What Are The Features Of Organizations And Formal,...
Objective Describe the features of organizations and bureaucracies formal, informal, gendered, and
network (Pages 179 195, 197). An organization is a collective purposely constructed to achieve
particular ends (pg 179). Sociology deals with organizations largely because of Max Weber s thinking
on a specific type of organization, the bureaucracies (pg 179). A bureaucracy is a highly rational
organization, especially one that is highly efficient (pg 179). In an ideal typical bureaucracy there is a
continuous series of offices, or positions, within the organization, each with its own function and set
of rules (pg 179). Other characteristics of a bureaucracy are: each office has a specified sphere of
competence, each of the offices exist in a vertical hierarchy, the positions have technical requirements,
those who hold those offices must undergo the needed training and do not own the things needed to do
the job for example, computers, desks, etc (pg 179). Lastly, those who occupy a particular office
cannot take the office as their own and everything of formal importance (administrative acts,
decisions, rules) is in writing (pg 180). Formal organization is how the organization is supposed to
work as in Weber s ideal typical formal bureaucracy, informal organization is how an organization
actually works as opposed to how it is supposed to work (pg 183). The informal organization can help
make up for inadequacies in the formal organization (Gulati and Puranam 2009).

Essay on Technology and Ethics
As the technological advancements are taking place day by day concerns are growing among the
various religious and ethical groups about the ethics involved in the kind of technology. As we know
that there are pros and cons of using any technology but sometimes many protest that the technologies
are more of used for the selfish purposes to fulfill human needs than to be beneficial for the mankind.
Lets take the most common example of Internet known as the fastest medium to communicate and
research, even advancing in the section of distance learning. As everyone in any part of the world are

The definition of Ethics: The rules or standards governing the conduct of a person or the members of a
profession. Ethics to me means that I should perform my work in a professional manner, respect others
and what they do. Meaning that software/music that someone else worked hard to create does not
mean that I can download it for free. Nor does it mean that I should be able to search through
somebody s personal files on their home pc. It also means that I may not attack companies via the
internet because I do not like what they do or what they stand for. Ethics in the IT industry can mean
many different things and have many different

After a cursory examination of present day world politics, it seems there exist no sterling examples of
society s progression towards utopia, or even a higher state of tolerance or knowledge. It is not that
humanity does not seek knowledge or improvement. It is not a fault that curiosity drives society s
scientists to explain and improve the world beyond the realm of the philosophers. The fault lies in how
easily this motive can be manipulated by the vices of greed, the propaganda

Main Causative Factor in the Failure of the DePuy ASR and...
Size of the devices:
The role of the large diameter ASR devices in males are linked with considerably lower metal ion
levels in contrast to the BHR devices, proposing that under perfect in vivo conditions the ASR has a
less wear rate than the BHR device (Underwood et al. 2011). Although, problems also occurred with
the smaller hip resurfacing implants among women and small men. It was discovered that these
implants did not lubricate as well, unlike the bigger implants and therefore they produced a large
amount of metal debris and produced a very concentration of metal ions in the blood. (Cohen 2012).
Acetabular component:
The BHR hip device is more innovative than the ASR device as it has a hole used for wires to fix the
introducer. The ASR device does not have this. (Underwood et al. 2011).
Positioning of the components:
The difference can be seen in the sub optimally positioned components within 10Β° of Lewinnek s safe
zone in the occurrence of edge loading and rate of wear in both the ASR and the BHR devices
(Underwood et al. 2011).
Wear and inclination of the acetabular component:
A major positive correlation was seen between the wear and inclination of the acetabular component
with the BHR device (p = 0.01) which was not seen with the ASR device (p = 0.6). This suggests
either that the ASR devices have a higher wear rate at all inclinations or that the safe zone that escapes
edge loading is a lot thinner than that of the BHR device (Underwood et al. 2011).

Analysis Of RFP For ATM Monitoring
A judgement call that I made which did not allow for analysis or information gathering due to time
constraints was when a large Southern Financial institution that I was leading Distributed Service
Delivery for put out a large RFP for ATM monitoring; they had approximately 3600 ATMs all being
serviced and monitored by Diebold, as the Program Manager over this account all RFPs ran through
me. I pulled in what experts we had on ATM monitoring to provide a thorough response document, it
was assumed throughout my company that we were likely being used solely for leverage with Diebold
more so than having a chance at this business. We were told within a couple weeks that Diebold was
being awarded the bid so I stopped our internal evaluations on ... Show more content on

I had a Team responsible for Monitoring and Management of thousands of endpoint network devices
for this customer in an offsite location with desks available. Connectivity to the ATMs was quickly
available due to already having connectivity within the customers network, I just needed resources and
training. I had daily scrum type calls with Recruiting to track progress, make sure interviews could get
quickly setup, and knock down any blockers slowing them down.
Recruiting stepped up and sourced 5 of the 7 resources within three weeks and my RIMM Team with
the addition of these 5 resources and the shadowing from the customers tier 3 engineers were able to
successfully come up to speed and deliver on this new service. I had a complete team of 7 resources
before the end of the first 30 days.
This became a great win for Pomeroy and for the Customer. For the Customer, we were offering a tier
2 level Service at a tier 3 three price point, well under their original T1 provider in this space. We were
able to deliver through my Team the quality and speed that they wanted in responding to alerts and
issues, with an expanded Team being able to share the work across my full RIMM Team and over the

Disney Land
Executive Summary
This report is about the not so wonderful world of Euro Disney a.k.a (also known as) Disneyland
Paris. Euro Disney is Europe s No.1 family entertainment park. All the same it has had its moments of
ups and downs. This adventure that Euro Disney has been through has been full of surprise and
anticipation. The management have had to re evaluate their strategies in order to pull out of the crisis
facing them.
Every company must analyse the marketing mix, i.e. Product, Price, Promotion and Distribution while
planning their market entry strategy. Since the American management were successful while
launching the brand previously, in the USA and Japan, they thought it best to use the same formula in
Europe. They were met ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It highlights some of the key issues that can arise when multinational companies, such as Walt Disney
Co., enter foreign markets.
This report analyses the case and gives key recommendations for future launches based on a SWOT
analysis, market research and the international planning process as outlined in Cateora Graham
(2005).
The recommendations are directed to assist Walt Disney CO. in evaluating possible new locations for
another Disneyland.
2. Case Study Summary and The French Market
The key issues the case study is dealing with are: insufficient knowledge of the Disney s management
about the French culture and habits, a venturous initial financing, and wrong marketing and pricing
policies.
The Walt Disney Co. opened its first European Disneyland in Paris in April 1992. The Paris location
accepted the bid for the biggest and most lavish Disneyland by this time due to generous incentives of
the French government and the impressive demographic characteristics of this region. Since the
Disney management figured out that 310 million people or possible visitors can reach Euro Disney
within a two hours travel by plane, it was expected to attract 11 million visitors in the first year of
operation.
Euro Disney adopted an early advertising campaign to emphasize the details and size

