Tuesdays With Morrie Albom
Tuesdays with Morrie is a true story, written by Mitch Albom, which puts the reader in Albom s
perspective throughout his life. Throughout story Albom writes about is memorable experiences with
his college professor Morrie Schwartz. Years after Mitch Albom finishes his education at Brandeis
University he begins to experience a tough time in pursuing success in his career. One night Mitch
was watching his television and he recognizes his former professor s voice on a talk show called
Nightline. Immediately after watching the talk show Albom contacted his college professor and setup
a time where they could meet. By meeting with his former professor, Mitch Albom is able to get a grip
and gain important knowledge that will forever change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One thing that I learned from this story is that you cannot always believe what you see you have to
believe what you feel. Morrie stated, And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you
must feel that you can trust them too even when you re in the dark. Even when you re falling. I also
learned that you should always look at life in a unique way. During the story Morrie is always looking
at life through a different perspective such as when he realized that he is becoming incapable of doing
everyday things. ...I have to look at life uniquely... I can sit here with my dwindling days and look at
what I think is important in life. I have both the time and the reason to do that. Also through this story
I learned that the most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.
Sometimes we think that we do not deserve to be loved and sometimes we think that love is
meaningless. In the story Morrie suggests Let it come in... Love is the only rational act.
By meeting with his former professor, Mitch Albom is able to take a look in on his life and learn
things that took Morrie years to learn. Overall I thought that Tuesdays with Morrie was a great and
interesting novel. Out of all the lessons taught to Mitch by Morrie, my favorite would have to be that
you should look at life in a unique

Cooperative Federalism Rests On Several Standard Operating...
Cooperative federalism rests on several standard operating procures
Shared Costs
Cities and states can receive federal money for airport construction, sewage treatment plants, youth
programs, and many other programs, but only if they pay part of the bill
Federal Guidelines
Most federal grants to states and cities come with strings attached. Congress spends billions of dollars
to support state highway construction
Shared Administration
State and local officials implement federal policies, but they have administrative powers of their own
The u s Department of Labor gives billions to states for job training, but state have considerable
latitude in spending the money
Devolution?
Democrats support increase in federal government s power for advancement of national policies
Republicans oppose these policies and favor states to take responsibility on issues like child labor,
education and social security with Medicare
Ronald Reagan in his first inaugural address articulated a traditional conservative view when he
argued that the states had primary responsibility for governing in most policy areas
Restore the balance between levels of government
Few agreed with his reeducation of the national government s role in domestic programs
Reagan s opposition to the national government s spending on domestic policies and the huge federal
deficits of the 1980s forced a reduction in federal funds for state and local government

1939- 1945 Were Possibly The Worst Years In American History.
1939 1945 were possibly the worst years in American history. During this time, World War II was
occurring. Adolf Hitler was in complete control. He even went outside the battle grounds to wreck
havoc. He went to Babi Yar...the last place where Jews could hide.
Babi Yar is located in Kiev, Ukraine. During World War II, a massacre took place in the small town,
killing more than 1,000 Jews. The Nazis attacked them on September 29, 1943. Afterwards, the war
continued to rage, only to end in 1945. During World War II, Adolf Hitler rose to fame as the harsh
dictator of Germany. Hitler would then form his own army, then known as the Nazis. The Nazis would
go on to terrify Germany, then would go on to slowly take control of Europe. As most ... Show more

During the massacre, over 1,000 Jews, Soviet Officials, and Russian prisoners were killed. They were
executed at the Babi Yar ravine. ( The Einsatgruppen) The total count of people murdered at Babi Yar
was 34,000. The total count of Jews murdered in World war II was 6 million. This massacre occurred
towards the end of the war. Shortly after the massacre, the United States would jump in to save the
day! They would help the Allies defeat the Nazis and their army. Hitler would still go on to terrify the
rest of Europe after Babi Yar. The aftermath of Babi Yar is not a great one. It took over 6 years to
rebuild Babi Yar and everything that was destroyed at Babi Yar. Many shelters, homes, buildings, and
personal stations were destroyed during the massacre. The Nazis showed no mercy. (Hjelnguard, Kim)
After the massacre, the Nazis tried to hide evidence that anything ever happened by covering the dead
bodies with nothing but dirt and rock. The Nazis were convicted of what they tried to escape with, and
some were caught. They not only tired to hide the bodies with dirt and rock, but they even burned
them! When the remains were given to families, they were probably holding some stranger that they
never even met, instead of their loved ones. Shortly after the Nazis were convicted, things slowly
started going against Hitler and the Nazis. With the help of the United States, the Allies defeated the

