Considering the nature of your resources
Carry out an audit of the resources required for the setting up and running of your festival.
(You may wish to break into groups to complete this task; each group considering one of
the areas identified below and reporting back to the class.)
Your audit should consider:
1 Facilities, spaces and venues:
a) Consider the size and shape of each space you intend to use.
- We had enough space for everything
b) Is it specialist space e.g. a theatre space or simply a ‘room’?
- Hall, Gym and classrooms
c) How might the space be adapted for your use?
- We are going to use all the space we need.
d) What health and safety issues need to be considered? (E.g. fire exits, maximum
room capacity.)
- There will be an ambulance and some areas of the buildings
are going to be blocked for the people coming to the festival so
that nobody gets injured.
2 Equipment:
a) Is all the equipment needed available or will you need to borrow or hire some
items?
- We are going to be hiring two bouncy castles, nail artist, face painting artist,
balloon maker, East End Women’s Institution
b) Who will set up and/or operate the equipment?
- The Volunteers and our Creative media class will set up everything and will be in
charge of everything on the day of the festival. Everyone will be told what to do on
the day of the festival.
c) What health and safety issues need to be considered? (E.g. operation of machinery,
lifting or moving heavy equipment.)