The New York Times By Morgan Jerkins
Everyday people are born, and once people are born into their parents provide them with a name that
means something special to them, and their job is to uphold themselves neatly and carefully because
this name is something no one can take away. Names have a powerful meanings to them. Yet, the
power and elegance of a name doesn t matter to everybody because for those who have names that are
obtained for African descent will soon be labeled as people with a black name . As seen in a recent
debate article posted in The New York Times by author Morgan Jerkins offers a debate about Racism,
based on a name and questions the proposal How can employers confront the bias those with African
American names face in the job market? ( Jerkins). Debaters of this article argued and provided some
conformity for African Americans in detailing and explaining how some social barriers should be
dropped for black employees, and that some advisement of employment should be addressed since
they can weigh social barriers. While other debaters claimed that there was nothing wrong with this
controversy. This topic all comes back to the point where celebrity Raven Symone made a comment
about black names and how she wouldn t hire anybody with a name of this sort. The term black names
cannot be changed because this is something they are born with, but instead of work facilities
degrading someone on their name, instead they should see what this particular person can offer to the

The Gods of the Norse
The people of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland and the Faroe Islands are the Norse (people of the
north) or as they are known today, the Scandinavians. Norse religion and mythology began to take
place in the Bronze Age (A.D. 780 1070) and are the collected stories of the ancient religion of the
people from Scandinavia (Daly x). Daly states that Norse mythology did not start in the Scandinavian
area of Europe. Norse mythology originated, according to experts, in Asia, was modified in the
European Mediterranean lands and eventually was carried north and west by migrating Teutonic
tribes, in the third to sixth centuries A.D. during the break up of the Roman Empire. (Daly ... Show

(D aulaires 12). Only Niflheim (a waste of frozen fog) and Muspelheim (a place of raging flames)
existed. Between Niflheim and Muspelheim there was a gaping pit called Ginnungagap. As embers
and ice whirled around the dark, dismal pit they began to whirl faster and faster until fire created a
spark of life within the ice. The frost giant, Ymir, a jotun, and an ice cow emerged from the pit. Ymir
fell into a deep sleep. While he slept a male and female jotun formed from the warmth of his left
armpit and a six headed troll grew from his feet. The ice cow also brought life to this world. As she
licked and licked the saltiness of Ginnungagap a head of hair and then a whole body appeared from
under her tongue. Next, a handsome man and his son appeared. The son, Borr, married a jotun maiden,
Bestla. Together they had three sons who were so fair that they lit up the darkness around them. These
three sons Odin, Hoenir and Lodur were the first of the Aesir gods. They had the power to create a
world. To do this the brothers had to kill Ymir first. Successfully, the brothers killed Ymir and pushed
his body into Ginnungagap. Brine flowed from his wounds and flooded over the rim, creating the sea
and killing his offspring and the cow. The brothers then took Ymir s body out of the sea and began to
make the earth out of his body. The flesh became the land. The bones became the mountains. The teeth

One Laptop Per Child Analysis
Technology as we know it now and how we knew it yesteryear is a symbolic metaphor for racial
tensions and the way it is idealized in time and space, because it ultimately shapes the social
construction of race (67). The chapter challenges the linear timeframe in which people typically
idealize history, believing that modern day society and all it has created is good, better than the past,
and ultimately, progressive. This makes technology and the nostalgia of in need others to be saved
(62) mythical and ethnocentric because it assumes and stereotypes all other non technological
countries as struggling, unhappy, and envious of the west s technological savviness. These areas

Other areas like experiential access should also be encouraged if technology itself is being imposed on
these children, so they can have the opportunity to shape technology and its direction in their own
ways. The organization, their self, may be less aware of critical access, and less able to recognize the
problems, rather than just the benefits of technology, along with ways to resist or critically analyze it,
than those who are technologically out of sync. This may be because, particularly, westerners, have a
very narrow minded and biased idea of technology and that it is overall good, however those who do
not utilize it as much as we do, may have better hindsight and clearer visions of its truths. Overall,
technology is related to tension between global capitalism and philanthropy in the developing world,
which may be why some choose to opt out of it rather than be excluded from its use, and the need to

Persuasive Essay On Ivory Trade
Bloody Ivory Last year 35,000 elephants were killed because of poaching and ivory trade. Elephants
are poached for the ivory in their tusks. The ivory is mostly used for jewelry such as necklaces,
earrings, and bracelets. Ivory can also be used for the making of piano keys. I believe that the world
needs to make a stop to poaching and the ivory trade. With that i will share with you my arguments on
why i think we should stop poaching elephants.
Elephants are being killed by the hundreds every day, just for their ivory. According to a book called
Ivory, horn, And Blood , the use of elephant ivory goes all the way back to the Egyptian times.
Having ivory showed power and wisdom. An Egyptian king back in the day, made his servants carve
his throne entirely of ivory, to show his power and strength. I find that since people have been killing
elephants for ages, it will be a hard habit to break, but i also feel like it must be done. I believe that we
can replace ivory jewelry with gold or silver, because those elements are just material, while when you
are wearing ivory, you are wearing the part of an animal that was brutally massacred, just for the

According to an article published by Upfront Magazines, In Mozambique, the number of people living
inside one of the country s national parks grew to about 35,000 in 2012 from about 21,000 in 2001.
The explanation is that the elephants are destroying crops and the only way to stop them is to, you
know, destroy them, aka kill the elephants. I think that there should be other ways the farmers take
care of the problem. I think they need to think of the big picture when they are about to put the final
blow on the elephants. I believe that this is just one thing to add on to the pile for the struggle of
surviving for the elephants. But what the real reason the elephants are going extinct is because of
poaching,

The Debate Over Bilingual Education and Immersion Programs
In recent years, the debate over whether bilingual education or immersion programs (such as English

in the United States has been heating up. The increasing need for such services insights passionate
supporters and opposition to rise up against one another in the fight over which is better. Advocates of

A Little History Lesson
Bilingual education is not new. Contrary to popular belief, bilingual education programs were not
products of the 1960s. In fact, they aren t even products of the twentieth century. The first state to
actually pass a bilingual education law was Ohio, in 1839 (History of Bilingual Education, 1998). The
law was for German English bilingual education, and was passed as a result of a strong parental
initiative. By the end of the nineteenth century, about a dozen states had passed similar laws, and in
many other states such instruction was offered, although it had not been sanctioned by the state.
During the World War One era, however, as the loyalty of non English speaking Americans came
increasingly under suspicion, many states decided to enact English only instruction, in an attempt to
Americanize non English speakers. As a result, during the 1920s the bilingual education program had
been almost completely dismantled.
In response to the apparent failure of English only instruction, the United States government passed
the Bilingual Education Act in 1968, providing federal funds to local school districts, in an attempt to
promote the incorporation of native language instruction into school curricula. The government felt
that, leaving LEP students to sink or swim in English only classrooms made a mockery of public
education (History of Bilingual Education, 1998). Recognizing the civil rights of LEP students to have

