New Generation Science Standards
Section Two
The second grade standard 2 LS4 1 of the New Generation Science Standards is found under the
discipline of Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity. The standard officially reads, Make
observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats (2 LS4
Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity, n.d.). Putting it more simply however, the standards asks
students to look with their eyes and observe, measure, and collect data. Students are meant to look at
plants and animals, of a particular area, and identify their characteristics; then students compare the
findings to animals and plants of another area. For the purposes of this assignment, the geographic
region in question is that of Lake Michigan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students need to be able to classify, distinguish, observe, and identify patterns to dispel the
misconception. Students must understand the notion of habitat and acknowledge that the differences in
physical characteristics, as well as other outlying facts, will impact the living organisms living in each
area. In terms of the science and engineering practices that will most relate to student discovery, the
most predominant are as follows. Students will need to ask questions; why are there some of this type
of plant or fish in this area but not in another? What does this plant and/or fish like about the area they
seem to be living in? What are all the different types of plants and fish living in each area? What are
some similarities and differences when comparing the different locations and the organisms living in
them? These are just a few questions students might ask. Students will then need to be able to plan and
carry out investigations to collect data and information to help answer their questions. When this is
done, students should be able to construct and argue for explanations from their empirical evidence, of
why such things are

Theoretical Perspective In Psychology
Without society, there cannot be a self (132). That said, the way one presents himself should be
examined in terms of the interplay between both the individual and the culture he is immersed in.
Symbolic statements used by the self, for example, are often constrained or shifted to convey a
meaning that aligns with the institution such a self belongs to. With this in mind, I observed the office
doors of the 3rd floor Psychology Department in the Brogden Psychology Building by taking photos
of such doors to examine how such statements can reflect one as an individual and as a member of a
subculture.
Perhaps some of the most fascinating office doors amongst the ones I observed were those covered in
humorous decor. One lab office door in particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, along with deductions made about the individuals, the observed symbolic statements can also be
examined through the lens of the subculture of the department as well. For example, although there
was an overall variety in content, the majority of the office doors observed contained
personal/humorous statements rather than informational/structured ones. Since these statements are
seen by other colleagues of the department, it is reasonable to assume that the department is playful in
nature. Similarly, many of the directions and lab doors were disorganized, exhibiting a uniform nature
of disarray rather than structured organization. Another form of content that was plentiful in numbers
was that of posters concerning mental health itself. This sentiment stresses passion for the department
s subculture itself, showcasing the department s pride in their research and its importance on society as
a whole. This department differs from others I ve seen in terms of personality. The unique additions of
humor and passion concerning the department set the psychology department apart from many

Essay on Predictable and Unpredictable Life Events
P5: Explain the influences of two predictable and two unpredictable major life events on the
development of an individual
A life event can change the direction of our lives, affecting our personal development. Some major
changes in life can be predicted and even chosen, while others may be unpredicted. Predictable life
events, such as starting school, going through puberty and retiring from work, often mark a transition
from one stage of life to another, acting as milestones in our personal development. Unpredictable life
events, such as sudden illness or injury, redundancy or the death of a friend or relative, occur
unexpectedly and are often associated with loss, but may also lead to positive change in our lives.

Emotional Development
Marriage is a very emotional life event. Marriage is based on love and affection and about two people
living their lives together. Marriage creates an emotionally fulfilling and intimate relationship and
enhances the relationship that is already there. Marriage allowed Cheryl s self esteem to be enhanced
as she became a whole new person, living a more mature way of life. The relationship started off very
strong and their intimacy seemed to on a high. On the day of Cheryl s wedding she will have

marriage if the relationship remains strong there emotions tend to stay in tact but on a smaller but
meaningful scale. A healthy marriage tends to enable emotions to be happy, although an

Fire Department Memo
The purpose of this memo is to discuss how I would improve my fire department, shift, working group
with the use of the management/leadership guidelines provided.
Summary
This memo will also review the pros of each guideline to change the department. The use of the
guideline can drastically change the success rate of how this fire department operates.
Discussion
There are 8 guidelines for management/ leadership which are participation, communication,
competence, satisfaction, reviews, coordination, norms, and goals. There are a variety of different
ways by using these guidelines that can improve this fire department. Such as, participation which can
greatly impact the outcome and service that this department provides. Also, participation can
encourage the crews to work together as a team to fulfill the mission statement that the department has
created. In fact, using participation to benefit the employees is a tremendous way to show the
community that your department is taking part of everything they can possibly handle, from
community events to a higher level of training to provide extra ... Show more content on

Without communication it will be nearly impossible for employees to complete the other 7 guidelines
and as a result of this not be able to improve the department. Ways that modify the department could
be by doing team building exercises. Communication is one of the top priorities of operating an
effective fire department. A simple training exercise can enhance each firefighter skill in
communicating, employees can always benefit from this no matter what age they are or how many
years they have been in the fire service. Next, reviewing items are important in the fire service
because this career is always changing and improving. Reviewing not only shows the department what
needs to be worked on, but it also demonstrated how well each employee, shift and the fire house
itself has

