How Does The Greater London Area Develop
The greater London area covers an area of approximately 1620 square KM. Technically speaking the
London area is divided into cities: Westminster and the city of London itself. The greater London
metropolitan area is home to approximately 12 million people. London is a highly multicultural city,
with 50 nationalities, and more than 300 languages are spoken. The site of London itself was settled
more than 2000 years ago by the Romans when they founded the city of londinium , however the
Romans left this land abandoned around 410 A.D. London is one of the world greatest centre of
consumption, luxury, leisure, art, museums and sport.
By the mid 1800 s London was the capital of the largest empire the world had ever known; the empire

The flow of capital, information, goods and services, and people are among the more readily measured
indicators of such links between large cities. Generally, there has been a net transfer of funds from the
worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. The decision makers directing these
flows are typically located in world cities, such as London, while these on whom the decision impacts
are often found in the old industrial centres of the developed world, where the cash is being redirected
form. This also has a major effect on those in the developing world, which is the areas to which capital
is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and high unemployment in the old manufacturing
centres of the developed world and factory openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the
developing world. There have been many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such
as London, one such attempt focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the
flows of information, knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global
services, these being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these
criteria London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC
and Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The global
hierarchy of cities is essentially a functional hierarchy ranging from 12 cities down to national
regional and local scales, with London generally considered at the centre of the hierarchy, being the
largest contributor to the global

Project Cat Pill Essay
Do you have a cat? Does it take medicine? If so, Project Cat Pill details the ongoing struggle of giving
your feline friend a tiny white medicine pill. In Project Cat Pill, the author uses high comedy through
puns and hyperboles to convey the idea that when you choose a pet, make sure it s the best one to fit
your lifestyle. The story represents a high comedy since you have to know a cats behavior. There are a
few examples of why it s high, In the book, the narrator says Chase the cat to the tree. (Pg 1) If you
didn t know cats could hop and jog, then the story would be unclear. Since the main character, the
narrator has to give his pet cat a pill. In conclusion, Project Cat Pill is a high comedy due to details
only clear to cat owners. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When he is chasing the cat around his house, it scratches him to a high extent. After this, Tell your
wife to drive you to the ER, (Pg 2) is said. This shows how insanely hard that the cat is trying to
escape the white pill. In doing so, apparently, your wife, not you, will drive to the ER due to the
extreme extent of the injury. This is all due to a minuscule white cylinder. In conclusion, the main
comedy used in the passage is wordplay, as this is seen many times. The story also uses hyperboles to
exaggerate the very stretched truth of cats. After the cat makes a daring escape once again, the room is
destroyed. This causes the passage to say, Replace the shattered figurines you bought on eBay. It
seems like they took only a quick mental note, as the cat is the center of the universe. The pill seems
to take importance over all your belongings that you bought for a lot of money. This is clearly an
exaggerated part of the story of the cat s great escapade. In conclusion, hyperboles are used to
exaggerate the furry felines role of hiding from the evil ridden

For the reason of restructuring employees are always stressful and their service quality fall down. The
restructuring process mainly detached the job rotation which is the key area to develop the employee
ability and get equal advantages of service quality as well as job satisfaction.
Frenkel et al. (1999) describe that, the great job satisfaction is being connected by the end appearance
of the work. This categorization can be useful where complaint management, for illustration, is
expected to stick to the previous, even as the technical help is being possible to be related with
concluding. In addition the beginning of differentiation and the task spelization between units can also
be talk about comparative to low satisfaction, required multiplicity and boredom as achievable push
factors. The additional issue apprehensions terms and conditions of worker at Tengo and it seems that
better Tengo and call centre s (other than pay) existing at other close by call centers. The restructuring
and content of morale is too likely to be important.
Tengo s payment method is higher than others call centre. However the work environment is not
friendly that s why employees are discouraged and dissatisfied with their job. The less favorable
facilitates includes work longer shift comparing nearby call center s employees, employees are
received few holidays and very few opportunity for training and development. Only payment is not

Embryonic Stem Cell Debate
Embryonic stem cell research has been a heated debate for upwards of 30 years due to the
controversial nature of extracting embryos for research purposes. Recently the ban for federal funding
to research embryos has been lifted; therefore, sparking even more debate on whether or not
embryonic stem cells research is ethical. Embryonic stem cell research is the extracting of embryos in
order to conduct research in cell repair and growth. There are two moral principles to choose between:
is it used to prevent or help suffering and pain, or should we respect the value of human life?
Embryonic stem cell research is considered murder by many. Also, with thousands of embryos
preserved in in vitro fertilization (IVF) clinics, it appears that there ... Show more content on

Linda Bevington, director of research for the Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity stated, A lot of
proponents of the stem cell research are saying these embryos are extras... so we might as well just
take their cells and create some therapies... however, it is possible to adopt those embryos (Robinson,
2002). Thirdly, human embryos are treated as mere research material, not as human objects deserving
respect (Wills, 2001, p. 115). The Nuremberg Code states that not only must the human subject give
consent, but also scientists are to protect the subject against injury, disability or death. The embryos
most certainly are not giving consent and are definitely not being protected. Lastly, embryonic stem
cells pose risks for patients because they have the tendency to form tumors and produce immune
rejection. A patient with Parkinson s disease received an injection of fetal brain tissue. Two years later,
the patient had passed. An autopsy discovered that the skin and hair tissue had filled the ventricles of
his brain, cutting off his breathing (Wills, 2001,

Upton Sinclairs The Jungle Essay
Several years before and after the turn the turn of the twentieth century, America experienced a large
influx of European immigration. These new citizens had come in search of the American dream of
success, bolstered by promise of good fortune. Instead they found themselves beaten into failure by
American industry. Upton Sinclair wanted to expose the cruelty and heartlessness endured by these
ordinary workers. He chose to represent the industrial world through the meatpacking industry, where
the rewards of progress were enjoyed only by the privileged, who exploited the powerless masses of
workers. The Jungle is a novel and a work of investigative journalism; its primary purpose was to
inform the general public about the dehumanization ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this message does not come across effectively because the average reader is more concerned
with the contamination surrounding Jurgis in the meatpacking plant:
There were the wool pluckers, whose hands went to pieces even sooner than the hands of the pickle
men. . . There were those who made the tins for the canned meat, and their hands too, were a maze of
cuts, and each cut represented a change for blood poisoning. . . as for the other men, who worked in
tank rooms full of steam, and in some of which there were open vats near the level of the floor, their
peculiar trouble was that they fell into the vats; and when they were fished out, there was never
enough of them left to be worth exhibiting sometimes they would be overlooked for days, till all but
the bones of them had gone out to the world a Durham s Pure Leaf Lard! (p.117)
There were no toilets, so human and rat excrement wound up in the meat, along with the rats
themselves. These unsanitary details moved readers far more than the injustices inflicted on the
workers. Other examples include the rechurning of rancid butter, the cutting of ice from polluted water
and the doctoring of milk with formaldehyde. The average consumer was shocked to know that the
pure beef was in fact contaminated and unfit for human consumption. Imagine

