King Edward II, an outlaw named Robin Hood
emerged from Sherwood Forest with his entourage of outlaws he claimed his Merry Men. Robin
Hood and his Merry Men have gone down in history as the band of outlaws whom were said to
have stolen from the rich and given to the poor, not to mention ridding Nottingham of the malicious
Sheriff. Many historians have been questioning the amount of truth behind the story of Robin Hood
and his Merry Menthat has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries, but no
one knows for sure what really happened. There are many theories referring to Robin Hood s
existence, but one in particular seems more plausible than the rest that the story of Robin Hood is
the story of not just one man and his entourage, but a collection of admirable people who helped
change society for the greater good.
Robin Hood was believed to be a heroic outlaw in the mid 14th century, who stole from the rich
and gave to the poor. But who s to say that Robin Hood was the only one who did this? What if
Robin Hood s figure was a summary of what the majority of outlaws of this time used to do and
what gave them their outlaw title? Robin Hood may indeed have been an outlaw, and in the eyes
of the poor people of Nottingham, a hero, but people aren t always what they first appear. Robin

looked for applicants who displayed integrity, as well as, showed traits consistent with its core

pilots are built on these core values to ensure the right cultural fit. During the interview process,
applicants are asked to recall incidents from previous jobs and describe how the situation was

Advertising is an effective way to promote a product, but only if the advertisers can create an
advertisement that can catch the attention of the others and leave an impact on them.
Advertisement images are different depend on the styles of the producers and the purposes of the
products; however, they all need to have the linguistic message and the visual image to guide the
viewers into the right directions. Besides this, the advertisements should be fitting into the country
s events or historical circumstances to be more effective. Besides being known for its delicious
spicy food, beautiful islands and beaches, and dazzling Buddhism gold statue, Thailand is also
being known for child prostitution. According to ECPAT, in 2009, there are about 30,000 to

Rhetorical Analysis Of Hippolytus
Euripides is known for starting his plays with a speech, which gives background information and
informs the reader what is going to occur later on in Hippolytus. Although this gives away the
surprise to the reader right from the start, it allows them to understand the reasoning behind the
motive and gives a better understanding. In the beginning scene, Aphrodite gives a speech about
her hatred towards Hippolytus, considering he did the worst thing possible, by not worship her
since he hunts all day and does not believe in sex. She then explains in the passage what she is
going to do in revenge in order to get back at him for his wrongdoings. It is clear how furious this
makes Aphrodite and how it makes her feel less powerful that she is not supported by
Hippolytus. Aphrodite foreshadows what is going to happen throughout the play, which informs
only the reader of what is going to happen, while the characters have no idea. Through numerous
stylistic devices, lexical groups, and syntax, the audience is able to get a much deeper and better
understanding of why Aphrodite has such a hatred for Hippolytus. The beginning of the scene is
very powerful and persuasive. Aphrodite does everything in her power to make sure not only
Hippolytus but also the readers know how much authority she has over the other characters. This is
shown by litotes in the first line, where she is telling the reader how much power she has by
saying what she is not: I am powerful and not without a name

Whistle Blower
Being a Whistle Blower
To some the word whistleblower just sounds like a bad thing to be called. So what is a whistle
blower you may ask? A whistleblower is a person who informs on a person or an organization
engaged in an illicit activity. So what are the pro to being a whistleblower, better yet what are the
cons as well? Some of the pros are that the person who is a whistleblower is a courageous individual
who recognize a wrong and are willing to take risks in order to see that the wrongs are corrected.
Personal gratification isn t the only benefit of becoming a whistleblower though. The amount that
the relator can receive most often ranges from 15% to 30% depending on whether the government
intervenes in the case or not. The whistle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The length of the process and the uncertainty that comes with it can be incredibly taxing on the

be revealed to everyone who wanted to see what the case was about is a scary fact. People will
see you as nothing more than a rat to the company and may make it much harder for you to ever
get a job with any corporation. That being said I cant see how anyone would want to be a
whistleblower at all because it could ruin your life in the long run.
I believe that Douglas Durand and the Federal Government were wrong in the case against TAP
when it comes to ethical standpoint. The fact that their case started to fall apart because Douglas
didn t have all the proof that he truly thought he had. I also believe that they didn t have the
justification to go in and say that TAP was going and making these overcharges towards the
government Medicare. If Douglas had just stayed a little longer and perhaps was able to prove
everything much easier and much faster in the process instead of having everything almost fall
apart on their faces.
If it were up to me to make sure that TAP doesn t get a lawsuit like the following again I think that
they should do the following. Hire people that go through an extensive background. Make sure that

Sales Manager Memo
The reason I am writing a memorandum today is to discuss the much needed new position of a Tri
State Promotional Manager. The explanation for this new position will be outlined specifically and
clearly to highlight how this position will help grow the new product line beyond original
calculations of sales. In recent months our new sporting line Witlow Sporting Gear has increased
in sales in a very steady and reasonable expected growth. However, due to the steady growth the
Witlow products will flat line its profits within 8 months, according to sales data that my marketing

he has exceeded all sales projections that he has been in charge of. He knows Thomas Sporting
Goods, Inc. inside and out; he has always had the company s best interest as top priority. As the
regional Assistant Sales Manager he has proven to be an asset that we can t lose, his promotion
would benefit the company greatly. Therefore, I would suggest his promotion to the new
position of Tri State Promotional Manager. This promotion would initially be a five year
contract, with an option to renew after the five years is up. This will not put the company into a
financial debt. Mr. Mimms has chosen to take a very modest salary increase to step into this new
role. After the initial five years has expired and if Thomas Sporting God, Inc. would like to retain
Mr. Mimms for a longer period of time, then we will renegotiate his salary based on the new sales
and profit gains that the company has experienced under his new title. In short, this is a win win
situation for all involved. Please take this Memorandum into extreme