POlitical Campaign Advertising Essays
Since 1952, television has played a major role in presidential elections. Television allows candidates
to reach a broad number of people, and personalities, to help push along their campaigns. Campaigns
help the candidates just as much as the voters. The candidates get to be identified, and known to the
voters, and the voters get to hear and see how a specific candidate identifies with their needs and
wants. The best way to get this information out there is through the most used form of media,
television.
When candidates develop a plan of attack for campaign advertising, they tend to aim for at least four
types of commercials. One form or type of commercial is those which play on the fears of
countrymen. Fear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the 2004 election, President Bush s campaign ads showed him to be a leader and a strong
president in a time when leadership was needed. Kerry s ad showed him to be a people person, and a
person who connects with the citizen of this country.
Political parties also use ads that make there opponent out to be the bad guy, and often these ads come
from what their opponent has said in the past. Candidates use information from the past to display the
image that there opponent can not be trusted and will go back on his or her word. This is typically
called flip flopping . When candidates make there opponent out to be a flip flopper, the opponent is
making things worst for themselves. The Republican Party ran a series of ads that made Senator Kerry
look like a flip flopper, and I think the overall effective ness of those ads was a major factor in the
election, but Senator Kerry also stated his claims and told the voter how he fells on the very same
issues that the republican party made senator Kerry to look indecisive on.
Campaigns that are introducing a candidate to mainstream national coverage tend to run ads that will
show a candidates history and their background. These ads might list what some might call the
qualification needed to be in office. These ads usually show a record of good decision making,
leadership, honesty,

Persuasive Essay On The Great Bear Rainforest
Is your ideal vacation to a place where it s easy to forget skyscrapers exist? Or where crowded theme
parks and restaurant chains are non existent? Or where wildlife outnumbers people? If answered yes to
any of these then the Great Bear Rainforest would be a vacation dream come true. From fishing to
sightseeing to kayaking to hiking to eating local cuisine, this destination offers it all for those seeking
remote destinations.
The Great Bear Rainforest is located in British Columbia, Canada. It is remote yet easy to access by
car, plane, or ferry from Vancouver. It is a 12 14 hour drive or a 75 minute flight from Vancouver to
Bella Coola. By ferry the travel time depends on the ports and the stops made in the process. Bella
Coola is the main tourism hub for lodging and dining in the Great Bear Rainforest. Also located in
Bella Coola is the main visitor center , where visitors can learn more about what the forest has to offer,
the First Nations that inhabit it, and book activities to partake in. One option is to participate in
learning about one of the aboriginal tribes culture, art, and lifestyle______ But before it was a remote
tourist destination, it was threatened by logging companies hoping to make countless profits off of the
1,000 year old trees.
The Great Bear Rainforest is a thriving twenty one million acre forest. This ecosystem is the largest
temperate rainforest and represents a quarter of all coastal temperate rainforests worldwide.(CITE) In

Rome Was Different From The Steppes
Rome was different from the steppes.
For one, there were more trees. Dense forests dotted the landscape back east but here in the west they
rolled on for miles and miles, making it harder for the large horde to travel on horseback. At least the
roads helped. Romans were meticulous about their roads, and their insistence about the width made it
easier for riders to ride two by two, as well as for the large carts to pass through unscathed. Roads to
the east were merely dirt paths carved over time, little more than dirt impressions winding through a
sea of grass.
Although grateful for them, Attila didn t need the roads. Despite the trees he could have navigated his
men through the thick forests, though it would have admittedly taken ... Show more content on

It was a damning piece of parchment. Her brother had been sending legions to the east to stop the
encroaching Huns. He would not have allowed his sister to write the letter and if he had been
entertaining the idea of an alliance, then he would have written it himself.
This was treason.
Yet the idea was intriguing. Attila had been married once before, but both his wife and child were dead
and buried alongside the trails in the steppes. With no legitimate heir to his dynasty, there had already
been quarrels amongst the host as to who should step in if, and more importantly when, the king died.
Some suggested one of his acknowledged sons from the trail women. Though not born of a proper
union, they were still his blood. Others said that he should pick from his most trusted generals. Attila
had made no decision either way, however. In fact the inferred idea that he would not sire any more
children offended him. He was a young man, not a lecher too old to rise to the occasion... He could
still father a true heir.
And who better than a princess from the west, beautiful and young, and considering the ring that Attila
had wrapped around his neck with a bit of leather, who was also eager to become his wife?
So the decision was made. Attila chose from the main host a few hundred men to accompany him to
Rome. It was dangerous riding into the heart of the empire but with a smaller group travelling with
him, it would be easier to avoid patrols and outposts.

Purpose
The intention of the music video was to promote Chris Brown album called X . The music promo can
be viewed on the online such as YouTube, Vimeo, Vevo, Dailymotion and more. The music promo can
also be viewed on TV and radio. As I was watching the music video, I could not see any tie ins from

which also makes this music video a major label release.
Textual Analysis
The music genre is a mixture of R B and hip hop this can be identified by the heavy beat and the
rhythm. The message of the song is to show how unfaithful and untrustworthy females are. The
message even has a correlation with the song title called Loyal . In most of the scenes, Chris Brown
was surrounded by all these girls, which connotes the masculinity and dominance. The rapper Tyga

Persuasive Essay On Online Bullying
In today s progressive world, I believe it is better to consider online bullying in an immersed online
ethnographic research method, in order to fully understand how bullying is enacted in an online world.
It s also important to take this approach in order to understand what s misunderstood about online
bullying as a whole. Boyd (2010) states that if we are to know if online platforms act as a tool for
teenagers to perpetuate violence in the real world , we must look at what they are doing online. Boyd
finds that bullying does not dramatically go up or down when social media is introduced (Boyd 2015,
152). Digital spaces that are important in the lives of youth need to be understand both locally, and in
global contexts. Mallan, Ashford and Singh s (2010) article discusses iscapes as a way for todays
youth to hang out or communicate. The authors seek to answer the question, how do interactions
across iscapes affect the identity work carried out by today s youth. ( Mallan et al. 2010, 265).
Decheneaut et al. (2010) looks at an immersive ethnography in several online digital worlds. Bonilla
and Rosa state boldly that by using social media as their platform, subscribers can demand public
attention, and garner the attention from anthropologists by using hashtags (Bonilla et al. 2015, 5).
Technology changes how bullying is acted out, furthermore we consider online ethnographic
fieldwork in relationship to bullying as a real and viable part of anthropological studies.

