The Benefits Of Legalizing Gambling Essay
People may think of the benefits of legalizing gambling first, but there come clear distinct problems
that could be the result of the legalization. It is without question that there would be instances of
players betting on various games whether it be on games in their league or others, and would give the
leagues another giant problem to monitor of their players. There have already been clear problems
with a variety of players in different sports like John Daly in golf, Michael Jordan, and Charles
Barkley all infamously having gambling problems, which could have been much worse if sports
betting were legal in their time. To make it worse, the leagues show a blind eye to the gambling that is
going on currently, and has gone on for some time, within the teams and organizations and basically
no repercussions being put on the team and players. There have also been situations where people like
Tim Donaghy and Pete Rose and infamous for their gambling habits on games that they were involved
in with Rose being a player, and Donaghy a referee. This brings the largest problem that could be
involved with the possibility of games outcomes being influenced by players or referees connected
with possible situations like Tim Donaghy found himself in during the 2004 NBA season, when he
was put under federal investigation for betting on games. Between that and the Pete Rose ongoing
situation with the MLB, those are considered two of the worst scandals in sports history along with the

Argumentative Analysis
Video games impact the brain in a wide variety of ways. Some people could, and have, made the
argument that video games are destructive for children and that they become a distraction from actual
educational work (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). On the other hand, one
could certainly argue that video games could be a valuable tool in the learning environment (Bavelier,
Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). At any rate, there are several different, and accurate
views on the subject.
The initial argument I mentioned about video games is probably the one you hear about most often.
How many times have you heard a set of parents say that their child is rotting away in front of a video
game. Well, there is actually some truth to that. Children who show addictive behavior in regards to
video games have also shown symptoms that are typical in addicts of other sorts (Bavelier, Green,
Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). Some domains that are affected by this type of behavior
include behavioral, social, academic, occupational, and developmental (Bavelier, Green, ... Show

There are also many studies that show how video games increase peripheral perception, processing
speed, and memory (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). Also, depending on
the type of video game a particular person is playing, it can be used as an effective training
scenario(Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). The idea here is that video games
can be used as a productive tool for people of all ages, professions, and lifestyles, if they are utilized
correctly (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). An issue that may come up is
trying to find the happy area in the middle of the people who don t use games at all and the ones that
are using them excessively and becoming

Staples And Office Depot Inc.
Staples and Office Depot Inc. are both office supply chains. Today both companies are doing great
considering where they came from and their competitive market. It is safe to say Staples has more
than 2000 stores while Office Depot has above 1600 stores throughout the world. According to the
case they were both originated in 1986 and while being founded early on over the next decade they
and additional office supply chains have contended belligerently in order to provide a suitable,
unfailing and inexpensive supply of office materials to smaller industries or businesses along with
other persons who have home offices. Staples and Office Depot have been extremely victorious in the
field of office supplies. They have kicked out hundreds and thousands of individual privately owned
businesses out of selling and abolished even few competitors in the office supply market by getting
hold of their business or economic failure of their business. By 1996 they had only one existing
contestant which even till today I remember and that is OfficeMax. Office Depot has been very
insistent, in addition, Staples and OfficeMax are to participate more assertively as well. The office
supply prices for staples are the cheapest in the cities that all three of the nationwide office supply
chains staples, office depot, and office max compete. Prices reach higher in the markets that only the
additional competitor is OfficeMax. Office Depot incriminates drastically with increased prices that

Job Aspests of Anesthesiologists, Radiologists, and...
What three jobs interest me? Personally I m interested in being a Radiologist of course, but I m also
intrigued with being an Anesthesiologist or a physician s assistant. During this mini research project I
will be discussing general core requirements, and just general aspects of the job itself. For instance the
salary for each of the profession and expected job prospects. The medical field is quite vast in its
selection of job careers even within the same job you can be many different titles while doing the
same thing. One of the careers I had chosen was to be a radiologist. Radiologists are physicians who
use cutting edge imaging technology to examine organs and tissues inside the body in gentle,
noninvasive ways. Their expertise in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Granted when you look for a career you also have to think about job outlook. For the field in
radiology there are plenty of job openings and even a shortage in specialist for this field. Now there is
training involved to become a radiologist you have to go to medical school, then apply for a residency
which can last between 1 3 years. Also state licensure is mandatory for all practicing physicians
including radiologists. In the year 2013 government mandated the requirement for passage of a two
part examination covering medicine, anatomy, imaging modalities and physics. Another career I am
interested in is the field of Anesthesiology. To become an anesthesiologist there are several course that
are required as prerequisites such as calculus, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, and
physics. As well as completing a bachelor s degree. Then after completing the four year bachelor s
degree medical school is required to further on in this career. After medical school, a physician
choosing anesthesiology as his or her specialty completes a year of internship and then three years of
residency. Some anesthesiologists choose to specialize in pain management, as opposed to traditional
surgical anesthesia. Pain management anesthesiologists generally run an office based practice,

