BUSS204 Managing Production Flow
Investigating Global and Local Production and Quality Control Processes
18 April 2017
By Chloe Ansell 1500770
This essay will investigate the standard production development processes within the fashion industry
and it will also focus on the importance of quality control standards inside these processes. It will
moreover discuss supply chain within various market sectors in the fashion industry. Many fashion
companies apply the same production development processes local and global and this essay will
identify the similarities and differences of each of these stages within the fashion industry.

Production processes also requires a manufacture, local or global and there are different advantages of
global or local manufacturing. Within local manufacturers there is more control over quality issues
and you can visit your manufacture more often. Shorter construction times with less expensive
transport (studentweb.bhtafe.edu.au, 2017). However, the benefits of global manufacturing are the
exceedingly advance skills and inexpensive cost of the labor force (Glock and Kunz, 1995). With the
labor the costs include bundling, sewing, pressing, trimming and inspections. Production manages
observe every aspect to decrease the costs with that saves money and increase income (O Leary and
Livett, n.d.).
Thru manufacturing comes the quality control standards, quality control is the degree of excellence
and that level of quality creates its equal of reliability in the product (Lifetime Reliability Solutions |
World Class Asset Reliability, 2017). Managing the production flow of the quality control processes
are exceedingly important with the stages being fit, specification sheet, technical pack and sampling
processes. Quality must have the suitability for use

Octavia Butler Bloodchild Summary
Octavia Butler, an African American author who uses her writing abilities to instill awareness through
a unique form of science fiction. Each of her novels and stories address issues and topics that address
issues that typically are discussed with a lot of tension from the feminist of the world. Some of these
issues include gender inequalities and gender norms. The short story that I decided to read and write
about is Bloodchild which is based on a romantic and controlling relationship with humans and outer
space creatures. This author switches the roles of the characters to opposite of societal norms. The
male character has the role of the female, so he is required to give birth and the female character has
taken the place of the male and has taken on the impregnating actions. The male, Gan, who is the main
character, is often seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her science fiction novels are very fantasy based with real meanings behind them. Butler does this to
make the harsh truth, easier to understand and comprehend. She wants to paint the picture of the wall
men have around women in society. In her novel the alien like creature who is the women is a very
string creature with long arms. She often made people feel trapped. whole left row of T Gatoi s limbs
closed around her, holding her loosely, but securely...no one else in the family liked it. They said it
made them feel caged (Butler 3). This feeling that Butler described is the same some women feel
throughout their lives due to not being able to make their own choices about how to live their lives.
Instead society tells them what is needed to be done as a woman not what is needed for themselves.
Many women go through this oppression without even knowing it. Society had forced women to
overlook the way they are treated because the world we live in is male based driven. Butler wants to
change the way we see things, her goal is to change the perception of what is socially

Why The Anti Equal Rights Amendment
Introduction This essay will explore the reasons why the anti Equal Rights Amendment of the 1970s
was successful in keeping the proposed amendment from being added to the Constitution. It starts
with a discussion of the process in congress and what it took for the amendment to even reach the
states for a vote, and the exact literature of the amendment. It continues by analyzing what caused the
movement for the ERA, successes of the feminist movement in the 1970s and leaders in the pro ERA
movement. The rest of the essay will discuss the Stop ERA campaign, its arguments against the
amendment and how it succeeded in garnering enough support to prevent passage of the amendment.
This subject is particularly important to discuss because our society continues to be riddled with
gender inequality and sexual discrimination. Though legislative change does not guarantee societal
change, it is certainly a necessary step, and the lack of an Equal Rights Amendment has put the issue
of sexism in the United States on the backburner. It is necessary to examine the origins of the failure
of the Equal Rights Amendment in order to fully understand what is holding the United States back as
a country and what can be done to move forward and make meaningful changes in how we perceive
gender and sexuality. Passing an Amendment In order to pass an Amendment to the Constitution of the
United States of America, it must first be proposed by either Congress with a two thirds majority vote

Superiority In The Iliad
In the Homer s The Iliad, each soldier s main aspiration is to go down in history as a fierce defender of
their country. To achieve this status, they must exhibit unceasing bravery and persistence to a higher
degree than all other warriors. However, while attempting to build an image of fortitude, soldiers are
forced to rid themselves of all humanity they possess. To maintain an image of superiority over their
peers, fighters are required to constantly intimidate and degrade those around them. Commanders of
the war use this same method of terrorization by insulting their soldiers and using their men s fear of
death to assert authority over their armies. In order to be accepted by their leaders, warriors are
expected to take countless lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As every battle presents a daunting challenge, leaders constantly find their armies exhausted and
weary from the hardships of war. While attempting to raise their men s moral, commanders often
threaten their soldiers with the thought of gruesome death. Leaders intimidate their soldiers in order to
maintain their authority and make it clear that they expect each man to fight their hardest. As the
Trojans are being pushed back by the Greeks, Hector asserts his power over his men by saying to
them, If I catch any man hanging back on this side/ He s dead on the spot with no family funeral (15.
355). Commanders often use their renowned reputations to build an image of superiority over their
soldiers. Since the leaders are distinguished warriors, they use this credibility to terrify their men and
force them to remain allegiant to the army. While the Trojan army approaches the Greek trench,
Hector uses his renowned reputation to control his men by telling them that if they are lagging during
battle they will lose [their] life at the point of [his] spear (12. 255 257). Commanders control over
their soldiers relies greatly on their image among the men they command, requiring them to uphold a
perception of ruthless power and heavy handed authority in order maintain influence over their

Informative Speech On Jane Addams
Good morning, my name is Jane Addams and it s lovely to be here with all of you. While in London
with my close friend Ellen Gates Starr in 1888, we visited Toynbee Hall which was a settlement house
that aided poor industrial workers. Witnessing those provided services first hand ultimately sparked
my desire to bring that system of aid to the United States in order to help lower classes. When Starr
and I initially founded the Chicago Hull House in 1889, we both intended for institution to be a place
where educated women were able to share their skills and knowledge to the poorer immigrants. Yet it
became a overall center for one to experience higher civil and social life through the teachings of
education and philanthropy. Our three main principles

The Hot Zone Summary
In The Hot Zone by Richard Preston, Preston argues that Ebola is an unstoppable issue that man or the
government cannot slow or eliminate. However, modern science disagrees with his logic, and many
have evidence that proves Ebola can be stopped or at the very least slowed down by means of
vaccinations or government operations. For example, the World Health Organization believes to have
successfully found a vaccine that will protect against Ebola as of December 23, 2016. This
organizations started the trial in 2015 and published the results in 2016. The results were the vaccine,
called rVSV ZEBOV, was studied in a trial involving 11,841 people in Guinea during 2015. Among
the 5837 people who received the vaccine, no Ebola cases were recorded 10 days or more after ...