Land Rights In Indigenous Australian History
Arguably one of the most notable cases conducted in the Australian High Court, Mabo and others v
Queensland (No2) (1992), or shortened to Mabo 2, holds prominent significance in Indigenous
Australian history as being the first legal recognition of land rights for Indigenous Peoples under the
common law system. Despite the court ruling in favour of Mabo, and additional legislation protecting
First Peoples native title claims, little buffer presently exists to prevent land claims from being
extinguished. The recent McGlade v Native Title Registrar (2017) decision stands to counter
Indigenous Peoples rights, as well as amendments to the Native Title Act 1993 Cth to impeach on

uncertainty created by [the McGlade decision] regarding area Indigenous Land Use Agreements 5.
Effectively, the amendments indicate previously standing legislation protecting Indigenous land rights

many old and new native title claims, some Indigenous Peoples may have passed on and will not be
able to complete the agreement to the required legal standard, rendering their claims invalid. With the

interested to see what we had. They loved the feeling of the foam paint, but quickly lost interest. The
children seemed to be more comfortable at the tables with the activities and art from the previous
times. Many of these children need consistency in their life and these Monday nights are probably that
one event and time that they get that consistency.

A Brief Note On Flamenco
Flamenco is a Spanish musical genre that embodies a complex musical and cultural tradition (New
World Encyclopedia). Although considered part of the culture of Spain in general, flamenco actually
originates from Andalusia (New World Encyclopedia). However, it is thought to be influenced by
many world cultures, including Latin American, Cuban and Jewish traditions. Flamenco dance and
music became popular in the early 19th century as café entertainment (wonderopolis). Flamenco is
more popular today both in Spain and abroad due to the new generation of flamenco performers who
have broadened flamenco s appeal internationally (Spanish fiesta, 2015). Flamenco is made up of
three parts: guitar playing ( guitarra ), song ( cante ) and dance ( baile ) (wonderopolis)
The song (cante) is the most important element of flamenco. Originally, flamenco was comprised of
purely cante, with hand clapping (palmas) (knuckle rapping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

began as an accompaniment for cante (the song) and, in Spain, has largely remained as such with the
role of the flamenco guitarist being chiefly that of a musician who knows how to musically support
the singers and dancers.
Flamenco dance is very captivating to watch as the dancers are very expressive. There are two basic

How Is Ethos Used In Advertising
There are millions of commercials. All of them have different audience and purpose. Advertisement
maker tries to convey audience to look at their point of view, which can be political, social or
convincing them to buy their product instead of others. According to the article Rhetoric and
Advertising more than 2,000 years ago the Aristotle came up with three different categories to
describe how people use rhetoric to persuade people: ethos, pathos and logos. Each of these terms
describes different way to try to reach an audience and convince them to agree with you. Pathos is an
appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional
response. Logos is an appeal to logic, and is a way of persuading an audience by reason. Ethos is an
appeal to ethics, and it is a means of convincing someone of the character or credibility of the
persuader. Many ad makers use 2 of 3 techniques in their ad. Commercial maker uses logos and ethos
a lot while making a commercial. For example, Luna commercial. Luna is a carpeting company who
installs new carpet in houses at the discounted prices. They always have a promotions going on which
includes get carpet in 2 rooms and get the 3rd one for free, by doing this they are attracting customers,

are two types of people in the world. What are they? . This question is quite easy to answer and refers
to human behavioural quirks and nature, Introverts and Extroverts. Surrounding the two vague types
are many stereotypes, but this will be addressing and explaining what it truly means to be an Introvert.
Introverts are typically more complex characters as a whole compared to Extroverts, the dynamics
between the two already a major difference. When a person hears Introvert they think Alone , Hates
People , Pessimist and Boring , whilst thinking Extroverts, on the other hand, as Happy , Friendly ,
Optimists , and Fun two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But when Introverts give themselves permission to seek the solitude they crave, life becomes lighter
and better. Social situations are more bearable. Even small talk is easier to endure when they ve
fortified themselves with solitude. Introverts are known for being quiet, another universal quirk.
Introverts are written economists suffering in a world of verbal hodgepodge. Unfortunately, this has
lead to awkward confrontations like Are you shy? or Why are you so quiet? . Now it s time to debunk
the typical Introvert myths. The most common one is that being Introverted means you re shy, and
often use the two words interchangeably. Both introverts and shy people tend to avoid socializing at
times, but they do so for different reasons. Introverts often stay on the sidelines at social events
because socializing drains their energy, whilst shy people tend to avoid going to unnecessary social
events at all because of their fear of the unknown. Instead of worrying about being drained, they re
concerned about making a mess of themselves or being rejected / judged. The next most common is
that Introverts are socially awkward. People assume that because you are Introverted, you don t know
how to behave or act socially. Many introverts have superior social skills. They are confident,
assertive, and interesting to talk to. People don t realize this because they assume everyone with good
social skills is an extrovert.

