1 Introduction
1.1 Background of the study
India like all the developing countries is faced with sustaining its rapid economic growth while
dealing with global threat of climate change. A warming trend is projected for all the four regions
under focus by INCCA. It is indicated that the annual mean surface air temperature may rise from
1.7°C to 2°C by 2030 s. To counter that reducing emissions and increasing energy efficiency are
recurring themes in India s development philosophy which reflects in our policies, missions/
programmes at national, state and local level.
Rapidly increasing energy demand and growing concern about economic and environmental
consequences call for effective and thorough energy governance in India. (Ahn Gracyzk, 2012)
To understand the dynamics of the energy policy framework governing India s energy sector, it is
essential to comprehend the policy objectives and context in

Wage and Wage Earnings
Wage and Wage Earnings Research Process Introduction The general problem is that wage earnings
and wages are categorized differently. In order to understand the specific problem one has to research
various industries as well as look into what positions are being held, they have investigate the number
of years experience, and kook at the current ages is of individuals who are working. With that said in
order to provide research one has to understand what is meant by the research process. Today s society
understands the process of researching is asking question and searching for answers. This paper will

The hypothesis helps the investigator to collect the right kind of data needed for the investigation.
Hypotheses are also important because they help an investigator to locate information needed to
resolve the research problem or sub problems (Leedy and Ormrod, 2001). In research, an investigator
is able to either support or reject a hypothesis. If a hypothesis is rejected, it will lead an investigator to
new hypothesis to explain the phenomenon in question. If a hypothesis is continually supported, it
may evolve into a theory (Leedy and Ormrod, 2001). Three possible outcomes that can result from
this: 1.) Research based on education and wages. 2.) There is a need for the industries HR department
to review their education policy. 3.) The industries will try to find other alternatives not to pay higher
wages to employees with various years of education behind them. According to the data set, if we
research by years of education, we will discover some differences for verse the number of years of
education workers have. Construction workers tend to have less education but higher earnings. The
same is said for professionals or executives but this group has both the education and higher wages to
obtain higher earnings. As we look closer into the research, we start to understand that yes education
plays a large factor but is not the sole ingredient in obtaining and keeping higher wages. Experience,

Examples Of Justice And Punishment In King Lear
Justice, Punishment, and Mercy It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves. One of
William Shakespeare s most famous and commonly used quotes is an important juxtaposition to how
Shakespeare wrote some of his plays, while it seems he did not believe as much in divine destiny or
action, but in the action of oneself physically, and how that affects one s life. In both King Lear and
Measure For Measure by Shakespeare, there are three very important themes that were influenced by
the times in which they were written justice, punishment, and mercy. The difference between the two
is in first play, those three themes are completed in divine actions, while in the second play the trio are
meted out by the actions of characters within the play. Punishment in the 1600 s was often a from of
public entertainment in larger towns and cities, and was used to display and humiliate criminals. The
acts committed by these criminals had a large range in severity, covering theft to sexual misdemeanors
and treason. A common problem with these punishments though was consistency. Shakespeare was
able to illustrate some of these inconsistencies in both of his plays Measure For Measure and King
Lear. Shakespeare not only was able to provide a beautiful form of entertainment to all of the separate
classes, while also appealing to educations of all levels and political and social issues without causing
uproar; what he was able to do is a mastery of writing and understanding of the

Market Research Crucial
Why Is Market Research Crucial to Business Today? Most of the businessmen consider market
research the key to a successful business empire. It is quite essential to conduct a thorough research to
analyze the prospects of an existing or new product. A well conducted research proves fruitful in
evaluating the business situations, the potential sales of a product, prospective customers and so forth.
In simple words, market research is the process of collecting, recording and evaluating data which
relates to various products and services.
Goal of Market Research
There are many reasons why a business enterprise should conduct researches before launching a new
product. Some of the most important goals of such researches involve the following.

Another form of research is the consumer based research.
Primary research involves collection of data directly from the consumers. It is quite an expensive
method of research though quite effective. Customer feedbacks are collected through telephonic
interviews, surveys and group discussions. The primary research is further categorized into
quantitative and qualitative research.
Quantitative research: In quantitative researches, surveys are conducted to collect numerical data.
Most of the surveys include close ended questions which are less time consuming. It is quite easy to
collect such data as consumers tend to be more co operative. The collected data is further analyzed for
a proper conclusion.
Qualitative research: In quantitative researches, group discussions or interviews are conducted to
gather information. This research involves open ended questions where consumers are required to
answer in depth questions. Experienced professionals are required to conduct interviews. It is both an
expensive and time consuming method of

Anthropomorphism in Greek Myth Essay
Paper #1: The role of anthropomorphism in Greek mythology.
God created man in his image, and man, being a gentleman, returned the compliment.
Mark Twain
In his beginning, man was part of nature. He knew little about the causes of natural phenomenon and
certainly knew of no way to control them. This is perhaps the reason for his creation of ritual and later
religion. As man evolved he began to consider the possibilities of gaining some type of control over
his environment. If nature was simply a random set of events ruled only by chaos than this wouldn t
be possible. However, if something or better yet someone was in control, one could acquire what they
desired by pleasing this entity. In the beginning, according to some ... Show more content on