For example, the CDC plays a vital role in dealing with Ebola and operating in west Africa is most
common. They have opened an Emergency Operations Center to coordinate operation that deal with
Ebola. The CDC also has thousands of staff members developed in Africa specially to deal with the
data management of Ebola and teach about the effects and symptoms of Ebola to underdeveloped
countries. Also, the CDC have people prepared along the borders of countries assist with any
outbreaks if one occurs. (CDC). With this in mind, it is easy to see that the government can and will
combat Ebola unlike Preston s claim. In the Hot Zone, Preston claimed that the government was along
for the ride and did not have the tools for the situation (318). This situation being precaution with
Ebola. However, the government and the disease fighting organization can fight Ebola and are not
letting Ebola control them or the situation. Other than the CDC, the U.S Department of Defense also
have use tactics to combat Ebola. They have sent in personal to de escalate threatening situations.

How Does Enzyme Concentration Or Temperature Affect The...
Question: How does changing enzyme concentration or temperature affect the reaction time of
enzyme activity? Background and Introduction: Enzymes are proteins that process substrates, which is
the chemical molecule that enzymes work on to make products. Enzyme purpose is to increase the rate
of activity and speed up chemical reaction in a form of biological catalysts. The enzymes specialize in
lowering the activation energy to start the process. Enzymes are very specific in their process, each
substrate is designed to fit with a specific substrate and the enzyme and substrate link at the active site.
The binding of a substrate to the active site of an enzyme is a very specific interaction. Active sites are
clefts or grooves on the surface of an enzyme, usually composed of amino acids from different parts of
the polypeptide chain that are brought together in the tertiary structure of the folded protein.
Substrates initially bind to the active site by noncovalent interactions, including hydrogen bonds, ionic
bonds, and hydrophobic interactions. Once a substrate is bound to the active site of an enzyme,
multiple mechanisms can accelerate its conversion to the product of the reaction. But sometimes, these
enzymes fail or succeed to increase the rate of action because of various factors that limit the action.
These factors can be known as temperature, acidity levels (pH), enzyme and/or substrate
concentration, etc. In this experiment, it will be tested how much of an effect

Theme Of The Crying Of Lot 49
The crying of lot 49 is Thomas Pynchon second book, was published in 1965 and was described by
himself as a short story with a gland problem . The basis of the story is that oedipal mass is an
unhappily married woman who is going through her day to day of her life when out of the blue her ex

Essay on Injustices I Suffered as a Native American
The year is 1828 and I am the Cherokee chief. I and my tribe are living in a house. Our land is full of
minerals like gold. It is summer and it is bloody hot outside. The skies are white and it looks like it
will rain soon. I am very tired and I decide to go to sleep. Suddenly I wake up and look out the
window watching it rain and the houses burn, and this caused a lot of smoke. I see many feral
American soldiers who have surrounded us and burned our houses. They want us away from our
residence, but we can t, because this is the country where our ancestors lived for generations. I see this

Hopefully we got water by the American soldiers, but not all of us got enough water to survive due to
a little amount of water. We had to face many difficulties during the march, and most of the difficulties
were due to lack of water and food in the hot desert and the sand hills. After a long walk, they sent us
on a tour. We settled in an undisclosed place and we took a break to sleep. I saw that the Americans
slept with me and I woke up carefully. I raised my hand in the soldier s pocket where I saw the key to
the handcuffs. Following on, I managed to get the key in one of the soldier s pocket, and then I
unlocked my handcuff and my companions too. We took out all the equipment and the other resources.
We tied them together with a rope and took them to prison. One of the American soldiers began to
wake up and make steps towards me. He took out his gun and pointed at me. I heard the sound of a
gun that was soon charged with a bullet, so I turned around quickly and shot the person straight in his
head. He bled and died in agony. The others gave up and promised us that they would kill the other
Cherokee. The Americans joined hand with us and helped us to rebuild our houses and they promised
us to get all the gold minerals back and we lived happily in many years together in peace and
harmony. We got the Congress to sign a peace contract and

The Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands, located about 600 miles west of continental Ecuador, contain a rich history of
settlement and exploration and represent a living example of evolution that is still relevant today. For
centuries, this chain of volcanic islands has been used uniquely by various cultures based off distinct
needs. What has remained the same however is the fact that island isolation has forced many animal
and plant species to adapt differently from one another based off their island s environmental
conditions, creating a living model of microevolution over time. Today, these models tend to be the
primary resources used by biology professors when teaching their students evolutionary topics. The

Currently there are two islands, Isabella and Fernandina, which are still being molded today, and are
thus still highly active volcanoes. The weather in the Galapagos consists of two different seasons.
Both are marked all year by freezing rain due to the Humboldt Current flowing from the south. Other
than this one similarity, the two seasons are completely opposites of one another. Constant wind and
fog as well as regular rain showers that often last entire days characterize the months of June through
November. December through May on the other hand is sunny, windless, and has very little
precipitation. The Galapagos are also affected every three to seven years by a weather cycle known as
El Nino. This climate pattern causes extreme drought, which greatly influences both terrestrial and
marine organisms. It is characterized by a warming of sea temperature, rise in sea level, and depletion
of nutrients. The Galapagos Islands hold a very extensive history marked by constant changes in
reasons for people using them. The first documented discovery of the islands occurred in 1535 when
Fray Tomas de Berlanga of Panama accidentally came cross them while attempting to sail from Peru
back to Panama. There is much controversy however in regards to the truth behind him being the first
to have found the islands. Records show that Incas used these islands for food and exploration years
before Berlanga claimed to have found them. Nevertheless, the Galapagos remained unsettled

