What makes a tragic hero? Aristotle lays down groundwork of a tragic hero as being essentially good.
They are neither villain nor saint because they have flaws. Several elememts are nevcesary to have a
tragic hero, they are the tragic flaw, the reversal, recognition, and hubris. These generally make up the
story of the tragic hero, and in the case of Jocasta, the wife and mother of Oedipus in Sophocles

The Ceiling Art of Pozzo s Triumph of Sain Ignatius of...
#######poorly written######Pozzo s Triumph of Saint Ignatius of Loyola is on the ceiling of the
Church of Sant Ignazio in Rome, and was painted from 1685 1694. It is approximately 56 feet by 115
feet across the ceiling, and uses a quadratura perspective to create an almost three dimensional effect.
While the effect makes the center look much higher, it is actually painted on an arched ceiling called a
barrel vault. This is a fresco painting, a type of coloring that made the painting integral to the
construction of the building or item. Inside the Church of Sant Ignazio, there is a single white tile
indicating where the viewer is intended to stand to truly appreciate Pozzo s work. The scene illustrates
many different saints and other highly viewed people, all ascending towards the sky. There is also
allegorical figures of the 4 continents (America, Europe, Africa, and Asia) attached to the side of the
buildings windows at the base of the painting. The scene is filled with cherubs that seem to be aiding
the continents and saints. At the center of the painting, Saint Ignatius is following Christ into heaven,
with beams of light coming from his body towards the four continents. The arches at the ends of the
painting also add to the illusion that the center of the painting is much higher than the rest of it. Saint
Francis Xavier is also shown in the work ascending towards the heavens.

No living situation is perfect. Live alone, and you get more freedom and control over your living
space, but often at a higher cost and without the social aspect of living with other people, while living
with roommates comes with more human connection and the need for constant compromise. Like any
other living situation, life in a small self governing community like Telluride House has its own
unique complement of advantages of disadvantages. As a current member of the relatively small
Women in Science and Engineering residential community at the University of Michigan, I can say
from experience that one of the most valuable benefits of this living style is the automatic
companionship that it affords. Simply living in this certain space affords every individual an automatic
membership in a group, and this shared membership fosters a sense of community. It s a basis for
relationships even if one member has relatively little in common with another, the fact that both
people live in the same community creates an opportunity to connect that would likely not exist in the
absence of that shared membership.
Another substantial benefit of living in a small, self governing community is the fact that each person

This week I did an exploration into heat propagation. I chose to do applications on both a linear item
and a two dimensional item. I have very rarely chosen to do mathematical applications with
connections to physics, and I wanted to move out of my comfort zone. The question of this
exploration is what happens to the temperature of an object when subjected to external constant heat
sources of different temperatures. My initial thought is that the item would reach a new constant
temperature. My initial hypothesis was wrong. In this model I leaned that even though the heat
sources are constant the temperature of the rod expands to a linear bridge from one heat source to
another. I chose to follow one of the examples from our text book since I have limited background in
physics. The first situation that I explored is how heat is transferred along a linear metal rod with two
stable heat sources, of different temperatures, at the ends (Neuwirth, 2004). The model starts with an
assumption that each section of the rod will share 40% of the difference in temperature with its
adjacent sections with heat moving from warmer sections to cooler sections. The model starts with the

Manette, The Doctor Who Became A Hero Round characters in fiction, unlike static characters and
flat characters, are extremely realistic, behaving and speaking in a real life manner...complex and
increases in complexity throughout the story ( Round character. ). In A Tale Of Two Cities, Dr.
Manette acts as one of the primary, round characters. Due to his unjust time in prison, Dr. Manette
appears to be emotionally unstable, but his personality changes drastically over the course of the story.
Dr. Manette starts off as a broken old man, changes into a better person with the help of his
companions, and becomes a foil for the most ruthless character in the entire novel. Although several
characters, like Sydney, go through large amounts of change, Dr. Manette holds the title of the

In Book The First , Dr. Manette appears to be emotionally unstable due to his time in prison. Before

tolerance? Attitude of the world today is continuously changing due to policy and

The current status of society and how we see homosexuality in today s world is
and will always and forever evolving. In addition, the greater social acceptance of homosexuality in

In New York City, a group of young men decided to make the game of rounders more suitable for
adults. There have been records that indicate the game called base ball was played in what is now
considered to be lower midtown Manhattan in 1842. On September 23, 1845, the Knickerbocker Base
Ball Club baseball s first team was formed in New York City. There was no other baseball club that
was more influential than the Knickerbockers. Its founder was a bank clerk named Alexander J.
Cartwright, and the co founder, Dr. Daniel Adams. The Knickerbockers adopted baseball s first
uniform, which consisted of blue pants, white shirts and straw hats. Cartwright and Adams were
responsible for coming up with some of the rules of baseball, although they have been changed.
November 18, 1853 there was a meeting held to decide who should be on the committee to make all
the rules. Dr. Adams, Abraham Tucker, and Duncan Curry were among the ones that were chosen

The previous name for one of the monuments honoring 9 11 was Freedom Tower before it was
changed to One World Trade Center . Another trait is that even when hit in difficult times, the people
in a nation can join forces and bring their country back to its feet. Volunteers, firefighters, policemen