Reflection On Personal Development
When I evaluate my school year, many things come to mind. I think about friend. i think about the
highs and lows. I also think about how much I grew. My 7th grade year at CMS was full of concepts
learned, memorable experiences, and personal growth. Some concepts i learned were . In Mrs.sanchez
5th period class we learned about sexual reproduction with grasshoppers. We learned about the genes
and what sexual reproduction means. Sexual reproduction means a genetic material from 2 parents
combined to make a new organism. And also meiosis sperm an egg during chromosomes the pairs
separate. A fun memory I had these days we re working with my group and they would think it was
weird everytime they say sexual reproduction.we also learned that chromosomes theory of inheritance
genes are carried from parents to their offspring on chromosomes. A question me and my group had
was why do they travel in pairs? we never answered it. We also learned about mendel s work. Mendel
s work showed that the dominant alleles don t come up as present when another is present. Each
human has 23 chromosomes. And grasshoppers have 24 chromosomes which is just 12 pair. Some
more questions my group had was do other insects have more chromosomes? And can more than half
of a parent s chromosomes go to its offspring? And before we started we had to write down a question
and it was what is mendel s work? sutton hypothesize that chromosomes were the key to
understanding how offspring have traits similar to

Reading Comprehension As An Intermediate Level
Reading Comprehension Jennifer told me that she is able to understand only the basics of English, but
she is not able to understand big/difficult words. She does not like to read and she does not read too
often. Jennifer only reads when she needs to read in school, but she does not read outside school. As
far as I know, she is not doing well in the class and she is been getting F s since she started the school
year. Her tests scores have been very low and one reason it could be that she does not comprehend
everything that she is reading. Due to the low scores, I would also consider her reading
comprehension as an Intermediate level because she understands the basics.
Listening Comprehension Jennifer does not have a good listening comprehension since she does not
understand the lecture. The teacher always needs to give her time during class because she does not
understand all the material. She says that she understands better when she reads than when she is
listening. Again, I would consider that her listening comprehension level is Intermediate.
Informal, Every Day language From my point of view, Jennifer uses more informal language in her
every day life. I think that her academic English vocabulary is not complex. For instance,
Young people that use social media or any other type of activity such as texting, tagging, and
computer games tend to learn what is called the slang language. Many teenagers abbreviate words or
most of the time they make the words shorter.

Ministries Of The Church From A Biblical Standpoint
Ministries in the Church From a Biblical Standpoint
Eston Racey
THEO 202 001
March 10, 2017 The topic discussed in this paper is the doctrine of the ministries of the church. This
doctrine informs of the different services and resources performed or distributed by the church.
Whether being the church as a whole or on the local level of the community and the world. This topic,
though it may seem relatively simple on the surface, is very important. There are many different
interpretations and practices of how the church should or should not perform ministry. A clear
understanding of the surrounding people and culture, as well as biblical truth is required or chaos and
disunity will be the outcome. To begin a theological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that along with the leaders of the church being required to minister, but all believers in
Christ as well. This is seen clearly in Mathew 28:19 20, as Jesus is addressing His followers
instructing them to go out into the world and make disciples of Him. This command was not just in
regard s to the original twelve disciples but a command for all believers to come. Ministry has no
perfect formula or model that all churches or believers should follow. 1 Corinthians 12:4 6 in short
says, that their is one true God who has given everyone different abilities, gifts, and purposes. These
things allow each person to minister in different ways and spread His Word. So in essence not only is
everyone called to minister and share the gospel, but also everyone will share biblical truth in the way
God intend them to. Believers must allow God to work through them and take hold of the unique traits
He has gifted to each individual, so that His Word may be spread.
Throughout the different periods in church history: The Ancient Church (100 AD 590 AD), The
Medieval Church (590 1570 AD), The Reformation and Counter Reformation (1570 1648AD) and
The Modern Church (1648 present), the church has developed many different ways of interpreting
what scripture said and how to apply it to church ministry. The Ancient Church (100 590 AD), refers
to the era directly after Jesus crucifixion and ascension into Heaven. This time period was the
beginning of the first church and only

Female Athletes Essay
Sports Medicine
Female Athletes
In this report I will be exploring two conditions and their implications on female athletes. The
conditions I will be investigating in relation to female athletes are pregnancy and iron deficiency.
Pregnancy
Overview
Pregnancy, also known as gestation, is the term used to describe the period in which a fetus develops
inside a woman s womb or uterus (Definition from
https://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/pregnancy/conditioninfo/Pages/default.aspx). Pregnancy is
typically divided into three trimesters, the first is twelve (12) weeks, the second is fifteen(15) weeks,
the third is eleven (11) weeks. Totalling nine (9) months, this is commonly expressed as the term of
pregnancy.
Female athletes who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pregnant athletes should avoid exercise in hot conditions and for long durations. To avoid this the
athlete should drink water throughout the day in order to stay hydrated.
Sports Injuries can occur if the mother participates in a contact sport such as boxing, wrestling,
football and soccer, gymnastics, skiing, or any sport where contact levels are higher than that of
everyday life. At any stage during the pregnancy, any extreme pressure or force (or fall onto) to the
abdomen can damage the placenta. Later in the pregnancy, the fetus is no longer protected by the
pelvis, creating greater risk of damage by direct impact during sport.
Oxygen Deficiency can vary throughout pregnancy, it will be involved with the duration, type and
intensity that the athlete performs. This will increase the fetus heart rate, however if training occurs
regularly the fetus will become better conditioned and have the ability to adapt to the strain of
exercise. Irregular extreme exercise can be detrimental to the fetus.

