Background:
In BHEL VPI at Bhopal and at other brine handling from the storage tank is pumped to the tankers.
These tankers goes on varying in number and the output of the pump is controlled by opening the
recirculation valve which feeds back some of the oil back to the storage tank and in this process,
power consumption remains same irrespective of the number of tankers i.e. lot of power wastes. This
process is known as recirculation method. The capacity of the motor connected with pump was 26 kw.

The Bet By Anton Chekhov
A short story s purpose is to introduce an idea or moral to the reader. In many cases the reader can
understand the thesis, but there will be times where the reader is uncertain. The reason for this is
because the short story s moral is profound ironically. Ultimately the reader is able to relate to him or
herself in the short story various ways. Likewise the use of irony in, The Bet by Anton Chekhov,
illustrates the characters and their opposing speculations that demonstrate the importance of human
life and confinement. Relating to the thesis of the short story, there are three main points that irony
plays a key role on. To begin with, there are the two main character s roles that guide the reader
though both perspectives of their conflicts. There are also main points in their dialect and involvement
that Chekhov used to help the reader understand the character s ironic speculations.
The characters from the short story, through the flashback of the banker, show his most successful
years and the young lawyer both in a dilemma. Eventually the dilemma came in conclusion to Fifteen?
Done! cried the banker. Gentlemen, I stake two millions! (Chekhov, Anton). This seems usual for a bet
with the lawyer and the banker. The average individual, when thinking of a banker, presume that they
are people that save money and not put it in risk of it all token away. Likewise in The Bet, within the
fifteen years, the banker was Desperate and started gambling on the Stock Exchange

How Does The Greater London Area Develop
The greater London area covers an area of approximately 1620 square KM. Technically speaking the
London area is divided into cities: Westminster and the city of London itself. The greater London
metropolitan area is home to approximately 12 million people. London is a highly multicultural city,
with 50 nationalities, and more than 300 languages are spoken. The site of London itself was settled
more than 2000 years ago by the Romans when they founded the city of londinium , however the
Romans left this land abandoned around 410 A.D. London is one of the world greatest centre of

The flow of capital, information, goods and services, and people are among the more readily measured
indicators of such links between large cities. Generally, there has been a net transfer of funds from the
worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. The decision makers directing these
flows are typically located in world cities, such as London, while these on whom the decision impacts
are often found in the old industrial centres of the developed world, where the cash is being redirected
form. This also has a major effect on those in the developing world, which is the areas to which capital
is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and high unemployment in the old manufacturing
centres of the developed world and factory openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the
developing world. There have been many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such
as London, one such attempt focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the
flows of information, knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global
services, these being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these
criteria London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC
and Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The global
hierarchy of cities is essentially a functional hierarchy ranging from 12 cities down to national
regional and local scales, with London generally considered at the centre of the hierarchy, being the

To ensure that exports go only to legally authorized destinations, the U.S. government requires a
destination control statement on all shipping documents. Each foreign country has its own antitrust
laws that must be complied with when exporting. They reflect the nation s commitment to an economy

Sermon On The Mount Essay
CHAPTER 1
SERMON ON THE MOUNT: GENERAL OUTLOOK
1.0 INTRODUCTION
In this chapter we are dealing with Sermon on the Mount in a general outlook. Here we will mainly
see the Sermon on the Mount in the gospel of Matthew, its connection with the Old Testament and the
New Testament setting of the Sermon on the Mount.
1.1 SERMON ON THE MOUNT IN THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW
The Sermon on the Mount is recorded in the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh chapters of the Gospel
According to St. Matthew.
1.1.1 MATTHEW THE EVANGELIST
Tradition attributes the authorship of the first Gospel to the Apostle Matthew who sat under the tax
booth and followed Jesus (9:9f; 10:3). Today few hold the view that Matthew the tax collector is the
author of the Gospel. While this Matthew may have been an original source for the Gospel, the final
form as we now have it seems to be the work of a Gentile Christian who was well versed in the
Hebrews but who made enough mistakes.
It is some time difficult to state with exactness the authorship of ancient writings. The name Matthew
means gift of the Lord. Mark and Luke, in the story of his calling, name him Levi. Perhaps this was
his original name, and he received a new name from Jesus when he became a disciple. (It has also

The gospel has traditionally and popularly been known as the Jewish gospel, sometimes over against
Luke or John as the gentile gospel. The following facts illustrate that the gospel is written for Jewish
Christians. Matthew includes sayings from Q and M that stress the continuing validity of the law (Mt
5:17 48).His readers then were probably Jewish Christians for whom the Jewish law was relevant. He
shows interest on matters that are distinctively Jewish such as Sabbath, temple etc. Mathew does not
explain Jewish customs. Luke traces Jesus ancestry back to Adam, father of human race, Matthew
back to Abraham, father of Jewish

A Report On The, And Crime, Fraud, Theft And Theft Of A...
1. Introduction Often retailers will overtly protect expensive, top shelf products, however this may
result in increased theft of less secure, bottom shelf goods. This incidence is referred to as
redistributive crime. Retailers prioritize the products they secure and those that they leave unsecured,
leading to an increase in the shrink of the items that were of less concern. In most retail companies,
there is a loss prevention (LP) department tasked with minimizing product loss, referred to as
inventory shrink. LP is implemented to reduce the preventable loss of a company s assets, like the loss
associated with redistributive crime, by utilizing technologies that mitigate theft and fraud. Retailers
continuously adapt their technologies to handle threats, but there are still numerous underlying issues,
such as employee theft, fraud, and shoplifting. Furthermore, the improved technology that consumers
have access to increases their ability to steal products like ink. This drives LP to make technological
progress to prevent further inventory shrinkage. However, there are budget constraints and efficiency
problems that arise with newer, more complex LP technology. Using a case study of the ink
department at Office Depot, this paper will evaluate redistributive crime and analyze the security
measures needed to combat such crimes. While doing this, I will pay particular attention to the
marginal benefits and marginal costs of the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems in

