Understanding Of Local Area Network Technologies Essay
Final Report AS 91377 Demonstrate understanding of local area network technologies
Adam Major
Networking Concepts
describe what the user will mainly use a specific LAN for
A LAN network (Local Area Network) is an establishment created when clients or devices such as
computers and phones etc. with the right networking specifications allowing them to be connected
with each other using a common connecion such as Ethernet or wireless. This establishment allows
the sharing of resources from the device through the network and to the desired destination such as
another device e.g. Mobile phone, pc, tablet etc. all locally within the network by Ethernet etc. In this
scenario the LAN network is used for gaming where two computers connected to the same network
are trying to connect with each other to allow an established connection between the two allowing
data to be shared, effectively creating a game server. A user will mainly use a specific LAN to share
data between clients by pairing them together.
Ethernet is the most commonly used LAN technology. It is used to transmit data locally from the
network router and to devices manually connecting them to the network by wire using copper cabling.

without the need for a server to connect to. Each peer has the

Why Guns Should Be Banned
Is it time to ban guns? Yes guns must be banned because they are the causes of many deaths amongst
the people of the U.S today. Gun violence result in fifty percent of today s tragedies. Handguns causes
too many deaths, the government need to make gun less accessible, and the law enforcement need to
really enforce the laws they make. First, and foremost many handguns have claimed the lives of too
many people. This is a very serious issue we must tackle globally not just in the United States. 1.7
million children live with unlocked, loaded guns. Gun violence is the third leading death among young
people. 1 out of 5 guns are unfortunately sold without a background check (Beckett). And not to
mention Guns also increase suicide rates in the U.S Every week a school shooting occurs in the U.S
(Sharon). April 16 2007 Virginia Tech , 32 people killed and 17 others wounded. December 14, 2012
Sandy Hook Elementary school, 28 children shot, these incidents were just a couple of the deadliest
mass shootings in the US. In 2012 Dedrick Owens age Six opens fire at Kayla Rolland. This shows
me that we should make the laws more strict and makes more gun policy with a kid even touching a
gun And or having the gun in a place where a child could reach it. More than 75 percent of first and
second graders know where their parents keep their firearms and 36 percent admitted handling the
weapon. (Gun Violence: Facts and Statistics). This makes it a lot easier for children to

Bourdieu Cultural Capital Analysis
Discuss Bourdieu s ideas on cultural capital in relation to foodies. Introduction: The insight of status
in relation to foodies is strongly manifested within the foodie culture. Food plays an important role in
society as it is essential to life and it reflects upon social and cultural consumptions. This essay will
discuss how Bourdieu s ideas on the cultural capital have influenced the identity of foodies in the
society. The essay will first explore and define Bourdieu s concept of the cultural capital. The essay
will then illustrate the emergence of the foodie identity, and further explain the association in regards
to the concept of cultural capital. The essay will also analyze the dispute whether or not foodies still

Most foodies are known as upper class promoters of elite consumptions which largely impacts the
development of social identity and class differences. As explained by Johnston and Baumann (2014),
foodies tend to consume foods that are traditionally connected with high status goods. The food they
consume includes imported and expensive foods, which creates a fence among the poor individuals.
Even though, most foodies consume foods from both high and low cost groups. It does not mean that
all foodies are traditionally ingrained to high status goods. Rather, they utilize such district of interest
in describing if food is worthy and unworthy (Johnston Baumann, 2014). According to Johnston and
Baumann (2014) interview towards twenty six foodies, foodies use their taste and practices to raise
their social status and distinction of cultural capital to receive social privileges. This means that their
decision towards what to consume, what type food to choose and how to advertise the food, indicate
cultural component which foodies consider it to be sophisticated. An example Guptill et al. (2013),
have mentioned is the growth of consuming donuts in Canada. Donuts in Canada has become an
accessible food towards the working class individuals. Yet, the foodies would turn it into something
more sophisticated to represent the food in a unique way. Thus, this describes the emergence of more

Catherine The Great s Influence In Russia
Sophie Friederike Auguste von Anhalt Zerbst Dornburg later named Catherine the Great was born on
May 2, 1729 and died November 17, 1796. She was the daughter Christian August, Prince of Anhalt
Zerbst a minor German prince. She lived in Russia and was eventually the empress of Russia and
carried on the work her father Peter the Great began. In 1744 Catherine arrived in Russia, acquired the
title of Grand Duchess Catherine Alekseyevna, and she married her young cousin Grand Duke Peter
that following year. She was a well educated empress who ruled from 1762 to 1796 and had the
longest reign of any female leader of Russia. Catherine agreed the best form of government was the
one that closely controls the actions of its citizens and the course of its economy because she was an
absolute monarch that held power ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She ruled with absolute authority but also desired to reform Russia. In 1767 Catherine formed a
commission to review Russia s laws. She presented with a brilliant proposal for reforms based on the
ideas of Montesquieu and Beccaria, and Catherine recommended allowing religious toleration and to
abolish torture and capital punishment; however, she never accomplished any of these worthy goals.
She began as an enlightened absolutist and she strengthened noble rights and wanted to give rights to
serfs and tie serfs to nobles instead of the land they worked on. Catherine previously favored to end
serfdom; however, Pugachev s Rebellion would eventually convince her that she needed the support
of the nobles in order to keep her power over the serfs. As a result, Russian serfs lost their last
remnants of freedom. Also during Catherine s rule, Russia achieved military success and her army
crushed rebellion, she helped reorganize administration laws. Russia also gained large portions of
land. At the end of Catherine the Great s rule Russia became an international