Joh John R. Wooden s Analysis
In the notes it describes communitas as a group of people sharing common cultural practices, values,
and/or identities (Bustad, lecture, 2017). This relates back to sport and physical activity because
although each individual player may live in different locations than another, when they come together
for this one sport and act as a team, they share the same values of the game. They also share the same
type of identity when playing on the same team or involved in the same physical activity as another
individual.
John R. Wooden was an American basketball player coach and teacher. He taught philosophy which
highly influenced his coaching style. Wooden created the Pyramid of Success, which took him
seventeen years to fully construct. The pyramid works as building blocks, each row acts as a
foundation for the one above it. Wooden s pyramid of success consists of: industriousness, friendship,
loyalty, cooperation and enthusiasm in the first row. The second row has: self control, alertness,
initiative, and intentness. Following this in the next row is: condition, skill, and team spirit. The two
blocks above that row are: poise and confidence and the top block of the pyramid is competitive
greatness. In order to fulfill the top block you must complete the steps below it (Perez, 2014). ... Show

He would choose a mediocre player with a great attitude to play on his team, rather than a protégé
basketball player with a sour attitude (Perez, 2014). This can be incorporated with the term

beliefs and interests. The sport aspect of communitas can also be related to gemeinschaft and

Nothing In King Lear
A Play About Nothing
The word nothing appears multiple times throughout King Lear, which further emphasizes its
significance. In King Lear, family ties are destroyed by the characters actions which negatively lead to
nothing. Authority and power of characters are seen through their social standards and later stripped of
these powers, and are ultimately left with nothing. Lastly, being in a state where being oblivious to
surroundings one naturally knows nothing and will lead to nothing. In King Lear, by William
Shakespeare, the theme of the play is ultimately about nothing, this is seen through family ties, social
standards, and the blindness of surroundings.
In first scenes of King Lear, family connections turn into shambles, which in its ... Show more content

Authority and power are commonly depicted on how much a character holds and how powerful they
are through their physical appearances. Edgar and Lear are two characters whose characters change in
their physical aspects. Lear uses his army to portray his power in society, but it is his daughters who
strip him away for This man hath had good counsel! A hundred knights? (1.iv.331 332). This
demonstrates that appearance is power and without his knights he is powerless and has nothing. The
fool declares Lear s appearance of nothingness through his crown Thou hadst little wit in thy bald
crown when thou gavest thy golden one away (1.iv.160 101). Lear having a high social status, King,
has given all of his power away and is left with nothing. Lear is later seen ripping his clothes due to
the fact that he is accepting that he has gained a low status of being nothing. Like Lear, Edgar strips of
is power and social status, forced to become an O Bedlam (2.iii.14). This shows Edgars need to strip
himself of who he was, for he has literally been stripped of his social status for in nothing am I chang

Human Impact Research Paper
Human the Greater Impact
Due to human activities, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has risen extensively since the Industrial
Revolution and has now reached dangerous levels not seen in the last three million years. Humans
impact climate change every second whether they are, burning fossil fuels and impacting the layers of
the earth..
87% of all human produced carbon dioxide emissions come from the burning of fossil fuels like coal,
oil, and natural gas. Out of this 87% coal is 43% of that and oil is 36%, and lastly natural gas is 20%.
The burning of fossil fuels releases energy which is turned into heat, therefore being released into the
atmosphere polluting it. In approximately one year 33.2 billion tons and carbon dioxide emissions
were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though there are indeed natural factors the amount of human factors that impact the earth climate
change are higher. As said before humans drive cars, burn forests, cut down trees, burn fossil fuels,
adding heat trapped emissions into the atmosphere. Even when all the natural and human induced
climate drivers are stacked up and compared to one another the accumulation of human released heat
trapping gases in the atmosphere are so large that it has very likely swamped other climate drivers.
When comparing these two contributions to climate change, natural and human, the human impacts
like said before swamp the natural.
Whether it is from burning fossil fuels or affecting the earth s layers humans are impacting climate
change every second. With all of the advances already occurring in the world there is going to be even
more human activities that are going to give off carbon dioxide that heats up and pollutes our
atmosphere, and what are us humans going to do to stop

Nonexistent hoods and inadequate hoods should be replaced and installed immediately. The low on
nonexistent fpm s produced by these hoods are in violation of OSHA regulations. Putting garage doors
on the equipment doors should be done after this. The free flow of lead from POS to other parts of the
plant is of great concern to everyone s health. Keeping the lead in the POS department would make it
much easier to control. The installation of a wind tunnel between POS and COS should be installed in
the next couple years. A large sized capital improvement investment will be required for this
construction. Personal hygiene, facility sanitation practices, and employee dietary needs should be
instituted immediately. These changes have very little cost and do not require much labor downtime.
Conclusion The blood lead levels in the Holland, Ohio facility are the worst not only in the United
States, but the world as well. In order to lower these blood lead levels each changes and improvements
must be made in all six categories outlined in this report. The changes range from simple policy
changes that at little or no cost, to engineering controls that will be fairly expensive. I look forward to