Examples Of Obligated In Dunstan And Percy
Obligated
This definition of obligated is to bind or oblige morally or legally . In the book Dunstan and Percy
were throwing around snowballs when suddenly Percy threw a snowball at Dunstan which contained a
rock inside of it. Dunstan quickly moved out of the way but little did they know, Mrs. Dempster was
standing right behind Dunstan. The snowball ended up hitting Mrs. Dempster in the head which then
caused her to become simple minded. Dunstan realized that Mrs. Dempster wouldn t live the same life
as she did before. He felt response for this action, like this was his fault and that the rock should have
hit him in the head instead of Mrs. Dempster. Because of his overwhelming feeling of guilt, Dunstan
took the responsibility of taking care of Mrs.Dempster and Paul. There was no one to look after Paul,
the child of Mrs. Dempster because she became simple minded and was unable to take care of him, so
that s when Dunstan took over and looked after him. Later on in the book when Mrs.Dempter moved
away and lived with Ms. Burtha who then passed away, Dunstan again took the obligation of looking
after Mrs. Dumpster until she then passed away. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

him and not Mrs. Dempster. Even after his mother banned him from visiting Mrs Dempster, he still
made it a priority to visit her in her time of need.

Symbolism In Night By Elie Wiesel

Ms. Scannell
English II
9/28/2017
Analysis of Night Elie Wiesel went through some dark times, as a result he uses symbols to describe
these trying times. A literary symbol is used to unite an image and an idea to evoke thought. In the
book Night by Elie Wiesel, night, fire, and silence are used as symbols to describe the darkness of his
history. In this article i intend to analyse how night is used to show the darkness of humanity in this
time period throughout the novel, how fire represented that they were in hell, and how silence is used
to show the loss of faith and fear. The biggest symbol used in the novel is night it s even used as the
title to hint towards the story s darkness. Wiesel uses the word night to show death, darkness, and a
world without God. Throughout the book there were many last nights ; for example, the last night in
Sighet, the last night with his father, and even the last night of innocence. The worst suffering in the
book happens at night, the train ride to the concentration camp was his last night of freedom before
they got there, the first selection was at 9 o clock, when winter came Eliezer said it was unbearable,
and they left the camp on the death march during the night. Eliezer said when they left on the death
march At six o clock the bell rang. The death knell. The funeral. The procession was

The Basics Of Running And Its Benefits
Research Paper Topic: Running
Learning about the basics of running and its benefits could positively impact your life. Running is a
fairly common task that many of us learn at a young age. We practice running after we master walking
as babies or toddlers, chase or get chased by our siblings or enjoy it on the school playground during
recess. Then we progress to P.E. class, track and field days or cross country meets. Whether running is
a sport we pursue in school or not, it can be a learned fact or hobby that anyone can perform! There
are many known benefits of running, and as stated, anyone at any age can learn and enjoy. It has been
named the world s most accessible sport. Running dates back extremely far in history as related to
hunting and other religious festivals. While it might look very different in terms of fashions, trends
and GPS watches, I believe the form of running probably hasn t changed. To begin running, you
simply need to place one foot in front of the other and go! It is encouraged to exercise proper form to
maximize your experience and to gain the full affect. You should focus on holding your head up high
and looking forward. Shoulders will be relaxed, torso stretched and tall, which will result in the hips
being in alignment. Your arms will be bent and relaxed while your ankles project you forward. There
are certain styles of foot strikes that runners make; pronated, supinated or neutral. Also known by your
gait, your foot strike may or may not be

a feminist criticism, one can observe how Gregor s dominance as a male diminishes after he becomes
a bug as his sister s strength and role in the family grows stronger. From a biographical criticism, one
can compare and contrast the traits of Gregor and the people around him with that of Kafka s own life

Grete, like her mother, obviously cares very much for Gregor and is also terrified by his new
transformation, but unlike her mother, she tries very hard to hide her fear in order to keep feeding and
tending to Gregor s room;
His sister, almost fully dressed, opened the door from the hallway side and looked in uneasily. When
she noticed him under the couch, she received such a fright that, unable to control herself, she
slammed the door again from outside. But, as if regretting her behavior, she immediately opened the
door again, (Kafka).
At the sight of Gregor, Grete succums to her fear and shuts the door after seeing him, but immediately
regrets the decision and feels guilty for seeing her brother hideous creature, if only for an instant.
Insect or not, Gregor is still Grete s brother and she believes that the right thing to do is to keep on
loving him and taking care of him, emphasizing her role as the superego.
The ego is the part of the mind that represents consciousness. It employs reason, common sense, and
the power to delay immediate responses to external stimuli (Storr). When making a decision, the ego
balances out both needs of the id and the superego. In Freud s own words, It performs that task by
gaining control over the demands of the instincts, by deciding whether they are to be allowed
satisfaction, by postponing that satisfaction or suppressing their excitations entirely, (Freud). Being a

Effects Of Stress On A Young Student s Development
It is known that students face various stress related issues, whether it is a major test, an oral
presentation, strict parents or just the stress of maintaining a good GPA. However, people may not
realize that certain stress related issues can have a huge impact on a young student s development and
even carry these issues into adulthood. College students are typically between ages 18 25, which is an
important life stage called emerging adulthood, as Jeffrey Jensen Arnett (2007) has written about
several times in his journals. Emerging adulthood is the transition from adolescence into adulthood. It
is not a quick transition, but a gradual transition from adolescence to this period of development.
During emerging adulthood, various domains ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After being exposed to video game playing or watching, the participants took a survey. It was
generally found that students play video over doing homework. Also, while lower GPA and video
games were related, mostly males showed correlation between violent video games and a lower GPA.
Also, a study by Nelson found that the transition of emerging adulthood marks significant physical
activity decline, along with high TV gaming. (Nelson 2005). During this study, seven clusters of
adolescence with various physical activity levels and sedentary behaviors were studied and given a
questionnaire. The study predicted that with the current questionnaire that was performed, that
physical activity levels in all clusters declined during young adulthood. (Nelson 2005). Students who
experience stress are not going to want to come home to study or do homework or even go out to
exercise. Looking at these studies, it is concluded that stress in students can lead to more TV, video
games and less physical activity, which is correlated with lower GPA and poor school performance.
With these sedentary behaviors habits effecting cognitive development in young adults, it is likely that
the same behaviors and stress handling may also be brought into adulthood.
Social Domain
The next domain that can be negatively influenced by stress is social development. Social

