Fungimental Income Statement
inancial Analysis
Income and Expense Analysis
The profit and loss are able to reflect the financial performance of an enterprise. It is undeniable
that the accrual figures are essential for firms to analyse the financial situations, however, our
income statement is prepared on the cash basis and a number of assumptions are made because
Fungimental is a star up enterprise and it is at the start stage. The forecast of budgeted income
statement for Fungimental in 2016 2017 indicates that the company could maintain sustainable
during the period and it is able to gain the positive net income of $259,105.00 at the end of April
01 2017. Nevertheless, on the basis of Fungimental (2016), a star up capital of $75,000.00 is
required to ensure the process.
Funding plan and use of funds
As mentioned above, the number of funds should be $75,000 at the beginning, and numbers of
funding methods could be utilised to obtain the funds, including funding from governments, crowd

The Sustainable Sydney 2030 initiative provides potential opportunities for Fungimental to obtain
the financial supports from the Australian government because Fungimental is able to ensure that
Sydney may develop in the sustainable and innovative way (City of Sydney, 2013). The
mushroom industry is worth $220 million, which is perceived as one of the most significant
sectors of the horticulture industry (worth $9 billion dollars) (Factiva 2015). Additionally, the
horticulture industry has made more than $100 million investment for R D each year in the past
decade (HAL 2014). In that case, 50% 60% funds might be raised by governments, which is
$37500 $45000, and Fungimental is likely to gain funds which are utilised to support sustainable
innovations and improve the image of Sydney. Furthermore, the funds could increase the possibility

Scrutinize Zeno s Dichotomy Paradox
Zeno of Elea is most well known for his series of about 40 different paradoxes of plurality
designed to show that believing in many things rather than just one can only lead to illogical
conclusions. One of the topics he emphasizes on is motion, more specifically with these
paradoxes he attempts to establish that motion is impossible. Here he describes three different
paradoxes one of which is the Dichotomy paradox. The purpose of this essay is to scrutinize
Zeno s Dichotomy paradox and to see if it properly defends itself against some of the main
challenges that have been raised against it, which I believe Zeno has managed to do. I will
reevaluate Zeno s paradox in comparison to see how well it defends against criticism. Although
some arguments... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mathematics has greatly advanced since the time of Zeno and Aristotle and this has brought to light
another way to counter Zeno s paradoxes. With the creation of calculus, Zeno s paradox has been
more or less resolved. The calculus solution to this paradox considers the infinite sequence of ВЅ,
Вј, 1/8, ..., 1/2^n, which is an infinite geometric sequence. Geometric sequences have a formula of
∑_(n=1)^в€
ћв–’гЂ–(гЂ– 1/2гЂ—^i )гЂ—=1 were the number of half steps are balanced out by
the increasingly short amount of time needed to journey through all those distances. However,
this is a convergence of an infinite series, which means that the sum of this can be approximated
very closely to one if you add up enough terms. This mathematical explanation seemed to suffice
for a lot of people, since the sum of all of those terms can be approximated closely enough to a
doable number to justify motion being an actual thing. However, if we take a closer look at Zeno s
paradox, the problem was not that the runner wouldn t get close to the final point, point B. The
problem was that the runner would never actually manage to reach that final point because no
matter how small the distance between the runner and the final point, the distance can still be
divisible by half and therefore there would never be a final point were the runner would
confidentially reach point B. Because the calculus equation can only approximate very closely to
the final point, but never the actual point, this solution is still not the correct

Government Corruption In Mexico City
The Olympic games are a two weeklong tournament where the best athletes compete with solidarity
and fair play to develop humanism and respect among every nation. Host candidates are chosen by
the IOC (International Olympic Committee) according to specific demands and requirements.
Nevertheless, chosen cities are meant to promise their entire commitment and effort for investing
in infrastructure, public security, public health and tourism. Despite this optimism, the prevailing
concern is that the costs will increase for those living in the host nation, while the mayor benefits
will be for the IOC and all the multinational partners involved. For example, while Brazil spends
billions of dollars, the IOC is expected to earn billions too through sponsorship deals, owning TV
rights and many other income fees. While new stadiums and new luxury hotels are built, citizens
living in the favelas will be forced to leave their homes just for the government to exhibit the
perfect image of a role model host. Of course everyone knows what the people are protesting about:

any type of corruption during the construction. Also, those said facilities should be built on cities

the Olympiads, the government promised that the facilities were investments meant for the
citizens to give them the opportunity to practice sports with the best resources. Nowadays,
Mexico City keeps upgrading and renovating the Olympiad facilities, which should be done by
every nation who will be or has been host. Peru will take this as an example of what should be

Investigating Ethical Qualms Of The Modern Toilet
Investigating Ethical Qualms of the Modern Toilet
Nina Levison
Initial interest and topic expansion
This paper started as a way to talk about my ethical qualms with the toilet and see if there was a
scientific basis to back them up. More than a history or philosophy of how the modern toilet came
to be, I wanted to see if there is scientific evidence to back up my idea of toilets and the modern
sewage treatment systems as wasteful. In order to understand the wastefulness, or efficiency, of the
toilet however, I had to answer the question, what happens when we flush? This may not be the
most interesting or sexiest information about waste, but it is an important look into a part of the
waste stream we contribute to daily, in fact, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modern sewage formed in response to the 1858 Great Stink of London. The Great Stink was a
product of many factors. The introduction of flush toilets replacing previously popular chamber
pots increased water and waste volume into cesspits. Additionally, these cesspits, once only used for
excess rainwater collection, began to carry waste from slaughterhouses and factories, contaminating
the city before its ultimate departure into the River Thames, which began to overflow with sewage
along with its tributaries. All of this combined with an unusually hot summer encouraged bacterial
growth, a rancid odor, and contributed to a cholera outbreak. In response, London built thousands
of miles of underground pipe and created the modern sewage treatment system [3][4].
Two categories of sewage treatment
Sewage treatment can be broken into two categories storm sewers and sanitary sewers [5].
1.Storm sewers
Storm sewers drain excess rain and groundwater from manmade infrastructure like roads and
parking lots. Sometimes the water may be processed to remove stuff like car oil, but for the most
part, they get less treatment than sanitary sewers or sometimes none at all[5].
2.Sanitary sewers
Sanitary sewers are processed to clean up human waste. Although there are many methods of
dealing with human waste, the generally accepted method in North America consists of a three
stage sewage treatment system. In this essay I will

The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function
Introduction:
Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power output in
relation to the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in Gaesser and Brooks, 1975).
Efficiency during exercise varies due to several biomechanical and physiological factors namely,
contraction velocity and the force produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that
exercise efficiency ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used
in clinical and recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010). Measuring exercise
efficiency allows researchers to examine which modalities of exercise are most efficient, enabling
athletes and individuals in rehabilitation to choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs.
During rehabilitation or training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of
outcome; thus, doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise
will better yield results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield, Sherman and
Michael, 2003).
Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor professionals aiming
to augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training regimens should consider the latter
(Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes target variable body segments,
some being full body and others targeting only the lower or upper body. Due to differing numbers of

Case Study Approach
4.1Case Study Approach
Case study research bring out the insight of the complex problems and enhance understanding,
knowledge and experience that is already studied though previous research. Case study focus on the
detailed contextual analysis of a limited number of events or relationships between the events. Case
study research have the around for years and researchers have used the technique across many
disciplines for different problems. Across all the domains, the social scientist have made maximum
use of the case study method and benefited maximum from the qualitative research method, to
examine real life problems and provide basis for the ideas and extension of existing methods.