Treating ADHD In Children
The statistics are stunning, an estimated 6.4 million school age children (ages 4 17) have
received a medical diagnosis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Have you
ever wondered what it is like to be diagnosed with ADHD? Take a moment and put yourself in the
place of a child who has received this diagnosis. Imagine what it is like to be the boy or girl who
can t stop screaming, fighting or fidgeting. The child who stares and does not focus. Imagine the
parents of an ADHD child, who takes their child out in public and he/she begins running around,
climbing on objects, knocking things over or just screams so people think you are mistreating him

Everyone has an opinion about the role of medication in treating ADHD symptoms which leads to
this controversy. The results from the Multimodal Treatment Study (MTA) show that medication
was the single most effective treatment (Peacock, 2002) . For more than 40 years, stimulant
medication has been prescribed for ADHD. There is a lot of research showing that they are safe,
effective and reduces the symptoms of ADHD while they are being taken (Dudley, 2005). On the
other hand, results from the study also suggested that a combination of psychological and
behavioral counseling with medication is the most effective overall treatment (Dudley, 2005).
Although the study suggest the use of a combination of treatments, stimulant medication should be
the first line of treatment based on effectiveness. In the past, ADHD treatment has typically focused
on medications. The specific class of medication most commonly prescribed for ADHD is
stimulants (Martin). Stimulant medication is the best and safest way to control ADHD symptoms.
Eighty percent (80%) of children respond well to one of these medications ( ADHD Children and
Medication , n.d.). Stimulants such as Ritalin or Adderall are commonly prescribed, well tolerated,
act quickly and in most children, have few side effects

Unfortunately my even my low expectations were not met and I felt as though there was not a large
enough improvement during this debateto have made any difference from the first one. While we
saw some improvement in terms of candidatebehavior, the rest of the debate was severely lacking
in substance. Questions posed by the audience were shallow, then made even more so by the
follow up questions from the moderators. On the topic of moderators, there appears to be a
continuing theme of their lack of effectiveness that has carried throughout all of the debates
including this one. Leading up to the 2nd debate we have seen the results of having two
candidates with political views on complete opposite poles and personalities to match. The events
of the first debate can easily be described as throwing water into a pot of hot oil and just watching
it happen. Throughout the debate we had seen Donald Trumprepeatedly interrupt and attempt to
interject as Hillary Clinton was speaking in an effort to defend himself. However this interruptions
were more of a nuisance, especially due to most of them being composed of the words no and not
true . Fortunately for the sake of everyone watching the debate, Trump learned to better control his
interruptions and was largely silent while it was

A Brief Summary Of The Banning Of Books
What Johnny Can t Read: Censorship In American Libraries
This article aimed to express the concerns and disappointments of those who are not pleased with
the banning of very popular books they loved as a children. These people do not agree with book
banning because in their times, when they were children, they were allowed to read whatever
appealed to them. Amongst these now banned books are; The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,
Black Beauty, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, The Catcher in the Rye, as well as many other
classic books. But this book banning is not something fairly new. Book banning started in the
early 1990s where by 1994, the demand for removal of books had increased by more than 50%.

Under Pressure, Dubai Drops Port Deal The Dubai Port World controversy began in February
2006 and rose to prominence as a national security debate in the United States. At issue was the
sale of port management businesses in six major U.S. seaports to a company based in the United
Arab Emirates, and whether such a sale would compromise port security. The controversy pertained
to management contracts of six major United States ports. The purchaser was DP World, a state
owned company in the U.A.E. The contracts had already been foreign owned, by Peninsular and
Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P O), a British firm taken over by DPW, completed in March
2006. Although ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, these ports are strategic for the country, and it is better to be managed by the US Company.
Second, more US citizens will be employed. Finally, the most important factor is security. The
country will be safer when these ports are managed by Americans. The safety of the country and
support of domestic companies could have influence on the reversal of the ports deal. The US
public concerns did not have big influence on a business decision made by a Dubai company. More
influence had the political pressure. However, public concern also played its role in this case. For
example, people s opinion was that foreign states, especially those related to terrorism in the past,
could not be trusted with strategic American assets. Also, they thought that foreign countries should
not have managerial responsibilities over ports due to divided loyalties and concerns over national
independence. Accordingly, all these public opinions were reflected and expressed by the
politicians whose pressure constrained Dubai Company to withdraw. Thinking that transportation
takes place through a global network of companies is slightly incorrect. Ports are vulnerable to the
entry of terrorists or illicit weapons because of the large number of containers that enter U.S.
territory. Accordingly, no foreign government should be permitted to own such strategic assets.
There are many business assets that can be owned by foreign companies and

Firstly, passion helps me succeed in playing basketball. For example my love for the game has built
my endurance because I used to only be able to play for about two hours per day; now when I get
the chance to, I will play for six to eight hours in a day. Therefore, it is pure passion that I am able
to play a physically demanding activity for such long periods of time. Secondly, passion gets me
excited about certain chess moves. For example, a friend of mine once fell for a trap I had set
up in a chess game, and I yelled Yes really loudly. Therefore, my enthusiasm for the game helped
me be successful. Thirdly, passion causes me to put chess games in front of other things in life.
For example, if I am playing in a chess match up that is really important to me, I will focus on
that game more than normal, instead of other things like getting on Facebook, and other social
media websites, and sadly sometimes even homework gets abandoned at times if I am playing
someone with a high rating or just someone who has beaten me before. Therefore, a friend of
mine once had a 1717 rating, which is really good, I ignored Facebook notifications on my phone
that were constantly yearning for my attention. I ended up winning that game and as of now, that
is the highest rated player I have ever beaten. For all of these reasons, I have used passion to
succeed. Third, not giving up is an important attribute to me. Firstly, I do not give up, even when I