The Role Of Perceptual Dialectology
In order to take full advantage of research in the field of perceptual dialectology, it is essential to not
view it as an isolated discipline but to discuss it in the framework of linguistics and other fields it
touches upon. According to Preston, perceptual dialectolo gy is a sub category of folk linguistics,
which itself belongs to sociolinguistics. He in cludes the study of both, conscious and subconscious
responses to language variation in the term (Preston 2011: 15), and emphasizes the importance of
cognitive processes into consideration, making it synonymous with the term attitude studies ( or the
social psy chology of language ) (Preston 2013: 93). It contrasts traditional dialectology, in that it is
not primarily based on linguistic data but rather on perceived impressions (Hiraga 2005: 291). Preston

This relates to the aforementioned dialect image that respondents have in mind. Whether they do it
consciously or subconsciously, participants perceive speech that is non standard to be less prestigious
and incorrect. The judgments they make about dialect speakers is based on social stereotypes (Lam
and O Brien 2014: 152). Perceptual dialectology helps to identify these stereotypes and analyze the
rela tionships between different speech communities. Participants mirror their attitudes to wards other
communities in their attitudes towards their respective language variety. The study of peoples
responses to different dialects does not only concern different language features but also the
community itself (Evans 2013: 64). IannĂ ccaro and Dell Aquila agree that studies show perceptions on
the inside of a community, as they are always based on opinions from members of the community
living there (2001: 265). Therefore, perceptual dialectology delivers insight into social structures of

Explain Why I Want To Go To Mitty
I want to go to Mitty for many reason. Some reasons include the energetic and inclusive community,
amazing sports, and education programs. When I shadowed ar Mitty the community felt so inclusive
and alive. Everyone made me feel like I was one of the student too. I was able to shadow Mitty on the
spirit rally day, and it was amazing. I could see all of the enthusiasm and energy the student had and I
could see how much they loved Mitty. My shadow host really tried to include me in everything going

Down Syndrome
The Disorder and the Role of the CSD Professional
Down syndrome is a genetic defect attributed to an abnormality of the human chromosome 21. The
National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), a national advocate organization for the value, acceptance
and inclusion of people with Down syndrome, notes that modern research has successfully identified
three types of Down syndrome. The NDSS reports that Nondisjunction Trisomy 21, in which there are
three copies of chromosome 21 instead of two, is the most common type of Down syndrome. Prior to

Children will benefit from aggressive treatment for hearing and ear care. There are three main areas of
focus for this treatment. The first is to ensure normalized hearing through either the insertion of ear
tubes or in some cases the use of hearing aids, secondly, proactive measures should be used to limit
recurring fluid in the middle ear through the use of medication and lastly, it is important to prevent
chronic ear infections or ear disease through a regiment of adequate ear care (Stoel Gammon, 2001).
For children with hearing loss, including an approach utilizing the teaching of sign language may help
to improve language development (Venail et al., 2004). There are misperceptions that introducing sign
language to infants/very young children will slow language development; this has been found to be
untrue. Sign language will not interfere with the progress of acquiring speech and language, but rather
it may actually aid in its development. (Fowler,

Essay 3 Second Draft
A Review of Searching for Sugar Man The film Searching for Sugar Man focuses on a legend folk
music star, Sixto Rudriguez, who is more popular than Elvis in South Africa but fails to gain fame in
the United States. He knows nothing about his fame in South Africa and has no idea how he is deified
there. The whole story is told in a linear way to present a dramatic journey of finding Rudriguez. It is
not followed an old fashioned rough start road to success dream come true style (Ning). It is a display
of two parallel worlds of a legend music hermit. An artist who regards art as his ultimate faith in life
remains unmoved either by gain or loss. In describing music journey of Rudriguez, the director shoots
several full length shots of Rudriguez s wandering. The first wandering shot appears at the sixth
minute, where a lonely figure wanders passing by slums, CD shops, the sewer club and Detroit steel
factory. He was just a wandering spirit around the city ( Searching for Sugar Man ). This shot indicates
several elements of that time, including working class, minority nation, and large company. The
solitude night of Detroit and the decaying atmosphere of this city are perfectly matched, which
coordinates with Rudriguez s music as background melody. A modest man of modest means, he
quietly reflects on the success he now enjoys a continent away from his Detroit home and the hard
times in

The Total Rewards Program
Organization Overview
This paper will discuss the total rewards program. This company is a beverage and bottling company
that has been in business for over 100 years. Currently we operate in about 3 continents and in about
20 different countries all over the world. SZT Corp is the home to over 20,000 employees with about
2,000 management level employees worldwide.
Armstrong (2012) affirms that definitions of total rewards characteristically includes not only
traditional, quantifiable elements such as salary, variable pay and benefits but comprises also more
intangible non cash components such as gaining knowledge, ability to acquire and act or take
responsibility, progress in career, and the conducive environment provided by the organization. SZT
Corp requires a pretty complex and flexible total rewards program to meet the needs of their multi
national colleagues. The total rewards programs has to slightly vary for each country that SZT Corp
operates in and must cover compensation, benefits, performance and recognition, learning and
development, and a work life balance. SZT Corp has to maintain a total rewards program that remains
competitive with the competitors in the different nations all over the world.
Total Rewards Strategy
In order to meet the HR needs of this company, HR must accomplish the elements discussed in the
succeeding paragraphs that address the fundamentals of this type of total rewards system while
complying with the regulatory environments.