South African Americans Before European Integration
Europe has been quite successful in integrating its economies because of the various geopolitical and
economic activities. The first and foremost reason is that these countries are small and the economy of
the one country can be integrated with the economy of the other country. Their integration has been
made possible because the aspiration and believe of the different countries are very much similar.
Moreover, their cultural and economic history is moreover same. European Union as it has been called
now has been the most developed model of the regional integration though challenged by economic
crisis now a days.
For the integration, the intersection of the economic need, life style of the people, and size of the
economy must be same. Due to inappropriate way and lack of proper political integration by countries
and surge in the national feeling over the common economic goal of the region has adversely impacted
the area. European unions is comprised of many countries which include different countries which are

integration effort but has become the group of maximum three to four countries. Moreover the
proposal effort by the Mercosur is not taken by the many other countries and thus it has been

Ambiguity Of Civil Liberties Essay
Civil liberties have a formative and long history within the UK, the development of which is
considered to have begun with the Magna Carta in 1215. This document is often described as the
blueprint and original template for the numerous Bill of Rights and constitutions which exist today.
Unlike other countries, such as the USA, the UK does not have a written constitution setting out its
citizens civil liberties. Common law may account for many of the UK s long recognised civil liberties
however it is the documents which exemplify liberties which are still enforced today, such as habeas
corpus: anyone who has been arrested or otherwise deprived of their liberty, may apply for a judge to
oversee the legality of this decision. With the UK currently a party to the European Convention of
Human Rights (ECHR) and the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA 1998), it is becoming ever more
important to understand what defines a civil liberties and whether civil liberties and human rights can
be viewed as interchangeable concepts. This essay aims to examine: the origins and apparent
ambiguity of civil liberties and human rights; the two different approaches offered by the author of
Textbook on Civil Liberties and Human Rights, Richard Stone; and Ewing and Gearty s slant, as noted
in The Struggle for Civil Liberties; whether civil liberties are distinct from human rights will also be
explored, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gearty argues that civil liberties are the rights which are not to be interfered with, rather than the right
to do something. They have divided civil liberties into two categories: primary and secondary. Primary
liberties are those necessary for direct participation in the political process, such as the right to vote;
whereas secondary liberties are those which allow influence on politics. The view here is that civil
liberties are mostly protected by common law, whilst human rights are safeguarded by

Ccp Essay
Current CCP policy towards religion finds its roots in the original master slave relationship of the past
(Guo Zhang 2015:2185). Thus underground churches or religious followers that move to subvert the
state or even grow too large for the government to be comfortable with are met with arrests and in
some cases even beatings (Chan 2012; Cheng Li 2014; DuBois 2010; Guo Zhang 2015; Ji 2012).
Organised churches that operate with government approval are still expected to register with the
relevant government organisation and strictly cooperate with local officials (Chan 2012; Cheng Li
2014; Qu 2011).
Yet, it is virtually impossible for the central government to regulate all religious organisations within
the country (Lai 2006). As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The church was also willing to work with local official requests so long as they do not violate
principles of their faith. This cooperative resistance highlights the extremely pragmatic methods the
government uses to maintain religious organisations within the country (Lu 2012:4).
Despite this pragmatism, the Chinese government still discriminates heavily towards Christianity,
Islam, and Tibetan Buddhism. The government still views Christianity as a foreign influence and
recent efforts under Xi Jinping s administration have seen increased crackdowns on underground
Christian churches (Cheng Li 2014; DuBois 2010; McCarthy 2017). Likewise, the government views
Islam with suspicion given its association with Uyghur ethnic group and their calls for independence
(DuBois 2010; Lai 2006). The Chinese government also runs constant propaganda against Tibetan
Buddhism for the Dalai Lama s role in promoting Tibetan autonomy (DuBois 2010). This all contrasts
with Xi Jinping s greater efforts to promote Buddhism and Confucianism as distinctive Chinese
religions (Johnson 2017c; Kallio 2015).
Furthermore, the Chinese government interference within religion organisations raises concerns about
the erosion of the religion s core fundamental values. The CCP has repeatedly called for religious
followers to their love of socialism

Of Michaelangelo Merisi Da Caravaggio s Young Sick Bacchus
Wine and Rome have an intertwined history, both developing and expanding together. Wine is an
integral part of Italian daily life, it was even consumed regularly in ancient times and was a staple of
social life. Viticulture began as early as 1200 BC and continued to grow into what it is today
(Lorenzo). Therefore, wine is just as old as Rome itself. Throughout Rome s history, it is clear that
wine plays an important role in art and in daily social life. It is integral to understand the importance
of wine in order to grasp the basics of Roman daily life as it was thousands of years ago. In art, wine
is depicted in various ways either through gods, grapes, symbols, or quite simply, a cup of wine. In
Michaelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio s painting created in 1594 entitled Young Sick Bacchus, wine is
portrayed through the representation of the Roman god of wine, Bacchus (also referred to as
Dionysus) (Aronson). Young Sick Bacchus demonstrates how important wine was due to the fact that
it is being represented through a god with an interesting history and religion that can be explored, and
it also gives a glimpse into the history of Italy s most renowned artist, Caravaggio. This paper will

was the god of wine and ecstasy and was worshipped as early as 13th century BC ( Dionysus ).
Bacchus was the son of Zeus and Semele, one of Zeus s mistresses, who was a mortal ( Dionysus ). To
prove his love, Semele requested that Zeus reveal his true form and upon complying, Semele exploded
because Zeus s power was too great to handle. Bacchus, who was still in his mother s womb at the
time, was saved by Zeus and was sewn into his thigh until he was ready to be reborn