Some researches argued that case study method does not provide the complete picture and
provides a weak reference (Luck, Jackson, Usher, 2006) (Meyer, 2001) (Thomas, 2010) (Tight,
2010). To address the problem raised by some researches, the study uses multiple case studies with
different scenarios in the media industry i.e. two different issues in the organization and how
managers and team responded to the problem. Using multiple cases provides richer data, more
insights and key knowledge points that sometimes are missed or overlooked in the first case
(Bhattacherjee, 2012). Similarly, the generalizability can be improved by performing the two
different case studies under the same neutral settings. It helps to come to conclusions and findings
in a comprehensive way (Bhattacherjee, 2012). Three interviews per case are conducted involving
an expert and manager involved in the Business Process IT Decision making, an expert involved in
the Business Process IT implementation and one specialist involved in the other business processes
that have direct impact on the final outcome of the business process, for example after the BPIT
decision making and BPIT implementation, it is really important for the marketing team or the
sales team to come up with the concurrent plans to support the other business processes. The dual

The storm eased. Clouds parted and allowed the golden rays of a Camelotian sunset to fill the

he held his son, Leo, who looked just like his sister, except with slightly less roundness to his
cheeks. Leo let out a grunt and opened his eyes. They were blue, Taran s deep blue, and Taran
did not bother to check his tears of love. Did you hear all that? asked Alis, a soft smile on her
face. Not a word, Taran confessed. Veerah chuckled. Don t worry, Alis. I ll relay anything he
needs to know. I appreciate your knowledge about twins, as I have little. I ve only delivered one

shifted Leo into his left arm, then motioned for Veerah to hand over their daughter. He held both
his children, gazing at their beautiful faces, relishing in the warm afterglow of new fatherhood.
Taran, cradling his babies, was at peace, and would remain so as long as his children stayed
happy and healthy. And he would do everything in his power to see that happened. XXXX Tell us

laughing. He, the rest of the men, the women, Taran, Ilene, and Llacheu sat on the floor in the men

The Over Representation Of The New Zealand s Crime Sector...
The over representation of indigenous peoples and minority groups in crime rates is a significant
issue appearing in several countries worldwide. This essay will focus in on the over
representation of Maori in New Zealand s crime sector. The disproportionate levels of crime within
the Maori population will be looked at first through a contemporary strain theory lens using the
relationship between Police and Maori as an example to demonstrate how Maori may end up over
represented in the official crimestatistics. A critical criminologytheoretical framework, namely
labelling theory, will then be used to provide further understanding about why the over
representation of Maori in crime rates has remained consistent through several generations.
Individuals who identify as Maori currently make up 15% of New Zealand s population (Quince,
2007) , this reduces when age is taken account; where of New Zealand s population over 15
years old, 12.5% identify as Maori (Elers, 2012). Grossly disproportionate to this is the
representation of the Maori population in New Zealand crime rates. Studies have shown that in
New Zealand, Maori individuals are approximately 38 39% more likely to be prosecuted and
convicted of an offence than non Maori. They also showed that Maori individuals were nine times
more likely than non Maori to be kept in custody whilst awaiting trial for an offence. They are
seven times more likely to receive a custodial sentence after conviction and are markedly less

The Role Of Economic Classes In Zola s The Belly Of Paris
Zola s novel is set in a Paris that is defined by oppositional economic classes that struggle to gain
prosperity and security in the Belly of Paris. The opposing socioeconomic camps in The Belly of
Paris distinctly resemble those illustrated by Karl Marx. In The Communist Manifesto, Marx
describes a society that splits itself into two great classes directly facing each other: Bourgeoisieand
Proletariat (Marx Engels, 220). Moreover, Marx argues that the capitalist class, or the Bourgeoisie,
has conquered for itself, in the modern representative State, exclusive political sway (Marx Engels,
221). In Zola s naturalist observation of nineteenth century France, the reader imagines a distinct
struggle between these two classes.

Clean Water Pollution
a.There is pollution in major bodies of water in Iowa due to runoff from farms. This runoff
makes its way through rivers and streams to eventually reach the Gulf of Mexico. Runoff is a
major issue in Buena Vista, a county in Iowa, because it s water has been so badly polluted.
Raccoon River was so badly polluted that the Des Moines Water Works filed a federal lawsuit
against them. Buena Vista county decided to hire multiple law groups to handle the lawsuit. This
came with the question as to who was funding these law groups as they were being paid by a
group of donators. Eventually the county had to clean the Raccoon River and the question was
posed of how to limit the amount of nitrogen pollution caused by the runoff from Raccoon River. It
was estimated to cost $16 billion to clean the river which wasn t economically logical.

pays lawyers from the Crowell and Morning Law group as well as a group of lawyers in

Femininity In The Military
Military civilian relationships have been problematic when intermingling of races occurred. For
almost twenty years, America fought in the notorious Vietnam War, supporting South Vietnam. Due
to the length of the war, military civilian relationships were bound to develop. Thus, both the South
Vietnamese and the American government made policies in order to maintain an alliance between
their citizens. Due to encouraged toxic masculinity, the presence of femininity in the military, and
racial differences, policies, such as the V.D. Control policy and the policy listed in the Fact Sheet,
were essential in order to promote healthy relationships between American troops and Vietnamese

Since prostitution was legalized, Vietnamese police became known for harassing the women for
being prostitutes if they shared a taxi with an American male. The police did not approve of the
intermingling of Vietnamese with Americans. This displeasure originated from the newly
established social norm of creating prostitution houses in order to cater to foreign troops.
Prostitution was the relationship highlighted between American troops and the Vietnamese largely
due to the toxic masculinity expressed by the American troops. Based on these factors and the
harassment of police, sustaining a relationship outside of prostitution was difficult because
Vietnamese women were discouraged from spending time with foreigners due to harassment and
embarrassment. Therefore, in order to promote healthy relationships, American officials created a
Fact Sheet with instructions regarding the role of an American male in a situation where his taxi is
stopped because he is with a Vietnamese female. The purpose of the Fact Sheet was to protect the
women from other Vietnamese, specifically the police, who did not approve of their relationship
with American males or who simply wanted to profit from making women feel uncomfortable. This

The Roles Of The Elizabethan Theatre
Elizabethan Theatre Imagine if it only cost you one penny to get tickets to a Broadway
production. It would almost seem too good to be true! Well, back in the 1600s, in London, you
could buy your way into a theater for as little as one penny. This price made it easy for anyone of
any class to be able to partake in the festivities. Hence, the reason the theaters became so popular
from 1562 to 1642. The theatres were very profitable based on the fact they were so popular in the
community. The Elizabethan theatres were viewed as popular entertainment because of their
fanciful attributes, their various events, and their several venues. In 1576, James Burbage, a

The pit was the yard around the stage. The pit is where you would find most of the lower class
people at, such as the commoners. The theaters were popular for lower class people because it
was affordable for them. There were other amenities that were lacking for the theaters. Almost all
the lighting for the theater was natural light. This meant that most plays would have to be show
during the daytime. The theaters did not have heating either. In the winter months they would
have to shut the theater down and be transferred to indoor playhouses. This actually helped boost
popularity because it gave the people something to do during the cold winter months since it was
inside. There were no microphones or soundboards to be able to hear so actors had to speak
loudly and clearly. Unfortunately, there were also no toilets at the theater. But there were no
toilets and the floor they stood on was probably just sand, ash or covered in nutshells (Shakespeare

most cases the plays would consist of humor, tragedy, or histories. Shakespeare was one of the most
popular playwrights at this time, and many of his plays were performed in the Elizabethan theater.

especially in California. Partially this is because of the Democratic ran government but more than
that they think stricter gun laws are going to prevent the shootings from happening.