Literary Analysis Of Eveline
James Joyce s Eveline is a short story about a nineteen year old Eveline, who contemplates
abandoning a life she is accustomed to and moving to a distant land with a man she hardly knows. In
one hand she holds the weight of uncertain happiness, in the other, inevitable misery. Eveline needs to
make a choice between two contrasting lives; one in which she is a servant to her father, in other, a
respected wife. Following her mother s death, Eveline assumes the role of a parent and inherits all the
chores accompanying it. She works hard at home and the Stores (Joyce 74), but for all her troubles,
Eveline gets little respect in return. Now with one brother dead and other away on business, she is left

Being at the bottom of the hierarchy, Eveline s only means of escape is a man who will take her hand
in marriage.
Eveline s father is the second most important character in the story, yet Joyce chooses not to reveal his
name. That is because he is only a father in a biological sense, falling short at every other fatherly
duty. Mr.Hill is a failed provider who takes his offspring s earnings only to hand it back, allowing him
to feel like a man of the house . He is abusive and flaunts his dominance by threaten[ing] (Joyce 73)
Eveline well into her adulthood. The threats seem unprovoked and random, indicating father s
attempts to instill fear rather than curb or abolish an offending behavior. Compensating for his
failures, the father uses aggression and control to get what he wants. Her father was becoming old
lately, she noticed; he would miss her (Joyce 75), the narrator draws our attention to the aging of the
father and impending helplessness following it. Though Joyce does not clarify how the father will
miss Eveline, judging by his past conducts, it is safe to assume that he would miss Eveline s help
around the house and money the most. Still, as she contemplates leaving, Eveline sees good in him
and tries to balance her father s increasing capacity for violence by remembering three random acts of
kindness (Trudell) that seemingly undue all the wrong he has done in the past. No matter

Microeconomics is defined as: The study of the operations of the components of a national economy,
such as individual firms, households, and consumers (www.answers .com accessed 02Oct07). This is a
study of the relationship between the consumer and the supplier based on various fluxuations in the
market.
The Law of supply is defined as: A microeconomic law stating that, all other factors being equal, as
the price of a good or service increases, the quantity of goods or services offered by suppliers
increases and vice versa (www.answers .com accessed 02Oct07).
The law of demand is described as: A microeconomic law that states that, all other factors being equal,
as the price of a good or service increases, consumer demand for the good or service will decrease and
vice versa (www.answers .com accessed 02Oct07).
Supply and Demand: The market process is generally modeled using the economic concepts of supply
and demand. The plans/desires of consumers are embedded in the concept of demand and the
plans/desires of producers in the concept of supply. The plans of these two types of economic actors
are brought together in markets, which are the entities in which transactions occur. In a modern
economy, markets do not require that the buyers and sellers meet in a geographic place, so markets no

I cannot help laughing at the absurdity of all the map makers...who show Ocean running like a river

north of them are the Medes, then the Saspires, then the Cholchians, who go as far as the northern sea,
where the mouth of the Phasis is. These four nations fill the area between the Black sea and the
Persian Gulf. Thence run westward two great continental promontories, one of which stretches from
the Phasis on the north along the Black Sea and the Hellespont to the Mediterranean at the Sigeum in
the Troad, and again, in the south, along the Mediterranean coast from the Myriandic gulf, near
Phoenicia, to Cape Triopium...Such is Asia from Persia westward; eastward, beyond Media and the

The key tools to maintaining your identity There are many tools that one can use to maintain their
identity, nationally and internationally. A nation or land is where people have established their life,
their culture and their heart; sadly it has happened where people have been forced out of their
homeland. Great opening sentences. Mary Louise Pratt, Kenji Yoshino and Edward Said all present
very good methods of maintaining one s national identity in their essays. In Mary Louise Pratt s essay

If Pratt had a say in what was happening to the Palestine s in Edward Said s essay, I believe Pratt

t quite fit, I would start the quote here, and set it up by saying that Pratt uses the concept of safe
houses as social and intellectual spaces where groups can constitute themselves as horizontal,
homogeneous, sovereign communities with high degrees of trust, shared understandings, temporary
protection from legacies of oppression . (Pratt) A safe house is somewhere you (avoid you)can go to

is the combining of two cultures or traits from two different cultures. This can help in maintaining
national identity by having the cultures meet half way, instead of conforming and letting your identity
slip away from you. Here, pull an example of transculturation from Said s text. For instance, the use of
the Mercedes. Even though Said describes it in negative terms, the use of the Mercedes has come in
handy for Palestinians. This is just a suggestion, you may find another example.

This illusory extends to Willy s sons Biff and Happy Lowman. Willy also creates the illusion that his

unsuccessful. For instance, Biff fails to get a loan. This delusion largely rubbed off on both of his

functionary in the company. However, the reality was that Happy was the assistant to somebody else s

the end, Biff realizes his folly and becomes mindful of the reality of their lack of success and that their

illusion versus reality is also apparent in Willy s marriage. Without doubt, it is portrayed in the play
that Willy is unfaithful to his wife, and even Biff ends up stumbling on him while cheating. However,
Willy maintains the appearance that he is constantly being honest and faithful in his marriage. His
wife, Linda does not know the reality of their marriage. In the culmination of the play, they realize the
facts over the make believe illusion under which the family was living and accept the truth. The
Lowman family finally accepts that they are not successful, nor of great importance to the companies
as they deem themselves to be. However, Willy refuses to accept this reality and completely reluctant
to give up his dream, which in the end destroys him (Miller, 2001).
The lack of discernment between reality and illusion has a significant impact on the Lowman family.
They end up deceiving not only others but also, most unfortunately, deceiving themselves. These
illusions take control of their lives, and it is only at the end, that they finally see the reality of their
circumstances. However, Willy

Analyzing The Bonds Of Friendship Within Of Mice And Men
Analyzing the Bonds of Friendship Within Of Mice and Men Of mice and men by John Steinbeck
narrates a story of two friends, George and Lennie, and their lives together as farm workers in
California in the 1930s. Steinbeck chose the setting to empathize the effects a simple friendship can
have on someone living during that time period. In the 30s, in California, jobs were hard to get and
most jobs for unlettered men like George and Lennie, was farm work. Because income was scarce,
farm workers rarely had companions. When someone is both working and living with little to no
human interaction, they begin to feel lonely which grows into hatred for themselves and others.
Steinbeck uses the setting to distinctly show readers what friendships ... Show more content on