The High Powered Lights At Halftime
The high powered lights reflected on the players metalic blue jerseys and the crisp chill in the air
alerted the fans that fall is almost here indicating that it is time for football season. The stands are filled
with cheering students, fans, family, and alumni. The first home football game consisted of amazing
performances from the band, the Pink Panthers, and had many generous promotions from the team s
sponsors.
The first performance of the night began at halftime. The prominent EIU marching band formed in a
perfectly rounded heart around the Panther logo at the fifty yard line. Dressed in flashy black
feathered hats, royal blue and black shirts, and black pants, the trumpets roared and the drummers
pounded with might. Their eyes were focused on the music while the conductor firmly gave them the
beat as he vigorously moved about on the stand. The flags were being twirled effortlessly by the
delicately nimble hands of their holders. As the music was being beautifully executed, the gorgeous
baton twirler spun and launched her baton high into the air. The band first entertained the crowd with
the playing of UpTown Funk, the dedication song of the summer of 2015, then Fall Out Boy s Uma
Thurman, and lastly Walk The Moon s song Shut Up and Dance with Me.
The Pink Panthers accompanied the band in their halftime performance. Adding to the already
spectacular performance of the band, the Pink panthers brought a little extra pizzaz to the show. Their

A Unified Thai Kingdom
During the 14th century, a unified Thai kingdom was established. Today it is known as Thailand but
up until 1939 it was called Siam. It is the only Southeast Asian country that has never been under
European rule. As archaeology studies suggests, 4000 B.C. was the time period where early bronze
metallurgy centers were thriving. Metallurgy refers to the science and technology concerned with the
properties of metals and their production. This development along with the cultivation of wet rice
gave the motivation for social and political organizations to make an appearance. Also, research
suggests that these new discoveries could have been transmitted to the rest of Asia, including China.
The Thai are linguistically related to the Tai groups in Southern China because migration groups left
from China and settled in Southeast Asia. Thai s date the founding of their nation to the 13th century.
According to tradition, in 1238 the Thai chieftains overthrew the Khmer rulers and established a Thai
kingdom in its place. This kingdom soon declined and a new Thai Kingdom emerged in 1350, the
Kingdom of Ayutthaya. The first ruler of this kingdom, King Rama Thibodi, made two very important
contributions to Thai history. One was the establishment and promotion of Buddhism as the official
religion and the second one was the compilation of the Dharmashastra, which are laws based on Hindu
and traditional Thai customs. The Dharmashastra stayed as a tool of Thai law until the late 19th

The Importance Of Rain In New Mexico
I saw a difference in all 4 states, maybe subtle differences but New Mexico was flatter, less rocky.
Rain caught us in New Mexico, huge water drops fell on the windows, I was almost afraid it would

over us, they were so low I could see the water vapor. For some reason, this interested me so much.
Had they ever seen been that low in Las Vegas? It was cloudy the rest of the way. We stopped at a rest

there for a second and just thought about what was to come. There was some sort of energy in the air,

Leadership Skills For A Leader

A typical meaning of leadership expresses that it is the methodology through which pioneers impact

Should America Be An All-Born Citizen Essay
Should the United States of America be an All American born country? Should all citizens be born

Whether we agree with the illegal immigrants coming into this country or not, it will always be an

As of now America has employed a tremendous amount of undocumented immigrants, over 8.4
million. These immigrants make up only 3.7 percent of the US population, but yet represent 5.2
percent in the US labor force. Also the agricultural workforce is dependent of these undocumented
immigrants. Studies have shown that at least 6 out of 10 farm workers are undocumented. A recent
survey shows that 78 percent of the agricultural workers are foreign born and in order to get here, had
to cross a border.
Why deport aliens if it s cost is high and they can improve the economy by staying in the states.
Recent studies prove my statement. The United States spends more on deportation and border patrol
than annual gross domestic product of 80 countries. As of now the United States spends $3.5 billion
more on border enforcement than they spend on law enforcement in their country. This comes down to

The Five Factor Model
THE FIVE FACTOR MODEL
James Baron and David Kreps had given the Five Factor model, which is based on Michael Porter s
Five Forces model of business analysis (Porter, 1980). These factors will influence the Competitive
Intelligence system in any organization. These factors are External Environment, Workforce,
Organizational Culture and Structure, Organizational Strategy, and Technology of Production and
Organization of Work (Baron Kreps, 1999). Lack of correspondence between any one of these factors
can lead the firm s CI practices to the failure.

External Environment
The External Environment component takes into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This could also work to the firm s disadvantage, since gathered intelligence should never be
considered static. New developments are always transpiring that render recently collected intelligence
obsolete and invalid. The firm that fails to recognize this will have surely wasted its CI efforts.
Workforce
The workforce element of the Five Factor model concerns demographic factors such as social (or
workforce) homogeneity (i.e., workforce uniformity with respect to education, work experience, etc.).
Workforce consistency also includes the skill set incorporated into the team. Demographic factors can
also seriously impede or enhance CI and strategy (Baron Kreps, 1999). The skill set that the CI team
leader possesses is vital to team success. Managers need to be able to understand the degree of
management their particular team requires. Due to the creative and sometimes ambiguous nature of
CI, team leaders must know when to step in and give direction or when to let the CI team members
find their own resolution. Micro management from the team leader will likely undermine team
effectiveness and inhibit team performance as members become dependent upon guidance or possibly
resentful of interference (Simon, 2000). Too little direction from the team leader may lead to
confusion with regards to the composition of team deliverables. The team