Bartleby, the Hero in Herman Melville’s Short Story...
Bartleby, The Hero in Herman Melville s short Story Bartleby the Scrivener In Herman Melville s
short story Bartleby the Scrivener, Bartleby is the hero. The reasons as to why Bartleby is considered
the hero of the story are that first, the character refuses to write in his job in the law office. He even
starves himself to death by refusing to eat, but in the end, the spirit of Bartleby still remains alive and
haunts the narrator. Throughout his life, the narrator remains haunted by the spiritual pride and
continues to struggle with the principles of morality and justice. Bartleby is also a hero because he not
only shows his courage towards confronting the society using his will power, but he also shapes the
conscience of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This aspect of Bartleby s heroism affects the story by developing a new theme to the story and
developing the character of the narrator who is part of the story as the boss to Bartleby. It develops the
theme of association between chronometrical time and the world of the spirits. It also changes the
character of the narrator because he develops a new attitude towards time, and the world of spirits,
which changes his normal way of belief. The narrator of the story becomes shocked when he discovers
that Bartleby, who only feeds on ginger nuts, has never left the office. This is actually the first time
that the narrator experiences the spiritual power that Bartleby possesses. The narrator is so much
business oriented that he only looks at the world in terms of profits. However, when he encounters this
aspect of the spirit of Bartleby, his attitude towards life changes. He begins appreciating the fact that
Bartleby deserves better treatment, not in the capitalist way. The narrator even sees what is a right, just
as an asset, but this perception is later changed by Bartleby s spirit: What earthly right have you to
stay here? Do you pay any rent? Do you pay my taxes? Or is this property yours? (Melville, 41). The
perception of the narrator, of everything including rights of Bartleby as assets prevents the narrator
from understanding the spiritual aspect of the pride in Bartleby. Although the narrator

The Pros And Cons Of Poverty In Russia
Who: The current population in Russia is 144.3 million people. Russia has about 23.4 million people
living in poverty. This number is up by 7.9 million from 2013 when the people living in poverty was
15.5 million. It should be noted that one U.S. dollar is equal to about 57.6005 rubles ( Putin, in pre
election year, pledges to erase spiralling poverty , 2017).
What:
The average wage for Russians is 39,253 rubles or $681.47 a month. Unfortunately, around 13.5 %
live on less than 10,000 rubles or $173.61 a month. In the year 2014 many
Russians fell into poverty (Putin, in pre election year, pledges to erase spiralling poverty , 2017). Low

... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where: Sadly, the poverty levels are widespread all over Russia. The smaller cities and villages were
hit harder than the bigger cities. An example is the city of Irkutsk. The poverty rate has steadily grown
over the years. As of January 2017, about 21% of the population lives in poverty compared to 13.4%
of the country s population. The smaller cities are hit harder with poverty than major cities because the
major cities generally have factories or other major sources of employment. In the smaller cities, many
citizens make considerably less than the citizens in major cities. For example, a teacher may only
make 16,500 rubles or $286.46 a month in a small city, but if she moves to Moscow she could easily
up to 32,000 rubles or $780 a month.
When:
While poverty has always been an issue in Russia the poverty levels started rising rapidly in 2014. In
2015 the ruble crashed against the dollar and sent inflation up into the double digits (Kottasova, 2017).
The government and banks are hopeful that in 2017 Russia will return to a slow growth. In 2016 the
economy was expected to shrink by 1.2% and again many people are hopeful that Russia will regrow
the economy in 2017 and beyond. Putin has said that the economy will not be fixed overnight and will
depend on harnessing digital technology and making structural changes to how the county is ran.
Why:
It is important to know why Russia s poverty levels matter to geography because while countries near
Russia could be

Holocaust Cause And Effect Essay
Elie Wiesel once said Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life
into one long night, seven times cursed and seven time sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never
shall I forget the faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turn into ash and smoke throughout the
night sky. ( W, Elile ) This is just one of the millions of victims of the Holocaust. The Holocaust was
responsible for the massacre of 11 million people, imprisoning millions of innocent people, inflicting
child labor, discrimination against race and religion, and caused the most murders ever recorded. The

It opened in spring of 1940, it was known as the largest Concentration Death Camp. It was located in
southern Poland. In the beginning, its purpose was to be used as a jail for anti Nazsi and politicians. At
the time it housed between 15,000 and 20,000 prisoners. However, once Hitler s Final Solution plan
became official, Auschwitz was turned into death camp. The Final Solution is a Nazi program created
by Adolf Hitler to kill Jews, artists, educators, gypsies, communists, handicapped and any other unfit
people living in his command during World War ll ( Define of Final Solution ). Auschwitz became the
ideal spot for a death camp because it was in the center of all German commanded countries and it
was surrounded by several other Concentration camps. Once the death camp was fully finished it
consisted of seven gas chamber, many crematory ovens, more than 40 smaller factories, and enough
housing to hold 90,000 prisoners. Once the prisoners would arrive at Auschwitz, they would be put
into gas chambers. In these gas chamber, they would be forced to remove their clothes and be shoved
into a large crowded room where they would be sealed in, and then exposed to a poison called Zyklon

The similarities between these two are most evident in their desire for freedom. Martin Luther King Jr.
wanted freedom from segregation and Plato wanted freedom from ignorance. They both wanted
justice, and knew that it was immoral to take deny another being justice. For example, Plato has said,

This is similar to what Martin Luther King Jr has also stated in Letters from Birmingham Jail , We

One who claims any gender other than male or female would be considered taboo or highly unusual
by our society. Biological sex is often thought to determine one s gender identity. Though sex and
gender align for the mass of our population, there is a minority group that does not feel that they
belong to either male or female genders. To understand gender fluidity, one must recognize that
sometimes a person s gender and sex do not align. A person may not feel that their biological sex
reflects who they are, they may feel uncomfortable with the expectations and roles placed on them due
to their sex. These gender roles are created by social expectations of our western society. Gender roles
are merely social constructs, and if one does not want to conform to societies conjectures placed on
them due to their biological sex, they should have the freedom to non conform.
We must protest and express our discontent with society in order to make a change. Martin Luther
King Jr. carefully and patiently explained his philosophy and what he wanted from the masses. He
wanted support and for everyone to understand his plan and what he wanted to get out of the protests.
This can be applied to the contemporary issue of opposing gender fluidity by comparing the issues and
what should be done about them. If gender advocates followed in the footsteps of Martin Luther King
Jr. and work with the delicacy that King did, we would be

Intersectionality And Morality
Intersectionality is a relevant theory for some gay, lesbian or bisexual individuals. Intersectionality
studies the relationships among multiple dimensions and modalities of social relationships and subject
formations (McCall, 2005). The theory argues, pursues and considers how gender, race, sexual
orientation and other categories of identity interact on many and often concurring levels of social
relationships, therefore allowing discrimination and social inequity. Intersectionality explains how the
notion of social injustice, such as racism, sexism, homophobia, and belief based bigotry such as
religion are not independent of one another; instead, they are interconnected, and thereby reflect
intersectionality in regards to social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every day in the United States, a young person, under the age of eighteen faces homelessness, and
most often it s because of others. In a report by The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, it was
noted that 26% of LGBTQ youth were kicked out of their homes when they came out (Ray, 2006).
The Urban Justice League reports numbers as high as 78% of LGBTQ youth that were removed from
or left their foster care placements because they were un welcoming or hostile towards their sexual
orientation and/or gender identity (Feinstein, Greenblatt, Hass, Kohn, Rana, 2001). The United States
is an independent, individualistic country; we prize the freedom of expression, but do we really? One
of the most significant, if not the most important, social structures is the family. Gay, lesbian and
bisexual individuals who are aware of their sexuality, must create an alternative self to present to
family and friends, especially if there is an understanding, verbalized or implicit, that homosexuality is
not tolerated, or simply wrong. Many gay, lesbian and bisexual men and women would rather go with
the flow, assimilate, not make waves, rather than to express their own gay identity, and risk ostracism.
When race is factored into the equation of homosexuality, it becomes more complicated. Taking a look
at Black and Latino cultures over the past ten to twenty years, there was an emergence of