Hyponatremia Case Study
Choice E is the best answer. The treatment of SIADH and the need for rapid correction of
hyponatremia depend on the degree of hyponatremia, whether the patient is symptomatic, and on
whether the hyponatremia is acute ( 48 h) or chronic. The patient is experiencing severe symptoms of
hyponatremia (unresponsive, Cheyne Stokes respirations). Usage of any or a combination of the
following is indicated: 3% hypertonic saline, loop diuretic with saline, vasopressin 2 receptor
antagonists (vaptans), and water restriction. Furosemide and other loop diuretics can be used to
increase the excretion of free water. The amount of excess water that must be removed to correct the
hyponatremia can be calculated using total body water (TBW). TBW equals body

Biomedical Research Synthesis Essay
The source Limits on Risks for Healthy Volunteers in Biomedical Research states that the Yellow
Fever Tests were meant to find the cause of the spread of Yellow Fever. This is important to this
argument because it shows that there are necessary risks in order to make good progress. Even though
the some of the volunteers died from Yellow Fever, it allowed scientists to find the vector (mosquitos).
This test is used by both sides to support their argument. Pro restriction people use it as a showing of
the inherent risk of biomedical testing, while anti restriction people use it as a showing of the results
outweighing the costs. A mix of both sides should be put in place. As stated in the last post, a
restriction such as Soft Paternalism should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, healthy people tend to not take the same risks as people who are in desperate need of the
product being tested. The only biomedical testing as of now, that should not be restricted from people
is DNA Microarrays. According to DNA Microarrays: a Powerful Genomic Tool for Biomedical and
Clinical Research, the microarrays can detect diseases and other deformities. Microarray technologies
are now used for comparing other genome features, among individuals and their tissues and cells,
(DNA Microarrays) This current use could be used to find new diseases that should not be present.
This would allow scientists to compare a sick person with a healthy person, and find exactly what is
wrong. What determines a healthy person would need to be debated and figured out. Scientists plan on
using this technology to quickly diagnose a disease and implement therapeutic interventions. Scientist,
by using various regression models such as the Kaplan Meier model (Figure 5), have been figuring out

Marshfield Fair Reflection
My 4 H story starts at the Marshfield Fair. I used to visit the fair every year, and dreamed about having
an animal like the big kids . Then, as I got older, I stopped visiting the fair. The idea slowly faded from
my mind. Then, when I was in fifth grade, ne of my friends came in wearing a shirt that had the 4 H
clover on it. When I asked her about it, she explained that 4 H members are the kids who bring the
animals to the Marshfield Fair. I instantly knew that I wanted to join 4 H.So when I was 12, I joined
the Muddy Buddy swine club. Ever since that first meeting, I realized that 4 H is my niche. I was
never really into sports. I tried everything from soccer to basketball, but I never felt the same passion
that I do for 4 H. I also came ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So far, I have started to meet my goals. part of my goal of placing well at the Marshfield Fair has
happened. This is presenting at Marshfield as the show has not happened yet. My project overall has
been pretty successful. I have reached my goal about learning more about swine because I can now
identify more breeds and diseases that I could not before. If I were to try my project again, I would
have spent even more time training my pig to trust me as the bond is good now but could be stronger.
Through my pig project, I have developed more independence. I can solve my own problems with the
pigs nw. I have also gained more intelligence and communication skills after teaching the public
during Weir River Farm visiting hour. I have also developed a skill of training pigs as my pig
cooperates now more than my pig from last year. A few people in particular have helped me to become
successful this year. First, Meg Connolly has helped to teach and take care of my pig. Also, Dean
Powers and Ava Barzowski have taught me more about swine and livestock. Finally, Jenn Moyer has
helped me as being my leader and helping with the paperwork and registering for the fair as well as

The Positives Of Colonialism
World Issues: Personal Opinion Essay
The Positives of Colonialism:
Colonialism has been portrayed as leaving negative impacts on countries, however many do not take
into consideration the positives effects of colonization. The people of Africa established a mainstream
religion to follow (Christianity), including new laws and a new political system. Countries bonded
with one another and signed agreements to prevent conflict between countries. It has benefited many
people that were illiterate; schools and education were given importance by the British, whether it was
education in India or Africa all of them were given universal education. Colonization has brought
many benefits to countries like Africa, Pakistan and India. Each country was given the opportunity to
shape themselves, to be able to stand up on their own with British aid. Colonialism moulded the
countries to what they are, and in return the British requested much less than the countries it
supported. With the help of the British, countries managed to stabilize their justice systems, boost their
economy, and introduce a new religion. People misunderstood the British because of the power they
had and assumed that if they were to take over their land, they would lose all control over their
country. However contradicting their common beliefs, countries remained to have control over their
colonies and Britain continued to do its job as a provider. The power Britain encompassed provided
countries with safety and

English For Academic Purpose Essay
English for Academic Purpose (EAP) has become an expanding discipline in higher education
worldwide. Universities are center of intellectual gathering for international scholars. The
development of EAP is stimulated by the internationalization of higher education and increasing
number of international courses taught in university around the world as well as the students mobility
to universities around the world. In addition , foreign students contributes to the economy of Western
countries , as an evidence UK receives up to 80 billion British pounds during 2013 ( NEF consulting ,
2013).
It entails preparing students to use English for higher education and it is one of the most common
forms of English for Specific Purpose (ESP). According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This focuses on the development of role by modeling to student how they can transfer the skills they
acquire in EGAP classes to enhance their understanding while reading the assigned textbooks ,
listening to lectures and writing essays. Defining EAP, it is highlighted that it refers to any English
teaching that relates to study purpose (Dudley Evans and St John 1998 highlighted that EAP is related
to teaching English communication skills in order to succeed study purpose and is primarily
concerned with communication skills required for studies . (ETIC 1975, as quoted in Jordan 1997: 1).
The role of the EAP tutor transcends the limited framework of language teaching, to involve
institutional awareness and a detailed knowledge of specialized discourse. An EAP tutor needs to
research and assist students in understanding and constructing texts in their disciplines and to actively
engage with the disciplines (Dudley Evans and St John 1998).
Johns and Price Machado, 2001classified ESP into two main areas namely English for Academic
Purposes (EAP) and English for Occupational Purposes. ). This is shown in Figure 1 . Figure 1.