Investigation Of A Security Clearance For A Position...
I.INTRODUCTION
Background investigations are an essential aspect of the vetting process for both employees and
potential employees of the US Federal, State, and Local governments and private sector companies
that provide support, services and products to these government entities. These investigations are
conducted to determine the suitability of the subject of the investigation to hold a security clearance
for a position impacting our national security. Many of the individuals hired by the aforementioned
organizations are placed in positions which require a security clearance. Based on the type of
clearance, the person has access to information that is crucial to implementation of the missions of US

II. INSIDER THREATS
The purpose of US Federal Government background investigations is to determine if individuals are
deemed acceptable for employment within the US government, and more importantly, prevent
individuals of malafied intent from gaining access to a position impacting the US national security.
Properly executed background investigations can greatly diminish the possibility of a potential insider
threat obtaining access to classified information, which can cause the US great harm and the US
government great embarrassment.
Prior to the founding of the United States of America, the insider threat has hindered the security of a
nation. It is written that the outward destruction of a country results from the inward turmoil of its
government. Numerous historical accounts of internal conflicts endangering the welfare of countries
are present in the history books of most countries. In most instances, the conflict occurred within the
governmental structure of the nation. Regarding internal threats, the US government is not immune
from this imminent danger. Constantly, there are numerous threat to US government operations that

The Issue Of Open Carry
Gun Laws Brad Coffman Ms. Scannell 10 November 2015 Abstract Open carry has been a proven fact
to save lives and cut down on violence throughout the world. I believe that open carry would create a
gateway to less violence and more opportunity. We have the right to exercise our rights as Americans.
We shouldn t have to cower in fear at the sight of a gun when guns gave us our freedom. The British
weren t going to just hand Americans all the land they wanted. The Americans fought for it, with guns.
They didn t take no for an answer and look where we are, two hundred years later and our country is
full of wimps who won t even say all lives matter anymore. The United States needs open carry to

The sad part is, many people are making a huge controversy over the fact that it would cause more
problems than it would solve. No one is subject to knowing if a teacher is really carrying a gun or not.
A teacher can carry a gun without anyone, not even the superintendent, has to know. Teachers must be
completely trained before trying to carry at a school. Six of the twenty eighty states became legal after
the tragic Sandy Hook shooting. Thirty three states tried to pass the bill to carry in schools through
legislation but only five were able to do such. Teachers are known to say that they take it deeply
personal when a shooter messes with their students. Utah is the easiest of all states for teachers and
everyone to carry a gun. No fatal shootings have occurred in Utah since the day teachers have been
allowed to carry guns in school over a decade ago. The Gun Violence Prevention Center is trying hard
to disarm teachers and other Americans alike. Some believe that teachers with guns make the kids feel
as if they are in an unsafe environment, but a lot of people believe otherwise. Schools can designate
teachers to carry a gun in their school if they very well feel it is necessary. There are almost nine guns
for every ten people in the United States including children, women, and men. Gun owners believe it
is a right most valued by free people throughout the United States. There s an estimated two hundred

Tacos
Mexican Cookery, an often crisply fried tortilla folded over and filled, as with seasoned chopped meat,
lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. In Spanish the word is used to describe a light snack.
This definition does not come close to describing the culinary delight we call the taco. The taco is a
symbol of Mexican food and is one of its most popular and well known forms.
Corn has been used as a food source for the indigenous people of the Mexicas since 3000 BC. The
Aztecs made flat bread out of it and called it tlaxcalli. The Aztecs ate tlaxcalli stuffed with various
concoctions of food and thus the taco was born. These concoctions would vary depending on the

* TACOrific for you unexpected guests.
Probably the most common among Mexican foods is the Taco. It is a corn or wheat tortilla folded or
rolled around a filling. The filling may include beef, mutton or shellfish and often has salsa,
vegetables and cheeses for added variety. A Taco is usually eaten using bare hands.
The dish was served early on by the Aztecs and only the Spanish gave its name which actually means
light snack . It used to be that the Mexican women served this as a practical way of serving comida to
husbands and guests.
The taco as we know it today is the result of an evolution from the simple tortilla filled with meat. It
gained popularity that it has become the most known and well loved Mexican food of all time.
Tacos can either have soft shells or hard shells, both have fillings of meat (or beans), vegetables and
cheese. Soft shell tacos are the not crunchy ones flexible and moldable. A soft shell taco can retain
freshness even when in travel; only it can get soggy because of the salsa filling. It can be eaten with
hands with less spillage, as long as it is not overfilled. A hard shell taco is the one which has that
crunchy u shaped tortilla. The shell may break so easily so it is best to consume it once prepared.
Here is a recipe of the breakfast tacos, more popularly known as the PUFFY TACO which originated
from San Antonio, Texas. The following are the ingredients: 1 cup Hash Brown Potato mix with