Organ Shortage
Within the past few years, the demand for organs has increased at an alarming rate. This is due mostly
to the fact that diseases and illnesses are becoming more prevalent and are brought on due to a
significant change in American lifestyles. Failing organs can be caused by certain ways of living such
as being a smoker or becoming obese. Many people are in need of a vital organ or know someone who
needs an organ; these people are greatly impacted by a decision involving organ donation. Vital
organs, such as the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, and liver are involved, which means these people are
in life and death situations. While organ transplants have created a way to give and receive life to
others, the process has actually become controversial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different countries have different systems to organize organ donation. These systems are known as
either opt out or opt in . The United States is currently under an opt in system which basically means
that we assume that everyone does not wish to become an organ donor, unless is it made clear in their
lifetime. An opt out system is one in which we assume that everyone wishes to become an organ donor
after death, otherwise made explicitly known during lifetime. It is proposed that the solution to the
organ shortage crisis in the United states is to adopt the opt out system. This system makes more sense
because if a person is so passionate about not being a donor, they will voice that while they are living.
Our current system does not encourage people to actually take the time to make a decision about being
an organ donor or not. Instead, the system we currently have allows people to stay uninformed about
decisions that could in the end give someone else a shot at living their life. An article written in the
European Journal of Health Law talks about the bill of 2009 that allows presumed consent for organ
donation in European countries. Lisa Cherkassky, Lecturer in Law, includes specifics details written in
the bill such as, if a person during their lifetime has not registered to an objection to his body that after
death, it will be presumed that he [has] consented to such a donation. In the US, we currently must
register to donate, with a system like this, it would be the opposite (registering to not donate).
Cherkassky also includes how the bill seeks to protect people as well when it comes to death, she says
unless two registered medical practitioners have satisfied themselves that the person is dead, no organs
will be allowed to be removed. Adopting a bill with a policy of protection

Implementing The Tax System Classification Rules
On December 17, 1996, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) finalized rules that were intended
to simplify the tax entity classification rules. These rules have become known as the check the box
regulations. Simply put, these regulations allow an eligible entity to check a box that indicates the
desired tax treatment the entity wishes to have. These new regulations signify what was a much
needed departure from the previous classification regulations, which were vague, ambiguous, and
created many disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This simplification
of the entity classification rules would make it easier for such entities to gain their desired tax
treatment, which allows those entities to focus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These new rules replace the Kintner test, which will be analyzed later in this paper. To fully
understand the effects that CTB rules have on entities tax rates, it is important to understand the
complexities of Regulation 301.7703.
Explanation of Regulation 301.7703 3
As previously mentioned, any business entity that is not required to be treated as a corporation may
choose its own classification. An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a
corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with
two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a
corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose
to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership
classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a
business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its
owner. Therefore, the taxpayer is treated as a sole proprietorship and the individual must report all
income and losses on their own tax return.
Foreign business organizations are categorized by default classifications and must elect to be taxed
differently on Form 8832, same as domestic entities. A foreign business entity where all owners have
limited liability will be treated as a

importance of good costumer relations. This is a real internal strength because customers will be

VII. Choice of strategy * Choice (1) Considers only the short run and does not give consideration to
One Day Laundry long range goal. * Choice (2) is consistent with the owners ideas but is not feasible
at this point in time and ignores current financial and organizational problems. * Choice (3) may be a
real consideration if the current situation continues for any length of time. * Choice (4) is consistent
with current current conditions and considers the possibility that starting a franchise could provide
One Day laundry with the flexibility to implement long term plan and start getting out of debt really

IVV. Alternative Strategies A. Stability: the firm should focus on incremental improvement of
functional performance. The firm can also increase efficiency and reduce costs in order to counter the
current economic slump they are in. B. Growth.: One Day laundry could expand in the laundry
business by opening the franchises which was suggested by Mr. Swain, or could expand horizontally
to reduce the impact of the cyclical nature of the laundry business. C. Retrenchment: the firm should

Concert Halls ( Julia Morgan, An American Architect
These days, concert halls also have remarkable architecture, offering audiences a great show even
before they have taken their seats, says the building data company, Emporis. When concert halls are
non contextual architecture, it makes the whole hall an experience, rather than just the show. The
visitor does not even need to purchase a ticket for the show; they can merely wonder around the
exterior and interior for enjoyment. Non contextual designs are becoming more popular which let s the

Cinqué, a peasant farmer and young husband and father in West Africa, was kidnapped by African
slave hunters and taken to the slave fortress of Lomboko, an illegal facility in the British Protectorate
of Sierra Leone. There, he and hundreds of other captured Africans were loaded onto transatlantic
slave ship (Tecora). Cinqué tells of the various horrors of the Middle Passage, including frequent rape,
horrific torture, and random executions carried out by the crew, including the deaths of fifty people
deliberately drowned in order to save food. Upon their arrival in Cuba, Cinqué was sold at a slave
market and purchased, along with many other Tecora survivors, by the owners of La Amistad. Once
aboard La Amistad, Cinqué was able to free himself of his shackles, and began the slaves rebellion for
freedom.
The courtroom drama continues as District Attorney William S. Holabird (Pete Postlethwaite) and
Secretary of State John Forsyth (David Paymer) press their case for property rights and dismiss
Cinqué s story as a mere piece of fiction. While exploring the impounded vessel La Amistad for much
needed evidence to support the Africans claims, Baldwin happens upon a notebook, stuffed into a
crevice by Ruiz and Montez to conceal the evidence of illegal slave trading. Using the book as hard
evidence of illegal trading, Baldwin calls expert witnesses including Captain Fitzgerald (Peter Firth), a

the materials suffer as they flow from the source to the final customer. There are many concepts linked
to this term, purchasing, warehousing, manufacturing, etc. Or more precisely: a supply chain is a
system of business enterprises that link together to satisfy consumer demand. The elements of a

