Cars flying across the earth s sky and energy that powers our technology drawn from the sun; this is a
futuristic utopia solely depicted in movies in our modern society. Just two years ago the film Back To
The Future, predicted that we would live in a society like this, yet we have not come even close to
what we were shown in the theaters. Why is that? Well, popularity, and innovation are directly
proportional to each other. We tend to improve on things that we use in our everyday lives; coming out
with better phones, faster cars, and more advance military weapons. Going green and helping the
environment seems to be overshadowed in terms of importance due to the lack of potential profits
outweighing that of the former.
Switching to using solar power and helping the planet is a great and efficacious process and should be
come with a reward. In the sunshine state of Florida, we do not have the ability to power our homes
the green way with solar panels unless we connect it to the power grid, and in addition we are obliged
to pay the utility companies for maintenance of them. Solar panels are already quite costly to install;
Now if you live in Florida, you must pay extra fees for backup power. The main issue is all of the fees
from the utility company (on a monthly basis) can turn solar power from a way to save money and
save the environment to be more of a burden, as a consequence of the extra fees and paper work,
which turns a majority of people away. Solar power is a great way to go green, and this problem
should be resolved so all citizens can afford to make the switch to solar power.
The issue with solar panels is that in certain states it is very costly. So, the benefits of going

Being a successful student academically has always been important to me, from high school through