  • 2. New Generation Science Standards Section Two The second grade standard 2 LS4 1 of the New Generation Science Standards is found under the discipline of Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity. The standard officially reads, Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats (2 LS4 Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity, n.d.). Putting it more simply however, the standards asks students to look with their eyes and observe, measure, and collect data. Students are meant to look at plants and animals, of a particular area, and identify their characteristics; then students compare the findings to animals and plants of another area. For the purposes of this assignment, the geographic region in question is that of Lake Michigan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Students need to be able to classify, distinguish, observe, and identify patterns to dispel the misconception. Students must understand the notion of habitat and acknowledge that the differences in physical characteristics, as well as other outlying facts, will impact the living organisms living in each area. In terms of the science and engineering practices that will most relate to student discovery, the most predominant are as follows. Students will need to ask questions; why are there some of this type of plant or fish in this area but not in another? What does this plant and/or fish like about the area they seem to be living in? What are all the different types of plants and fish living in each area? What are some similarities and differences when comparing the different locations and the organisms living in them? These are just a few questions students might ask. Students will then need to be able to plan and carry out investigations to collect data and information to help answer their questions. When this is done, students should be able to construct and argue for explanations from their empirical evidence, of why such things are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Theoretical Perspective In Psychology Without society, there cannot be a self (132). That said, the way one presents himself should be examined in terms of the interplay between both the individual and the culture he is immersed in. Symbolic statements used by the self, for example, are often constrained or shifted to convey a meaning that aligns with the institution such a self belongs to. With this in mind, I observed the office doors of the 3rd floor Psychology Department in the Brogden Psychology Building by taking photos of such doors to examine how such statements can reflect one as an individual and as a member of a subculture. Perhaps some of the most fascinating office doors amongst the ones I observed were those covered in humorous decor. One lab office door in particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, along with deductions made about the individuals, the observed symbolic statements can also be examined through the lens of the subculture of the department as well. For example, although there was an overall variety in content, the majority of the office doors observed contained personal/humorous statements rather than informational/structured ones. Since these statements are seen by other colleagues of the department, it is reasonable to assume that the department is playful in nature. Similarly, many of the directions and lab doors were disorganized, exhibiting a uniform nature of disarray rather than structured organization. Another form of content that was plentiful in numbers was that of posters concerning mental health itself. This sentiment stresses passion for the department s subculture itself, showcasing the department s pride in their research and its importance on society as a whole. This department differs from others I ve seen in terms of personality. The unique additions of humor and passion concerning the department set the psychology department apart from many ... • 6. POlitical Campaign Advertising Essays Since 1952, television has played a major role in presidential elections. Television allows candidates to reach a broad number of people, and personalities, to help push along their campaigns. Campaigns help the candidates just as much as the voters. The candidates get to be identified, and known to the voters, and the voters get to hear and see how a specific candidate identifies with their needs and wants. The best way to get this information out there is through the most used form of media, television. When candidates develop a plan of attack for campaign advertising, they tend to aim for at least four types of commercials. One form or type of commercial is those which play on the fears of countrymen. Fear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During the 2004 election, President Bush s campaign ads showed him to be a leader and a strong president in a time when leadership was needed. Kerry s ad showed him to be a people person, and a person who connects with the citizen of this country. Political parties also use ads that make there opponent out to be the bad guy, and often these ads come from what their opponent has said in the past. Candidates use information from the past to display the image that there opponent can not be trusted and will go back on his or her word. This is typically called flip flopping . When candidates make there opponent out to be a flip flopper, the opponent is making things worst for themselves. The Republican Party ran a series of ads that made Senator Kerry look like a flip flopper, and I think the overall effective ness of those ads was a major factor in the election, but Senator Kerry also stated his claims and told the voter how he fells on the very same issues that the republican party made senator Kerry to look indecisive on. • 7. Persuasive Essay On The Great Bear Rainforest Is your ideal vacation to a place where it s easy to forget skyscrapers exist? Or where crowded theme parks and restaurant chains are non existent? Or where wildlife outnumbers people? If answered yes to any of these then the Great Bear Rainforest would be a vacation dream come true. From fishing to sightseeing to kayaking to hiking to eating local cuisine, this destination offers it all for those seeking remote destinations. The Great Bear Rainforest is located in British Columbia, Canada. It is remote yet easy to access by car, plane, or ferry from Vancouver. It is a 12 14 hour drive or a 75 minute flight from Vancouver to Bella Coola. By ferry the travel time depends on the ports and the stops made in the process. Bella Coola is the main tourism hub for lodging and dining in the Great Bear Rainforest. Also located in Bella Coola is the main visitor center , where visitors can learn more about what the forest has to offer, the First Nations that inhabit it, and book activities to partake in. One option is to participate in learning about one of the aboriginal tribes culture, art, and lifestyle______ But before it was a remote tourist destination, it was threatened by logging companies hoping to make countless profits off of the 1,000 year old trees. Dense forests dotted the landscape back east but here in the west they rolled on for miles and miles, making it harder for the large horde to travel on horseback. At least the roads helped. Romans were meticulous about their roads, and their insistence about the width made it easier for riders to ride two by two, as well as for the large carts to pass through unscathed. Roads to the east were merely dirt paths carved over time, little more than dirt impressions winding through a sea of