Social Class Stratification In The United States
According to Kerry Ferris and Jill Stein in The Real World: An Introduction to Sociology, Social class,
a system of stratification practiced primarily in capitalist societies, ranks groups of people according
to their worth. It is difficult to draw exact lines between the social classes in the united states. The
most identified classes are upper class, middle and lower middle class. The upper class is just 1
percent and the middle class is 30 percent of the U.S population. Wealthy people erudite early in their
lives that whatever money came into their households, at least of 10 percent was paid for themselves
for saving purposes. They may have gone into the stock market; they may have invested in mutual and
bond funds. On the other hand, Middle class people use their income to pay their bills first. All ...

Middle class families spend a much larger share of their budget on basic necessities such as food at

upper class spends lots of money to celebrate their events. They buy special dresses according to
event. They decorated their houses and arrange big parties where they invite all their friends, which
belong to their class, but middle class cannot afford such type of luxuries in their life. In fact, the
upper class don t spend their money on depreciating charges, they spend their money on appreciating
wealth and they live below their means. The division between upper and middle class is clearly visible
in every society, whether of a developed or a developing country. They are totally different in their
education. Families work and their living philosophy. In truth, the difference between the middle class

Understanding Students Responses From The Australian...
1.0 Introduction Educators are required to interpret students responses to mathematical questions. The
purpose of this report was to provide an opportunity to examine the step by step approach to
answering problems, interrogate the results and recognise mathematical concepts. There are six
questions in total from the Australian Curriculum Assessment Reporting Authority [ACARA], (2012)
NAPLAN year nine numeracy non calculator test. The six questions mentioned in the report are
question 12, 14, 16, 18, 22 and 23. Each issue is set out in the report in numerical order with a screen

feelings, confidence and approach towards each question along with the type of mathematics used, the
year level suitable for each question according to the ACARA (2015) and alternative ideas for solving
the six questions. 2.1 Question 12 Reflection Initial thoughts were I could easily solve this because I

Serial Killers Of Jack The Ripper
Jack The Ripper was a serial killer in East End London, in the late 1888 s. No one knows who it is to
this day. There are several theories to who it could be, most are males but there is still a little doubt
that could have been a woman, maybe both? The only thing that is known for sure these women were
victims of him or her. Jack The Ripper was known for the way he murder, he left cuts on both sides of
the neck and made the knees or legs of the women up towards her chest or in the air; in some cases he
would destroy the body so bad that it was hard to identify who the victim was. One of the only reasons
police knew who the victims were in because Jack would write notes to the police office or the
newspaper company telling them who was killing next but not when. Jack The Ripper was a man of
pattern and rountie. His killings were all almost alike and his victims had profiles that matched each
other s.
Jack had five victims, who were all women; the women had a couple things in common, all but one of
the women were in their 40s, they were all drinkers, and most of the five women were known to be in
the business of prostitution. All five victims were found dead in poorly lit alley ways or stairways,
with their necks cut on either side and other lacerations throughout the body.
According to Josh Clark, this is what happened to the five victims of Jack The Ripper. Mary Nichols
was the first victim, found on August 31, 1888 at 3:45am. Mary was 44 years old who liked her
drinks. She was found in a narrow side street of Buck s Row in the Whitechapel; she had an eight inch
laceration to her throat that cut both of her major arteries and she had violent cuts on her abdomen.
Annie Chapman was the second victim, she was found on September 8, 1888 at 5:45am. Annie was a
47 year old widow who was a heavy drinker and survived through prostitution. Annie was found
outside an apartment at 29 Hanbury Street with a man of shabby genteel , a few minutes after her
being spotted with the man, a muffled scream of No! followed by a loud thump on the fence. Her body
was found in the backyard of the apartment, with her feet pushed up toward her body, knees in the air

Dollar Tree s strategy fits in the prospector s category of Miles and Snow s strategy framework. The
prospector s strategy defines a company as flexible and adaptive to environmental changes (Parnell,

How Inquiry Is The Process That Governs How Students Learn...
Inquiry is the process that governs how students learn within the contents of science education. The
textbook defined inquiry as the process that students should use to learn science (Martin, Sexton,
Franklin, Gerlovich, McElory 2009). They should be able to ask questions, use their questions to plan
and conduct a scientific investigation, use appropriate science tools and scientific techniques, evaluate
evidence and use it logically to construct several alternative explanations, and communicate their
conclusions scientifically (Martin, et. Al., 2009). In essence, students should grasp the knowledge that
is taught in science class, as well as share the finding in an educated manner with others. As we
examine inquiry, we will discuss what research says about inquiry, determine how inquiry looks inside
the classroom setting, discuss challenges that may arise teachers use inquiry based teaching in the
classroom setting, and share a personal reflection on the benefits of inquiry teaching and learning
based on the research presented. Inquiry is a multifaceted activity that involves making observations,
posing questions; examining books and other sources of information to see what is already known
(Villa Beptiste, 2014). This process uses tools to gather, analyze, and interpret data, proposing
answers, explanations, and predictions; and communicating the results (Villa Baptiste, 2014).
Therefore, it is widely accepted, as attested by the National Science Standards, that

Persuasive Essay On Solar Power
Cars flying across the earth s sky and energy that powers our technology drawn from the sun; this is a
futuristic utopia solely depicted in movies in our modern society. Just two years ago the film Back To
The Future, predicted that we would live in a society like this, yet we have not come even close to
what we were shown in the theaters. Why is that? Well, popularity, and innovation are directly
proportional to each other. We tend to improve on things that we use in our everyday lives; coming out
with better phones, faster cars, and more advance military weapons. Going green and helping the
environment seems to be overshadowed in terms of importance due to the lack of potential profits
outweighing that of the former.
Switching to using solar power and helping the planet is a great and efficacious process and should be
come with a reward. In the sunshine state of Florida, we do not have the ability to power our homes
the green way with solar panels unless we connect it to the power grid, and in addition we are obliged
to pay the utility companies for maintenance of them. Solar panels are already quite costly to install;
Now if you live in Florida, you must pay extra fees for backup power. The main issue is all of the fees
from the utility company (on a monthly basis) can turn solar power from a way to save money and
save the environment to be more of a burden, as a consequence of the extra fees and paper work,
which turns a majority of people away. Solar power is a great way to go green, and this problem
should be resolved so all citizens can afford to make the switch to solar power.
The issue with solar panels is that in certain states it is very costly. So, the benefits of going
completely green and relying on solar energy are not as great. In 2017, one of the biggest problems
facing contemporary society is global warming, which comes primarily from pollution. Pollution that
could be heavily reduced by going green. So, the pressure to go green is on; that being so, why does
the government appear to make going green such a challenge? In an article by Rolf Priesnitz titled
Generating our Own Power he mentions that the government is incentivizing citizens by giving out
loans so that they can afford to go