Health And Sustainability Of Marine Ecosystem Degradation
Goal 14 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) seeks to conserve and sustainably use the
oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. Targets 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4, 14.5
and 14.a, aim to improve the health and sustainability of marine ecosystems by a specified date, and
avoid adverse impacts to the environment by addressing specific kinds of marine pollution. These are
measurable in so far that it is scientifically possible to quantify nutrient pollution, ocean acidity,
marine debris, biodiversity etc., across space and time, as well as the impacts of such indicators on
other areas of the environment. In principle the lack of analysis of certain aspects of marine ecosystem
degradation makes it somewhat difficult to identify causal mechanisms in changes to the environment.
Targets to improve scientific cooperation and knowledge relating to marine ecosystems, 14.3, 14.5 and
14.a, can be measured in relation to increased international and cross sector cooperation and improved
research outcomes. Observable sustainable socio economic development of SIDs and LDCs can be
used to measure the achievement of targets 14.7, 14.a and 14.b. Improvements to the regulation of
destructive fishing practises, enforcement of international law and reduction of perverse subsidies
(14.4, 14.6 and 14.c) can only be partially measured given the size of the ocean and that much illegal
activity goes undetected. It is also important to note that an assessment of these

where you can not. Fortunately, Americans have the privilege of individual rights to have their own

Essay on Loving v. Virginia (388 U.S. 1)
On July 11, 1958 a couple of hours after midnight, Richard Loving a white man and Mildred Loving
an African American woman were awakened to the presence of three officers in their bedroom. One of
the three officers demanded from Richard to identify the woman next to him. Mildred, full of fear, told
the officers that she was his wife, while Richard pointed to the marriage license on the wall. The
couple was then charged and later found guilty in violation of the state s anti miscegenation statute.
Mr. and Mrs. Loving were residents of the small town of Central point, Virginia. They were family
friends who had dated each other since he was seventeen and she a teenager. When they learned that

to the same degree. Thus, ... because its miscegenation statutes punish equally both the white and the
Negro participants in an interracial marriage, these statutes, ... do not constitute an invidious
discrimination based upon race.
The court also referred to its 1955 decision in Naim v. Naim as stating the reasons supporting the
validity of the anti miscegenation laws. In Naim, the state court concluded that the State s legitimate
purposes were quot;to preserve the racial integrity of its citizens, quot; and to prevent quot;the
corruption of blood, quot; quot;a mongrel breed of citizens, quot; and quot;the obliteration of racial
pride, quot; obviously an endorsement of the doctrine of White Supremacy. The court also reasoned
that marriage has traditionally been subject to state regulation without federal intervention, and
consequently, the regulation of marriage should be left to exclusive state control by the Tenth
Amendment.
The statements related to the courts attempt to quot;preserve the racial integrity of its citizens quot;
would have been ludicrous any place but was especially laughable in Caroline County, and in the
Lovings hometown of Central Point, which had been an epicenter of race mixing for at least 200
years. White families and their fair skinned black relatives lived so close together that they bumped

Self Destruction In The Black Cat By Edgar Allen Poe
By analyzing The Black Cat by Edgar Allen Poe, we can see that the main character in the story makes
exceptionally perverse choices. The motive for his actions can be found in clues given throughout the
story. We can investigate what happened to the man, and see exactly what caused him to respond in
such a violent manner. To further look into the motives for the characters actions, we must inspect and
evaluate whether it was self destruction that turned him mad, or an effect of outside events.
The narrator acts in a way that shows us that he has self destructive tendencies. We can assume this
after we see him kill his cat, and in other parts of the story. He regrets killing his cat almost
instantaneously. He says, I experienced a sentiment half of horror, half of remorse, for the crime of
which I had been guilty (Poe 5). He deeply regrets cutting the cats eye out. He decided to kill the cat
because he was so emotionally guilty. He tells us, One night, returning home, much intoxicated, from
one of my haunts about town. (Poe 5). He was drunk, and this means that alcohol played an essential
part in his perverse decisions. The fact that his house burned down the night of the murder is
symbolic. The night of the day that he killed Pluto, he says, The curtains of my bed were in flames.
The whole house was blazing (Poe 6). His house is all of his achievements and worldly wealth, and it
was burned to the ground in flames. It is a direct result of his sin of murdering the innocent cat. It
could be seen as a symbol of his eternal destiny. It is a punishment for killing the cat.
While alcohol is a killer, outside influences could be the main reason for the characters perverse
actions. The character mentions his childhood briefly in the beginning of the story. I view the act as
the climax of inner, suppressed anxieties that are contained in how the narrator goes back to when he
was a young boy. His friends made fun of him for being so nice and docile. My tenderness of heart
was even so conspicuous as to make me the jest of my companions (Poe 3). His friends seem to have
made fun of him because he was a good person. He spent most of his time with his animals. His time
he spent could have been because his