It is obvious therefore that there are, as always seems to be the case, exceptions; however in most
cases the gods are seen as similar to man s image. Aside form the human form, gods speak the same
language as the Greeks and use the same organs to do so, in other words, no telepathy. While they are
able in some cases to reproduce asexually, sexual reproduction seems to be the more often used
method. The asexual reproduction of Gaea produced Uranus, the Mountains, and Pontus. Later her
sexual reproduction with Uranus produced numerous offspring. While the use of sexual reproduction
was human like (obviously not exclusive to humans but still human like), the use of alternative
reproduction was represented in the myths. An example of such an alternative would be the
conception of the Giants and Erinyes by Gaea when the blood of Uranus fell onto her. While the
Greeks seem to have known that human reproduction was related to the sperm entering the woman,
they also seem to think the Gods had ways to bypass this requirement. Going along with this
observation of sperm into woman, they Greeks recognized the woman as the vessel in which life
developed, whether she attributed to this life s origination is another question. However there are some
exceptions to this such as when Zeus eats his pregnant wife, thus becoming the

Theme Of Hope And Despair By Douglas Coupland
Hope is stronger than despair. The short story by Douglas Coupland contains 2 major themes: hope
and despair. Although despair is mentioned a plethora of times, hope is much more overriding. Hope is
the sole reason why the narrator has never lost the sensation of always being on the brink of some
magic revelation (p.1). He then goes on saying that if only I would look closely enough at the world,
then that magic revelation would be mine. This line shows that the narrator still believes there is a
chance for him to get closure about what had happened recently (p.2). Also, his mom says people like
birds because they free us from the unique sorrow of being human (p.2). However, the narrator
disagrees with her despair and says that birds

Definition Essay On Sacrifice
When you go in search of honey, you must expect to be stung by bees. ― Joseph Joubert. According
the Merriam Webster Dictionary sacrifice is defined as destruction or surrender of something for the
sake of something else . The second definition is something given up or lost . Do you really
understand the definition of sacrifice? Have you ever felt like you ve sacrificed something for a
greater gain? Sacrifice can be a hard thing to do sometimes but the action that belongs to the word has
changed the course of history time after time. To better understand the meaning of sacrifice and what
it encompasses we must first look at its synonyms. The Merriam Webster Dictionary list terms such as
forfeit , yield , surrender . offer , and suffer . These terms suggest that some sort of struggle might
have ensued leaving another to sacrifice which they may have not been ready to give. The implication
is that if you re sacrificing your losing, or if you re sacrificing your becoming submissive. It also
suggests that people that sacrifice had no other choice but to do so. While for some this maybe the
case for all it is not. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Bird Life In The Daintree Rainforest
Evolution is the process by which a population shows heritable genetic changes over a period of time.
Hypothetically, a unique bird adapted to the rainforest and passed on those traits to the next
generation. This bird lacks feathers, swims, and uses its extra sharp beak in order to survive in a rainy,
humid, and tropical environment with other animals. If the bird lives in the Daintree Rainforest, it
would have to adapt to an average of 2013 mm of rain per year, about 120 days of rain each year, and
floods due to the heavy rain. With this abundance of water, flora and fauna thrive. Fruit, flowers,
insects and spiders, baby opossums, and lizards are available for our featherless bird. Although, it

Broadcasting Corporation s Decision On Broadcast Jerry...
Introduction What I intend to write about
In this report, I will be assessing the British Broadcasting Corporation s decision to broadcast Jerry
Springer: The Opera back on 8th January 2005. In order to judge the decision, I will be looking at the
reasons why the BBC made the decision to air it in 2005. I will be comparing the number of people
who complained to the BBC to the total amount of people who watched the broadcast using viewing
figures and charts. In addition, I will also look at the viewpoints of the Christian Voice Campaign who
argued against the opera. Finally, I will also be using my knowledge of Utilitarianism and Kantianism

BBC s arguments for their decision on televising Jerry Springer: The Opera
According to figures from BBC News, over 1.7 million people tuned in to watch the opera. The report
continues to state that there were 317 phone calls made to the BBC since the transmission and a mass
of them were very supportive. [3] However, there was an overall high figure of 63,000 complaints
about the opera and it became the most criticised television programme ever. [4] (Inglis, Media Ethics.
2014 pers. comm., 8th December) Despite the number of complaints, the BBC defended their decision
on broadcasting the opera through a corporation spokesman. The spokesman said that the BBC
conformed to their choice of televising the contentious opera and that it endures to be shown to
congested audiences in London s theatres. [5] This statement shows that there were people interested
in the opera by the time the BBC broadcasted it. The spokesman continues by saying that the
corporation were proud to see that a broad range of crowds were able to witness a vital modern
musical work. [6] (Created with Microsoft Works Spreadsheet.) BBC News. 2005. Springer opera

Future Abnormal Psychology Class
To all future Abnormal Psychology students, Professor Lamorte is very straight to the point with his
lecture and you will definitely find this class interesting if you enjoy learning about abnormal
behaviors and abnormal mental disorders. The class runs very smoothly with a power point
presentation about designated chapters, and most of the time the professor does the talking. I suggest
you pay attention to specific examples being said by students and the professor, just in case you may
want to use them as reference on your exam. This will only apply if you decide to take the take home
open ended exam rather than the 50 multiple choice in class version. This class is extremely
entertaining in the sense that you will not get bored. Professor Lamorte always pairs his lectures with
very interesting videos that supplement the academic lecture, and I must say that he is very good at
making sure that these videos will captivate your imagination with all the new and interesting
knowledge being presented. Another thing that I m sure you all will enjoy about this class is that he
has a great sense of humor, and he always tries to bring laughter to the class. It seems that laughing
can be a medicine, and Professor Lamorte seems to always use comedy and laughter to make the best
out of a situation. For example, he may use standup comedy to portray some behaviors associated with
specific disorders and create a more positive and pleasant approach to such. Also, the kinds of videos
he will show in class are very good so that you get an idea of the kinds of people and cases you will be
dealing with. It provides you with enough material to decide whether or not abnormal psychology is
something you want to pursuit further. It exposes you to situations that will allow you to have insight
on what is like to be a therapist dealing with different types of clients.
A mistake that I personally made during the semester was to take the multiple choice version of the
test, even when I was aware that I don t do well in multiple choice exams. One of the advantages of
taking this course with Professor Lamorte is that he gives you the option to pick between a multiple
choice exam and an open ended take home essay exam. If you consider