Reflection Essay On Observation
To obtain knowledge, one must study; but to receive wisdom, one must observe. Observation, often
defined as the action or process of watching something or someone to gain information. Throughout
the semester, students within the education department had the genuine opportunity to both learn
and grow as future educators through observations outside of the classroom. Throughout the
semester, I chose to observe at the following programs: Breakaway at Westridge Church, Poole
Elementary School s Learning Bridge, and AWANA at Callie Harbin Baptist Church. As a future
educator, I learned that often observationis education as education and learning are so much more
than a textbook. For my first observation, I chose to observe at a respite event known as
Breakaway at Westridge Church located in Dallas Georgia. Breakaway is a cost free respite
event for both special needs participants and their families. This function allows individuals of all
ages to enjoy supervised entertainment and activities planned precisely for them. Breakaway,
Outdoor Extravaganza, an event consisting of carnival clowns, games, outdoor inflatables, corn
hole, hayrides, arts, crafts, face painting, petting zoo, music, and so much more. Through this
observation, I had the genuine opportunity to view life from different perspectives as special
needs individuals enjoyed a day prepared explicitly for them. For example, I had the opportunity
to share such a joyous day with an individual who holds my heart captive. I sat back and watched
as he rode the hayride with his volunteer; consequently, my heart filled with joy as he laughed the
whole way through. Once the hayride came to a close, he and his volunteer traveled to visit the
fire trucks and see all of its bells and whistles as he had the chance to climb inside. In addition to
all the excellent outdoor activities, each child had a chance to hang out, listen to music, see ballet
dancers perform, and hear the word of God brought forth through interactive Bible stories. This
experience overjoyed my heart as I saw firsthand that children with special needs paint the world
with beautiful colors every day as they love more profound than one s mind can fathom. For my

Recent representation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) families in mainstream
media, exemplified by the long running sitcom Modern Family, and the 2015 United States
Supreme Court s ruling in favor of same sex marriage, may lead some to believe LGBT families
are a recent phenomenon. Daniel Winunwe Rivers Radical Relations: Lesbian Mothers, Gay

Radical Relations prominently explores the history of lesbian mothers. Lesbian mother groups
fought not only against heteronormative families, but also for women s reproductive rights.
Rivers underscores the advocacy of groups like the Lesbian Mother Union in favor of legal
abortions, sex workers rights and health care for all women, and against forced sterilization of
women of color. The author innovatively presents this advocacy work as an unrecognized part of
the 1960 s sexual revolution. It would be interesting to analyze the reverse, that is, the impact the
free to love revolution had on the general population s perception of the LGBT community.
Lesbian mother groups also fundraised money for custody cases. Women who left their
heterosexual marriage faced the possibility of custody loss, poverty, and employment
discrimination. The author explores the magnified struggles of Black gay women but fails to do so
with Black gay men.
Rivers credits the gay father groups, which were politically centered, for 1990 s gay family
respectability. The narrative of gay father communities lacks the intense anguish present on the
chapters about lesbian mothers; it is more factual and impersonal. This shortcoming can probably
be explained by River s upbringing in lesbian community, and, therefore, less extensive contact with
the male gay community. The author describes the

The Concept Of Sin In Dante Alighieri s Inferno
Dante Alighieri s Inferno is the first of three books in The Divine Comedy. A comedy in Dante s
time didn t mean what it means today: a comedy was a piece of literature that moved from dark to
light or from damnation to salvation in the eyes of God. In The Inferno, Dante delves into darkness
and damnation, and his view of the nature of Hell. Dante was a devout Catholic, so most of his
inspiration for The Inferno came from the Bible. In Dante s version of Hell, there are nine circles
that reach to the center of the Earth: Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Avarice and Prodigality, Wrath and
Sullenness, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. Those who commit the least severe sins are put
near the top, as in Limbo, and the worst sins at the bottom come with the worst punishments. Dante,
the character in the book, is escorted by the poet Virgilto literally explore Dante s descent into sin.
To better understand the book s concept of sin, the reader should compare the least sinful part of
Hell, Limbo, to the most sinful part of Hell, the ninth circle where Satan is kept.
The poem begins with Dante waking up in a forest. Dante tries to climb the mountain and sees
three beasts: a leopard, a lion, and a wolf. Later, Dante meets Virgil, a Roman poet Dante is fond
of, to help him climb the mountain. Virgil says they have to go through Hell first before reaching
Heaven, where Beatrice, a woman Dante loved in real life, will be waiting for him. Eventually,
Dante and Virgil get to the first

The Crucifixion Of Christ By William Shakespeare
The Crucifixion of Christ is a one of the most frequented religious themes seen during Gothic Italian
panel paintings of the 13th and 14th century. Throughout the Strauss Collection at the Museum of
Fine Arts, Houston the panel paintings often have a series of narratives alongside portraits that the
viewer is able to read through the composition of the panels. One narrative that is of high
importance is of The Crucifixion. Because it is so important, this scene is often arbitrarily placed in
panels just to emphasize the engagement of the viewer to the importance of religion and the
church. The setting of the The Crucifixion is quite the same in most if not all crucifixion paintings,
with the placement of a triangular dialogue beginning with the Virgin, Christ, Saint John, and Saint
MaryMagdalene. Another common characteristic in crucifixion scenes is the emotional
representation of the figures pictured. Although there is an established display of facial expressions
in Italian Gothic art, there seems to be more of an emotional connection in this particular type of
narrative than other common religious themes. Looking at The Crucifixion scene of the Anon.