The Last Dynasty Of Isin
From 1975 to 1954 BCE, Iddin Dagan ruled the city of Isin, which is located a little south of Nippur.
Iddin Dagan is loved by the gods, especially An, Enki, and Enlil. Because these three gods favored
Iddin Dagan, he was able to have a successful ruling, filled with abundance of agriculture, a
population increase, and a strong military presence. Ultimately, this shows that religion fuels power,
and without a strong religious presence the ruler would not have an impactful kingship, which truly
benefits the people of his realm.
Isin is the last dynasty that is mentioned in the Sumerian King List. Iddin Dagan was the third king of
the first dynasty of Isin. During the twentieth and nineteenth centuries, decentralizing forces were
strong, which led to an increasing number of local dynasties to come to power, such as the Isin
dynasty (Vdm, 90, document 5.2). The dynasty of Isin was started by Ishbi Erra, when he freed the
city of Ur and brought the local dynasty to Isin. Ishbi Erra continued a lot of the same practices of the
Ur III dynasty in the Isin dynasty.
This document, A Praise Poem of Iddin Dagan, is considered Sumerian royal praise poetry, which
often depicted and praised the various achievements, strengths and accomplishments of rulers in the
ancient Near East. Royal praise poetry can be used to analyze the legitimacy of a king and how he
ruled, how his people felt about him, and his relationship with the gods. Strong and successful kings
tended to have a close

The Dietary Guidelines On The Consumption Of Saturated Fats
For decades, the US Dietary Guidelines on the consumption of saturated fats has been suggesting that
consumers should be mindful of how dangerous they are to the human body and take active steps to
reduce these fats in their diets (American Heart Association). This advice is usually presented as the
claim that increased cholesterol levels and their adverse health effect can be attributed to these
harmful fatty substances. However, scientific research is forcing a change of perspective on how
saturated fats are viewed. Research now suggests they are not necessarily harmful to the body as is
commonly perceived. For this paper examines whether or not the US Dietary Guidelines reflect the
best practices in nutritional science as it relates to consuming saturated fats and the maintenance good
cardiovascular health. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) published the first dietary
recommendations in 1894 (Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotions U.S. Department of
Agriculture) and over time the familiar artifacts that have become a part of nutritional data such as
recommended daily allowances and food guides were developed (Center for Nutrition Policy and
Promotions U.S. Department of Agriculture). Since 1980, that agency has collaborated with the
Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to publish the Dietary Guidelines for Americans
(Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotions U.S. Department of Agriculture) and this is done every
five years. There is also input

that they wrote poetry secretly and, became Samurai in a ceremony called genpuku live according to

Forensic Accounting And Fraud Examination
Problem 1 12
With 20 percent of the inventory missing, along with large portions of the written and computer
records, Mary Soto should hire an external forensic account. Mary should not jump to conclusions and
call the police just yet, but may need to do so according to the findings of the forensic accountant.
Even if thefts have occurred calling the police and alerting the employees of her suspicion will not
always be in the best interest of Mary or the company. In our textbook Forensic Accounting and Fraud
Examination George Young asserts:
It is especially important in the initial notification and evaluation stage to keep the matter as quiet and
secret as is legally possible. In many cases, especially in small businesses, the owner manager s initial
reaction is associated with anger and an overwhelming desire to confront the suspected employee.
This temptation must be strongly resisted. Confronting the suspect too soon is one of the most
damaging things that can be done in an investigation. It is much better first to secretly gather all the
facts and understand the mechanics of the suspect s fraud scheme.
If Mary is not careful she could create some legal missteps which could further damage her and the
company. For example, Mary could be sued for defamation if it is found out that the missing records
and estimated losses are due to an accounting anomaly. However, with an estimated 20 percent of the
inventory missing, combined with the large amount of data missing

The European Union ( Brexit ) And The Refugee Crisis
Two consistent trends have been reported within reputable sources regarding the topic of the European
Union are the upcoming E.U. referendum taking place in Britain (Brexit) and the refugee crisis. The
European Union is faced with its impending decline, which has accelerated in recent weeks with
concerns about the British referendum becoming an immediate issue on the continent. A possible
Brexit could possibly lead to the fifth largest economy in the world and the second largest economy in
the Eurozone from leaving the European Union (E.U). The Brexit is the most contested issue both
within the United Kingdom (U.K) and the European continent. In the wake of a rampant security and
refugee crises in Europe, Europe s need to have an economically strong member of the E.U is needed
to combat the difficulties the continent is facing, particularly the Mediterranean members of the E.U
who are most heavily affected by the influx of people escaping Syria and Turkey, taking refuge in
recovering countries such as Greece, in hope of further immigrating to their country of choice, namely
Germany and Austria.
With tensions in the Middle East escalating, the refugee crisis in Europe is worsening, the increasing
number of people is led the E.U to consider isolating Greece from the rest of the Schengen area