A Business With A Second Patent For Electric Motors
In 1895 John Lincoln resolved to open a business with a second patent for electric motors. He founded
this business with just 200 dollars. His start up cost was the earnings he received from redesigning a
single motor for Herbert Dow. His business launched out of a small one room factory. In 1906 he
spread his wings and erected a new 3 story factory. He filled those three stories with 30 new
employees and the sales shot through the roof.
Shortly after, his younger brother came on board as the Vice President and General Manager. John was
an engineer and inventor by heart so he ultimately detached from his company and handed over the
reins to his younger brother James. James initially came into the company in 1907 after leaving school

motto which is The actual is limited, the possible is immense . Analyzing this gives the assumption
that what they currently have and can do is currently constrained, but that possibilities over time are

James had a particular view on the incentive management plan. This was directed at the stakeholders.
They did not earn their bonuses and were considered absent from the whole project. They received
undeserved profits from the company who worked hard for the products. The company was focused
on the customers and employees before they were concerned with the stakeholders.

Analysis Of The Giving Tree By Shel Silverstein
In the text The Giving Tree By Shel Silverstein, he wrote about a tree and a boy, which didn t really
mean that he decided to write a book about a boy who received items from a tree, he used the tree to
replace it as someone who loves the little boy. The author wanted to convey an idea of how you should
appreciate the sacrifices the people makes for you. Other people makes sacrifices for you to make you
happy. They are being generous to others. This is what Shel Silverstein wanted to convey through the
book The Giving Tree. You can tell that Shel Silverstein wanted his readers to think of the idea of
appreciating the sacrifices other people makes for you because he continuously write how the tree was
happy when she gave away and made sacrifices to make the boy happy. It made her happy and she

What he asked the tree for wasn t what he really what the boy needs, he is asking for what he wants

on in the text it states, I want a boat that will take me far away from here. As you can see, what the
boy asks is not out of need, it is out of want and he doesn t do anything that shows the appreciation of
how generous the tree is in giving him what he wants. The author shows that the tree doesn t feel
appreciated by the boys attitude by saying, And the tore was happy... but not really. This shows that
even though the tree was usually always happy when she gave away herself to the boy, this time she w
s still happy because she helped someone but she was a little sad at the way the boy kind of ignored

Society is designed to get you to spend every penny you make and them some. The more you make,
the more you are led to believe you should spend. (Bach 2002). Bach goes on to express that
consumers do not recognize how these debts or expenditures add up to hundreds and sometimes
thousands of dollars in additional costs when interest rates are calculated in over the long term.
Poor financial control can also result in other difficulties in life, emotional problems, relationship
problems and some times destructive behaviors. With the average credit card interest rate at 20 percent
and rising and overall increasing gas prices, increases in consumer goods, it is no wonder that
American s suffer emotional distress and anxiety over debt. According to Lawrence, the typical

affecting American culture negatively by promoting detrimental stereotypes. Maybe Brown People

Nakagawa says people who speak about race the most are those who don t have authority or accurate
knowledge. When we talk about different races we usually talk about what we have heard, not what
we actually know. Kathryn Sorrels, the author of the book, Intercultural Communication:
Globalization and Social Justice said, Often the assumptions, stereotypes, and attitudes we hold about
people from different cultures or distant countries come solely or primarily through media and popular
forms such as movies, TV programs, and celebrities (Sorrels 125). Sorrels then gets her audience to
think about if it is the producers fault or the actors fault for taking the role. Sorrels later talks about the
3 areas to look at when studying popular culture. Only 2 and 3 are very important, (2) textual analysis,
where the actual product or text the TV program or film ... is analyzed for symbolic meaning and
narrative content; and (3) audience analysis, where the means and interpretations that
viewers/reader/listeners decode from popular from popular culture text are investigated. The
information is something to consider when viewing a sitcom, how does the audience know if the
information is accurate. Most viewers just believe most of what they see on

Research Paper on Anabolic-androgenic Steroids
Research Paper on Anabolic androgenic Steroids
Anabolic androgenic steroids are a group of hormones, which includes the natural male hormone,
testosterone, and a number of synthetic compounds. Anabolic refers to muscle building, while
androgenic refers to increased masculine characteristics. Anabolic effects are basically muscle growth.
Androgenic effects produce secondary male sex characteristics like facial hair, body hair, deepening of
the voice, and so on. In the 1950 s scientists were trying to isolate the muscle building properties
without the masculinizing effects. This lead to the development of synthetic anabolic steroids.
The word steroid simply means a class of drugs . Steroids are hormones ... Show more content on