Olaudah Equiano Is Lucky Slave
Olaudah Equiano is lucky Slave...
Imagine life as an average American, you wake up get ready for the day whether that is work, school,
or daily errands. Now as you walk from the front door to your car, you are suddenly snatched with a
bag over your head. You are held captive against your own will shipped overseas for months and the
moment you arrive, it is expected for you to work till death. This exact story happened to Olaudah
Equiano when he was captured in Africa and brought to the North America at the age of 11. Equiano
faced much hardship and near life experiences but he was fortunate than many other slaves by his
ability to learn english, and encountering masters that were kind to him.
It is difficult to portray a young boy as fortunate when his life quickly took a turn on him one day
working. Being a prisoner of someone else is a hard experience to suppress especially when one is
stripped from their family and homeland. The trials he faced challenged his will to live physically and
mentally. He was once reunited with his sister, just to be torn out of her sight forever again. This time
he felt the days passing were unbearable, ...I became so sick and low that I was not able to eat, nor had
I the least desire to taste anything. I now wished for the last friend, death, to relieve me (Equiano 54).
When Equiano was in negative environments he felt the tragedy of wanting to end his life. He would
wake up knowing that his life could end at any moment if he were to make

Burke And Anna s Life In Hungary
Life in Hungary
Living in Europe was a dream of Burke and Anna s. An opportunity in 2011 to teach young children in
Hungary to speak English was just what they needed to pack their bags and move to Hungary for 6
months. They became volunteer teachers for local schools in Hungary. Burke and Anna taught
children of all different ages.
They stayed in the city of Szeged, Hungary. The apartment they were living in was very large and
inexpensive for the size of the apartment, however it was very outdated. Living in Hungary was a very
different experience for Burke and Anna. For example, they were perplexed when they found that the
washing machine was in the bathroom. Washing their clothing was something they had never heard of
before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I asked them if they met anyone special in there time spent in Hungary. They responded by telling me
a story about a boy named Norby. Norby was one of the young children they taught. While learning
English Norby could be described as Tigger, always excited and having so much to say. His dream
was to work for the Peace Corps and he knew he needed to be a great English speaker to do so.
according to Burke and Anna. Norby would talk to Burke and Anna as much as possible. One time he
even invited them to dinner at his house. Burke and Anna gladly agreed to to have dinner with Norby
and his family. Something they learned about Norby was he was the only one in his family that spoke
English. We did our best to communicate with them and, by the end, we were all laughing and having
a great time together, even though we couldn t actually speak the same language. It is one of our
favorite memories from our time there. Burke and Anna said. It is important when traveling the world
to meet new people. Meeting new people especially in a different country can open your eyes to lots
of new experiences and you can also learn so many new things.
Burke and Anna experienced so many special moments during their 6 month stay in Hungary. One in
particular moment that stood out to them is a time to a Hungarian dog show. One of the teachers from
their school had a dog competing. In Hungary they have so many dog breeds that Burke and Anna
never heard of before. They had so much fun and saw super cute dogs. That was one of Burke and
Anna s most memorable experiences from staying in

Ethnographic Research On Human Behavior
Introduction
Creswell (2007) describes ethnography as a qualitative design in which the researcher describes and
interprets the shared and learned patterns of values (p. 68). Ethnographic research provides a study on
individuals in their own environment. Throughout the research, researchers attempt to answer
questions in regards to human behavior. According to Schwartzman (1993), Ethnography is used for
research involving cultural sharing, and is linked to the use of anthropology as a way to view modern
organization (p. 3). The researchers examine individuals from the inside in order to gain a better
understanding of their actions. One of the keywords in ethnographic research is culture. Culture is the
focal point of ethnographic research. As stated by Van Maanen (Merriam, 2002), the result of
ethnographic inquiry is cultural description (p, 237). This involves the researcher conducting
extensive time to the research.
According to Merriam (2002), methods of Ethnographic research include interviews, observations,
and archival research. Through these methods, researchers are able to gather information on the shared
activities and patterns of individuals (Creswell, 2007). Several procedures are necessary in order to
conduct ethnographic research. The problem must be stated, a phenomenon of interest to study,
gaining access, collecting data, phenomenological data analysis, gathering themes, and compiling the
research information (Creswell, 2007).

What Is The Similarities Between The Parthenon And Roman...
Abstract
This paper discusses the similarities and the differences between ancient Parthenon Greece and
Pantheon Rome seen in Parthenon, and considers how the style and function of each building serves as
a typical example of its culture
A quick overview of The Greek and Roman Architecture:
The Greek architecture is one of the most ancient techniques that had influenced other civilizations
and cultures by its design and building structure. The Greek developed astonishing building styles
driven by the simple (post and Lintel) style, by carving beautiful and magnificent columns and by
inscription and decorations craved on the upper part of the columns. The Greek buildings were built
based on main thee classical architectural styles, the Doric, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This is because Roman architecture had developed on what the Greek have built before and they
actually adopted the Greek s techniques.
When we look at the exterior architecture of the Pantheon we find that Romans have adopted the
Greek classic architecture, seen in the Parthenon. Also, in terms of use, and function, both of these
temples had been converted to churches, and they both have been rebuilt, However Pantheon was not
completely damaged by sacked as with Parthenon where it was destroyed by fire and sacked by
Persians, where the
Pantheon was preserved as result of Rome being a strong Christian state that had protected it from any
damage or looting.
The Parthenon is Doric temple that is supported by an Ionic colonnade. Also, the floor is made entirely
from marble, and the base was made of limestone which is typically the materials used in Greek
Architecture. In contrary, the Pantheon has a concrete dome over the ornate Corinthian columns. It has
more decorative aspects and unique details, the dome that gives it a round shape, where the Parthenon
is a rectangular structure. In Parthenon, the columns are constructed of several barrels, and the