The Balance Of Power Theory
Balance of power theory represents a body of interrelated concepts for achieving security and stability
by maintaining an equal distribution of power throughout the international system. Some critics
contend that the theory cannot provide guidance to states in a unipolar system since it developed out
of centuries of multipolarity and decades of bipolarity. This assessment is incorrect. Although a
specific conception of balance of power theory may not provide guidance, an appraisal of the concepts
within its various forms suggests continuing relevance. This paper discusses balance of power theory
by examining the evolution of its structural and ideational variants, and asserts that the concept
remains relevant in a unipolar international system. The balance of power is a historical concept with a
variety of meanings. In Thucydides account of the Melian dialogue, he indirectly refers to countries
balancing in response to growing Athenian power and aggression (Thucydides, 1972). Over 1200
years later, Hobbes described balancing in reference to the ability of a confederacy of the weak to
overwhelm the strong (Hobbes, 1996). Both Thucydides and Hobbes reference a type of balancing
aimed at reestablishing an equilibrium of power within the international system. Gulick refers to this
behavior by states as a doctrine of counterpoise, designed to ensure the survival of individual states
and to prevent a state from accruing predominant power (Gulick, 1955). During the 19th

skateboard allows it to be maneuvered easily for tricks. On the other hand, longboards are built for

Rocky Mountain Locust Essay
First part (physical description): Jackson: The Rocky Mountain Locust, Melanoplus spretus, resembles
the common grasshopper. It is of the Acridinae or short horned grasshopper, family, a family found all
through North America, distinguished by a spine located near where the first two legs attach. The
Rocky Mountain Locust was 20 35 mm in length, or around 1 inch long. The Locust could also rub its
legs together to chirp and had wings were long and capable of flight. The wings stretched further past
its abdomen in comparison to its closest living relative, Melanoplus sanguinipes, the red legged

Second part (behavioral characteristics):
Artemis: Locusts have two phases: 1) a phase in which they are solitary, and 2) a phase in which they
swarm together in large groups, this is called the gregarious phase . The locusts used to swarm every 7

Isabel Briggs Myers s Typology Personality Test
After finishing Carl Jung s and Isabel Briggs Myers typology personality test, I found out that my
personality type is Introverted Intuition with Extraverted Feeling (INFJ). INFJ, also known as the
Protector, are gentle, caring, complex and highly intuitive individuals. After reading about my
personality type, I found that I agree with most of the following results. I have taken a few personality
tests in the past and all of them have resulted in similar answers. Thus, when I read through my results
I was not surprised by most of the answers. On the other hand, while I was reading through the results,
I was surprised by INFJ being a rare personality type and only one percent of the population have it.
Another instance where I was surprised ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other than that, I found the following to be accurate on my personality. Granted, I think the following
results are useful to me because the personality test gives me options on a certain career fields I could
potentially consider for my personality type. The information will help me in figuring out my future
career because I am one of those people who has not figured out what I want to do for the rest of my
life. I think the results will help guide me into the right direction for a career. Finally, after exploring
the personality page links, I learned that I appear to seem like an extrovert but I am an introvert. The
following means that I am so well at connecting with people that it seems like I am an extrovert. Also,
I learned that I am strongly humanitarian in outlook. I am not surprised by this because I have been
told by others that I am an individual who always tries to help make things better for not just a
community but for others. Overall, I found the personality test to be very informative and I am
definitely going to pay close attention to certain areas about my personality type to see if my
personality really is like the test says it

Abu Ghraib Analysis
After watching the video on the MP s in Abu Ghraib, I would have to say that the whistleblower acted
in authority as an MP to report his cohorts. As for the 7 that were accused of the crime, they acted in
social conformity. I feel like it was a think group gone wrong. the ringleader had a more powerful
personality than the others, so he lead them along. I believe the thinking came from the idea that those
people were the enemy and should be treated as if they were. Often times when people are exposed to
traumatic situations they lose the ability to make choices on there own as well as the sense of what is
right and wrong. I am not making excuses for their actions. However, I think in a case of war the
whole idea of right and wrong could easily be lost. when people are dealing with trauma and they have
no idea how to comprehend like In such case they follow the lead of the strongest personality to get

The, A Linguistic Anthropologist, There Are Many...
As a linguistic anthropologist, there are many inferences we can make about the type of place this lost
tribe lived based on a few key phrases in their language. For instance, we can infer that because they
have no word for ocean, they lived in an environment that was inland. Based on the statement that the
only terrain this tribe knew of was absolutely flat, rolling and slightly hilly, we can presume two
conclusions: They were not aware of mountains, and they had a small radius of land in which they
traveled. If one travels in any direction for a long enough time, one is bound to find either an ocean or
a mountain, so the fact they did not know what either of these were insinuates that they may not have
traveled very much. A reason for this could be that they wanted to preserve the climate they had. If
you combine the information that says dozens of words exist for grain, including eight for wheat
alone, that they had no words for beef, pork, veal, leather or mutton, and that there are several words
for precipitation, most of which translate to rain, we can presume that it is likely that they may not
have traveled from their home land very much, because they did not know if there would be rain in
places they would travel to. Rain may have been a key element to their survival, so they did not want
to leave a place that had it. Building upon the presumptions I have made, I will attempt to analyze
what this lost tribes values and beliefs may have been. As I said previously,