Reliability Based Cost Model Essay
Reliability Based Cost Model Development As it is of December 2017, AWST contracts Romax for
wind farm Operation and Maintenance costs estimates. The motivation for contracting Romax instead
of performing an estimate ourselves is that Romax can do a better job than AWST due to a larger
database of failure modes and deeper expertise. Due to this reason, AWST does not have a model that
could have ingested the data even if it was available that is an additional barrier for in house cost
model. This memo will lay down the difficulties and the way to overcome them to create an in house

For a numerical implementation, this equation can be written in vector matrix form below. ψ(P ⃗
)=f^1 (P ⃗ )+∫_T▒〖ψ(P ⃗ )K((P ) ⃗,P ⃗ )d(P ) ⃗ 〗 ψ(P ⃗ )= event density for a state vector P at
time t. f^1 (P ⃗ ) = first state probability ψ(P ⃗ ) = event density at time t K((P ) ⃗,P ⃗ )= state
transition kernel. This equation looks complicated but it is based only on the Weibull failure
distribution and Markov matrices process which some people of our team are very familiar with.
Alternatively, a simple Monte Carlo simulation for two states up and down can be calculated using the
Weibull failure distribution described below. Developing an algorithm to process the time in
operating, failing, and failed condition for each of the components is the key element for the cost
modeling. This effort should go in parallel with obtaining the Weibull distributions for each of the
components described below. A feedback should be obtained from Brian Kramak and Stephen
Lightfoote to quantify the time and effort required for developing Markov Chain Monte Carlo
algorithm. Weibull Distribution Most of the failure modes follow a two parameter Weibull failure
distribution as shown below. F(t)=1 exp[ (t/η(X) )^β ] η(X)=characteristic life (scale parameter)
β=Weibull slope (shape parameter) β is obtained through Weibull Log fit from field data. η(X) is
obtained through fitting a Weibull Log Linear model (also known as Weibull regression or Weibull
proportional hazards).

Development Of A Business Case
Development of a Business Case
Businesses evolve and adjust over time, and considering upcoming growth and direction into the
business plan can be an effective way to plan for changes in the market, growing or slowing trends,
and new innovations or directions to take as the company grows (Hook, Stehn, Brege, 2015). Good
management entails setting detailed objectives and then tracking as well as ensuring consistent follow
up.
The main drive of a business plan is to express what the current business state is and what the future
state appear to be (Weissbrod, Bocken, 2017). Expounding the purpose and direction of your business

Deferred Maintenance Is Defined By Kaiser ( 2009 )
The topic of this paper is the use of public private partnerships to address deferred maintenance needs
on campus. Deferred maintenance is defined by Kaiser (2009) as maintenance work that has been
deferred on a planned or unplanned basis to a future budget cycle or postponed until funds are
available. This backlog of maintenance to physical plant is an issue for nearly all public higher
education institutions. Kaiser (1996) contends that deferred maintenance constitutes a genuine threat
to higher education institutions and their ability to accomplish their mission. The deteriorating
conditions of facilities can put universities at a disadvantage vis à vis other regional institutions in
regard to attracting and retaining students, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Several years of delays in repairs has led to deterioration in some campus buildings that has caused
permanent damage. In assessing the best way to address the issues with maintenance, it has been
determined that the most cost effective and efficient way to proceed is through reconstruction since
the cost of repairs will add up to be about equivalent to the cost to rebuild some structures.
Considering that the institution has suffered financial losses over the years in other areas due to
deferred maintenance, this change is relevant because it has the ability to save the university money
over a long period of time. In addition, it puts the institution in a position where it can be aesthetically
and operationally competitive with its opposition.
As a means to make a incremental changes, while also being intentional about the campus scheduled
maintenance plan, it has been decided that ten buildings will be contracted out to a building
maintenance company every five years. The objective of this plan is to relieve the institution of the
financial responsibilities of small and large building maintenance projects and avoid the liabilities
associated with maintenance of campus buildings temporarily. This allows the institution to fully focus
efforts on developing curriculum and contributing the students experience in other ways.
After a period of twenty years in which the buildings are managed by the contracted maintenance
company, the institution will resume

This Game Was Surely Created To Be An Educational Process
This game was surely created to be an educational process for students, and other people who want to
learn about the stock market and how it works. It helps people come to the realization that the stocks
they invest in need to be trending upward for them to make a profit as investors. Although you can
never be 100% safe because stocks fluctuate ever so often; you can make smart and logical
investments that give you the best chance to succeed in the stock market, and hopefully make a good
profit from the stocks you purchased. This can be done by researching stocks and not only checking
what they re currently at, but also what they have done in a 52 week time period so you can attempt to

But for others, they have invested large sums of money and lost it all. An example of growth investing
would be for an investor to invest in some sort of new technology. There is a certain method that
growth investors use, there are five different methods that value investors should spend time on. But
even though these methods are pretty much set in stone like a mathematical equation, the investor
must also compensate for the company s current situation. This meaning that they cannot just follow
this exact process and expect the outcome to be perfect, the investor will have to make some
adjustments. The first method is Five Year Earnings Figures, this method states that before all else, the
investor should figure out if the company they re investing in has been growing in the past, or is based
on annual revenue. The second method is Strong Projected Earnings Growth, this method states that a
company you re investing in should have a 10 12% minimum projected five year growth rate , and if
you can find anything higher than 10 12% like 15%, that is more ideal. Next there is Costs and
Revenue Control, in short this is finding out how management is maintaining margins and controlling
costs and revenues by comparing the company s current profit margins to its past margins and its
competition s profit margins. Next is ROE(return of investment), this states that using your assets

The Effect Of Sexual Assault On College Campuses
Introduction
College is where young women and men beginning one of the most biggest and exciting adventures.
The students typically move out and begin to experience adulthood for the first time and often the first
time one can begin to make their own decisions. This also a very stressful times for students as they
must deal with the stress of their school work, internships, living on their own, and in some cases deal
with the effects of sexual assault. Sexual assault on college campuses has been a problem for many
years; however, in the past several years, this issue has come to light. In this paper I will discuss
sexual assaults being reported and how the universities deal with the reported sexual assault, the
statistics colleges report for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The likelihood of universities doing this is small because a university does not want to single
themselves out for their problems of sexual assault, even though it is a problem for nearly all college
campuses. Colleges are also hesitant to admit there is a problem in fear of losing perspective students
and losing money from donors. College must become safe places where victims feel they are able to
report their assault and be protected while justice is served. When a student reports a sexual assault the
school must take the report seriously. Not taking the assault seriously, could lead to more sexual
assaults on campus from the same assaulter. According to Saul, of the New York Times, a study of
1,642 men at two different colleges was published in JAMA Pediatrics and found that while a larger
number of men admitted to behaviors that constituted rape, a smaller percentage of them, closer to 25
percent, were repeat offenders (Saul). In the case of one of Ms. Weckhorst s abuser, he went on to rape
another student in October of 2015. Not punishing the assaulter only leads to more sexual assaults.
Though many colleges have been outspoken about the problem of sexual assault, though their actions
typically do not support their words, they have begun to discusses ways to prevent sexual assault, such
as programs against sexual violence. According to Katherine Silbaugh her article, REACTIVE TO
PROACTIVE: TITLE IX S UNREALIZED CAPACITY TO PREVENT CAMPUS SEXUAL

violence: Safe Dates and the building level intervention of Shifting Boundaries. Both were developed
with middle/high school students but may provide useful models for the development of college

