The Battle Of The Imperial Crisis
Prior to the Imperial Crisis 1763 1775, Great Britain had a few set backs all while carrying the world
on their shoulders. France was quickly moving out of North America and Spain was out of Florida, all
while loosing power, allowing for Great Britain to only move up. After about one hundred years of
continuous war, Great Britain had found themselves sinking in a pile of national debt due to the fact
that they borrowed money by collected taxes to reduce or try and stabilize the debt they had already
piled up. Another problem that arose was that the British taxpayers demanded and received many tax
cuts, which reduced government income, only reducing the spending. Limiting spending only hurt
Britain more, because it was very tough to decrease the disbursement when you are the biggest world
power and have the responsibility to maintain a large army and navy, all well protecting your colony
from the growing of large, powerful enemies. America, unlike Great Britain, had the colonists pay
light taxes to the colonial government, allowing for whatever needed to be done, to be done, by taxing
themselves. Britain s taxes were for regulation, and not for profit, unlike America up until 1764 when
the British Parliament changed all policies and enacted laws to make money from the colonists. This
new imperial system consisted of three goals: the ability to provide for colony security, the reassertion
of authority over the colonies, and the shift of financial burden of war debt and

Lgbt Support Groups
Many would agree that the teenage years can be challenging, difficult and confusing for teenagers and
their parents. However, compared to heterosexual youth the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender
teenager (LGBT) teen faces increased challenges and difficulties as a result of their sexual orientation.
Parents can provide an influential role in their teenagers role through effective listening, support and
communication. The need for support groups for parents of LGBTQ teens has never been greater.
Negative attitudes toward lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) people put these youth at increased risk for
experiences with violence, compared with other students.1 Violence can include behaviors such as
bullying, teasing, harassment, physical assault, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social workers can play multiple leadership roles in groups (Kirst Ashman, Hull, 2015).
An explanation of the potential dynamics to be aware of when running this particular group.
The potential dynamics to be aware when conducting support group parents of LGBTQ teens are the
mindsets of the parents. Each parent has a set frame of reference, possible prejudices, stereotypes, and
lack of knowledge. The dynamics can be the very factors that help facilitate a healthy group
interacting along with the parents.
Conclusion
Ongoing research is needed in determining the most effective ways parents can interact positively with
their Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender (LGBT) teenager. However, as discussed, there are ways in
which parents can effectively interact with their Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT)
teenagers that can enhance the relationship, and provide a positive outcome for the teenager. A parent
s response to their teen s sexual orientation can have greatly impact the teens mental and physical

Capulet And Lady Capulet In William Shakespeare s Romeo...
Similar to a parasite, Juliet, the daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet in the play Romeo and Juliet by
William Shakespeare, is a character who is very dependent and doesn t formulate her own opinion. So,
throughout the course of the story, Juliet develops her own thoughts and continuously becomes more
independent according to the experiences she faces, consisting of disobeying her parents, falling
deeply in love with Romeo and finally accomplishing her liberty. William Shakespeare has created
Juliet by interpreting her as a character who has transferred from a dependent person to an
independent person. For instance, while Juliet was asking the nurse about the fight between Romeo
and Tybalt, Juliet says, What storm is this that blows so contrary? ... Show more content on

Exchange Analysis On The Realms Of Financial Trading
Exchange can be defined in a number of ways, it is the process of giving or taking an
object/thing/commodity in return for another (Merriam Webster, 2017). Or as defined by Investopedia
(2017) an exchange is a marketplace in which securities, commodities, derivatives and other financial
instruments are traded . The element of financial instruments however can be brought into question. It
can be hypothesised that exchange does not always have to exist within in the realms of financial
trading. The exchange journal exercise challenged my idea of exchange as it highlighted the inherent
sociality of exchange relationships. In response to this it also highlighted the capitalist underpinnings,
allowing for insight into the ways in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The agency and sociality of commodities can be exhibited by an exchange via Vic Deals between my
flatmates and I and a person down the road from us.
Our flat requires a couch, it is an object we desire and thus are happy to exchange money, for a couch.
Money however is a fictious commodity as a commodity, according to Polanyi (2001) as something
produced for consumption however money is not consumed; it just circulates through markets acting
as a stand in representing the value of commodities. After locating a couch on Vic Deals we then
message the seller of the couch. Through Facebook a social exchange of basic details, including the
location of the couch, occurs. This is a purely social exchange however it could be argued that
Facebook is gaining revenue via advertising and our patronage on their website. To me when I
actually began to think about capitalism in a deeper sense I realised just how engrained into day to day
life it is, you don t have to be making a purchase in order to interact with capitalist systems. It turns
out that the couch is located very near to our flat which adds the element of convenience to this
ongoing exchange. We decide to go look at the couch and then after looking at we decide to purchase
this couch.
My flatmate transfers $125 to the seller s bank account; in this exchange, the only physical handing
over of goods/commodities is us receiving the couch. Whilst the money does exist it is not in physical
form and is only transferred from

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Western Culture
ABSTRACT The Philippines is one of the most westernized countries in Asia, and western influence
was easily accepted and adopted by Filipinos. This can be seen in the Philippine culture until today.
Westernization can have different advantages and disadvantages in terms of food, music and education
in the Philippines. One of the disadvantages includes the decrease of national sentiment in each
Filipino, especially the teens today, while one of the advantages is that teens still follow the Filipinos
way of greeting which is to bless and say po and opo when talking to elders. This study aims to raise
awareness of the different effects of being a westernized country.

discusses how the young adults, specifically the students of the College of Liberal Arts in De La Salle
University Manila are exposed to the western culture. Aside from that, the researchers would want to
know the different advantages and disadvantages of Westernization in terms of food, music and
education. This may also help other researchers who will be studying about this topic to add to their
ideas.
The researchers made use of survey forms, answered by the College of Liberal Arts students of De La
Salle University Manila. The researchers personally approached students one by one. The students
were asked to spare two minutes of their time to answer the survey. The respondents waited for the
students to finish answering to assure the accomplishment of the surveys and for any clarifications.
This was done only for a week.