Between 1928 and 1971, one million immigrants came to Canada through Pier 21 alone. However, not
everyone is familiar with Pier 21, so what is it actually? Pier 21 was an ocean liner terminal and
immigration shed from 1928 to 1971 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and it is the last surviving seaport
immigration facility in Canada. The Pier was the primary point of entry for over one million
immigrants and refugees from Europe and elsewhere, as well as the departure point for half million
military personal Canadian troops during World War Two. The facility became known informally as
the Gateway to Canada. ( ) In its first years of operation, Pier 21 greeted many Dutch and English

Applying Dynamic Systems Theory Concepts And Ecological...
Introduction The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analyze a case that involves a six year old
girl with behavior problems believed to result from past sexual abuse. Using a holistic biopsychosocial
approach during analysis should provide useful information for applying theories to show causes and
effects of her experiences and behavior. At the completion of analysis, I will have learned the
importance of knowing the whole integrated systems, how to apply dynamic systems theory concepts
and ecological perspectives when assessing a case, and how to identify strengths and limitations of
theories.
Biopsychosocial Assessment
Biological
This case is about Emma. Emma was a full term baby, and because she was full term, one could
assume all her major organs were fully developed. Her brain was normal for a full term baby, as well.
One could speculate the reason she met all early developmental milestones was due to being full term.
Looking from a neurobiological perspective, we know very little about Emma s brain; however, we do
know her conduct is of concern to both her mother and pediatrician. At a crucial stage of brain
development, Emma experienced sexual abuse. One could conclude that her brain was neurologically
affected which has resulted in behavior problems due to the condition of her environment.
Psychological
It took a great deal of courage for Emma to tell her mother about the abuse, and her mother was
courageous enough to report it immediately and seek

all the girls could think about. Reason was completely missinterpreted by the girls. They

Danse dei Chivau Frus is described as theme B. The theme B begins on bar 21 in D major until bar

brass enters by playing bass in tremolo. Variations of instrumentations can be seen from here.
Tambourin keeps the eighth note whenever theme B is used. For example on bar 17, it emphasizes the
first beat by putting an accent theret, which also makes the strong feeling of two. String instruments

Diversity In The Classroom
Maya Angelou once said, It is time for parents to teach young people early on that in diversity there is
beauty and there is strength. When we send our children to school, they are segregated based on the
letter D (diversity, disabled, dysfunction), showing the young that not all children can enjoy the same
educational opportunities that they are provided in schools. This is due to a controversial topic among
teachers and parents known as inclusion. It s time we put an end to this separation and bring inclusive
classrooms to all schools. Inclusion secures opportunities for students with disabilities to learn
alongside their non disabled peers in general education classrooms. Classrooms that establish a

Their minds spinning with the thought that their children will be brushed to the side and not given the
same attention, while teacher fear they become frazzled. They tend to believe that children with
disabilities are uneducable or are a burden on the mainstream educational system. Segregating
students with disabilities can lead to a greater gap between society and themselves, a situation that
people with disabilities face daily. But imagine the parents of the children who are not given the same
educational opportunities, parents of disabled students understand better than anyone, the fears, and
struggles that come into teaching their children. In America nearly 40 percent of children with
disabilities do not graduate (Diamont, 2015). Low expectations and lack of discipline are likely to play
a major key. Special Education classes also do not provide any form of transition between a sheltered
school environment and the real world. Not being able to conduct themselves in social situations or
proper ways of handling overwhelming stress in a job field, these all of potentially disastrous results.
Oleta Garrett Fitzgerald, director of the Children s Defense Fund s Southern Regional Office, stated:
Young people who generally end up in trouble were not prepared from the beginning educationally,
the biggest reasons students end up in the corrections system is school failure. (Mader,

The Role Of PTSD In Soldiers
PTSD is a disease/disorder that many of our own soldiers have to live with for the rest of their lives.
PTSD is a slept on thing that many people do not believe in. About 11 20 out of every 100 soldiers
have to live with it. Many soldiers live with PTSD because of how life threatening and stressful war
is. It s a very hard thing to avoid when being in such bad conditions or experiencing things most
people won t during a life time. During a given year about 8 million adults have PTSD( U.S
Department of Veteran Affairs, 2015). That s crazy because they and their family members have to
live with that. I personally don t think I could deal with it . I would try to get a dog or something to
help cope with it. Veterns from the Vietnam war was the worst cause for PTSD. Vietnam was one of
the most severe wars that caused PTSD with a total of 47,378 deaths. About 15 out of 100 Vietnam
soldiers have PTSD or had PTSD from this war( U.S Department of Veteran Affairs, 2015). ... Show

For Example, one of the biggest causes is very long deployment time and being more exposed to war.
Se more someone sees combat the more likely that person is to get PTSD. After a While, war and
seeing things or people being blown up and people dying can really take a toll on a human s mind. Not
anyone in their right minds could see a guy lose its arm or leg and be fine after that. People who are in
the infantry (soldiers who are in live fire almost all the time) are more suseptiable to get PTSD. Also,
if you are in officer (took ROTC in college) or a higher rank in the military means you have more
authority over lower enlisted people (straight out of high school). By that you can almost pick your
jobs when at a higher or officer rank rather then when you are a E 1 E 5 (E stands for enlisted and the