Butler s Writings In The Classroom, By Judith Butler
Anyone who has ever attempted to read any literature written by gender theorist, Judith Butler, knows
how much of a struggle it is to decode her main points. Even after taking three gender studies courses,
reading multiple articles, and analyzing portions from her books, I still have a difficult time
comprehending just exactly what Judith Butler is stating. One cannot simply read her writing once and
expect fully understand her points. If you say can, then you are lying. I would describe Butler s
writing style as elegantly confusing. Her vast vocabulary and placement of words is so exquisite, that
her message seems to dissipate. The trick to understanding Butler (at least the trick that has somewhat
worked for me) is reading through her writings repeatedly and intensely examining every single word
she wrote. In this essay, I reflect on Judith Butler s writings and express how I understand those
writings in relation to my own life experiences. Our we assigned our gender at birth, or do we perform
one based on the values that we have learned? Butler explores this question in her article, Critically
Queer. According to Butler, gender is not based off of our biological sex at all; rather gender is
performative (Pg. 21, Par. 4, 1993). This is one of Butler s theories that always seems to find its way
into Gender Studies courses and confuses the heck out of me; because there is a difference between
gender being performed and gender being performative. Saying gender is a

Analysis Of The Article The Fox News Network
In late September, the Fox News Network published an article calling into question the intentions of a
West Point cadet after he wore a sombrero to a football game against the University of Texas at El
Paso. In the article, Activist cries foul after West Point fan wears sombrero at game near Mexican
border, author Lucia Suarez Sang comments on the outcry that ensued from the Hispanic community
after a picture of the cadet was posted on the Academy s Facebook page. Was it inappropriate for the
cadet to wear the sombrero? Was the Academy at fault for posting the photo? Can and should we
protect others from feelings and emotions that are a result of politically incorrect expression? Cultural
sensitivity is becoming an increasingly popular topic in media, on college campuses, and in the
military. We now live in a world where the language we use is under such scrutiny that some are
discouraged from expressing their true opinions for fear of being blackballed by their peers. Not only
does political correctness limit free speech, it also fundamentally transforms the way we think by
avoiding the topics that some simply do not want to discuss. Political correctness is raising serious
questions at West Point, impacting students attending other colleges, and influencing individuals post
graduation. Was the cadet misguided in his decision to wear the sombrero? Had it been a civilian, the
answer would be significantly more straightforward. The First Amendment to the Constitution

Argument Of The Liar Paradox
Liar paradox is a general argument about liars who claim that they are actually lying. For instance,
when a person says, whatever I said is not true, it means that the person is lying and is telling an
indication that shows he or she is lying. Therefore, a paradox can be termed as an argument with three
features including a premise that appears to be the true, a conclusion that appears to be false, and if the
statement can be termed as valid. Liar paradox is also an argument that reaches at the contradiction via
reasoning about the sentence with the lie. The classical kinds of sentences are mainly self referential
which results to difficulties in the same sentences. For instance, it can be assumed that the liar
sentence is M (Houben, 2001). If in any manner M is termed as true, then M is false. Further, an
indication of semantic incoherence can be use to describe the liar paradox including 1+2=5 . Such
problems are common in expression of the liar paradoxes but many people misinterpret them. Some
people react by not taking the statement of paradox serious while ... Show more content on

Such an approach provides us with no dependable guidance regarding how to avoid the paradoxes.
This is because the liar paradox is wholly dependent upon ideas on how to develop inferences and
manner in which to understand the major semantic concepts of reference, negation or truth and
determine which concept requires revision. In addition, many suggestions have been put forward on
the way in which liar paradox can be dealt with. However, many of these suggestions fail to provide
formal or any detailed theoretical frameworks that can bring its own semantics or syntax with
precision. Any decent means or theory of determining the truth and at the same time depicting a liar
paradox should possess both philosophical justification and a coherent formalism to back it up

The Role Of Yongzheng In Manchu And China
Emperor Kangxi died in 1722, leaving Yongzheng to become the fourth emperor of the Manchu Qing
Dynasty. The Kangxi emperor had fourteen sons and it was Yongzheng who ascended to the throne,
some accused Yongzheng of using nefarious tactics to achieve his position. Yongzheng s language
abilities in Manchu and Chinese as well as his cultivation in traditional classics and poetry all met
with his father s approval, but it was his sincerity in performing filial piety that especially won Kangxi
s praise. Being chosen as Emperor caused his brothers great unhappiness, because of their jealousy
much of Yongzheng s early years on the throne were spent defending his rule through political
maneuvering and consolidating his power of his Empire.