It reveals to readers one of the many ties of George and Lennie s friendship, this example being trust.
George asks for the mouse, give it here! (Steinbeck 6), and Lennie s hand slowly obeyed (6). Giving
George the mouse presents to readers the amount of faith Lennie has in George, because even after
George rudely asks for the mouse Lennie still hands George the mouse. The faith Lennie has for
George is what causes him to give up his dead mouse since he knows that George wouldn t purposely
do something to deject him but that George may be protecting him from the unknown. The trust in
their relationship allows George and Lennie to confide in each other about what no one else knows of
them and to act like their true selves around each other. In the story readers see that most farm workers
don t befriend others easily because they don t have the trust that George and Lennie have for one
another. Throughout the story, Steinbeck continues demonstrating the trust between the two friends,
showing readers how trust can strengthen an already sturdy friendship. Referencing to the same quote,
readers not only see the trust Lennie has for George, but also the care George has for Lennie. As
previously stated, George takes on the role of protecting Lennie as a parent would a child, which also
impacts the care George has for Lennie. Any other person who knew that Lennie was keeping and

Kapur has big dreams for the future of Maiden Home. We want to extend our mission of top design
and quality at an accessible price to every category in the home. (Kapur para 22). Many of her
customers purchase pieces from across brands because they want a consistent look and quality, when

The Sampling Interval For The Current Clamps
The sampling interval for the current clamps can be changed depending on what we want to know. For
the air compressor we may log more frequently, for example every five seconds, if we find that the

enough. The purpose of the continuous measurement will also affect the logging interval. If the first

The Relationship between Doctor and Patient Should be...
Majoring in medicine is one of the most intellectually challenging things that I ve ever been a part of.
When faced with task to do a research paper depicting a problem in your major, well because the
medical field is so broad so I found a topic that is almost never talked about. Love and Medicine , I
chose this topic because it deals with physicians being more than friendly with their patients as
unethical as this may seem it happens almost. The relationship between a patient and a doctor should
be extremely platonic; doctors should always know his or her boundaries, display a level of

their boundaries when it comes to patients. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether it is in the office or on social networks a physician is always held up to a higher standard just
because of who they are. Dr. Jain of NEJM writes that, In confirming this patient as my friend on
Facebook, I was merging my professional and personal lives. From my Facebook page, Ms. Baxter
could identify and reach anyone in my network of friends, view an extensive collection of personal
photographs, read my personal blog, and review notations that others had left on my wall. The anxiety
I felt about crossing boundaries is an old problem in clinical medicine, but it has taken a different
shape as it has migrated to this new medium. Once a physician has crossed that line of professionalism
has been crossed and a patient decides to report their physician could risk losing just about everything.
Such as damage to his or her practice, loss of public trust, and often loss of hospital and health care

In the field of Medicine it is expected of physicians to always show a certain level of humility on the

Sociological Conflict Theory
Divorce rates are growing higher and higher every year. I will compare the sociological conflict theory
and symbolic interaction theory on the social issue of rising divorce rates. I will show how symbolic
interaction can contribute to divorce because people will lack the direct response to the actions of
other people. I will also show how the conflict theory interprets the high tensions in a marriage a result
from the sociological and economic pressures we face in life.
Although divorce was looked down in the past it is becoming a part of modern life. In the 1950′s the
divorce rate in the United States was around fourteen percent. The divorce rate in the U.S. has slowly
risen to the point that many researchers now claim the overall rate of divorces has reached fifty
percent. ( The Rising Rate of Divorce , 2016). Now that divorce is so common many people have
different outlooks on it. Some say divorce is abandoning adult responsibility and others think it s a
way to free themselves from a miserable and unfulfilling life.

was the conflict theory. The conflict theory is from the macrosociological level and examines larger
patterns of society. This theory examines the struggle for resources. The conflict theory interprets the

Discuss The Relationship Between Attitudes And Behaviour
The relationship between attitudes and behaviour is one of the most popular topics in social
psychology. We form attitudes from mainly our own personal experiences including influences from
other people. Fishbein and Ajzen (1975) agreed with the idea about how direct experience, form our
attitudes i.e. if you had a horrible time at the hospital getting a needle. Then you may develop a
negative attitude to all hospitals. Alhough the definition of attitudes can not be confirmed yet, this
essay uses the description in Hogg s and Vaughan s book (1995) that attitudes are a general feeling or
evaluation about persons, object or issue as well as a relatively enduring organization of beliefs,
feelings and behavioural tendencies towards socially significant objects, groups, evens or symbols .
This definition indicates that there is a close relationship between attitudes and behaviour.

People who have the disorder have their glucose levels lower known as hypoglycemia. Studies
revealed that this is caused by mutations in the gene for SGLT 2 which gave an opinion that SGLT 2
could be turned off, decreasing blood sugars without causing hypoglycemia. This made it to be a good
target for SGLT 2 inhibitors. This symporter mainly targets the kidneys, reducing the blood glucose by
eliminating excess sugar through urine. Mechanism of Action Sodium glucose co transporter 2
(SGLT2), present in the proximal renal tubules, is important for the reabsorption of filtered glucose
from the tubular lumen. Canagliflozin acts by inhibiting SGLT2 co transporter. It diminishes

Pilgrimage to the Prophet Muhammad’s Grave Essay
The Prophet Muhammad died in 632 CE. He was believed to be the Seal of the Prophets, meaning the
last prophet; therefore his grave is a very sacred place (A Concise Introduction to World religions, 210
215). Visiting the Prophet s grave is a controversial issue. Scholars have different perspectives on
traveling to his grave, each based on the Islamic Law, shari ah. Al Nawawi and Bin Baz each have
differing yet similar rulings on the proper way of Pilgrimaging to the Prophets place of burial. Abd al
Aziz Bin Baz has a very specific set of circumstances on visiting the Prophet Muhammad s grave. He
suggests that someone may not visit Medina with the sole purpose of seeing his grave. Bin Baz
explicitly states: It is not permissible to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
6). The two scholars have several differences between their ideas on visiting the grave of the Prophet.
Bin Baz suggest that one should visit the grave before or after Hajj. He also forbids women from
travelling to the grave of the Prophet. Bin Baz justifies this by stating that Muhammad has cursed
women who go to graves (Fatawa of Shaykh Abdulaziz b. Baz Volume 16). Al Nawawi recommends
visiting it only as one is leaving Mecca, after Hajj. He also has a more strict policy on visiting the
graves. Al Nawawi suggests that the visitor must perform ghusl before arriving in Medina, in which a
ritual washing takes place. After they have completed this then they must put on their cleanest clothes
(The Explication of the Rites of Hajj Ch. 6). Bin Baz and al Nawawi each have specific rituals that
must take place once at the grave itself. Both scholars say that one should enter with their right foot, as
they should in any other Mosque. Both of them suggest praying in the rawda, or garden, upon entering
the mosque. After the prayer both scholars inform the visitors to approach the Prophet s grave, then
the scholars have different steps.
Al Nawawi has a list of greetings that should be recited in front of his grave. The list is 31 lines long,
but if needed be he states they may be shortened into one line of: Peace be upon you O Messenger of
God . And thereafter they may convey salams (when someone wishes peace to another