Skills Deduction Essay
THEORY OF SKILL ACQUISITION
BY HUBERT AND STUART DREYFUS
Sam Sedaei
One of the major aspects of traditional epistemology, and its manifestation in artificial intelligence
research and the philosophy of mind is its emphasis on the formal system of deduction and premises
and propositional knowledge. Hubert and Stuart Dreyfus argue that this formal system of deduction is
one of the problems with traditional epistemology, since much of our sense of judgment and the
process which we go through to form beliefs is not a matter of starting with premises and by plugging
them into a formula in order to deduct conclusions. But rather it is a gradual process that involves
being embodied in different ways and developing skills that would make it ... Show more content on

During the third stage, competence, the agent starts becoming personally involved with the task. He
starts to see more than one option from which he has to choose the best one. For instance, at some
point he realizes that he can either take away the opponent s knight, or he can give up his own knight
but take the opponent s queen. In the forth stage or proficiency stage, the performer, while intuitively
understanding his task, still thinks analytically about his actions. For instance, despite having so much
experience in chess, he might still have to think and consider alternative moves in critical situations by
predicting what the opponent is going to play next. The last stage is called expertise. Experts in
general know what to do based on mature understanding of the task. An expert has had so much
experience with the task that the skill of doing the task is a part of him.
He acts upon correct intuitions without analytically thinking about his every move. For instance in
chess, he has had so much experience playing that no matter what the arrangement of the chess pieces
are, it is highly likely that he has been in the same situation before and is able to decide what the right
move is in a real short amount of time. They also emphasize on the fact that practice is required for the

such as total team value, team rankings in groups such as team revenue, gate receipts, concessions,

The teams displayed are the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox, and the St. Louis Cardinals. I for
one believe that the In House designers put these three teams because two out of three of them are the

told Billy no the first time he asked her to marry him. She later said yes (Powell 1). A little while after
they were married, they had their first child. They had a little baby girl named Virginia Leftwich, but
everyone called her Gigi. Billy and Ruth ended up having five children in all. They had two other

it becomes very apparent that they differ in historical backgrounds, in their curatorial departments, in
the way in which they were founded and then funded and in the collections of art that they house. I
visited both museums and it was evident to me that they bore many differences, and at the same time,
they were also similar in some aspects. Historically, the Frick Collection was a private collection by

feeling of being at the house when it was up and running. What I noticed about the way the paintings
were displayed was that in each hallway, one painting in every room would appear right in front of
you, which also portrays the value of each of those paintings because of the way they were placed to
be seen. (2) Both museums are situated in wealthy areas of New York City and thus indicate that there
may be an association between the grandeur of museums and wealth or sophistication. Another aspect
that I found to be very interesting was the way in which each of the museums offered different
multimedia formats to facilitate the visitor s experience with the artwork in display. I noticed that both
museums offered applications for smartphones and tablets, free of charge, to assist the visitors with
getting the most possible out of the museum. Visiting a museum can be a very distracting task because
there is so much to see and without a plan or a navigating system that helps you make your way
towards the museum, it can be hard to gain something from your visit. Both apps are accessible to
most people and very easy to navigate through. These apps included audio guides, exhibition
information, calendars, events and so on. However, I noticed

Abuse Of Zoos For Animals
Zoos are Internment Camps for Animals As claimed in the LCA article, Animals in zoos are forced to
live in artificial, stressful, and downright boring conditions (User, Super). Evidence shows time to
time that animals are being affected by zoos. There are many things hidden behind the facilities, that
many people do not know about. The animals are being held in conditions that no animal should ever
live in. Even though some zoos do focus on helping the animals, they are not as beneficial to the
animal because they are not provided with the proper care and attention they need and zoos do not try
to fix their problems. Many zoo animals are not provided with the sufficient care and attention. There
have been various reports of abuse and neglection toward the animals. In some cases people were able
to capture videos of these terrible actions, and were able to use them as evidence to show the
authorities and audience who are not aware of these atrocious events occurring. In the

Analysis Of The Film Queen Of Katwe
Barrie Davenport once stated, Low self confidence isn t a life sentence. Self confidence can be
learned, practiced, and mastered just like any other skill. Once you master it, everything in your life
will change for the better. The movie Queen of Katwe, is directed by Mira Nair. Queen of Katwe was
released September 30, 2016 by Disney, the movie was based off the book Queen of Katwe by Tim
Crothers. The actors include, Phiona Mutesi played by Madian Nalwanga, Robert Katende played by

Phiona Mutesi is the main character, Phiona is a slum kid who works to become a chess master, while
struggling with certain difficulties that occur in life. The time period in which all of this happened was
in the 2009 2012 area. Throughout the movie Queen of Katwe, Phiona Mutesi shows the viewer
examples of how self belief is important to character development. Phiona Mutesi lives in the slums of
Katwe Uganda with her mother and her brothers. Phiona s family is very poor, they do not have a
steady place to live. Phiona s family lives in a house made of tarps and dirt floors, sometimes Phiona s
family was without a home Phiona Mutesi s father died when Phiona was only three years old, leaving
her mother and siblings with almost nothing. Phiona and her siblings helped their mother, Nakku

Tranformation of the Medical Industry Due to Advances in...
Over the years, medical industry has shaped and transformed due to the recent advance in technology.
It affects how we live and what we fear disease wise. With the incredible technology we have now we
ve been able to gather more research about ourselves, like our DNA and cells. We ve been able to
clone, create artificial organs, re write our traits and even predict what we might have in the cancer.
We can also make designer drugs, and how much better the market for them can get over time. With
technology advancing every day of our lives soon we d be able to create whole humans with different
functions born to do certain things, literally.
DNA is known as deoxyribonucleic acid. Deoxyribonucleic acid is a self replicating material that is
known to be in almost every living organism. DNA is shaped like a twisted double helix and is
composed of long strands; sugars, phosphate groups as well as nitrogenous bases. This is organized
into structures called chromosomes and placed within the nucleus of our cells. DNA contains our
genetic information needed for the production of our other cells productions.
The history of genetic research began with Gregor Mendel or the Father of Genetics . His study of
plants and reproduction brought interest to the study of genetics. Around the same time as Gregor had
conducted his studies, Friedrich Miescher discovered a substance called nuclein , he isolated a sample
of what we know now as DNA. After his findings, his pupil, Richard Altman,

Jack Beatty s Age Of Betrayal

way to bought government, (Beatty 192). Do you agree with Beatty s assertion of representative
government? If yes, how would you compare the political climate of the time to the current political
climate?
I agree with Beatty s claim in regards to the United States. Often times, elected officials would
streamline legislation for the wealthy because they would receive gifts in return. This is most clearly
seen through the Homestead Act and the distribution of land grants. In the chapter Vote Yourself a
Farm, Beaty states that in return for a modest land grant, for example, a Kansas road, spread $295,000

Representative government does not pave the way for a bought government, rather, it opens the door
and increases the likelihood of corruption. There are many representative governments around the
world that do work and are not as susceptible to special interests as the United States. For instance,
Canada. Canada has a representative government, but they do not face the same issues of corruption as
the United States. This is due to their campaign finance laws and the role contributions serve during a
campaign. In Canada, an individual may only contribute a maximum of $1,500 to a political candidate
or party. This in turn leads to an average campaign budget of roughly $100,000 in total. Campaign
budgets in the United States dwarf those of their Northern neighbor. As stated earlier, this will