Who Is The Protagonist In To Kill A Mockingbird
To Kill A MockingBird was written by Harper Lee,who was a white woman and not racist. She

Fair Trade Vs. Free Trade
Fair Trade vs. Free Trade
The economic systems free trade and fair trade in like manner apply Foucault s triangle of power
and totalitarian knowledge. Specifically, I will analyze what negative effects the lack of subjugated
knowledge causes within these system s foundations and their future betterment through Foucault s
lessons. As a rule, most of the evil in this world is done by people with the best intentions (T.S.
Eliot). On October 1947, 23 nations in Geneva signed the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade
GATT . This liberated international trade and businesses to begin foreign production investing. The
aforementioned agreement was tremendous for the economy. Numerous countries are Free Trade
countries, including the U.S. Within free trade, goods, capital and services flow unhindered
between nations, without barriers, which would hinder the speed of trading processes. There are
no earning ceilings; citizens from free trade countries may secure as much money as they have the
ability to earn, within the confines of the law. Max Havelaar founded the fair trade model in 1988
under the initiative of the Dutch development agency Solidaridad. And the current face of fair
trade, Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International FLO established in Bonn, Germany with the
intention to unite the national Fair trade organizations under one umbrella and to set worldwide
standards and certification.

The type of Iron the body takes in can prevent the intoxication of Iron. High levels Heme Iron,
found in animals and their by products, can harm the body and increase the chance of chronic
diseases. Nonheme Iron, found in plant based diets, is healthy even in overconsumption. The intake
of vitamins and nutrients in the body is absorbed through one way: fats (Truesdell). When fat is
carried into the body s digestive system, it is broken down in the small intestine into lipids that
are then broken down into amino acids. The problem that has risen in western diets is the type
and amount of fat an American consumes. The type of fat found in animal products is saturated,
which means that the fat molecule has no chemical that can break down the fat (Disabled).
Because of the body unable to breakdown these fats, saturated fats is a main culprit to the
increased amount of chronic diseases. People should not eliminate all fat from the body or else
they can be as malnourished as someone who overuses those fats. Instead, foods, like plants and
grain oils, have amounts of unsaturated fat that are good for the body s nourishment in vitamins
and are easy to break down through the digestive process (Truesdell).
The injections of chemicals in our meats and dairy have also found a positive correlation in high
amounts of fat, which is another health concern that has started to become a

Data Analysis And Interpretation Of The Data Essay
Data Analysis and Interpretation
The objective of this chapter is to describe the procedures used in the analysis of the data and
present the main findings. It also presents the different tests performed to help choose the
appropriate model for the study. The chapter concludes by providing thorough statistical
interpretation of the findings.
The research data was analyzed using a statistical software called STATA. Before running the
data for the regression analysis, panel unit root test was performed to see if data is stationary over
time so that it can be used in estimating the variables in question. The value of the variables in the
model throughout the research period is not constant; that means, there are some periods where
there are spikes. These periods of ups and downs in value of economic variables are called shock in
economic jargon. The notion behind testing for stationarity is to identify whether the effect of such
shocks is permanent or transitory. If the effect of such shocks is temporary, the subsequent values
of the variables will return to their long term equilibrium suggesting that the data is stable even
with the presence of shocks.
4.1. Presentation and Interpretation of research findings
Table 4.1 presents the panel unit root test results. There are two groups of hypotheses that are
involved here. In the first four methods, the null hypothesis is: there is panel unit root and the
alternative hypothesis is: there is no panel unit root and the decision

Views on Health Care Reform Evaluated Essay
While many political issues are controversial and emotional for voters in America, few issues
have created an outcry in recent years like the debate over health care reform. The arguments for
and against such a comprehensive overhaul of the United States health care system are numerous
and wide ranging, as demonstrated by the scores of showings of support and protest against it.
While it seems unlikely that few in the country could understand all of the ramifications of such a
large bill, virtually everyone could find something they liked or did not like in the bill. Indeed, the
one unifying aspect of all of the debate over the reform was the fact that everyone acknowledged
that reform was needed, but as to what that alteration should... Show more content on

This argument has little room for a counter argument, since it is based upon an interpretation of
basic American ideals and economics, rather than a more debatable topic. However, given the vast
quantity of economic theories that abound, agreement on any economic matter is uncertain at best.
Critics have also pointed out the fact that other countries with similar or more drastic health care
programs are doing poorly or failing. Indeed, one study found that:
The findings suggest that universal health care systems such as Australia s, with mixed public
/private funding and delivery allowing for choice in heath care, may actually perpetuate health
inequity. While such systems might ensure equity for patients with AMI, where guidelines for
treatment are relatively well established, this is not the case for care of patients with angina, where
high technology health care may be less urgent and more discretionary. (Clements, Kelman, Korda,
2009)
While comparing countries is invariably a difficult task given the wide varience in governments,
cultural tendencies and economic realities, the Australian method is quite similar to the health care
reform bill, and should give its supporters pause. At the very least, the results of the Australia should
give us pause as we implement our system and attempt to avoid the problems that they have had,
rather than avoiding that type of system at all. Our current health care system has many problems,

Epistemological and Management Research Problem
In what ways does the choice of an epistemological perspective or stance influence the formulation
of a management research problem?
Epistemology is all about knowledge. It is defined by Bonjour (2002) as the philosophical study
of knowledge; its nature, its requirements and its limitations . Knowledge is about what you
know. How you know what you know is dependent on your perceptions, your views, your
reasoning and the reality of it. The first time I came across the question what is knowledge? it
virtually looks like a simple question that I could easily provide an answer to but in the real sense
of it, I realized I was dealing with a complex question which requires a difficult answer. Knowledge
is vast but the reality of it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All these fall under different categories of; Intuitive knowledge, Authoritarian knowledge,
Logical knowledge and Empirical knowledge as identified by epistemologists (Tee, 2004). The
source of knowledge is very important because if there is any form of skepticism about the
validity of the product of knowledge, one may take to the origin or source of the knowledge.
This does not mean that certain sources of knowledge are unreliable. In fact, a single study or
research work can employ the use of all the sources of knowledge but this depends on the
researcher. Therefore, for a management research problem to be formulated, the chosen
epistemological perspective has a great part to play because the identification of the problem and
the definition of the problem have to be linked to the knowledge expected to yield them. As
illustrated by Easterby Smith, Thorpe Jackson (2012), of all the various features of a project or a
research work, epistemology is one of those that are progressively less visible but provides
alongside with ontology and methodology the decisions and assumptions that the method and
techniques of the projects depend on.
Epistemology presents two approaches to a research problem. The first is the positivism approach
which as explained by Easterby Smith, Thorpe Jackson (2012) carries the assumption that there is a
reality which exists independently of the

Prenatal Testing Research Paper
Prenatal Testing and the Disability Community The dream of every expectant mother is to give
birth to a healthy baby when the nine months elapse. However, the culture of uncertainty among
eager mothers has engulfed their thoughts of the possibility of giving birth to children with
disabilities. As a result, they have turned to clinics for prenatal screening with a hope of getting a
clean bill of health from medical practitioners about their current situation. All these efforts are not
in vain in their minds as long as they are assured their babies will not have Down s syndrome or

common. According to Synder and Gauthier (2008), ethics can be defined as a moral principle that
dictates human behavior and classifying it as either good or bad based on the end result and the
motive behind the cause of action. There is a more compelling need to find out what motivated the
emergence of prenatal screening. Also, to find out how it has achieved its objectives. To begin with,