Analysis Of One Abstains From Dangerous Acts By Ernest Van...

can change their minds. It is a natural fact that whenever a person flashback with tensed past memory,
fear will arise in their minds, And same conditions appear when a person is about to kill someone but
unfortunately, a criminal finishes his/her infraction. Ernest van den Haag who was an American
sociologist and writer once said in his article One abstains from dangerous acts because of vague,
inchoate (beginner), habitual and, above all, preconscious fears . This shows how it allows future

Polarized Light Lab Report
Experiment 10: Polarized Light

Professor Ndetan
Abstract: The purpose of the experiment is to learn more about the polarization of light, polarizing
filter and the light intensity changes through polarizing filters.
Overview:
The action of light is an extraordinary phenomenon. Light, for example, the one emitting from a light
bulb, is a form of wave motions that consist of electric and magnetic fields that vibrate at right angles
to the direction of travel of a light beam. The electric field that is associated with the light wave
oscillates in random directions, but is always in a right angle to the light propagation direction. An
unpolarized light is known as a light wave that vibrates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once I began to rotate one of the filters the light became increasingly darker. It appeared to have a
tinted affect. The light appeared to change its distinction.
Within the second part of the experiment I darkened the room so that the representation of light was
more significant. When I had everything hooked up properly I was able to use the measurement tool to
make 15degree rotations accordingly. These rotations were not precise and it appeared that it only took
me 180degrees to make a full rotation. Considering that the filters were very small. I made a total of
13 readings and they are as follows: 0degrees 4.83ohms, 15degrees 15.39 ohms, 30degrees 18.82
ohms, 45degrees 15.53ohms, 60degrees 12.27ohms, 75degrees 16.60ohms, 90degrees 5.95ohms,
105degrees 9.76ohms, 120degrees 5.24ohms, 135degrees 9.20ohms, 150degrees 12.80ohms,
165degrees 16.58ohms, 180degrees 5.24ohms. These results varied, it appears as though when I made

Religion vs. Morality Essay
To be moral simply means to do what is right; however, doing what is right is easier said than done.
Perhaps if one was a child, one would, to the best of their abilities, follow what his parents demand of
him, this would constitute them as doing what is right. Now let us say that the child is an orphan, or
does not believe what his parents say is right, should following them still be considered moral, or is it
even up to him to decide? Perhaps the child has evolved past parenting all together and therefore
needs no more guidance. Defining what is considered moral has now become much more complex.
Sam Harris presents the same basic argument of morality in his book Letter to a Christian Nation, by
applying it not to a child and his parents, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While atheists do not believe in God, it does not mean that they do not serve a god and religion.
Capitalism, at least in America, is everyone s religion. It is served each and every day as millions
make the pilgrimage to work, to gain the capacities to tithe into the economy by following the ever
present sermon of buy, buy, buy. The sermon is far greater than any religion of God, for it is sought
out daily by various means such as the television, radio, and advertisements on clothes that society
themselves perpetuate. Martin Luther once stated that one s religion is whatever one is willing to
sacrifice his children for is his religion and God . Millions are being sacrificed by their economies
today; workers are working 12 hour days for less than 2 dollars. Governments are doing all in their
powers to keep unions from forming all in the name of capitalism. Therefore if Harris argument is that
only morality can be accomplished by atheism, and there is no true form of Atheism, then there can be
no true form of morality(religion of the market 67 70). Harris also groups all Christians into one huge
pool of rifle toting, homophobes, who s main concern is to prevent murder of the unborn, all the while
proclaiming that war is just. However, this is where Harris true ignorance shines. This new groups of
Christians , should not even be considered Christians at all. A simple definition of Christian is one
who follows Christ wholly, trying their best to live