The Economists Economic Theory Essay
Jovanny Ibarra
Mr.Nasr
Economics
2 December 2016 The Economists What is the best way to earn money. To entrust on someone else
like the government or yourself? Two economists, John Maynard Keynes and Friedrich von Hayek
had two contrasting views on how the government should handle the market. Keynes believe on the
government controlling the market while Hayek wanted the government to stay away from it. Hayek s
economic theory is right because it focuses on us as citizens to have responsibilities towards our
money. To be utilized fully in a decentralized market system with free competition and pricing.(1)
Then to be able to save money rather keeping money being spent from Keynes belief. First, Friedrich
Von Hayek was an economist born in Austria. His work was involved with business cycles, the term of
periods of growth and decay. Capital theory and monetary theory.(2) He believed that if the
government were to stay away from the market, then the business cycles would be removed or at least
won t be having recession. Then there also the problems governments had with the economy such as
depressions. If the citizens would had authority towards it, then the money would ve been spent in
different things such as today. U.S spending money on the military rather than education. Hayek
accused Keynes of insufficient attention to the nature of capital in production. (3) Meaning the labor

The Implementation Of Any Erp Package
The implementation of any ERP package is a matter of concern for the management of any enterprise,
and the same needs to be undertaken after a considerable amount of planning and with a long term an
analysis of the situation. Changing from an existing package and moving to a completely new package
involves considerable amount of efforts and shall have an effect on the entire organisation, and hence,
they need to be undertaken with thorough planning. The new package installed shall materially alter
the manner of working of the people in the enterprise, and shall replace all the existing operating
procedures. People require time to adjust to this, and to get along well with the new software. The
management while deciding to implement any such change, must analyse the current situation and
develop a strategy for implementation of the new package and only then the idea may be moved head,
and given a concrete form.
Considering the above introduction and a brief about the implementation of new software on a general
basis we shall discuss the matter of ERP implementation at Company
The management of Company, planned to implement a new ERP based system in the organisation, the
same was planned way back in 1996 with an initial horizon period of 4 years for the installation

that a six sided portable storage container can be a combustible or noncombustible enclosed storage
unit with varying dimensions ranging from small portable rental storage units to large freight
containers. The Technical Committee on Sprinkler System Discharge is unaware of fire tests, and no
design guidance is furnished. A table was also added as Table A.5.6, Examples of Commodities Not
Addressed by Classifications where one item listed is Storage Container Large container storage of
household goods. That applies to your scenario. To get you started, check with the client on the
commodities that will be stored inside the portable moving containers. Typically, household items
have a range of commodity classifications from Class I through expanded Group A plastics in the form
of foam cushions or mattresses. Since the commodities may vary, the worse case scenario of expanded
Group A plastics may be a starting point. The container storage would not qualify as rack storage and

The Decline Of The Middle Ages
The Middle Ages is a medieval time period in Western Europe that lasted from 500 to 1500 C.E. The
Middle Ages began as a result from the collapse of the Roman Empire which began in 31 BCE, and
fell in 476 C.E. In around 300 C.E. the emperor of the Rome divided the land for easier control. This
began the decline of Rome. The Western half of Rome fell to Barbarian invaders, while the eastern
half lived on as the Byzantine Empire. The Early Middle Ages began shortly after the western half
fell. After the Roman Empire lost its position as the center of power, Western Europe fell into a time
of chaos and warfare. There were a lot of attacks by Vikings, Magyars (hungarian nomads), and
Muslims. The invasions caused disorder, and suffering, and the government system developed into
feudalism. The High Middle Ages followed, the Early Middle Ages, and was the time period in
Western Europe from around the 11th century to the 13th. The Middle Ages are referred to as the Dark
Ages because of the disorder, hopelessness of the time. It is accurate to refer to the Middle Ages (500
1500) as a whole as a the Dark Ages .The Early Middle Ages meet the qualities of a dark age due to
the, lack of government, education, and dysfunctional economy. However, the high middle ages was a
time of improvement for these issues.
It is reasonable to characterize the Middle Ages as a dark age because the government in the Early
Middle Ages was unorganized, and ineffective before the Monarchy began

American Sniper Character Analysis
A good movie about a person s life, especially one that involves real life wars has to be convincing.
That means the actor must be compelling of who the character actually is, in addition to the scenes
being true to the actual event, place and time. I also believe the plot of the story is essential as a true
drama is one classified as the hero dying or making you feel sad. American Sniper , a drama and true
story about a legendary sniper and navy seal, Kris Kyle accomplishes the heartfelt experience of
family, death, commitment and the life of a true soldier. With his record of confirmed kills, he earned
the nickname The Legend by his team, on the other hand, the enemy wanted him dead. Directed by
Clint Eastwood, the actors, the set, themes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I really liked this as it made you realize what being directly in the war zone is like for a soldier. When
he has to make the decision to shoot a woman and a child to save American lives. The woman was his
first confirmed kill (Turan). He has flashbacks, which immediately got my attention and wanted to see
more. Differing from other war movies, like The Hurt Locker , the war veteran is as reckless solider.
Whereas, Cooper does a better job at making Kyle seem like a more welcoming character. There is no
question what his intentions are throughout the entire movie. While he struggles with home and
deployment, he gives an excellent performance on what it is really like to face decisions where there is
a sacrifice either way. His character really shines through and make anyone think about what goes
through a person s mind and what they have been through. For me, when he was in the tire shop and
the young man approached and recognized him, thanking him for saving his life, his voice, tone and
demeanor shifted...stuttering, his voice dropped and at a loss for words, coming across discourteous.
What I didn t like was the character Taya Kyle, played by Sienna Miller. I can t imagine the wife
would be unsupportive. Didn t really believe her

The Horror Film Genre
Horror films have been around for over 100 years, petrifying people and bringing their worst fears to
life but still they can t get enough of this sick and gory genre that is unbelievably entertaining and
captivating to the audience. Horror comes with many sub genres from your bloody slashers like Friday
the 13th to your Supernatural Horrors like The Exorcist, but in the end they all seem to do their job by
scaring you and leaving you with nightmares for weeks on end. Usually Horror s films have the same
character stereotypes such as the nerd, the jock, the slut, the virgin, the junky, the tough hero, the
unlikely hero and last but not least the masked murderer, but yet they all play their own part in the
making of these horrors movies whether it is the extremely slow walk the killer does but almost
always catches the victim, or the unwise decision to split up and investigate where the unusual noise is
coming from.
Every film uses pro filmic codes, despite of what genre it is. Location, lighting styles, props, costumes
and compositions are all used. In horrors location is a very big factor to the plot, as it contributes to
the storyline and without a certain location the viewer would get quite confused as to where it s set,
some locations that are frequently used are places like the woods, summer camps and just normal
homes. Props used can vary from many different items whether it is from the killer s life ending
weapons or something as simple as jewellery. Lightning styles

Risk Of Skin Cancer In Tanning Beds
Sharon Miller is the author of this article and is part of FDA. In this article she discusses how each
type of uv rays damage the skin and which uv ray is used in tanning beds. This is relevant to my topic
because it demonstrates the risk of skin cancer. Many people think tanning gives them a ¨healthy¨
glow, but in reality a tan is a sign on skin damage. UV B rays burn the top layer of skin resulting in a
sunburn in most cases. UV A rays burn into a deeper layer of the skin causing a rash to appear.
Tanning beds emit UV B rays and UV A rays, which is why you tend to get a sunburn before turning
dark. The UV B rays cause your body to emit more melanin, which is a pigment that darkens the skin.
This is why we get tan in the summer whether it

The Pros And Cons Of Ferrets
My ferrets dook, do the war dance, and skitter between my feet, and make my husband, kids, and I
smile. For my family, ferrets are excellent pets. My husband thinks they re better than dogs, and the
whole lot of us prefer ferrets to cats. Ferrets are very different from cats and dogs, however.Their
behavior, smell, motivations, and shape are all different from cats and dogs. They are classified as
exotic pets, and it is important that you consider the pros and cons of ferret parenthood before
adopting one of these wonderful weasels.
The differences between ferrets and other pets create the pros and cons of having a pet ferret
Intelligence: I hesitate to say that cats and dogs are smarter than ferrets, but I readily acknowledge that
ferrets have a significantly different kind of intelligence. Ferrets are pretty good problem solvers. As
an example, for Christmas one year, I put an apple in a stocking for my ferret. (The ferret liked to steal
apples and hide them. He didn t actually eat them.) The apple was just a tad smaller in diameter as the
stocking. Ernie put his head in the stocking, grabbed the apple, and pulled. It didn t work. After only
two tries he crawled out of the stocking and got on top of it. He pushed the apple out. ... Show more