Being in speech and debate you have to have a quick response to whatever your opponent says, this
has proven helpful to the development of my problem solving abilities. Being a quick thinker is
essential to speech and debate as well. This is quite an easy one to apply to the server as there are
many many problems that moderator s have to deal with. My second strength would have to be
optimism. As a moderator you want to keep up the happy, peaceful community that inhabits this
server, and if you were a pessimist as a moderator, instead of making people happy, you would make
them upset. Being an optimist, it is very easy to see the good in things and be a happy person whilst on
the server whereas it is very easy to get yourself down as a pessimist.
My third and final strength would be my friendliness. One of the aspects of being friendly is being
nice and both of those are major essentials to the server. If you aren t nice, a drama will ensue and
drama is bad for everyone and it would be a great idea not to get yourself tangled within the core of it.

Essay On Taxing Assets
A government taxing their constituency based upon their estate dates back over two thousand years
ago. In 700 B.C. the ancient Egyptians placed taxes on transfers of property at death. Subsequently the
Roman Emperor, August Caesar, placed a tax on successions of realities of the deceased. As societies
grew along with it grew and modified the idea of an estate tax and taxation in general. In America
specifically taxing assets was first realized with the implementation of the Stamp Act of 1797. This act
required a federal stamp on wills in probate. However this was repealed in 1802. In the decades to
come estate taxes were viewed to be necessary to raise the funds to finance wars. The Revenue Act of
1862 implemented a federal inheritance tax ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was also a tax placed on estates and excess business profits. However unlike in pervious times
in American history, this tax did not go away following World War One. Throughout the lifetime of
the act it has experienced numerous changes but could be cited as the core foundation that assisted in
the establishment of the current estate tax.
Estate taxes are defined as the taxes on privilege of transferring property at death and are typically
determined by the size of the decedent s estate. This consists of counting everything a decedent owns
or has interests in at the date of death and determining their fair market value (Jacobson). The gross
estate is then taken, while permitting deductions and a taxable estate if made. Since the act of 1916,
the ever changing landscape of taxation can be broken down into two distinct time periods. These
periods are 1916 1948 and 1976 to present.
The first notable change following the Revenue Act of 1916 was a tax placed on inter vivo gifts. This
then became a permanent feature in 1932 and was due to the fact that congress recognized the wealthy
individual s ability to find a loophole to avoid such estate taxation by giving things away as a gift. In
1935 alternate valuation was implemented through the Revenue act of that same year. This then
allowed for an estate to be valued 1 year following a descents death. This was then later altered to just

This hardware also contains memory chips onto which the software is loaded. The software residing
on the memory chip is also called the ”firmware¶. The embedded system architecture can be
represented as a layered architecture as shown in Fig. The operating system runs above the hardware,
and the application software runs above the operating system. The same architecture is applicable to
any computer including a desktop computer. However, there are significant differences. It is not
compulsory to have an operating system in every embedded system. For small appliances such as
remote control units, air conditioners, toys etc., there is no need for an operating system and you can
write only the software specific to that application. For applications involving complex processing, it
is advisable to have an operating system. In such a case, you need to integrate the application software
with the operating system and then transfer the entire software on to the memory chip. Once the
software is transferred to the memory chip, the software will continue to run for a long time you don¶t
need to reload new software. 2.2 Characteristics 1. Embedded systems are designed to do some

History Of The Atomic Model Paper
History of the Atomic Model Paper Philip Wang Over the course of the last 5000 years, mankind s
knowledge has been constantly advancing. Chemistry, a branch of science, has experienced a
tremendous leap and expansions since ancient Greek civilization. One of the major breakthroughs in
the advancement in Chemistry was the creation of the Atomic theory, which laid a foundation for the
modern day Chemistry and future of science. The Atomic theory introduced the idea of atoms, which
are defined as the discrete units of matter. There are five key scientists that significantly contributed to
the Atomic model over a span of thousands of years. They are: Democritus, John Dalton, J.J.
Thompson, Ernest Rutherford, and Niels Bohr. Democritus, an Ancient Greek philosopher, is widely
considered to be the founding father of the Atomic Theory. Democritus proposed that matter is
composed of atoms, which move through empty space. He also proposed that atoms are solid,
homogeneous, indestructible, and indivisible, and that different types of atoms have different kinds of
sizes and shapes, which determine the properties of matter. Democritus and other Greek philosophers
Leucippus and Epicurus, were among the first to propose the size, shape, and connectivity of atoms.
Democritus theorized that iron atoms are solid with hooks (which locked them in place with each
other, therefore creating a solid), water atoms are smooth and slippery, (which caused them to be in a
liquid state),

Oppression Of Laws And Law
There are no inherent definitions of right and wrong because we live in a world where there are
countless interpretations of what those two words mean. So much of the time, right and wrong are
defined by authority and reinforced by tradition. The people who are privileged, the ones in power,
they decide right and wrong for the scores of people that follow them. They could have good
intentions or they could be self serving, but it wouldn t matter, because in the end their word is law.
Laws therefore cannot protect justice, just reflect the wills of their writers. Since the definitions of
right and wrong cannot be pinned down, if one wished to have a legal system uphold justice, the laws
would need to be ever changing. However, laws that benefit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

One of the biggest grievance of being marginalized is in the definition, one is seen as insignificant or
as an outsider. The marginalized will never win in a shouting match against the majority because no
one is listening. Peaceful resistance draws the attention to the oppressed, a very hard feat to
accomplish without undermining one s cause. Martin Luther King Jr. and others that participated in
the Birmingham protests in the 1960s helped raise awareness about the atrocities that were committed
in the city (Letter from a Birmingham Jail [King, Jr.]). These protests demanded acknowledgement for
those exploited and persecuted, and led to great reform. Without said reform, America would not be
able to call itself a free society today. Whether peaceful protests are just or not is not the most
important aspect of them, they cause citizens to question their belief in laws, which is how a society
evolves. As Charles Frankel reminds readers in his article Is it Right to Break the Law? citizens need
to take responsibility for their choices and their hand in making laws. Peaceful protest help to make
others aware of their hand in the subjugation or empowerment of others. Aware citizens are necessary
for free society, without them, citizens blindly following delivers the government back into the hands

CRA is a vague area and it can be one person s word against the other when it goes sour. Ethical
principles are based on the individual or group and what they think is right or wrong. What may seem
right to some maybe wrong to others. So companies need to keep in mind the different beliefs. There
is also a right to privacy, so by implementing a CRA it should be clear. Nonfraternization policies
Having clear policies that govern behaviors and relationships acceptable in the workplace is the first
step employers should take to control dangerous workplace romances (Lieber 2008). There are
different types of nonfraternization policies. Some employees ban on any dating in the workplace.
They are not legally enforced because they are considered overbroad. Another policy prohibits
supervisors from dating and employee because of the power between the two may cause the employee
to feel pressured to start or stay in the relationship and finally the most common and most
recommended policy prohibits supervisors from dating subordinates who are in the supervisor s direct
chain of command. Ethical behavior should be considered when allowing workplace romance. I think
from an employer s perspective they have to consider certain things such as respecting a person s
moral principles such as honesty, fairness, equality, respecting the dignity, diversity and the rights of
other people. Being ethical means doing the right thing in any situation.