Essay On Should Student Athletes Be Paid
Student Athletes Should be Compensated
Life isn t fair, but we all know that. Instead of the athletes sharing in the revenue they create, it s
just the fat cats who benefit. The NCAA has multiple billions of dollars in revenue every year. but
the athletes don t see a pretty penny of that. Lots of people believe that college athletes should not
be compensated monetarily. by the means of money. They think that a scholarship is enough
compensation for the athlete s work. However, But what people do not know is that not all athletes
get scholarships, and not all scholarships include things like food and clothes. So college athletes
should be paid extra money for three reasons: the players put in lots of work, the NCAA makes
billions of dollars every year, and the NCAA acts as an employer. Your topic sentence should

That is why they should be compensated; so they could have a little extra spending money for

want. So out of the $771 million, which does not include all of the revenue from the schools,
and the 460,000 athletes (ncaa), that would only cost $690 million. That leaves about $80
million left to pay the executives. Because the NCAA acts as an employer, makes a ton of
money, and for all of the time and work the athletes put in, they should be paid. That s only about
$1000 for food and other costs for the semesters that they are playing a sport. The players are

Use Of Satire In Candide
In the novel Candide by the French Enlightenment writer and philosopher, Voltaire, the use of satire
is highly prevalent. Voltaire took many of the follies and views he disagreed with during the
Enlightenment and satirized them in this highly unrealistic and exaggerated novel. The events
throughout the novel, even if they have some connections or roots in historical events, are
seemingly preposterous and embellished because of Voltaires heavy use of satire. However, Voltaire
merely uses these embellishments to accomplish his critique of certain parts of Enlightenment
thinking that he believed were foolish or incorrect. One of Voltaire s main uses of satire is his
satirization of the philosophical optimism held by some Enlightenment philosophers. For example,
the German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz, who is mentioned briefly in the novel by
the character Pangloss, is actually where the term best of all worlds originates from (Voltaire, 139
140). Voltaire uses the main, and title, character Candideto satirize the foolishness of philosophical
optimism by having Candide go through so many hardships to prove this to readers.
The Enlightenment was a great shift in thinking and in part was inspired by the scientific revolution
and lead to many great advancements (Lecture, 9/10/14). Great thinkers and philosophers
revolutionized the way the population, regardless of class, thought about various aspects of life.

tell he has a huge crush on her. He realizes toward the end of the book that Mattie is the glimmer
of hope for him to be happy for the rest of his life. Ethan is caught in a place that he cannot
escape unless he hurts someone s life. If Ethan stays with Zeena, then he will be stuck caring for
her and living on the farm forever, and Mattie will leave end up working at a horrible job. Mattie
could possibly end up being homeless and dying in the cold winter. If he leaves Zeena to be
with Mattie, then he will risk that Zeena will lose the farm, and she will have no place to go or
anybody to care for her. Ethan couldn t choose one because of the effects it would have on the
other person. Love ended up being the motivation behind Mattie and Ethan s accident. Ethan knew,
as stated before in the essay, that he couldn t out of the place he was stuck in, so he decided it
would be better for him and Mattie to risk killing themselves. The attempt was unsuccessful, and
their lives even worse. Ethan and Mattie were now very hurt from hitting the elm tree, and they
needed Zeena to now take care of them. The

Essay about Rxn of Iodoethane with Sodium Saccharin
Title: Reaction of Iodoethane with Sodium Saccharin Ambient Nucleophile
Dates Performed: February 21 + 28, 2013
Date Submitted: March 14, 2013
Abstract:
The product ratio of N ethylsaccharin to O ethylsaccharin that occurred due to alkylation with
iodoethane at 80 oC was determined to be 81.5% to 18.5%, respectively, based on an analysis of
the 1H NMR spectrum that was collected. The melting point range of 87.8 94.7 oC also indicated
that the mixture was largely composed of N ethylsaccharin. The more prevalent product structure is:
C2H5I

N saccharin is more stable than O saccharin, so it should be the major product of the reaction, if not
the only product, if the reaction reaches thermal equilibrium. A reaction involving the oxygen as the
nucleophile should occur faster than one involving nitrogen because the oxygen is more
electronegative. This electronegativity would attract the attack of the nucleophile more so than the
Nitrogen atom would. Based on the 1H NMR spectrum that was collected, a few things can be
determined. Based on deshielding and electronegativity, the peak that occurs around 4.7ppm is
associated with the O ethylsaccharin product and the peak at 3.8 ppm is associated with the N
ethylsaccharin product. Based on the height ration, the N ethylsaccharin product is the more
prevalent result. The solvent that was chosen for the experiment is a polar aprotic solvent that can
be used to stabilize charge. This stabilization can also be used to stabilize an ionic transition state.
This stabilization of the transition state along with the nature of the products based on the chemical
properties would encourage the reaction to proceed toward the N ethylsaccharin product. This
product is more stable

Gogol as the Perfect Namesake
Gogol as the Perfect Namesake In Jhumpa Lahiri s novel The Namesake, Indian parents bestow a
Russian name to their first born baby boy; the name is Gogol Ganguli which is after the famous
Russian writer, Nikolai V. Gogol. In Lahiri s novel, the main character fights an identity crisis
because of his highly unusual name. Gogol carries uncertainty about himself throughout the novel
because of his name, He hates his name . . . that is has nothing to do with who he is, that it is
neither Indian nor American but of all things Russian (Lahiri 76). He constantly thinks the name
Gogol does not correlate with his own personality. However, upon exploration of his namesake, a
person finds the name Gogol to be the ideal name for him based on the... Show more content on