organisation respond to those pressures?
Kaplan International is the type of company that relies its sales growth on technology. The
organisation uses a wide range of online marketing options in order to get the attention of potential
customers and create lead generation. To create leads is the term the company uses for acquiring a new
potential customers contact details that can lead to a closed deal. As web technology is the main tool
to increase sales, Kaplan International needs to improve their websites constantly by making them
more user friendly. This improvement can go from changing the website s colour to creating a new
navigation structure. And this was the challenge Kaplan International had to face two months ago,
when its growth sales report was released to web marketing and sales department managers, stating
that the sales numbers were lower than last year. According to the report the current website was not
generating as many leads as usual. This change in numbers was the result of people just clicking on
the company s website, but never filling forms in order to request further product information.
The main internal pressure Kaplan International had to confront was to increment its leads. As
technology affects most operations within Kaplan International, effective decision making was crucial
for the company s improvement. Key questions such as: How do we

Analysis of The Giver Book by Lois Lowry
The Giver starts off as the ordinary story of an eleven year old boy named Jonas. When we meet the
protagonist, he is apprehensive about the Ceremony of Twelve, at which he will be assigned his job.
Although he has no clue as to what job he might be assigned, he is astonished when he is selected to
be the Receiver of Memory. He learns that it is a job of the highest honor, one that requires him to bear
physical pain of a magnitude beyond anyone s experience. As the story progresses, we realise that the
society in it is not as ordinary as it seems. Among the inklings that we get that something is unusual is
when the author describes elephants as imaginary creatures . Later we learn that this community is
governed by a Committee of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Jonas unintentionally transfers a memory to him. Gradually, Jonas develops an attachment to Gabriel,
one that mimics the familial attachments he has experienced in his memories. He forges a similar bond
with the Giver. Subsequently, Jonas discovers that release, the ultimate fate of old people, problematic
children and disobedient citizens, is synonymous with death. Jonas is shocked to see his own father
kill an innocent baby. Disgusted by his hypocrisy, Jonas refuses to go home. That night, the Giver and
Jonas devise a plan to change the community forever. According to the plan, Jonas will escape and the
Giver will remain to help the community deal with the memories that will return from Jonas.
However, Jonas is forced to change this plan and set out with Gabriel when he finds out that the latter
is to be released the following morning. With nothing but a few meals to help them through the
journey to Elsewhere, Jonas perseveres, seeking comfort in his memories. Eventually, they find their
way to a world full of colours, animals and seasons. The book ends on and ambiguous yet hopeful
note. The community depicted in the book

The Influence Of The Holocaust On Modern Society
The Holocaust was a phenomenon that occurred during the years leading up to and including the
Second World War in which Adolf Hitler and his governing Nazi party, systematically persecuted,
displaced and ultimately murdered millions of European Jews. This atrocity suffered by the Jewish
people has contributed to the shaping of modern society in ways such as the founding the United
Nations, a greatly reduced population of Jews in modern day Europe, and the establishment of the
Jewish state in Palestine/Israel.
Eastern Europe, consisting of a once great and vivacious Jewish population, was nearly completely
decimated by Adolf Hitler and his deep mistrust and repugnance against the Jewish people. It was

The Problem Of Sorcery And Witchcraft Essay
In the chapter The Problem of Sorcery and Witchcraft in the Age of Reformation, the section John
Calvin: Witchcraft and the Reformation discusses what is considered witchcraft, and why it is. In his
Sermon of Deuteronomy, John Calvin does this by distinguishing the roles of Enchanters, Sorcerers,
Calkers, workers with Familiars, and of such as ask counsel of the dead, within context of both old
and new testaments and the church reformation. In doing so, Calvin maintains the concept of
surrendering a soul to the devil in accordance to the continuing belief of witchcraft. In relation to other
documents within the chapter, the overall concept referring to an intensifying fear of witchcraft is
based on theological events in sixteenth century Europe during the church reformation. The document
by Calvin provides one of three viewpoints regarding witchcraft during this era; the three viewpoints
being Protestant, Catholic, or the notion that witchcraft in general is not real. However, despite the
differences of opinion, all sides seem to agree on the concept that witchcraft in general is not good.
In this particular document of the chapter, John Calvin, taking the protestant approach, describes the
concept of witchcraft as a pact between the devil and a witch; the witch being someone who practices
things such as enchantments, sorcery, speaking with the dead, etc. This relationship between the devil
and the witch is a direct result of what Calvin describes as:

Hamlet as Victim and Hero Essay
Hamlet as Victim and Hero
Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, a Shakespearean tragedy, tells the story of Prince Hamlet, who gained the
knowledge of a terrible incident that his kingdom had suffered. Claudius, the king of Denmark and
Hamlet s uncle, had killed his own brother, the king, who was also the father of Hamlet, and married
his brother s widow. Hamlet suffered these traumas to a severe degree, and his only relief was to
defeat his human weaknesses and correct the wrongs created by his uncle.
The soliloquy selected to describe the emotions of Hamlet, after discovering the evil doings of his
uncle, is found within the lines one hundred twenty nine to one hundred fifty nine (Hamlet Prince 71).
Hamlet s first reaction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet s Mouse Trap commented that suicide means death of the mind in symbolic unproductivity
due to self destructive tendencies (91). Hamlet, with his rapid and witty thoughts, could not become
inactive in his mind.
Hamlet showed disgust during the lines one hundred thirty three through one hundred thirty seven in
which he questioned the purpose of the world (Hamlet Prince 71). He felt that the world s only
purpose was to raise weeds. Those weeds or the things that are rank and gross in nature, represented
the wicked people of the world that were in power. It is evident throughout these lines that he has
strong feelings of mistrust and hatred towards his uncle. It is undetermined if Hamlet ever thought that
his mother was also a murderess who helped devise the plan to kill the king. Hamlet s anger is
justified, as his trust was lost in almost everyone that was close to him.
Hamlet reconciles his mother s hasty actions after the death of his father in lines one hundred thirty
seven through one hundred fifty seven (Hamlet Prince 71). He begins with, But not two months dead!
Nay, not so much, not two, which clearly shows disgust in the hastiness of the marriage between his
mother and his uncle. His ideas and feelings jump around throughout this group of lines, which also
demonstrates a nervous anger. He remembers how excellent a king his father was and how loving [he
was] to [Hamlet s] mother (Hamlet