Igor Stravinsky Rhetorical Analysis
In his derogatory passage, Igor Stravinsky discusses the common views and reputation of orchestra
conductors; he argues that conductors are not musical gods but rather destroyers of musical
compositions and the glory that they are meant to receive. Because Stravinsky is a composer himself,
he has firsthand experience with the relationship between composer and conductor and has dealt with
conductors that have conducted his compositions. Stravinsky s purpose in writing this passage is to
convince the reader of the false perspective they possess of conductors. He wants to correct these
pretenses and expose the façade of conducting in order for the reader to disassociate the conductor
with being the star of the performance and help them focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net
...
In doing so, he encourages the reader to use the context of the paragraph to look into its meaning. His
placement of quotes around great clearly conveys his sarcastic tone because he is not in fact praising
the conductors in accordance to the like of actors, but, instead poking fun at them. The conductors do
not actually understand the meaning of the music and must therefore adapt the music to themselves
rather than themselves to the music; they are only standing in the way of genuine music making.
Stravinsky also uses sarcasm in the last sentence to further his point by saying that If you are unable to
listen to the music, you watch the corybantics, and if you are able, you had better not go to the
concert. The conductor should not be the star of the performance and, in showing the audience what
they should be feeling, the conductor minimizes the brilliance of the composition. Furthermore, his
bold statements regarding conductors emphasize his dislike for them because he is figuratively
attacking the profession, going beyond just harsh criticism. In using such bold diction, Stravinsky also
manages to convey a sense of informality, creating the illusion that he is simply conversing with his
audience. This in turn helps Stravinsky break down the wall between author and reader by allowing
the reader to relate more to the ideas being

Effects of a Role Playing Game on the Anxiety and...
The main focus of the present study will be to observe the effects of a role playing game on the
anxiety and confidence levels among college sophomores enrolled in the CUNY institutional system.
Specifically, this study will observe the effect of World of Warcraft on students perceived levels of
anxiety and confidence. 200 CUNY sophomores enrolled in a Calculus II course will be measured by
the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale 7 at weeks 1, 7, and 13 and by the Self Confidence Inventory
at weeks 2, 8, and 14. Students randomly assigned to the experimental condition will complete two
forty five minute World of Warcraft sessions for a total of ninety minutes a week for a period of fifteen
weeks. It is predicted that students in the experimental condition will have a significant decrease in
their scores on the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale 7 and an increase in their scores on the Self
Confidence Inventory at the end of the study. Also of interest in the present study is the academic
achievement among both the control and experimental participants. Participants GPA will be recorded
from their Calculus I course and will again be recorded at the end of the semester in their Calculus II
course.

Persuasive Essay Cloning
In a Time poll, only 7% of readers said they would be interested in cloning themselves if they had the
chance (Rothman). Cloning in some ways could be advantageous, but severities can occur such as:
long term health defects, women who are more likely to encounter miscarriages, Abnormal Gene
Expression, heart complications, respiratory difficulty, aging deficiency and much more. Although
cloning has significant health risks, it should be legalized because of the possibility to restore
endangered species, the medical benefits, and the potential to resurrect the dead.
Point#1
Medical Benefits have made a purposeful movement through cloning. The discovery of stem cells

Rather than using sperm to fertilize an egg, genetic material from a donor s cell is used. While there
are various forms of cloning, the term most commonly refers to the somatic cell nuclear transfer
method (Pearson ). Cloning is a very prestigious procedure and it must be done correctly or risks can
start taking action. Some people know cloning can help produce body cells and bring back well known
species, but never did resurrecting the dead be one of them.
Therapeutic cloning seeks to reproduce cells and could some day be used to grow organs or even
possibly replacement limbs (Pearson). Different stories have appeared about deceased being able to
have a second life through other living cells. Stories about cloning John Lennon s DNA is truly
satisfying: A Canadian dentist Dr. Michael Zuk was granted the right to genetically modify and raise
the official John Lennon s molars as baby clones. Zuk was able to purchase Lennon s molars for
$33,000 at an auction. More updates about Zuk s success are still to be determined (Bleier). The
process of cloning humans specifically deceased takes a lot more time and effort to get the
calculations success rate correct. Human cloning seeks to reproduce people, and is a much more
complex process (Mason). Though, cloning the deceased has not come back positive, scientist and
researchers are still trying to find a way for