The Film More Than A Month
In the film More Than a Month by filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghman, Tilghman argues that we
should end Black History Month for once and for all. In this film he attempts to demonstrate the truth
about BHM and examine what might happen if BHM no longer existed. Tilghman argues that Black
History is American History , and he believes that the only solution to this problem is to end BHM and
incorporate it all year around. So the question is: should we end Black History Month? This is an
extremely controversial question which has been asked all over the world for many years. Everyone
has their own opinion and beliefs about whether to end BHM or not, but there isn t a correct answer.
As decades have passed there have been many issues that involve BHM. For example, BHM no longer
has the same meaning that Carter G. Woodson intended for it when he created it in 1926. He instituted
Negro Week primarily for the benefit of black Americans who were unaware of their contributions to
American History. Woodson wanted to educate blacks and white Americans about black Americans
and their accomplishments. Woodson believed that Negro History week would give a better
appreciation to black Americans and their African ancestors. Unlike today where many people believe
that BHM has became an ethnocentric and a cultural separation observance.
Many individuals believe that BHM is beneficial to American society because it gives people the

Conflict In Sudan Research Paper
In conclusion, Sudan should use is power of Africa s largest country to create peaceful movements and
to provide multiculturalism. The principal cause of those conflicts are about money and power. If they
tough more about the way of living, they would have a better lifestyle. Also, they don t have any
social system to help them.
Giving money and donation will not resolve genocides. Those people need to stand up and we have to
help these civilizations with the strength of our words.
Finally, the power of globalization could change everything. With social networks that we have today,
it s impossible to think that some country still have that kind of important country. We all know that, at

Factors Influencing The International Students
Factors influencing the international students to choose the United States as their higher study
destination
Prejin Kumar Pradeep Kumar Husson University
Abstract
The United States hosts more of the world s 4.5 million global mobile college and university students
than any other country in the world, with almost double the number hosted by the United Kingdom,
the second leading host country. However, little research has done on various components that
influenced a student to choose a country for higher education. In this investigation, I consider a survey
approach on students in selected countries about their preferred study destinations, their reasons for
studying internationally, their main sources of information on overseas study and their opinions of the
U.S. as a potential study destination compared to other key host destinations. Specifically, the quality
of education and research opportunities are the two major factors that students consider before
choosing the United States as their study destination.

When love speaks the voice of all the gods makes heaven drowsy with the harmony, Taming of the
Shrew, Act IV, scene II.
Besides being a well written play, the comedic devices that each act holds is used to help develop the
plot and the comedy effect of The Taming of the Shrew. The devices used has shown the audience
how the shrew could be changed by receiving the same treatment it has been giving. Shakespeare used
comedic devices to help keep the audience focused on the story and keep them guessing to what
Petruchio was going to do to make Katharina tame. The plot becomes developed when certain events
with family drama, quick witted language, and unexpected scenarios that take place to create plot
twists that no one can foreshadow. All of the materials used above shape a story of how a woman
changes dramatically with the help of one man who she undoubted calls her husband without any
choice of decision.
Who doesn t love some family drama in a movie or ever a play, Shakespeare I known to coordinate

The Death Of Cartoon Television Tv Show
As a long time fan of classic, nostalgia filled cartoons of the 80 s, 90 s and early 2000 s it s sad to say
the days of Saturday morning cartoons have been laid to rest. Or rather abruptly terminated would be a
better way to put it. The death of cartoon tv TV show blocks has been tucked away in the box of many
young children (mainly of the male demographic) right next to infrared peripherals, and chewed up

influence of Saturday morning cartoons still continues. First things first, modern cartoons have
difficulty embodying the same type of in depth, adult themed, bro mantic adventures that older
cartoons thrived off of. Take for example the original Transformers series. A group of ultra intelligent,
sentient robots escape their crippling homeworld of Cybertron in order to seek out the much needed

had an influence on the self regulatory strategies they used. Bown highlighted that in the context of
individualized instruction, the most important self regulatory strategy the learners must employ is
structuring the learning environment to meet their language learning needs. Due to the isolation felt by
the learners in this self instructed language learning context, they needed to deal with negative
emotions like avoidance with positive self talk. Self regulation and motivation of adult language
learners of different proficiency levels in English language learning was investigated in Mezei s

intermediate level is more conscious of her language learning processes and more competent in
regulating her language learning than the pre intermediate learner. She self initiated her learning
process by using effective learning strategies to achieve her intrinsic language learning goal. The
learner with a higher proficiency level practiced self reflection, and thus was more aware of her

Essay about The Plight of Immigrants to Boston
The Plight of Immigrants to Boston
Since its conception in the early 1600 s, Boston, the so called City on a Hill, has opened its doors to
all people of all ethnic and religious background. At times there were many who fought to prevent the
immigrants, while other people, at the same time, helped those who made it to the Americas, more
specifically, Boston to make a new life for themselves. The immigrants from Ireland were not
unfamiliar with this trend in American history. More often than not, the Irish immigrants were met
with adversity from the native Bostonians. Founded by the Puritans in the late 1600 s, Boston and its
people were not completely open to immigrants, at first, which seemed odd, considering they were