Ferrets are intensely curious. They must know what is behind closed doors. They must know what is
behind a barrier. They need to study the backside of a dishwasher and the inside of a sofa. If a ferret
somehow manages to get in your pots and pans cabinet, don t be surprised to find them later in with
your silverware. This tenacity makes it difficult to ferret proof and make your house safe for your
beloved

Essay on Frank Lucas; American Gangster
Frank Lucas; American Gangster What is the one thing every person, white or black, rich or poor,
American or Hispanic, wants to have plenty of in their possession? If it s green, flimsy paper with
different values on the front then money is the answer. Whether it s 19th Century, 20th Century, or
21st Century, people work, steal, worship money. Human beings aren t always satisfied with the
amount of money they have, so they work harder, steal, rob, or cheat hoping to satisfy their money
obsession. This describes the efforts and actions of an American Gangster named Frank Lucas. Frank
did whatever it took to become rich to provide for his family, driving him to drug trafficking. Despite
being a murdering, lying, threat to the North East ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The same goes with Satan. He begins to realize that trying to be on top isn t going to be easy, for now
the thought/ Both of lost happiness and lasting pain/ Torments him. (1. 54 56). Both Frank Lucas and
Satan realizing there power thirst comes with major consequences they didn t expect. Both Satan and
Frank Lucas give the reader and audience an intrigue that is likeable. Frank Lucas has this way of
carrying himself as the man around town, no one messes with him but fear him. That s power that
people are gravitated towards to like, being the center of the world. Also this intrigue rubs off onto
Frank s brothers. They are canceling there dreams in there mind because they want what Frank has,
rich and fame. Satan also has that feature. The way he believes he can be equal to God makes you feel
his confidence. You are intrigued in his decision making and are curious to see if he succeeds. He also
is good at rubbing this business of his to other angels who end up following him. People look up to
them and want what they have. In the end, both Frank Lucas and Satan have the urge to be the most
powerful person, have it all, but don t succeed like they had hoped. Frank Lucas gets caught and put in
jail, and Satan has to keep wishing he could have equaled the Most High (1. 40). While they are both
hated by the world they live in,

Passion For Soccer
Soccer Did you know that soccer is the most famous sport in the world? Well, passion is soccer.
Soccer is a sport played normally 11 vs. 11 on a field or sometimes inside a building. Soccer isn t just
a sport, it is something that connects people from every corner, all around the world. Next, where did
my passion come from? My passion came from watching soccer games and with the help and
inspiration of my brothers in helping me know how to play soccer. Also, with the help of my friends
that helped me, just like my brothers. I really appreciate them in helping me and them taking time out
of their day to play with me and get better, day by day. I am passionate about soccer because, i ve been
playing soccer mostly my whole life and it s

Theseus In The Odyssey
Of all the Greek heroes, the greatest of all was the mighty and powerful Theseus. Theseus rose above
and beyond any other hero by using his intellect and not just superior strength. He refused to take the
easy path and instead took the path he felt was right. The myth of Theseus proves that intellect,
courage, and compassion can be superior to strength and brute force.
Theseus, unlike many of the Greek heroes, was not only the son of a god, but a mortal man as well.
Some versions of the myth claim that his dual paternity was caused by his mother having relations
with both Poseidon, god of the sea, and Aegeus, the king of Athens, in the same night. Other version
claim he was the son of either one or the other. Before Theseus was born, King Aegeus left a pair of
sandals and his sword in a hollow covered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not wanting him to perish in the labyrinth, Ariadne contacted Daedalus for a way out of the giant
maze. The solution was simple. All Theseus needed to do was attach a thread to the entrance of the
labyrinth and unwind it as he ventured farther inside. Ariadne offered one condition for the solution:
Theseus must take her back with him to Athens and make her his wife. He agreed and bravely went
forth to challenge the Minotaur using only his mind and raw strength. Theseus successfully defeated
the Minotaur and ended the tribute for good. He, Ariadne, and the rest of the tributes returned to the
ship on which they came to journey back to Athens. Ariadne never made it to Athens. In some
versions of the myth Theseus deserts her while in others she dies of sea sickness. For whatever reason,
she did not continue the journey and Theseus forgot to hoist up the white sail when entering Athens.
The king, seeing only the black sail and not knowing his son was indeed alive and well, threw himself
off the palace and into the sea grieving for

escape above the 80th floor of the tower (contained 110 floors), the road to escape was impossible.
New York got hectic. Many believed it was a mistake, as others questioned whether or not it was real
or not.As the people began to evacuate the tower, news began to report on it and began to televise live
images of the accident. Then 18 minutes, after the first attack, United Airlines 175 appeared in the sky.
It turned to the south tower and collided with the tower right near the 60th floor. After a massive
Explosion, debris began to fall on the builds and surroundings around the towers. American and

AIDS In Cry Freedom, Malcolm X, And Cry Freedom
Whether it is Tom Hanks from Forrest Gump or Julia Roberts from Erin Brockovich, actors and
actresses have the power to leave movie goers thinking. Along with the writer, director, producer and
about a hundred others, actors have some impact on what viewers feel. Denzel Washington is an actor
who is constantly involved in influential movies. Denzel Washington s roles in dissenting voice films
like Philadelphia, Fences, Malcolm X, and Cry Freedom leave viewers discussing and emotionally
reacting to opinions that differ from the majority. Philadelphia introduces justice and the social issues,

highlights discrimination and delivers a message on the meaning of life and all that comes with it.
Malcolm X gives viewers a look at politics, transformations, and discrimination while Cry Freedom
sheds light on the political corruption, friendship, and race relations in South Africa. In 1993,
Philadelphia was released starring Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks. Washington played a
homophobic lawyer, Joe Miller who, unwilling at first, eventually helps a man, Andrew Beckett