Overall steroids are illegal, and dangerous, but they are still used by many people. Steroids go straight
to the bloodstream, quicker if they are injected. When taken orally they first go through the liver.
Basically steroids work like this: A steroid enters the bloodstream and is carried into the muscle cell
by diffusion then it binds to a receptor site. (These are certain areas in a cell that are receptive to free
floating molecules in the blood). The connection formed lets the steroid send a message to the receptor
site to have some sort of a metabolic change in the cell. This is primarily increased protein synthesis
and nitrogen retention (Taylor 143 145). This leads to increased size and strength in the muscle cell.
There are a number of ways that anabolic steroids are used including medical uses. Some people take
steroids orally, by injection, or by rubbing gels or creams onto skin. Abusers take 10 100 times larger
doses than would be prescribed by a doctor (Blue and Lombardo 98).
Stacking is a way of using. This means the abuser takes two or more different anabolic steroids.
Sometimes they mix oral and injectable types. Some people even use compounds that are used for
veterinary uses. These abusers who use stacking think that the effect of the mixing of the drugs will
have a greater affect than using them alone. This theory has now been scientifically researched though

Muhammad Ali Is NOT a Hero Essay
Muhammad Ali Is NOT a Hero
To be a hero, someone could save others, respect their country, and care. The firefighters from the Fire
Department of New York have all of these characteristics, even thought they aren t perfect. Everyday,
they risk their lives to save others. They show their patriotism even on the trucks they drive through
the cities. Most of all they don t just do it because it s their job; they do it because they care. Unlike
the people at FDNY, Muhammad Ali is violent, separatist, and rude.
The first reason Muhammad Ali isn t a hero is because he is violent. For almost all of his life he
fought in boxing matches that all started when he was a boy because he wanted to beat up the kid who
stole his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second reason Muhammad Ali isn t a hero is he was a separatist who did not respect his country.
He became part of the Nation of Islam. They believed Blacks should break off from other Americans.
Also, in April 1967, Ali refused induction into the U.S. Army, claiming exempt status as a Muslim
minister (Abeles). When asked why he dodged the draft, Ali replied, I ain t got no quarrel with them
Viet Cong, no Viet Cong ever called me n (Biography.com). Because his separatist beliefs and actions,
Muhammad Ali did not show respect for his country.
The third reason Muhammad Ali isn t a hero is because he is rude. He would always taunt his
opponents. Before one of his matches, he taunted Liston calling him the bear and verbally defused the
famous stare as being just plain ugly (Myers 46). When Ali fought George Foreman in Zaire, he had
the Africans chant Ali bumbaye which means Ali kill him (When). Some sportswriters were against
Ali for this reason. Only a rude man like Muhammad Ali would do and say these things.
Because of his violence, rudeness, and separatist beliefs, Muhammad Ali in no way compares to the
men at the Fire Department of New York. While they have saved lives, Muhammad Ali has just beaten
people up. Spiderman is another example of a hero; he saved lives, respected his country, and cared
for the people he was saving. FDNY is just as good as Spiderman,

Mrs. Ferguson s An Emotional Breakdown
Mrs. Ferguson sniffled. Out of her nose oozed a slimy strand of pale, green liquid. Her runny nose was
not caused by the cold, though it was very cool this time of year. No, she had in fact just lost her 45
year old husband, who had been murdered. When she had received word of the tragic event, she had
suffered an emotional breakdown. She had desperately demanded to know who the killer was, but the
man who she was speaking with on the phone had told her that the police had no idea, but they were
investigating. She had hung up, and cried constantly. By the time her tears had stopped spilling, her
cheeks had been covered with a crusty coating of dried tears.Need descriptive words. Currently, she
was at the local cemetery, where all around, freshly fallen snow twinkled and glistened on the once
green ground. The pale gray pathway had been shoveled, however, so that people could get around the
cemetery easily. Mrs. Ferguson was listening attentively to the pastor, who was describing Mr.
Ferguson s life. Only Mr. Ferguson s close family had been invited to attend the funeral, so they all
knew every detail of his life, but it was common practice to read it all anyways. Bobby Ferguson had
been a doctor. An anesthesiologist, to be precise. Whenever someone was to have surgery or give
birth, for example, he would give them medicine to make them sleep until the pain of it was over.
Now, Mrs. Ferguson thought gloomily, it was his turn to rest. It had been Bobby s goal to be a

John Farley Quote Analysis
...You believe you are the masters of the world, but your reign as kings and gods is at an end. Until
you recognize us as human, as an equal, the fight will be at your door. Not on the battlefield, but in
your cities. In your streets. In your homes. And we will rise up, Red as the dawn.
~ Farley. In Red Queen, Chapter 3, Page 36.
This quote from Red Queen was said by Farley in a recording that was broadcasted by a news station
for the silvers. This quote was part of a speech on what was a threat towards the silver. It represents
what the scarlet guard is going to do to the silver. In the first chunk of the quote, Farley said You

of Red Queen. In the first section of the quote she explains, In school, we learned about the world
before ours. Where angels and gods lived in the sky, ruling over the earth with kind and loving hands.
I believe the section describes what the Silvers supposed to act as. They were meant to represent Holy
spirits or kind and loving people. This clearly isn t the case for the silver population. An example of
this is Queen Elara. She is a silver, What is a very cruel person towards Mare Barrow. She tortured
Mare with her abilities of telekinesis and telepathy and laughed at Mare s pain. In the second section
of the quote it says, Some say those are just stories but I don t believe that. They have come down
from the stars. And they are no longer kind. The section explains that the people who believe these