Unfortunately, the Irish Catholic immigrants were not looked very highly upon at first. The Puritan
citizens of Boston often looked those that actually expressed their religious, papist beliefs in public
with suspicion and fear. These Puritans continued to regard Catholicism as both a subversive political
menace as well as a fearsome religious heresy. This, considering the fact that those same Puritans and
Protestants came to the Colonies in search of religious freedom, was quite bold on their parts. For
example, many Roman Catholics were excluded from liberties and rights that other citizens had. They
were often placed under unusually severe limitations on their everyday life especially on those actions
where religious believes played and important role. Following the Revolutionary War, some tolerance
for Catholics was present there was a sufficient atmosphere of forbearance in Boston to accommodate
the handful of Roman Catholics who had now begun to practice heir religion openly. This new found
tolerance could not have come at better time. After the Revolutionary War, larger numbers of Irish
immigrants were joining their friends and families in America. From 1825 to 1830, approximately
125,000 people emigrated from Ireland to the Americas, an average of 20,000 a year. Over 30,000 of
them came to Boston and by 1830, the Irish Catholic population of Boston had grown to 8,000.

Nathaniel Hawthorne The Ocean Diction
Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Ocean , written in 1833, shows the contrasting ways of the ocean which
serves as a metaphor for life. The stress and hard times are conveyed by the fury of the waves, while
its peaceful underneath demonstrates death. To effectively transmit this idea, Hawthorne uses diction,
imagery, personification, and irony. In The Ocean, Nathaniel Hawthorne draws a parallel distinction
between the ocean and life as he distinguishes between above and below the ocean to represent the
hardships in life up until death. Hawthorne s use of the contrasting diction demonstrates the two
opposing sides of the ocean. Above the water represents the ups and downs of life, as the waves move.
The fury on the waves gives a negative connotation, showing the difficult times that life can bring.
The wearied seaman also show the exhaust and tiredness that they feel from their hectic lives.
Contrasting, below the water is described as deep, quiet, and alone. This is depicting death or a
peaceful sleep. Along with underwater displaying death, Hawthorne also adds a religious piece to it.

High Costs And Risk Of War By James Fearon
James Fearon aims to shed light on the question why conflicts occur despite high costs for the actors
involved and an uncertainty of outcome. He employs a rationalist explanation with states as main
actors not the international system. The high costs and risk of war create an ex post inefficient, which
should provide motivation for rational states to find an other way of solving their differences which
would be preferable to a open conflict (Fearon 1995: 380). Yet despite the awareness of the negative
outcome and thus an incentive to avoid it, wars between states occur and this creates the central
Puzzel for Fearons theory (Fearon 1995: 383). The ex post inefficiency of war opens up an ex ante
bargaining range (Fearon 1995: 390). This bargaining range expands between the two preferred
outcome of the two opposing states. Between the two preferred outcomes a continuous range for
peaceful settlements exists (Fearon 1995: 389). Both states have a bargaining range with possible
solutions bound by expected utility of war as well as by the costs and risks of fighting (Fearon 1995:
388). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Anarchy and preventive wars are ruled out as rational explanations as their either do not reflect on
costs, or do not consider bargaining between states which would create a better outcome for states

The Relationship between Science and Religion
The Relationship between Science and Religion The relationship between science and religion will be
analyzed in the following three aspects: conflict, compartmentalization and complementariness.
Conflict An essential question on our own existence is bound to evoke our curiosity: where did we
come from? Charles Darwin, in his theory of evolution, believed that human being was evolved from
apes. However, the Genesis in Bible considered that human was created by God. Undoubtedly, it is
impossible for human to have two sources. Therefore, science and religion hold absolutely contrastive
viewpoints. That s the basic standpoint of Conflict. Science is full of rationality and impersonality,
while religion is filled with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Religious faith is the foundation and motivation of scientific rationality s improvement. To some
extent, religion promoted science. There is a religious saying: God saw the light, that is was good, and
God divided the light from the darkness. This religious faith promoted people to divide light from
darkness, and it directed them towards science. Meanwhile, science reacts upon religion, stimulates
the religious development and achieves religious goals. Both of them are indispensable. Einstein said,
Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind , From my perspective, science and
religion are not in conflict or incompatible, but complementary and integral. From papermaking
technology used for the printing of the Buddhist Scriptures to the internet served as preaching religion,
both science and religion played an indispensable sole in human beings lives. To some degree, religion
can be a moral guidance for people in adversity and science enhance our living standard. Being
inseparably interconnected with each other will make our world brighter and happier. But both of
them, as a double edged sword, if applied appropriately, would benefit us; if not, they would do harm
to us. Therefore, we should adopt their strong points while overcoming the weak

1. Request: The industry of construction is an industry where you have to be precise and very

architects at the firm has tried to ask for this software in the past and the bosses turned the idea down
because the software was too expensive. The designer didn t provide any evidence or provided little
logic for his argument, which is why he was unsuccessful in influencing the superiors. Influencing
them into purchasing is the only option now and everyone in the company acknowledges the need for
such software except the superiors.