What Is The Theme Of 2pac
2Pac Shakur landed in the top ten again this week with Changes , and so it appears that he is enjoying

First of all, as the saying goes, it takes one to know one. 2Pac s criminal past and time in prison have
earned him respect among troubled, black youth. But what s more, he speaks to them in their
language, a lyrical, almost sophisticated form of Ebonics or African American Vernacular English
(AAVE). The rhythm and rhyme of the lyrics is engaging and compelling, which we see in the afore
mentioned lines, jack you up, back you up / crack you up and pimp smack you up. The verb, to pimp
smack one up exemplifies the poetic style of street speech. Finally he addresses his audience as his
brothers , he uses the word nigga in a permissible context and alludes casually to Huey , a.k.a. Huey P.
Lewis, co founder of the Black Panthers. These are all in group markers, which help establish his
credit and rapport among African Americans in general and black gangsters specifically. It is for these
reasons that he has earned the right to speak to them about these complex issues.
In the midst of the many depressing scenarios that 2Pac sketches from children dying of drug abuse to
the constant fear of being killed by an old enemy ( I never get to lay back / Cause I always got to

American Carnival Masks
Venetian carnival masks are a centuries old tradition of Venice , Italy . The purpose of the masks was
to hide the identity of the people who wore them . People usually wore them at carnivals or special
occasions , usually people like wearing them so they can speak to others without them judging them
for example if they ve had a rough past and they don t want people to know how they are because
maybe they wont want to speak to them , or maybe they like to wear them so they wont have romantic
encounters , or maybe they just want to tell people their ideas or express there feeling without being
judged or laughed at. There were different types of masks for example there is the bautta mask which
covers the whole face and it was a traditional piece of art . To describe the mask you can say it has a
stubborn chin line , it has no mouth and has lots of gliding . There is also the Columbina and it is also
known as Columbine and Columbino , and this mask is a half mask and it is often highly decorated
with gold , silver , crystals and feathers . This mask is held up to the face by a baton or it could also be

Credit History Essay
Credit history is a record of a borrower s responsible repayment of debts. When an American customer
fills
out an application for credit from a bank, credit card company, or a store, there information is
forwarded to a credit bureau. These organizations match the name, address, and other identifying
information on the credit applicant with
information found in the files of the credit bureaus. The gathered records are then used by lenders to
determine an individual s credit worthiness that is determining an individual s ability and track record
of repaying a debt. Lenders will extend credit to individuals who have paid consumer debt obligations
regularly and on time, while those
who missed payments are more likely to be declined.
How are credit scores, also known as FICO scores, calculated?
Payment history makes up 35% of the credit score/FICO score. A record of negative information can
lower a
consumer s credit rating or score negative events such as charge offs, collections, late payments,
repossessions, foreclosures, settlements, bankruptcies and judgments can affect the FICO score
greatly. Newer offenses have a greater affect than older offenses, and many is worse than a few. Debt
and debt history makes up 30% of the FICO score.
Three types of debt, revolving debt, installment debt, and open debt all contribute to an individual s
credit score. Revolving debt is credit card debt, and while home equity lines of credit have revolving
terms, the bulk of debt

Leadership Style Of Leadership Styles
Leadership styles vary amongst every person in a leadership role. Styles may be categorized as
authoritarian, procedural, transformational, participative and laissez fair. Following an assessment of
my own leadership style (How to find your style of leadership, 2016) it appears that my style of
leadership is characterized as laissez faire. I m a leader who is not formally recognized but rather
involves the entire team and makes informed decisions based on group ideas, discussions and team
decisions. The amount of control I typically have is low and I expect my team to contribute ideas and
decisions but ultimately, I am responsible for the final decisions and the success or failure. Assessment
Results I was absolutely not surprised by the results of my assessment. By nature, I am more of a
follower than a leader. This assessment proved my theory to be correct. I am hesitant in making
uniformed and risky decisions professionally as well as personally. I have always relied heavily on a
team of people I can trust and to help me make informed choices. Perhaps I lack self confidence in my
decision making skills, so I lean on others for guidance and support. The personal feeling of
disappointing someone is overwhelming me to the point where I am afraid to make any decisions
without help from another source. I understand I am human and humans make mistakes. The point of
mistakes is to learn from them. However, it is still hard to deal with disappointing someone on an

important part of her. The slogan of the ad is a miracle sleeping cream/for more rested, younger

miracles. Additionally, it suggests that staying young and beautiful are synonymous as well as a job
that a woman has to work at even when they are unconscious because youth/beauty is a 24 hour

Relationship Between Father And Fate In The Odyssey
Father and Son Relationships Determine Fate and Destiny The Odyssey, by Homer, is one of the most
influential texts of Western literature and it is paralleled to The Aeneid, by Virgil. Father and son
relationships are very important to Greek culture, as evident in the relationship between Odysseus and
Telémakhos in The Odyssey. Hundreds of years after The Odyssey was transcribed, Virgil continued
to recognize the importance of the father and son relationship and he incorporated it into The Aeneid
by focusing on Anchises and Aeneas. Both epics revolve around and delve into the valued father and
son relationship. This relationship is so important to Greek and Roman culture that it has an effect on
the idea of fate and destiny. Throughout The Odyssey and The Aeneid, the relationship between the
father and son is responsible for determining their fate and destiny.
The fate of Odysseus and Anchises is thoroughly influenced by their respective sons. Throughout
Odysseus s journey, Odysseus wants to give up because of all the hardships he has to face. His son,
Telémakhos, serves as his motivation for coming home and drives his will to live and fight his
hardships at sea. At one point, Odysseus considers giving up so he will not need to face the sea raging/
under such winds anymore (Homer 5.314 315). In spite of his moment of weakness, he continues to
fight for his destiny of homecoming to reunite with his son. Telémakhos encourages Odysseus to
achieve his destiny. Likewise,