Mussolini Fascism Analysis
The popularity of Mussolini s fascism among returning veterans was not only because of the
comradery that Mussolini shared with them, but also the role that veterans played in fascismo. Welk
(1938, 8 9), notes a publication in which, Mussolini campaigned for the right of returned soldiers to
lead Italy towards becoming a great nation and a new world power. In order to understand how
powerful this image was, it is important to understand the Post war Italian economy. Though Italy had
claimed victory in 1918, it came at the cost of the lives of approximately 600 thousand Italian soldiers,
and nearly everyone in Italy outside of war profiteers exited the war more impoverished. Particularly,
the transition from war to peace time production was a slow and painful process. Thus, while Italy
claimed military victory, the post war economy was not only crippled but also disorganized. This left
laborers eager to lend their ears to a solution, and two powerful but contrasting ideologies to vie for
their support. The first to consider is Communism. A year before, communism had claimed an
important victory in the Russian revolution of 1917. The decisive victory of the Russian proletariat in
Welk s (1938, 9 11) opinion provoked Italian communists to encourage the same in Italy. The
following years were characterized by strikes, and worker s seizing the means of production, as the
working class attempted to seize power throughout the nation. One notable example occurred on April
10, 1919,

The Effects Of Pornography And Relationships
Pornography and Relationships Nowadays, we see sexual images through advertisements, movies,
social media and books everyday to an extent that these images are considered normal. Many people
argue that watching porn can hurt and destroy relationships. According to many doctors and
researchers, pornography can be harmful for one s body and their relationships. Studies and surveys
show that women are the ones who are affected by male porn the most. Although this debate is not a
new subject, it is far from resolved. The majority of women are unhappy with the fact that their
partners view pornography because they believe that porn reduces the relationship commitment. On
the other hand, some argue that watching porn can actually help to improve sexual needs in
relationships. Looking at the studies and researches, it is clear that watching porn is more harmful than
beneficial for a relationship. Peg Streep, the author of What Porn Does to Intimacy article, reasons
why viewing pornography is bad for romantic relationships. She believes that pornography should not
have a role in serious relationships, and she supports her claim by using different studies and
researches. Streep writes that the number of men who think that watching porn is okay when they are
in a relationship, are much more than women who have the same mindset. Streep points out three
reasons why she believes that porn can hurt relationships. The first reason is that couples who watch
porn alone are more likely to

King Lear Act 1 Scene Essay
King Lear Act 1 Scene
What impact did Act 1 Scene 1 of King Lear have on you?
The first scene of the first act of King Lear had a genuinely dramatic affect upon me.
This first glimpse into the world of Lear and his subordinates sets the premise for the whole play,
unravelling within the first few pages, themes which I believe will become increasingly evident. The
scene opens with the introduction of three characters Kent, Gloucester and Edmund. Of these three
characters the only one who seems not to have been shown in an unfavourable light yet, by this brief
introduction, is Kent. This could be intentional to set It is made clear Edmund is a bastard, and
therefore illegible for proper acknowledgement as the son of an Earl. ... Show more content on

At this point of the scene it can be clearly noticed how similar Goneril and Regan are, as Regan asks
Lear to measure her worth as he measured Goneril s. This closeness seems symbolic in a way to the
close knit coven in Macbeth, as these women seem to have underlying deceptive qualities. Before
considering Cordelia s answer to Lear, we must note her comments made during Goneril and Regan s
speeches . This is keen use of the aside speech by Shakespeare as the audience would be able to hear
Cordelia s confusion over what her response shall be and her truthful belief that her love is more
ponderous than her tongue. Her indecision over what to say to her father shows really how much she
does not want to offend him, but instead she does the opposite, as he cannot see beyond his pride, to
her loyal words.
When she says Nothing , she is indicating to him that he should no the worth of her love for him. The
king, shocked with this appearance of ingratitude in his favourite child, desired her to consider her
words, and to mend her speech, lest it should mar her fortunes. Cordelia then tells Lear that she loves
him according to her station, and as much as he loves her as his daughter. She is as she says
young...and true . Lear is obviously hurt but it seems, due to the severity of his actions, that his pride
and title have been harmed more. He disowns her and she becomes his sometime daughter . At this
point Kent intervenes on Cordelia s behalf

Ethical Issues Related to the Cloning Debate
The act of cloning a human being comes dangerously close to human beings acting as God. Do human
beings have the right to tamper with nature in this way? This essay explores the various ethical issues
related to the cloning debate, and seeks answers to this deep philosophical question at the heart of
bioethics. As a student of genetic biology and future biologist, this question also has personal
relevance. Our science is evolving at a rapid pace. As human cloning becomes increasingly possible, it
is important that we analyze the ethics of cloning so that judicious public policy can be created. It is
therefore my position that research into cloning should continue to fulfill the fundamental goals of
scientific exploration and to explore the possibilities that cloning might have in terms of benefitting
human society; on the other hand, there are certainly ethical limits to the practice of cloning. It is
important to define those ethical limits, so that scientists understand the best ways to proceed.
Cloning is already happening in laboratories around the world, and especially in countries with few
restrictions on scientific research. As Tierney points out, Singapore and South Korea are spearheading
cloning research as if scientists in those countries are keen to make major medical breakthroughs. This
is partly because of the lack of formal taboos against cloning, which are embedded in European
cultures and also in North America. It therefore makes sense that the outcry

The Health System Of The Healthcare It Program Should Be A...
The most important quality an individual should possess to get through the Healthcare IT program
would be a good support system. An individual cannot succeed without a healthy support system.
Without personal support and professional support, an individual would travel a very difficult road to
success. A good personal support system includes support from friends, family, or any individual that
plays a key role within someone s personal life. Work support includes a company that is willing to
support and provide help with educational needs such as tuition reimbursement and other incentives. A
manger that merits the decision to stay in school and the benefits associated with staying and
completing the said degree. Co workers that keep the individual on track and provide guidance are
very important in a work related support system. Developing and maintaining a personal and work
support system should go hand in hand. Just having one and not the other would still prove
challenging for any individual to stay on track and complete the program.
(A2). An initial concept or idea that was completely incorrect about the Health Informatics program
that has changed with progression within the program is the difficulty and time demands of the
program. The Health Informatics program is very time demanding and can be very difficult at times if
not enough time is spent immersed in every class and course. An individual can work at his or her
pace to complete necessary program courses and