The Spanish Colonization Of Latin America
Because the Indians and Spanish lived in different areas in Latin America, the Indian culture and
society did not change significantly. Or did there society change? The Spanish colonizers had a huge
influence on the indigenous peoples of Mexico and Peru s, culture, language, traditions, religion, even
on their native food. One can say that this came into being shortly after Columbus discovered the New
World. The Spanish conquistadors, who sailed with Columbus to the New World, were the first to
leave their mark on the new territory. We still see some of these traditions in today s society. The
Spanish taught the Indians of their oral traditions of legends and jokes, music, food, beliefs, and
customs. The Indians even picked up on their native tongue, Spanish, and used it as their own and still
do to this day. There are many things in the Mexican culture which have contributed to the shaping
and molding of the modern Latino society, such as the Mexican history, culture, language, religion,
and traditions.
The Indigenous culture is not simply a blend of Mexico used to be, but the results of a unique
historical process that developed with an originality all its own. This culture was divided into many
different social classes after the Spanish took the reins. Like they started to develop a governmental
system for the Indigenous people and they started to tax them with the Bourbon Reforms. Many

Organelles In Animal Cells Essay
Organelles are the internal structures of the cell that are important for the cell to survive. Each
organelle has a specific function for the cell. The types of organelles in the cell can be different from
each other depending on the type of cell. Plant cells and animal cells both have a cytoskeleton,
endoplasmic reticulum (smooth and rough), golgi apparatus, mitochondrion, nucleus, plasma
membrane, and ribosomes. Animal and plant cells also have vacuoles, but they are rarely found in
animal cells. Vacuoles in animal cells are very small compared to the vacuoles in plant cells.
Lysosomes are also rarely found in plant cells but mostly found in animal cells. The cytoplasm is a
semifluid in the plasma membrane. It is in all eukaryotic cells. In prokaryotes, this is where the
chemical processes of the cell take place. In eukaryotic cells, this is where organelles perform their
functions. Cellular respiration also takes place here. One of stages of cellular respiration is glycolysis.
Glycolysis is when glucose breaks down to form two pyruvates and 4 ATP. Its net result of 2 ATP is
important for another process called the Krebs Cycle. This process is important because it begins
cellular respiration. The cytoplasm also gives the cell its shape; without it, the cell would be deflated
and substances would not be able to move throughout the cell. Organelles would have difficulty
functioning too. It has been misunderstood that organelles float freely in the cytoplasm even

Reflection In Night By Elie Wiesel
In this eye opening book, Night by Elie Wiesel, it became very obvious that, not only his view on the
world, but his view on others and himself changed dramatically throughout the book. He changed
mentally and became stronger in the mind, the things he went through had changed his whole body,
leaving scars and showing his rib cage from lack of food, and his beliefs in God and humanity. His
human right on how he wanted to grow up was taken from him and instead he was handed the brink of
life or death, along with his father, who was constantly on the edge of death. He often questioned the
fact that God was on their side, given the fact that he and thousands more were tortured, beaten, and
killed everyday. He also questioned why God would want them to go through this; was it to make
them stronger people... or did God just want them to suffer? In the Shmoop video, it states that, Not
only can our bodies be tortured, but our souls as well. Elie Wiesel goes through absolute hell everyday
and survives it. He was beaten and hurt multiple times by the people watching over them. He was
tortured physically. But, he also had to watch his own father decay and struggle. Elie went through so
much emotional struggles in the beginning of the book, but later on he started to lose the ability to cry,
for he was all out of tears to spare. He became stronger in the mind and heart. On page 22, it says that

hazard for those who handle soiled and infected linen control measures are necessary. The aim of this
study is to ascertain whether linens are correctly categorized, segregated and laundered to prevent the

How Do Advertisers Target Our Youth
Advertisers are using many different techniques to try to target our youth. Some of the ways take place
through schools, stores, and even in your own home. Now, i m going to explain where and how
advertisers target our youth. To start off with, one big way marketers target our youth are at the store.
Why? Simple because that s where they are selling there products and and where they target kids the
most. Marketers try to make eye contact levels on their products so it attracts viewers eyes more
easily. Their goal is to try to make interesting characters or thing that pop so that it seems cool or good
to them so kids will want it. It is stated in the film Marketing to kids that Kids have to nag their
parents approximately 9 times in order for them to respond or get them whatever it is they want. They
use that strategy because their parents will eventually get tired of hearing them and let them get the
product. Advertisers probably use this method a lot to get marketers. Another way kids are targeted is
at home. You can see ads on basically any electronic device or any commercial on T.V. In fact most of
the commercials we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You cant go a full school day without at least seeing one type of ad. From worksheets, to computers,
to the science experiment your doing in science class there is different foods or store proucts involved.
You can even add and subtract in math using food such as M M s. The goal is for kids to think that is
looks interesting then go home and tell their parents they want it. Sometimes even when you turn on
your computer there s some type of ad that pops up for some kind of app, or game, or shoes and food.
All you can do is ignore it or click to learn more. If it looks interesting then your more then likely
going to click on it and learn more. So, with that being said that s the job of marketers to make things
look fun so people will look into it