The Role Of Food And Communication In Asian Culture
Food is important to human beings not only for sustenance but also as a means of communication.
Food as communication is portrayed and interpreted in different ways in different cultures. In many
Asian cultures in particular, food becomes the substitute to express a generally unspoken affection:
love. In the cultural background of unexpressed love where food becomes the channel of the message,
food in turn becomes a sensitive topic and therefore can serve as a catalyst for arguments in
relationships between people of that culture. In a case study observing a couple of Korean cultural
background Peter and Elli I attempt to uncover the metamessages underlying their arguments
involving food. In Korean culture, along with many other Asian cultures, people typically do not show
love and affection straightforwardly through touch or words. Instead, we show it more subtly through
different channels, the most common of these being food. This cultural experience is precisely
illustrated in a video titled What Asian Parents Don t Say... by Wong Fu Productions a YouTube
channel by Asian American creators producing Asian American stories in which they juxtapose scenes
of what an Asian parent says, and what they actually mean by what they said. At one point in the
video, an Asian mother asks her son, Did you eat yet? which gets translated to I love you, but I don t
want to say that, so I m making sure you re well fed. That s how my parents said I love you to me...
And it s less awkward. With the comments section flooded with statements of identical incidents upon
the video s release, there is evidence of wide cultural experience. I personally have felt this too as I
have never heard the words I love you from my parents, and I have never said those words to them
either. Yet, we know we love each other; we just show it through more subtle ways, such as doing
errands and buying gifts, or simple questions of concern such as Are you cold? or Did you sleep well?
, and, of course, the most common way: through food. In this culture, food is the way our parents
show us love, which then gets transferred to the way we show love to others. Therefore, food has
become a sensitive topic to many Asians and Asian Americans, so

On January 26, 1986, one of the greatest disasters of our time occurred. When Challenger was

about the credibility of the engineers who designed the air craft.
It is now know that crucial information about the faulty O rings was know to many if not all of the

Jesus Is The Mediator Between Man And God
The word Christian means followers of Christ. Since Jesus is the one man that reconnected us back to
God, he was the one man able to show us the way to stay connected with the creator. Jesus has
become the mediator between man and God. Also, He is not just a man. He is the only son of God, the
very first creation of the Almighty. The bible says that in Him and for Him all things were created. He
is the only one qualified to help us regain our rights to be sons and daughters of God.
It is also in the name of Jesus that we can find and claim all that we have lost in the garden, where
Adam and Eve have sinned. Jesus had come not only to die, but also to show us how to live with the
fact that we are still vulnerable to sins, and the tricks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anyone compelled by the spirit of God to be reinstated back in His Devine family only needs to
confess publicly that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that he was resurrected by God from the
dead. You have to have once been indulged in the story of Jesus and believe it. And, you have to once
make a public confession that Jesus is Lord. That will qualify you as being saved from the lost world
and be reinstated in the family of God. However, in order to be a true disciple of Christ and honestly
carry the title of being a true Christian, that takes a process. One is saved instantly. However, a person
is a Christian by virtue of a firm and honest conviction that this person has made to follow the
instructions or commandments of God in a new life that s been made possible by Jesus. To be a
Christian is a complete rebirth. You know nothing on the same basis that you have before, and you
have come to practice all in an entire new way. Christianity affects every aspect of the life of the
individual who chose to join into this new society of saints. It is the world of the followers of Christ. It
is the world of discipleship for the kingdom of God. It is your entire old world

Academic Goals And Career Goals
My academic goals are to learn skills that I will need in the workforce to achieve my career goals.
Being a successful student academically has always been important to me, from high school through
all four years of college. I hope to have a substantial foundation of knowledge and experiences from
the classroom that will transition over into my future career. Before my professional career begins, I
will work hard to attain my CPA by retaining my classroom education. Furthermore, the enhanced
knowledge I will gain from a Master of Accounting from Iowa State will better my chances at
achieving my goal of passing the CPA exam.
My career goals include working at a public accounting firm to gain experience of the field while
working towards receiving my CPA. After a few years, I want to work my way up in the company and
eventually become a partner. Or, if I decide to go private working for a company, I would like to
become a CFO. Whichever path I choose, the most important consideration for me as I start my
professional career is not a specific job title in accounting, but rather the chance to work for a
company that promotes a positive work culture and provides an opportunity for professional growth.
In addition, I want to wish to work for a company that shares much of the same values as me and is
enjoyable to work for.
A Master of Accounting degree from Iowa State University would greatly expand my intelligence in
the accounting field, and learn higher level concepts that

The Conservative Project Upholds The Best System Of...
It is essential for people to receive the wealth and resources they have earned for the amount of work
they have contributed. That is a fact of society that is undisputable from almost every perspective.
This concept, however, is not exclusive to just the majority of society. In several ways, one can argue
that it is not just for the majority to have control over private property rights. That is why I believe that
the conservative project upholds the best system of distributing wealth and ownership. Both liberal
and conservative perspectives believe in the idea that management of capital, as well as the economic
system, should be handled by a group of leaders in the public and private world. This is a shared belief

According to lecture 10, Capital and Liberal Ideology, it is stated that The United States was the first
country created on the basis of liberal ideology, the first country whose very justification for being
created and existing came from liberal ideology. The founding document of the United States, the US
Declaration of Independence (1776) by American revolutionary leader Thomas Jefferson, is based
upon the most important founding document of liberalism. The liberal agenda focuses more on
actively helping the majority of the population through programs that aid the poor, sick, and elderly.
These have historically been paid for by taxing the working population, with wealthier citizens paying
a greater share. As seen in Lecture 55, Using Racism to Hide the Transfer of the White Majority s
Labor to Capital, there was a social program set up in 1866, which was the Freedmen s Bureau. The
premise of this social program was to help transition ex slaves from slavery to wage labor. This
movement allowed capital to form in the hands of these ex slaves. And as said, It also performed some
welfare state functions, such as education and rudimentary medicine, and was later used by the
Republicans to try to secure some rights for blacks. Liberals also focus on the regulation of major
corporations through minimum wage laws and worker safety regulations. The key defining aspect of
contemporary conservatism is the opposition to major social programs

Odysseus is the king of Ithaca and is sent to Troy to fight the Trojans. He is at war for 10 years. After
the war was over he was very arrogant. As a result, the gods send Odysseus to a hero s journey to
teach him a lesson. In the epic poem The Odyssey, written by Homer and translated by Robert
Fitzgerald, the hero Odysseus uses his wits and strength of character to make it home after a twenty
year absence.
Odysseus has very good knowledge about the land of the lotus eaters and its purposes. Odysseus
shows a great amount of wits and strength as well as leadership with his men. Odysseus warns his men
that one little thing will lead to their doom. Zeus sends a storm which sends Odysseus and his men to
the land of the lotus eaters. Odysseus says, clear the beach and no one taste the Lotus, or you lose your
hope of home (Fitzgerald, 602). Odysseus does not want to deal with anymore of his men eating the
lotus flower so he warns them now so that they know what will happen. Odysseus is warning his men
not to eat the lotus flower because when anyone eats it tempts whoever eats it to stay there. Odysseus
wants to be home and wants his men to go home with him, so he is protecting them by warning them.