In the short story, Akaky s mother names him after his father because to give him any other name
was out of the question, (Gogol178). Also, his father is the one who gives Akaky life. And in the
novel, Ashoke gives Gogol his namesake because the short story of The Overcoat allows him a
chance to live, become a father, and give life to his son; the similar concepts of having a difficult
time naming the child and giving the child the name that gives him life, ties the characters of
Akaky and Gogol closely together; and re iterates that Gogol is the perfect namesake for Lahiri s
character based upon Nikolai Gogol s character in The Overcoat. Another aspect of Akaky that
further identifies Gogol as an ideal name for Lahiri s protagonist derives from one simple fact:
each of the main characters changed their names or persona in order to escape their
contradictory names. For instance, in the novel The Namesake, Gogol s identity crisis consumes
him to the point where he creates a new name for himself, He wonders if this is how it feels for an
obese person to become thin, for a prisoner to walk free. I m Nikhil, [he says] (Lahiri 102).
However, the name change in The Namesake is not the significant point that brings Gogol and
Akaky together like identical twins; it is the attitude each character displays once they form a new
identity. For Gogol, the new identity

The Lightning Thief And Danaus, Perseus, And The Gorgons
The two pieces of storytelling, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and Danaus,
Perseus, and the Gorgons are similar and different in multiple ways. The movie, Percy Jackson and
the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, is a modernized piece of the story, DanaГјs, Perseus, and the

In all, the two stories present similar events that follow the same journey of a hero; yet, he events
become modernized in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
The movie, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief holds a Perfect Hero ID to
Percy Jackson just like Perseus in DanaГјs, Perseus, and the Gorgon yet, the presentation of the
character changes to be more appealing to the modern times. Perseus presents himself as a selfless
hero when his actions on slaying Medusa were: Looking into the mirroring shield, Perseus
swooped down, and with one deft stroke he cut off the Medusa s head. (D aulaires, page 118)
The movie, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson decides to put
himself as this good hero when Annabeth is being harassed by the Medusa and he catches her
attention in order for Annabeth to escape and have the monster chase him around the stone and
garden shop. Both demigods show they are selfless, they will risk their life for another to be
successful, but Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief takes Perseus hero
presentation and modernizes the event to be more of this challenge for the new god, for it is more
realistic along with being more involved

Piggy s Spectacles In Lord Of The Flies
Piggy is described as an intellectually gifted boy as he possesses knowledge about different facts
largely unknown by others. His glasses, with the help of which the signal fire is started, represent
the scientific and intellectual power of the society he has been raised in. The meaning of the glasses
differs throughout the main characters of Jack, ralph, and Piggy himself, but as a generalization,
the glasses of Piggy portray advancement and innovation.
To Piggy, the owner of the spectacles, the glasses at first represented the basic ability to see. They
were thought no more of than a helpful accessory. His specs use them as burning glasses! (40,
Golding) As the story progressed and the once well mannered group slowly turned into ... Show

He has a disagreeable attitude toward them and uses Piggy s glasses to his advantage. Piggy s
glasses flew off and tinkled on the rocks. (71, Golding) When Jack slapped Piggy and broke
them, that resembled the full disorder and chaos experienced on the island. It showed how far
the group has come from orderly civilization when the glasses are misused and not being used for
smarts or reason anymore. The glasses are also one of the last remaining tools from the outside
world. The boys use this tool, instead of more primitive means, to light the signal fire which
shows the initial desire for order. But the glasses, like the conch shell, are broken by savagery.
When the glasses break, the last link the boys had to their past society is broken.
The spectacles of Piggy are essential for the storyline and play a role in the knowing of the downfall
of order and the takeover of chaos. Although each character uses them differently and has a
different attitude towards them, the glasses give the correct insight of the scientific technological
advancement that is available in the surrounding world, but not on the

Character Analysis Of Irresponsible Dale In Striking Out
Alcoholic, Irresponsible, and manipulative. These traits are of Dale who was a large influence,
but a bad one at that. These traits unfortunately reflect on the other characters within the book
Striking out by Will Weaver. In this book the main characters including Billy Baggs, Heather,
and Gina are all poorly influenced by a antagonistic person, Dale Schwartz, who was not once a
good influence to anyone within the story. Firstly Dale is being his irresponsible self who never
thinks of the consequences of his actions before he does any of them throughout the story. For
example Dale gives minors alcohol without thinking of the consequences. Now, to show just how
foolish he is, when he gives Dany alcohol he then says; I don t know what gets... Show more content

voice sounded funny, like she wasn t herself now . That last quote just goes to show how much
of a poor influence Dale was and how manipulated children to lie for him. After that dale then
threatens children with his rifle and is even condescending to them when he says; You ain t gonna
get away with this, Billy said! With what? Dale said. Nobody seems to know just what it it we re