Environmental Impact On Habitat Fragmentation
Habitat fragmentation is happening all around the world, even in developed countries such as the USA
and UK, and is having a detrimental impact on species biodiversity (Hanski, 2015). Habitat
fragmentation is a process by which a landscape is transformed into an unsuitable habitat for the
present species. When a habitat becomes fragmentated this results in the habitats to develop into
smaller patches and can even create patches of isolation, completely different to its original state
(Fahrig, 2003). Fragmentation can occur naturally, through processes such as wildfires and windfall
however, with the constant increase in human population (7 billion in 2017), habitat fragmentation is
becoming more frequent and destructive due to the rise in human land use (Oikos, 1994).
Healthy biodiversity cannot be maintained with habitat fragmentation being present, as this will
decrease habitat space, structure and connectivity causing a decline in biodiversity. To measure the
impacts habitat fragmentation is having on species, there have been certain methods which have been
conducted to understand its full impact (Oikos, 1994). Some methods include comparing species
richness in artificial habitat fragmentation patches to species richness in normal conditions, or the
common one being used is to test the relationship between density and patch size. When assessing
habitat fragmentation, species richness is the point of call, as this is believed to not only show the
number of species,

Edgar Allan Poe Homoeroticism Analysis
Edgar Allan Poe s multifaceted representation of homoeroticism through The Murders in the Rue
Morgue, The Mystery of Marie RĂŽget, and The Purloined Letter is truly a departure from typical
nineteenth century portrayals of same sex desire within literature. Rather than being something that
Poe strives to suppress, the homoeroticism present throughout all three Dupin tales is meticulously
ingrained into the structure of the texts and unapologetically nurtured, whether it be through individual
characters behavior or through the explicit exploration of homosocial relationships between men.
What allows Dupin, the narrator, and the Minister s this foray into the realm of non normative
sexuality is Poe s embrace of the nineteenth century bachelor

Separation Anxiety Disorder Case Study
Lisa is a 40 year old military veteran. Lisa made two tours of Iraq between 2003 and 2007 as a soldier.
Two years ago, Lisa witnessed an armed robbery in a convenience store. Soon after it, she began
experiencing panic attacks and elevated levels of anxiety. I will consider anxiety disorders and
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) defined by Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental
Disorders, fifth edition (DSM 5) (2013) as Lisa s potential diagnoses.
Although Separation Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is more typical for children, adults can be diagnosed
with it if the disturbance persists for 6 months or more. Patients experience marked anxiety and fear to
be separated from their home or from an attachment figure. They may have nightmares about
separation and are reluctant to go out of the home. Since Lisa does not feel anxiety about separation
from a significant figure or from her home, I rule out this diagnosis.
Selective Mutism is presented in DSM 5 as predominantly (but not exclusively) a disorder of children.
It is characterized by inability to speak in specific social situations despite general capacity of
speaking and communicating. Lisa did not report any social situations in which she failed to speak or
communicate. Therefore, I rule out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Performance Enhancing Drugs
Performance Enhancing Drugs Performance enhancing drugs are banned in the US. So why do so
many athletes continue to use them? What are performance enhancing drugs exactly? Performance
enhancing drugs, more commonly known as doping , steroids ,or PEDs , are substances that are used
to improve athletic performance and help athletes recover quickly from injuries. PEDs may increase
athletic abilities, but the long term effects can be fatal and will put athletes careers at risk. Of course,
performance enhancing drugs are great for improving athletes overall performance. Anabolic steroids
are natural and synthetic substances which help build muscle mass, enabling athletes to train harder
and recover quickly from strenuous workouts, claims CNN.According to Health Guidance, someone
who is on steroids experiences increased physical performance in all sports and athletic pursuits and

Persuasive Essay On Dogs
Plato was quoted as saying [a] dog has the soul of a philosopher ( ). Plato was one of the most
influential philosophers in history, and he agreed that dogs are more than just animals. Dogs have
always been extremely popular animals, and for good reason. They are incredibly intelligent, talented,
and versatile. Due to these characteristics, dogs are able to adopt many different positions. Dogs can
take on many roles in society including household pets, service or therapy dogs, police dogs, and
search and rescue dogs. Dogs are a staple in the typical American household. Even the White House
has been home to many dogs over the years, as every president since Warren Harding, excluding
Donald Trump, has owned a dog ( ). According to a study done by the American Pet Products
Association, about 44% of American households have a dog ( ). That is almost half of all American
homes. There are types of dog for every household. Golden retrievers are good for families with kids
because they are so gentle. Labrador retrievers and other energetic dogs are good for people with
active lifestyles. Chihuahuas and other smaller breeds are good for people who prefer to stay inside.
The American Kennel Club has an online test to determine what breed of dog would best suit a person
s lifestyle depending on many factors, such as location, activity level, and how many kids live in their
home ( ). The test can help people to determine what dog they would most likely want. There is

Genre Of Romantic Comedy
Genre theory is a short cut of how we define films. Genre theory is used to help simplify which
category a film is categorized. A genre is a type or category of film that can be easily identified by
specific elements of its plot, setting, mise en scĂšne, character types, or style. Genres are not stagnant
categories. The study of their evolution is nothing short of the study of film and the filmgoing public
itself. When we break down types of film into categories, we can then observe how they have changed
over the years to reflect the tastes of the audience while retaining the elements that put them into the
genre in the first place. (Goodykoontz Jacobs, 2014) One specific genre and least flexible, is romantic
comedy, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Addiction Of Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is based in the real world, with Greek mythology mixed into
the storyline. Percy, son of Poseidon, must rescue his mother from Hades as well as preventing a feud
from erupting between the Gods on Mount Olympus that would wreak havoc on the Earth. During this
quest Percy Jackson and his friends are invited into the Lotus Hotel and Casino. There they are
engaged in playing games and start to lose track of time, similar to losing oneself in a casino in the
real world. The author of Addiction by Design: Machine Gambling in Las Vegas, Natasha Dow Schull,
researched why casinos were so addicting and the various elements that went into the building of the
casinos in order to keep as many patrons for as long as possible. Casinos are an addicting technology,
they are built for people to step inside and never want to leave. Casinos have been articulated with
concepts of gambling addiction and people s reluctance to step away from the games, whether it is
written in a book or studied in real life. Percy Jackson and his friends are invited into a casino and
before long are addicted to the flashing lights and the winning that the casinos offer, despite the notion
that they are being given thousands of dollars of free stuff, they are already being mind controlled into
not focusing on reality, but simply the games. After traveling for so long, Percy and his friends are too