A Brief Note On The Documentary Program Essay
Documentary Program Essay I have met so many people who have given me a new perspective to
look at the world, who struck me with their values and characteristics, who have become inspirations
in my stories. I would like to tell stories that reflect certain problems and bring awareness to the
society. Here is a story that I would like to explore in depth: For decades, the phenomena of human
trafficking and smuggling in China have never stopped. While poor women and children were
trafficked for sexual exploitation and adoption, many young men were voluntarily smuggled to the
West due to their belief in having a richer and better life overseas . People pay money to the
snakeheads who have connections overseas and be shipped in cargo ships: some died of suffocation
during the journey, and some were detained in prisons and deported. Fujian, a southern province, has
been a hotbed of trafficking and smuggling in China. For more than a century, Fujianese had been
moving to the West both legally and illegally. Death or bitter lives have never taken away their desires
to earn money and prestige, but they have been living a hard life that outsiders could never have
imagined, and they would never be the insiders of these western countries.
Storyline
In Queens, there is a huge community of Chinese immigrants. Many of the people were smuggled into
the United States. These people live in a grey area: they are separated from their families and couldn t

Scrooge Character Analysis
Scrooge is a very angry, rude, unfriendly character. Scrooge s cruel actions to most others are unkind,
especially when it s about Christmas. The bitterness drive in Scrooge against Christmas is very strong.
Scrooge also hates things such as love, happiness, generosity, and regards them as irrational until such
time that a rightful trio of ghosts came to set him right. Charles Dickens paints him as an old
businessman, with a ring of frosty white hair on his head, a pointed nose, red eyes, thin eyebrows, and
a wiry chin. He s so cold inside, it makes his lips blue, the tip of his nose strawberry red. The book
describes him as hard and sharp as flint, self contained, and solitary like an oyster. He is also described
as a greedy man. One last feature is his shrew, grating voice, and on page 1 of the 1st Stave, Charles
writes ...no wind that blew, blew bitterer than he, no falling snow more intent upon its purpose.... .
Scrooge can be an very unfriendly person to be around on the holidays, or in general.
Scrooge describes the first of the three spirits that visited him a person who looks like a cross between
a kid and an old man, or a grandpa. This ghost is named The Ghost of Christmas Past, and the spirit is
illustrated as a ghost whose appearance is constantly changing. So, say, one minute he has two legs,
the next he has eighteen, or he has a head, then he s the Headless Horseman. Furthermore, he has a
light emanating from the top of his head, and it is very, very

Songwriters Message
Music plays an important role in an individual and in society because many are able to connect with
the kinds of emotions that songs convey. Through a clever combination of rhythms, beats, harmonies,
and creative lyrics, a song can evoke a certain mood and reveal a message with many different
emotions attached. In this way, people are drawn to certain types of music and can connect with the
song s meaning or emotional release. Songwriters typically use techniques similar to that seen in
poetry to adequately reveal meaning in their songs. It appears that some songs are better than others at
conveying their message to an audience. Songs with similar themed messages can be compared,
although every individual has their own unique reaction to music. In terms of sufficiently carrying a
message to the audience, I think that Where is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First of all, the problems described in the song are relevant to almost anyone. Many have suffered the
effects of discrimination, crime, or violence, for example, and have felt the need to find help as a

singers are continually pleading, Where is the Love, because they are fed up with society s issues and
cannot find the solution. They speak realistically but their tone is motivational, inspiring the audience
to cease behaviors that create negativity. The listener wants to find the love described as much as the
pleading singer. Interestingly, the entire song incorporates rhetoric and rhetorical questioning to fully
make its point. The singers ask, Is the world insane? because of continuous social warfare and if the
audience Would turn the other cheek? on someone oppressed. This technique is very effective in
convincing the audience that something is wrong in the world and that steps need to be taken to

She is going to Guinea I said for she is gong to be a star. She s going to be a butterfly or a lark in a

The passage fits into the work as a whole as it repeats the image, the symbol throughout the story. (A

her journey of life is now ended.
This passage, raise in me a question, is Martine really free? And, is death the only way to let people

War Of 1812 Research Paper
In 1812, The U.S. declared war on Great Britain. However, was this war really a necessary war? I
believe this war was not necessary for three reasons. The first reason the war was not necessary was
because the British did not want war with the U.S.. The British were already in a war with France and
this wasn t a fair war for them. The second reason the war of 1812 wasn t justifiable was because the
British were even willing to stop interfering with American Wars so the war wouldnt start. They sent a

after the declaration of war. One of the reasons America declared war was because of the BRitish