Inflammation In Chronic Periodontitis
Pathogenesis of chronic inflammation of periodontal diseases: Inflammation is defined as a complex
reaction to injurious agents such as microbes and damaged, usually necrotic, cells. It consists of
vascular responses, migration and activation of leukocytes, and systemic reactions (8). The function of
inflammation is to defend the body against microbial infection, and to repair injured tissues.
Nonetheless, inflammation does have the potential to cause harm (9). Inflammation generally begins
with an acute phase characterized by extravasations of plasma fluid proteins and cells, in particular
neutrophils. The function of these various factors includes the killing and elimination of microbes,
debridement of necrotic tissue and eventually repair and possibly regeneration of damaged tissue. As
the inflammation persists, changing from an acute to a chronic state, additional cellular players
become involved, notably macrophages, mast cells, T cells, B cells, plasma cells, and eosinophils (10).
The inflammatory response in chronic periodontitis includes activation of leucocytes, neutrophils, T
lymphocytes and plasma cells and release of antibodies and chemical mediators such as cytokines,
chemokines, C reactive protein, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α), interleukin 1 (IL 1), and
prostaglandins. The lipopolysaccharides are present in the gram ... Show more content on

POLICY PAPER 2 America is portrayed throughout the globe as the land of opportunity and the home
of the free. With all that the U.S. has to offer, it is unethical to see how the health care system has
failed and is continuing to fail countless Americans. We constantly hear the stories of citizens who
have benefited from their insurance, gone through challenges with insurers, or can not be insured
based on their pre existing medical history. With companies such as Microsoft, employees do not pay
a dime out of pocket for any of their medical needs and their families needs regardless of the cost.
Also under these broad organization insurances, employees with pre existing health conditions can not
be turned away. As for all other American citizens who work in small businesses, the insurance offered
to them comes at a high coverage cost with an even higher deductible or co pays and coverage limits. I

WAII the Decision that should matter but don t The modern era, politically, has been defined by the
right of everyone s own decision, for who s in power, what they do in power and how to stop them if

He describes how the western philosophy has described how to make a better world by just simply
giving the individuals more choice in the world. Schwartz then later in the lecture goes on to explain
how this ever growing amount of choice can lead to a paralysis of choice. According to Schwartz this
paralysis is being exemplified by the amount of choices given to them. This has led to an opposite
effect where instead of giving more choices equals a better life, now more choices means no choices at
all leading to no choice at all. Schwartz gives another example of cellphones doing Ludacris things
such as nose trimming, toothbrush and even a lighter. Here exemplifies how the growing number of
choices has led to the elderly simply not getting cell phones or televisions because they cannot
understand how to use the call feature or how to change the channel of the television. The vast amount
of choices has also lead to the agency of our choices to decease as well. With so many options our
decisions rely totally on us according to Schwartz, that if our choice in anything is so much as not
perfect, then our decision was a bad decision and one could have made a better decision. Which leads
to a loss in agency in oneself as well as

Fear Mongering Research Paper
Feeling Shook It is time, at last, to speak the truth about fear mongering in the news, and the truth is
this. Fear mongering in the news is used to manipulate people into thinking something that s not

They often said you need to prepare for all hell to break lose, you need to have plenty of water,

conflicts and struggles among the characters and the external conflicts of nature and their colleagues.
J.D. is in a constant battle with his mentor Dr.Cox and the janitor. He has a bromance with Chris Turk

Apollo 7 Photographs Of Our Day
One of the great photographs of our day is one taken by Apollo 8 astronauts during the lunar orbit.
The photograph is called Earthrise. Inspiring as the first image of the earth was, it was not the primary
reason for space exploration. Apollo missions, beginning with Apollo 7 and ending with Apollo 17, all
had a specific purpose. Apollo 7 began with a primary mission. Apollo 7 was the first manned mission
in the Apollo program to be launched and was a test flight of the newly redesigned module. During the
eleven day flight, the spacecraft was run through a number of tests, and systems operated as intended.
The mission lasted 163 orbits with the crew being the first to beam live telecasts from orbit, giving

Marijuana Legalization Research Paper
Should Marijuana be legalized in the U.S.? Grass, skunk, kush, mary jane, chronic: just a few of the
slang terms for Marijuana. Marijuana (of Indian origin) is the brown, green and gray assimilation of
dried leaves, seeds, and stems. This plant is the most commonly abused illicit drug in the United
States of America, and the third most used recreational drug behind only tobacco and alcohol. It has
been used by nearly 100 million Americans. According to government surveys, some 25 million
Americans have smoked marijuana in the past year, and more than 14 million do so regularly despite
harsh laws against its use ( Medical Marijuana ).
The drug comes from the Hemp plant (Cannabis Sativa), which contains hundreds of compounds, the

The locals claimed that the marijuana incited Mexican immigrants to violent crimes, aroused a lust for
blood and generated superhuman strength. (Berger 23). These statements stemmed more from the
racist ideas of the time than from actual fact. There were similar headlines all over the country with
subtitles such as MARIJUANA MAKES FIENDS OF BOYS IN 30 DAYS; HASHISH GOADS
USERS TO BLOOD LUST. ( Use of Marijuana Spreading in West ). Because of these headlines
(mainly fueled by racism), Marijuana has never been able to drop the horrible image, in part because
politicians continue to press these opinions in the media today. The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 made
possession or transfer of cannabis illegal throughout the United States under federal law, excluding
medical and industrial uses. ( Medical Marijuana )
In the country s more recent history, known politicians have stepped to the podium and dealt with
Marijuana. During the Kennedy administration in the 1960 s, Vietnam was a major issue, and the
public, especially college students, turned to marijuana to rebel. As this happened,
Hawkins 4 enforcement lessened. Courts dismissed marijuana charges or imposed only modest fines.
(Berger 34) In 1960, there were only 169 marijuana related convictions in the entire United States.
During this time, marijuana was seen more as an escape and protest. Crime rates did not rise, and no
major health problems had appeared to be caused by the drug. The 1962 White