Anthropometric Predictprs Of Quadruple Hamstring Graft...
ANTHROPOMETRIC PREDICTPRS OF QUADRUPLE HAMSTRING GRAFT DIAMETER FOR
ACL RECONSTRUCTION
Naiyer Asif
INTRODUCTION
Among ligament reconstruction, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most commonly
reconstructed ligament of the knee. Many graft options are available for ACL reconstruction. Bone
patellar tendon bone autograft has rigid fixation and has bone to bone healing, but it has donor site
morbidity, among the complications ,anterior knee pain is the most common.
The quadrupled hamstring autograft is obtained by harvesting the semitendinosus and the gracilis
tendons at the pes anserinus and then folding them over twice to create 4 strands. Failure, however can
be prevented using a graft that is significantly stronger than the native ACL, and graft strength has
been found to be directly propotional to the cross sectional area of the graft.
Scott and Insall concluded that the length of normal ACL is 38mm (25 41mm) and the width is 10mm
(7 12mm), on average In order to have a optimal 7cm quadrupled graft construct for ACL
reconstruction (2cm in the femoral tunnel, 3cm intra articular, and 2cm in the tibial tunnel), it is
essential to obtain a minimum tendon length of 28cm (ranged from 28 to 30cm) and it should have a
minimum thickness of 7mm. Grafts used for ACL reconstructions which have smaller thickness have
been shown to be weaker graft length could also inïŹ‚uence the thickness by multiple looping.
Sometime harvesting an adequately sized hamstring graft may not

The book 1984 was written by George Orwell in 1948, the main theme of this book is social science
fiction. A underlying theme is this book is a dystopian future: the social, economical, and political
problems are issues that are lied about, prove this. When looking at the social aspect of life in 1984 all
social groups are treated very different yet at the same time are all treated the same. In 1984 there is a
very obvious hierarchal system; the top is The Inner Party, than The Outer Part, and on the bottom of
the list are the proles. In Oceania this society strictly follows this, and does not deviate from these set

As usual, there was no definite rule against talking to proles and frequenting their pubs, but it was far
too unusual an action to pass unnoticed (87). This just shows how odd it is for Party Members to talk
to proles, but when a Party Member does need to they do it knowing only a little backlash will happen
if they are questioned. The proles live in parts of Oceania that are the slums of the state. As Winston
walks around the proles part of town, he brings up that it doesn t smell good at all. If there was hope, it
must lie in the proles, because only there, in those swarming disregarded masses, eighty five percent

individuals who were judged capable of becoming dangerous: but no attempt was made to indoctrinate
them with the ideology of the party (71). The party Doesn t want to waste their resources on the proles

Suppose George decide to produce X bottles of Brand I and Y bottles of Brand II
Then the total profit function to be maximised is [pic]
Total amount required is [pic].
Hence the constraint on the funds becomes C1: [pic]
Further it is given that the proportion of Brand I should be between 40% and 60%. The corresponding

I Can Remember Mine With Perfect Clarity Essay
As babies most of us go through some sort of traumatic experience. Whether it be a high fever from an
illness or a near miss car wreck. Nine times out of ten we never remember these incidents, with only
stories from relatives to know that they happened. I can remember mine with perfect clarity. At the age
of one year old, one day before my second birthday, I sat in my day care with my hands leaning back
looking up at the colorful displays. While it is illegal in North Carolina to not have heavy bookshelves
mounted to the ground, this day care had chosen to forgo that rule and use them as room dividers. A
little boy on the other side of the divider with sandy blond hair shoved his backpack into the cubby,
excited to go out and play among his friends. One of the poorly taken care of wheels on the bottom of
this bookshelf collapsed toppling over onto my hand, crushing almost every bone in the process and
partially severing two of my fingers on my left hand. After 3 blood transfusions, a life flight trip to
Duke Hospital, 3 later surgeries, and careful reconstruction, I am now left with a functioning hand
albeit slightly deformed on the two severed fingers. These incredible doctors were able to save the nail
bed although my middle finger curves over somewhat bent inward along with some scarring. This is
what life would be like for me with a perfect hand for three days.
Day one, I would wake up in my bed and sit up. I would excitedly run my fingers through my hair like

Following the Second World War, Canada has made various efforts to improve its peacekeeping

some mistakes along the way. A few examples of Canada s efforts within the last 60 years include the

The Impact Of Piracy On The Internet Essay
The Impact of Piracy
According to the Motion Pictures Association of America website, A pirate is anyone who sells,
acquires, copies or distributes copyrighted materials without permission. Over the past ten years,
technology has greatly advanced, and with these technological advances, digital file sharing easier
than ever. One aspect of these advances is faster Internet connection, which has made it easier to
download large files in the matter of minutes. Whereas in the past majority of people had dial up
Internet services which in most cases the download rate was no more than 10 kilobytes per second.
Some Internet providers today offer speeds up to one gigabyte per second, which to put in perspective;
a DVD size is usually around 4 gigabytes, so technically someone could download an exact replica of
a DVD in a matter of minutes if not seconds. But even in the dial up era, internet piracy was an issue,
where programs such as Napster made it easy for people to share files with people all over the world.
Napster, was the first well known peer to peer sharing software where users were able to directly
download songs from other users. Napster surfaced in 1999 and most internet users embraced it open
arms as they were able to download their favorite songs at the comfort of their home for free. Napster
s reign only lasted about two years, after which the record companies caught on, and noticed that
Napster was affecting their sales, and lawsuits