  • 6. The Bet By Anton Chekhov A short story s purpose is to introduce an idea or moral to the reader. In many cases the reader can understand the thesis, but there will be times where the reader is uncertain. The reason for this is because the short story s moral is profound ironically. Ultimately the reader is able to relate to him or herself in the short story various ways. Likewise the use of irony in, The Bet by Anton Chekhov, illustrates the characters and their opposing speculations that demonstrate the importance of human life and confinement. Relating to the thesis of the short story, there are three main points that irony plays a key role on. To begin with, there are the two main character s roles that guide the reader though both perspectives of their conflicts. There are also main points in their dialect and involvement that Chekhov used to help the reader understand the character s ironic speculations. The characters from the short story, through the flashback of the banker, show his most successful years and the young lawyer both in a dilemma. Eventually the dilemma came in conclusion to Fifteen? Done! cried the banker. Gentlemen, I stake two millions! (Chekhov, Anton). This seems usual for a bet with the lawyer and the banker. The flow of capital, information, goods and services, and people are among the more readily measured indicators of such links between large cities. Generally, there has been a net transfer of funds from the worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. The decision makers directing these flows are typically located in world cities, such as London, while these on whom the decision impacts are often found in the old industrial centres of the developed world, where the cash is being redirected form. This also has a major effect on those in the developing world, which is the areas to which capital is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and high unemployment in the old manufacturing centres of the developed world and factory openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the developing world. There have been many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such as London, one such attempt focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the flows of information, knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global services, these being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these criteria London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC and Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The global hierarchy of cities is essentially a functional hierarchy ranging from 12 cities down to national regional and local scales, with London generally considered at the centre of the hierarchy, being the largest contributor to the global ... Here we will mainly see the Sermon on the Mount in the gospel of Matthew, its connection with the Old Testament and the New Testament setting of the Sermon on the Mount. 1.1 SERMON ON THE MOUNT IN THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW The Sermon on the Mount is recorded in the fifth, the sixth, and the seventh chapters of the Gospel According to St. Matthew. 1.1.1 MATTHEW THE EVANGELIST Tradition attributes the authorship of the first Gospel to the Apostle Matthew who sat under the tax booth and followed Jesus (9:9f; 10:3). Today few hold the view that Matthew the tax collector is the author of the Gospel. While this Matthew may have been an original source for the Gospel, the final form as we now have it seems to be the work of a Gentile Christian who was well versed in the Hebrews but who made enough mistakes. It is some time difficult to state with exactness the authorship of ancient writings. The name Matthew means gift of the Lord. Mark and Luke, in the story of his calling, name him Levi. Perhaps this was his original name, and he received a new name from Jesus when he became a disciple. (It has also been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 10. A Report On The, And Crime, Fraud, Theft And Theft Of A... 1. Introduction Often retailers will overtly protect expensive, top shelf products, however this may result in increased theft of less secure, bottom shelf goods. This incidence is referred to as redistributive crime. Retailers prioritize the products they secure and those that they leave unsecured, leading to an increase in the shrink of the items that were of less concern. In most retail companies, there is a loss prevention (LP) department tasked with minimizing product loss, referred to as inventory shrink. LP is implemented to reduce the preventable loss of a company s assets, like the loss associated with redistributive crime, by utilizing technologies that mitigate theft and fraud. Retailers continuously adapt their technologies to handle threats, but there are still numerous underlying issues, such as employee theft, fraud, and shoplifting. Furthermore, the improved technology that consumers have access to increases their ability to steal products like ink. This drives LP to make technological progress to prevent further inventory shrinkage. However, there are budget constraints and efficiency problems that arise with newer, more complex LP technology. Using a case study of the ink department at Office Depot, this paper will evaluate redistributive crime and analyze the security measures needed to combat such crimes. While doing this, I will pay particular attention to the marginal benefits and marginal costs of the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ms. Scannell English II 9/28/2017 Analysis of Night Elie Wiesel went through some dark times, as a result he uses symbols to describe these trying times. A literary symbol is used to unite an image and an idea to evoke thought. In the book Night by Elie Wiesel, night, fire, and silence are used as symbols to describe the darkness of his history. In this article i intend to analyse how night is used to show the darkness of humanity in this time period throughout the novel, how fire represented that they were in hell, and how silence is used to show the loss of faith and fear. The biggest symbol used in the novel is night it s even used as the title to hint towards the story s darkness. Wiesel uses the word night to show death, darkness, and a world without God. Throughout the book there were many last nights ; for example, the last night in Sighet, the last night with his father, and even the last night of innocence. The worst suffering in the book happens at night, the train ride to the concentration camp was his last night of freedom before they got there, the first selection was at 9 o clock, when winter came Eliezer said it was unbearable, and they left the camp on the death march during the night. When she noticed him under the couch, she received such a fright that, unable to control herself, she slammed the door again from outside. College students are typically between ages 18 25, which is an important life stage called emerging adulthood, as Jeffrey Jensen Arnett (2007) has written about several times in his journals. During this study, seven clusters of adolescence with various physical activity levels and sedentary behaviors were studied and given a questionnaire. The study predicted that with the current questionnaire that was performed, that physical activity levels in all clusters declined during young adulthood. (Nelson 2005). Students who experience stress are not going to want to come home to study or do homework or even go out to exercise. Looking at these studies, it is concluded that stress in students can lead to more TV, video games and less physical activity, which is correlated with lower GPA and poor school performance. With these sedentary behaviors habits effecting cognitive development in young adults, it is likely that the same behaviors and stress handling may also be brought into adulthood. The Role Of Perceptual Dialectology In order to take full advantage of research in the field of perceptual dialectology, it is essential to not view it as an isolated discipline but to discuss it in the framework of linguistics and other fields it touches upon. According to Preston, perceptual dialectolo gy is a sub category of folk linguistics, which itself belongs to sociolinguistics. He in cludes the study of both, conscious and subconscious responses to language variation in the term (Preston 2011: 15), and emphasizes the importance of cognitive processes into consideration, making it synonymous with the term attitude studies ( or the social psy chology of language ) (Preston 2013: 93). Perceptual dialectology helps to identify these stereotypes and analyze the rela tionships between different speech communities. He knows nothing about his fame in South Africa and has no idea how he is deified there. The whole story is told in