James Whitman Vision Analysis
We made it to Whitman Mission. It s burned down and there is nothing left. Literally everything is
burned down. We met a family and they told us to go Fort Vancouver for supplies and then go to
Oregon City but we decided to just travel the rest of the way to Oregon City without stopping. We
leave for Oregon City today and we will get there in a few days. Betsy is sick once again and running
low on energy. We finally make it about halfway and we get to The Dalles. It s a nice place but now
we got to go on the Barlow Road. It is pretty dumb but we have to pay a toll to use this road too. It
came out as 2.80 total but we can t spend much so instead we pay 1 dollar and we trade a cow. We
take the road but it is very steep and Juan s horse got

The Cell Of Adult Stem Cells
A small subpopulation of the proliferating compartment, consisting of relatively undifferentiated
proliferative cells that maintain their population size when they divide, while at the same time
producing progeny that enter a dividing transit population within which further rounds of cell division
occur, together with differentiation events, resulting in the production of the various differentiated
function cells required of the tissue.13
This means that adult stem cells exist in small groups and are mostly undifferentiated, meaning the
cells have the capability to change into one or more cell types over time. While adult stem cells can be
pushed to differentiate into different cell types, they cannot become every cell type in the body. This
results in the adult stem cell offspring only being able to develop into only cell types related to the
tissue of origin. For example, neuronal stem cells may develop into nerve cells of the brain or spinal
cord, but not into cells of other organs, such as the liver. Adult stem cells are also capable of homing
to specific environments in the body and regenerating functional tissue after injury.14 These additional
functions of adult stem cells make them ideal candidates for therapeutic stem cell medicine because
they are able to be used in specific patients to help rebuild damaged tissue, providing the patient with
a better quality of life.
Stem cells can become many different types of cells, they provide researchers the ability to look

An Underground Illegal Business
Running
I have been through alot of bad things in my life but nothing is the same as waking up at 8 in the
morning to the foul taste of smoke in your mouth. It was like the smell of cigarette smoke except as a
taste. My eyes started to water but right as I dried my eyes off I saw them taking her.
My mother was the women I saw them taking her and I knew who they were too. Not literally the men
under the mask but the people they were working for. They were working for an underground illegal
business. They were called the A.W.E.G. (Advanced Warfare Elimination Group) I knew them as the
people I was running from. Very few even knew about their existence. Now I had to get out of the
house. As I got out of the front I saw a van drive away, I knew they had my mother in there. I turned
around and the house exploded. I felt so many things at once if you ve ever seen a rag doll get thrown
around I looked more than likely exactly like that. Once I hit the ground all the pain I didn t feel
kicked in. The force of the explosion threw me into the ground at a high speed. Once I hit the ground
it felt like jumping out of a 5 story building and splating on concrete. I looked at my arms and they
had some first degree burns It felt like a sunburn on steroids. I also couldn t feel my leg until I looked
at it. A piece of rebar went all the way through my thigh. There was nothing I had ever felt to describe
it. Once I pulled it out I started walking to an old friend s house. After limping around

Who Is Mr Wickham In Pride And Prejudice
Everyone has heard the saying never judge a book by its cover. Well this saying needs to be advanced
to say never judge a book by its first chapter. Meaning that one should never judge anyone after their
first meeting. This is proved by multiple characters in Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice. One of these
characters is Mr. Darcy, A character that when introduced is proud and generally not liked due to his
manner but as his character is more explained you see his humbleness and the goodness in his
character. There is also Mr. Wickham, who was introduced as a like character being in the militia and
also being kind and nice turned out to be a liar and a horrible person who manipulate those around
him. Kitty or Catherine is also first judged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wickham is a character that was introduced as a good guy that was not friendly with the bad guy Mr.
Darcy. We learn that they grew up together and money because this fight. Mr. Wickham was the happy
man towards whom almost every female eye was turned, and Elizabeth was the happy woman by
whom he finally seated himself. (Austen 57.) In this perspective Wickman seems to be the kind of
man that any woman would be lucky to have causing Lydia to fall for him. While later we see the kind
of man he really is and how he only really cares about is money. If all the people were not blinded by
the good first impression of him they might not have let him blind them and ruin Mr. Darcy s
reputation. According to the Academic Director of The George Washington University Study Abroad
Centre in London, Laurie Kaplan. The young gentlemen had been companions in their youth, but a
series of betrayals by one man destroys the trust that existed between the families and causes an
irreparable split between them. (Kaplan 1.) This shows that they had a rivalry which Elizabeth would
have wanted both sides on if she had not favored Wickham due to him being better in social situations.
This is one issue that would have been avoided if Elizabeth did not put so much pressure on her first

Much Ado About Nothing Monologue
For our drama assignment we had to do a Shakespearen monologue and do a write up about it. I chose
to do a monologue from the shakespearen play Much Ado About Nothing, act 4 scene 1, I played the
character Beatrice. I didn t really enjoy this assignment as much because I felt very overwhelmed
during the acting part of this assessment and I feel I didn t do very well. With the writing part of the
assignment I feel like I struggled especially with the interpretation of what each line meant of our
monologue. Overall I feel like I didn t do very well at all on this assessment task.
I believe that I could of done a lot better in the acting part by not stoping in the middle. I did get very
upset after I performed due too me feeling like I knew it and I practised it so much that I was so
disappointed in myself for stuffing the whole monologue up. I got myself all worked up before
performing so that when I stumbled during my monologue I blanked. I feel like I didn t do my best
and i am very disappointed in myself at what I did perform. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The part I know that I definitely struggled with were the interpretation of the monologue and the
themes. I found the interpretation part difficult because the language of Shakespeare I find is very
different and hard to understand compared to how I am use to talking. I also found the themes a bit
difficult because at first I wasn t sure what the question was trying to ask but when I think I figured it
out I wasn t quite sure what to write because I didn t know much about the play Much Ado About