The Call Of Isaiah
The introduction of this passage in Isaiah the six chapter begins by giving the reader an account of
what is known as the the call of Isaiah . We also can see that Isaiah is more than just a prophet, but he
is a visionary, leader, priest, and a messenger of things to come. Not much about Isaiah is known
except the names of his father, and last two sons. We also see in Scripture, according to Isaiah 8, that
he is married, and his wife is a prophetess, but her name isn t mentioned in Scripture. There has never
been a vision in scripture so clear that depicts God as sitting on a throne . Yet the imaginative details
of Isaiah s vision opens the door for the reader allowing him/her to see an active God, instead of one
who just sits at a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For years the king had lived in alienation and separation, under divine displeasure (2Ki. 15:5; 2Ch.
26:16ff.), and as his death approached he remained, to the human eye, uncleansed. Thus, Uzziah, as
the darkness of death closed in upon him, was symbolic of Isaiah s view of the nation, its plight and its
problems.
Another question that arises during the reading of this narrative is, what is the tension between the
prophetic office and the political position? Again, as stated before, this is unusual behavior for a
prophet to make mention during the time of his call. I can understand that Isaiah is possibly standing
in the office of priest during this time but how does this transitional calling influence the people
around and the culture of the social climate. In looking into the later parts of the vision, it could be
possible that the position of God sitting on a throne is a revelation that mirrors God being identified as
Lord and moving Isaiah from one office of responsibility to the next.
Next Isaiah gives a picture description of the beginning part of the vision. He references God sitting
on a throne, high and lifted up, and his train feeling the Temple . This for some scholars has given
implication that Isaiah is present in the Temple during the time of the vision, thus suggesting that he is
also a priest during the time of his call. But the divine was not present alone in this experience. Isaiah
also mentions the presence and the attendance of

