Community For My Old Volunteer Group
Community for me, is feeling connected, accepted, and at home. It is where everyone is
working together for a mutual cause, and having fun doing it. It is not so much a place to me,
as it is a feeling. I can go to any town, city, or community but it does not necessarily take a place

Families And Schools Together because I worked one on one with people and really saw that
we were making a difference in these people s lives. At the time I first volunteered for F.A.S.T. I
did not realize exactly what I was doing, I merely signed up because I wanted to help out in some
way. However, I soon realized that we truly were bringing these families closer. We gave them a
safe environment with dinner and activities, and a chance every week to have one on one time with

patriotism, honor, bravery, and war. He explains how each topic relates to the lives of nineteen

Voyeurism: Helping to Solve Murders Since 1954 Alfred Hitchcock has always been known for his
suspenseful and action filled films. His 1954 production of the movie Rear Window is no
contradiction to that. Throughout Rear Window, many different motifs and themes are splayed out
for the audience to dwell upon. One well seen theme is voyeurism. Within the movie, the audience
is challenged with this theme, and left with the uncertainty about the power of voyeurism. Some
critics believe that Hitchcock even went so far as to use the film as a way to say that us as an

Furthermore, he categorizes his neighbors by names that he gives to them such as Miss
Lonelyhearts , Miss Torso , and Songwriter / Piano Man from their daily activities that he
observes through is watching and looking through his camera lens. As said by Seth M. Blazer, a

(Rear Window Ethics, 384). However, the idea of watching stems a lot further than just staring out
a window or peering through a lens.
Given what has been stated, the claim being made is that voyeurism is ultimately a good thing.
Without voyeurism, how are we to know who is the good or evil within our society? However,
this also speaks for us as an audience. For instance, Jeff is a stand in for us in the film. He is
essentially society and the way we are always infatuated with other people. In most cases, this
would not be a positive aspect. However, within Rear Window, Jeff watching his neighbors is a
good thing. Furthermore, the other residents living in the apartments believe in the positiveness of
watching others too. This is evident throughout the movie, especially in the middle. For example, a
female resident stands upon her balcony and bellows out to everyone You don t know the meaning
of the word neighbor.

PickleFest I m going to write about the pickle fest. I m going to answer who built it, when it was
built, where it was started, and many more. The Goldsmith Pickle Bought and started it in 1945
in Atkins Arkansas. The Goldsmith Pickle Company invested in a seventy five thousand dollars
to build and equip pickle plants. Many towns people raised and additional fifth teen thousand
dollars to build and equip the plants. The People for Better Atkins organization started the pickle
fest celebration in 1992. In 1945 the Goldsmith plant later became the Atkins Pickle Company.
The Atkins pickle company finally closed in 2002. The new company employs more people
than the pickle plant did at its end, but it does not provide the same level of recognition for the
once dubbed the Pickle Capital of the World and known as home of the fried dill pickle. The

There is a crowning of Mr. Dell Pickle and Miss Sweet Pickle at the Atkins Picklefest. There are
many contests, there is a pickle juice drinking contest and Pickle eating contest, there are even
rodeos. They also have talent shows for kindergarten through the twelfth grade. They also have a
5k race, and also a parade and the University of Arkansas mascot, will participate in the parade.
Some of the floats will include the winners of the Picklefest Pageant and floats representing
businesses and organizations. Some other contest will be taken place like a canning contest, quilt
contest; they also have a tractor pulling going on if there is good weather. There will be live