The Benefits Of National Parks
For over 100 years, national parks have been a large part of America s national identity. Recently,
there have been many different thoughts on the funding of these parks, including cutting budgets
and increasing prices. The changes made by our current president contradict the views of former
president Theodore Roosevelt. The difference in what they believe is important because it may
cause drastic changes in the future of our national parks. During his time as president, Roosevelt
set aside more than 230 million acres of land for different uses. Among these were wildlife
sanctuaries, national forests, national monuments, and five national parks. It is clear that he
cared deeply about the environment and wildlife, which is one of the reasons why so many
people believe he was a great president. Unlike Roosevelt, Donald Trump does not appear to care
as much for the environment, especially for the national parks. The administration proposed to
increase the prices of visiting these parks. Emily Atkin writes Starting next year, it would cost cars
$70 instead of $25 or $30 to enter public treasures like Yellowstone, Yosemite, Shenandoah, and the
Grand Canyon during peak season (Atkin). In her article, she writes about the announcement of this
proposal and the effects it could have on nature. Atkin explains that the Secretary of the Interior,
Ryan Zinke, not only wants to raise the price of admission, but to lease land that is adjacent to the
national parks to large oil

Marketing Mix And Telephone Operator O2
Introduction There is no single indicator of performance but a variety of different measures
which provide an insight into a telephone operator s economic, social, managerial and consumer
perspectives. These may relate to price, quality, user choice or efficiency. A good performance
in one service does not allow one to predict a favourable performance in other aspects and no
operator can claim to be perfect in all of these respects. In a highly competitive business
environment like the telecommunications industry, subscriber based service models are
something of a mandate In markets like these, business successes can be validated by a very low
churn rates. _Churn rate is a wide term and can be applied to a company s customer base,
revenue, employee turnover etc._ This is ideally a result of the deployment of successful business
models and a logical application of the marketing mix and telephone operator O2, in the recent

Silence Of The Lambs Forensic Evidence
Silence of the Lambs Forensic Evidence The film Silence of the Lambs based off the novel
written by Thomas Harris has a story plot that involves many situations where forensic evidence is
used. The film follows an FBI trainee named Clarice Starling trying to hunt down a serial killer
using scientific methods to solve the crime. One method that was used during the investigation was
the profile of the criminal. While observing the previous victims bodies, Clarice discovered the
common factor that the unsub would always shove a specific moth species down the victim s
throat. This important piece of evidence was the smoking gun that resulted in finally finding

Even though the river was not the exact location of where the murders took place, the people
were still able to get clues on where the crimes may have happened. Also, by dumping the bodies
in the river this trait let the detectives come to the conclusion that the unsub was an organized
killer. This means that he was smart enough to know that the river would erase many traces of
evidence that would make it harder for the FBI to solve the case. A third scientific technique
used in Silence of the Lambs was identifying the killer s trophy. Some murderers keep a souvenir
from their victim that reminds them of their crime. After looking at the victims, Clarice
discovered that Buffalo Bill s trophy was keeping the skin of the women that he murdered. Later
in the movie, Clarice visited one of the homes of a missing victim. While studying her room
looking for clues, Clarice comes to the conclusion that Buffalo Bill was skinning the women to
make a bodysuit. Not only did seeing the moths in the killer s home draw a red flag, but seeing
the sewing kit also gave a hint the she had found Buffalo Bill. A chemical used in the film that is

Jfk Inaugural Address Speech Analysis
On a day that was filled with sparkling cold snow January 20th, 1961 In Washington D.C
President John F. Kennedy delvers his will know inaugural address speech, to the citizens of both
the world and America at the end of a close and fierce ballot Kennedy persuaded, captivated the
people and he was very successful. Using Pathos, Logos, Ethos and some subtle techniques he
effectively converted millions of people in the USA .by touching their hearts and motivating their
minds.
JFK heavily uses pathos, repetition, and changing sentence structures to deliver an effective speech.
John F. Kennedy touches many American hearts in his speech. In the second paragraph he says
he has sworn before you and Almighty God (p1). The mentioning of God so early in his speech
sets the tone for the rest of his speech. He ends the speech by mentioning God again, Gods work
most truly be our own (p3). Showing America that he is a deeply religious man. Throughout his
speech JFK uses thought provoking words such as freedom, success, and liberty, words that have
become synonymous with the American dream. The constant uses of these words invoke a feeling
of patriotism in most Americans.
JFK uses repetition to demonstrate his points throughout his speech. He constantly reminds the
American people that they are a united and strong country that can make it through anything. He
also mentions that America can solve problems with their enemies using diplomacy several times.
He begins four paragraphs in a row with the same words, Let both sides , to illustrate that he is
willing to work things out with countries America is having problems with. The use of repetition
helps Kennedy to convey his message to his audience. Long, powerful sentences occasionally to
keep the formality of the speech and to convey important messages to his audience. The
interchanging between the simple, short sentences and the long, eloquent sentences keeps the
audience listening and wondering what he is going to say next. John F. Kennedy effective uses
rhetorical devices to successfully convey his ambitions and hopes for America. His use of pathos,
repetition, and variation of sentences helps him to achieve this goal. John F. Kennedy s speech was

In fact, an expert from the L.A. Sheriff s Department who testified at the Sleepy Lagoon trial is
quoted as saying:
Let us view it from the biological basis. . . Total disregard for human life has always been
universal throughout the Americas in the human population. And this Mexican element feels a
desire to kill or at least to draw blood (Tobar, 1997). On top of the racism faced in the courtroom
was the media bias against the Mexican American population. In the process of covering events in
the city, the then Hearst owned papers did a series of articles on the pachuco gangs, depicting
Mexican American neighborhoods as being fraught with violence, places of raping and
pillaging (Tobar, 1997). This was the atmosphere of the city at the time of the Sleepy Lagoon
murder in 1942, when the body of Jose Diaz was found at a common swimming hole after a
party. Because of the public outrage over pachuco gangs, which was instigated by the media, the
sheriff s department went on a sweep of the city s barrios, rounding up and arresting over 600
young men in connection to the Sleepy Lagoon case. Eventually 24 men were indicted for murder,
and 12 were convicted (Tobar, 1997). During the trial in early 1943, the defendants were forced to

Of the hundreds of named brand clothing that form part of the retail and fashion industry I chose
to compare, for my analysis, Abercrombie Fitch, Forever 21, American Eagle, and H M. These
stores are prominent, well known for selling apparel, shoes, and accessories by the means of
offering sales and promotions to their customers. This is a clever strategy for attracting customers,
allowing them to believe that they bought goods at affordable, convenient prices and not to mention
the prestigious name prescribed to the clothing brands. Using keyhole.co as my main source, I
obtained relevant and valuable information regarding the status of these brands. My intentions
were to compare a period of 14 days, however, due to the limited access that I received from my
free trial, the program only allowed me to see fewer of the dates than I anticipated. I want to take
this opportunity and mention ahead of time that due to the various and distinctive products that
are sold from these stores, when looking for the spending capacity I decided to focus on shirts

those items and as a way to make this report easier to contrast and comprehend. Also, when
approaching the section of setting , I screen shotted some of the images on Instagram and made
them into a collage to separate the type of clothes and trends that each of these brands sell currently.