How Does Octavia Butler s Use Of Protection
Octavia Butler s indirect use of characterization creates a Motif of protection in 1815 and in 1976. By
characterizing Kevin, Dana, and Nigel as Protective according to their personality. Octavia Butler
reveals the element of protection needed both in the past and the present, which helps create the cause
of white supremacy and results in violence because of the abuse and conflict as it follows. Susan
Elizabeth Phillips says: I finally figured out that not every crisis can be managed. As much as we want
to keep ourselves safe, we can t protect ourselves from everything. If we want to embrace life, we also
have to embrace chaos. (Phillips). Knowing protection cannot be given in both the past and the present
but can be prevented and prepared for. Susan says we can t protect yourself from everything and this
shows the relationship in both Dana, Kevin, Nigel, and Rufus that everything cannot be predicted or
foreseen without context clues.
Octavia Butler reveals Nigel trying to protect Dana from Tom W. owing to the fact that he tells her to
be mindful about how she speaks, because of this: he doesn t like any free and educated black (Butler
74). Octavia Butler reveals the people in the past by presenting the element of being protected and
risking one s life for another. The past reveals having someone to protect Dana which gives her a

The hypothesis helps the investigator to collect the right kind of data needed for the investigation. Hypotheses are also important because they help an investigator to locate information needed to resolve the research problem or sub problems (Leedy and Ormrod, 2001). In research, an investigator is able to either support or reject a hypothesis. If a hypothesis is rejected, it will lead an investigator to new hypothesis to explain the phenomenon in question. If a hypothesis is continually supported, it may evolve into a theory (Leedy and Ormrod, 2001). Three possible outcomes that can result from this: 1.) Research based on education and wages. 2.) There is a need for the industries HR department to review their education policy. 3.) • 8. Examples Of Justice And Punishment In King Lear Justice, Punishment, and Mercy It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves. One of William Shakespeare s most famous and commonly used quotes is an important juxtaposition to how Shakespeare wrote some of his plays, while it seems he did not believe as much in divine destiny or action, but in the action of oneself physically, and how that affects one s life. In both King Lear and Measure For Measure by Shakespeare, there are three very important themes that were influenced by the times in which they were written justice, punishment, and mercy. The difference between the two is in first play, those three themes are completed in divine actions, while in the second play the trio are meted out by the actions of characters within the play. Punishment in the 1600 s was often a from of public entertainment in larger towns and cities, and was used to display and humiliate criminals. The acts committed by these criminals had a large range in severity, covering theft to sexual misdemeanors and treason. A common problem with these punishments though was consistency. Shakespeare was able to illustrate some of these inconsistencies in both of his plays Measure For Measure and King Lear. Shakespeare not only was able to provide a beautiful form of entertainment to all of the separate classes, while also appealing to educations of all levels and political and social issues without causing uproar; what he was able to do is a mastery of writing and understanding of the ... • 10. Anthropomorphism in Greek Myth Essay Paper #1: The role of anthropomorphism in Greek mythology. God created man in his image, and man, being a gentleman, returned the compliment. Mark Twain In his beginning, man was part of nature. He knew little about the causes of natural phenomenon and certainly knew of no way to control them. This is perhaps the reason for his creation of ritual and later religion. As man evolved he began to consider the possibilities of gaining some type of control over his environment. If nature was simply a random set of events ruled only by chaos than this wouldn t be possible. However, if something or better yet someone was in control, one could acquire what they desired by pleasing this entity. In the beginning, according to some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is obvious therefore that there are, as always seems to be the case, exceptions; however in most cases the gods are seen as similar to man s image. Aside form the human form, gods speak the same language as the Greeks and use the same organs to do so, in other words, no telepathy. While they are able in some cases to reproduce asexually, sexual reproduction seems to be the more often used method. The asexual reproduction of Gaea produced Uranus, the Mountains, and Pontus. Later her sexual reproduction with Uranus produced numerous offspring. While the use of sexual reproduction was human like (obviously not exclusive to humans but still human like), the use of alternative reproduction was represented in the myths. An example of such an alternative would be the conception of the Giants and Erinyes by Gaea when the blood of Uranus fell onto her. While the Greeks seem to have known that human reproduction was related to the sperm entering the woman, they also seem to think the Gods had ways to bypass this requirement. Going along with this observation of sperm into woman, they Greeks recognized the woman as the vessel in which life developed, whether she attributed to this life s origination is another question. However there are some exceptions to this such as when Zeus eats his pregnant wife, thus becoming the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although despair is mentioned a plethora of times, hope is much more overriding. Hope is the sole reason why the narrator has never lost the sensation of always being on the brink of some magic revelation (p.1). He then goes on saying that if only I would look closely enough at the world, then that magic revelation would be mine. This line shows that the narrator still believes there is a chance for him to get closure about what had happened recently (p.2). Also, his mom says people like birds because they free us from the unique sorrow of being human (p.2). However, the narrator disagrees with her despair and says that birds ... Do you really understand the definition of sacrifice? Have you ever felt like you ve sacrificed something for a greater gain? Sacrifice can be a hard thing to do sometimes but the action that belongs to the word has changed the course of history time after time. To better understand the meaning of sacrifice and what it encompasses we must first look at its synonyms. Introduction What I intend to write about In this report, I will be assessing the British Broadcasting Corporation s decision to broadcast Jerry Springer: The Opera back on 8th January 2005. In order to judge the decision, I will be looking at the reasons why the BBC made the decision to air it in 2005. I will be comparing the number of people who complained to the BBC to the total amount of people who watched the broadcast using viewing figures and charts. In addition, I will also look at the viewpoints of the Christian Voice Campaign who argued against the opera. Finally, I will also be using my knowledge of Utilitarianism and Kantianism while referencing the viewing figures and the BBC s general duty to the public to establish my ... • 15. Future Abnormal Psychology Class To all future Abnormal Psychology