Southern Subculture Of Violence
Subcultures of violence are mostly described by its norms, identifiable values or shared views for their
communication which orders the use of violence in various circumstances. Subcultures are not entirely
different from a larger culture to which they re surrounded. On the other hand, the subcultural
supporters contribute many social beliefs of the dominant culture and observe a separate set of
principles and ideals that are not overlooked by the larger class of society. Observing to the beliefs of
a subculture of violence or the use of violence in a particular situation isn t just to tolerate it, but to
expect it. This expectation promotes an ideal behavior, meaning that opposing agreements can occur if
violence isn t used in a situation for which subcultural rules request it. Generally, the most discussed
subcultures of violence both said to be found in America are the Black subculture of violence and

phenomenon resulting from 200 years of immersion in the Southern culture of violence, and carried
out of the South with the great migration in the first half of the 20th century. This hypothesis thus

definitive account of the frenzy that overtook Wall Street in October and November of 1988 from the
leveraged buyout of RJR Nabisco, Inc. by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Co. for $24.9 billion. It was the
largest takeover in Wall Street history. It was co written by Bryan Burrough and John Helyar, both

Although his control of the leveraged buyout was quickly usurped by the investment bankers and
lawyers, he remained a central figure throughout the story.
Shearson Lehman had pressed for the implementation of the normal gun to the head strategy, offering
the board of directors a complete, fully financed bid and giving the board little alternative but to
accept it. Johnson, believing that he had the board under control, had refused and the eager Shearson
Lehman had reluctantly agreed. Largely because of the unprecedented size of the proposed leveraged
buyout, the management Shearson Lehman group grossly underestimated the potential competition
and assumed that it would be an uncontested takeover. The estimated $15.5 billion of bank financing
necessary to complete the $17.6 billion buyout would use up approximately three fourths of the bank
funds available worldwide for a single transaction (Burrough, 169).
At first, in the bidding war to buy out RJR Nabisco, Johnson appeared to hold all the cards. He
certainly believed so. He was convinced that the board would approve his offer because they needed
him. He seems to have believed they liked him, too, and were his friends. But he had made many
enemies on his climb up the corporate ladder, and several of these conspired in the end to deprive him
of the ultimate prize in management, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in personal earnings.

Laurence Wildman, a rival to Gordon, doesn t emerge as a leader, but he is similar to Mr. Keating in
Dead Poet s Society. Mr. Keating wanted the boys to be all they could be and achieve. Laurence

Internal Controls
Internal Controls XACC 280 Crystal Riley Sanford September 10, 2010 Instructor Glenn Dakin
Internal Controls Internal controls are the measures a company takes to do accomplish two primary
goals; protect their assets from employee theft, robbery and unauthorized use. Internal controls are
also used to increase accuracy of company financial information, reducing the risk of errors
(accidental) and irregularities (intentional) (Weygandt, 2009). Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 The
Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) was put into effect because of the corporate scams that were being
committed in that time period. Congress passed the act to force companies to keep closer tabs on their
internal controls. Under SOX, companies are required ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, entering data and having limited tasks in an area increase the effectiveness of internal
controls. In other areas, such as cash handling combined with customer service and other various
tasks, those internal controls may not seem as important concerning the register as it does stock.
Comparison of Internal Controls Establishment of responsibility and segregation of duties are similar
in that one person is assigned and responsible for a certain asset. In establishing responsibility, it is
easy to determine who made a mistake and how it was made because one person was responsible. In
segregation of duties, one person is assigned to a certain task alternately. For example, having one
person count the cash in the office and having the other key it into the system, to ensure numbers are
not being changed to make everything appear balanced. Physical, mechanical and electronic controls
are used to safeguard assets and enhance the security of them (Weygandt, 2009). Examples would be
keys only assigned to cash office personnel, the code on the vault, time clocks and video surveillance.
Independent internal verification is way of double checking the information reported by employees.
For example, managers are not directly associated with the accounting office and they check the daily
work completed by accounting office employees on a weekly or semi weekly basis to ensure that all
reports and numbers