Personal Computer Impact
Throughout history, new technology has always had an economic impact, each technology
differing in significance of impact. In some cases this impact may not be as drastic as it appears at
first glance, and in others, it may be more so. The personal computer, first introduced in 1975, has
certainly had an impact on the economy of the developed world in which it is, including the United
States. However, there are those out three who believe that the personal computerhas not had as
great an impact on economics in the United States as it would appear at first glance. The personal
computerhas certainly affected the economy, but the questions of How much? , and Who remain.
When the personal computer first came onto the scene in the 1970s, many companies tried to
jump into the new market. Some of the names involved are still familiar household names even
still today, but some failed in this new market quickly after joining. One name that is still easily
recognizable today is Apple. In 1976, Apple designed and released the Apple I. However, it wasn t
until 1980 that personal computers became affordable enough that they could be used at home. In
that year, Commodore released a personal computer that only cost consumers $299, which was
more affordable to the average consumer than previous computer prices had been. It is estimated
that by the end of 1980, there were around one million personal computers in use in the US. In

Designing A Building Or Interior Design For Lure Customers
Many restaurants and shops use the look of their building or interior design to lure customers in.
Some businesses try to appeal to everyone by using common things that everyone likes, while
some businesses try to aim at a certain group of individuals that are into a specific type of theme.
In general, we can all agree that a boring place isn t very appealing to go into to eat or shop so
business owners try to appeal to their customers so that they can attract more business. One tactic
for bringing in more customers can be seen through the use of coloramong the business s interior
or exterior. Use of wall space also has an important role in catching people s eye; what is on the
walls and how they are used is a common way to lure in people. Another common and great tactic
includes the use of music or media like T.V, what the T.V is showing or the music being played
can help bring more people into a place. Buffalo Wild Wings use all three of these strategies to
attract its customers, mainly targeting those who have a love of sports.
The way a store or restaurant looks and is set up can often affect people s opinion of the business
and can even determine who shops or eats at the location. When looking for restaurants the first
thing one sees is either the sign or the exterior of the building. The colors of Buffalo Wild Wings

Biblical View of the Church
The Church was birthed in Jerusalem on the Day of Pentecost after receiving the promised Holy
Spirit. The book of Acts describes the beginning as well as the characteristics of the risen Christ
newborn church (Acts 2:42 47). During this time, the Good News of Jesus Christ was proclaimed
initially to Jews in Jerusalem and later spread to Gentiles throughout the Roman Empire. Since
Jews and Gentiles were God s called out ones , their mutual hostility was transformed into a
cooperative unity due to their common salvation provided through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:13

According to Phillips (2008) In today s moral and social turmoil, the church has functioned less
like an anchor giving stability and strength in the midst of a hurricane, and more like a spider

In reason number six of Lutzer book Seven Reasons Why You Can Trust The Bible
, he points out to
the fact that The Scriptures are said to be God s breathed (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV). Neither church
councils nor words of Knowledge are said to have that authority . In 2 Timothy 3:16 17 Paul
advices Timothy about the source and authority of Scripture, All Scripture is inspired by God
and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the
man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work . Sola scriptura, the Scriptures
alone , is above traditions or any religious interpretation . The Church of God has been called to
teach accurately the Truth revealed in the Scriptures. Lutzer exposes that, for instance, Catholicism
teaches the primacy of the church over the canon of Scripture; it believes that the official church
is just as infallible as the Bible . According to this point of view the church , which is composed
by popes and councils, determined which books are in the bible (p. 155).
In this modern age the church is functioning in a pluralistic

different levels of cyclin and act as a threshold that once reached, triggers a phase transition. For
example, for a cell to move out of G2 phase into M phase, Cyclin B interacts with the CDK1
complex, and causes phosphorylation to stimulate the phase shift; however, if the stage is not
complete, the whole process slows down to accommodate the discrepancy in CDK complexes
(Nelson Education, figure 9.17, page 191). This can be caused by several things, such as the
presence of damaged or deformed DNA, or externally through contact inhibition, where a delay in
phase shift is caused by partial or incomplete contact of all cells. If there is only partial cell
contact, contact inhibition will typically prevent progression past the G1 phase until there is
complete cell contact, which can be reflected in variable levels of the CDK complex(Nelson
Education, page 191). Overall, CDK regulates cell division through the combination of CDK and
cyclin, the activation of protein via a phosphate group that triggers a phase change,

Anthropology, Ethnography, And Ethnology
An Anthropologist follows two unique approaches when studying culture, ethnography, and
ethnology. Ethnography and Ethnology may share a zeal for culture, they possess distinctive
methodology and unique goals. Life on the field does not lack its myriad of challenges which the
anthropologist must work through daily. Through the studies of ethnographyand ethnology, we are
able to educate ourselves on the lives and rich variegated cultures with whom we share our world.
We see the fruitful work of ethnology and ethnography all around us. Ethnology provides us with
scientific data, analytical and fact culling. The work of biologist Vojtech Novotny in Papua New

Ethnography is immersive research honed on a single culture.Ethnographers offer us information
about cultures and what they do. Utilizing a descriptive approach, an ethnographer is inside of a
cultural environment. Their goal pushes the mind to think beyond why a culture may engage in
certain rituals. An ethnographer questions the vast intricacies of the culture as a whole. Detailed
questions fuel the process for the ethnologist, What is the meaning of this ritual to you? What is
your kinship?(Miller 2/6/2017). Remaining immersed in a culture yet still an objective observer is
integral to ethnography, both from an ethical view and to conduct the most non biased research
possible.
Various methods are used to collect the information and reach the goals of studying a culture.
Interviews are an integral part of garnering cultural data. Simply making conversation with another
human in their language opens up many doors. Interviews can be an opportunity to gain an insider

Persuasive Essay Against Gun Control
Currently gun control has been amidst one of the most thought of debates not only in recent times,
but also in prior occasions. The mass shootings occurring more often lately have fueled the
altercation pertaining to one subject, gun control. Gun control may have many different meanings,
or descriptions varying from person to person. One may think that guncontrol is banning guns all
together, banning a certain category of weapons, or banning certain items like high capacity
magazines, and flash suppressors. All of these would be forms of gun control, but the true meaning
of gun control, as stated by an online article What Gun Control Could Look Like, Gun control
would allow citizens in the United States to still purchase firearms, but there would be reasonable
regulations on firearms (Greenblat). This statement introduces the idea that gun control would not
be banning guns, but banning items that are unnecessary for civilians to have possession of.
Banning all guns cannot happen because it would be infringing upon the second amendment, the
right to bear arms. The second amendment cannot be changed or challenged, but perimeters may be
set to keep guns and people s capabilities with them limited. A firearmin the hands of a criminal or
someone with bad intentions is not good, but it can be prevented. Gun control needs to happen,
or mass shootings and high rates of violence will continue to occur in society. Guns have
contributed to a very large amount of deaths in the United States. Suicides, homicides, and mass
killings all occur, and guns are the most used weapon in all of these cases. Guns are responsible
for one point three percent of all deaths in the United States between the years 1999, and 2013.
This made guns the twelfth leading cause of all deaths between these years (procon.org). In the
United States roughly 30,000 suicides are committed every year (harvard.edu). Most of these could
be prevented but the easy access to dangerous weapons such as guns plays a large role in whether
or not the person attempting suicidesucceeds in taking their life or not. Every day there are as
many as ninety three people that die from guns. Fifty eight of the deaths, or two thirds, are people
who commit suicide with