Natural Selection
Part B.
Over the millions of years organisms have been present on earth, there has been many forms of
evidence to suggest animals are evolving through natural selection. However, the question still
remains as to whether homo sapiens are still evolving through natural selection. Through the nature of
science being subject to change and many new discoveries being made each day, it is difficult to make
clear confined theories and conclusions, which will not be impacted on in the future.

statement of evolution by natural selection is no longer applicable to homo sapiens in Australia would

Slide 22:
The main idea which discredits and contradicts evolution involves the idea that evolution proceeds by
random chance. However in Australia and among homo sapiens the only evidence to support the idea
that evolution is occurring are as a result of an organism evolving in order to adapt to the changing
environmental conditions of Australia.
Slide 23:
In conclusion, there are many different forms of evidence to support the idea of evolution by natural
selection among homo sapiens in Australia. With reference to the scientific theories and information
present today, it becomes obvious that homo sapiens in Australia are still evolving and will continue to
over time in order to cope with and adapt to environmental changes.
In the words of Sir Charles Darwin, It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most
intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.

  • 2. Understanding Of Local Area Network Technologies Essay Final Report AS 91377 Demonstrate understanding of local area network technologies Adam Major Networking Concepts describe what the user will mainly use a specific LAN for A LAN network (Local Area Network) is an establishment created when clients or devices such as computers and phones etc. with the right networking specifications allowing them to be connected with each other using a common connecion such as Ethernet or wireless. This establishment allows the sharing of resources from the device through the network and to the desired destination such as another device e.g. Mobile phone, pc, tablet etc. all locally within the network by Ethernet etc. In this scenario the LAN network is used for gaming where two computers connected to the same network are trying to connect with each other to allow an established connection between the two allowing data to be shared, effectively creating a game server. A user will mainly use a specific LAN to share data between clients by pairing them together. Ethernet is the most commonly used LAN technology. It is used to transmit data locally from the network router and to devices manually connecting them to the network by wire using copper cabling. compare and contrast the characteristics and the purposes of peer to peer LANs and client/server LANs Peer to Peer LAN A peer to peer (P2P) network consists of nodes with equal privileges able to send data to each other without the need for a server to connect to. • 3. Why Guns Should Be Banned Is it time to ban guns? Yes guns must be banned because they are the causes of many deaths amongst the people of the U.S today. Gun violence result in fifty percent of today s tragedies. Handguns causes too many deaths, the government need to make gun less accessible, and the law enforcement need to really enforce the laws they make. First, and foremost many handguns have claimed the lives of too many people. This is a very serious issue we must tackle globally not just in the United States. 1.7 million children live with unlocked, loaded guns. Gun violence is the third leading death among young people. 1 out of 5 guns are unfortunately sold without a background check (Beckett). And not to mention Guns also increase suicide rates in the U.S Every week a school shooting occurs in the U.S (Sharon). April 16 2007 Virginia Tech , 32 people killed and 17 others wounded. Introduction: The insight of status in relation to foodies is strongly manifested within the foodie culture. Food plays an important role in society as it is essential to life and it reflects upon social and cultural consumptions. This essay will discuss how Bourdieu s ideas on the cultural capital have influenced the identity of foodies in the society. The essay will first explore and define Bourdieu s concept of the cultural capital. The essay will then illustrate the emergence of the foodie identity, and further explain the association in regards to the concept of cultural capital. Most foodies are known as upper class promoters of elite consumptions which largely impacts the development of social identity and class differences. As explained by Johnston and Baumann (2014), foodies tend to consume foods that are traditionally connected with high status goods. The food they consume includes imported and expensive foods, which creates a fence among the poor individuals. Even though, most foodies consume foods from both high and low cost groups. It does not mean that all foodies are traditionally ingrained to high status goods. Rather, they utilize such district of interest in describing if food is worthy and unworthy (Johnston Baumann, 2014). According to Johnston and Baumann (2014) interview towards twenty six foodies, foodies use their taste and practices to raise their social status and distinction of cultural capital to receive social privileges. This means that their decision towards what to consume, what type food to choose and how to advertise the food, indicate cultural component which foodies consider it to be sophisticated. An example Guptill et al. (2013), have mentioned is the growth of consuming donuts in Canada. Donuts in Canada has become an accessible food towards the working class individuals. Yet, the foodies would turn it into something more sophisticated to represent the food in a unique way. Thus, this describes the emergence of more ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Catherine The Great s Influence In Russia Sophie Friederike Auguste von Anhalt Zerbst Dornburg later named Catherine the Great was born on May 2, 1729 and died November 17, 1796. She was the daughter Christian August, Prince of Anhalt Zerbst a minor German prince. She lived in Russia and was eventually the empress of Russia and carried on the work her father Peter the Great began. In 1744 Catherine arrived in Russia, acquired the title of Grand Duchess Catherine Alekseyevna, and she married her young cousin Grand Duke Peter that following year. She was a well educated empress who ruled from 1762 to 1796 and had the longest reign of any female leader of Russia. She presented with a brilliant proposal for reforms based on the ideas of Montesquieu and Beccaria, and Catherine recommended allowing religious toleration and to abolish torture and capital punishment; however, she