Microbiology UV Light Lab Report
Introduction:
Why does Ultra Violet light at 260nm cause the most damage to DNA? Does damage caused by UV
light affect DNA in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells alike? UV light at 260nm causes the most
damage to DNA because that is the amount of light that DNA absorbs the most light. No, UV light
does not affect both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells the same way. For example, in eukaryotic cells
there are three different ways DNA can be repaired (photoreactivation, post replication repair excision
repair), whereas in prokaryotes excision repair mechanism is used.
Explain how do pyrimidine dimers form. Pyrimidine dimers form when DNA is damaged by UV light
and they form ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The damaged part of the DNA strand is nicked out by endonucleases that contain the dimer, which is
then released from the DNA. After the fragment is released, DNA polymerase fills in the gap with a
new strand and DNA ligase will close up the repaired strand. Are endospores more or less resistant to
UV light than vegetative cells? What accounts for this increased or decreased resistance to UV light?
Endospores are more resistant to UV light than vegetative cells. Endospores have an increased
resistance to UV light because of the structure (exosporium) as well as the small acid soluble proteins
found inside, which tightly bind and condense the DNA in the endospore.
Develop a hypothesis for the experiment conducted. Be sure to include how the length of exposure to
UV light and the ability to form endospores affects a cells susceptibility to UV light. (If it is easier you
can form two hypotheses one about how lethality is connected to length of exposure to UV light, and
another about how the susceptibility of endospores and vegetative cells to UV light. 1. If there is a
longer length of time the bacteria is exposed to UV light, then more cells will be killed. 2. If the
bacteria exposed to UV light can form endospores, then they are less susceptible to the effects of the
UV light and can survive the conditions.
Methods:
Create/insert a table that includes the exposure times for each microbe used (like table 1