A Successful Sports League Director
There are a number of career opportunities within the world of sports and it is my aspiration to change
the world one person at a time. I will continue to assess not only the needs in the organization I am a
part of but the current benefits, and recent issues that I have seen especially in the perspective as a
league director. In this paper, I will continue to examine my strategic plan to not only become a
successful Sports League Director but to also share some improvements I proposed to my director and
staff and the outcome thereafter. I will also discuss a few ethical issues and dilemmas in having a
sports league organization that I have already noticed and might face myself in the future. My job was
to officiate various sports like softball, and basketball within my organization while assisting with a
few extra tasks and being in an advisory role for the league director to note of any areas internally that
needed development. There are many factors that contribute to not only an organizations success but
an athlete s as well, such as location of training, physical and mental health, but no variable matters as
much as the interaction that athlete is exposed to, whether it is with a referee, the facility itself or the
its other participants. Regardless of whichever sport, I will one day have to oversee all sports with
unbiase and still manage not to reach career plateau. I will enforce new and existing policies in the
league that I am seeking to run. There must be a

NASA
Back in 2014, NASA used 3D printing to create a ratchet wrench. Even though this tool will not be
used in space, they are looking into 3D printers on board, the reason, astronauts may need a tool they
do not have and they will need to print one. Since files can be sent via email, the possibilities, the
efficiency and the amazing things that can be done are seemingly endless.
Dentistry
An article recently described the new dental experience as one where a digital wand is waved in your
mouth, and then taken to digital file where it would next go to the 3D printer. As you can imagine,
instead of days or weeks of waiting for new crowns, bridges or fillings, it can be done it 45 minutes,
possibly. Since the dental industry, the lab part has been losing business to Asia who makes the
products for much cheaper, this new technology and help Americans get back market share in the