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Multichannel Banking
The consumers of a bank utilizing its digital channels would like to access its services whenever
they want, from any location. They could complete a transaction using a mobile/tablet. Omni
banking provides opportunities to connect with customers, deliver personalized products/services.
Banks leveraging the potential of omnichannel banking clinch and maintain long term business
relationship with its digital consumers, thereby enhancing their profitability.
Omnichannel vs. Multichannel Banking
The multichannel banking customers connect with the bank through various channels branch,
mobile, online, call centre, ATM. However, the consumers don t get the same service quality across
all channels. Banks recommend their customers to use the channel that is the most cost effective. In
most banks, the banking channel processes function in a silo. As a result, consumers are provided
unwanted products or inefficient service via multiple channels. For e.g., a loan is provided via
online/mobile and banking channels even if the consumer is not interested in the loan. ... Show more

the customer to choose the channel of preference for banking transactions. Various channels have

customers context, transaction and outcomes covering business processes.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow Research Paper
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow became one of the most beloved poets because of his exceptional
writing skills and has largely impacted America today in many ways. The way in which he
presented his style within his writings is unique and remarkable, and the reason why he is widely
popular. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was one of America s most prolific poets of his time, and
helped shape American character through his manipulation of the English language. Henry
Wadsworth Longfellow was born on February 27, 1807 in Portland, Maineto Stephen Longfellow
and Zilpah Wadsworth (Gartner). Longfellow was born into a wealthy family of lawyers and was
sent to school at the young age of three, preparing him and his brothers for college. ( Henry

One of Longfellow s famous poems, A Psalm of Life, includes many distinctive literary devices
that he consistently used throughout his works. One device, rhythm, is Longfellow s signature
throughout all of these poems. In A Psalm of Life, the rhyme scheme is presented as a simple
ABAB. This can be seen in phrases such as, Tell me not in mournful numbers...for the soul is dead
that slumbers. ( A Psalm of Life ). Rhyming is a prominent literary device throughout his poems as
he did write lyric poems which focused on emotions and had songlike qualities.
The legacy and influence of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was not short lived. In fact, many
English teachers teach on his poetry today because they believe it is easier to understand, and more
effective at preparing students for understanding complex poetry. Longfellow is also known for the

initial lower cost for buyers along with discounts for high volumes ordered over a fiscal year. In

satisfactory initial penetration. Once, the initial curiosity about the quality of her own
performance is satisfied the artist won t find any alternative use of the report. If the report says
their song has enough potential to be a great hit, that conclusion does little for them because the
record labels are not likely to acknowledge the credibility of the HMI report. All exhibits are
restricted to the US Market. Exhibit 1: Why USA is the best choice of geography? The rationale
behind the choice is obvious when we consider that it has the highest music market in the world
and is [(12609 5001) / 12609] ~ 60% more in dollar values than the second highest, Japan.
Graphically, when compared to the top 5 music markets, USA looks significantly higher (for

created by the Continental Congress in 1777. The federal government did not have enough power
in order to assemble the military. Congress mostly relied on the state militias for security because
the Articles of Confederation did not have a national military. The Constitution allows the

the Articles of Confederation every state had their own smaller military. The government can

Fate In The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Ultimately, the Mariner is set free from his initial torment by retelling his story to those
individuals, who are in need of hearing it. Through the act of making terrible decisions, the
Mariner along with his crew, embark on a dangerous path; a dangerous path that sets foot in the
scenery of the Antarctic Ocean. On what was supposed to be a normal sailing day, the weather
seemed to turn against them. From the combination of the ice cracking to massive gusts of wind,
the stage appeared as a life or death situation. In the midst of this occurring, an albatrossa legendary
bird arrives and tries to head the ship away from the uncontrollable conditions. Therefore, the
albatrosswas considered a good luck charm by the crew members. Unfortunately, from the Mariner
s lack of judgment, he finalizes this luck by killing the albatross. Through a series of events, the
crew continuously blames the Mariner for all the catastrophes that occur to them after the bird s
death. In fact, in The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, the text further illustrates this cause and effect
situation by stating that instead of the cross, the Albatross was hung on the Mariner s neck
(Coleridge, part II). This brief statement depicts how the Mariner would be held responsible for
every parch and every glazed eye (Coleridge, part III) that follows his crew. These statements are
vividly effective in analyzing the severity of the situation. His crew members are so upset with him

measure 2 of Beethoven s string quartet Op.59 No. 3 where in the system two, a fast, rhythmically
and harmonically dense melody is played and suddenly in the end of system 2 (measure 6) the first
violin has a measure long segmented high violin solo. The sudden change in harmonic rhythm and
density make this measure eye catching already but the fact that it is in an extremely high register
makes it more jarring and immediately transiting into a more melodious section, which leads to
theme II in the expository section. Comparing it to the first movement of Beethoven s String

However, these phrases are still connected unlike in the heroic style many phrases like this are
separated and the accents on the rhythm are very different. Another habit of Beethoven when
composing his pieces in the heroic style would be to insert warlike themes and motifs into his
pieces. Some of these themes include death and victory. Loh 4 Conspicuously dramatic features in

Tyler Joseph s Song Ode To Sleep
At first, Ode to Sleep, a song by the band Twenty One Pilots, seems to illustrate the relationship
between being asleep and being awake. However, the song has much more meaning to it. In fact, it
discusses depression and the horrible thoughts that can go through someone s mind at night.
Moreover, in this song, night and day have special meaning. Tyler Joseph, the writer of the song
and lead singer of the band, uses lyrics and different types of instruments, such as the synthesizer
and strings, to portray the meanings behind the signs in this song. Additionally, the song cycles
between dark and light parts, each with its own meaning. This paper will not only discuss the

Why am I not scared in the morning? I don t hear those voices calling (Joseph, Ode to Sleep).
This suggests that the light sounding music and the dark sounding music are in fact symbols for
day and night, which are also symbols for sanity and insanity. When Joseph is awake in the
morning, he doesn t have dark thoughts and is sane, but at night, Joseph is insane and hears
demonic voices. In addition, the voices are icons that represent evil and darkness. Later in the
first lighter part, Joseph sings Why wont you let me go, Do I threaten all your plans, I m
insignificant. You have no plans for me, I will set my soul on fire, what have I become, I m
sorry (Joseph, Ode to Sleep). Joseph believes that he is fighting darkness with his harpoon, but
he doesn t want to because by doing so, he is going insane. Moreover, when Joseph sings I will
set my soul on fire , he sounds like he is struggling to take a breath, as if he was fighting to live

regions one of those regions being the Middle East, which had to deal with religious and ethnic

The story The Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket helps show how both regions had an
appreciation for everything, be it big or small. Most of the lanterns were beautiful square ones
which the children had made themselves with love and care (159). This shows that even though
they lacked many things, they still appreciated what they had, even if it was small. The Middle
Eastern poem Identity Card also shows this theme. My house... made of sticks and reeds (80)
shows the small amount that the Palestinians in the Middle East had and how they were able to
appreciate it before it was all taken away from them. The East Asian poem One Step shows the
theme of admiration as well, however this time it is the appreciation of time. The child has
learned to talk to walls... dotage, only one step away. (146) shows the passing of time and how,
in a blink of an eye, a child would have experienced their whole life and become feeble and old.
This shows the acceptance of the East Asian people that life is quick and their appreciation
towards what they already had. Both East Asia and the Middle East used first person point of view

Women s Suffrage Essay
Women s Suffrage
At the turn of the twentieth century, the ideal British woman in Great Britain was to maintain a
demure manner, a composed façade. A delicate disposition with a distain for all things violent and
vulgar. However, by this point in time, an increasing number of women were becoming ever more
frustrated with their suppressed position in society. Women eventually went to extreme, militant
measures to gain rights, especially to gain women the right to vote. Although this controversy in the
short term could perhaps be seen to delay the implementation of women s suffrage, combined with
the rest of their campaigning, the respect they received during World War 1 and the political

Later, in 1897, led by Millicent Garrett Fawcett, the National Union of Women s Suffrage
Societies was set up. The NUWSS restricted itself to peaceful methods. Their morals and beliefs
were to change other aspects of women s lives in education and social status then gain the vote once
these other targets had been achieved.
In 1906 one of the first major attempts for the enfranchisement of women was undertaken .A
gathering of more than 300 women, representing more than 125,000 suffragists nationwide,
reasoned for women s suffrage with Prime Minister Sir Henry Campbell Bannerman. He did not
disagree with the delegations argument, but was obliged to add that he proposed to do nothing at
all about it . Although he urged women to Keep on pestering .
As well as arguing with politicians to get their cause heard, women had devised many other forms
of persuasion. They used law abiding tactics and
started a massive campaign supporting the Liberal Party to get into power. Although the suffragists
knew that all the political parties were doubtful about votes for women, they felt that the Liberals
were most likely to grant them suffrage. The Liberals were the radicals of the time, believing in
equality for all (hopefully including women). Some Liberals hoped that by giving women the vote
the party would gain more votes in the future.