Throughout story Albom writes about is memorable experiences with his college professor Morrie Schwartz. Years after Mitch Albom finishes his education at Brandeis University he begins to experience a tough time in pursuing success in his career. One night Mitch was watching his television and he recognizes his former professor s voice on a talk show called Nightline. One thing that I learned from this story is that you cannot always believe what you see you have to believe what you feel. Morrie stated, And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too even when you re in the dark. Even when you re falling. I also learned that you should always look at life in a unique way. During the story Morrie is always looking at life through a different perspective such as when he realized that he is becoming incapable of doing everyday things. ...I have to look at life uniquely... I can sit here with my dwindling days and look at what I think is important in life. I have both the time and the reason to do that. Also through this story I learned that the most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in. Sometimes we think that we do not deserve to be loved and sometimes we think that love is meaningless. In the story Morrie suggests Let it come in... Love is the only rational act. By meeting with his former professor, Mitch Albom is able to take a look in on his life and learn things that took Morrie years to learn. Overall I thought that Tuesdays with Morrie was a great and interesting novel. Out of all the lessons taught to Mitch by Morrie, my favorite would have to be that you should look at life in a unique ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It took over 6 years to rebuild Babi Yar and everything that was destroyed at Babi Yar. Many shelters, homes, buildings, and personal stations were destroyed during the massacre. The Nazis showed no mercy. (Hjelnguard, Kim) After the massacre, the Nazis tried to hide evidence that anything ever happened by covering the dead bodies with nothing but dirt and rock. The Nazis were convicted of what they tried to escape with, and some were caught. They not only tired to hide the bodies with dirt and rock, but they even burned them! • 7. Joh John R. Wooden s Analysis In the notes it describes communitas as a group of people sharing common cultural practices, values, and/or identities (Bustad, lecture, 2017). This relates back to sport and physical activity because although each individual player may live in different locations than another, when they come together for this one sport and act as a team, they share the same values of the game. They also share the same type of identity when playing on the same team or involved in the same physical activity as another individual. John R. Wooden was an American basketball player coach and teacher. He taught philosophy which highly influenced his coaching style. Wooden created the Pyramid of Success, which took him seventeen years to fully construct. The pyramid works as building blocks, each row acts as a foundation for the one above it. Wooden s pyramid of success consists of: industriousness, friendship, loyalty, cooperation and enthusiasm in the first row. The second row has: self control, alertness, initiative, and intentness. Following this in the next row is: condition, skill, and team spirit. The two blocks above that row are: poise and confidence and the top block of the pyramid is competitive greatness. Authority and power are commonly depicted on how much a character holds and how powerful they are through their physical appearances. Edgar and Lear are two characters whose characters change in their physical aspects. Lear uses his army to portray his power in society, but it is his daughters who strip him away for This man hath had good counsel! A hundred knights? (1.iv.331 332). This demonstrates that appearance is power and without his knights he is powerless and has nothing. The fool declares Lear s appearance of nothingness through his crown Thou hadst little wit in thy bald crown when thou gavest thy golden one away (1.iv.160 101). It is the only Southeast Asian country that has never been under European rule. As archaeology studies suggests, 4000 B.C. was the time period where early bronze metallurgy centers were thriving. Metallurgy refers to the science and technology concerned with the properties of metals and their production. This development along with the cultivation of wet rice gave the motivation for social and political organizations to make an appearance. It has more decorative aspects and unique details, the dome that gives it a round shape, where the Parthenon is a rectangular structure. In Parthenon, the columns are constructed of several barrels, and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Analysis Of One Abstains From Dangerous Acts By Ernest Van... Every person have different traits along with their different feelings. But sometimes feelings like fear can change their minds. It is a natural fact that whenever a person flashback with tensed past memory, fear will arise in their minds, And same conditions appear when a person is about to kill someone but unfortunately, a criminal finishes his/her infraction. Ernest van den Haag who was an American sociologist and writer once said in his article One abstains from dangerous acts because of vague, inchoate (beginner), habitual and, above all, preconscious fears . This shows how it allows future teenagers because they look forward towards their parents traits and gains from bad experiences with previous lessons. Fear does change people and ... • 31. Polarized Light Lab Report Experiment 10: Polarized Light Clara Mbamalu November 9th, 2014 Physics 1402 Professor Ndetan Abstract: The purpose of the experiment is to learn more about the polarization of light, polarizing filter and the light intensity changes through polarizing filters. Overview: The action of light is an extraordinary phenomenon. Light, for example, the one emitting from a light bulb, is a form of wave motions that consist of electric and magnetic fields that vibrate at right angles to the direction of travel of a light beam. The electric field that is associated with the light wave oscillates in random directions, but is always in a right angle to the light propagation direction. An unpolarized light is known as a light wave that vibrates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once I began to rotate one of the filters the light became increasingly darker. It appeared to have a tinted affect. The light appeared to change its distinction. Within the second part of the experiment I darkened the room so that the representation of light was more significant. When I had everything hooked up properly I was able to use the measurement tool to make 15degree rotations accordingly. These rotations were not precise and it appeared that it only took me 180degrees to make a full rotation. Considering that the filters were very small. I made a total of 13 readings and they are as follows: 0degrees 4.83ohms, 15degrees 15.39 ohms, 30degrees 18.82 ohms, 45degrees 15.53ohms, 60degrees 12.27ohms, 75degrees 16.60ohms, 90degrees 5.95ohms, 105degrees 9.76ohms, 120degrees 5.24ohms, 135degrees 9.20ohms, 150degrees 12.80ohms, 165degrees 16.58ohms, 180degrees 5.24ohms. These results varied, it appears as though when I made a slight increment to the degrees it made a drastic effect to the meter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Religion vs. Morality Essay To be moral simply means to do what is right; however, doing what is right is easier said than done. Perhaps if one was a child, one would, to the best of their abilities, follow what his parents demand of him, this would constitute them as doing what is right. Now let us say that the child is an orphan, or does not believe what his parents say is right, should following them still be considered moral, or is it even up to him to decide? Perhaps the child has evolved past parenting all together and therefore needs no more guidance. Defining what is considered moral has now become much more complex. Sam Harris presents the same basic argument of morality in his book Letter to a Christian Nation, by applying it not to a child and his parents, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While atheists do not believe in God, it does not mean that they do not serve a god and religion. Capitalism, at least in America, is everyone s religion. It is served each and every day as millions make the pilgrimage to work, to gain the capacities to tithe into the economy by following the ever present sermon of buy, buy, buy. The sermon is far greater than any religion of God, for it is sought out daily by various means such as the television, radio, and advertisements on clothes that society themselves perpetuate. Martin Luther once stated that one s religion is whatever one is willing to sacrifice his children for is his religion and God . Millions are being sacrificed by their economies today; workers are working 12 hour days for less than 2 dollars. Governments are doing all in their powers to keep unions from forming all in the name of capitalism. Therefore if Harris argument is that only morality can be accomplished by atheism, and there is no true form of Atheism, then there can be no true form of morality(religion of the market 67 70). Harris also groups all Christians into one huge pool of rifle toting, homophobes, who s main concern is to prevent murder of the unborn, all the while proclaiming that war is just. However, this is where Harris true ignorance shines. This new groups of Christians , should not even be considered Christians at all. A simple definition of Christian is one who follows Christ wholly, trying their best to live ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Microbiology Uv Light Lab Report Name: Shannon Kelly Microbiology UV Light Lab Report Introduction: Why does Ultra Violet light at 260nm cause the most damage to DNA? Does damage caused by UV light affect DNA in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells alike? UV light at 260nm causes the most damage to DNA because that is the amount of light that DNA absorbs the most light. No, UV light does not affect both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells the same way. For example, in eukaryotic cells there are three different ways DNA can be repaired (photoreactivation, post replication repair excision repair), whereas in prokaryotes excision repair mechanism is used. Explain how do pyrimidine dimers form. Pyrimidine dimers form when DNA is damaged by UV light and they form ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The damaged part of the DNA strand is nicked out by endonucleases that contain the dimer, which is then released from the DNA. After the fragment is released, DNA polymerase fills in the gap with a new strand and DNA ligase will close up the repaired strand. Are endospores more or less resistant to UV light than vegetative cells? What accounts for this increased or decreased resistance to UV light? Endospores are more resistant to UV light than vegetative cells. Endospores have an increased resistance to UV light because of the structure (exosporium) as well as the small acid soluble proteins found inside, which tightly bind and condense the DNA in the endospore. Develop a hypothesis for the experiment conducted. Be sure to include how the length of exposure to UV light and the ability to form endospores affects a cells susceptibility to UV light. (If it is easier you can form two hypotheses one about how lethality is connected to length of exposure to UV light, and another about how the susceptibility of endospores and vegetative cells to UV light. 1. If there is a longer length of time the bacteria is exposed to UV light, then more cells will be killed. 2. If the bacteria exposed to UV light can form endospores, then they are less susceptible to the effects of the UV light and can survive the conditions. Methods: Create/insert a table that includes the exposure times for each microbe used (like table 1 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