never accomplished any of these worthy goals. She began as an enlightened absolutist and she strengthened noble rights and wanted to give rights to serfs and tie serfs to nobles instead of the land they worked on. Catherine previously favored to end serfdom; however, Pugachev s Rebellion would eventually convince her that she needed the support of the nobles in order to keep her power over the serfs. As a result, Russian serfs lost their last remnants of freedom. • 6. Health And Sustainability Of Marine Ecosystem Degradation Goal 14 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) seeks to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. Targets 14.1, 14.2, 14.3, 14.4, 14.5 and 14.a, aim to improve the health and sustainability of marine ecosystems by a specified date, and avoid adverse impacts to the environment by addressing specific kinds of marine pollution. These are measurable in so far that it is scientifically possible to quantify nutrient pollution, ocean acidity, marine debris, biodiversity etc., across space and time, as well as the impacts of such indicators on other areas of the environment. In principle the lack of analysis of certain aspects of marine ecosystem degradation makes it somewhat difficult to identify causal mechanisms in changes to the environment. Targets to improve scientific cooperation and knowledge relating to marine ecosystems, 14.3, 14.5 and 14.a, can be measured in relation to increased international and cross sector cooperation and improved research outcomes. Observable sustainable socio economic development of SIDs and LDCs can be used to measure the achievement of targets 14.7, 14.a and 14.b. Improvements to the regulation of destructive fishing practises, enforcement of international law and reduction of perverse subsidies (14.4, 14.6 and 14.c) can only be partially measured given the size of the ocean and that much illegal activity goes undetected. Virginia (388 U.S. 1) On July 11, 1958 a couple of hours after midnight, Richard Loving a white man and Mildred Loving an African American woman were awakened to the presence of three officers in their bedroom. One of the three officers demanded from Richard to identify the woman next to him. Mildred, full of fear, told the officers that she was his wife, while Richard pointed to the marriage license on the wall. The couple was then charged and later found guilty in violation of the state s anti miscegenation statute. Mr. and Mrs. Loving were residents of the small town of Central point, Virginia. The court also referred to its 1955 decision in Naim v. Naim as stating the reasons supporting the validity of the anti miscegenation laws. The court also reasoned that marriage has traditionally been subject to state regulation without federal intervention, and consequently, the regulation of marriage should be left to exclusive state control by the Tenth Amendment. The statements related to the courts attempt to quot;preserve the racial integrity of its citizens quot; would have been ludicrous any place but was especially laughable in Caroline County, and in the Lovings hometown of Central Point, which had been an epicenter of race mixing for at least 200 years. • 10. Self Destruction In The Black Cat By Edgar Allen Poe By analyzing The Black Cat by Edgar Allen Poe, we can see that the main character in the story makes exceptionally perverse choices. The motive for his actions can be found in clues given throughout the story. We can investigate what happened to the man, and see exactly what caused him to respond in such a violent manner. To further look into the motives for the characters actions, we must inspect and evaluate whether it was self destruction that turned him mad, or an effect of outside events. The narrator acts in a way that shows us that he has self destructive tendencies. We can assume this after we see him kill his cat, and in other parts of the story. He regrets killing his cat almost instantaneously. He says, I experienced a sentiment half of horror, half of remorse, for the crime of which I had been guilty (Poe 5). He deeply regrets cutting the cats eye out. He decided to kill the cat because he was so emotionally guilty. He tells us, One night, returning home, much intoxicated, from one of my haunts about town. (Poe 5). He was drunk, and this means that alcohol played an essential part in his perverse decisions. The fact that his house burned down the night of the murder is symbolic. The night of the day that he killed Pluto, he says, The curtains of my bed were in flames. The whole house was blazing (Poe 6). His house is all of his achievements and worldly wealth, and it was burned to the ground in flames. It is a direct result of his sin of murdering the innocent cat. It could be seen as a symbol of his eternal destiny. It is a punishment for killing the cat. While alcohol is a killer, outside influences could be the main reason for the characters perverse actions. The character mentions his childhood briefly in the beginning of the story. I view the act as the climax of inner, suppressed anxieties that are contained in how the narrator goes back to when he was a young boy. His friends made fun of him for being so nice and docile. My tenderness of heart was even so conspicuous as to make me the jest of my companions (Poe 3). His friends seem to have made fun of him because he was a good person. • 11. The Last Dynasty Of Isin From 1975 to 1954 BCE, Iddin Dagan ruled the city of Isin, which is located a little south of Nippur. Iddin Dagan is loved by the gods, especially An, Enki, and Enlil. Because these three gods favored Iddin Dagan, he was able to have a successful ruling, filled with abundance of agriculture, a population increase, and a strong military presence. Ultimately, this shows that religion fuels power, and without a strong religious presence the ruler would not have an impactful kingship, which truly benefits the people of his realm. Isin is the last dynasty that is mentioned in the Sumerian King List. Iddin Dagan was the third king of the first dynasty of Isin. During the twentieth and nineteenth centuries, decentralizing forces were strong, which led to an increasing number of local dynasties to come to power, such as the Isin dynasty (Vdm, 90, document 5.2). The dynasty of Isin was started by Ishbi Erra, when he freed the city of Ur and brought the local dynasty to Isin. Ishbi Erra continued a lot of the same practices of the Ur III dynasty in the Isin dynasty. This document, A Praise Poem of Iddin Dagan, is considered Sumerian royal praise poetry, which often depicted and praised the various achievements, strengths and accomplishments of rulers in the ancient Near East. Royal praise poetry can be used to analyze the legitimacy of a king and how he ruled, how his people felt about him, and his relationship with the gods. • 12. The Dietary Guidelines On The Consumption Of Saturated Fats For decades, the US Dietary Guidelines on the consumption of saturated fats has been suggesting that consumers should be mindful of how dangerous they are to the human body and take active steps to reduce these fats in their diets (American Heart Association). This advice is usually presented as the claim that increased cholesterol levels and their adverse health effect can be attributed to these harmful fatty substances. However, scientific research is forcing a change of perspective on how saturated fats are viewed. Research now suggests they are not necessarily harmful to the body as is commonly perceived. For this paper examines whether or not the US Dietary Guidelines reflect the best practices in nutritional science as it relates to consuming saturated fats and the maintenance good cardiovascular health. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) published the first dietary recommendations in 1894 (Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotions U.S. Department of Agriculture) and over time the familiar artifacts that have become a part of nutritional data such as recommended daily allowances and food guides were developed (Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotions U.S. Department of Agriculture). Forensic Accounting And Fraud Examination Problem 1 12 With 20 percent of the inventory missing, along with large portions of the written and computer records, Mary Soto should hire an external forensic account. Mary should not jump to conclusions and call the police just yet, but may need to do so according to the findings of the forensic accountant. Even if thefts have occurred calling the police and alerting the employees of her suspicion will not always be in the best interest of Mary or the company. In our textbook Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination George Young asserts: It is especially important in the initial notification and evaluation stage to keep the matter as quiet and secret as is legally possible. In many cases, especially in small businesses, the owner manager s initial reaction is associated with anger and an overwhelming desire to confront the suspected employee. This temptation must be strongly resisted. Confronting the suspect too soon is one of the most damaging things that can be done in an investigation. It is much better first to secretly gather all the facts and understand the mechanics of the suspect s fraud scheme. If Mary is not careful she could create some legal missteps which could further damage her and the company. For example, Mary could be sued for defamation if it is found out that the missing records and estimated losses are due to an accounting anomaly. • 19. The Balance Of Power Theory Balance of power theory represents a body of interrelated concepts for achieving security and stability by maintaining an equal distribution of power throughout the international system. Some critics contend that the theory cannot provide guidance to states in a unipolar system since it developed out of centuries of multipolarity and decades of bipolarity. This assessment is incorrect. Although a specific conception of balance of power theory may not provide guidance, an appraisal of the concepts within its various forms suggests continuing relevance. This paper discusses balance of power theory by examining the evolution of its structural and ideational variants, and asserts that the concept remains relevant in a unipolar international system. The balance of power is a historical concept with a variety of meanings. In Thucydides account of the Melian dialogue, he indirectly refers to countries balancing in response to growing Athenian power and aggression (Thucydides, 1972). Over 1200 years later, Hobbes described balancing in reference to the ability of a confederacy of the weak to overwhelm the strong (Hobbes, 1996). Both Thucydides and Hobbes reference a type of balancing aimed at reestablishing an equilibrium of power within the international system. • 25. The, A Linguistic Anthropologist, There Are Many... As a linguistic anthropologist, there are many inferences we can make about the type of place this lost tribe lived based on a few key phrases in their language. For instance, we can infer that because they have no word for ocean, they lived in an environment that was inland. Based on the statement that the only terrain this tribe knew of was absolutely flat, rolling and slightly hilly, we can presume two conclusions: They were not aware of mountains, and they had a small radius of land in which they traveled. If one travels in any direction for a long enough time, one is bound to find either an ocean or a mountain, so the fact they did not know what either of these were insinuates that they may not have traveled very much. A reason for this could be that they wanted to preserve the climate they had. If you combine the information that says dozens of words exist for grain, including eight for wheat alone, that they had no words for beef, pork, veal, leather or mutton, and that there are several words for precipitation, most of which translate to rain, we can presume that it is likely that they may not have traveled from their home land very much, because they did not know if there would be rain in places they would travel to. Rain may have been a key element to their survival, so they did not want to leave a place that had it. Building upon the presumptions I have made, I will attempt to analyze what this lost tribes values and beliefs may have been. As I said previously, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction The purpose of this paper is to theoretically analyze a case that involves a six year old girl with behavior problems believed to result from past sexual abuse. At the completion of analysis, I will have learned the importance of knowing the whole integrated systems, how to apply dynamic systems theory concepts and ecological perspectives when assessing a case, and how to identify strengths and limitations of theories. Biopsychosocial Assessment Biological This case is about Emma. Emma was a full term baby, and because she was full term, one could assume all her major organs were fully developed. Her brain was normal for a full term baby, as well. One could speculate the reason she met all early developmental milestones was due to being full term. Looking from a neurobiological perspective, we know very little about Emma s brain; however, we do know her conduct is of concern to both her mother and pediatrician. At a crucial stage of brain development, Emma experienced sexual abuse. One could conclude that her brain was neurologically affected which has resulted in behavior problems due to the condition of her environment.