a linear way to present a dramatic journey of finding Rudriguez. It is not followed an old fashioned rough start road to success dream come true style (Ning). It is a display of two parallel worlds of a legend music hermit. An artist who regards art as his ultimate faith in life remains unmoved either by gain or loss. In describing music journey of Rudriguez, the director shoots several full length shots of Rudriguez s wandering. The first wandering shot appears at the sixth minute, where a lonely figure wanders passing by slums, CD shops, the sewer club and Detroit steel factory. He was just a wandering spirit around the city ( Searching for Sugar Man ). This shot indicates several elements of that time, including working class, minority nation, and large company. Analyzing The Bonds Of Friendship Within Of Mice And Men Analyzing the Bonds of Friendship Within Of Mice and Men Of mice and men by John Steinbeck narrates a story of two friends, George and Lennie, and their lives together as farm workers in California in the 1930s. The purpose of the continuous measurement will also affect the logging interval. The drawing of the electric (Table 3. Example of plan for energy measurements to allocate electricity use to unit processes.) In this case we will have a measurement from a switchgear cabinet that covers several unit processes, for example lighting and forklift charging for a garage and picking stock, as shown in Figure 8. The data from clamp no. 1 in the switchgear must be complemented by simulta‐ neous measurements from clamps 2 and 3 in the distribution board, where clamp 2 measures the total incoming current to the Central Garage board and clamp 3 measures the outgoing current to the forklift chargers. Later, the data from clamp 2 in the Central Garage distribution board can be subtracted from clamp 1 in the switchgear to get a picture of the energy use in Central Picking Stock and Central Large Hall. At the same time you have parallel measurements of the air compressor from clamp no 4. The clamp ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When faced with task to do a research paper depicting a problem in your major, well because the medical field is so broad so I found a topic that is almost never talked about. Love and Medicine , I chose this topic because it deals with physicians being more than friendly with their patients as unethical as this may seem it happens almost. The relationship between a patient and a doctor should be extremely platonic; doctors should always know his or her boundaries, display a level of professionalism, and show as much humility in their job as possible. Whether it is in the office or on social networks a physician is always held up to a higher standard just because of who they are. Dr. Jain of NEJM writes that, In confirming this patient as my friend on Facebook, I was merging my professional and personal lives. From my Facebook page, Ms. Baxter could identify and reach anyone in my network of friends, view an extensive collection of personal photographs, read my personal blog, and review notations that others had left on my wall. The anxiety I felt about crossing boundaries is an old problem in clinical medicine, but it has taken a different shape as it has migrated to this new medium. Once a physician has crossed that line of professionalism has been crossed and a patient decides to report their physician could risk losing just about everything. Such as damage to his or her practice, loss of public trust, and often loss of hospital and health care payment plan affiliations. In the field of Medicine it is expected of physicians to always show a certain level of humility on the job. It is under no circumstances may a physician place his or her own financial interests above the welfare of his or her patients. Taking advantage of information gained by means of patient physician relationship for personal gain. • 40. Sociological Conflict Theory Divorce rates are growing higher and higher every year. I will compare the sociological conflict theory and symbolic interaction theory on the social issue of rising divorce rates. I will show how symbolic interaction can contribute to divorce because people will lack the direct response to the actions of other people. I will also show how the conflict theory interprets the high tensions in a marriage a result from the sociological and economic pressures we face in life. Although divorce was looked down in the past it is becoming a part of modern life. In the 1950′s the divorce rate in the United States was around fourteen percent. The divorce rate in the U.S. has slowly risen to the point that many researchers now claim the overall rate of divorces has reached fifty percent. ( The Rising Rate of Divorce , 2016). Now that divorce is so common many people have different outlooks on it. Some say divorce is abandoning adult responsibility and others think it s a way to free themselves from a miserable and unfulfilling life. Symbolic interactionism a theoretical perspective in ... Then you may develop a negative attitude to all hospitals. Alhough the definition of attitudes can not be confirmed yet, this essay uses the description in Hogg s and Vaughan s book (1995) that attitudes are a general feeling or evaluation about persons, object or issue as well as a relatively enduring organization of beliefs, feelings and behavioural tendencies towards socially significant objects, groups, evens or symbols . The two scholars have several differences between their ideas on visiting the grave of the Prophet. Bin Baz suggest that one should visit the grave before or after Hajj. He also forbids women from travelling to the grave of the Prophet. Bin Baz justifies this by stating that Muhammad has cursed women who go to graves (Fatawa of Shaykh Abdulaziz b. Baz Volume 16). Al Nawawi recommends visiting it only as one is leaving Mecca, after Hajj. He also has a more strict policy on visiting the graves. Al Nawawi suggests that the visitor must perform ghusl before arriving in Medina, in which a ritual washing takes place. After they have completed this then they must put on their cleanest clothes (The Explication of the Rites of Hajj Ch. 6). Bin Baz and al Nawawi each have specific rituals that must take place once at the grave itself. Both scholars say that one should enter with their right foot, as they should in any other Mosque. Both of them suggest praying in the rawda, or garden, upon entering the mosque. After the prayer both scholars inform the visitors to approach the Prophet s grave, then the scholars have different steps. • 47. Igor Stravinsky Rhetorical Analysis In his derogatory passage, Igor Stravinsky discusses the common views and reputation of orchestra conductors; he argues that conductors are not musical gods but rather destroyers of musical compositions and the glory that they are meant to receive. Because Stravinsky is a composer himself, he has firsthand experience with the relationship between composer and conductor and has dealt with conductors that have conducted his compositions. Stravinsky s purpose in writing this passage is to convince the reader of the false perspective they possess of conductors. He wants to correct these pretenses and expose the façade of conducting in order for the reader to disassociate the conductor with being the star of the performance and help them focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In doing so, he encourages the reader to use the context of the paragraph to look into its meaning. His placement of quotes around great clearly conveys his sarcastic tone because he is not in fact praising the conductors in accordance to the like of actors, but, instead poking fun at them. The conductors do not actually understand the meaning of the music and must therefore adapt the music to themselves rather than themselves to the music; they are only standing in the way of genuine music making. Stravinsky also uses sarcasm in the last sentence to further his point by saying that If you are unable to listen to the music, you watch the corybantics, and if you are able, you had better not go to the concert. The conductor should not be the star of the performance and, in showing the audience what they should be feeling, the conductor minimizes the brilliance of the composition. Furthermore, his bold statements regarding conductors emphasize his dislike for them because he is figuratively attacking the profession, going beyond just harsh criticism. In using such bold diction, Stravinsky also manages to convey a sense of informality, creating the illusion that he is simply conversing with his audience. This in turn helps Stravinsky break down the wall between author and reader by allowing the reader to relate more to the ideas being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