  • 3. Octavia Butler Bloodchild Summary Octavia Butler, an African American author who uses her writing abilities to instill awareness through a unique form of science fiction. Each of her novels and stories address issues and topics that address issues that typically are discussed with a lot of tension from the feminist of the world. Some of these issues include gender inequalities and gender norms. The short story that I decided to read and write about is Bloodchild which is based on a romantic and controlling relationship with humans and outer space creatures. This author switches the roles of the characters to opposite of societal norms. The male character has the role of the female, so he is required to give birth and the female character has taken the place of the male and has taken on the impregnating actions. The male, Gan, who is the main character, is often seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Her science fiction novels are very fantasy based with real meanings behind them. Butler does this to make the harsh truth, easier to understand and comprehend. She wants to paint the picture of the wall men have around women in society. She often made people feel trapped. whole left row of T Gatoi s limbs closed around her, holding her loosely, but securely...no one else in the family liked it. They said it made them feel caged (Butler 3). This feeling that Butler described is the same some women feel throughout their lives due to not being able to make their own choices about how to live their lives. Instead society tells them what is needed to be done as a woman not what is needed for themselves. Many women go through this oppression without even knowing it. Society had forced women to overlook the way they are treated because the world we live in is male based driven. • 5. Why The Anti Equal Rights Amendment Introduction This essay will explore the reasons why the anti Equal Rights Amendment of the 1970s was successful in keeping the proposed amendment from being added to the Constitution. It starts with a discussion of the process in congress and what it took for the amendment to even reach the states for a vote, and the exact literature of the amendment. It continues by analyzing what caused the movement for the ERA, successes of the feminist movement in the 1970s and leaders in the pro ERA movement. The rest of the essay will discuss the Stop ERA campaign, its arguments against the amendment and how it succeeded in garnering enough support to prevent passage of the amendment. This subject is particularly important to discuss because our society continues to be riddled with gender inequality and sexual discrimination. Though legislative change does not guarantee societal change, it is certainly a necessary step, and the lack of an Equal Rights Amendment has put the issue of sexism in the United States on the backburner. It is necessary to examine the origins of the failure of the Equal Rights Amendment in order to fully understand what is holding the United States back as a country and what can be done to move forward and make meaningful changes in how we perceive gender and sexuality. Passing an Amendment In order to pass an Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, it must first be proposed by either Congress with a two thirds majority vote in ... • 6. Superiority In The Iliad In the Homer s The Iliad, each soldier s main aspiration is to go down in history as a fierce defender of their country. To achieve this status, they must exhibit unceasing bravery and persistence to a higher degree than all other warriors. However, while attempting to build an image of fortitude, soldiers are forced to rid themselves of all humanity they possess. To maintain an image of superiority over their peers, fighters are required to constantly intimidate and degrade those around them. Commanders of the war use this same method of terrorization by insulting their soldiers and using their men s fear of death to assert authority over their armies. In order to be accepted by their leaders, warriors are expected to take countless lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As every battle presents a daunting challenge, leaders constantly find their armies exhausted and weary from the hardships of war. While attempting to raise their men s moral, commanders often threaten their soldiers with the thought of gruesome death. Leaders intimidate their soldiers in order to maintain their authority and make it clear that they expect each man to fight their hardest. As the Trojans are being pushed back by the Greeks, Hector asserts his power over his men by saying to them, If I catch any man hanging back on this side/ He s dead on the spot with no family funeral (15. 355). Commanders often use their renowned reputations to build an image of superiority over their soldiers. Since the leaders are distinguished warriors, they use this credibility to terrify their men and force them to remain allegiant to the army. While the Trojan army approaches the Greek trench, Hector uses his renowned reputation to control his men by telling them that if they are lagging during battle they will lose [their] life at the point of [his] spear (12. 255 257). However, modern science disagrees with his logic, and many have evidence that proves Ebola can be stopped or at the very least slowed down by means of vaccinations or government operations. For example, the World Health Organization believes to have successfully found a vaccine that will protect against Ebola as of December 23, 2016. This organizations started the trial in 2015 and published the results in 2016. The results were the vaccine, called rVSV ZEBOV, was studied in a trial involving 11,841 people in Guinea during 2015. • 9. How Does Enzyme Concentration Or Temperature Affect The... Question: How does changing enzyme concentration or temperature affect the reaction time of enzyme activity? Background and Introduction: Enzymes are proteins that process substrates, which is the chemical molecule that enzymes work on to make products. Enzyme purpose is to increase the rate of activity and speed up chemical reaction in a form of biological catalysts. The enzymes specialize in lowering the activation energy to start the process. Enzymes are very specific in their process, each substrate is designed to fit with a specific substrate and the enzyme and substrate link at the active site. The binding of a substrate to the active site of an enzyme is a very specific interaction. Active sites are clefts or grooves on the surface of an enzyme, usually composed of amino acids from different parts of the polypeptide chain that are brought together in the tertiary structure of the folded protein. Substrates initially bind to the active site by noncovalent interactions, including hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, and hydrophobic interactions. Once a substrate is bound to the active site of an enzyme, multiple mechanisms can accelerate its conversion to the product of the reaction. But sometimes, these enzymes fail or succeed to increase the rate of action because of various factors that limit the action. These factors can be known as temperature, acidity levels (pH), enzyme and/or substrate concentration, etc. In this experiment, it will be tested how much of an effect ... What has remained the same however is the fact that island isolation has forced many animal and plant species to adapt differently from one another based off their island s environmental conditions, creating a living model of microevolution over time. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Currently there are two islands, Isabella and Fernandina, which are still being molded today, and are thus still highly active volcanoes. The weather in the Galapagos consists of two different seasons. Both are marked all year by freezing rain due to the Humboldt Current flowing from the south. Other than this one similarity, the two seasons are completely opposites of one another. Constant wind and fog as well as regular rain showers that often last entire days characterize the months of June through November. December through May on the other hand is sunny, windless, and has very little precipitation. The Galapagos are also affected every three to seven years by a weather cycle known as El Nino. This climate pattern causes extreme drought, which greatly influences both terrestrial and marine organisms. It is characterized by a warming of sea temperature, rise in sea level, and depletion of nutrients. The Galapagos Islands hold a very extensive history marked by constant changes in reasons for people using them. The first documented discovery of the islands occurred in 1535 when Fray Tomas de Berlanga of Panama accidentally came cross them while attempting to sail from Peru back to Panama. There is much controversy however in regards to the truth behind him being the first to have found the islands. Records show that Incas used these islands for food and exploration years before Berlanga claimed to have found them. Nevertheless, the Galapagos remained unsettled ... • 19. Organ Shortage Within the past few years, the demand for organs has increased at an alarming rate. This is due mostly to the fact that diseases and illnesses are becoming more prevalent and are brought on due to a significant change in American lifestyles. Failing organs can be caused by certain ways of living such as being a smoker or becoming obese. Many people are in need of a vital organ or know someone who needs an organ; these people are greatly impacted by a decision involving organ donation. Vital organs, such as the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, and liver are involved, which means these people are in life and death situations. While organ transplants have created a way to give and receive life to others, the process has actually become controversial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Different countries have different systems to organize organ donation. These systems are known as either opt out or opt in . The United States is currently under an opt in system which basically means that we assume that everyone does not wish to become an organ donor, unless is it made clear in their lifetime. An opt out system is one in which we assume that everyone wishes to become an organ donor after death, otherwise made explicitly known during lifetime. It is proposed that the solution to the organ shortage crisis in the United states is to adopt the opt out system. This system makes more sense because if a person is so passionate about not being a donor, they will voice that while they are living. Our current system does not encourage people to actually take the time to make a decision about being an organ donor or not. Instead, the system we currently have allows people to stay uninformed about decisions that could in the end give someone else a shot at living their life. An article written in the European Journal of Health Law talks about the bill of 2009 that allows presumed consent for organ donation in European countries. Lisa Cherkassky, Lecturer in Law, includes specifics details written in the bill such as, if a person during their lifetime has not registered to an objection to his body that after death, it will be presumed that he [has] consented to such a donation. In the US, we currently must register to donate, with a system like this, it would be the opposite (registering to not donate). Cherkassky also includes how the bill seeks to protect people as well when it comes to death, she says unless two registered medical practitioners have satisfied themselves that