  • 2. The Battle Of The Imperial Crisis Prior to the Imperial Crisis 1763 1775, Great Britain had a few set backs all while carrying the world on their shoulders. France was quickly moving out of North America and Spain was out of Florida, all while loosing power, allowing for Great Britain to only move up. After about one hundred years of continuous war, Great Britain had found themselves sinking in a pile of national debt due to the fact that they borrowed money by collected taxes to reduce or try and stabilize the debt they had already piled up. Another problem that arose was that the British taxpayers demanded and received many tax cuts, which reduced government income, only reducing the spending. Limiting spending only hurt Britain more, because it was very tough to decrease the disbursement when you are the biggest world power and have the responsibility to maintain a large army and navy, all well protecting your colony from the growing of large, powerful enemies. America, unlike Great Britain, had the colonists pay light taxes to the colonial government, allowing for whatever needed to be done, to be done, by taxing themselves. Britain s taxes were for regulation, and not for profit, unlike America up until 1764 when the British Parliament changed all policies and enacted laws to make money from the colonists. This new imperial system consisted of three goals: the ability to provide for colony security, the reassertion of authority over the colonies, and the shift of financial burden of war debt and ... However, compared to heterosexual youth the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender teenager (LGBT) teen faces increased challenges and difficulties as a result of their sexual orientation. Parents can provide an influential role in their teenagers role through effective listening, support and communication. The need for support groups for parents of LGBTQ teens has never been greater. Negative attitudes toward lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) people put these youth at increased risk for experiences with violence, compared with other students.1 Violence can include behaviors such as bullying, teasing, harassment, physical assault, ... An explanation of the potential dynamics to be aware of when running this particular group. The potential dynamics to be aware when conducting support group parents of LGBTQ teens are the mindsets of the parents. Each parent has a set frame of reference, possible prejudices, stereotypes, and lack of knowledge. The dynamics can be the very factors that help facilitate a healthy group interacting along with the parents. Conclusion Ongoing research is needed in determining the most effective ways parents can interact positively with their Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay, Transgender (LGBT) teenager. However, as discussed, there are ways in which parents can effectively interact with their Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) teenagers that can enhance the relationship, and provide a positive outcome for the teenager. • 4. Capulet And Lady Capulet In William Shakespeare s Romeo... Similar to a parasite, Juliet, the daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, is a character who is very dependent and doesn t formulate her own opinion. So, throughout the course of the story, Juliet develops her own thoughts and continuously becomes more independent according to the experiences she faces, consisting of disobeying her parents, falling deeply in love with Romeo and finally accomplishing her liberty. William Shakespeare has created Juliet by interpreting her as a character who has transferred from a dependent person to an independent person. For instance, while Juliet was asking the nurse about the fight between Romeo and Tybalt, Juliet says, What storm is this that blows so contrary? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 5. Exchange Analysis On The Realms Of Financial Trading Exchange can be defined in a number of ways, it is the process of giving or taking an object/thing/commodity in return for another (Merriam Webster, 2017). Or as defined by Investopedia (2017) an exchange is a marketplace in which securities, commodities, derivatives and other financial instruments are traded . The element of financial instruments however can be brought into question. It can be hypothesised that exchange does not always have to exist within in the realms of financial trading. The exchange journal exercise challenged my idea of exchange as it highlighted the inherent sociality of exchange relationships. In response to this it also highlighted the capitalist underpinnings, allowing for insight into the ways in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The agency and sociality of commodities can be exhibited by an exchange via Vic Deals between my flatmates and I and a person down the road from us. Our flat requires a couch, it is an object we desire and thus are happy to exchange money, for a couch. Money however is a fictious commodity as a commodity, according to Polanyi (2001) as something produced for consumption however money is not consumed; it just circulates through markets acting as a stand in representing the value of commodities. After locating a couch on Vic Deals we then message the seller of the couch. Through Facebook a social exchange of basic details, including the location of the couch, occurs. This is a purely social exchange however it could be argued that Facebook is gaining revenue via advertising and our patronage on their website. To me when I actually began to think about capitalism in a deeper sense I realised just how engrained into day to day life it is, you don t have to be making a purchase in order to interact with capitalist systems. It turns out that the couch is located very near to our flat which adds the element of convenience to this ongoing exchange. We decide to go look at the couch and then after looking at we decide to purchase this couch. My flatmate transfers $125 to the seller s bank account; in this exchange, the only physical handing over of goods/commodities is us receiving the couch. Whilst the money does exist it is not in physical form and is only transferred from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 700 B.C. the ancient Egyptians placed taxes on transfers of property at death. Subsequently the Roman Emperor, August Caesar, placed a tax on successions of realities of the deceased. As societies grew along with it grew and modified the idea of an estate tax and taxation in general. In America specifically taxing assets was first realized with the implementation of the Stamp Act of 1797. This act required a federal stamp on wills in probate. However this was repealed in 1802. In the decades to come estate taxes were viewed to be necessary to raise the funds to finance wars. The Revenue Act of 1862 implemented a federal inheritance tax ... However unlike in pervious times in American history, this tax did not go away following World War One. Throughout the lifetime of the act it has experienced numerous changes but could be cited as the core foundation that assisted in the establishment of the current estate tax. Estate taxes are defined as the taxes on privilege of transferring property at death and are typically determined by the size of the decedent s estate. This consists of counting everything a decedent owns or has interests in at the date of death and determining their fair market value (Jacobson). The gross estate is then taken, while permitting deductions and a taxable estate if made. Since the act of 1916, the ever changing landscape of taxation can be broken down into two distinct time periods. These periods are 1916 1948 and 1976 to present. The first notable change following the Revenue Act of 1916 was a tax placed on inter vivo gifts. This then became a permanent feature in 1932 and was due to the fact that congress recognized the wealthy individual s ability to find a loophole to avoid such estate taxation by giving things away as a gift. In 1935 alternate valuation was implemented through the Revenue act of that same year. This then allowed for an estate to be valued 1 year following a descents death. Chemistry, a branch of science, has experienced a tremendous leap and expansions since ancient Greek civilization. One of the major breakthroughs in the advancement in Chemistry was the creation of the Atomic theory, which laid a foundation for the modern day Chemistry and future of science. The Atomic theory introduced the idea of atoms, which are defined as the discrete units of matter. There are five key scientists that significantly contributed to the Atomic model over a span of thousands of years. They are: Democritus, John Dalton, J.J. Thompson, Ernest Rutherford, and Niels Bohr. Democritus, an Ancient Greek philosopher, is widely considered to be the founding father of the Atomic Theory. Democritus proposed that matter is composed of atoms, which move through empty space. He also proposed that atoms are solid, homogeneous, indestructible, and indivisible, and that different types of atoms have different kinds of sizes and shapes, which determine the properties of matter. Democritus and other Greek philosophers Leucippus and Epicurus, were among the first to propose the size, shape, and connectivity of atoms. Democritus theorized that iron atoms are solid with hooks (which locked them in place with each other, therefore creating a solid), water atoms are smooth and slippery, (which caused them to be in a liquid state), ... They could have good intentions or they could be self serving, but it wouldn t matter, because in the end their word is law. Relationship Between Father And Fate In The Odyssey Father and Son Relationships Determine Fate and Destiny The Odyssey, by Homer, is one of the most influential texts of Western literature and it is paralleled to The Aeneid, by Virgil. Father and son relationships are very important to Greek culture, as evident in the relationship between Odysseus and TelĂ©makhos in The Odyssey. Hundreds of years after The Odyssey was transcribed, Virgil continued to recognize the importance of the father and son relationship and he incorporated it into The Aeneid by focusing on Anchises and Aeneas. Both epics revolve around and delve into the valued father and son relationship. This relationship is so important to Greek and Roman culture that it has an effect on the idea of fate and destiny. The fate of Odysseus and Anchises is thoroughly influenced by their respective sons. Throughout Odysseus s journey, Odysseus wants to give up because of all the hardships he has to face. • 20. Environmental Impact On Habitat Fragmentation Habitat fragmentation is happening all around the world, even in developed countries such as the USA and UK, and is having a detrimental impact on species biodiversity (Hanski, 2015). Habitat fragmentation is a process by which a landscape is transformed into an unsuitable habitat for the present species. When a habitat becomes fragmentated this results in the habitats to develop into smaller patches and can even create patches of isolation, completely different to its original state (Fahrig, 2003). Fragmentation can occur naturally, through processes such as wildfires and windfall however, with the constant increase in human population (7 billion in 2017), habitat fragmentation is becoming more frequent and destructive due to the rise in human land use (Oikos, 1994). Healthy biodiversity cannot be maintained with habitat fragmentation being present, as this will decrease habitat space, structure and connectivity causing a decline in biodiversity. To measure the impacts habitat fragmentation is having on species, there have been certain methods which have been conducted to understand its full impact (Oikos, 1994). Some methods include comparing species richness in artificial habitat fragmentation patches to species richness in normal conditions, or the common one being used is to test the relationship between density and patch size. • 28. The Addiction Of Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is based in the real world, with Greek mythology mixed into the storyline. Percy, son of Poseidon, must rescue his mother from Hades as well as preventing a feud from erupting between the Gods on Mount Olympus that would wreak havoc on the Earth. During this quest Percy Jackson and his friends are invited into the Lotus Hotel and Casino. There they are engaged in playing games and start to lose track of time, similar to losing oneself in a casino in the real world. The author of Addiction by Design: Machine Gambling in Las Vegas, Natasha Dow Schull, researched why casinos were so addicting and the various elements that went into the building of the casinos in order to keep as many patrons for as long as possible. Casinos are an addicting technology, they are built for people to step inside and never want to leave. Casinos have been articulated with concepts of gambling addiction and people s reluctance to step away from the games, whether it is written in a book or studied in real life. Percy Jackson and his friends are invited into a casino and before long are addicted to the flashing lights and the winning that the casinos offer, despite the notion that they are being given thousands of dollars of free stuff, they are already being mind controlled into not focusing on reality, but simply the games. After traveling for so long, Percy and his friends are too weary to question the motives of those giving them this gift and take it with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