  • 2. The Triassic-Jurassic Extinction The Triassic Jurassic extinction occurred about 210 million years ago, killing about 80 percent of all living species ( End Triassic Extinction ). Most species were hit hard, but there were no major full on extinctions. Still, cephalopods, sponges, corals, reptiles, and pollen and spore producing plants were hit hard. The dinosaurs, however, were lucky and survived the extinctionintact. This allowed them to reign supreme for the next geological epoch ( End Triassic Extinction ). During the time of the Triassic Jurassic extinction, Pangea was in the process of breaking apart. This caused major volcanic activity to occur, one of the prevailing theories as to what caused this extinction ( End Triassic Extinction ). Like during the Permian Triassic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The widely debated sixth extinction event, the Holocene extinction, is a man made weapon of mass destruction that has caused over 1000 extinct species in the past 500 years (Brannen). A mixture of deforestation, climate change, and other human impacted effects has made species die off 10 to 100 times faster than the usual background species extinction (Brannen). Well known creatures such as the Dodo Bird, Passenger Pidgeon, Tasmanian Wolf, and Golden Toad have all died due to the lack of care humans have shown for the natural world. Smithsonian paleontologist Doug Erwin, however, still maintains that the Holocene extinction is fake. Though humans have accelerated the extinction of some species and negatively impacted the environment, the actual amount of recent extinctions is almost insignificant. Compared to over half of all species dying off, a few thousand lost animals make nearly no mark in the fossil record (Brannen). Most animals and plants are not, or do not die in ways, suitable for fossilization. This makes the fossil record extremely incomplete. • 3. The Costing Method Is An Accounting Process A1. Costing Method Costing Method is an accounting process that assesses itemized input costs of production and fixed costs to determine overall costs of production. (Kucera, n.d.) Competition Bikes is performing this analysis so management can determine the optimum sales units to breakeven from its San Diego plant based on the current sales mix of 9 Titanium bicycles for every 5 CarbonLite bicycles produced. Traditional costing is an easily implemented costing method that aligns with generally accepted accounting principles, GAAP. Traditional costing is the distribution of manufacturing overhead costsacross the number of products produced based or another volume based metric. Traditional costing is very simplistic in the fact that it doesn t allocate out any nonmanufacturing costs. Traditional costing allocates costs to generic buckets such as direct material, direct labor and other overhead. Activity based costing (ABC) was developed as a costing method to overcome the weaknesses of traditional costing. ABC allocates costs to every activity, or manufacturing task, associated in the production of an item. ABC is more accurate than traditional costing. Competition Bikes grouped the following as tasks associated with the manufacturing of bicycles; Factory Setups, Quality Control, Engineering Service, Product Movements, Utilities, and Depreciation. A wide area network (WAN) is generally used by large corporations or organizations. WANs are very useful to these sorts of associations because it easily allows them to deploy data from their computers to disseminate offices. Large organizations that use multiple facilities usually end up using WANs. Smaller businesses are increasingly using WANs as well. They are able to use WANs if they have at least two secluded sites. WAN usually connects two or more LANs together. LAN stands for local area networks. The internetthat we all use is very much considered a WAN. WANs have existed for many years. They are methodical and controlled much differently from other types of telecommunication systems. WANs are very similar to LANs because they serve almost the same purpose. WANs are still a bit more intricate than LANs of course. In order for a user to use WAN, they first would have to subscribe to a telecommunication providers service. The organizations that choose to use WANs do not own or control any of the communication lines that connect the secluded network systems to other computers. WANs are not used to connect individual computers with each other. They were built to link different LANs together. When the WAN connects the LANs to each other this is called internetwork. It s generally though by no means always a grander, testable statement about how nature operates. I see scientific theory as having a great deal of support backing it to support and accepted it as true. 1.What is the difference between a scientific theory and common sense ideas about the same topic (for example, why a child seeks a bottle at birth)? A scientific theory is more like a fact than a guess because it is supported. Common sense is a usual understanding of practical matters, and common sense is vital for day to day life. The insightful meditations provide the backdrop and basis for her Trinitarian theology s embrace of God s Motherhood found in the Trinity. She was the image of one who had successfully negotiated the transition from attachment to Jesus earthly manhood to a more profound and spiritual relationship with his resurrected self. In this, her vocation is similar to Julian s, for Julian had also learned, through much suffering, that her integrity was founded not in anything the physical world could offer her, but in a spiritual relationship with Christ, developed through loving and persistent prayer. Julian recreated her visions or shewings in her visual imagery. Julian united to God, oned to God in love. Her use of painterly eyes in visual metaphors invokes the key figure of Mary Magdalene, as the lover of Christ, whose sins became no shame, but honor. She utilizes these dramatic representations of dialogue between the soul who seeks union with God who confers wholeness through relation. She calls upon all to be like Mary Magdalene in their pursuit of their love for Christ, as they mourn for their sins rather than fear God s judgments, imploring the approach of beseeching Christ in likening the par excellence fashion of the Magdalene. Though the method employed to convert Brutus is quite unprincipled, it shows, no doubt, the skill of a practical man to achieve his objective by hook or by crook. Hence, it can be counted as a plus point in his character. Brutus patriotism and self love impede him from seeing the deep chasm to which he is pushed by artful manipulation. An important item in his plan is to get rid of Mark Antonyas well, along with Caesar since he concludes that he is a potential danger to their cause. But this is over ruled by Brutus on the premise that it will foul their good intention. Brutus reaction to the suggestion is: Let s be sacrificers, but not butchers, Caius. Act 2 Scene i. Although this gives away the surprise to the reader right from the start, it allows them to understand the reasoning behind the motive and gives a better understanding. In the beginning scene, Aphrodite gives a speech about her hatred towards Hippolytus, considering he did the worst thing possible, by not worship her since he hunts all day and does not believe in sex. She then explains in the passage what she is going to do in revenge in order to get back at him for his wrongdoings. • 23. Sales Manager Memo The reason I am writing a memorandum today is to discuss the much needed new position of a Tri State Promotional Manager. The explanation for this new position will be outlined specifically and clearly to highlight how this position will help grow the new product line beyond original calculations of sales. In recent months our new sporting line Witlow Sporting Gear has increased in sales in a very steady and reasonable expected growth. However, due to the steady growth the Witlow products will flat line its profits within 8 months, according to sales data that my marketing team has prepared. My team of marketing analysts and sales strategist recommends that Thomas Sporting Goods, Inc. create a new approach for promotions for the Witlow... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has been instrumental in collecting the quantitative analysis data and sales projections for the Witlow brand line. Reginald Mimms has been with our organizations for 10 years of service; he has exceeded all sales projections that he has been in charge of. He knows Thomas Sporting Goods, Inc. inside and out; he has always had the company s best interest as top priority. As the regional Assistant Sales Manager he has proven to be an asset that we can t lose, his promotion would benefit the company greatly. Therefore, I would suggest his promotion to the new position of Tri State Promotional Manager. This promotion would initially be a five year contract, with an option to renew after the five years is up. This will not put the company into a financial debt. Mr. Mimms has chosen to take a very modest salary increase to step into this new role. After the initial five years has expired and if Thomas Sporting God, Inc. would like to retain Mr. Mimms for a longer period of time, then we will renegotiate his salary based on the new sales and profit gains that the company has experienced under his new title. In short, this is a win win situation for all involved. Please take this Memorandum into extreme ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Treating ADHD In Children The statistics are stunning, an estimated 6.4 million school age children (ages 4 17) have received a medical diagnosis of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Have you ever wondered what it is like to be diagnosed with ADHD? Take a moment and put yourself in the place of a child who has received this diagnosis. Imagine what it is like to be the boy or girl who can t stop screaming, fighting or fidgeting. The child who stares and does not focus. Everyone has an opinion about the role of medication in treating ADHD symptoms which leads to this controversy. The results from the Multimodal Treatment Study (MTA) show that medication was the single most effective treatment (Peacock, 2002) . For more than 40 years, stimulant medication has been prescribed for ADHD. There is a lot of research showing that they are safe, effective and reduces the symptoms of ADHD while they are being taken (Dudley, 2005). On the other hand, results from the study also suggested that a combination of psychological and behavioral counseling with medication is the most effective overall treatment (Dudley, 2005). Although the study suggest the use of a combination of treatments, stimulant medication should be the first line of treatment based on effectiveness. In the past, ADHD treatment has typically focused on medications. The specific class of medication most commonly prescribed for ADHD is stimulants (Martin). Stimulant medication is the best and safest way to control ADHD symptoms. Eighty percent (80%) of children respond well to one of these medications ( ADHD Children and Medication , n.d.). Stimulants such as Ritalin or Adderall are commonly prescribed, well tolerated, act quickly and in most children, have few side effects ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After viewing the circus acts that were called the 1st presidential debate and the vice presidential debate that aired earlier in the month, my expectations for the 2nd debate were not too high. Unfortunately my even my low expectations were not met and I felt as though there was not a large enough improvement during this debateto have made any difference from the first one. While we saw some improvement in terms of candidatebehavior, the rest of the debate was severely lacking in substance. Questions posed by the audience were shallow, then made even more so by the follow up questions from the moderators. On the topic of moderators, there appears to be a continuing theme of their lack of effectiveness that has carried throughout all of the debates including this one. Leading up to the 2nd debate we have seen the results of having two candidates with political views on complete opposite poles and personalities to match. The events of the first debate can easily be described as throwing water into a pot of hot oil and just watching it happen. Throughout the debate we had seen Donald Trumprepeatedly interrupt and attempt to interject as Hillary Clinton was speaking in an effort to defend himself. However this interruptions were more of a nuisance, especially due to most of them being composed of the words no and not true . Under Pressure, Dubai Drops Port Deal Essay Giorgi Murusidze Dr. Paul Wilson MBA 580.60 November 2, 2010 Under Pressure, Dubai Drops Port Deal The Dubai Port World controversy began in February 2006 and rose to prominence as a national security debate in the United States. At issue was the sale of port management businesses in six major U.S. seaports to a company based in the United Arab Emirates, and whether such a sale would compromise port security. The controversy pertained to management contracts of six major United States ports. The purchaser was DP World, a state owned company in the U.A.E. The contracts had already been foreign owned, by Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company (P O), a British firm taken over by DPW, completed in March 2006. Although ... Finally, the most important factor is security. The country will be safer when these ports are managed by Americans. The safety of the country and support of domestic companies could have influence on the reversal of the ports deal. The US public concerns did not have big influence on a business decision made by a Dubai company. More influence had the political pressure. However, public concern also played its role in this case. For example, people s opinion was that foreign states, especially those related to terrorism in the past, could not be trusted with strategic American assets. Also, they thought that foreign countries should not have managerial responsibilities over ports due to divided loyalties and concerns over national independence. Accordingly, all these public opinions were reflected and expressed by the politicians whose pressure constrained Dubai Company to withdraw. Thinking that transportation takes place through a global network of companies is slightly incorrect. Ports are vulnerable to the entry of terrorists or illicit weapons because of the large number of containers that enter U.S. territory. Accordingly, no foreign government should be permitted to own such strategic assets. There are many business assets that can be owned by foreign companies and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Observation, often defined as the action or process of watching something or someone to gain information. Throughout the semester, students within the education department had the genuine opportunity to both learn and grow as future educators through observations outside of the classroom. Throughout the semester, I chose to observe at the following programs: Breakaway at Westridge Church, Poole Elementary School s Learning Bridge, and AWANA at Callie Harbin Baptist Church. As a future educator, I learned that often observationis education as education and learning are so much more than