grass. Although grateful for them, Attila didn t need the roads. Her brother had been sending legions to the east to stop the encroaching Huns. He would not have allowed his sister to write the letter and if he had been entertaining the idea of an alliance, then he would have written it himself. This was treason. Yet the idea was intriguing. Attila had been married once before, but both his wife and child were dead and buried alongside the trails in the steppes. With no legitimate heir to his dynasty, there had already been quarrels amongst the host as to who should step in if, and more importantly when, the king died. Some suggested one of his acknowledged sons from the trail women. Though not born of a proper union, they were still his blood. Others said that he should pick from his most trusted generals. Attila had made no decision either way, however. In fact the inferred idea that he would not sire any more children offended him. He was a young man, not a lecher too old to rise to the occasion... He could still father a true heir. And who better than a princess from the west, beautiful and young, and considering the ring that Attila had wrapped around his neck with a bit of leather, who was also eager to become his wife? So the decision was made. Attila chose from the main host a few hundred men to accompany him to Rome. It was dangerous riding into the heart of the empire but with a smaller group travelling with him, it would be easier to avoid patrols and outposts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Persuasive Essay On Online Bullying In today s progressive world, I believe it is better to consider online bullying in an immersed online ethnographic research method, in order to fully understand how bullying is enacted in an online world. It s also important to take this approach in order to understand what s misunderstood about online bullying as a whole. Boyd (2010) states that if we are to know if online platforms act as a tool for teenagers to perpetuate violence in the real world , we must look at what they are doing online. Boyd finds that bullying does not dramatically go up or down when social media is introduced (Boyd 2015, 152). Digital spaces that are important in the lives of youth need to be understand both locally, and in global contexts. Mallan, Ashford and Singh s (2010) article discusses iscapes as a way for todays youth to hang out or communicate. The authors seek to answer the question, how do interactions across iscapes affect the identity work carried out by today s youth. ( Mallan et al. 2010, 265). Decheneaut et al. (2010) looks at an immersive ethnography in several online digital worlds. Bonilla and Rosa state boldly that by using social media as their platform, subscribers can demand public attention, and garner the attention from anthropologists by using hashtags (Bonilla et al. 2015, 5). Technology changes how bullying is acted out, furthermore we consider online ethnographic fieldwork in relationship to bullying as a real and viable part of anthropological studies. ... Land Rights In Indigenous Australian History Arguably one of the most notable cases conducted in the Australian High Court, Mabo and others v Queensland (No2) (1992), or shortened to Mabo 2, holds prominent significance in Indigenous Australian history as being the first legal recognition of land rights for Indigenous Peoples under the common law system. Despite the court ruling in favour of Mabo, and additional legislation protecting First Peoples native title claims, little buffer presently exists to prevent land claims from being extinguished. However, it is thought to be influenced by many world cultures, including Latin American, Cuban and Jewish traditions. Flamenco dance and music became popular in the early 19th century as café entertainment (wonderopolis). Flamenco is more popular today both in Spain and abroad due to the new generation of flamenco performers who have broadened flamenco s appeal internationally (Spanish fiesta, 2015). Flamenco guitars often have push pegs (akin to a violin) for tuning. The flamenco guitar began as an accompaniment for cante (the song) and, in Spain, has largely remained as such with the role of the flamenco guitarist being chiefly that of a musician who knows how to musically support the singers and dancers. • 19. How Is Ethos Used In Advertising There are millions of commercials. All of them have different audience and purpose. Advertisement maker tries to convey audience to look at their point of view, which can be political, social or convincing them to buy their product instead of others. According to the article Rhetoric and Advertising more than 2,000 years ago the Aristotle came up with three different categories to describe how people use rhetoric to persuade people: ethos, pathos and logos. Each of these terms describes different way to try to reach an audience and convince them to agree with you. Pathos is an appeal to emotion, and is a way of convincing an audience of an argument by creating an emotional response. Logos is an appeal to logic, and is a way of persuading an audience by reason. Ethos is an appeal to ethics, and it is a means of convincing someone of the character or credibility of the persuader. Many ad makers use 2 of 3 techniques in their ad. Commercial maker uses logos and ethos a lot while making a commercial. For example, Luna commercial. Luna is a carpeting company who installs new carpet in houses at the discounted prices. They always have a promotions going on which includes get carpet in 2 rooms and get the 3rd one for free, by doing this they are attracting customers, this is example of ethos. She felt embarrassed, like it was a secret that would enforce to others her negative qualities. Eventually, she began to accept the fact that migraines were simply something she would have to get used to. 2. In my opinion, Didion wrote this essay to people who have never had a migraine in an attempt to reveal the reality of dealing with them. She mentioned in the essay that people would tell her that she should just take a couple of aspirin , and that she was the one making herself sick. These claims only made her attacks worse. 3. What are they? . This question is quite easy to answer and refers to human behavioural quirks and nature, Introverts and Extroverts. Surrounding the two vague types are many stereotypes, but this will be addressing and explaining what it truly means to be an Introvert. Introverts are typically more complex characters as a whole compared to Extroverts, the dynamics between the two already a major difference. Even small talk is easier to endure when they ve fortified themselves with solitude. Introverts are known for being quiet, another universal quirk. Introverts are written economists suffering in a world of verbal hodgepodge. Unfortunately, this has lead to awkward confrontations like Are you shy? or Why are you so quiet? . Now it s time to debunk the typical Introvert myths. The most common one is that being Introverted means you re shy, and often use the two words interchangeably. Both introverts and shy people tend to avoid socializing at times, but they do so for different reasons. Introverts often stay on the sidelines at social events because socializing drains their energy, whilst shy people tend to avoid going to unnecessary social events at all because of their fear of the unknown. Instead of worrying about being drained, they re concerned about making a mess of themselves or being rejected / judged. The next most common is that Introverts are socially awkward. People assume that because you are Introverted, you don t know how to behave or act socially. Many introverts have superior social skills. They are confident, assertive, and interesting to talk to. People don t realize this because they assume everyone with good social skills is an extrovert. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My 7th grade year at CMS was full of concepts learned, memorable experiences, and personal growth. Some concepts i learned were . In Mrs.sanchez 5th period class we learned about sexual reproduction with grasshoppers. We learned about the genes and what sexual reproduction means. Sexual reproduction means a genetic material from 2 parents combined to make a new organism. And also meiosis sperm an egg during chromosomes the pairs separate. A fun memory I had these days we re working with my group and they would think it was weird everytime they say sexual reproduction.we also learned that chromosomes theory of inheritance genes are carried from parents to their offspring on chromosomes. A question me and my group had was why do they travel in pairs? we never answered it. We also learned about mendel s work. Mendel s work showed that the dominant alleles don t come up as present when another is present. Each human has 23 chromosomes. And grasshoppers have 24 chromosomes which is just 12 pair. Some more questions my group had was do other insects have more chromosomes? And can more than half of a parent s chromosomes go to its offspring? And before we started we had to write down a question and it was what is mendel s work? sutton hypothesize that chromosomes were the key to understanding how offspring have traits similar to ... Reading Comprehension As An Intermediate Level Reading Comprehension Jennifer told me that she is able to understand only the basics of English, but she is not able to understand big/difficult words. She does not like to read and she does not read too often. Jennifer only reads when she needs to read in school, but she does not read outside school. As far as I know, she is not doing well in the class and she is been getting F s since she started the school year. Her tests scores have been very low and one reason it could be that she does not comprehend everything that she is reading. Due to the low scores, I would also consider her reading comprehension as an Intermediate level because she understands the basics. Listening Comprehension Jennifer does not have a good listening comprehension since she does not understand the lecture. The teacher always needs to give her time during class because she does not understand all the material. She says that she understands better when she reads than when she is listening. Again, I would consider that her listening comprehension level is Intermediate. Informal, Every Day language From my point of view, Jennifer uses more informal language in her every day life. I think that her academic English vocabulary is not complex. For instance, Young people that use social media or any other type of activity such as texting, tagging, and computer games tend to learn what is called the slang language. Many teenagers abbreviate words or most of the time they make the words shorter. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ministries Of The Church From A Biblical Standpoint Ministries in the Church From a Biblical Standpoint Eston Racey THEO 202 001 March 10, 2017 The topic discussed in this paper is the doctrine of the ministries of the church. This doctrine informs of the different services and resources performed or distributed by the church. Whether being the church as a whole or on the local level of the community and the world. This topic, though it may seem relatively simple on the surface, is very important. There are many different interpretations and practices of how the church should or should not perform ministry. This is seen clearly in Mathew 28:19 20, as Jesus is addressing His followers instructing them to go out into the world and make disciples of Him. This command was not just in regard s to the original twelve disciples but a command for all believers to come. Ministry has no perfect formula or model that all churches or believers should follow. 1 Corinthians 12:4 6 in short says, that their is one true God who has given everyone different abilities, gifts, and purposes. These things allow each person to minister in different ways and spread His Word. So in essence not only is everyone called to minister and share the gospel, but also everyone will share biblical truth in the way God intend them to. Believers must allow God to work through them and take hold of the unique traits He has gifted to each individual, so that His Word may be spread. Throughout the different periods in church history: The Ancient Church (100 AD 590 AD), The Medieval Church (590 1570 AD), The Reformation and Counter Reformation (1570 1648AD) and The Modern Church (1648 present), the church has developed many different ways of interpreting what scripture said and how to apply it to church ministry. Pregnant athletes should avoid exercise in hot conditions and for long durations. To avoid this the athlete should drink water throughout the day in order to stay hydrated. Sports Injuries can occur if the mother participates in a contact sport such as boxing, wrestling, football and soccer, gymnastics, skiing, or any sport where contact levels are higher than that of everyday life. At any stage during the pregnancy, any extreme pressure or force (or fall onto) to the abdomen can damage the placenta. Later in the pregnancy, the fetus is no longer protected by the pelvis, creating greater risk of damage by direct impact during sport. Oxygen Deficiency can vary throughout pregnancy, it will be involved with the duration, type and intensity that the athlete performs. This will increase the fetus heart rate, however if training occurs regularly the fetus will become better conditioned and have the ability to adapt to the strain of exercise. Irregular extreme exercise can be detrimental to the fetus. https://www.active.com/women/articles/fitness training for pregnant athletes 876109?page=1 Iron Deficiency Overview

The Positives Of Colonialism World Issues: Personal Opinion Essay The Positives of Colonialism: Colonialism has been portrayed as leaving negative impacts on countries, however many do not take into consideration the positives effects of colonization. The people of Africa established a mainstream religion to follow (Christianity), including new laws and a new political system. Countries bonded with one another and signed agreements to prevent conflict between countries. It has benefited many people that were illiterate; schools and education were given importance by the British, whether it was education in India or Africa all of them were given universal education. Colonization has brought many benefits to countries like Africa, Pakistan and India. Each country was given the opportunity to shape themselves, to be able to stand up on their own with British aid. Colonialism moulded the countries to what they are, and in return the British requested much less than the countries it supported. With the help of the British, countries managed to stabilize their justice systems, boost their economy, and introduce a new religion. People misunderstood the British because of the power they had and assumed that if they were to take over their land, they would lose all control over their country. However contradicting their common beliefs, countries remained to have control over their colonies and Britain continued to do its job as a provider.