  • 3. Fungimental Income Statement inancial Analysis Income and Expense Analysis The profit and loss are able to reflect the financial performance of an enterprise. It is undeniable that the accrual figures are essential for firms to analyse the financial situations, however, our income statement is prepared on the cash basis and a number of assumptions are made because Fungimental is a star up enterprise and it is at the start stage. The forecast of budgeted income statement for Fungimental in 2016 2017 indicates that the company could maintain sustainable during the period and it is able to gain the positive net income of $259,105.00 at the end of April 01 2017. Nevertheless, on the basis of Fungimental (2016), a star up capital of $75,000.00 is required to ensure the process. Funding plan and use of funds As mentioned above, the number of funds should be $75,000 at the beginning, and numbers of funding methods could be utilised to obtain the funds, including funding from governments, crowd ... • 4. Scrutinize Zeno s Dichotomy Paradox Zeno of Elea is most well known for his series of about 40 different paradoxes of plurality designed to show that believing in many things rather than just one can only lead to illogical conclusions. One of the topics he emphasizes on is motion, more specifically with these paradoxes he attempts to establish that motion is impossible. Here he describes three different paradoxes one of which is the Dichotomy paradox. The purpose of this essay is to scrutinize Zeno s Dichotomy paradox and to see if it properly defends itself against some of the main challenges that have been raised against it, which I believe Zeno has managed to do. I will reevaluate Zeno s paradox in comparison to see how well it defends against criticism. Although some arguments... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mathematics has greatly advanced since the time of Zeno and Aristotle and this has brought to light another way to counter Zeno s paradoxes. With the creation of calculus, Zeno s paradox has been more or less resolved. The calculus solution to this paradox considers the infinite sequence of ВЅ, Вј, 1/8, ..., 1/2^n, which is an infinite geometric sequence. Geometric sequences have a formula of ∑_(n=1)^в€ ћв–’гЂ–(гЂ– 1/2гЂ—^i )гЂ—=1 were the number of half steps are balanced out by the increasingly short amount of time needed to journey through all those distances. However, this is a convergence of an infinite series, which means that the sum of this can be approximated very closely to one if you add up enough terms. This mathematical explanation seemed to suffice for a lot of people, since the sum of all of those terms can be approximated closely enough to a doable number to justify motion being an actual thing. However, if we take a closer look at Zeno s paradox, the problem was not that the runner wouldn t get close to the final point, point B. The problem was that the runner would never actually manage to reach that final point because no matter how small the distance between the runner and the final point, the distance can still be divisible by half and therefore there would never be a final point were the runner would confidentially reach point B. Because the calculus equation can only approximate very closely to the final point, but never the actual point, this solution is still not the correct ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Government Corruption In Mexico City The Olympic games are a two weeklong tournament where the best athletes compete with solidarity and fair play to develop humanism and respect among every nation. Host candidates are chosen by the IOC (International Olympic Committee) according to specific demands and requirements. Nevertheless, chosen cities are meant to promise their entire commitment and effort for investing in infrastructure, public security, public health and tourism. Despite this optimism, the prevailing concern is that the costs will increase for those living in the host nation, while the mayor benefits will be for the IOC and all the multinational partners involved. For example, while Brazil spends billions of dollars, the IOC is expected to earn billions too through sponsorship deals, owning TV rights and many other income fees. While new stadiums and new luxury hotels are built, citizens living in the favelas will be forced to leave their homes just for the government to exhibit the perfect image of a role model host. Of course everyone knows what the people are protesting about: government... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Investigating Ethical Qualms Of The Modern Toilet Investigating Ethical Qualms of the Modern Toilet Nina Levison Initial interest and topic expansion This paper started as a way to talk about my ethical qualms with the toilet and see if there was a scientific basis to back them up. More than a history or philosophy of how the modern toilet came to be, I wanted to see if there is scientific evidence to back up my idea of toilets and the modern sewage treatment systems as wasteful. In order to understand the wastefulness, or efficiency, of the toilet however, I had to answer the question, what happens when we flush? This may not be the most interesting or sexiest information about waste, but it is an important look into a part of the waste stream we contribute to daily, in fact, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Modern sewage formed in response to the 1858 Great Stink of London. The Great Stink was a product of many factors. The introduction of flush toilets replacing previously popular chamber pots increased water and waste volume into cesspits. Additionally, these cesspits, once only used for excess rainwater collection, began to carry waste from slaughterhouses and factories, contaminating the city before its ultimate departure into the River Thames, which began to overflow with sewage along with its tributaries. All of this combined with an unusually hot summer encouraged bacterial growth, a rancid odor, and contributed to a cholera outbreak. In response, London built thousands of miles of underground pipe and created the modern sewage treatment system [3][4]. Two categories of sewage treatment Sewage treatment can be broken into two categories storm sewers and sanitary sewers [5]. 1.Storm sewers Storm sewers drain excess rain and groundwater from manmade infrastructure like roads and parking lots. Sometimes the water may be processed to remove stuff like car oil, but for the most part, they get less treatment than sanitary sewers or sometimes none at all[5]. 2.Sanitary sewers Sanitary sewers are processed to clean up human waste. Although there are many methods of dealing with human waste, the generally accepted method in North America consists of a three stage sewage treatment system. In this essay I will ... • 8. The Effect Of Exercise On Cardiovascular Function Introduction: Tokui and Hirakoba (2007) define exercise efficiency as the given rate of power output in relation to the amount of energy expended in a given time (as cited in Gaesser and Brooks, 1975). Efficiency during exercise varies due to several biomechanical and physiological factors namely, contraction velocity and the force produced by muscles (Tokui and Hirakoba). Research shows that exercise efficiency ranges differ among the various types of exercise modalities commonly used in clinical and recreational settings (McArdle, F. Katch, and V. Katch, 2010). Measuring exercise efficiency allows researchers to examine which modalities of exercise are most efficient, enabling athletes and individuals in rehabilitation to choose the proper mode of training to fit their needs. During rehabilitation or training, improving cardiovascular function is a essential measure of outcome; thus, doctors, physical therapists and coaches are left to decide which mode of exercise will better yield results based on an individual s abilities and disabilities (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Different exercise modes may elicit varying physiological responses; therefor professionals aiming to augment their patient or athlete s rehabilitation and training regimens should consider the latter (Barfield, Sherman and Michael, 2003). Some researches argued that case study method does not provide the complete picture and provides a weak reference (Luck, Jackson, Usher, 2006) (Meyer, 2001) (Thomas, 2010) (Tight, 2010). To address the problem raised by some researches, the study uses multiple case studies with different scenarios in the media industry i.e. two different issues in the organization and how managers and team responded to the problem. Using multiple cases provides richer data, more insights and key knowledge points that sometimes are missed or overlooked in the first case (Bhattacherjee, 2012). Similarly, the generalizability can be improved by performing the two different case studies under the same neutral settings. It helps to come to conclusions and findings in a comprehensive way (Bhattacherjee, 2012). • 11. The Over Representation Of The New Zealand s Crime Sector... The over representation of indigenous peoples and minority groups in crime rates is a significant issue appearing in several countries worldwide. This essay will focus in on the over representation of Maori in New Zealand s crime sector. The disproportionate levels of crime within the Maori population will be