  • 2. The Benefits Of Legalizing Gambling Essay People may think of the benefits of legalizing gambling first, but there come clear distinct problems that could be the result of the legalization. It is without question that there would be instances of players betting on various games whether it be on games in their league or others, and would give the leagues another giant problem to monitor of their players. There have already been clear problems with a variety of players in different sports like John Daly in golf, Michael Jordan, and Charles Barkley all infamously having gambling problems, which could have been much worse if sports betting were legal in their time. To make it worse, the leagues show a blind eye to the gambling that is going on currently, and has gone on for some time, within the teams and organizations and basically no repercussions being put on the team and players. There have also been situations where people like Tim Donaghy and Pete Rose and infamous for their gambling habits on games that they were involved in with Rose being a player, and Donaghy a referee. This brings the largest problem that could be involved with the possibility of games outcomes being influenced by players or referees connected with possible situations like Tim Donaghy found himself in during the 2004 NBA season, when he was put under federal investigation for betting on games. Between that and the Pete Rose ongoing situation with the MLB, those are considered two of the worst scandals in sports history along with the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Argumentative Analysis Video games impact the brain in a wide variety of ways. Some people could, and have, made the argument that video games are destructive for children and that they become a distraction from actual educational work (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). On the other hand, one could certainly argue that video games could be a valuable tool in the learning environment (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). At any rate, there are several different, and accurate views on the subject. The initial argument I mentioned about video games is probably the one you hear about most often. How many times have you heard a set of parents say that their child is rotting away in front of a video game. Well, there is actually some truth to that. Children who show addictive behavior in regards to video games have also shown symptoms that are typical in addicts of other sorts (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). • 8. Ambiguity Of Civil Liberties Essay Civil liberties have a formative and long history within the UK, the development of which is considered to have begun with the Magna Carta in 1215. This document is often described as the blueprint and original template for the numerous Bill of Rights and constitutions which exist today. Unlike other countries, such as the USA, the UK does not have a written constitution setting out its citizens civil liberties. Common law may account for many of the UK s long recognised civil liberties however it is the documents which exemplify liberties which are still enforced today, such as habeas corpus: anyone who has been arrested or otherwise deprived of their liberty, may apply for a judge to oversee the legality of this decision. With the UK currently a party to the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR) and the Human Rights Act 1998 (HRA 1998), it is becoming ever more important to understand what defines a civil liberties and whether civil liberties and human rights can be viewed as interchangeable concepts. This essay aims to examine: the origins and apparent ambiguity of civil liberties and human rights; the two different approaches offered by the author of Textbook on Civil Liberties and Human Rights, Richard Stone; and Ewing and Gearty s slant, as noted in The Struggle for Civil Liberties; whether civil liberties are distinct from human rights will also be explored, and ... The Chinese government also runs constant propaganda against Tibetan Buddhism for the Dalai Lama s role in promoting Tibetan autonomy (DuBois 2010). This all contrasts with Xi Jinping s greater efforts to promote Buddhism and Confucianism as distinctive Chinese religions (Johnson 2017c; Kallio 2015). Viticulture began as early as 1200 BC and continued to grow into what it is today (Lorenzo). Therefore, wine is just as old as Rome itself. Throughout Rome s history, it is clear that wine plays an important role in art and in daily social life. One cannot simply read her writing once and expect fully understand her points. If you say can, then you are lying. I would describe Butler s writing style as elegantly confusing. For instance, when a person says, whatever I said is not true, it means that the person is lying and is telling an indication that shows he or she is lying. Liar paradox is also an argument that reaches at the contradiction via reasoning about the sentence with the lie. The classical kinds of sentences are mainly self referential which results to difficulties in the same sentences. For instance, it can be assumed that the liar sentence is M (Houben, 2001). If in any manner M is termed as true, then M is false. Further, an indication of semantic incoherence can be use to describe the liar paradox including 1+2=5 . The Death Of Cartoon Television Tv Show As a long time fan of classic, nostalgia filled cartoons of the 80 s, 90 s and early 2000 s it s sad to say the days of Saturday morning cartoons have been laid to rest. Or rather abruptly terminated would be a better way to put it. The death of cartoon tv TV show blocks has been tucked away in the box of many young children (mainly of the male demographic) right next to infrared peripherals, and chewed up and worn action figures that accommodated them. Though unlike many dying forms of media, the influence of Saturday morning cartoons still continues. At times there were many who fought to prevent the immigrants, while other people, at the same time, helped those who made it to the Americas, more specifically, Boston to make a new life for themselves. The immigrants from Ireland were not unfamiliar with this trend in American history. More often than not, the Irish immigrants were met with adversity from the native Bostonians. The Puritan citizens of Boston often looked those that actually expressed their religious, papist beliefs in public with suspicion and fear. These Puritans continued to regard Catholicism as both a subversive political menace as well as a fearsome religious heresy. This, considering the fact that those same Puritans and Protestants came to the Colonies in search of religious freedom, was quite bold on their parts. For example, many Roman Catholics were excluded from liberties and rights that other citizens had. They were often placed under unusually severe limitations on their everyday life especially on those actions where religious believes played and important role. • 32. Nathaniel Hawthorne The Ocean Diction Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Ocean , written in 1833, shows the contrasting ways of the ocean which serves as a metaphor for life. The stress and hard times are conveyed by the fury of the waves, while its peaceful underneath demonstrates death. To effectively transmit this idea, Hawthorne uses diction, imagery, personification, and irony. In The Ocean, Nathaniel Hawthorne draws a parallel distinction between the ocean and life as he distinguishes between above and below the ocean to represent the hardships in life up until death. Hawthorne s use of the contrasting diction demonstrates the two opposing sides of the ocean. Above the water represents the ups and downs of life, as the waves move. The fury on the waves gives a negative connotation, showing the difficult times that life can bring. The wearied seaman also show the exhaust and tiredness that they feel from their hectic lives. • 33. High Costs And Risk Of War By James Fearon James Fearon aims to shed light on the question why conflicts occur despite high costs for the actors involved and an uncertainty of outcome. He employs a rationalist explanation with states as main actors not the international system. The high costs and risk of war create an ex post inefficient, which should provide motivation for rational states to find an other way of solving their differences which would be preferable to a open conflict (Fearon 1995: 380). Yet despite the awareness of the negative outcome and thus an incentive to avoid it, wars between states occur and this creates the central Puzzel for Fearons theory (Fearon 1995: 383). The ex post inefficiency of war opens up an ex ante bargaining range (Fearon 1995: 390). This bargaining range expands between the two preferred outcome of the two opposing states. Between the two preferred outcomes a continuous range for peaceful settlements exists (Fearon 1995: 389). Both states have a bargaining range with possible solutions bound by expected utility of war as well as by the costs and risks of fighting (Fearon 1995: 388). ... Meanwhile, science reacts upon religion, stimulates the religious development and achieves religious goals. Both of them are indispensable. The types of organelles in the cell can be different from each other depending on the type of cell. Plant cells and animal cells both have a cytoskeleton, endoplasmic reticulum (smooth and rough), golgi apparatus, mitochondrion, nucleus, plasma membrane, and ribosomes. Animal and plant cells also have vacuoles, but they are rarely found in animal cells. Vacuoles in animal cells are very small compared to the vacuoles in plant cells. Lysosomes are also rarely found in plant cells but mostly found in animal cells. The cytoplasm is a semifluid in the plasma membrane. It is in all eukaryotic cells. In prokaryotes, this is where the chemical processes of the cell take place. In eukaryotic cells, this is where organelles perform their functions. Cellular respiration also takes place here. One of stages of cellular respiration is glycolysis. Glycolysis is when glucose breaks down to form two pyruvates and 4 ATP. Its net result of 2 ATP is important for another process called the Krebs Cycle. This process is important because it begins cellular respiration. Another question that arises during the reading of this narrative is, what is the tension between the prophetic office and the political position? Again, as stated before, this is unusual behavior for a prophet to make mention during the time of his call. I can understand that Isaiah is possibly standing in the office of priest during this time but how does this transitional calling influence the people around and the culture of the social climate. In looking into the later parts of the vision, it could be possible that the position of God sitting on a throne is a revelation that mirrors God being identified as Lord and moving Isaiah from one office of responsibility to the next. Next Isaiah gives a picture description of the beginning part of the vision. He references God sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and his train feeling the Temple .