America Land Of Opportunity Essay
The Great Land of America: Land Of Opportunity Many sought to migrate to America, a land that was
talked so highly of, full of opportunities for all to have. From the rich to the poor, to the slaves and the
free, most all was willing to do anything at their chance of happiness, riches, and success. However,
the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors, and triumphs, and all
would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would prove these opportunities to
be a long, difficult road to success. In the early 1600 s many walks of life came to the America s, some
in search of the riches that had been told of, and some just searching for freedom of religion. Among
some of these people were colonists who had established their first permanent colony in Virginia, but
low and behold many of these people fell victim to dissension and disease (Norton,41). Life in
America would not be as easy such an easy task. Many of these people came with the intentions of
relying on some of the local Indians for help in the areas of food and tribute, but the Indians did not
want to cooperate (Norton,41). The Indians would prove to be another difficult task that would be

The Political Disaster of Watergate Essay
The political disaster of Watergate in the early 1970s marked the first time a president resigned.
Essentially, it began when a former Marine, Daniel Ellsberg, who no longer supported war in Vietnam,
leaked an analysis of American involvement there to The New York Times, starting in 1971. President
Richard Nixon, a very private man, demanded that these Pentagon Papers be kept secret in order to
prevent the public from finding out exactly what was going on. The scandal that followed ruined
Nixon and led Americans to be more critical of the politicians they put in power and to question their
leadership. Nixon wanted to prevent news articles from being published about the papers and their
conclusions for reasons of national security . He is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His identity was not revealed until 2005 , although there had been many suspicions. He told the
reporters about the federal government s role in the cover up of the scandal. Woodward was able to
discover, through conversations with CREEP employees, that $70,000 of funds had been used as
payoffs to the burglars. In March 1973, one of the burglars and a former CIA agent James McCord,
reported a list of those in the government who were involved with the break in and cover up. Two of
them were John Dean, who had been previously mentioned by FBI Director L. Patrick Gray, and Jeb
Magruder, who had been involved with Nixon s campaign. The Los Angeles Times and The
Washington Post both ran the story, facing lawsuits from Dean s lawyer. Dean testified that Nixon
knew about the cover up, and then Nixon refused to appear before the Senate Judicial Committee
based on executive privilege, which allows officials to keep information private if releasing it would
disrupt the function of the government. He had previously said that he would not invoke executive
privilege.
In the court case, one of Nixon s aides testified that there was a taping system in the Oval Office that
the president used to record all his conversations. Immediately afterwards, Nixon had the recorder
removed, and refused to submit the existing tapes as evidence. On August 15,

Dr. Adams Authority
The western worlds of Academia and the Media operate on a set of attitudinal presuppositions. They
believe It is our responsibility to question everything , and to remember that the ultimate authority
depends on the credulity of the reader, not on the message of the narrator . Dr. Adams tries to point
back to the author as the authority, not the critic, and in this he is ultimately successful.
Authority is both a problem for us today, unwilling to be manipulated towards a hierarchical cultural
formula, and an unstated assumption (if it is based on a larger cultural attitude, not on individual
opinion). Dr. Adams is right when he states that he believes the authority of the Bible is the