Technically speaking the London area is divided into cities: Westminster and the city of London itself. The greater London metropolitan area is home to approximately 12 million people. London is a highly multicultural city, with 50 nationalities, and more than 300 languages are spoken. The site of London itself was settled more than 2000 years ago by the Romans when they founded the city of londinium , however the Romans left this land abandoned around 410 A.D. The flow of capital, information, goods and services, and people are among the more readily measured indicators of such links between large cities. Generally, there has been a net transfer of funds from the worlds developed economies to countries in the developed world. The decision makers directing these flows are typically located in world cities, such as London, while these on whom the decision impacts are often found in the old industrial centres of the developed world, where the cash is being redirected form. This also has a major effect on those in the developing world, which is the areas to which capital is being directed. This resulted in factory closures and high unemployment in the old manufacturing centres of the developed world and factory openings and job creation in the low cost economies of the developing world. There have been many attempts to compute the linkages between global cites such as London, one such attempt focuses on the concept connectivity. This is essentially a measure of the flows of information, knowledge, and direction between the international office networks of global services, these being the most basic agents of the formation of the world city network. Based on these criteria London s strongest links are with North American cities such as New York, Washington DC and Chicago, as well as some Asian cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. The global hierarchy of cities is essentially a functional hierarchy ranging from 12 cities down to national regional and local scales, with London generally considered at the centre of the hierarchy, being the largest contributor to the global ... • 3. Project Cat Pill Essay Do you have a cat? Does it take medicine? If so, Project Cat Pill details the ongoing struggle of giving your feline friend a tiny white medicine pill. In Project Cat Pill, the author uses high comedy through puns and hyperboles to convey the idea that when you choose a pet, make sure it s the best one to fit your lifestyle. The story represents a high comedy since you have to know a cats behavior. There are a few examples of why it s high, In the book, the narrator says Chase the cat to the tree. (Pg 1) If you didn t know cats could hop and jog, then the story would be unclear. Since the main character, the narrator has to give his pet cat a pill. When he is chasing the cat around his house, it scratches him to a high extent. After this, Tell your wife to drive you to the ER, (Pg 2) is said. This shows how insanely hard that the cat is trying to escape the white pill. In doing so, apparently, your wife, not you, will drive to the ER due to the extreme extent of the injury. This is all due to a minuscule white cylinder. In conclusion, the main comedy used in the passage is wordplay, as this is seen many times. The story also uses hyperboles to exaggerate the very stretched truth of cats. After the cat makes a daring escape once again, the room is destroyed. This causes the passage to say, Replace the shattered figurines you bought on eBay. It seems like they took only a quick mental note, as the cat is the center of the universe. The pill seems to take importance over all your belongings that you bought for a lot of money. This is clearly an exaggerated part of the story of the cat s great escapade. In conclusion, hyperboles are used to exaggerate the furry felines role of hiding from the evil ridden ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Recently the ban for federal funding to research embryos has been lifted; therefore, sparking even more debate on whether or not embryonic stem cells research is ethical. Embryonic stem cell research is the extracting of embryos in order to conduct research in cell repair and growth. There are two moral principles to choose between: is it used to prevent or help suffering and pain, or should we respect the value of human life? Thirdly, human embryos are treated as mere research material, not as human objects deserving respect (Wills, 2001, p. 115). The Nuremberg Code states that not only must the human subject give consent, but also scientists are to protect the subject against injury, disability or death. The embryos most certainly are not giving consent and are definitely not being protected. Lastly, embryonic stem cells pose risks for patients because they have the tendency to form tumors and produce immune rejection. These new citizens had come in search of the American dream of success, bolstered by promise of good fortune. Instead they found themselves beaten into failure by American industry. Upton Sinclair wanted to expose the cruelty and heartlessness endured by these ordinary workers. Bartleby, The Hero in Herman Melville s short Story Bartleby the Scrivener In Herman Melville s short story Bartleby the Scrivener, Bartleby is the hero. The reasons as to why Bartleby is considered the hero of the story are that first, the character refuses to write in his job in the law office. He even starves himself to death by refusing to eat, but in the end, the spirit of Bartleby still remains alive and haunts the narrator. Throughout his life, the narrator remains haunted by the spiritual pride and continues to struggle with the principles of morality and justice. This aspect of Bartleby s heroism affects the story by developing a new theme to the story and developing the character of the narrator who is part of the story as the boss to Bartleby. It develops the theme of association between chronometrical time and the world of the spirits. It also changes the character of the narrator because he develops a new attitude towards time, and the world of spirits, which changes his normal way of belief. The narrator of the story becomes shocked when he discovers that Bartleby, who only feeds on ginger nuts, has never left the office. This is actually the first time that the narrator experiences the spiritual power that Bartleby possesses. The narrator is so much business oriented that he only looks at the world in terms of profits. However, when he encounters this aspect of the spirit of Bartleby, his attitude towards life changes. He begins appreciating the fact that Bartleby deserves better treatment, not in the capitalist way. The narrator even sees what is a right, just as an asset, but this perception is later changed by Bartleby s spirit: What earthly right have you to stay here? Do you pay any rent? Do you pay my taxes? Or is this property yours? (Melville, 41). The perception of the narrator, of everything including rights of Bartleby as assets prevents the narrator from understanding the spiritual aspect of the pride in Bartleby. Although the narrator ... The poverty rate has steadily grown over the years. As of January 2017, about 21% of the population lives in poverty compared to 13.4% of the country s population. The smaller cities are hit harder with poverty than major cities because the major cities generally have factories or other major sources of employment. In the smaller cities, many citizens make considerably less than the citizens in major cities. For example, a teacher may only make 16,500 rubles or $286.46 a month in a small city, but if she moves to Moscow she could easily up to 32,000 rubles or $780 a month. When: While poverty has always been an issue in Russia the poverty levels started rising rapidly in 2014. In 2015 the ruble crashed against the dollar and sent inflation up into the double digits (Kottasova, 2017). The government and banks are hopeful that in 2017 Russia will return to a slow growth. In 2016 the economy was expected to shrink by 1.2% and again many people are hopeful that Russia will regrow the economy in 2017 and beyond. Putin has said that the economy will not be fixed overnight and will depend on harnessing digital technology and making structural changes to how the county is ran. Biological sex is often thought to determine one s gender identity. Though sex and gender align for the mass of our population, there is a minority group that does not feel that they belong to either male or female genders. To understand gender fluidity, one must recognize that sometimes a person s gender and sex do not align. A person may not feel that their biological sex reflects who they are, they may feel uncomfortable with the expectations and roles placed on them due to their sex. These gender roles are created by social expectations of our western society. Gender roles are merely social constructs, and if one does not want to conform to societies conjectures placed on them due to their biological sex, they should have the freedom to non conform. We must protest and express our discontent with society in order to make a change. Martin Luther King Jr. carefully and patiently explained his philosophy and what he wanted from the masses. He wanted support and for everyone to understand his plan and what he wanted to get out of the protests. Intersectionality studies the relationships among multiple dimensions and modalities of social relationships and subject formations (McCall, 2005). The Urban Justice League reports numbers as high as 78% of LGBTQ youth that were removed from or left their foster care placements because they were un welcoming or hostile towards their sexual orientation and/or gender identity (Feinstein, Greenblatt, Hass, Kohn, Rana, 2001). The United States is an independent, individualistic country; we prize the freedom of expression, but do we really? One of the most significant, if not the most important, social structures is the family. Gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals who are aware of their sexuality, must create an alternative self to present to family and friends, especially if there is an understanding, verbalized or implicit, that homosexuality is not tolerated, or simply wrong. Many gay, lesbian and bisexual men and women would rather go with the flow, assimilate, not make waves, rather than to express their own gay identity, and risk ostracism. When race is factored into the equation of homosexuality, it becomes more complicated. Taking a look at Black and Latino cultures over the past ten to twenty years, there was an emergence of ... This equation looks complicated but it is based only on the Weibull failure distribution and Markov matrices process which some people of our team are very familiar with. Alternatively, a simple Monte Carlo simulation for two states up and down can be calculated using the Weibull failure distribution described below. Developing an algorithm to process the time in operating, failing, and failed condition for each of the components is the key element for the cost modeling. This effort should go in parallel with obtaining the Weibull distributions for each of the components described below. A feedback should be obtained from Brian Kramak and Stephen Lightfoote to quantify the time and effort required for developing Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm. Deferred maintenance is defined by Kaiser (2009) as maintenance work that has been deferred on a planned or unplanned basis to a future budget cycle or postponed until funds are available. This backlog of maintenance to physical plant is an issue for nearly all public higher education institutions. Kaiser (1996) contends that deferred maintenance constitutes a genuine threat to higher education institutions and their ability to accomplish their mission. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Several years of delays in repairs has led to deterioration in some campus buildings that has caused permanent damage. In assessing the best way to address the issues with maintenance, it has been determined that the most cost effective and efficient way to proceed is through reconstruction since the cost of repairs will add up to be about equivalent to the cost to rebuild some structures. Considering that the institution has suffered financial losses over the years in other areas due to deferred maintenance, this change is relevant because it has the ability to save the university money over a long period of time. In addition, it puts the institution in a position where it can be aesthetically and operationally competitive with its opposition. As a means to make a incremental changes, while also being intentional about the campus scheduled maintenance plan, it has been decided that ten buildings will be contracted out to a building maintenance company every five years. The objective of this plan is to relieve the institution of the financial responsibilities of small and large building maintenance projects and avoid the liabilities associated with maintenance of campus buildings temporarily. First, A.3.9.1 indicates that a six sided portable storage container can be a combustible or noncombustible enclosed storage unit with varying dimensions ranging from small portable rental storage units to large freight containers. The Technical Committee on Sprinkler System Discharge is unaware of fire tests, and no design guidance is furnished. A table was also added as Table A.5.6, Examples of Commodities Not Addressed by Classifications where one item listed is Storage Container Large container storage of household goods. That applies to your scenario. To get you started, check with the client on the commodities that will be stored inside the portable moving containers. Typically, household items have a range of commodity classifications from Class I through expanded Group A plastics in the form of foam cushions or mattresses. Since the commodities may vary, the worse case scenario of expanded Group A plastics may be a starting point. The container storage would not qualify as rack storage and would match closer to solid pile storage arrangement. • 37. The Decline Of The Middle Ages The Middle Ages is a medieval time period in Western Europe that lasted from 500 to 1500 C.E. The Middle Ages began as a result from the collapse of the Roman Empire which began in 31 BCE, and fell in 476 C.E. In around 300 C.E. the emperor of the Rome divided the land for easier control. This began the decline of Rome. The Western half of Rome fell to Barbarian invaders, while the eastern half lived on as the Byzantine Empire. The Early Middle Ages began shortly after the western half fell. After the Roman Empire lost its position as the center of power, Western Europe fell into a time of chaos and warfare. There were a lot of attacks by Vikings, Magyars (hungarian nomads), and Muslims. The invasions caused disorder, and suffering, and the government system developed into feudalism. The High Middle Ages followed, the Early Middle Ages, and was the time period in Western Europe from around the 11th century to the 13th. The Middle Ages are referred to as the Dark Ages because of the disorder, hopelessness of the time. It is accurate to refer to the Middle Ages (500 1500) as a whole as a the Dark Ages .The Early Middle Ages meet the qualities of a dark age due to the, lack of government, education, and dysfunctional economy. However, the high middle ages was a time of improvement for these issues. It is reasonable to characterize the Middle Ages as a dark age because the government in the Early Middle Ages was unorganized, and ineffective before the Monarchy began ... • 38. American Sniper Character Analysis A good movie about a person s life, especially one that involves real life wars has to be convincing. That means the actor must be compelling of who the character actually is, in addition to the scenes being true to the actual event, place and time. I also believe the plot of the story is essential as a true drama is one classified as the hero dying or making you feel sad. American Sniper , a drama and true story about a legendary sniper and navy seal, Kris Kyle accomplishes the heartfelt experience of family, death, commitment and the life of a true soldier. With his record of confirmed kills, he earned the nickname The Legend by his team, on the other hand, the enemy wanted him dead. Directed by Clint Eastwood, the actors, the set, themes, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I really liked this as it made you realize what being directly in the war zone is like for a soldier. When he has to make the decision to shoot a woman and a child to save American lives. The woman was his first confirmed kill (Turan). He has flashbacks, which immediately got my attention and wanted to see more. Differing from other war movies, like The Hurt Locker , the war veteran is as reckless solider. Whereas, Cooper does a better job at making Kyle seem like a more welcoming character. There is no question what his intentions are throughout the entire movie. While he struggles with home and deployment, he gives an excellent performance on what it is really like to face decisions where there is a sacrifice either way. His character really shines through and make anyone think about what goes through a person s mind and what they have been through. For me, when he was in the tire shop and the young man approached and recognized him, thanking him for saving his life, his voice, tone and demeanor shifted...stuttering, his voice dropped and at a loss for words, coming across discourteous. What I didn t like was the character Taya Kyle, played by Sienna Miller. I can t imagine the wife would be unsupportive. Didn t really believe her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. The Horror Film Genre Horror films have been around for over 100 years, petrifying people and bringing their worst fears to life but still they can t get enough of this sick and gory genre that is unbelievably entertaining and captivating to the audience. Horror comes with many sub genres from your bloody slashers like Friday the 13th to your Supernatural Horrors like The Exorcist, but in the end they all seem to do their job by scaring you and leaving you with nightmares for weeks on end. Usually Horror s films have the same character stereotypes such as the nerd, the jock, the slut, the virgin, the junky, the tough hero, the unlikely hero and last but not least the masked murderer, but yet they all play their own part in the making of these horrors movies whether it is the extremely slow walk the killer does but almost always catches the victim, or the unwise decision to split up and investigate where the unusual noise is coming from. Every film uses pro filmic codes, despite of what genre it is. Location, lighting styles, props, costumes and compositions are all used. In horrors location is a very big factor to the plot, as it contributes to the storyline and without a certain location the viewer would get quite confused as to where it s set, some locations that are frequently used are places like the woods, summer camps and just normal homes. Props used can vary from many different items whether it is from the killer s life ending weapons or something as simple as jewellery. Lightning styles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Risk Of Skin Cancer In Tanning Beds Sharon Miller is the author of this article and is part of FDA. In this article she discusses how each type of uv rays damage the skin and which uv ray is used in tanning beds. This is relevant to my topic because it demonstrates the risk of skin cancer. Many people think tanning gives them a ¨healthy¨ glow, but in reality a tan is a sign on skin damage. UV B rays burn the top layer of skin resulting in a sunburn in most cases. UV A rays burn into a deeper layer of the skin causing a rash to appear. Tanning beds emit UV B rays and UV A rays, which is why you tend to get a sunburn before turning dark. The UV B rays cause your body to emit more melanin, which is a pigment that darkens the skin. This is why we get tan in the summer whether it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My husband thinks they re better than dogs, and the whole lot of us prefer ferrets to cats. Ferrets are very different from cats and dogs, however.Their behavior, smell, motivations, and shape are all different from cats and dogs. They are classified as exotic pets, and it is important that you consider the pros and cons of ferret parenthood before adopting one of these wonderful weasels. The differences between ferrets and other pets create the pros and cons of having a pet ferret Intelligence: I hesitate to say that cats and dogs are smarter than ferrets, but I readily acknowledge that ferrets have a significantly different kind of intelligence. Ferrets are pretty good problem solvers. As an example, for Christmas one year, I put an apple in a stocking for my ferret. (The ferret liked to steal apples and hide them. He didn t actually eat them.) The apple was just a tad smaller in diameter as the stocking. Ernie put his head in the stocking, grabbed the apple, and pulled. It didn t work. • 44. Theseus In The Odyssey Of all the Greek heroes, the greatest of all was the mighty and powerful Theseus. Theseus rose above and beyond any other hero by using his intellect and not just superior strength. He refused to take the easy path and instead took the path he felt was right. The myth of Theseus proves that intellect, courage, and compassion can be superior to strength and brute force. Theseus, unlike many of the Greek heroes, was not only the son of a god, but a mortal man as well. Some versions of the myth claim that his dual paternity was caused by his mother having relations with both Poseidon, god of the sea, and Aegeus, the king of Athens, in the same night. Other version claim he was the son of either one or the other. Before Theseus was born, King Aegeus left a pair of sandals and his sword in a hollow covered ... He, Ariadne, and the rest of the tributes returned to the ship on which they came to journey back to Athens. Ariadne never made it to Athens.