looked at first through a contemporary strain theory lens using the relationship between Police and Maori as an example to demonstrate how Maori may end up over represented in the official crimestatistics. A critical criminologytheoretical framework, namely labelling theory, will then be used to provide further understanding about why the over representation of Maori in crime rates has remained consistent through several generations. Individuals who identify as Maori currently make up 15% of New Zealand s population (Quince, 2007) , this reduces when age is taken account; where of New Zealand s population over 15 years old, 12.5% identify as Maori (Elers, 2012). Grossly disproportionate to this is the representation of the Maori population in New Zealand crime rates. Studies have shown that in New Zealand, Maori individuals are approximately 38 39% more likely to be prosecuted and convicted of an offence than non Maori. They also showed that Maori individuals were nine times more likely than non Maori to be kept in custody whilst awaiting trial for an offence. In The Communist Manifesto, Marx describes a society that splits itself into two great classes directly facing each other: Bourgeoisieand Proletariat (Marx Engels, 220). This runoff makes its way through rivers and streams to eventually reach the Gulf of Mexico. Runoff is a major issue in Buena Vista, a county in Iowa, because it s water has been so badly polluted. Raccoon River was so badly polluted that the Des Moines Water Works filed a federal lawsuit against them. Buena Vista county decided to hire multiple law groups to handle the lawsuit. This came with the question as to who was funding these law groups as they were being paid by a group of donators. Eventually the county had to clean the Raccoon River and the question was posed of how to limit the amount of nitrogen pollution caused by the runoff from Raccoon River. It was estimated to cost $16 billion to clean the river which wasn t economically logical. b.There is a large account that is funded by the Farm Bureau and many commodity groups which pays lawyers from the Crowell and Morning Law group as well as a group of lawyers in Washington, D.C. to keep Iowa from being potentially billed $100 million dollars in damages due to violation of the Clean Water Act. Prostitution was the relationship highlighted between American troops and the Vietnamese largely due to the toxic masculinity expressed by the American troops. Based on these factors and the harassment of police, sustaining a relationship outside of prostitution was difficult because Vietnamese women were discouraged from spending time with foreigners due to harassment and embarrassment. When fat is carried into the body s digestive system, it is broken down in the small intestine into lipids that are then broken down into amino acids. The problem that has risen in western diets is the type and amount of fat an American consumes. The type of fat found in animal products is saturated, which means that the fat molecule has no chemical that can break down the fat (Disabled). Data Analysis And Interpretation Of The Data Essay Data Analysis and Interpretation The objective of this chapter is to describe the procedures used in the analysis of the data and present the main findings. It also presents the different tests performed to help choose the appropriate model for the study. The chapter concludes by providing thorough statistical interpretation of the findings. The research data was analyzed using a statistical software called STATA. Before running the data for the regression analysis, panel unit root test was performed to see if data is stationary over time so that it can be used in estimating the variables in question. The value of the variables in the model throughout the research period is not constant; that means, there are some periods where there are spikes. These periods of ups and downs in value of economic variables are called shock in economic jargon. The notion behind testing for stationarity is to identify whether the effect of such shocks is permanent or transitory. If the effect of such shocks is temporary, the subsequent values of the variables will return to their long term equilibrium suggesting that the data is stable even with the presence of shocks. 4.1. Critics have also pointed out the fact that other countries with similar or more drastic health care programs are doing poorly or failing. Indeed, one study found that: The findings suggest that universal health care systems such as Australia s, with mixed public /private funding and delivery allowing for choice in heath care, may actually perpetuate health inequity. While such systems might ensure equity for patients with AMI, where guidelines for treatment are relatively well established, this is not the case for care of patients with angina, where high technology health care may be less urgent and more discretionary. Epistemology is all about knowledge. It is defined by Bonjour (2002) as the philosophical study of knowledge; its nature, its requirements and its limitations . Knowledge is about what you know. How you know what you know is dependent on your perceptions, your views, your reasoning and the reality of it. All these fall under different categories of; Intuitive knowledge, Authoritarian knowledge, Logical knowledge and Empirical knowledge as identified by epistemologists (Tee, 2004). The source of knowledge is very important because if there is any form of skepticism about the validity of the product of knowledge, one may take to the origin or source of the knowledge. This does not mean that certain sources of knowledge are unreliable. In fact, a single study or research work can employ the use of all the sources of knowledge but this depends on the researcher. Therefore, for a management research problem to be formulated, the chosen epistemological perspective has a great part to play because the identification of the problem and the definition of the problem have to be linked to the knowledge expected to yield them. As illustrated by Easterby Smith, Thorpe Jackson (2012), of all the various features of a project or a research work, epistemology is one of those that are progressively less visible but provides alongside with ontology and methodology the decisions and assumptions that the method and techniques of the projects depend on. The difference in what they believe is important because it may cause drastic changes in the future of our national parks. In reason number six of Lutzer book Seven Reasons Why You Can Trust The Bible , he points out to the fact that The Scriptures are said to be God s breathed (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV). Sola scriptura, the Scriptures alone , is above traditions or any religious interpretation . The Church of God has been called to teach accurately the Truth revealed in the Scriptures. Lutzer exposes that, for instance, Catholicism teaches the primacy of the church over the canon of Scripture; it believes that the official church is just as infallible as the Bible . • 41. Different Stages Of Cell Division 1) Cell division is typically explained through the progression of 4 distinct phases, G1, S, G2, and M, and can be tracked through CDK complex concentration ranges. CDKs are cyclin dependent kinases, which regulate the cell cycle of eukaryotic cells; as suggested by the name, protein kinases are an enzyme that is dependent on cyclin for the regulation of cell division through the addition of phosphate groups. The different stages of the cell cycle correlate with different levels of cyclin and act as a threshold that once reached, triggers a phase transition. For example, for a cell to move out of G2 phase into M phase, Cyclin B interacts with the CDK1 complex, and causes phosphorylation to stimulate the phase shift; however, if the stage is not complete, the whole process slows down to accommodate the discrepancy in CDK complexes (Nelson Education, figure 9.17, page 191). This can be caused by several things, such as the presence of damaged or deformed DNA, or externally through contact inhibition, where a delay in phase shift is caused by partial or incomplete contact of all cells. If there is only partial cell contact, contact inhibition will typically prevent progression past the G1 phase until there is complete cell contact, which can be reflected in variable levels of the CDK complex(Nelson Education, page 191). Overall, CDK regulates cell division through the combination of CDK and cyclin, the activation of protein via a phosphate group that triggers a phase change, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This suggests that the light sounding music and the dark sounding music are in fact symbols for day and night, which are also symbols for sanity and insanity. When Joseph is awake in the morning, he doesn t have dark thoughts and is sane, but at night, Joseph is insane and hears demonic voices. In addition, the voices are icons that represent evil and darkness. Later in the first lighter part, Joseph sings Why wont you let me go, Do I threaten all your plans, I m insignificant. You have no plans for me, I will set my soul on fire, what have I become, I m sorry (Joseph, Ode to Sleep). Both East Asia and the Middle East used first person point of view as well, although each having a different reasoning for doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