  • 2. What Are The Features Of Organizations And Formal,... Objective Describe the features of organizations and bureaucracies formal, informal, gendered, and network (Pages 179 195, 197). An organization is a collective purposely constructed to achieve particular ends (pg 179). Sociology deals with organizations largely because of Max Weber s thinking on a specific type of organization, the bureaucracies (pg 179). A bureaucracy is a highly rational organization, especially one that is highly efficient (pg 179). In an ideal typical bureaucracy there is a continuous series of offices, or positions, within the organization, each with its own function and set of rules (pg 179). Other characteristics of a bureaucracy are: each office has a specified sphere of competence, each of the offices exist in a vertical hierarchy, the positions have technical requirements, those who hold those offices must undergo the needed training and do not own the things needed to do the job for example, computers, desks, etc (pg 179). Lastly, those who occupy a particular office cannot take the office as their own and everything of formal importance (administrative acts, decisions, rules) is in writing (pg 180). Formal organization is how the organization is supposed to work as in Weber s ideal typical formal bureaucracy, informal organization is how an organization actually works as opposed to how it is supposed to work (pg 183). The informal organization can help make up for inadequacies in the formal organization (Gulati and Puranam 2009). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Technology and Ethics Essay on Technology and Ethics Essay on Technology and Ethics As the technological advancements are taking place day by day concerns are growing among the various religious and ethical groups about the ethics involved in the kind of technology. As we know that there are pros and cons of using any technology but sometimes many protest that the technologies are more of used for the selfish purposes to fulfill human needs than to be beneficial for the mankind. Lets take the most common example of Internet known as the fastest medium to communicate and research, even advancing in the section of distance learning. As everyone in any part of the world are well aware of the advantages which the mankind has for using the internet which can now ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The definition of Ethics: The rules or standards governing the conduct of a person or the members of a profession. Ethics to me means that I should perform my work in a professional manner, respect others and what they do. Meaning that software/music that someone else worked hard to create does not mean that I can download it for free. Nor does it mean that I should be able to search through somebody s personal files on their home pc. It also means that I may not attack companies via the internet because I do not like what they do or what they stand for. Ethics in the IT industry can mean many different things and have many different Technology and Ethics as Depicted in Beckett s Waiting for Godot and Vonnegut s Slaughterhouse Five After a cursory examination of present day world politics, it seems there exist no sterling examples of society s progression towards utopia, or even a higher state of tolerance or knowledge. It is not that humanity does not seek knowledge or improvement. It is not a fault that curiosity drives society s scientists to explain and improve the world beyond the realm of the philosophers. The fault lies in how easily this motive can be manipulated by the vices of greed, the propaganda ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Main Causative Factor in the Failure of the DePuy ASR and... Size of the devices: The role of the large diameter ASR devices in males are linked with considerably lower metal ion levels in contrast to the BHR devices, proposing that under perfect in vivo conditions the ASR has a less wear rate than the BHR device (Underwood et al. 2011). Although, problems also occurred with the smaller hip resurfacing implants among women and small men. It was discovered that these implants did not lubricate as well, unlike the bigger implants and therefore they produced a large amount of metal debris and produced a very concentration of metal ions in the blood. (Cohen 2012). Acetabular component: The BHR hip device is more innovative than the ASR device as it has a hole used for wires to fix the introducer. The ASR device does not have this. (Underwood et al. 2011). Positioning of the components: The difference can be seen in the sub optimally positioned components within 10Β° of Lewinnek s safe zone in the occurrence of edge loading and rate of wear in both the ASR and the BHR devices (Underwood et al. 2011). Wear and inclination of the acetabular component: A major positive correlation was seen between the wear and inclination of the acetabular component with the BHR device (p = 0.01) which was not seen with the ASR device (p = 0.6). This suggests either that the ASR devices have a higher wear rate at all inclinations or that the safe zone that escapes edge loading is a lot thinner than that of the BHR device (Underwood et al. 2011). ... • 5. Analysis Of RFP For ATM Monitoring A judgement call that I made which did not allow for analysis or information gathering due to time constraints was when a large Southern Financial institution that I was leading Distributed Service Delivery for put out a large RFP for ATM monitoring; they had approximately 3600 ATMs all being serviced and monitored by Diebold, as the Program Manager over this account all RFPs ran through me. I pulled in what experts we had on ATM monitoring to provide a thorough response document, it was assumed throughout my company that we were likely being used solely for leverage with Diebold more so than having a chance at this business. We were told within a couple weeks that Diebold was being awarded the bid so I stopped our internal evaluations on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I had a Team responsible for Monitoring and Management of thousands of endpoint network devices for this customer in an offsite location with desks available. Connectivity to the ATMs was quickly available due to already having connectivity within the customers network, I just needed resources and training. I had daily scrum type calls with Recruiting to track progress, make sure interviews could get quickly setup, and knock down any blockers slowing them down. Recruiting stepped up and sourced 5 of the 7 resources within three weeks and my RIMM Team with the addition of these 5 resources and the shadowing from the customers tier 3 engineers were able to successfully come up to speed and deliver on this new service. I had a complete team of 7 resources before the end of the first 30 days. This became a great win for Pomeroy and for the Customer. For the Customer, we were offering a tier 2 level Service at a tier 3 three price point, well under their original T1 provider in this space. We were able to deliver through my Team the quality and speed that they wanted in responding to alerts and issues, with an expanded Team being able to share the work across my full RIMM Team and over the ... All the same it has had its moments of ups and downs. This adventure that Euro Disney has been through has been full of surprise and anticipation. The management have had to re evaluate their strategies in order to pull out of the crisis facing them. Every company must analyse the marketing mix, i.e. Product, Price, Promotion and Distribution while planning their market entry strategy. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It highlights some of the key issues that can arise when multinational companies, such as Walt Disney Co., enter foreign markets. This report analyses the case and gives key recommendations for future launches based on a SWOT analysis, market research and the international planning process as outlined in Cateora Graham (2005). The recommendations are directed to assist Walt Disney CO. in evaluating possible new locations for another Disneyland. 2. Case Study Summary and The French Market The key issues the case study is dealing with are: insufficient knowledge of the Disney s management about the French culture and habits, a venturous initial financing, and wrong marketing and pricing policies. Names have a powerful meanings to them. Yet, the power and elegance of a name doesn t matter to everybody because for those who have names that are obtained for African descent will soon be labeled as people with a black name . As seen in a recent debate article posted in The New York Times by author Morgan Jerkins offers a debate about Racism, based on a name and questions the proposal How can employers confront the bias those with African American names face in the job market? Debaters of this article argued and provided some conformity for African Americans in detailing and explaining how some social barriers should be dropped for black employees, and that some advisement of employment should be addressed since they can weigh social barriers. While other debaters claimed that there was nothing wrong with this controversy. This topic all comes back to the point where celebrity Raven Symone made a comment about black names and how she wouldn t hire anybody with a name of this sort. The frost giant, Ymir, a jotun, and an ice cow emerged from the pit. Ymir fell into a deep sleep. While he slept a male and female jotun formed from the warmth of his left armpit and a six headed troll grew from his feet. The ice cow also brought life to this world. As she licked and licked the saltiness of Ginnungagap a head of hair and then a whole body appeared from under her tongue. Next, a handsome man and his son appeared. The son, Borr, married a jotun maiden, Bestla. Together they had three sons who were so fair that they lit up the darkness around them. These three sons Odin, Hoenir and Lodur were the first of the Aesir gods. They had the power to create a world. To do this the brothers had to kill Ymir first. Contrary to popular belief, bilingual education programs were not products of the 1960s. In fact, they aren t even products of the twentieth century. The first state to actually pass a bilingual education law was Ohio, in 1839 (History of Bilingual Education, 1998). The law was for German English bilingual education, and was passed as a result of a strong parental initiative. By the end of the nineteenth century, about a dozen states had passed similar laws, and in many other states such instruction was offered, although it had not been sanctioned by the state. During the World War One era, however, as the loyalty of non English speaking Americans came increasingly under suspicion, many states decided to enact English only instruction, in an attempt to Americanize non English speakers. As a result, during the 1920s the bilingual education program had been almost completely dismantled. In response to the apparent failure of English only instruction, the United States government passed the Bilingual Education Act in 1968, providing federal funds to local school districts, in an attempt to promote the incorporation of native language instruction into school curricula. The