students, Professor Lamorte is very straight to the point with his lecture and you will definitely find this class interesting if you enjoy learning about abnormal behaviors and abnormal mental disorders. The class runs very smoothly with a power point presentation about designated chapters, and most of the time the professor does the talking. I suggest you pay attention to specific examples being said by students and the professor, just in case you may want to use them as reference on your exam. This will only apply if you decide to take the take home open ended exam rather than the 50 multiple choice in class version. This class is extremely entertaining in the sense that you will not get bored. Professor Lamorte always pairs his lectures with very interesting videos that supplement the academic lecture, and I must say that he is very good at making sure that these videos will captivate your imagination with all the new and interesting knowledge being presented. Another thing that I m sure you all will enjoy about this class is that he has a great sense of humor, and he always tries to bring laughter to the class. It seems that laughing can be a medicine, and Professor Lamorte seems to always use comedy and laughter to make the best out of a situation. For example, he may use standup comedy to portray some behaviors associated with specific disorders and create a more positive and pleasant approach to such. Also, the kinds of videos he will show in class are very good so that you get an idea of the kinds of people and cases you will be dealing with. It provides you with enough material to decide whether or not abnormal psychology is something you want to pursuit further. It exposes you to situations that will allow you to have insight on what is like to be a therapist dealing with different types of clients. A mistake that I personally made during the semester was to take the multiple choice version of the test, even when I was aware that I don t do well in multiple choice exams. One of the advantages of taking this course with Professor Lamorte is that he gives you the option to pick between a multiple choice exam and an open ended take home essay exam. If you consider ... Anabolic refers to muscle building, while androgenic refers to increased masculine characteristics. Anabolic effects are basically muscle growth. Androgenic effects produce secondary male sex characteristics like facial hair, body hair, deepening of the voice, and so on. In the 1950 s scientists were trying to isolate the muscle building properties without the masculinizing effects. This lead to the development of synthetic anabolic steroids. Overall steroids are illegal, and dangerous, but they are still used by many people. Steroids go straight to the bloodstream, quicker if they are injected. When taken orally they first go through the liver. Basically steroids work like this: A steroid enters the bloodstream and is carried into the muscle cell by diffusion then it binds to a receptor site. (These are certain areas in a cell that are receptive to free floating molecules in the blood). The connection formed lets the steroid send a message to the receptor site to have some sort of a metabolic change in the cell. This is primarily increased protein synthesis and nitrogen retention (Taylor 143 145). This leads to increased size and strength in the muscle cell. There are a number of ways that anabolic steroids are used including medical uses. Some people take steroids orally, by injection, or by rubbing gels or creams onto skin. Abusers take 10 100 times larger doses than would be prescribed by a doctor (Blue and Lombardo 98). Stacking is a way of using. This means the abuser takes two or more different anabolic steroids. Mussolini Fascism Analysis The popularity of Mussolini s fascism among returning veterans was not only because of the comradery that Mussolini shared with them, but also the role that veterans played in fascismo. Welk (1938, 8 9), notes a publication in which, Mussolini campaigned for the right of returned soldiers to lead Italy towards becoming a great nation and a new world power. In order to understand how powerful this image was, it is important to understand the Post war Italian economy. Though Italy had claimed victory in 1918, it came at the cost of the lives of approximately 600 thousand Italian soldiers, and nearly everyone in Italy outside of war profiteers exited the war more impoverished. Particularly, the transition from war to peace time production was a slow and painful process. Thus, while Italy claimed military victory, the post war economy was not only crippled but also disorganized. This left laborers eager to lend their ears to a solution, and two powerful but contrasting ideologies to vie for their support. The first to consider is Communism. A year before, communism had claimed an important victory in the Russian revolution of 1917. The decisive victory of the Russian proletariat in Welk s (1938, 9 11) opinion provoked Italian communists to encourage the same in Italy. The following years were characterized by strikes, and worker s seizing the means of production, as the working class attempted to seize power throughout the nation. Many people argue that watching porn can hurt and destroy relationships. According to many doctors and researchers, pornography can be harmful for one s body and their relationships. Studies and surveys show that women are the ones who are affected by male porn the most. Although this debate is not a new subject, it is far from resolved. The majority of women are unhappy with the fact that their partners view pornography because they believe that porn reduces the relationship commitment. On the other hand, some argue that watching porn can actually help to improve sexual needs in relationships. Before considering Cordelia s answer to Lear, we must note her comments made during Goneril and Regan s speeches . This is keen use of the aside speech by Shakespeare as the audience would be able to hear Cordelia s confusion over what her response shall be and her truthful belief that her love is more ponderous than her tongue. • 33. Ethical Issues Related to the Cloning Debate The act of cloning a human being comes dangerously close to human beings acting as God. Do human beings have the right to tamper with nature in this way? This essay explores the various ethical issues related to the cloning debate, and seeks answers to this deep philosophical question at the heart of bioethics. As a student of genetic biology and future biologist, this question also has personal relevance. Our science is evolving at a rapid pace. As human cloning becomes increasingly possible, it is important that we analyze the ethics of cloning so that judicious public policy can be created. It is therefore my position that research into cloning should continue to fulfill the fundamental goals of scientific exploration and to explore the possibilities that cloning might have in terms of benefitting human society; on the other hand, there are certainly ethical limits to the practice of cloning. It is important to define those ethical limits, so that scientists understand the best ways to proceed. Cloning is already happening in laboratories around the world, and especially in countries with few restrictions on scientific research. As Tierney points out, Singapore and South Korea are spearheading cloning research as if scientists in those countries are keen to make major medical breakthroughs. This is partly because of the lack of formal taboos against cloning, which are embedded in European cultures and also in North America. It therefore makes sense that the outcry ...