ANTHROPOMETRIC PREDICTPRS OF QUADRUPLE HAMSTRING GRAFT DIAMETER FOR ACL RECONSTRUCTION Naiyer Asif INTRODUCTION Among ligament reconstruction, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most commonly reconstructed ligament of the knee. Many graft options are available for ACL reconstruction. Bone patellar tendon bone autograft has rigid fixation and has bone to bone healing, but it has donor site morbidity, among the complications ,anterior knee pain is the most common. The quadrupled hamstring autograft is obtained by harvesting the semitendinosus and the gracilis tendons at the pes anserinus and then folding them over twice to create 4 strands. Failure, however can be prevented using a graft that is significantly stronger than the native ACL, and graft strength has been found to be directly propotional to the cross sectional area of the graft. Scott and Insall concluded that the length of normal ACL is 38mm (25 41mm) and the width is 10mm (7 12mm), on average In order to have a optimal 7cm quadrupled graft construct for ACL reconstruction (2cm in the femoral tunnel, 3cm intra articular, and 2cm in the tibial tunnel), it is essential to obtain a minimum tendon length of 28cm (ranged from 28 to 30cm) and it should have a minimum thickness of 7mm. Grafts used for ACL reconstructions which have smaller thickness have been shown to be weaker graft length could also inïŹ‚uence the thickness by multiple looping. A underlying theme is this book is a dystopian future: the social, economical, and political problems are issues that are lied about, prove this. When looking at the social aspect of life in 1984 all social groups are treated very different yet at the same time are all treated the same. In 1984 there is a very obvious hierarchal system; the top is The Inner Party, than The Outer Part, and on the bottom of the list are the proles. In Oceania this society strictly follows this, and does not deviate from these set rules of class. Each social group in 1984 are marginalized, excluded, and silenced, the way that this happens to ... This just shows how odd it is for Party Members to talk to proles, but when a Party Member does need to they do it knowing only a little backlash will happen if they are questioned. The proles live in parts of Oceania that are the slums of the state. As Winston walks around the proles part of town, he brings up that it doesn t smell good at all. Nine times out of ten we never remember these incidents, with only stories from relatives to know that they happened. I can remember mine with perfect clarity. At the age of one year old, one day before my second birthday, I sat in my day care with my hands leaning back looking up at the colorful displays. While it is illegal in North Carolina to not have heavy bookshelves mounted to the ground, this day care had chosen to forgo that rule and use them as room dividers. A little boy on the other side of the divider with sandy blond hair shoved his backpack into the cubby, excited to go out and play among his friends. One of the poorly taken care of wheels on the bottom of this bookshelf collapsed toppling over onto my hand, crushing almost every bone in the process and partially severing two of my fingers on my left hand. After 3 blood transfusions, a life flight trip to Duke Hospital, 3 later surgeries, and careful reconstruction, I am now left with a functioning hand albeit slightly deformed on the two severed fingers. These incredible doctors were able to save the nail bed although my middle finger curves over somewhat bent inward along with some scarring. This is what life would be like for me with a perfect hand for three days. Day one, I would wake up in my bed and sit up. I would excitedly run my fingers through my hair like most ... • 36. The Impact Of Piracy On The Internet Essay The Impact of Piracy According to the Motion Pictures Association of America website, A pirate is anyone who sells, acquires, copies or distributes copyrighted materials without permission. Over the past ten years, technology has greatly advanced, and with these technological advances, digital file sharing easier than ever. One aspect of these advances is faster Internet connection, which has made it easier to download large files in the matter of minutes. Whereas in the past majority of people had dial up Internet services which in most cases the download rate was no more than 10 kilobytes per second. Some Internet providers today offer speeds up to one gigabyte per second, which to put in perspective; a DVD size is usually around 4 gigabytes, so technically someone could download an exact replica of a DVD in a matter of minutes if not seconds. But even in the dial up era, internet piracy was an issue, where programs such as Napster made it easy for people to share files with people all over the world. Napster, was the first well known peer to peer sharing software where users were able to directly download songs from other users. Napster surfaced in 1999 and most internet users embraced it open arms as they were able to download their favorite songs at the comfort of their home for free. Johnson, believing that he had the board under control, had refused and the eager Shearson Lehman had reluctantly agreed. Largely because of the unprecedented size of the proposed leveraged buyout, the management Shearson Lehman group grossly underestimated the potential competition and assumed that it would be an uncontested takeover. The estimated $15.5 billion of bank financing necessary to complete the $17.6 billion buyout would use up approximately three fourths of the bank funds available worldwide for a single transaction (Burrough, 169).