a textbook. For my first observation, I chose to observe at a respite event known as Breakaway at Westridge Church located in Dallas Georgia. Breakaway is a cost free respite event for both special needs participants and their families. This function allows individuals of all ages to enjoy supervised entertainment and activities planned precisely for them. Breakaway, Outdoor Extravaganza, an event consisting of carnival clowns, games, outdoor inflatables, corn hole, hayrides, arts, crafts, face painting, petting zoo, music, and so much more. For example, I had the opportunity to share such a joyous day with an individual who holds my heart captive. I sat back and watched as he rode the hayride with his volunteer; consequently, my heart filled with joy as he laughed the whole way through. Once the hayride came to a close, he and his volunteer traveled to visit the fire trucks and see all of its bells and whistles as he had the chance to climb inside. In addition to all the excellent outdoor activities, each child had a chance to hang out, listen to music, see ballet dancers perform, and hear the word of God brought forth through interactive Bible stories. Lesbian mother groups fought not only against heteronormative families, but also for women s reproductive rights. Rivers underscores the advocacy of groups like the Lesbian Mother Union in favor of legal abortions, sex workers rights and health care for all women, and against forced sterilization of women of color. The author innovatively presents this advocacy work as an unrecognized part of the 1960 s sexual revolution. It would be interesting to analyze the reverse, that is, the impact the free to love revolution had on the general population s perception of the LGBT community. Lesbian mother groups also fundraised money for custody cases. Women who left their heterosexual marriage faced the possibility of custody loss, poverty, and employment discrimination. The author explores the magnified struggles of Black gay women but fails to do so with Black gay men. Rivers credits the gay father groups, which were politically centered, for 1990 s gay family respectability. The narrative of gay father communities lacks the intense anguish present on the chapters about lesbian mothers; it is more factual and impersonal. This shortcoming can probably be explained by River s upbringing in lesbian community, and, therefore, less extensive contact with the male gay community. The author describes the ... • 35. The Concept Of Sin In Dante Alighieri s Inferno Dante Alighieri s Inferno is the first of three books in The Divine Comedy. A comedy in Dante s time didn t mean what it means today: a comedy was a piece of literature that moved from dark to light or from damnation to salvation in the eyes of God. In The Inferno, Dante delves into darkness and damnation, and his view of the nature of Hell. Dante was a devout Catholic, so most of his inspiration for The Inferno came from the Bible. In Dante s version of Hell, there are nine circles that reach to the center of the Earth: Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Avarice and Prodigality, Wrath and Sullenness, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. Those who commit the least severe sins are put near the top, as in Limbo, and the worst sins at the bottom come with the worst punishments. Dante, the character in the book, is escorted by the poet Virgilto literally explore Dante s descent into sin. To better understand the book s concept of sin, the reader should compare the least sinful part of Hell, Limbo, to the most sinful part of Hell, the ninth circle where Satan is kept. The poem begins with Dante waking up in a forest. Dante tries to climb the mountain and sees three beasts: a leopard, a lion, and a wolf. Later, Dante meets Virgil, a Roman poet Dante is fond of, to help him climb the mountain. Virgil says they have to go through Hell first before reaching Heaven, where Beatrice, a woman Dante loved in real life, will be waiting for him. Eventually, Dante and Virgil get to the first ... • 36. The Crucifixion Of Christ By William Shakespeare The Crucifixion of Christ is a one of the most frequented religious themes seen during Gothic Italian panel paintings of the 13th and 14th century. Throughout the Strauss Collection at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston the panel paintings often have a series of narratives alongside portraits that the viewer is able to read through the composition of the panels. One narrative that is of high importance is of The Crucifixion. Because it is so important, this scene is often arbitrarily placed in panels just to emphasize the engagement of the viewer to the importance of religion and the church. The setting of the The Crucifixion is quite the same in most if not all crucifixion paintings, with the placement of a triangular dialogue beginning with the Virgin, Christ, Saint John, and Saint MaryMagdalene. Another common characteristic in crucifixion scenes is the emotional representation of the figures pictured. Although there is an established display of facial expressions in Italian Gothic art, there seems to be more of an emotional connection in this particular type of narrative than other common religious themes. Looking at The Crucifixion scene of the Anon. Florentine Panel its counterpart, The Nativity scene does not pose the same emotional engagement in both the viewers and the characters displayed. • 40. Use Of Satire In Candide In the novel Candide by the French Enlightenment writer and philosopher, Voltaire, the use of satire is highly prevalent. Voltaire took many of the follies and views he disagreed with during the Enlightenment and satirized them in this highly unrealistic and exaggerated novel. The events throughout the novel, even if they have some connections or roots in historical events, are seemingly preposterous and embellished because of Voltaires heavy use of satire. However, Voltaire merely uses these embellishments to accomplish his critique of certain parts of Enlightenment thinking that he believed were foolish or incorrect. One of Voltaire s main uses of satire is his satirization of the philosophical optimism held by some Enlightenment philosophers. For example, the German philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz, who is mentioned briefly in the novel by the character Pangloss, is actually where the term best of all worlds originates from (Voltaire, 139 140). Voltaire uses the main, and title, character Candideto satirize the foolishness of philosophical optimism by having Candide go through so many hardships to prove this to readers. The Enlightenment was a great shift in thinking and in part was inspired by the scientific revolution and lead to many great advancements (Lecture, 9/10/14). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... N saccharin is more stable than O saccharin, so it should be the major product of the reaction, if not the only product, if the reaction reaches thermal equilibrium. A reaction involving the oxygen as the nucleophile should occur faster than one involving nitrogen because the oxygen is more electronegative. This electronegativity would attract the attack of the nucleophile more so than the Nitrogen atom would. Based on the 1H NMR spectrum that was collected, a few things can be determined. Based on deshielding and electronegativity, the peak that occurs around 4.7ppm is associated with the O ethylsaccharin product and the peak at 3.8 ppm is associated with the N ethylsaccharin product. Based on the height ration, the N ethylsaccharin product is the more prevalent result. The solvent that was chosen for the experiment is a polar aprotic solvent that can be used to stabilize charge.