government felt that, leaving LEP students to sink or swim in English only classrooms made a mockery of public education (History of Bilingual Education, 1998). The textbook defined inquiry as the process that students should use to learn science (Martin, Sexton, Franklin, Gerlovich, McElory 2009). They should be able to ask questions, use their questions to plan and conduct a scientific investigation, use appropriate science tools and scientific techniques, evaluate evidence and use it logically to construct several alternative explanations, and communicate their conclusions scientifically (Martin, et. Al., 2009). In essence, students should grasp the knowledge that is taught in science class, as well as share the finding in an educated manner with others. As we examine inquiry, we will discuss what research says about inquiry, determine how inquiry looks inside the classroom setting, discuss challenges that may arise teachers use inquiry based teaching in the classroom setting, and share a personal reflection on the benefits of inquiry teaching and learning based on the research presented. Inquiry is a multifaceted activity that involves making observations, posing questions; examining books and other sources of information to see what is already known (Villa Beptiste, 2014). • 19. Persuasive Essay On Solar Power Cars flying across the earth s sky and energy that powers our technology drawn from the sun; this is a futuristic utopia solely depicted in movies in our modern society. Just two years ago the film Back To The Future, predicted that we would live in a society like this, yet we have not come even close to what we were shown in the theaters. Why is that? Well, popularity, and innovation are directly proportional to each other. We tend to improve on things that we use in our everyday lives; coming out with better phones, faster cars, and more advance military weapons. Going green and helping the environment seems to be overshadowed in terms of importance due to the lack of potential profits outweighing that of the former. Switching to using solar power and helping the planet is a great and efficacious process and should be come with a reward. In the sunshine state of Florida, we do not have the ability to power our homes the green way with solar panels unless we connect it to the power grid, and in addition we are obliged to pay the utility companies for maintenance of them. Solar panels are already quite costly to install; Now if you live in Florida, you must pay extra fees for backup power. The main issue is all of the fees from the utility company (on a monthly basis) can turn solar power from a way to save money and save the environment to be more of a burden, as a consequence of the extra fees and paper work, which turns a majority of people away. Solar power is a great way to go green, and this problem should be resolved so all citizens can afford to make the switch to solar power. The issue with solar panels is that in certain states it is very costly. So, the benefits of going completely green and relying on solar energy are not as great. In 2017, one of the biggest problems facing contemporary society is global warming, which comes primarily from pollution. Pollution that could be heavily reduced by going green. So, the pressure to go green is on; that being so, why does the government appear to make going green such a challenge? The Problem Of Sorcery And Witchcraft Essay In the chapter The Problem of Sorcery and Witchcraft in the Age of Reformation, the section John Calvin: Witchcraft and the Reformation discusses what is considered witchcraft, and why it is. In his Sermon of Deuteronomy, John Calvin does this by distinguishing the roles of Enchanters, Sorcerers, Calkers, workers with Familiars, and of such as ask counsel of the dead, within context of both old and new testaments and the church reformation. In doing so, Calvin maintains the concept of surrendering a soul to the devil in accordance to the continuing belief of witchcraft. In relation to other documents within the chapter, the overall concept referring to an intensifying fear of witchcraft is based on theological events in sixteenth century Europe during the church reformation. The document by Calvin provides one of three viewpoints regarding witchcraft during this era; the three viewpoints being Protestant, Catholic, or the notion that witchcraft in general is not real. However, despite the differences of opinion, all sides seem to agree on the concept that witchcraft in general is not good. In this particular document of the chapter, John Calvin, taking the protestant approach, describes the concept of witchcraft as a pact between the devil and a witch; the witch being someone who practices things such as enchantments, sorcery, speaking with the dead, etc. This relationship between the devil and the witch is a direct result of what Calvin describes as: Satan s ... • 25. The Role Of Food And Communication In Asian Culture Food is important to human beings not only for sustenance but also as a means of communication. Food as communication is portrayed and interpreted in different ways in different cultures. In many Asian cultures in particular, food becomes the substitute to express a generally unspoken affection: love. In the cultural background of unexpressed love where food becomes the channel of the message, food in turn becomes a sensitive topic and therefore can serve as a catalyst for arguments in relationships between people of that culture. In a case study observing a couple of Korean cultural background Peter and Elli I attempt to uncover the metamessages underlying their arguments involving food. In Korean culture, along with many other Asian cultures, people typically do not show love and affection straightforwardly through touch or words. Instead, we show it more subtly through different channels, the most common of these being food. This cultural experience is precisely illustrated in a video titled What Asian Parents Don t Say... by Wong Fu Productions a YouTube channel by Asian American creators producing Asian American stories in which they juxtapose scenes of what an Asian parent says, and what they actually mean by what they said. At one point in the video, an Asian mother asks her son, Did you eat yet? which gets translated to I love you, but I don t want to say that, so I m making sure you re well fed. That s how my parents said I love you to me... And it s less awkward. With the comments section flooded with statements of identical incidents upon the video s release, there is evidence of wide cultural experience. I personally have felt this too as I have never heard the words I love you from my parents, and I have never said those words to them either. Yet, we know we love each other; we just show it through more subtle ways, such as doing errands and buying gifts, or simple questions of concern such as Are you cold? or Did you sleep well? , and, of course, the most common way: through food. In this culture, food is the way our parents show us love, which then gets transferred to the way we show love to others. That is a fact of society that is undisputable from almost every perspective. This concept, however, is not exclusive to just the majority of society. In several ways, one can argue that it is not just for the majority to have control over private property rights. That is why I believe that the conservative project upholds the best system of distributing wealth and ownership. According to lecture 10, Capital and Liberal Ideology, it is stated that The United States was the first country created on the basis of liberal ideology, the first country whose very justification for being created and existing came from liberal ideology. The founding document of the United States, the US Declaration of Independence (1776) by American revolutionary leader Thomas Jefferson, is based upon the most important founding document of liberalism. The liberal agenda focuses more on actively helping the majority of the population through programs that aid the poor, sick, and elderly. These have historically been paid for by taxing the working population, with wealthier citizens paying a greater share. As seen in Lecture 55, Using Racism to Hide the Transfer of the White Majority s Labor to Capital, there was a social program set up in 1866, which was the Freedmen s Bureau. The premise of this social program was to help transition ex slaves from slavery to wage labor. This movement allowed capital to form in the hands of these ex slaves. And as said, It also performed some welfare state functions, such as education and rudimentary medicine, and was later used by the Republicans to try to secure some rights for blacks. Liberals also focus on the regulation of major corporations through minimum wage laws and worker safety regulations. The key defining aspect of contemporary conservatism is the opposition to major social programs ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From the rich to the poor, to the slaves and the free, most all was willing to do anything at their chance of happiness, riches, and success. However, the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors, and triumphs, and all would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would prove these opportunities to be a long, difficult road to success. In the early 1600 s many walks of life came to the America s, some in search of the riches that had been told of, and some just searching for freedom of religion. Essentially, it began when a former Marine, Daniel Ellsberg, who no longer supported war in Vietnam, leaked an analysis of American involvement there to The New York Times, starting in 1971. President Richard Nixon, a very private man, demanded that these Pentagon Papers be kept secret in order to prevent the public from finding out exactly what was going on. Woodward was able to discover, through conversations with CREEP employees, that $70,000 of funds had been used as payoffs to the burglars. In March 1973, one of the burglars and a former CIA agent James McCord, reported a list of those in the government who were involved with the break in and cover up. Two of them were John Dean, who had been previously mentioned by FBI Director L. Patrick Gray, and Jeb Magruder, who had been involved with Nixon s campaign. The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post both ran the story, facing lawsuits from Dean s lawyer. Dean testified that Nixon knew about the cover up, and then Nixon refused to appear before the Senate Judicial Committee based on executive privilege, which allows officials to keep information private if releasing it would disrupt the function of the government. He had previously said that he would not invoke executive privilege. They believe It is our responsibility to question everything , and to remember that the ultimate authority depends on the credulity of the reader, not on the message of the narrator . Dr. Adams tries to point back to the author as the authority, not the critic, and in this he is ultimately successful. Authority is both a problem for us today, unwilling to be manipulated towards a hierarchical cultural formula, and an unstated assumption (if it is based on a larger cultural attitude, not on individual opinion).