the person is dead, no organs will be allowed to be removed. • 20. Implementing The Tax System Classification Rules On December 17, 1996, the Department of the Treasury (Treasury) finalized rules that were intended to simplify the tax entity classification rules. These rules have become known as the check the box regulations. Simply put, these regulations allow an eligible entity to check a box that indicates the desired tax treatment the entity wishes to have. These new regulations signify what was a much needed departure from the previous classification regulations, which were vague, ambiguous, and created many disputes between taxpayers and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This simplification of the entity classification rules would make it easier for such entities to gain their desired tax treatment, which allows those entities to focus ... To fully understand the effects that CTB rules have on entities tax rates, it is important to understand the complexities of Regulation 301.7703. Explanation of Regulation 301.7703 3 As previously mentioned, any business entity that is not required to be treated as a corporation may choose its own classification. An entity may choose to have all of the beneficial characteristics as a corporation, but to avoid double taxation, they may choose to be taxed as a partnership. An entity with two or more members can be classified either as a partnership or as an association, which is taxed as a corporation. An entity with only one member has an option to be taxed as a corporation or can choose to be disregarded as an entity separate from its owner. That entity cannot choose partnership classification because a partnership, by definition, has two or more partners. A disregarded entity is a business entity with one owner that is not recognized for tax purposes as an entity separate from its owner. Therefore, the taxpayer is treated as a sole proprietorship and the individual must report all income and losses on their own tax return. Foreign business organizations are categorized by default classifications and must elect to be taxed differently on Form 8832, same as domestic entities. Inflammation In Chronic Periodontitis Pathogenesis of chronic inflammation of periodontal diseases: Inflammation is defined as a complex reaction to injurious agents such as microbes and damaged, usually necrotic, cells. It consists of vascular responses, migration and activation of leukocytes, and systemic reactions (8). The function of inflammation is to defend the body against microbial infection, and to repair injured tissues. Nonetheless, inflammation does have the potential to cause harm (9). Inflammation generally begins with an acute phase characterized by extravasations of plasma fluid proteins and cells, in particular neutrophils. The function of these various factors includes the killing and elimination of microbes, debridement of necrotic tissue and eventually repair and possibly regeneration of damaged tissue. As the inflammation persists, changing from an acute to a chronic state, additional cellular players become involved, notably macrophages, mast cells, T cells, B cells, plasma cells, and eosinophils (10). With all that the U.S. has to offer, it is unethical to see how the health care system has failed and is continuing to fail countless Americans. He describes how the western philosophy has described how to make a better world by just simply giving the individuals more choice in the world. Schwartz then later in the lecture goes on to explain how this ever growing amount of choice can lead to a paralysis of choice. According to Schwartz this paralysis is being exemplified by the amount of choices given to them. This has led to an opposite effect where instead of giving more choices equals a better life, now more choices means no choices at all leading to no choice at all. Schwartz gives another example of cellphones doing Ludacris things such as nose trimming, toothbrush and even a lighter. Here exemplifies how the growing number of choices has led to the elderly simply not getting cell phones or televisions because they cannot understand how to use the call feature or how to change the channel of the television. The vast amount of choices has also lead to the agency of our choices to decease as well. With so many options our decisions rely totally on us according to Schwartz, that if our choice in anything is so much as not perfect, then our decision was a bad decision and one could have made a better decision. • 40. Fear Mongering Research Paper Feeling Shook It is time, at last, to speak the truth about fear mongering in the news, and the truth is this. Fear mongering in the news is used to manipulate people into thinking something that s not always true. In theory anyway. Global warming for example caused a big ruckus in 2012 with the end of the world being in every news outlet. The media used scientist to promote fear to people watching. They often said you need to prepare for all hell to break lose, you need to have plenty of water, supplies, and spend thousands of dollars on an underground bunker that you will never use okay I added that last part but are people really going to use that bunker? It s not a necessity. The news has done it again with the big one , the San Andrea s earthquake. The media need to stop promoting events that are frightful and unlikely to happen as well as over exaggerating an event, and instead start reporting events that are truthful and beneficial for the American people. Marijuana (of Indian origin) is the brown, green and gray assimilation of dried leaves, seeds, and stems. This plant is the most commonly abused illicit drug in the United States of America, and the third most used recreational drug behind only tobacco and alcohol. It has been used by nearly 100 million Americans. The locals claimed that the marijuana incited Mexican immigrants to violent crimes, aroused a lust for blood and generated superhuman strength. (Berger 23). These statements stemmed more from the racist ideas of the time than from actual fact. There were similar headlines all over the country with subtitles such as MARIJUANA MAKES FIENDS OF BOYS IN 30 DAYS; HASHISH GOADS USERS TO BLOOD LUST. ( Use of Marijuana Spreading in West ). Because of these headlines (mainly fueled by racism), Marijuana has never been able to drop the horrible image, in part because politicians continue to press these opinions in the media today. The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 made possession or transfer of cannabis illegal throughout the United States under federal law, excluding medical and industrial uses. ( Medical Marijuana ) In the country s more recent history, known politicians have stepped to the podium and dealt with Marijuana. During the Kennedy administration in the 1960 s, Vietnam was a major issue, and the public, especially college students, turned to marijuana to rebel. As this happened, Hawkins 4 enforcement lessened. Courts dismissed marijuana charges or imposed only modest fines. (Berger 34) In 1960, there were only 169 marijuana related convictions in the entire United States. During this time, marijuana was seen more as an escape and protest. • 45. The Cell Of Adult Stem Cells A small subpopulation of the proliferating compartment, consisting of relatively undifferentiated proliferative cells that maintain their population size when they divide, while at the same time producing progeny that enter a dividing transit population within which further rounds of cell division occur, together with differentiation events, resulting in the production of the various differentiated function cells required of the tissue.13 This means that adult stem cells exist in small groups and are mostly undifferentiated, meaning the cells have the capability to change into one or more cell types over time. While adult stem cells can be pushed to differentiate into different cell types, they cannot become every cell type in the body. This results in the adult stem cell offspring only being able to develop into only cell types related to the tissue of origin. For example, neuronal stem cells may develop into nerve cells of the brain or spinal cord, but not into cells of other organs, such as the liver. Adult stem cells are also capable of homing to specific environments in the body and regenerating functional tissue after injury.14 These additional functions of adult stem cells make them ideal candidates for therapeutic stem cell medicine because they are able to be used in specific patients to help rebuild damaged tissue, providing the patient with a better quality of life. Stem cells can become many different types of cells, they provide researchers the ability to look ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They were working for an underground illegal business. They were called the A.W.E.G. (Advanced Warfare Elimination Group) I knew them as the people I was running from. Very few even knew about their existence. Now I had to get out of the house. As I got out of the front I saw a van drive away, I knew they had my mother in there. I turned around and the house exploded. I felt so many things at once if you ve ever seen a rag doll get thrown around I looked more than likely exactly like that. Once I hit the ground all the pain I didn t feel kicked in. The force of the explosion threw me into the ground at a high speed. Once I hit the ground it felt like jumping out of a 5 story building and splating on concrete. I looked at my arms and they had some first degree burns It felt like a sunburn on steroids. In this perspective Wickman seems to be the kind of man that any woman would be lucky to have causing Lydia to fall for him. While later we see the kind of man he really is and how he only really cares about is money. If all the people were not blinded by the good first impression of him they might not have let him blind them and ruin Mr. Darcy s reputation. According to the Academic Director of The George Washington University Study Abroad Centre in London, Laurie Kaplan. The young gentlemen had been companions in their youth, but a series of betrayals by one man destroys the trust that existed between the families and causes an irreparable split between them. I will continue to assess not only the needs in the organization I am a part of but the current benefits, and recent issues that I have seen especially in the perspective as a league director. In this paper, I will continue to examine my strategic plan to not only become a successful Sports League Director but to also share some improvements I proposed to my director and staff and the outcome thereafter. I will also discuss a few ethical issues and dilemmas in having a sports league organization that I have already noticed and might face myself in the future. My job was to officiate various sports like softball, and basketball within my organization while assisting with a few extra tasks and being in an advisory role for the league director to note of any areas internally that needed development. There are many factors that contribute to not only an organizations success but an athlete s as well, such as location of training, physical and mental health, but no variable matters as much as the interaction that athlete is exposed to, whether it is with a referee, the facility itself or the its other participants. Regardless of whichever sport, I will one day have to oversee all sports with unbiase and still manage not to reach career plateau. I will enforce new and existing policies in the league that I am seeking to run. There must be a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
